In this episode of The Collector Car Podcast, I sit down with noted appraiser and Hagerty Price Guide founder Dave Kinney to unpack what's really happening in today's collector car market. We dig into the latest valuation trends across classics, muscle cars, modern exotics, and emerging "next-gen" collectibles—and why some segments are softening while others are catching fire. Dave and I talk about how interest rates, global events, and shifting demographics are shaping prices, plus the surprising rise of younger enthusiasts chasing everything from JDM icons to early Brass Era cars. We also discuss where auction results align (or don't) with private sale realities, how to read past the headlines, and what smart buyers and sellers should be paying attention to right now. Whether you're managing a serious collection, thinking about selling a car, or just trying to understand where the market is headed, this conversation with Dave offers grounded, data-driven insight you can actually use the next time you're browsing listings—or raising your hand at an auction. #CollectorCarMarket #DaveKinney #Hagerty #CarValues #ClassicCars #MarketTrends #CollectorCars #MuscleCars #ModernExotics #JDM #NextGenCollectibles #CarPodcast #AutomotivePodcast #CarInvesting #AuctionMarket #TheCollectorCarPodcast Do you need help buying or selling your collector car? LJCSC's expert baker Dr. Kiersten Riedler takes us into the cozy world of holiday baking, sharing her tips and tricks for making the perfect gingerbread cookies. From rolling the dough just the right thickness to using fresh, fragrant spices, she reveals the details that make these cookies both delicious and festive.Along the way, Dr. Riedler draws fun parallels between baking and her work in facial plastic surgery, highlighting how precision, planning, and creativity are key in both. She also shares the joy—and gentle pressure—of living up to friends and family expectations during the holidays.Dr. Riedler's gingerbread cookies recipe:Ingredients:3 cups all-purpose flour¾ cup packed dark brown sugar1 Tbsp ground cinnamon1 Tbsp ground ginger¾ tsp baking soda½ tsp ground cloves½ tsp salt12 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled¾ cup molasses2 Tbsp milkInstructions:Process flour, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, cloves, and salt in food processor until combined, about 10 seconds. Add melted butter, molasses, and milk and process until soft dough forms and no streaks of flour remain, about 20 seconds, scraping down sides of bowl as needed.Spray counter or silicone pastry mat lightly with baking spray with flour, transfer dough to counter, and knead until dough forms cohesive ball, about 20 seconds. Divide dough in half. Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.Heat oven to 350 degrees. Use cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Space cookies ¾ inch apart on rimmed baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Repeat rolling and cutting steps with dough scraps.Bake until cookies are puffy and just set around edges, 9 to 11 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through baking. Let cookies cool on sheets for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack and let cool completely before decorating and serving.LinksSee some of Dr. Riedler's gorgeous Christmas cookies and watch her bake themListen to LJCSC's festive holiday playlist to set the perfect mood while you bake, making your kitchen feel as magical as the season itself.Book a free 15-to-30-minute complimentary phone call with Dr. Riedler's patient coordinatorMeet San Diego facial plastic surgeon Dr. Kiersten RiedlerLearn from the talented plastic surgeons inside La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, the 12x winner of the San Diego's Best Union-Tribune Readers Poll, global winner of the 2020 MyFaceMyBody Best Cosmetic/Plastic Surgery Practice, and the 2025 winner of Best Cosmetic Surgery Group in San Diego Magazine's Best of San Diego Awards.Join hostess Monique Ramsey as she takes you inside LJCSC, where dreams become real. How is this Advent season inviting you to be childlike? Today's Gospel (Luke 10:21–24) reminds us that Jesus reveals His deepest mysteries not to the “wise and learned,” but to the childlike. In this reflection, we look at what it truly means to be a child of God — innocent, curious, trusting, creative, and full of faith. As we think about choir concerts, children's plays, wrapping gifts, and the wonder of the season, we're invited to rediscover that same childlike heart within ourselves.

Whelping Box Foundations with Dr. Marty Greer Host Laura Reeves is joined by Dr. Marty Greer to discuss whelping box foundational elements. From heat sources to bedding to disinfecting, this is “must have” information for all breeders. “All whelping boxes will have a heat source and a surface that's easy to keep clean and disinfected,” Greer said. “We've used the whelping nest as a heat source. There's other companies now that make them and if you don't have electricity they make them propane powered. They make them powered on DC batteries so you can get alternative sources and it might not be a bad idea to have that as an alternative source if you normally have electricity but you're in an area that may have frequent outages and you're expecting puppies.” The heat source should NOT be a heat lamp due not only to fire danger but to the inherent dryness of the environment they create, which can reduce necessary hydration for the puppies. “You want to make sure that you're disinfecting,” Greer said, “and you're using the right disinfectant with the right dilution or concentration. If it's required to be rinsed that you rinse. So read the label directions and don't mix Clorox with anything else. Don't mix your stuff. “So first you're going to have this surface that's heated and you're going to have a disinfectant surface and then you need something absorbent. Because even when the female is cleaning up after the puppies, puppies still will have urine, they'll have stool. And so you need something absorbent, especially in the first 3 or 4 weeks. “If I cannot tell you anything else, please, no newspaper, no shredded paper. Traction. There's nice fleeces that you can put in the box, those work well. I like the absorbency of the repeat pads, and they're a lot easier to launder than the big fleeces. The fleeces, you have to go to the laundromat if they're really huge, because they won't fit in your typical washer and dryer. And then what I put on top of those is I'll put an absorbent material down, like the Repeat pads that Revival has. And then I put down bath mats.”
