Listen to this conversation with guests Dr. Yolanda Montgomery, a nurse, advocate, and the founder of Zoë Ministries, a nonprofit established in 2012 to combat human trafficking in Delaware and beyond, and Sara Poore, the Executive Director of the Delaware Anti-Trafficking Action Council (DATAC), leading statewide efforts to prevent human trafficking, support survivors, and strengthen community partnerships. In this episode, we discuss:What is human trafficking, and how does it show up in the lives of children and teens in the U.S.?Why might children who have experienced foster care, adoption, or relative caregiving be at higher risk for trafficking? What role do things like running away, online activity, or mental health play in increasing risk? Are there particular ages or developmental stages when children are most at risk? What systemic factors—such as placement instability or a lack of adult oversight—contribute to vulnerability? What signs or red flags should caregivers be watching for in their children or teens? How does trafficking often begin for vulnerable youth? What should a caregiver do if they suspect trafficking or exploitation? If a child discloses trafficking or exploitation, what should a caregiver's first response be?What kinds of services or professionals should a caregiver seek out to help a child recover from trafficking or exploitation? What are some preventative actions parents and caregivers can build into their homes and relationships with their kids? What can caregivers be sensitive to at home, things that may contribute to increasing risk factors for our kids who are more vulnerable to these risks? (What conversations should caregivers be having regularly with their tweens or teens about trafficking risks? What resources, hotlines, or support networks should every caregiver have saved in their phones, or know about? In addition to being the one safe, stable, nurturing adult in a child's life, what other practical protective factors can parents and caregivers incorporate into their home's daily rhythms?Support the showPlease leave us a rating or review. FRANKOPAN7.mp3 - The Age of Turbulence (1870–1920), Resource Extraction, and Global Migration Peter Frankopan | The Earth Transformed: An Untold History The Age of Turbulence (1870–1920) involved rapid technological growth (telegraph, refrigerated shipping) and intense extractive empire building. Empires monetized resources like rubber, transplanted from the Amazon and causing massive deforestation in the Malay Peninsula. Global economic integration meant US grain could be shipped to London more cheaply than Irish grain. While historical focus is often Eurocentric, migration in the Indo-Pacific region (e.g., India to Southeast Asia) exceeded transatlantic migration, creating current geopolitical sensitivities. British infrastructure in India, such as railroads, aimed primarily at administrative efficiency. Furthermore, irrigation projects often failed, causing soil salinity due to rapid water evaporation in high temperatures. Scientific awareness of global warming predated the 1883 Krakatoa eruption.

Click here to send us a topic idea or question for Weekend Wisdom.Question: We very recently brought home our second child through domestic infant adoption. We feel very fortunate, and our son is developing well; we are also settling into the new routine. We matched with our Son's birth mother through a local agency, and unfortunately, she decided that she did not want to meet us. She gave no information about the biological father. We know she was caucasian, but honestly, it is unclear whether our son is entirely caucasian or not. The pediatrician said it was a mystery, and he may be caucasian with a darker complexion, or biracial, some amount of Hispanic, black, or any other heritage. We want to do everything in our power to be informed, acknowledge, and celebrate any ethnic background that is presented, but short of doing a DNA ancestry service on a baby that is a few weeks old, I don't really know where to begin- I'd appreciate any guidance you have. Why does God command our joy? In this episode of Light + Truth, John Piper shows from Nehemiah 8:10 how delighting in God gives us strength and displays his glory.
