Bots, ghosts, and vampires... sounds like a semi-spooky time. This week, join us for a spoiler-free look into the gloriously joyful world of Astro Bot, one of the year's best new releases. We've also got some thoughts on Phasmophobia's creepy co-op gameplay, and the magic of rewind in the blisteringly hard Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. With news, it's the PS5 Pro as gaming's big topic, but we also take a look at some significant anniversaries, like Borderlands 3, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, and the Sega Dreamcast. Check us out on X and BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

I have a fairly modest game collection, but I almost never "have" time to play them. I keep telling myself I'll play these games one day, like when the kids are older and out of the house, or when I have fewer commitments in my life. I also wonder if this "time" will ever come, and should I just sell all these games and play what I have time for. I have a feeling I know what you guys think about this, but I'd be interested in hearing it. WarriorofWASD I feel this. I have tons of unbeaten games and a wishlist that is just as big. I had to redeem my game time by sticking to motion games (VR and Switch) for exercise and multiplayer with my friends to make it a healthy hobby. Outro Thanks for listening to the RetroLogic Podcast! OctoRock (Adam) — Today at 9:46 AM My three favorite non-TMNT bmups are The Simpsons arcade game, Battletoads and River City Ransom. The Simpsons may actually beat out TMNT for me as far as the 4 player arcade experience goes. Just such a hilarious and well crafted game. Battletoads speaks for itself, I'm not sure if it's a full blown bmup because of the platforming and speeder bike levels, but they teamed up with Double Dragon so that's gotta say something. River City Ransom is probably the only oddball here. A great semi-obscure NES game that thankfully a lot of people are now aware of thanks to River City Girls. One of my favorite NES titles and up there with Battletoads for me. the Well-Red Mage — Today at 9:50 AM Shredders Revenge is AH MAH GAHHHHHHHH so good. A beat em up nobody gives enough love to is Fight N Rage. Seriously amazing. ElPeeDee (Liam D) — Today at 10:09 AM mine has to be Batman Returns for SNES. I loved the grabbing & throwing mechanics, breaking parts of the environment and the bat gadgets you could employ. the sprite art was gorgeous and, while I hadn't even seen the movie at that point, I loved the characters twodollarhero — Today at 10:25 AM For me, it's Scott Pilgrim. It's not the most mechanically dense beat-em-up, but I've come to realize that I prefer the River City Ransom approach of simpler gameplay, but a more fleshed out world with characters, shops, etc. Paul Robertson's artwork is gorgeous and the soundtrack by Anamanaguchi is among the greatest in video game history, full stop. CrazyGreekDre — Today at 10:51 AM Turtles in time, Final fight both sNES and TMNT arcade game ChrisHL94