Karen Coleman-Ostrov, age 65, spent much of her adult life trapped in the exhausting cycle of dieting. She was a lifelong dieter who tried over a dozen different diet programs and protocols, each promising weight loss but ultimately leading to frustration. Some diets caused her to gain weight or slow down her metabolism, while others required tedious food measuring or strict deprivation. Though she often lost weight temporarily, none of these plans were sustainable long-term, and she would always regain what she lost.In August 2020, Karen had a pivotal moment when she saw a stunning, youthful photo of her sister-in-law, Dedra Campbell, on Facebook. Karen initially thought it was a much older photo because Dedra looked so slim and vibrant. When she learned it was recent, Karen immediately called her to uncover her secret. Dedra shared that her success came from practising intermittent fasting, a concept that initially worried Karen because it sounded like deprivation and constant hunger. Yet, out of curiosity and hope, Karen bought the book, “Fast.Feast.Repeat.” by Gin Stephens and decided to give fasting a try—starting with a clean 18/6 fast.To her surprise, Karen found fasting easier than expected. The first fast sparked a change that would transform her life.At the time, Karen weighed 175 pounds (fluctuating often between that and 182 pounds) at 5'5”. Over the coming months, Karen faced challenges like a slowed metabolism caused by years of yo-yo dieting, the effects of menopause, and managing type 2 diabetes. Less than a year into fasting, Karen joined The Fasting Highway and also ordered and read the book. Karen found encouragement from Graeme and fellow fasters, which was crucial as she learned to trust the process and understand that her weight-loss journey was uniquely hers—meaning she shouldn't compare her progress to others'. Karen lost weight gradually but steadily. After about two years, she dropped from 175 pounds to 160, and then a few months later to 149—a weight she hadn't seen in more than 20 years! Eventually, Karen's body settled around 142 pounds, a healthy and comfortable place for her. Her highest weight was 208 pounds, at which point she struggled with daily tasks such as bending over to tie her shoes, suffering from sleep apnea, and being out of breath after going up stairs or walking long distances.Today, Karen's health and mobility have vastly improved. She no longer has sleep apnea and can climb challenging staircases, like the 185 steps of the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse in Bermuda and the 294 steps of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, with ease. Maintaining her weight is effortless now with a flexible intermittent fasting routine, usually fasting 18/6 or OMAD on weekdays, and enjoying longer eating windows on weekends to socialise and eat out.Karen's favourite part about fasting is the control it gives her over food—not feeling controlled by it. When asked why she continues fasting after reaching and surpassing her goal weight, Karen's answer is simple: Intermittent fasting is not a diet or a fad—it's a sustainable lifestyle. This lifestyle has allowed her to lose weight for the last time and live confidently in her body every day.Come and Join Our Patreon Community. DateNovember 30, 2025SynopsisIn this sermon, we kick off our Advent series, Repeat the Sounding Joy: Practicing an Honest Advent, by reclaiming joy as a defiant and contagious act of resistance. Joy is not a denial of despair, but an empowering force that opens our lips and loosens our tongues to sing of a future that refuses to be limited by current reality. We explore how Elizabeth's loud blessing and Zechariah's prophetic song disrupt the silence of Empire, giving us the courage to bless what God is doing and declare the breaking dawn now.ReferencesScripture: Luke 1:39–45; Luke 1:67–80About The Local ChurchFor more information about The Local Church, visit our website. ArTEEtude. West Cork´s first Art, Fashion & Design Podcast by Detlef Schlich.
In this episode, Detlef explores a provocative question:Why does creativity hurt the human body — but not the machine? This episode dives into:⚡ Burnout in the creative world⚡ The myth of the suffering artist⚡ Flesh vs. Electricity⚡ AI as poison AND remedy⚡ The artist as curator of boundariesFrom burnout in the creative process to the myth of the “suffering artist,” Detlef examines how pain became prestige — and why AI challenges that narrative. With insights from Walter Benjamin, Bernard Stiegler, Donna Haraway, and Shoshana Zuboff, the episode asks whether AI is a threat… or a liberation from endless labour. Is the artist still a worker — or a curator of boundaries? The episode closes with the industrial new track by Los Inorgánicos:“Work. Exhaust. Collapse. Repeat.”A mantra for a system that demands more than the body can give.Detlef Schlich is a rock musician, podcaster, visual artist, filmmaker, ritual designer, and media archaeologist based in West Cork. He is recognised for his seminal work, including a scholarly examination of the intersections between shamanism, art, and digital culture, and his acclaimed video installation, Transodin's Tragedy. He primarily works in performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. In his work, he reflects on the human condition and uses the digital shaman's methodology as an alter ego to create artwork. His media archaeology is a conceptual and practical exercise in uncovering the unique aesthetic, cultural, and political aspects of media in culture.WEBSITE LINKS WAW Official YouTube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/@WAWBand"The Niles Bittersweet Song" WAW BandcampSilent NightIn a world shadowed by conflict and unrest, we, Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlich, felt compelled to reinterpret 'Silent Night' to reflect the complexities and contradictions of modern life.https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/silent-nightWild Atlantic WayThis results from a trip to West Cork, Ireland, where the beautiful Coastal "Wild Atlantic Way" reaches along the whole west coast!https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/wild-atlantic-wayYOU TUBE*Silent Night Reimagined* A Multilayered Avant-Garde Journey by WAW aka Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlichhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAbytLSfgCwDetlef SchlichInstagramDetlef Schlich ArTEEtude I love West Cork Artists FacebookDetlef Schlich I love West Cork Artists Group ArTEEtudeYouTube Channelsvisual PodcastArTEEtudeCute Alien TV official WebsiteArTEEtude Detlef Schlich Det Design Tribal Loop Download here for free Detlef Schlich´s Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culturehttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/303749640_Shamanism_Art_and_Digital_Culture_Cause_and_EffectSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/arteetude-a-podcast-with-artists-by-detlef-schlich/donations

