The Trimaran makes it's debut.By 2soon2no – Listen to the ► Podcast at Steamy Stories. Cujo was working on the port side engine when his cousin Kim warned him about the vessel approaching. It had no identification on the radar, and in these waters it could be a pirate ship or a fishing ship, so it had to be observed, in case rough measures were called for.Marko was at the helm of the Flipper, and the radio quickly squawked out his warning."Unknown vessel please identify yourself and hold off," He instructed, just to be formal. If the ship was fishing, it would not be likely that they would have a radio.Their salvage craft had not been named yet, although radar would show it as 'SV Jenny'. Kim knew what to do, bearing off at the best angle of escape, while the Flipper stayed on their beam."They have changed direction in an obvious move to intercept us," Kim shouted out for Cujo, so the big guy would get ready for action. When he came up top, he had a military shotgun and a flak vest, with another vest in hand for his friend."Mayday, mayday, I have an unidentified vessel pursuing us at high speed, and we will be repelling any attempt to board us," Marko informed whoever was listening. His vessel could easily get away, but he was running security for his friend, and he was well equipped to do just that."Fire that 50 cal well in front of them Marko!" Cujo commanded.Ten seconds later another cousin, who had military training fired their old machine gun, making a hell of a racket which any sailor would respond to immediately. The response unfortunately was the opening of the port side windows and the barrels of two AK47s were pushed out, and fired without aiming."Rake it!" Cujo commanded over the microphone, just as Jasper opened fire directly at the waterline at the bow.The 50 caliber bullets tore through the boat as if it was paper mache, and the nose dipped enough to know that the boat was damaged badly enough that it might not make it to shore. The pursuit was over, and Cujo was satisfied that they hadn't deliberately killed anyone. There would be no assistance offered to the Honduras Pirates, but the incident was reported without mention of the machine gun."I'm heading back down to finish that turbo repair," Cujo told Kim. "Let Marko know they did great, but they can't go ahead of us until we are well into Belize.""Eye eye Admiral," Kim joked."Keep some eyes on the horizon tonight, I want three on watch at a time so there will be no surprises," Cujo growled, "They must be desperate, if they're attacking two vessels, watch closely for another ship.""Try to put me on a late watch, if I get this engine going, we'll be motoring faster than anyone else can go." Cujo growled as he pushed himself into his 24th hour.Kim heard the port engine roar to life about an hour later, and ten minutes later Cujo came up, looking tired, but triumphant."Let's open her up but watch the temp," he commanded his first mate. The sails were no use to them at this time of year, unless they wanted to smash against the current and the wind.Soon they were up to 7 knots, and Cujo knew that they would never be caught at that speed."Can I get two hours Kim?""Sure, bro, I've got the helm and I'll wake you in 2 hours or sooner if I need you.All he got was a thumbs up as Cujo dropped into a lounge chair. He was snoring in less than five minutes.Kim let him sleep until he couldn't stay awake himself, and then he woke his captain with a light touch on his well muscled shoulder."Sorry Cap, but I need you," he explained the situation."The sun is on the horizon, and Terry is at the helm on the Flipper,""Thanks for the extra Z's Kim, I'm getting old," Cujo murmured."Well, with good Captaining, and our 50 cal, you get to be another day older bro," Kim explained the way things work."Those other dudes either had a life raft, or they're in the drink, cause their boat disappeared from the radar, well before it should have," Kim reported."Good riddance to thieving rubbish," Cujo growled, "They poked the wrong bear," he roared out to the wind. The rest of the sail was uneventful, and they found themselves coasting into their dock two days later, with kids running out to welcome them. Other Captains used their horns to welcome the new addition to the Seafaring Delight Charters. They now employed over a dozen Belizians in the business, while they were mostly part time, that is the way they liked it. In Belize, working more than 20 hours a week was scoffed at. There was fishing and diving and farming to provide food, so why work your tail off?Marny didn't see it as working. She just kept on going, like the energizer bunny on the commercial. She keeps going and going..."We need more dock space," she complained, "...but Old man Burly has me hemmed in!"Java had to be the voice of reason. "You're just going to have to see what he wants mom, he's got us by the short hairs, and he knows it. See what he needs," she suggested."I think I could convince him to sell, if I threw you in for a night of bliss," Marny teased her daughter, recalling how often the old man came out of his home, when Java was working on the dock."Don't be offering my virtue, he'd fuck you just as quick mom, I mean, if he can!" Java giggled.Marny knocked on the wooden plank that Mr. Burly called a door."Hey Tomas, are you home," she hollered, while banging her fist on the door."Don't break it down you crazy bitch," Tomas Burly moaned as he pushed the door open, proving that hinges were actually a part of the mechanism. "Why are you interrupting my nap?" he declared."We want to buy out your 75 feet on our South," Marny explained. "What do you want for it Tomas?""I need two things, Mar, and one you don't got!" Mr. Burly instructed his neighbor. "I need to sell both sides, which I bet you can cover, but I need a nice retirement spot, and a woman to cook and comfort me during my old age."Marny thought about it, and realized that it was not only a reasonable request, but she probably had a cousin or two that Tomas could choose from, with their own cabin too, though it was a 'shack' by North American standards, they were good homes to them, and when a cyclone tears them down, they just gather up the debris, and remake their homes, better than they had been before, which wasn't asking too much."I'll get back to you, but in the meantime, how much for both ends?" Marny needed to be prepared to hear the full cost of their expansion."I'll take 100k for the 200 feet, or rent it to you for 10, per year,'' he shrewdly offered."How about 10 percent of our profits for ten years, and a home to enjoy it in," Marny countered."I need 25 thousand for my bar tab," he insisted."We will cover that," Marny offered, and Tomas shook her hand. "You can start your dock work right away then, but what about the woman?" He moaned hopefully.I can make no promises there Tomas, but if you continue to maintain the