This week I sit down with Blake Eastman from The Nonverbal Group, who's analyzed over 550,000 poker player blinks and is probably the world's top expert on human behavior. Most of what people think about reading tells is complete BS - Blake breaks down what actually works, why your "gut reads" are probably wrong, and how trying to hide tells often makes you more readable. We go deep into how different cultures communicate, why First World social dynamics are kind of messed up, and even a tell he caught on me in mixed games (fixing that one). His insights on behavior aren't just about poker - he's worked with major CEOs, can predict when relationships will fail, and understands how people tick in a way that's actually mind-blowing.One of my favorite parts was breaking down why people think they're good at reading others but are actually terrible at it. Also got into some fascinating stuff about how writing daily and understanding social patterns can transform your life.Looking to understand people better and improve your life at and away from the tables? Bob Miner, a seasoned trader with over 40 years of experience, joined Tom Bodrovics on Palisades to discuss his insights on the current market trends. Bob emphasized that trends and countertrends are based on group psychology and cycles of optimism and pessimism. He shared a story about a "nephew indicator" that is more reliable than economic indicators for understanding market extremes. Bob discussed his approach to trading in the foreign exchange (FOREX) market, highlighting the importance of understanding the underlying fundamentals and technicals of a currency pair. He also discussed the current state of the gold market, noting that it is currently in a bullish uptrend but may be approaching a potential sign of completion. In addition, Bob discussed commodity and inflation indices, specifically focusing on uranium. He believes that uranium may be about to complete a correction before continuing its upward trend. Bob also emphasized the importance of having a plan in place for exiting positions if signs of a breakout failure appear. Bob has been studying the U.S. election cycle and its impact on stock market trends for over 25 years, and he has developed a book that is considered the definitive guide to this topic. He provided a table showing the percentage gain for each month from the spring low to the summer high since 1952, indicating that there has only been one year when there was a loss from the spring low to the summer high. Talking Points From This Episode The importance of understanding group psychology and cycles of optimism and pessimism in predicting market trends. The relevance of fundamentals and technicals in foreign exchange (FOREX) trading, especially in understanding currency pairs. The potential for a bullish uptrend in the gold market, but also the possibility of a sign of completion and the importance of having a plan in place for exiting positions. Tom welcomes Scott Bennett to the show. Scott is the founder of Invest with Rules, a research newsletter that focuses on using rules and trends to make investment decisions. He previously worked at Fidelity Investments for 16 years and was inspired by the 2008 financial crisis to develop strategies to avoid losses. Scott believes that many large investment companies lack a plan for when to stay invested and when to sell, and that risk tolerance should be determined based on an individual's financial situation. He follows a rule-based trading strategy that allows him to adapt to changing markets and focuses on managing risk through defined entry and exit points. Scott uses a chart analysis system to inform his trading decisions, looking for signals such as gas, coast, and break and assessing trends in different asset classes. He aims to avoid significant drawdowns and takes profits by trimming positions when they have risen significantly. Scott also analyzes the energy complex, Bitcoin, gold, and silver to identify trends and investment opportunities. Guest Links:Website: https://investwithrules.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/investwithrules Scott Bennett is the founder of INVEST with RULES, a platform dedicated to helping investors discover stocks that are being bought by billion-dollar fund managers. With over 16 years of experience at Fidelity Investments, one of the world's largest asset management firms, Scott has developed a deep understanding of the investment landscape. Throughout his career, Scott struggled with the same challenges faced by many investors - knowing which stocks to buy, when to stay invested, and when to sell. However, a transformative moment occurred during a dinner with a $200 billion fund manager, where Scott realized the impact of these managers' buy decisions on stock prices. This revelation sparked a relentless pursuit to analyze and understand the trades of billion-dollar fund managers. Scott's research led him to a breakthrough, enabling him to track over a trillion dollars of fund manager buys. He recognized that by identifying stocks consistently being bought by these influential managers, he could uncover opportunities with the potential for significant value growth. This discovery changed Scott's approach to investing and became the foundation of his INVEST with RULES platform. Now, Scott's mission is to empower investors by providing them with the insights and confidence to invest without anxiety and fear. He believes that understanding the buy decisions of billion-dollar fund managers is crucial before making any investment. Through his platform, Scott aims to unlock incredible performance for investors who are willing to follow these rules. With a passion for helping individuals achieve financial success, Scott continues to analyze billion-dollar fund manager trades, uncovering opportunities that can potentially transform investors' portfolios.