Recording date: 2nd October 2025Welcome back to Compass, Olive Resource Capital's weekly markets and portfolio insights show, hosted by Derek MacPherson (Executive Chairman) and Sam Pelaez (President, CEO & CIO). Each week, we cut through the noise in mining and metals, highlighting the most important macro developments and drilling down into the companies shaping our portfolio. In this episode, we unpack a week of pivotal news for both major gold producers and junior explorers. At the very top of the market, Newmont and Barrick—two of the world's largest gold companies—announced leadership changes on the same day. Newmont's move was a planned succession from COO to CEO, signaling stability and continuity as the company enters a new phase of growth. Barrick, however, surprised the market with an interim appointment following the sudden departure of Mark Bristow. This contrast highlights the broader cycle shift from defensive, balance-sheet-focused leadership to growth-oriented CEOs ready to capitalise on a bull gold market. The coincidence of both announcements has reignited speculation about deeper industrial alignment. With Nevada Gold Mines and Pueblo Viejo already jointly operated, strategic synergies are clear. A combined or further integrated entity could also benefit from passive investment flows, with Newmont's S&P 500 inclusion forcing index-tracking funds to increase their exposure. While no deal has been announced, the industrial and financial rationale for closer alignment between Newmont and Barrick is stronger than ever.Beyond the majors, the week delivered extraordinary news from Olive's portfolio companies. Sterling Metals announced a discovery hole at its Soo Copper project in Ontario - 262 metres at 1% copper equivalent—re-rating the stock by more than 200% in a single day. Years of geological groundwork positioned the company for this success, underscoring the importance of disciplined preparation.Prospector Metals delivered another standout intercept: 44 metres at 13 g/t gold with 1.8% copper at its Mike Lake project. Shares surged nearly 280% and have held those gains. As part of the Discovery Group, Prospector demonstrated how systematic geological work and strong stewardship can unlock transformative discoveries.By contrast, Midnight Sun Mining illustrates the risk of overextended valuations. The company reported nearly 40 metres at .5% copper from its Dumbwa target in Zambia, yet shares fell around 20% as the market had already priced in perfection. The case highlights why entry point and expectations matter as much as geological success. The financing environment also shows renewed strength, with over C$100 million raised across juniors in the past week. With seasonal drill programs now underway, investors should expect a steady cadence of results through year-end. Majors may also lean further into M&A, project acceleration, and capital returns as gold prices remain near record highs.
Katie sits down with David Frum, Atlantic writer and host of an eponymous podcast, to take stock of a dizzying news cycle: a government shutdown framed around false claims about healthcare for immigrants, a surreal Quantico meeting where military leaders were treated as political props, and Donald Trump’s vow to punish his opponents through prosecutions. Frum explains how the U.S. budgeting system turned into a "failure machine,” what’s happening to Supreme Court neutrality, and what it means when Trump spreads vulgar AI videos of his opponents. Frum’s bottom line? This might be a fire hose of news, but it's our duty as citizens to keep up, not tune out.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Last week on this podcast I talked about what Elder Renlund said about the Church needing to do better for women, and I argued for a policy change and for all of us to believe women, particularly when bad things have or are happening. I also mentioned some research, so I want to focus this episode on telling you about this research. I published pieces of this in a Forbes article in February this year, and I'll change the words to focus on our situation. This research has helped me understand why men tend to support men even when those men perpetrate abuse of some kind. And, unfortunately, some women fall into that category too. So why do people support perpetrators? This research was focused on sexual misconduct allegations in the workplace, but its applications are beyond. I know I've been focusing a lot on abuse, but it feels right. I want you to be empowered to act as you are armed with the research! We spoke to Brittany Anderson, an author, certified play and narrative intelligence practitioner, and the founder of Renala, which helps families become creative, vision-driven leaders—beginning at home.In this episode, we discuss:What are the most common concerns that parents and caregivers have about their tween or teen's tech use?Are those concerns more about the amount of time kids spend on devices, the content they're seeking out, or the content they stumble upon? What are the differences in concerns between parents of pre-teens/tweens (11–13) and older teens (16–18)?What does current research say about how much screen time is considered healthy—or at least not harmful—for our tweens and teens? Is the amount of time as important as how that time is being spent? Are there particular times of day when device use is more problematic for mental health (e.g., late at night)? What types of online content are most worrisome for the tweens and teens in our homes? What mental health effects are we seeing most often in tweens and teens related to tech use? What are the symptoms of mental health that parents and caregivers should look for?Why might kids with a history of trauma and loss, prenatal exposure to alcohol or drugs, or neurodiversity be more vulnerable to tech-related mental health challenges? How do issues like attachment, identity, and resilience intersect with device use?Are there specific risks associated with online relationships, gaming communities, or social media for these children? What can adoptive and foster parents, as well as caregivers such as grandparents raising their grandchildren, do proactively to reduce some of these risks before problems arise? What role do boundaries, monitoring, and co-viewing/co-playing have in prevention? How can they help their child develop self-protective, self-regulation skills, such as learning to prioritize their own mental health and manage their device use? If a tween or teen has already had a harmful tech-related experience, what steps should parents/caregivers take immediately? Why do Anglicans use real wine at Communion rather than grape juice? In this edition of Ask the Church, we trace the story from the temperance movement and the invention of pasteurization, to the historical reasons Port became common in Anglican churches. We also address the question of what to do if you struggle with alcohol or gluten, and discuss why, if receiving only bread or only wine, we still participate fully in Communion.

