Understanding the 12 universal laws and how to implement them in our lives with your host Carla Maree

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 29, 2022 36:52

EPISODE – Carla solo episode: The 12 Laws of Living SHOWNOTES The Law of Divine One – everything and everyone is connected. Every thought, action etc affects everyone else. We are all connected subconsciously. We are a part of One and we all want to see others thrive. The Law of Energy/Vibration – everything moves as frequency/vibration and each action and thought has its own frequency. Think positive then more positive things come. The Law of Action – each action will provide a different result. Each action must support our thoughts, dreams and goals for the world. The Law of Correspondence – we are in control of our life, every action we make will be reflected in our outer world and our inner world. Make the internal changes so that the external changes. The Law of Cause and Effect – it is each of our action that creates a reaction. Every statement you make is an example of this Law. What goes around comes around, there is karmic retribution The Law of Compensation – Blessings will come in various forms, money, gifts, friendships etc. Generosity and donations will come back to you. The Law of Attraction – This Law will bring people of things into our life by actions, thoughts or emotions. We use this energy to attract more energy. Once you start to raise your vibration, this will help to raise vibration of things that improve life on your own frequency. The Law of Perpetual Transformation of Energy – this law states that higher vibrations can transform and uplift the lower energies. If you want to create change, you vibrate higher and you let go of the lower energy that keeps you stuck. We want to create the life we desire. The Law of Relativity – in order for us to develop, we have to go through problems while keeping connected to the heart. Whenever we are facing challenges, there are other people worse off. The Law of Polarity – everything has an opposite. We have to experience the ups and downs of life, we have to feel to be sad, so we know what happiness feels like. The Law of Rhythm – everything has a different rhythm in each cycle so it's about getting ready to face the negative part of each cycle so you can recognize some of the things that are negative and then focus on seeing the benefits of this and looking at the positives and also recognizing that this is a cycle. The Law of Gender – this is about yin/yang and masculine/feminine energies. We all possess this. Energy, logic, husting, intellect = masculine energy. Love, patience, gentleness, nurturing etc = feminine energy. Showing and understanding where we can balance this.

An Untethered Soul by Michael Singer In the bookThe Untethered Soul, Michael A. Singer takes you step-by-step through the process of Gyana, the yoga of the Intellect, to the Source Top 10 Best Wayne Dyer Book by Nerdy Creator 1. The Shift “The greatest hunger of all is the hunger for meaning.” This is the first book I read from Wayne Dyer. During my recovery from depression, I had some insights on spirituality but I didn't know exactly what it is and how to explain it. This book speaks to me on a deep level and helps me learn a lot about my experience. It also got me started reading other spiritual books. If you are someone who is always working hard or doing a lot, but somehow still feel unfulfilled in life, this is the book to read. It takes you on a journey from ambition to meaning and let you realize that your spirit yearns for meaning, not ambition. The book is also made into an inspiration movie of the same name and released by Hay House. Wayne Dyer acted in the movie as himself. Print | eBook | Audio 2. Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life “Sharpen a blade too much and its edge will soon be lost.” This book is Wayne Dyer's interpretation of Lao Tze's Tao Te Ching. He spent one whole year reading and practicing the verses of the Tao. It consists of 81 chapters and is meant to be read slowly. You don't have to be a Taoist to receive wisdom from this book. Tao Te Ching is just a way of life and Wayne Dyer makes it easy for you to apply Lao Tze's teaching to your daily life. At the end of each chapter, he provides action steps which you can take to make your life peaceful, inspired and harmonious. If you want to have a book that you can refer to from time to time and remind you to be at peace, this is the book for you. Print | eBook | Audio 3. Being in Balance “There's no such thing as stress; there are only people thinking stressful thoughts.” Wayne Dyer says that everything in the universe is in balance, except we humans. He points out that there is a very subtle imbalance between our dream (our reason for life) and our habits (our way of life). For example, our desire to enjoy life is often hindered by our stressful thoughts of needing to achieve more. This book is not about adopting new strategies to change your behavior. It's about aligning your thinking habits with your deepest desires and restoring the natural equilibrium in your lives. In this book, Wayne Dyer covers nine imbalances that will help you be more