docks, we will give you a small pension, and all of my cousins love a man with a pension, and you can take your time picking one, she shrewdly offered her captivated neighbor. His eyes hadn't left Marny's upturned nipples during the entire conversation. She had been smart to negotiate topless."Is it really hard, Tomas," Marny asked in a smoky voice."Yes," he grunted, but his mind was elsewhere."Do you want to yank it right now Tomas? Go ahead, let's see it," Marny whispered.Tomas pulled it out, and started to slowly stroke it, not like a maniac at all.His penis didn't look like some shriveled piece of liver. It was actually not too awful looking Marny thought."My cousins will shake your world Tomas, very like how I am going to do you right now," Marny explained, then she dropped to her knees and she gently took over yanking the old dick on her tits, smiling all the time."My Aunties love the taste, but it's not for me," Marny explained with a laugh, as Tomas Burly sealed his deal with his loving neighbor.Marny would sleep well tonight, knowing that a friendship with Tomas was very much in their best interests. The Burly brothers had worked hard to create these docks, and they had been well maintained."Can you watch the kids tonight mom," Java asked, her husband had been away for 5 days!"Of course my dear, that's what Nana's are for!" Marny responded, smiling inside. It's wonderful when your daughter finds a man like Cujo, and she has him mesmerized. But you couldn't blame a Nana who has 'accidentally' seen her son in law's full erection. That is something that she could not see, and then, 'not see'.She also knew that Java kept it spicy in their bedroom, bringing in swinging couples, with confidence. Java had Captained many times now that they had two functioning vessels, and that didn't seem to bother Java or Cujo."We are going to check out every cabin in our new boat," Java confessed to her mother. "I asked Rob to show me how I would have been ravished, if he wasn't there to save my virtue." Cujo's real name was Rob, though only the family knew it. Cujo was a name that Stephen King would have called him, had he known him.Rob was a lot like a St. Bernard in that he was bigger than normal, stronger than normal, and more loving than you could ask for, unless there was trouble... Then you wanted Cujo, and you wanted him on your side.A third charter vessel would really set them as a high end Retreat and Spa."We need two more Captains, and I'm thinking we can entice a couple of Nurses that have, or will soon have their Certified Sexual Therapist credentials," Shylo explained during their weekly Company Meeting. With their medical qualifications they can certainly get work visas in Belize, and they could get permanent resident status in about 5 years, if they want that option. As the Company grew, their client list grew too, even though their required advance screening, now included a discrete psych evaluation with the blood work, and visual inspection, which could include other testing, etc. They considered themselves lucky, that herpes or genital warts hadn't slashed through their ranks, and now they had simple protocols that reasonable adults might want to put into place, if they're going to have adult fun in the sun!Chloe was a great choice. She was on the stout side, but that made her more commanding, which wasn't lost on a Captain. She had proven to be a great repeat crew member, and she wasn't attached to any one person in her Chattanooga neighborhood. When a big student debt was revealed, Shylo's institution was happy to shift some funds, to relieve that debt, and give them a big tax write off too.Chloe would get an offer that would include shares in the business, so that she would have a personal interest in everything. Shylo flew to Chattanooga to make the offer on behalf of Seafaring Delight Charters. Everyone was confident that Chloe could learn the skills to be a Charter Captain, but Chloe decided to take a 6 month sabbatical from the Hospital, which she could gain through her Union as a 'skill enhancement' period. She was newly certified in Sexual Therapy, so taking 6 months in a clinical environment to solidify those skills was not unusual, though it brought a smile to everyone's face."I fully believe that you will only be back here to sell everything that you can't bring with you," Shylo explained to Chloe."I hope you're right, I am tired of 'not quite fitting in'," Chloe sighed. "I never really feel the love, anywhere that I go.""We need to figure out the Who of what you're looking for," Shylo suggested. "Or the multiple 'Whos," she seriously intoned. "Some people don't connect like others do. "What part of the body do you find the most attractive Chloe?""Well... to tell you the truth, I just love the mouth," Chloe admitted. "It can be a man, a woman, old or young, if I see it, I want to lick it and kiss it, and look at it closely.""Unusual," Shylo admitted, then she ran her tongue slowly around her lips, while Chloe watched."Oh, that's not fair," she squealed."Do you want these lips on your pillow? Chloe? Do you want to love them for the night?""Oh, so unfair," she moaned.Shylo did not take off any clothes, she merely lay in Chloe's bed, with her lips, center stage.Chloe began with little kisses, all around Shylo's open maw. Then her tongue couldn't get enough, with kitten licks she tickled a lip, while her hands were probing Shylo's body, removing clothes along the way.The kissing never stopped as Chloe pushed her fingers into Shylo's love nest. She easily found the G spot, and lightly started to stroke her desire into her lover, while she remained obsessed with Shylo's lips."Oh, my dear, you're going to find lots of love in Belize," Shylo was convinced that Chloe's fetish would not be a problem. "Once your lover knows what you want, you will be loved, my beautiful friend, and with that Shylo burst into an orgasm, and she allowed herself to fully express her passion, to Chloe's delight.Within three months, Cujo and his crew had Jenny restored to a better state than she had been the day she ran aground. The official naming day brought out the usual scallywags and drunkards, most of whom got 30 or 40 days of work in these yards over the past 3 months, enough to keep them happy for a long time. If you want a cabinet maker or an avionics expert, Belize has the best, and they are all cousins of Marny's family.Marny would be the first to Captain the Emerald of the Fleet. This vessel was being premiered as a luxury health spa, so the weekly fee was a staggering $10k per person. They had three couples in for the maiden voyage, so it would be caviar and shrimp, produced by the best chief that Marny could scrape up, and she was a cousin!Ruby was 28 years old, and a single mother of 3, her brood would school with Marny's grandchildren, and they would be watched over by her best friend Caraco.