John Miniotis, President and CEO and David O'Connor, Chief Geologist of AbraSilver Resource Corp (TSX: ABRA) (OTCQX: ABBRF), join me to review the next batch of silver and gold drill assays returned on September 30th, from the ongoing Phase V exploration program; which is focused on the Oculto East and JAC zones at their wholly-owned Diablillos property in Salta Province, Argentina. These 6 drill holes continue to expand oxide-hosted gold mineralization to the east of the Oculto deposit and oxide silver mineralization within the JAC zone, highlighting the continued strong exploration upside potential across the Diablillos system. Oculto East: Numerous broad zones of continuous gold mineralization intercepted, including: DDH 25-066: 1.0 metre ("m") with bonanza grades of 108.9 g/t gold from 288 m downhole, as well as 18.0 m at 0.97 g/t gold from 353 m DDH 25-069: 24.0 m grading 1.02 g/t gold from 243 m DDH 25-071: 33.0 m grading 0.42 g/t gold from 69 m DDH 25-072: 140.0 m grading 0.57 g/t gold from 262 m, including 8.0 m at 2.60 g/t gold from 338 m JAC: Strong near-surface silver mineralization continues to expand the Mineral Resource potential, including: DDH 25-053: 29.0 m at 65 g/t silver from 85 m, including 7.0 m at 108 g/t silver DDH 25-058: 32.0 m at 100 g/t silver from 58 m, including 2.0 m at 400 g/t silver John pointed out that these latest drill assays highlight the strong continuity of wide gold zones at Oculto East, together with additional near-surface silver mineralization at JAC. Importantly, these results continue to expand both gold and silver resources well beyond the current Mineral Resource conceptual open pit, and they further demonstrate the scale of Diablillos Project to keep growing. Dave shares the key takeaways their geological team is getting from the continued silver mineralization continuing to the west at JAC, while the gold mineralization is continuing to be delineated in Oculto East. He mentions that they now believe the higher-grade gold intercepts are just the top of a porphyry deposit at depth, and more holes will be testing this in the future, as well as the deeper hole targeting a different porphyry target at Cerro Viejo. Additionally, we circle back to the Sombra target identified in the Phase IV drill program last year, and how it is possible that there is a parallel trend that could extend from Sombra up to Oculto East, and that more drilling will focus on that thesis in the future. Wrapping up John takes us through a number of ways that the company could still keep rerating higher, not just based on the thousands of meters of ongoing drilling, but also in light of how significant the higher silver and gold spot metals prices are to their project economics, and how the prior economics were run at substantially lower consensus metals prices. The Company is doing all the derisking work all building towards their ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study due out in early 2026, which in tandem with permits expected to be received, will be the triggers for a construction decision. Interview with Gerald Panneton, Executive Chairman of Gold Terra Resource Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/gold-terra-resource-tsxvygt-leveraging-rising-gold-prices-with-high-grade-yellowknife-project-6315Recording date: 25th September 2025Gold Terra Resources Corporation (TSXV:YGT) is advancing its Yellowknife gold project in Canada's Northwest Territories, capitalizing on dramatically improved economics driven by gold's rise to $3,750 per ounce. Executive Chairman Gerald Panneton sees significant opportunity to revitalize the historically productive mining district, which was shuttered in 2003 when gold traded at just $340 per ounce. The company has outlined 1.8 million ounces of combined indicated and inferred resources, with a strategic focus on 540,000 near-surface ounces in the Yellorex zone that can be accessed via ramp development within 3-4 years. This approach prioritizes cash flow generation over the more capital-intensive deep underground mining that characterized the original operation.Gold Terra's competitive advantage centers on the Con Mine, a cornerstone asset featuring existing mining lease and surface rights that could reduce permitting timelines from the typical 10-15 years for greenfield projects to approximately one year. "The biggest advantage Gold Terra has with the Con mine as a cornerstone property is that [they have] the mining lease and the surface rights," Panneton explained.Third-party validation came through OR Royalties' $2 million investment to increase their NSR royalty from 1% to 2%, with an option for additional investment to reach 3%. The endorsement followed an in-depth technical review, providing external confirmation of the project's potential.Current gold prices have transformed project economics, enabling