This week I learned the horrific news that my cousin, Jack Fanous, went home to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly.Jack tirelessly fought for the rights of U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, raising awareness and support for their housing, employment, and mental health needs through his organization, the G.I. Go Fund (gigofund.org). Amazingly, over the past two years, Jack was also on a quest for spiritual discovery, and he read the Scriptures at least three times, cover to cover. He was changed by reading God's Word, which motivated today's lagniappe edition of Rinse and Repeat, "I Want to Live Like Jack."I was studying Psalm 119 as I mourned Jack, and was struck by how much God's Word, celebrated in this psalm, protects us and directs our lives. In fact, the more I meditated on the psalm, the more I knew God was speaking to me about why God's Word is imperative in our lives, and how to live like Jack.Join me for this truly personal, special edition of Rinse and Repeat.(RAR2025EP49)
French-Canadian real estate investor, designer, and developer Natalie Cloutier shares how she and her husband Rob went from broke 20-year-olds in a basement condo to building 50+ rental units and a multimillion-dollar portfolio using a no-money-down build-to-rent strategy. With a background in architectural technology and a focus on new construction, Natalie has turned sweat equity and creative financing into a full-time business, and recently distilled her approach into her book, “The Build-to-Rent Strategy: A Guide to a Successful Rental Property Construction.” On this episode we talk about: How Natalie and Rob built their first home and basement rental suite with essentially $0 down using sweat equity and construction financing The mechanics of build-to-rent/“BRRR 2.0”: Build, Rent, Refinance, Repeat—and how it differs from the traditional BRRR strategy What work they took on themselves vs. what they always hired out (electrical, drywall, finishes vs. structural, foundation, and plumbing) Why they prefer smaller infill projects like six-plexes instead of large, high-risk developments with heavy permitting costs How they manage leverage, cash flow targets per door, and why they're choosing to pause, de-stress, and reassess what “enough” looks like after a decade of grinding Top 3 Takeaways You do not always need 20% down to get into real estate—using construction-to-perm style loans, sweat equity, and smart design, you can create deals by building rather than competing for existing inventory. Staying intentionally underleveraged and focusing on real cash flow per unit is often safer than chasing maximum refinancing or unit count, especially in volatile interest-rate environments. Your portfolio should support your life, not the other way around; periodically pausing to evaluate stress, health, and family priorities is just as important as growing doors or equity. Notable Quotes "We didn't have money, so instead of buying someone else's house, we built our own and used our work as the down payment." "BRRR 2.0 is the same idea as BRRR, but instead of ‘Buy, Renovate, Rent, Refinance, Repeat,' it's ‘Build, Rent, Refinance, Repeat.'" "It's not about how many units you own; it's about how much money those properties actually make and whether the grind is worth it for your life." This week, I'm taking you inside the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals — the most vibrant, personality-packed show on the calendar. From rare option combinations to one-owner time capsules and the people who've preserved them, MCACN never disappoints. We'll kick things off with the highest-optioned Hemi 'Cuda ever produced, a car so loaded it borders on mythical. Then we move to a completely unrestored 1967 Corvette, a survivor that still carries every factory quirk, fingerprint, and fastener from day one. And of course, the best part of MCACN is always the owners — the storytellers, the historians, and the characters behind these machines. You'll hear colorful tales of discovery, decades-long stewardship, and the passion that keeps the American performance era alive. If you love high-octane history, quirky provenance, and hearing the stories that never make the display placards, this episode is for you. Miracle Consciousness is a multidimensional activation into the frequency of divine orchestration, synchronicity, and grace. This Transmission anchors the Miracle Field, the energetic template where miracles are not extraordinary but natural expressions of divine order. It invites your entire system to resonate at the frequency of effortless manifestation, divine timing, and higher intelligence. You are becoming the living field of miracles itself. Each Transmission is a multidimensional energetic session that interacts directly with your nervous system, energy body, and subconscious architecture, recalibrating your field into coherence with the miracle frequency. Through a precise fusion of binaural entrainment, subliminal reprogramming, and energetic light coding, this Transmission opens a living field that performs real-time energetic alignment while you listen. You are being attuned, energetically, neurologically, and vibrationally, to the natural rhythm of miracles. Every layer is deliberately designed to: Synchronize brain hemispheres and guide the body into Theta relaxation. Clear subconscious resistance to divine flow and infinite possibility. Activate the miracle frequency in your energy field, cellular memory, and emotional body. Transmute density and limitation through vibrational resonance and divine love. Anchor higher-dimensional intelligence into your physical, emotional, and mental systems. This is energy work disguised as sound, living consciousness encoded into audio form. Each tone, pulse, silence, and vibration carries divine intelligence that knows exactly where to go and what to recalibrate in your field.