Two Strippers help to crew a Belize Sailing CharterBy 2soon2no – Listen to the ► Podcast at Steamy Stories. Another winter in Hoboken! Not as comfortable as Belize, but it's where the work takes you.Sharon and Pam had a plan now. One that was a little more complete than, 'make a lot of money, then stop working'.Two weeks in the sun would make anyone want to relocate south, but running a sail charter, like the one they had crewed, had the advantage of putting a roof over their heads, and bringing in an income. The paradise of the Caribbean is just a bonus!Pam was the first to start working at Charlot's Way 6 years ago, first as a waitress, then as a part time stripper, which always leads to a full time peeler.Sharon came along, when Pam was just learning to strip. As a waitress, Sharon was a disaster, dropping trays all over the place. With her good looks it was only a matter of time before she was forced to make the move, or to find other employment.Soon they were a couple, so Sharon following Pam into the shadowy world of stripping, was inevitable. Then, they found that Sharon was a natural exhibitionist. She loved to peel! She loved to make people horny! She loved sex!Pam suggested a move to The Gingerbread House, were the Stage Manager Carol had insisted that there was no hankie pankie with management, and no prostitution or the sale of drugs. Staying at the old joint, meant blowjobs for management and security, and the constant draw and trouble, created by the other vices. Most Exotic Dancers are lured by, and sustained by the big bucks, but these two ladies were rare gems, they love the sexy job, and the lifestyle that goes with it!"We have more than enough for a down payment for our own Cat, and I don't want to wait," Sharon pouted, as she changed into her stripper outfit.Pam took in her partner's beauty, with a sigh. She was only a year younger, and yet she had the patience and impulse control of a child."It would be ridiculous to throw away money on a new boat, only to have Marny and her daughter, tell us that we've wasted our money! We want to invest, and eventually join them, full time," Pam explained. "Lets chat with them, and maybe visit again, before we do anything that can't be undone!"The night was a good one, with plenty of lustful touches from a cougar that one guy brought with him. They came right through to the Emerald Rooms and asked for Pam and Sharon. She was paying, while he just watched, and sipped his coke.Sylvia was around 45, and carried an extra 25 pounds, but she carried it proud, and high! She had a heavy duty lift-up bra, a modern corset and a fun filled heart. She went home, hot and wet, and they both wondered what she did to quench that thirst. For their part, they had each other.Sunday morning they thought it would be good to call early, so Pam found the number that Marny had given her, as soon as she had the coffee machine working."Seafaring Delight Charters, how can I help you," said a sexy young voice, on speaker phone."Hi, this is Pam Davis, my friend and I sailed with Marny last month," she started."Oh, yes, mom told me about that cruise, you guys gave those customers the trip of a lifetime, please tell me you're calling for a repeat trip," she replied with unguarded delight."Well, Sharon and I are interested in investing in your business, and we would love to come down, fairly soon to talk about it, if you and your mother are interested," Pam responded, hoping that Marny might have mentioned our conversation. There was unintelligible murmurs in the background, then Marny came on."Hi girls, Java says you're interested in working with us, or investing?""Yes we need the sun!" Sharon jumped up and put her two bits in." I think what we need is another week, and a serious sit down with the owners of Seafaring Delight Charters," Pam concluded. We were going back in two weeks! They had a trio of Nurses in for the next 14 days, and they were steady customers, with 8 Nurses from the Chicago and Detroit hospitals rotating in, they crewed as much as 1/3 of their charters. All of the Strippers at any of the Steward House Properties were owners of their own business, not employees, so getting time off was more a matter of letting Carol know their availability. As their financial manager she also advised them about money matters."You can self direct up to $50,000 each from your 401ks for foreign investing, but any further, and you would need to take out a loan or pay the income tax on your pension money," Carol advised. "If you work for five more years, you will be able to retire, but only if your expenses are low, as they would be in Belize."The big man that picked them up at the Belize Airport, wore coveralls, and his hands were rough and stained with grease."Sorry ladies, but my work on engines has made it so that they never come totally clean, until the work is done, which it seldom is," he said, then introduced himself."I'm Java's husband Rob, but you can call me Cujo, everyone does," he announced with a broad smile, as he grabbed the two duffels that sat at their feet. "If you don't mind having a drink with me, I will be able to grab our patrons too, when their flight gets here from Vancouver. The flight had been a bit rough, so getting a drink was a fabulous idea, but Cujo knew a better place than the airport lounge. In minutes they found themselves at an ocean side bar, where the breeze from the water, and the cool drinks, made it feel like paradise. Everything went on Cujo's tab, and they were able to quiz him on the size and scope of the business."My boat is the fastest one around," Rob explained proudly. "If the Cat needs supplies, or someone needs to get to or from the anchorage fast, our 'Flipper' can travel a day's sail, in about 2 hours."We have our own dock, which you have seen, and it's in great shape, but the office is just a shack, and serves more as a storage place than anything else," he continued."The Cat, which you know as Marny's 'Pearl', is fully paid for, and I keep everything working," he proudly explained. It was obviously something that he took great pride in."Our dock is to the North of Belize City, in an area dominated by fishing boats," Cujo reported. "We normally hire my cousin to transport our guests, since the shuttle to the Ferries go the other direction, but today he is having his daughter's birthday, so you got me," he cheerfully finished. We only got through one Tequila Sunrise each, before we had to leave for our next customers, three Canadians from the West Coast. One was actually called 'Jaque', and it was pronounced jock. He was 5ft4 and all of 110 pounds! His two friends were average guys in their late 30's, a little on the 'out of shape' side, but not bad.Pam thought they looked passive enough, that we would be able to chat with Marny on this trip, instead of non-stop sex!Sharon was intrigued with Jaque. "I'm going to have to check your I.D.," she teased him right from the start, while his companions roared with laughter.Jaque just smiled, showing his good nature. "I'll show you plenty, young lady, but it won't be my I.D.," he responded, then thrust his hips out suddenly. "Blam," he shouted, as his friends continued laughing.Sharon laughed even harder, as we piled into the back of Cujo's pickup, where there were fold out benches. Raised rails on the side, made it safe, and airy for the short ride, but it was too windy to talk.On the dock, Cujo would have carried all of the luggage if the guys had let him, but he did insist on carrying the ladies gear."I will have to leave you to stow your own gear ladies and gentlemen," our driver friend proclaimed. "Marny will be here soon, and you're already loaded with provisions. Just make them a drink, and get to know them," he said, to no one in particular."All of the cabins are the same, guys, so pick one, and meet us in the lounge," Pam suggested. They did not take long. With