potential cutoff grade reductions that could expand the Yellorex zone from 540,000 to 700,000 ounces. Management targets completing a resource update and preliminary economic assessment within 6-12 months, aiming to finalize the Newmont acquisition by 2026.With $3 million in treasury and improved market conditions, Gold Terra enters a critical development phase positioned to leverage both existing infrastructure advantages and gold's structural bull market through disciplined, phased development focused on near-term production potential.View Gold Terra's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/gold-terra-resource-corpSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Everyone has heard the old sports adage, “A great defense is the best offense.” Interestingly enough, the Bible seems to agree – at least when it comes to spiritual warfare and the armor of God. Daily Boost Podcast Show Notes One Mistake That's Stealing Your Most Valuable Resource September 23, 2025 | Episode 5188 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description You grab your phone for two minutes in the morning. An hour later, you're stressed, running late, and wondering how the hell that happened. Sound familiar? Scott dives into the "Triple A" problem that's hijacking your most valuable resource. Teams of psychiatrists and data scientists have one job: capture your attention and convert it into their profit. But here's the thing - your attention is currency, and you're spending it on someone else's dreams while yours drift further away. Time to take it back. Featured Story Scott confesses his morning phone ritual gone wrong. Despite all the advice about not checking your phone until 10 AM, he's an entrepreneur who gets anxious without knowing what's going on. So he allows himself 60 seconds to check messages and news. But sometimes those notes are nasty grams. Sometimes something's broken. Sometimes there's a juicy news story. Before he knows it, that innocent two-minute check becomes an hour-long vortex. He's not alone - social media algorithms are designed by teams of experts whose only job is to capture and hold your focus. The result? You start your day reactive instead of intentional, giving away your most valuable resource to someone else's agenda. Important Points Your attention is literal currency - every notification and algorithm extracts your focus to convert into someone else's profit. Awareness becomes your first line of defense - the moment you recognize manipulation, you can start making intentional choices about where to direct your focus. Every minute in someone else's agenda steals from yours - the question isn't whether you'll follow an agenda, but whose agenda you'll choose to follow. Memorable Quotes "Every notification, every algorithm, every advertisement, it has been designed to extract your attention and to convert it into somebody else's profit." "Every single minute that you spend in somebody else's agenda is a minute you're not spent building your own." "I would suggest that you guard it as if your life depends on it. Because you know what? I think in some cases it actually does." Scott's Three-Step Approach Track your attention like you'd track your diet - use the daily awareness diary with nine control questions to see exactly where your focus goes each day. Make conscious choices about attention direction - once you're aware of the manipulation, you can intentionally choose where to put your mental energy. Take control of your agenda before someone else does - decide what deserves your time instead of letting others decide for you. Season 22 is here — and Girls Night just turned 8! In this special kickoff, Stephanie introduces our new series, Not the Life I Ordered, a single, long, rolling conversation about what to do when your life doesn't look or feel the way you thought it would — especially in The Everything Era, when all the biggest decisions arrive at once. You'll hear the origin story of Girls Night, why this season is different, why so many of us feel disoriented and isolated right now, and a simple practice to turn down the noise so you can hear (and trust) your own voice again. Stephanie also guides you through three clarifying questions and leaves you with four grounding reminders — including this one: It's not too late. In this episode: • The Everything Era (and why you're not behind) • When the formula “A + B = C” fails you • The people-pleaser's trap • How to create quiet in a noisy world • A guided reflection to name what's hard (and why it helps) Resource mentioned: What to Say Script Guide — practical, word-for-word responses for uncomfortable family questions (marriage, kids, timelines & more): stephaniemaywilsonshop.com If this resonates, please follow/subscribe and leave a quick rating & review — it helps more women find the show.