THE Sales Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
Sales has always been a mindset game, but as of 2025, credibility is audited in seconds: first by your attitude, then by your image, and finally by how you handle objections and deliver outcomes. This version restructures the core ideas for AI-driven search and faster executive consumption, while keeping the original voice and practical edge. Is attitude really the master key to sales success in 2025? Yes—your inner narrative sets your outer performance curve. From Henry Ford's "whether you think you can or can't" to Dale Carnegie's focus on personal agency, top performers engineer their self-talk under pressure. Post-pandemic, the volatility of B2B buying cycles and procurement scrutiny means sellers in Japan, the US, and Europe face more "no's" before a "yes." Adopt deliberate mental scripts before client calls ("You can do this") and after setbacks ("Reset, learn, re-engage"). Layer temporal anchors—quarterly targets, weekly pipeline reviews—to keep momentum objective, not emotional. In startups and SMEs, the founder-seller's mindset colours the whole team; in multinationals, it influences cross-functional trust with legal, finance, and delivery. Do now: Write a 30-second pre-call mantra and a 60-second post-call reset. Repeat both for 30 days; track conversion lift in your CRM. How do I bounce back fast after rejection without losing my edge? Counter-programme negativity with immediate, structured inputs. After job loss or a blown deal, flood your cognition with high-quality content the way athletes use tape review—books, playbooks, and leader debriefs instead of doom-scrolling. Think "input replacement": replace rumination with skill-building (objection patterns, pricing frameworks). Firms like Toyota or Rakuten institutionalise retrospectives; emulate that at team scale. In APAC vs. US contexts, timelines to re-pitch can differ—use a 24–48 hour window to reframe, then re-engage stakeholders. Treat every rejection as data: log cause (timing, budget, political capital) and countermeasure (proof, pilot, reference). Do now: Create a "rejection to routine" checklist: 1) log cause, 2) choose countermeasure, 3) schedule next touch, 4) upgrade enablement asset. Which people should I avoid—and which should I seek—when my pipeline wobbles? Avoid the "whine circle"; seek performance environments. Misery compounds in sales teams when negative talk becomes a daily ritual. Protect your focus like revenue: step away from low-agency chatter and toward deal rooms, peer reviews, and customer-back sessions. The classic Glengarry Glen Ross contrast—Ricky Roma selling while others complain—remains instructive, even if your 2025 "bar" is a Zoom room. In Japanese enterprise sales, senpai-kohai norms can pressure you to join the gripe; politely decline and book a customer discovery call instead. In US/Europe, use enablement Slack channels for pattern-spotting (what's working now vs. last quarter). Do now: Time-audit one week. Replace 2 hours of complaint conversations with 2 customer conversations, a reference call, or a pilot design session. Does my image still matter when most buyers research online first? Absolutely—executive presence accelerates trust in the first 90 seconds. "Image" isn't just suits and watches; it's congruence: neat dress, crisp opening, concise agenda, and credible artefacts (case studies, pilots, references). Think "BMW energy" without the bravado: quiet competence, simple visuals, punctuality. In conservative sectors (financial services, manufacturing), formality signals reliability; in startups and creative industries, smart-casual with clean slides signals agility. Japan versus US norms diverge in attire, but converge on preparation and respect: arrive early, name roles, confirm outcomes. Keep a repeatable first-impression kit: one-page credibility sheet, short customer video, and a 15-minute discovery plan. Do now: Build a 3-item presence kit (attire checklist, one-pager, discovery plan). Rehearse your first 90 seconds until it's muscle memory. How do I sound fluent without sounding "slick" or manipulative? Use structured clarity, not theatrics. Buyers fear the "too smooth" pitch; answer crisply, invite scrutiny, and show your working. Use a simple objection map: acknowledge → clarify → evidence → confirm. Anchor with entities (benchmarks, standards, regulations) and timelines ("as of Q4 2025, compliance rules changed"). In enterprise deals, suggest a small pilot to lower risk; in SME deals, offer a 30-day milestone plan. Keep language plain English with Australian spelling—short sentences, verbs first. Record and review your calls like athletes; look for hedging, filler, and jargon. Replace with specifics and proof. Do now: Write 5 top objections with one-sentence answers and one proof each (metric, customer name, or pilot result). Practise aloud. What proves credibility over time when problems inevitably arise? Calm accountability beats charisma after the contract is signed. When delivery hits turbulence, credibility is measured by cadence (weekly updates), transparency (risk log), and persistence (closing loops). Map stakeholders: executive sponsor, user lead, procurement, security. In Japan, escalate with harmony (nemawashi) before the formal meeting; in US/Europe, publish a written corrective plan and owner names. Tie each update to outcomes (uptime, cycle time, ROI proxy). Startups: emphasise speed of fix. Multinationals: emphasise governance and documentation. The goal is partner status, not vendor status. Do now: Implement a two-line status format in every email: "What changed since last week" and "What will change before next week," plus a single risk with owner. Quick checklist — first 90 seconds with a new buyer Confirm time, agenda, and outcome. One-sentence value prop, one credible proof. Ask one context question, one metric question, one timing question. Conclusion — the three pillars work together Mindset, image, and delivery are a system, not a buffet. Get your inner voice aligned, present like a pro, and then prove it under pressure. Do those three consistently, and 2025's buyers—whether in Tokyo, Sydney, or New York—will pick you when it counts. FAQs What should I change first if I'm overwhelmed? Start with a pre-call checklist and a 30-second mantra—both are fast and compounding. How formal should I dress in Japan vs. the US? Japan skews more formal; the US tolerates smart-casual—match the client's culture and the meeting's stakes. How do I track mindset ROI? Tag calls where you used the routine; compare conversion rate and cycle time vs. prior month. Next steps for leaders/executives Install objection maps and first-impression kits across the team. Run weekly deal reviews focused on clarity, not theatre. Standardise pilot templates and two-line status updates. Overpowering Emotions Podcast: Helping Children and Teens Manage Big Feels