Dr. Ian Billingshurst popularized what is now known as the BARF Diet for dogs. It's a raw food diet that many believe is the species-appropriate diet for dogs to be eating. From our perspective, it's amazing to see what has happened in the world of human food transition into the world of dog food. Cheap, low-quality ingredients in pet food has led to the deterioration of animal health, however, the raw food diet seems to hold a lot of promise. In our conversation with Dr. Ian Billingshurst, we discussed his approach to uncovering the raw diet, why he believes a species-appropriate diet it the only diet to follow, and practical advice for pet owners. Arnold Villeneuve: The Power of Private Placements

Tom welcomes new guest Arnold Villeneuve to the show. Arnold discusses his early career choices and how he leveraged his interest in computers. This interest has brought him to become an IT Consultant, teacher, and author. Teaching others has improved his skills and taught him the best ways of conveying information. Storytelling is a very useful way of educating others. His book on 'Private Placement Profits' uses these methods to teach others about this overlooked investment instrument. Arnold explains the various types of private placements and how warrants function. Warrants can provide additional upside profit potential than regular investments. Finding private placements can be difficult since you have to actively look for these opportunities. You may have to call companies and ask. If you like a company it certainly doesn't hurt to inquire about private placements. Some placements are only available to accredited investments but this is usually at the discretion of companies. Some companies don't want to deal with small investors. There are some risks not unlike buying stocks and not every placement will do well. However successful placements can outperform the regular market. He notes that most placements are only available for a brief period. Arnold details the concept of "Point of No Concern" which is the point at which you have recouped your initial investment. He describes a few strategies for protecting your investments. Company management is key when evaluating opportunities. Have they had prior success and what assets does the company hold. It's also important to invest when the market cycle is providing wind at your back. Currently, we appear to be entering a new commodity cycle that should improve over the coming years. He makes the case that the current market cycle in broader equities could have a long ways to go. Comparisons can be made to the 1920s and it appears that markets could remain bullish for some time. His love of mining companies came from growing up in Northern Ontario. Today, Arnold is a 30 year veteran of the IT/IM industry, published McGraw-Hill author, Instructor, and conference speaker. As a Certified Professional Cloud Architect with the major cloud providers, he provides cloud consulting and training services. One of his areas of specialization is data analytics and visualization which was leveraged in the development of this book. In his spare time, he uses his technology skills to research private placement investment opportunities, and play with more computers. He is a proud owner of two “temi” robots which he is currently integrating with the cloud to reboot Skynet. He is owned by two rescue Dachshunds, Mickey and Mac, which he has not yet been able to integrate with the cloud without their knowledge to have better control over them (they're clever!), an issue which he hopes the new Skynet will solve. Hope springs eternal in the heart for technology to solve everything!

Tom welcomes Ted Oakley, Managing Director and Founder of Oxbow Advisors, to the show. Ted explains his upbringing and why that led him to form two of Texas's largest foster child foundations. As a child, he had to work starting from six years old. Fortunately, he was able to get very educated and eventually ended up in New York City. Ted discusses how the upcoming job numbers may improve over the past months performance but notes that it's hard to measure real employment numbers accurately. The jobs and family act need to be passed so that society at large obtain some return on that money. We need to stop paying people to stay home. Based on discussion with those on the front lines of the housing market, he feels that we are past the point of peak mortgage growth. Ted outlines three possible scenarios for inflation and discusses which seem the most likely. He also explains how the PPI acts as a measure of wholesale prices and why it tends to be more accurate than the CPI. Good companies will already pay their employees well to prevent turnover and maintain a good product. Companies that don't take this approach will experience pain as wages spike. Oxbows equity strategy is to find companies that have 15% growth potential over the next five years. Few companies can sustain that growth rate. In addition, they try to find companies that are also at a discount along with a low debt burden. You want gains to be built on gains, and selling stocks means paying taxes, so it's good when you can hold equities for an extended period. He explains the role of gold in their conservative and high-income portfolios at reducing risk. He likes many miners because their balance sheets and cash flow have improved massively. You want companies with cash on hand and those well-positioned to take advantage of metal prices as they move higher. They like the royalty side of the market and combine those with a few good resource equities. Today on the show Jayson is talking with Elizabeth Frazier, an activist, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and survivor of sex trafficking. As early as 4 years old, she remembers being groomed by her parents. Her earliest memory is her mother pulling up to a motel and instructing her on which door to knock on and what acts she’d been engaged in. She lived in a wealthy neighborhood, so being led into this lifestyle by her parents wasn’t one to make ends meet but to exploit their own children. At about 11 to 12 years old, she became aware of what she was being forced into and didn’t feel safe or content in her home. She has forgiven her family for how she was treated but has not forgotten. She’s persistent in sharing her story in the hopes to shed light on trafficking and provide a voice to those who may still be in that situation. Founder of Hero Bands, an online shop that sells metal bands and bracelets to strengthen survivors of abuse Links:  Follow True Underdog on IG: www.instagram.com/true_underdogReach out to Jayson directly at jayson@trueunderdog.comFollow Jayson on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jayson-waller-/Follow Jayson on Instagram: www.instagram.com/jaysonwallerbamCheck out our website to meet the team, view show notes and transcripts: www.trueunderdog.com Mentioned in the Episode: Elizabeth’s Website: www.herobands.comElizabeth’s Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/hero_bands/Elizabeth’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/herobands/ Timestamps: 1:31 - Elizabeth’s Background3:25 - Elizabeth’s Forgiveness5:15 - Gaining Perspective From Becoming a Parent7:26 - What is Sex Trafficking?9:05 - Elizabeth’s Entrepreneurship Journey12:45 - Empowering Yourself and Others15:23 - Digital Platforms to Help Identify Sex Trafficking18:24 - Elizabeth’s Relationship with Her Parents22:44 - Starting a Business After Experiencing Trauma26:27 - It Takes Little Steps to Get Stronger Every Single Day