only two women available, they fought their way to be first, up and down the gangways to the cabins, while Sharon found the mixer, and made a giant pitcher of vodka and a mix of orange, pineapple juice, and some fresh mango and ice, all ground together to make a slushy drink that the ladies loved. Jaque was happy to try it, but the other two chose the local pale ale."So, you guys have been here before, right," Pam asked, while wondering what they would expect from the crew."Oh yes, darling," Charlie began. "Our crew last time was Suzie and Cherie, two nurses from Minneapolis. They were veteran sailors, and they really showed us the ropes," he chuckled as the others nodded their heads, indicating that there was plenty of action on that cruise."Nurses, wow, you guys got lucky there, and your sailing skills are probably better than ours," Sharon replied, "We let Marny do most of the sailing while we entertained the guests."Jaque was smarter than he looked, as he reached over and took Sharon's hand."Can I show you something in my cabin," he said, without a twinge to suggest that he wanted anything sexual."Sure," Sharon spouted, as she jumped from the chair. The two scurried down to the forward port side cabin, and the sound of the closing door was followed by Sharon's squeal, as Jaque kicked his sandals off, and he pulled his shirt over his head."Let's see it," Sharon shouted, then the rest was muffled, though there were thuds and bumps. Two minutes later Sharon called out, "Pam, you have got to see this."Chuck and Brian just smiled, as if they expected this to happen, so Pam went to have a look. When Pam got to Jaque's cabin and opened the door, she found the two on the double bed, with Jaque's cock laid out, as if it was a cut of meat.It was not fully erect, but it was a foot long!"Wow, what are we going to do with that!" Pam exclaimed while her two friends behind her just laughed.Sharon got to work on it right away, taking the head in her mouth she gave it a little suck, then ran her tongue all over it."I think you've got this sister, I'll take care of the other two, but don't take all day," and with that she closed the door behind her."Do you guys want to fuck me together, or one at a time," she joyously announced to their delight. Neither one was willing to wait, and Pam had handled two at once, more times than she could remember. The three crossed over to the starboard side, Pam took the initiative by pulling her shirt over her head, revealing her perky C cups just to get the party started. The guys were nearly as fast, but Pam was still first on the bed, leaving her pussy exposed and ready for company!Soon Brian was smooching and playing with Pam's tits, while Charlie was showing some good moves with his tongue work on the clit, while his hand searched for her evasive G spot."Men always want to hit that G spot, like it's a kettle drum," Pam whispered in instruction, "I like a light touch, or a tongue!" she squealed as Chuck's tongue slipped into position. "Oh! This could be fun!" she exclaimed. It was over an hour, before the beds started to empty, and it was only the sound of Marny's voice that got Sharon in motion. She had been sipping a diet cola, impatient to get underway, but understanding that the customer should always cum first!Captain Marny had us in the channel 15 minutes later, as her experienced crew knew where everything was stowed. We motored our way past the stone break wall before we set sail for open water.Pam and Sharon each wore a thong, While Marny wore bikini pants with a white long sleeve top with anti UV properties to protect against the sun.Marny was a good looking 40ish native woman, with a thin athletic body from decades of hard work. Yet she wore a modern, stylish outfit, through which you could clearly see her nipples. Her upturned A cups really looked good, especially when she got excited! The Captain ordered a dose of sun screen for all hands, so we got together on the forward deck and enjoyed the application process, much more than the directions suggested. This was not Marny's first time, seeing Jaque with his giant dong, but she gave the girls a big smile when it first came out."You don't see many like that, do you girls," She shouted, as we all nodded.Brian and Chuck watched, while the two ladies gave their friend a tongue bath. Jaque kept it shaven, and claimed that he was the only Canadian man that shaved his pubes!Everyone laughed at the sight of Jaque, wearing his Speedo, with his cock pointing straight out. The cream was applied there too, but Marny suggested that it would be wise to keep it out of the sun. They were heading for a further anchorage on day one, but the sea was nearly flat, so Marny sent everyone below when it was time to get the dinner started.Sharon asked Brian to help her cut up the veggies, so his job was to hold her steady against the rise and fall of the vessel, while Sharon diced up the vegetables. In spite of wandering hands, she had the salad ready in 10 minutes.Pam and Jaque got the marinated fish, already in tinfoil, with garlic mint and butter and took what they needed to the BBQ on the starboard transom.Marny had us anchored by the time the feast came up on deck, to be eaten buffet style. The evening was spent, with drinking and conversation, as we got to know each other. The ladies explained what life was like as Strippers, at a club not too far from the Statue of Liberty, but they did not reveal their interest in buying into Marny's Charter business. The men insisted that the ladies should show their talents, and a beginner's class in stripping was soon underway.Music was important, so Marny found a station out of Mexico, and the two Professional Dancers gave a lusty dance, complete with the wagging of their pussies in the men's faces. Eventually Brian grabbed a mouth full of Sharon's tit, while she had his dick in her hand. Charlie was all over Pam, while she worried where that giant cock was going.Marny jumped down from her seat at the helm and went straight to our little man with the big prick.Even Marny was an inch taller than Jaque, but it was his famous cock that she was after. She lay him out, and pulled his swim suit to one side, wrapping her hand around it, she brought his full Monty to her mouth, and pushed the mushroom head into her wide open pie hole! When she pushed down, it only traveled 4 inches, where it stopped at her throat, but would go no further. After a few moments of frustration, she started to move her hands to make the filatio as enjoyable for Jaque as she could make it
Summer Sailing in Belize, with a crew of ladies.By 2soon2no – Listen to the ► Podcast at Steamy Stories. Dateline: Hoboken, New JerseySaturday nights were my favorite.I suppose that is true for most people around the world, and I had much in common with many of those lives... but for a stripper, Saturday is often the end of the stripper week.Peeling always made me horny, and finishing the night in the privacy of the Emerald Lounge, entertaining a married couple in their 40's, out on 'date night', had me lusting for a lamp post! The guy hadn't even touched me, but I always let the ladies have more freedom. The drinks were running up a big tab, but this guy wasn't going to be able to keep his pants on, so he ended the session early. I was so wet, I could just strangle her and take her place, but I have more discipline than that.I finished my night dancing in the main room. Sharon and Pam were entertaining some guy they had danced for before, and I was going back to their place when the night ended.I was anxious for another trip to the sun, when Pam told me about Seafaring Delight Charters. They are a Sail Touring company working out of Belize. For the right woman, they offer a free sailing vacation in the Caribbean and in return, they must crew the ship. For the right man, they offer a sailing delight, with lusty women