aware of these unhealthy habits. This book is suitable for those who feel dissatisfied with their life but doesn't understand why. Print | eBook | Audio 4. The Power of Intention “You feel good not because the world is right, but your world is right because you feel good.” As the book title suggests, this book is about intention. This intention isn't your intention to do something; it's the intention of the universe. Wayne Dyer believes that there is an invisible force and energy field that is bigger than ourselves. When we surrender to this built-in intention in the universe and trust its power, we co-create the lives we desire. This book speaks to the heart. It allows you to feel connected to the universe and its 7 faces — creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansiveness, abundance and receptivity. Not only will this book inspires you, it also provides a step-by-step guide to help you apply these principles into your daily life. Print | eBook | Audio 5. 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace “Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing.” This is a book about success but in the perspective of spirituality. It's not about goal setting, financial planning, or choosing the right career. It's about having inner peace which is what that truly defines success for him. In this book, Wayne Dyer elaborates on 10 principles that will guide you to tranquility. Unlike other books from him, this book is a quick read and doesn't have many personal stories. So it is suitable for anyone who is new to Wayne Dyer's works or spirituality. It's also good for someone who wants a quick recap of his teachings. Print | eBook | Audio 6. Wishes Fulfilled “The greatest gift that you were ever given was the gift of your imagination.” This book is about mastering the art of manifesting and getting what you really really want. The first part of this book gets you to change your concept of yourself and recognize something extraordinary within yourself. As per Wayne Dyer, your highest self is where you realize you are connected to the Divine. When you realize this, you can be anything and do anything. The second part of the book lays the foundation of how to manifest your wishes. The author says that if you want to accomplish something, you must first expect it of yourself. And it's not about making positive affirmations; it's a spiritual knowing. Deep down inside, you must know that you are what you already want to be for the manifestation to work. Print | eBook | Audio 7. There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem “Thinking is the source of problems. Your heart holds the answer to solving them.” This book is about dissolving the problems created by your mind. As per Wayne Dyer, problems are nothing more than mistakes in our thinking. If we tap into the higher frequency of our spirits, we can eliminate any problems in our lives. In the beginning of the book, the author shares his experience on having a heart attack and how he shifted from feeling self-pity and denial to gratitude and love. Even though his heart is still damaged, he was able to find peace and recovered when he shifted his energy from negativity to positivity. The book is suitable for you if you are open to new age philosophies and learning through anecdotes. Print | eBook | Audio 8. Wisdom of the Ages “This book is not about appreciating poetry and philosophy as much as it is about applying the wisdom of these writers to our everyday lives.” If you have read Wayne Dyer's books before, you will know he is fascinated by teachers who lived before us and likes to quote them in his books. For this book, he selects 60 teachers from a variety of eras and cultures and shares his interpretation of their works. The ancestral masters include Buddha, Michelangelo, Rumi, Whitman, and Jesus. At the end of each chapter, he also suggests how we can apply these teachings and wisdom to our modern lives. This book is great for those who enjoy reading poetry or about important people from the past and what they have taught the world. Print | eBook | Audio 9. Your Erroneous Zones “Happiness means no complaining about the things over which you can do nothing.” This book is not only Dr. Wayne Dyer first book, it's also one of his best-selling books. It has sold over 35 million copies! This book teaches you to take control of your life and not base your self-worth on other people. If you have problems with guilt, worry, anger, and procrastination, this book will help you deal with these erroneous zones and get out of the victim mindset. However, if you are used to the author's gentle, inspirational writing tone, this book might not be suitable for you. Before he had deeper insights on spirituality, his writing tends to be more on the motivational side and harsh. He even used some sexual references in the book which some might find inappropriate. Nonetheless, the content in this book is still useful and worth checking out. Print | eBook | Audio 10. I Can See Clearly Now “There is some sort of purpose associated with everything that arrives in your life.” This is a memoir on Wayne Dyer's life. He recalls and shares many of his intimate experiences from the time he was a