With the help of their comrades, and their trusted team of Pokemon, do they have what it takes to save their world? Does it make significant improvements to the game? Listen and find out! INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/thatsmyqueuepodcast TWITTER https://twitter.com/queuepodcast THEME SONG "Capture Soul" by J1K from the "School Daze" beat tape https://j1kmusic.bandcamp.com/album/school-daze PARTIAL TRANSCRIPT: Released on November 19, 2021 Developed by ILCA, and directed by Yuichi Ueda and longtime series director, Junichi Masuda Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is a remake of the original 2007 Nintendo DS games, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. For those that are unfamiliar with how this franchise works, each new Pokemon release, over time, is referred to as a “generation”. Over time, each generation would subsequently get a remake of that original game that updates the gameplay mechanics to the current hardware. For example, generation one included games like Red and Green in Japan, Red and Blue worldwide, for the original gameboy back in the mid to late 1990s. In 2004, these games were remade into Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, now on the GameBoy Advance. Now updated for the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, are the latest remakes within the series. As far as Pokemon games go, the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were fairly standard entries during the DS era that didn't necessarily shake up the formula in groundbreaking new ways but was still quite enduring with fans, nonetheless when it was released worldwide. Cut to fifteen years later and Game Freak, the longstanding developer of every previous mainline Pokemon game, have now handed over the reins to a new developer ILCA who had previously had a hand in creating the Pokemon Home application. Yet, despite this major change, all the same ingredients that comprised the original games are very much intact in BDSP. However, though fans have long awaited for a remake of this generation, BDSP has been incredibly divisive amongst the community. Breaking away from tradition set by previous remakes, BDSP doesn't adopt much of the same visual style of the current generation and instead emulates the original DS games with a chibi art style that feels glaringly strange and lifeless at first, but becomes easy to adjust to overtime. Another major change is the exclusion of monsters from later generations, while also baffling retaining later quality of life additions such as the Fairy type, and its respective moveset and other minor gameplay elements found in subsequent games. 170: With My Noodlebob It's that time of a year again... E3. We bring you the hottest takes about what to expect at the show, which are usually... wrong. But it's fun anyway. More to the point, we get to explain what we, and hopefully by extension, what everyone else wants to see too. So strap in for the ride. However, before that we still have Under Your Thumb to get to. Derek is back and Brian extents him the courtesy of going first. He's got Pokemon Fire Red on his plate, and playing it using the Nuzlocke Challenge. It's basically a way to make the game more challenging. To each their own. The real challenge is defending which is the correct starter Pokemon to choose. And by that it's always Charmander. Derek also played Detroit Become Human and MLB The Show '18. The latter of which we have a great tangent about what makes a great baseball game. Next up is Brian. He tells us more about his playthough of Batman: The Telltale Series Season 2. I say playthough, but it's more of a watch though and occasionally press some buttons. Either way, he seems to enjoy it. Brian also has another mobile game, and in typical Brian fashion it's a movie game that tugs at the "heart strings." If you've ever been in a relationship (or even if you haven't), this is the game for you. But don't let me sell you on it, let Brian do that when you listen to him talk about Florence. It's $2.99, yet well worth it. Brian's final game this week is Mario Tennis Aces. He's a veteran of the series and lends his insight to explain what sets this game apart from previous titles. Some good and some bad, however what hasn't changed is the main tennis mechanics, and they are still very addicting and the game fun to play. Anthony give us his take on Bloodbourne and helping his friend playthough it. They happen to bail, but it gave him a great opportunity to take care of things he didn't do in the game. Hey, sometimes things have a way of working out. His other game is Dark Souls Remastered. Brian lets out a sharp groan, probably because you can't just watch and press a button, but Anthony is unfazed and explains what he likes about a game he never played when it first arrived. Lastly, Stephen is up and almost forgets that Brian wanted him to talk about 98 Cards again. The game that is sort of like Solitaire but really not at all like the game. It's still the only game in town. Drunken News Eshop Datamine Reveals Fortnite Listing New Diablo Game Confirmed by Blizzard in Job Posting PUBG Sues Fortnite Who Gets To Be On The Steam Store? The Gang spends the first half hour mostly reading things from the internet (thanks to @MobyDickhead and Botnik)! Ben talks about the astounding amount of time he's spent playing Pokemon games in his life so far! Hannah has been too busy for an obsession but then it turns out that she has one anyway. Erin has thoroughly conquered her library fears and now she spends basically all of time on it. Yes, "ON it". HOMEWORK: - Play Pokemon!

This week in video games: Joe, Dan, Dave, and Chris gather to discuss Far Cry 4, The Division, 3DS' disappearance, and Halo 5. We discuss just why Sony has been so successful with the PS4 and why Nintendo and Microsoft aren't where they used to be, then we hear Chris' thoughts on last week's question of the week. We close the show by discussing what we've been playing: Bound by Flame, Borderlands 2, Pokemon Fire Red, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and more.
In episode five, Preston gives an update on his Pokemon FireRed progress and Fritz compares hair to religion. Then, we have a chat actress Caroline Gayle of the Goreys to discuss her life in LA!