running the ship! The implication was obvious, but not stated. The ladies had to submit a 30 second video, while the men had no such requirement. Hmm. Then the price tag! Starting at $4,000 per week!Pam vouched for the company. Her sister learned how to sail with this company, and goes back every year. She always has fun, and has never been forced to do anything she doesn't want to do.We got together after work Saturday night, and had a blast in their apartment above The Pizza House.Greta came upstairs, with her full crew, but most of them kept to the porch, where smoking was expected. After a few puffs, I decided to check with the girls, to see when we were going to make our video.Greta and her latest guy were chatting with them, in the living room."Barry, are you giving Greta what she needs, down there?" Sharon asked, indicating with her extended hand, towards Greta's crotch."Whatever she desires Miss., she is too beautiful to resist," he replied, with his face turning red. Barry was the same age as Greta, around 50, and he wasn't comfortable talking about such matters."Shush child!" Greta laughingly chastised her stripper friend, but rose to excuse herself."Barry has something to do too, ladies," she took her man's hand and pulled him to his feet, then they headed home.Pam opened up her laptop, and set the program running."Hi, we three girls would like to learn how to sail, and we understand customer service," she finished with a smile.Sharon continued with her, rehearsed line, "We know the rules, and are willing to 'play' within them." Another flirtatious smile..."...and though we hope for sunny sky's, we know how to enjoy a rainy day." I finished, with a wink.A bit bold, but we were hoping for an early spot.We were happy with the first take, and we managed to fill out the documentation side, before the session tumbled into their king size bed.Two weeks later, to the day, we celebrated our Saturday night, in the traditional way, but this time we would be flying out of O'Shea in the morning, bound for Belize City, via Dallas.Simone honked about 10 in the morning, and we were ready, but not downstairs yet. She was pissed, to not be coming with us, but we hadn't offered. Besides, she only liked women, so her narrower sexual preference might hamper our chance to grab a spot this late in the season. The flight was uneventful, but the private car to the waterfront headquarters of Seafaring Delight Charters drove so slow, and the air conditioning was so weak, we opened up the windows. We saw the boat, first. It was probably twice the size and three times the height of their little shop.I tipped the guy like a tourist, I was so excited to be out of the chilly drizzly North, and into the land of bikinis and umbrella drinks. Our Captain met us on the dock after we filled out some waivers. At first sight, she was a forty something native woman, with a trim body, and a weathered face. The commanding type, that needed a month or two to get to know. She took us onboard, and went over the rules first. We were to each bunk with a guest, but what happened in that bunk was totally up to us. We were not supposed to spend all of our time with just one of the guests, since there was four of them, and only 3 of us.Our first priority was the safety of the boat, so Marny showed us the ropes, literally. All three of us had a bit of experience sailing, so we knew the terminology, but the sail profile of a big catamaran is quite different from the vessels that we had learned on."We are not in a hurry ladies, if we don't get there today, we will get there on another day, or the one after that," she said with a chuckle. She could smile! We went below to get our bikinis on, and got back just as our guests came down the dock, looking even more out of place than we did. These four men were in their 30's, with one at maybe 40. One had shoulders like a bodybuilder, and one was 40 pounds overweight while the other two looked average. All 4 wore Hawaiian shirts and matching shorts, and they all had a duffel bag over their shoulder, and a small carry-on.Instead of introductions, the Captain demanded an instant departure. She called over Phil, by name."Phil, you assist me at the helm. You other three pair up with the crew, and get those lines in," the Captain gave clear, unaccented commands.Within minutes, she had the engines running, and with expert handling, she pulled us from the dock, and motored us away from shore, destination...fun."Shylo, please take Mark and his gear to where the two of you will be sleeping tonight," Marny shouted."Pam, you have Paul, and Sharon, you get David," let's get that gear stowed ladies, and take a minute to get to know each other."Mine was the starboard fore cabin, though they were all the same."Shylo, is an unusual name, where are you from beautiful," Mark asked, while he plopped his bag at the foot of the double bed. I couldn't imagine sleeping with someone in that bed without being intimate, but I didn't expect that to be a problem for any of us."I was born and raised in Michigan, but the three of us met where we work in New Jersey," I responded. "Pam has a cousin that recommended this place, and we thought we deserved a few weeks in the sun, so here we are.""Are you horny Mark, cause I sure am," I casually asked, and watched his face, as it went from wonder to joy in 5 seconds, so even without a response, I dropped to my knees. The ceiling is too low over the bunks to do any upright fun on the bed, but there was enough room if you're willing to adapt. I smoothly pulled Mark's light flowery shorts to the floor, revealing a fully erect 6 inches.I didn't feel the need to use a condom for a suck, so I pressed down on it, sucking lightly, while running my tongue side to side as it pressed down my throat for the last inch.To my surprise, it was not fully erect, it grew another inch or so longer, and at least a half inch around, while Mark's hands lightly held my face."This is going to be the trip of a lifetime!" Mark announced with glee.He did not take long, maybe two minutes? I did not expect him to hold back, and he certainly did not, as he spasmed a thick and powerful load, mostly in my mouth, but I didn't mind when some smeared on my cheek.I wiped it clean, then told Mark that I had to help the Captain, and left him to put his things, and his thingy away.First, I had to get rid of the top, and get some lotion on my milky white tits."Captain, can I take a minute to get some lotion on," I asked, as I popped up at the helm."I'm sure that Phil will give you a hand Shylo, maybe two," Marny laughed, and nodded to her helper, "You can show Phil to his bed first.""Perfect," I said, and I picked up one of his carry-on's to lead the way."We could hear you and Mark," Phil began, as he pressed one bag into a cupboard without emptying it. "...are you ladies as fun as you look."I dropped his other bag and pressed into his personal space."Well, I can't' see the future Phil, but I think that you and your friends will be inspired to leave a big tip, and... speaking of big tips..."Phil was the older one, with an average build, but his penis was a little bigger than average."I'm really horny now Phil, would you mind fucking me?" I asked, but I didn't wait for an answer, as I scampered onto the bed.Phil paused, to take off his shirt, so I slipped out of my little thong too."How did we get this lucky!" he gleefully announced, as he slid onto the bed, next to me.I tried to keep quiet, as I enjoyed my first orgasm, but I shouldn't have bothered, as Phil made such a raucous that everyone aboard knew what was going on!When we came out to the galley, Pam and Mark were prepping for lunch."Any drinks needed up there," I shouted."We have a beer locker up here, so no," Marny responded.I saw that Pam had taken on my idea of a uniform, topless!Phil put some lotion on me, including a careful massage into my breasts, then