boy up to the time he wrote this book. Through examining his own personal life, he wants to show us that there are no accidents in life. Each step of our journey has something important to teach us, be it good or bad. At the end of each chapter, he reveals what he has learned from each incident in his life and how they all lined up together. If you want to know the backstory of his books, this is the book to get. In this book, Wayne Dyer shares how he got his first book, Your Erroneous Zones, to become the bestseller and what got him to write some of the books on this list. Alice lives in Melbourne with her two children and coaches new authors polish and pitch their manuscripts to publishers. She is currently writing her third book. SHOWNOTES FOR ALICE: Alice's life into yoga came about in a convulated way from feeling a sense of failure in her current job and facing writer's block and her Dad being sick. She had an awakening on Christmas night where she surrendered to the universe and felt like she had to surrender and let go of everything. When Alice was in that “stuck” place she was stuck in a no mans land and was told by her therapist to give things a try and this is where she stumbled into yoga teacher training. One of the things in the course were designed to get in touch with a deeper sense of herself and found this was a way of getting in touch with her body rather than coping her way through food. Alice talks about the 12 steps programme with food and how she felt during the process as she was also doing her yoga teacher training. Alice lost that desire to binge and starve during this time as she learnt to switch off her rationale brain and she connected deeper into her mind and body. Something shifted during this practice where she stripped away everything she believed and let go of things that she was used to and found she went back to writing. The training allowed her to be more like herself. Alice talks about the thinking vs food and how the programme tackles the mindset around food thought and behaviours. Carla and Alice talk about the power of chanting. Alice talks about her second book – the rules of engagement on social media, restaurants, discusses the world of online dating with Carla. Alice's definition of happiness is about being aligned with her inner voice. Alice's morning routine involves getting her kids ready in the morning, a 15 min yoga practice, and journal for 20 mins until her mind is clear, and does a vipassana meditation and get back into her body. Nothing brings Alice more joy than dancing around to music on YouTube and her favourite is Beyonce, she loves having a good belly laugh with a friend and making people laugh whether it's with her book as it gives her a sense of purpose. Her last meal would be anything with seafood and mangoes. Her all-time favourite book is written by Kate Holden: In My Skin. That we will be happy when we have quit sugar, lost a few kilos, landed that promotion or bought that new pair of jeans.  In reality, this happiness is short lived as we just turn our attention to the next thing that could make us happy. And so, the cycle of chasing happiness continues. making us stressed, anxious and not satisfied with the life that is here for us right now. Fleur has developed a framework “10 pathways to lasting happiness” to help people stop chasing happiness, and instead, to build a set of inner resources that we can draw upon everyday to experience wellbeing( even when life feels busy, unpredictable and messy.) She continued on her journey, and how to have conversations about this for family and work. Four years ago, she wasn’t feeding her own compassion and was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition. This meant that she had to pivot her business an then that led her to launch her app. The Happy Habit App creates a space for people to see what make them happy and to challenge people to get into meditative practices. Through BLUblox, he and his team have developed scientifically-backed advanced light filtering eyewear, that is not being mass produced from a factory in China, but rather their bespoke lenses are manufactured and fitted in Australia, ensuring that each pair is infused with love, care and quality. Andy has utilized his acquired expertise on light and health to educate on the podcasts he has been on. Education is Andy’s number one objective and his previous podcast appearances have not been pitches for his products, but educational content to help empower listeners to create a better light environment and a better life. BLUblox is a brand that truly believes in giving. Through their not-for-profit partnership with Restoring vision they are helping give the gift of sight to those in need with their buy one donate one glasses campaign.   