Kids say “I feel bad” all the time. But what does that actually mean for their brain and their behaviour? In this episode of Overpowering Emotions, Dr. Caroline breaks down how the brain builds emotions and why teaching kids to move from “I feel bad” to “I feel overwhelmed / uncertain / left out” is a game-changer for emotional regulation. Drawing on brain science and day-to-day stories from classrooms and families, she explains:· How the brain compresses huge amounts of sensory data into simple emotional categories· Why kids (and adults) often feel “angry” or “anxious” without knowing why· What “emotion granularity” is and how it gives kids more control over their reactions· The link between the body budget (sleep, hydration, exhaustion) and emotional meltdowns· Practical ways to help children notice body sensations and match them with accurate emotion words You'll hear simple tools you can use right away to build emotional literacy in homes, classrooms, and therapy sessions. Tight, heavy, buzzy, hot, cold?”Help kids link body cues to emotions and needs:“Heavy chest = overwhelmed?”“Jittery legs = excited or nervous?”Dr. Caroline's personal example from the episode:o A “crushing feeling” in her chest often signals overwhelm and too much on her plate.o A “breaking” feeling in her chest usually means exhaustion after very little sleep.o She then uses those cues to decide: “Do I need to reprioritize my day, or do I need to rest?” Body Budget Check Before jumping to “big emotion” explanations, check:Sleep: “How much did you sleep last night?”Hydration: “Have you had water today?”Food: “When was the last time you ate?”Load: “Is your day too full?”If a child says “I feel scared,” also scan for: Are they dehydrated? Exhausted? Hungry?Respond differently if the body budget is off (water, snack, rest, schedule changes) before jumping into problem-solving the situation. Adult Self-Practice: Modelling Emotion GranularityReplace “I'm just so stressed” with more precise language:“I feel overwhelmed because I have too much on my plate.”“I feel exhausted from not sleeping enough.”Say it out loud in front of kids so they see the full process: sensation → emotion word → action plan.· Turn Feelings into Action PlansOnce kids have named the emotion more clearly, ask about what they need. If they're unsure, help them brainstorm ideas:“If you feel left out, what might help? Inviting someone to play, talking to a teacher, or taking a break?”“If you feel overwhelmed, what do you need? Should we break this task into smaller steps?”Goal:o Move from broad “bad” to specific emotion + specific next step.o Repeat often enough that the brain learns this sequence as a habit.Enjoying the show? Gratitude in a Mixed WorldThere is a strange quiet that settles over the landscape this time of year. Not silence exactly, but the thickened hush that comes when winter begins to gather itself at the edge of the horizon. The bright colors fade into deeper tones. The days shrink. The nights stretch. And somewhere inside that long dark, something ancient begins to stir.Gratitude always feels different in this season. It does not arrive as a cheerfulness or a forced smile. It comes more like breath in cold air, visible for a moment before it disappears, reminding you that you are alive, still moving, still here. This year especially, I feel the weight of a world that is hurting, and the resilience of a heart that refuses to close. Gratitude has become less about counting blessings and more about choosing to see that there is another way to live.Because let's be honest. Many people have chosen to live life on “difficult mode.” They cling to a belief that the only way forward is to make someone else fall behind. They accept stories that tell them scarcity is inevitable, cruelty is necessary, and the suffering of a neighbor is simply the cost of their own survival. Governments amplify these lies. Systems reward them. And people absorb them until they feel like it is the only possible shape of the world. But gratitude, real gratitude, is a radical act. It refuses that worldview. It says: there is more than this. It whispers: you can choose differently. And that is what has been sitting on my heart this year. Even in the midst of hardship, even with so many living in fear, even with power systems grinding down the most vulnerable, we still have the ability to imagine better. Gratitude does not erase pain. It does not ask us to pretend. It invites us to see the small openings that remain, the slivers of light that widen into possibility.Every November, the same story tries to reassert itself in our collective memory. A story of pilgrims and Indigenous people sharing a peaceful feast, a myth invented long after the fact to soothe a national conscience uneasy with the truth. The real history is far more complex and far more tragic, shaped by violence, theft, and cultural erasure. And yet the myth persists because something in us longs for the image of people sitting down at one table, recognizing each other's humanity.I don't honor the myth, but I do honor the longing. That longing is a tender thing. It points toward the world we wish we had inherited and the world we are still capable of building. It asks us to tell the truth about the harm done and still find a way to nourish the good that remains. This is where gratitude becomes holy. Not as denial, but as practice. Not as distraction from suffering, but as one of the ways we refuse to let suffering be the final word.We begin with awe, the first of the Four Paths. Awe at the simple fact that we can feed one another, that despite the greed of corporations and the cruelty of policies, we still live in a world where abundance is possible. Awe that we can see what is happening in the world rather than living in the dark, because our phones let us witness what once would have stayed hidden in silence. Awe that even in grief, we are capable of compassion. From awe, we move into the Via Negativa, the honest naming of what is broken. Gratitude does not deny harm. It looks directly at it and refuses to let it consume the entire horizon. Gratitude says: yes, this is true, and yes, there is still something good. It is the art of holding both at once, of letting sorrow deepen us without hollowing us out. Then gratitude leads us into the Via Creativa, because once you recognize small goodness, something in you wants to protect it. You begin to imagine ways to nurture it, expand it, share it. Gratitude makes