I did the same for him, with less of a concentration on his nipples, but I did play with his bulging penis, enough to make him a little self conscious in his tight swimsuit.Sharon came up with David, but he should have been called Goliath! With the shirt off, he was pretty amazing, tanned and toned. His washboard stomach was especially firm.He wore billowing shorts, which suggested to me that he was not as well hung, but I wasn't going to let that stop me, when I got the chance to be with this one!Paul emerged from the entry, having turned to get his bulk through the passage. He was still wearing his Hawaiian shirt."Let's get some lotion on you Paul," I suggested, picking up my high powered tube of cream."Thanks Shylo, I wish I had a chance to put some on you," he said, while his trunks started to tent out a little."Don't worry Paul, this stuff is safe to ingest, so you can suck on my titties, that you admire so much, then you can put some fresh cream on them," I teased.I really needed to do him first, before he lobster-ed in front of our very eyes!I covered his face, and neck, then removed his shirt to put a lot on his very white chest and back. Continuing down I covered his legs too, and I became very aware of his monster, as it peeked out of the side of his shorts.I turned to see if the Captain was watching, and she was. I watched her for a few seconds, and she gave me a nod, so I continued. The shorts came down fast, and I was very pleased to find that he was not a monster in diameter, but he had to be ten inches long! Again I turned to the Captain, and she was staring too.I had to use both hands to help my mouth with this one, but he didn't take any longer than his friend, as he delivered a modest squirt inside of five minutes.I stood back up, and smiled at my new friend, letting his cum trail down my chin, and over my perky tits."We are on water rations for bathing," the Captain shouted. If you get too stinky, you will need to use salt water to rinse, or wait till you can swim."There is a hose at both aft transoms, for rinsing," Marny continued, and motioned with her head in case I didn't know where the aft of the boat was.I gave myself a rinse, but I knew that salt water was not a great rinse for the vagina, and when it dried you felt like you had rolled in the sand. This was the rainy season, so I only had to wait, and a beautiful sunset also brought a squall that rinsed us all off, as we danced around the bow, and bounced on the trampolines. After we set anchor, Marny went below, and pulled out a big bag of marinated grouper, fresh from last night's catch. She asked Pam to put together a salad, and she headed back upstairs to the grill on the port transom. After a great meal, we played the music loud, and drank umbrella drinks till everyone headed for a bed. I saw Marny disappear down the fore hatch that only goes to an equipment locker and a short, narrow bunk.I put Mark to bed, with a smile on his face, and I had about two hours sleep, when the rolling of the boat woke me up.I thought that I had better check in on Paul, to see if he was lonely, and feeling neglected, but I didn't want to knock, so I turned off the hall light and quietly opened the cabin door.

Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/593 Presented by: Northern Rockies Adventures, Drifthook Fly Fishing, Visit Helena, MT, TroutRoutes Sponsors: https://wetflyswing.com/sponsors Join us as we dive deep into fly fishing Belize with Damien Nurre, the guiding force behind Blue Horizon Lodge, renowned for its world-class fly fishing and unbeatable local guides. Damien shares his transformation from a snowboarding enthusiast to a fly fishing guide and lodge manager in one of the most coveted angling destinations on the planet. This episode is a treasure trove for fly anglers dreaming of the ultimate Grand Slam, offering insider tips on tackling Belize's elusive permit, bonefish, and tarpon. Whether you're plotting your next fishing adventure, Damien's insights and stories will transport you to the abundant waters of Belize, promising an experience you won't want to miss. Episode Chapters with Damien Nurre on Fly Fishing Belize 1:35 - Damien Nurre shares his journey from being a snowboarding enthusiast in the Midwest with no knowledge of fly fishing to becoming deeply involved in the sport. His curiosity was sparked at the University of Montana, where his roommate's passion for fly fishing influenced him. Damien's first fly fishing experience was on the Bitterroot River, and despite only catching one fish, he was fascinated by the process. This interest led him to become a fly fishing guide in Oregon, manage a lodge, and eventually move to Belize to work at Turneffe Flats, focusing on managing and running the fishing program. Later, he was approached by the parent company of Blue Horizon to evaluate the lodge's business performance. After a thorough assessment, he was asked to manage Blue Horizon and other lodges in Southern Belize since 2018. 5:43 - He details his progression into guiding on the Deschutes River, starting by purchasing an outfitting business from Num, alongside Chris O'Donnell. After parting ways with O'Donnell, Damien partnered with Full Line Field Outfitters, where he took on a significant role. Eventually, he seized an opportunity to buy a property and launch his own business, Deep Canyon Outfitters, focusing primarily on trout fishing camp trips along the upper Deschutes and steelhead fishing in the fall. 7:03 - He shares his experiences when he joined Blue Horizon, particularly focusing on Lincoln Westby, a well-known and elderly gentleman associated with the lodge. Despite having heard negative opinions about Lincoln from competitors and facing initial apprehension, Damien's interaction with Lincoln completely changed his perspective. 9:19 - We dig into the unique aspects of Blue Horizon Lodge, particularly emphasizing its exceptional guide staff. Damien highlights that, unlike other fishing lodges, their guides share meals and happy hour with guests, fostering a deeper connection beyond the fishing experience. If you also want to experience their top-notch guiding service, join our ongoing Belize School giveaway at wetflyswing.com/giveaway. 12:00 - Damien emphasizes that all their guides are local Belizeans. Belize has a unique regulation requiring tour guides to be naturalized citizens, which involves living in Belize for a calendar year and passing a comprehensive guide school course. Lincoln stands out at 83 for his enthusiasm and skill in guiding, despite having some health issues. Lincoln is portrayed as a mentor to younger guides, ensuring the continuation of quality guiding. Among the guides, Dan is highlighted as one of the top requested guides, having dedicated himself to fly fishing and becoming well-known in the community for his expertise, especially in catching permits. 18:06 - We talk about the unique fishing opportunities at Blue Horizon, focusing on catching permits. Damien explains that while permits are universally challenging to catch, Blue Horizon offers a distinct advantage due to the consistency and number of opportunities anglers get to catch them. On average, it's realistic to expect about 10 shots at permit each day and more during good conditions. The fishery's shallow waters make the experience visually exciting and more challenging, as permits in shallow waters tend to be more wary. He also highlights the benefits of fishing during the summer months, noting that while the popular season starts in mid-February and goes through early June, the summer offers more solitude and less pressured fish, making it his favorite time to fish. Despite fewer anglers, the quality of fishing remains high, with a good chance of catching migratory tarpon in addition to permits. Bonefish are available year-round, providing a nearly guaranteed catch. 