SHOWNOTES Andy is the founder of a company called Blublox a company that creates spectacles that filters out blue and green light to help with improving sleep to increase the amount of melatonin produced. Andy had fun creating the products in the optics lab combining it with the peer reviewed studies to educate patients about the dangers of artificial light. Andy talks about the importance of getting deep, restorative sleep that requires melatonin and talks about the importance of that compared to taking the tablets. His products have helped athletes, entrepreneurs and even mums and dads to help with bringing up children. Blue light is found in two sources - digital devices such as mobiles, tvs, car headlights and the other source is the sun. Some blue light is required to help with increasing your cortisol and serotonin. Blue light can cause cellular damage however in the sun, there is red light that restores the damage but this isn’t present in the artificial blue light. When light passes through the eyes it governs the time it is and entrails your master clock. If you wake up and turn over when you wake up and look at the phone it will tell your brain that it is midday and you miss the morning energy frequency. After sunset, exposing yourself to blue light can keep your brain in a state of wakefulness. This will affect your hormones and circadian rhythms in the future and can be link to chronic conditions like cardiovascular conditions, mental disorders and diabetes for example. Getting natural light into your system in the morning, lunchtime and sunset can help with keeping levels maintained and to give a natural energetic boost when required. Flux and Iris available online can add more red light and reduce then blue light in laptops and computer screens. Himalayan salt lamps near your work station can help. Wearing yellow frequency glasses and keeping an eye on your thyroid can help; even wrapping a silk scarf to prevent then blue light from damaging cells in the thyroid which is the hormonal hub. Animals are also our predecessors for being around this natural light to help. Andy talks about the importance of not wearing sunglasses during the day as they are so dark and can mimic night time. The best thing to do is to assess your natural light exposure and watching the sunrise and blue blocking glasses after sunset is going to help your overall sleep. Andy’s happiness is defined by gratitude and challenges. He spends every morning watching the sunrise and practising mindfulness meditation. The top three sings that make his heart sing are his wife, waking up watching the sunrise and practising mindfulness; and getting emails from people that require his help and receiving their gratitude is overwhelmingly wonderful for him to receive. His fantasy food would be pizza Andy’s all time favourite book is Sapiens and Evolution of mankind. Four hour work week by Tim Ferriss. Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss. The things that is non negotiable for Andy to do is sunrise, mindfulness and manifestation for his daily routine. His manifestation practice involves immersion and for example he and his wife want to live at the ocean so they go to neighbourhoods three to four times a week and imagine what it would be like to be going “home”. The best thing that Andy recommends people can do for their health is to environment, diet, exercise, sleep and mindset. His fantasy dinner guests would be Tom Bilyeau, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, and Tim Ferriss. His theme tune would be The Great Escape theme tune. Good British comedy - Michael McIntyre, Ricky Gervais are his things that make him laugh Andy keeps a gratitude journal to help with keeping those thank you moments special to him and keep the positive vibrations up. How we can help Andy is to tell one person about this podcast or about light and that person can tell someone else because Andy’s message is about empowerment and education.   PROMO CODE: HAPPY to get 15% off products   Things discussed www.blublox.com

BIOGRAPHY Shannah was one of the first life coaches in Melbourne (studied it 20yrs ago) no one knew what the hell I was talking about. Shannah wanted to coach athletes into retirement. She had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from totally not looking after myself which lead to depression due to not being able to move my body how I wanted to – hence got a coach and learnt some self-care and mental health coping strategies. Shannah studied mental health coping strategies for the past 10 years and had coaches working on herself, to be the best version of herself. She built a massive executive coaching business as a life strategist so people can perform optimally (with a view to longevity in career) professionally and still develop a life outside work. She lives, manages and works with CFS and depression on a daily basis and has a great life! As a coach - she provides a safe space for people to have real conversations and unpack what is going on in their minds. She helps people manage their own wellbeing; helps people understand that they are not their job, they are a whole person, their job is what they do - not who they are. Take the job away and who are you - you need to build calm confidence in this space. Shannah started on the speaking circuit 15 years ago to bring life and wellness skills to conferences (before my time) and worked with AFL Players, Swimmers, Track athletes. Approached many AFL clubs - too early for my time, they didn’t want to acknowledge coaching or mental health (recently Ken Sheldon apologised to her and said I was just too early for them even though I could see what was happening) – she wanted to teach a skill set for outside competition, skills that would support them outside of game time.  