us inventive. It makes us curious about what might grow if we cared for it. It turns us toward actions that feel humble and hopeful at once. And finally, gratitude draws us into the Via Transformativa. The small good we recognize, the small good we celebrate, becomes fuel for justice. Gratitude gives us the energy to tend the world, to push back against cruelty, to choose a path that leads toward healing. Gratitude is not passive. It is preparation. It is the way we gather strength for the work ahead.Brian and I harvested our sunchokes this year, waiting as instructed until the first hard frost had passed. We planted them without knowing what to expect, without knowing how they'd take to the soil, without knowing if they'd flourish or fail. When we finally pulled them from the earth, they were generous. And as we washed them and sorted them, we found ourselves instinctively doing what people have done for millennia. We measured the harvest. We appreciated the effort that led to it. We saved the seeds, thought about next year, and planned how to care for the soil that cared for us.That cycle is older than any nation, older than any holiday, older than any myth. Gather the seeds. Plant them. Tend them. Harvest. Share. Repeat. Gratitude is the thread that runs through the whole pattern. It keeps us from taking what we have for granted. It reminds us that we are part of a living world. It keeps us humble enough to learn from our mistakes and hopeful enough to try again.Even abundance teaches. We noticed where we planted too closely, where the light didn't quite reach, where the soil could use more care. We didn't fixate on what didn't go perfectly. Gratitude pointed us toward what went well and gave us the courage to improve what needs tending. This is the wisdom of the season: not everything will flourish, but what grows will teach you how to grow more.Thanksgiving, as practice, is not about reenacting a myth or pretending everything is fine. It is about choosing to create a sacred space where honesty and gratitude can coexist. Sometimes that means setting boundaries with kin who drain rather than nourish. Sometimes that means choosing your chosen family, the ones who hold you up, the ones who care in ways blood relatives may never understand.Sacred space is not neutral. It has structure. It has intention. It has rules meant to protect what is tender and alive. In our home, we keep Thanksgiving as a feast day. And part of the feast is naming what we are grateful for. Not to ignore pain. Not to suppress anyone's truth. But to build the kind of atmosphere where celebration can open us to hope.Protecting sacred space is an act of love. It is how we make sure the meal nurtures us instead of draining us. It is how we remember that we belong to each other in ways deeper than blood. So here we are, standing on the threshold of winter. The world feels heavy. Many people are hurting. Systems are grinding along with impersonal force. And yet gratitude calls us still.Gratitude says: measure what is good. Not because the good is winning. Not because the good is loud. But because the good is real, and naming it helps us keep going.Gratitude says: tend what is growing. Celebrate what is alive. Protect what is tender. Let joy be an act of resistance.Gratitude says: imagine a better world. Dream of abundance, not as fantasy but as a path already unfolding beneath your feet. And gratitude says: you can choose differently. You can plant new seeds. You can harvest new possibilities. You can live in a way that does not demand someone else's suffering for your survival. This year, Thanksgiving feels less like a holiday and more like a vow. A vow to tell the truth about harm. A vow to nurture the small goods that sustain us. A vow to keep imagining a world where we feast together in justice and joy.Winter is long. But gratitude fills the lantern we carry into the dark. And that light is enough to guide the way. Thanks for reading! Crystalline DNA Activation is an energetic technology of remembrance, a multidimensional initiation into your original divine blueprint of health, light, and multidimensional intelligence. This Transmission reawakens the dormant crystalline strands of your DNA, restoring the template of divine perfection encoded within every cell of your body. As the frequencies unfold, your system begins to recalibrate to hold more light, more life force, and more divine intelligence. You are becoming the embodied frequency of divine design. Each Transmission is a multidimensional session that interacts directly with your energy field, nervous system, and cellular architecture, recoding your system into higher coherence with Source consciousness. Through a precise fusion of binaural entrainment, subliminal reprogramming, and crystalline energetic coding, the Transmission opens an active field that performs real-time energetic activation while you listen. You are being upgraded, energetically, neurologically, and vibrationally. Every frequency, silence, and pulse is encoded with divine intelligence that knows exactly where to travel within your energy system. Each layer of this Transmission is engineered to: Synchronize your brain hemispheres and drop you into Theta–Delta frequency for deep integration. Activate dormant DNA strands and crystalline light structures within your cells. Recode ancestral and karmic imprints stored in your genetic memory through sound and vibration. Transmute density and distortion through high-frequency resonance. Anchor the divine blueprint of vitality, wholeness, and multidimensional intelligence into your body. Strengthen your nervous system's ability to hold and integrate higher frequencies of light. This is energy work disguised as sound, living consciousness encoded into audio form. Each tone, pulse, and layer of silence carries crystalline intelligence that works beyond your conscious awareness, reconfiguring your system into divine coherence. Through layered light codes, binaural synchronization, and energetic recoding, this session: Reactivates the 12-Strand Crystalline Template within your DNA. Restores your original divine design and clears distortions from ancestral programming. Aligns your cells to the higher blueprint of vitality, regeneration, and multidimensional awareness. Bridges matter and spirit, allowing Source intelligence to communicate freely through your biology. Expands your consciousness to embody divine remembrance, the knowing that you are the living code of light. Anchors the frequencies of divine love, truth, and power through every strand of your being. It is a quantum re-sequencing, re-patterning your relationship with your body, your energy, and the field of creation itself. Each playback deepens your embodiment as a Crystalline Human, radiant, coherent, and alive with divine intelligence. Ways to Work with This Transmission Meditation Journey Sit or lie down comfortably. Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Let the sound guide you into a deep Theta state where your DNA and light body can fully receive the codes. Energetic Calibration in the Background Play softly while you rest, create, or sleep. The frequencies will continue to activate your field at the subconscious and cellular levels. Morning or Evening Ritual Listen at sunrise or before sleep to align your system with the highest frequencies of light integration. Healing or Integration Support Use after energy work, emotional release, or deep transformation to stabilize new light frequencies in the physical body. Daily Activation Practice Combine with breathwork, visualization, or journaling to deepen embodiment and integrate new consciousness patterns. How to Work with Intention Before pressing play, speak your invocation aloud or in your heart: “I now open to receive the Crystalline DNA Activation codes of divine remembrance, to fully embody my original blueprint of light and perfection.” Allow the sound to work beyond the mind. When the Transmission completes, rest or journal to integrate the energetic upgrades. Repeat daily or intuitively until the new coding feels fully embodied. Integration Disclaimer These Transmissions initiate deep energetic realignments. You may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, emotional release, vivid dreams, or fatigue as your system reorganizes to hold more light. This is natural. Honor your process with rest, hydration, nature, and grounding. Your energy field is literally reconfiguring to embody the next evolution of human consciousness. Best experienced with headphones to receive the full binaural synchronization and subtle crystalline layers.

Here's a question that hits closer to home than most sales reps want to admit: What do you do when you've been away from prospecting for a while and suddenly the call reluctance feels brand new again? That's the situation Dwayne Malmberg from Sugar Land, Texas found himself in. He'd been crushing it in inside sales and appointment setting since the 90s. He was good at it. Really good. But after taking just over two years away from the phones, a new opportunity came along and suddenly he was facing something he didn't expect. The call reluctance. The trepidation. The mental resistance to picking up that phone and dialing invisible strangers. If you've ever taken time away from prospecting and felt that same knot in your stomach when it's time to get back on the phones, you're not alone. And more importantly, there's a systematic way to rebuild that muscle and get back to crushing it. The Raw Truth About Cold Calling Fear Let's get brutally honest: Cold calling creates emotional angst. Period. I've made tens of thousands of cold calls. I make them with my clients during training sessions. I'll make them tomorrow morning. And I still feel that trepidation on the first couple of calls of the day. It's just human. It's natural. It never completely goes away. Think about it like jumping out of an airplane. A few years ago, I got the chance to jump with the United States Army Golden Knights. I was terrified. My heart was pounding. A sergeant even asked if I was okay because apparently I looked frightened. When we got strapped in, I turned to the Golden Knight I was jumping with and asked, "Do you ever get scared?" His answer was revealing: "Yeah, of course I do. My heart's beating a little bit because it's an airplane and I don't know what's going to happen. But I've done it so many times and I've got a routine." That's the key. The routine. The process. The mental preparation that gets you past the fear and into action. The Big Pull: Why You Need Something Worth Fighting For Here's the problem with facing fear: If you don't have something pulling you forward that's bigger than the discomfort you're feeling right now, you'll procrastinate forever. The discipline to run a prospecting block and do your prospecting is the discipline to sacrifice what you want now for what you want most. So before you even think about picking up the phone, sit down and write out what you want. Why are you doing this? What's the goal? Is it a paycheck? A promotion? Financial freedom? Providing for your family? That's your big pull. That's what you focus on when you start your day, not whatever might happen on the call. Because when you're thinking about something as scary as facing rejection, if you don't have a big pull driving you, you'll end up avoiding the work that matters most. For Dwayne, part of his why was clear: He's a caregiver for his disabled wife and needs the flexibility to work from home while still providing for his family. That's a powerful pull. That's something worth pushing through fear for. Building the Muscle: You Can't Bench Press 250 on Day One Let's say you were a bodybuilder in your 30s. You were strong, lifting heavy, crushing it in the gym. Then life happened. Kids came along. Your career took off. You quit working out. Now you decide it's time to get back in shape. What happens if you walk into the gym and try to bench press 250 pounds on day one? You're going to hurt yourself. Maybe badly. The same principle applies to prospecting after time away. You already know how to do it. You've got the muscle memory. Everything inside you is saying, "I got this." But you can't expect to jump back in at the same intensity level you had before. You have to rebuild the muscle gradually. Start with the equivalent of those 20-pound dumbbells and work your way back up. The High-Intensity Sprint Strategy When I found myself in a similar situation years ago, uncomfortable and fearful about making calls, I developed a strategy that I now call high-intensity prospecting sprints. Here's how it works: Break your prospecting into very small, short blocks. Sometimes just five minutes. Make five calls in five minutes. Or ten minutes. Or fifteen minutes. The key is this: Make it so small and manageable that your brain can't talk you out of it. If I tell you to make cold calls all day long, that feels overwhelming. But if I ask you to knock out just five calls, you can do that. Then here's the critical part: Follow each sprint with something inspiring. Read a chapter from Fanatical Prospecting. Listen to a segment of your favorite sales podcast. Watch a training video. Put good stuff in your ears and in front of your eyes that builds your courage and strengthens your heart. Then do another sprint. More inspiration. Another