21:49 - Damien walks us through the logistics of visiting Blue Horizon Lodge, highlighting the lodge's unique location and the journey to get there from the US. Travelers can fly directly to Belize City from several major US cities, then take a short commuter flight to Placencia, where a driver from Blue Horizon picks them up for a boat ride to the lodge. Their area is characterized by hard coral flats, deep channels, and abundant marine life, making it ideal for permit fishing and snorkeling. 26:05 - We talk about Damien's experience working at Blue Horizon since 2018 and how it compares to his previous fishing activities in Oregon. Damien describes the fishing in Belize as significantly different, emphasizing it as more of a hunting game that requires stealth, precision, and understanding the cautious nature of fish like permit, which are notorious for inspecting flies closely before often rejecting them. Despite these challenges, Damien highlights the similarities between the two experiences, notably the joy of being immersed in nature and escaping the routine of daily life. 27:30 - Regarding fishing opportunities during August, Damien mentions a high chance of catching the grand slam—permit, tarpon, and bonefish—due to the unique conditions of the summer months. He explains that the summer offers less pressured fish and more solitary experiences, unlike the busier seasons. Mornings might start with tarpon fishing near the lodge, followed by targeting permit, and ending with bonefish, generally considered the easiest of the three to catch. Damien's enthusiasm for summer fishing underscores the potential for excitement and success in Belize's diverse and vibrant fishery. 29:49 - He tells us the criteria for achieving a Grand Slam in Belize's fly fishing scene, clarifying that it involves catching three out of four specific species—bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook—in a single day. Catching all four qualifies as a Super Slam, a feat recently accomplished by an angler at Blue Horizon. He also provides insight into the operations and daily routines at the lodge, located on Northeast Key, where guides and guests coordinate based on tidal conditions to plan their fishing outings. 31:32 - Damien explains that the temperature around the ocean in Belize typically stays around 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year. He points out that May is the hottest month due to lower wind activity and being the driest month. While temperatures during fishing can get up to 90 degrees, exceeding that is rare. 32:50 - He describes Blue Horizon Lodge as an intimate and friendly place, ideal for fishing vacations with friends. The lodge has five guestrooms accommodating up to ten guests, featuring full-size beds, air conditioning, private bathrooms, and island-wide Wi-Fi, ensuring connectivity throughout. 36:49 - Damien offers several key tips for anglers heading to Belize, especially those who aim to catch permit, a notoriously challenging species. He emphasizes the importance of casting the fly as close to the fish as possible, aiming for it to land in the fish's line of sight rather than far ahead of it. Damien notes that direct casting might seem counterintuitive as it could spook the fish, but it often results in a hookup. He advises against panicking if the fish is spooked, suggesting instead to let the fly sit, as the fish might return to its original spot. Another crucial tip is about the stripping rate; slow and short strips are more effective, especially when using crab flies, mimicking natural prey behavior. Damien highlights that stopping the fly's movement altogether can be a successful strategy to entice a bite, as it imitates a crab trying to hide. These strategies are grounded in understanding the behavior of the target species and adapting techniques to mimic natural prey movements accurately. 44:28 - He tells us the types of flies that are effective for permit fishing at Blue Horizon, mentioning that while each guide has their favorites, certain flies are consistently preferred, such as the Bauer's Flats Crabs, Camo Crabs from S&S Flies, and Contraband Crabs. 46:12 - He encourages exploring the Belize mainland, citing Placencia Village for its accessibility and vibrant community, the Cayo District for its jungle adventures, and the ATM Cave for its historical and adventurous appeal. He suggests Belize as a great destination for families, offering a range of activities beyond fishing, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and relaxing on the beach. With options to stay in various family-friendly resorts operated by Blue Horizon's parent company, visitors can combine fishing expeditions with family vacations, ensuring a comprehensive experience of Belize's diverse attractions. 53:17 - He compares Turneffe Flats to Blue Horizon, highlighting that the former is located about 30 miles off the coast of Belize City and offers a different fishery, with a stronger focus on bonefish and good opportunities for permit fishing. Tarpon fishing is available year-round, similar to Blue Horizon, but the best tarpon fishing occurs in summer. 54:18 - In the conservation segment, Damien praises Craig Hayes, the owner of Turneffe Flats, for his significant contributions to conservation in Belize, more so than any NGO according to Damien. Hayes was instrumental in enacting catch-and-release laws and played a pivotal role in banning gillnets in Belize, known for their indiscriminate impact on marine life. The ban, established in the fall of 2020, allows guides and the fisheries department to remove gillnets found in the water. Damien notes that some guides take the initiative to destroy gillnets they encounter, though this action carries risks. Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/593

https://amateurtraveler.com/travel-to-belize-and-guatemala/ Hear about travel to Belize and Guatemala on the G Adventures "Classic Belize and Tikal" week-long small group tour: Mayan pyramids, cave tubing, and snorkeling on the Barrier Reef. An adventurous trip to Belize and Guatemala. The tour started in Belize City, traveled to Flores in Guatemala, and then returned to San Ignacio Belize and the Island of Caye Caulker. One of the highlights was visiting Mayan ruins, including Yaxha and Tikal in Guatemala and Caracol in Belize. I climbed to the top of 4 pyramids in 3 sites while learning about the Mayan Classical age from 200 to 900 AD. We saw Mayan ballcourts, temples, and noble houses. These sites are all in the jungle with the sounds of howler monkeys in the background and spider monkeys and kudamundi wandering the grounds. We saw tucans, turkeys, and other birds. We stayed in the colorful island town of Flores Guatemala which is a center for tourism for Tikal. We did cave tubing in Belize "near" San Ignacio, Belize. We floated through caves on inner tubes. We could get out of the tubes in the cave and see artifacts left by the Mayans of the Classical Period. Some of the group went to the well-known ATM cave where there are still the remains of some who were sacrificed to the gods at the end of the Classical Period. Others visited the Raptor Center where they got to interact with birds of prey. The trip concluded on Caye Caulker, an island in the Caribbean Sea, where our group went snorkeling on the Belize Barrier Reef, encountering diverse marine life including dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, rays, and sharks. We toured the island with local high school students as part of Bikes with Purpose. We concluded our trip with a lazy sunset cruise. This was an adventurous tour. It is meant for people who are open to taking a crowded local bus, jumping into the water in a dark cave, and following a guide through the jungle canopy at a Mayan site. If you are such a person, the G Adventures "Classic Belize and Tikal" might be a great use of a week's vacation.

