In her own words.....https://nataliegochnour.com/. "The American Enterprise Institute recently released a book titled, The Future of Cities. I was honored to contribute a chapter highlighting policy innovations in Utah and Salt Lake City. Many have written about the trend towards bigger government and the “supersized state.” I like to remind people it's not bigger government that matters; it's better government focused on people that should be society's aim. In Utah we like to call it the “Utah way.” As policymakers continue to debate government's role, they would do well to consider better government in the form of innovative ideas, data-driven research, and effective collaboration. The Utah way embodies these characteristics and places people, not government, at the center of improving outcomes in poverty, homelessness, and health. In doing so, Utah pulls away from the polarized extremes, inspires individual action, and pioneers a brand of constructive policymaking that produces positive results. It's a successful model for other states to follow. You can see the book here and the chapter I wrote here."

Trust IS the leadership currency. Things don't trust, but people do. If you don't have credibility, you can't lead people. You can't control what people do to you. You can only control how you react to how people treat you. Author, senior executive, and educator Errol L. Pierre(@Errol L. Pierre) brings a wealth of experience, insight, and leadership, discussing mentorship, work ethic, and climbing the corporate mountain as a professional of color. "Have the courage to make a million mistakes and the wisdom not to make the same mistake a million times." -Errol L. Pierre Key Takeaways: Optimal Performance Strategy: Execute tasks with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Wholehearted dedication to each endeavor maximizes the potential for success and fulfillment. Opportunities present themselves in the synchronicity of life. Strategic Interaction Approach: Adopt a professional mindset akin to "One Day, One Life." Treat every daily interaction as if it were an interview, promoting attentiveness and respect for meaningful connections. Show up as your best each day and prepare for the best possible outcome in all your interactions. Cultural Awareness for Harmony: Acknowledge that societal divisiveness often stems from limited exposure to diverse cultures. Foster unity by actively seeking to understand and appreciate different cultural perspectives. Regardless of who we are, we all have biases; this is an important distinction when engaging in and facilitating complex discussions. Learning through Errors: View mistakes as valuable learning opportunities. Making a diverse array of mistakes can lead to a wealth of knowledge and increased intelligence. However, repetitive errors without adaptation require corrective action to ensure continued growth and success. Mentorship Principle: A genuine mentor facilitates the journey of individuals in discovering their true selves. Acting as a guide and shepherd, a mentor provides support without giving answers. Like bowling bumpers, mentors offer nudges and guidance, encouraging mentees to navigate their personal growth paths. The focus lies on answering questions, reminding them of guiding principles, and gently steering them towards self-discovery and industry expectations. Transformative churches develop cultures of leadership and processes of leadership development that equip ownership and participation by the entire faith community. They facilitate environments that empower laity, rather than environments that are clergy-centric or staff-driven, while developing the character, competence, and Christlikeness of multiple leaders across the church. As a result, the faith community becomes decentralized—flattening both the tiers of responsibility and authority–and fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration. Patrick Ghielmetti, president of Ghielmetti & Associates, is Jonathan Humphries' guest for this episode of the HoCoSo CONVERSATION.Patrick is a transformational leadership coach, and conducts workshops and cultural change programs across 35 countries. In part 1 of this discussion, we'll be looking at the principles of leadership, looking at the differences between a change versus a transition; the four principles being :Commitment Responsibility Authenticity and ContributionWe'll be looking at the difference between static and dynamic leadership, acceptance versus resistance, how it's important to react from a neutral position which is acceptance: not judging, not good or bad or right or wrong, only from the opportunity for growth. The question is: Are you committed to generating your results? The need to lead dynamically is a requirement for this, and the four principles of leadership support our choice. We'll also be looking at how we put aside ego to grow as a leader and make better decisions going forward. What we are committed to, makes the difference. “I'll handle it because I said so”. Our wellbeing ultimately determines our values. For example, when I say to myself “I will make this happen whatever it takes".