Also coached members of AFL boards would send players to her and not tell anyone else. Shannah’s books are: 1 - Simplify Structure Succeed 2 - The Life Plan (is the biggest and best seller globally) 3 - Chaos to Calm 4 - Shine 5  - Restore 6 - Ignite - coming out in 2020   Joined with a mum from school and formed business #2 - The Essentialists - teachers of life and wellness skills. Product is The Masterclass of Wellness - we present this workshop globally and work for Deloitte/Macquarie/SEEK/Mercedes etc   TOOLS AND TIPS Values based living - people need to know their values Coping Strategies - breathing, meditation, journaling, gratitude, bookends of the day the most powerful Vision creation Goal setting Habits - are the structure, the foundations, the stakes that need to be addressed Train the brain - set your intentions for the day - the brain is your computer that needs programming Taking responsibility and not playing the blame game - we all have a story - need to move on and be the creator of how we want to feel and what we want to create Upskilling - people are happiest when they are learning and engaged. We can now do this through podcasts, audio books, short courses BE CURIOUS AND MAKE A PLAN FOR YOURSELF PICTURE SHOWNOTES Shannah was inspired by the movie “Wall Street” and worked her way up the chain coming straight out of year 12 and became the first woman to be sat at the trading desk. Soon after she decided to go around the world backpacking and when she came back, wasn’t inspired to be in that job anymore. Shannah went into a “Jerry Maguire” sports agent job instead and loved the relationships with her clients, which meant a lot of achievement based living rather than self-care living. At 28, she was diagnosed with CFS and her life had changed. She still suffers with it but manages it well. She noticed a pattern with athletes as many went into retirement in their late twenties – their identity gets lost too and noticed there was a need to look after our own lives and life skills are not taught. Getting into these build questions about happiness, fulfilment and life skills, getting into the nitty-gritty is where the truth of authentic self comes through and Shannah helps people work through things. Shannah discusses how the first and the last hour of the day are critical because you are in charge of it and can tick the boxes of mental, spiritual and physical wellness in that time too. Ultimately it leaves you happy and fulfilled. Shannah’s definition of happiness is finding inner harmony and contentment within herself The thing that makes Shannah’s heart sing is loud music, watching movies and walking on the beach three mornings a week with her husband Home-cooked Italian pasta is Shannah’s fantasy food, her fantasy dinner guests would be Roger Federer, Lisa Wilkinson, and Oprah Winfrey. Exercise is her non-negotiable thing she must do. Creating a plan of what people can do to help their mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and financial plans is a conducive thing to help with routine. “Give me a higher love” with Kygo is Shannah’s theme tune. What can you do to promote more happiness in your life? This is the question that Shannah invites Carla’s listeners to consider! Fueled by her passion she went for her first job as a chef at a health retreat in Queensland and was told she was “too old” and “untrainable”, she persisted and became a first year apprentice cooking for $5/hour. In her training, she was finding that her training involved a lot of processed and refined food and found disillusioned with the way she was taught, again she persisted and became second in command of the kitchen. Cynthia then became a special food/dietary consultant and eventually opened up her own restaurant with her friends. Her path to looking at food and herbs as healing and raw food diets then became the quest for her and becoming a face for wellness and health of wholefood, plant-based diets on the media internationally. Cynthia’s definition of happiness is waking up and feeling into the potential. Cynthia’s first thing she does as her routine is asking herself, why she does the things she does and goes for a 5km walk. The top things that make Cynthia’s heart sing is growing, being aware, and reflecting and asking herself if she can change and evolve. She loves training chefs and sending them into the next phase of their lives. Cynthia’s last meal on Earth would be rice, olive oil, broccoli and salt! Cynthia believes the best thing we can do for our health is asking yourself where your mindset is. Are you thriving on negative or positive thoughts? How do you harness your potential? Cynthia’s dinner guests would be her son, her husband and dear friends Her theme song is “Coming in from the cold” by Bob Marley The things that make her laugh out loud are her family and friends Her gratitude practices includes thanking herself for being alive and being grateful   THINGS DISCUSSED Website: https://www.chefcynthialouise.com/ Instagram: @chefcynthialouise1 YouTube: Chef Cynthia Louise