sprint. Repeat. What happens is two things: First, by actually doing it instead of thinking about it, you get better at doing it. You get what I call sales endorphins. You feel good about yourself because you realize, "Hey, I can do this. Everything's okay." Second, by backing up each sprint with inspirational content, you're feeding your mindset. You're building back that mental muscle alongside the practical muscle. The Time Management Factor for Busy Sales Professionals If you're like Dwayne and have a lot of responsibilities outside of sales, time management becomes critical. You can't afford to waste time or dilute your prospecting efforts. The solution is ruthless prioritization and time blocking. Start your day with your most important, highest priority sales activity. Get your prospecting done first thing in the morning when your willpower is strongest and your emotional energy is highest. Here's why this matters: When you've got a lot going on and you're also doing the hardest job in sales (making outbound calls), by the time you get later into your day, you're worn out. Your willpower is depleted. It's going to be exponentially harder to find the motivation to interrupt strangers. But first thing in the morning? You're fresh. You're ready. You can knock out that prospecting block and then ride that momentum through the rest of your day. Block your calendar in core chunks for everything you need to do. If you have an appointment at 3 PM that'll take three hours, fine. But that first hour of your day? That's sacred prospecting time. Nothing else touches it. The Mindset Foundation: Feed Your Mind Daily The first section of Fanatical Prospecting focuses on mindset because that's where everything begins. If your mindset isn't right, technique doesn't matter. Scripts don't matter. Nothing matters because you won't execute. Feed your mind daily with content that builds you up. Listen to a sales podcast three days a week. Read sales books. Watch training videos. Surround yourself with messages that reinforce the behaviors you want to develop. When you're in a situation where you feel fear or emotional angst, putting good stuff in your ears and eyes has a tendency to make your heart stronger and build your courage. This isn't fluffy motivation. This is practical psychology. You're literally rewiring your brain to associate prospecting with positive emotions instead of fear and anxiety. The Bottom Line Getting back in the prospecting game after time away isn't about summoning superhuman courage or pretending the fear doesn't exist. It's about acknowledging the fear, building a routine to work through it, and gradually rebuilding the muscle you once had. You already know how to do this. You've done it before. You just need to give yourself permission to start small, build consistently, and focus on progress over perfection. Start with your why. Build your prospecting sprints. Front-load your day. Feed your mind with the right content. And remember: The first call is always the hardest because you're lifting that 10,000-pound weight. But once you make it, the momentum starts building. You've got this. Now go pick up the phone and prove it to yourself. Want to learn how to leverage LinkedIn to fill your pipeline and never run out of opportunities? 10 years of distillation -- what a milestone for Virginia Distillery Company and for American Single Malt writ large! Joshua and Jason discuss these 10 years but talk, too, about their relationship with the company that goes back 15+ years ago, before the distillery started producing their own spirits. The duo also taste through VDC's new Gingerbread Stout Cask Matured release. Add to this, Joshua discovers that there's a difference between a "Snickerdoodle" cookie and a "Snickers" cookie, which he had been calling, in his head, a "Snickerdoodle" because it actually resembles a Snickers bar. It gets very controversial, people. The good news is, Joshua has shared his in-house "Hatton's-Snickers-Doodle" recipe below which is *delicious*. See below, and try it at home! We'd love to hear your thoughts! Hatton's Snickers-Doodles: 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened) 1 cup Brown Sugar (tightly packed) 1/2 cup Sugar 2 large Eggs 1 teaspoon Vanilla 2 1/4 cups Flour 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda 1 teaspoon Salt 2 cups Torrone Nougut (finely chopped) 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips Method Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and sugar until light and fluffy and pale yellow in color. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and Torrone Nougat. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges start to become a light golden color. Let cool for at least 10-15 minutes before removing from the baking sheet. Put a cookie in your mouth and eat it. Repeat. ...as usual, have a seat, have a pour, and listen in. Unless you're driving. If you're driving, be smart and stay sober but be sure to listen into the conversation! We've all had those weeks where the inbox is overflowing, deadlines are creeping up, and everything feels one small hiccup away from chaos. When that happens, it's easy to blame your motivation or time management. But the truth is, when things feel chaotic or inconsistent, it's usually not a motivation problem... It's a systems problem. In this episode, I'm breaking down the five core systems that keep your photography business running smoothly: marketing, sales, fulfillment, retention, and accounting… plus one more that most people skip, data tracking. We'll talk about what each one actually looks like in real life, how to tell when it's working (or not), and why putting these in place doesn't have to be complicated or corporate.I'll also share some of my favorite resources that help make these systems easier, like the Simple Sales Blueprint, Revenue on Repeat, and the Photographer's Business Dashboard, so you can stop relying on hustle and start relying on structure. If you ever struggle with procrastination, this episode will help you put systems in place that save your time, energy, and sanity.LINKS:The Consistency Club: Your monthly marketing system in a box — stay visible without the hustle.Simple Sales Blueprint: Learn how to build a sales system that's simple, transparent, and effective.Revenue on Repeat: Create a portrait membership system that locks in repeat clients and predictable income.Photographer's Business Dashboard: Track your numbers, see your trends, and finally understand your business data.Profit First by Mike Michalowicz: A simple, practical framework for managing your money so your business stays healthy and profitable.Resources: New to the podcast?