As EMM workers Tim and Julie Groff gathered for the seventh annual leadership retreat with Belize Garifuna churches from Hopkins, Dangriga, Gales Point, and Belize City they spent time focusing on this attitude: Taking off the “expectations” the world has piled onto them and instead look around for the tools God has already given them to use.
Happy new year! Expect fewer posts this year. I will keep going with this podcast, but I am shifting my time commitment to (1) get the book over the line. No more excuses; and (2) Work on developing “business comedy”. I will write more about #2 at some point, but for now enjoy the podcast, and be happy if you weren't flying Southwest the last few weeks!Full TranscriptEdward: Peter, how were the holidays?Peter: Wow. It seems like a million years ago, doesn't it? It's amazing. We had that kind of one day after New Year's adjusting and then boom. But it was great. I went down to Antarctica and it was amazing. Super fun, super interesting. What about yourself?Edward: We tortured ourselves by taking our four little children to Guatemala and Belize.Peter: Wow, that's bold. That's bold.Edward: But I think the nice thing is both of us missed the travel meltdown that happened. I think we both got out before everything started falling apart across America.Peter: It was amazing actually being down in Antarctica. where it's kind of warmer and more pleasant than it was in most parts of the us. What a mess that wasEdward: Go to Antarctica for the heat .Peter: Well, it was summer and, I think unfortunately the repercussions of that are still rippling through and it's gonna be a while before that all settles down.Edward: It's interesting. We were flying on Alaska and there's now a direct flight between Seattle and Belize City. and there were three flights before ours, and they're a limited number of flights now that go back and forth. Like they're only every couple of days. And the three flights before ours were all canceled, so we're on the edge of our seats and whether we were gonna get back on time.Peter: And between all the cancellations that were happening earlier in the summer for different kinds of reasons, staffing, and now all of the kind of Southwest mess, which is more kind of operational issues, we have a very different feeling in the stomach when we pull up to the airport these days.Edward: One of the news this week, southwest Airlines had a big, big mess up where every, all the airlines kind of had trouble, but I think Southwest had the most at one point, I think they'd canceled half their flights. It was like a huge, huge, huge.Peter: Yeah. And I guess, if you read, some of the, articles and blogs about it, it seems like it was, it was inevitable, right? That they've been on a bit of a downward spiral in recent years and letting go of some of the operational aspects that would've never happened back in the old days. But, it's a shame it had to hit. Abruptly, and it's such an inconvenient time.Edward: Well, that's what's gonna happen, right? When you run really lean, if everything's going well, it's not a problem. It's when things start to go wrong, all of a sudden they can go really, really wrong because that's when things break.Peter: Exactly. And of course, the lessons to be learned are, How not to let them break, but also how to, how to recover from it. And I still think there's a lot of lingering questions about that.Edward: I think the Wall Street Journal was just publishing earlier this week about how Southwest is now saying, sorry. They're admitting their failures. They're offering, they said 25,000 frequent flyer points so that passengers hit by the travel meltdown. What do you think of that? Like, what is the value. The passengers who are getting that treatment to get them to come back? Or is it the signaling to non passengers that, Hey, we really.Peter: It's very interesting. My, initial reactions be really, really fun to, to talk through, was not a positive one. About that move. Couple of reasons. Number one, devalues the point. It's like, we're just gonna throw some stuff at you. You spent all this time trying to get people to value points and earn and get status and all the great things you can do. But just to use it as a way just throwing stuff at you, it kind of makes you wonder about the value of that currency and what it really means to Southwest. So there's one reaction. What, do you think about that?Edward: I think they claimed in that same article they said, those 25,000 points is worth $300, which would, which you put each point at worth more than a penny, maybe it's $300 if you do it absolutely perfectly in how you use it. But I think most people value these points at less than a penny. But you're saying that the fact they're giving points at all rather than giving people the $300, in either future travel or $300 in cash, the fact they're doing it in points, what degrades the value of the point .Peter: I think it does, maybe less from a fungibility standpoint, but from a psychological one, we try to associate these points with good things and aspirations and bonuses and like, wow, look at all things we can do with it. But here we're framing it or they're framing it as, this is a way that we're covering our ass and, and making up for a problem. And, I think it taints the idea of, of what these points are all about.Edward: I'm just thinking, when I was traveling, I stayed at,, back before Marriott bought them. I was staying at Starwood Hotels and they offered points for all sorts of things, but that was their go-to for both good things for, Hey, do these things we want you to do and we'll give you bonus points., get our credit card, we'll give you bonus points, stay in our hotels, get more points. But they would also use them for when things went wrong. And I remember times where like, Hey, they messed up my hotel room. Or there was really loud noise at night. Or they had, the pool wasn't working. And in those cases when you said, Hey, you guys made a mistake, their go-to thing was, well, here's some points. And I don't think I felt bad about that. I felt, I think I felt good about that.Peter: = I think it's different. I think it's a very different situation because, I've of course been in many of those situations myself, but, when it happens on an ad hoc basis like that, it's like, look at me, you know, I was a good negotiator. Look at what I got out of them. So at that point, it seems like a bonus. , I got something that other people might not have gotten. Whereas in this case it's a blanket offer, so it's not so no one's gonna feel like that they got something that they earned it, they're being treated all the same, and it's just sort of being thrown at them. It's not the outcome of some kind of, negotiation or something like that. So I think it's the points are framed very differently.Edward: Should they have done it below the line? . So instead of announcing that the Wall Street Journal they were doing it, should they have just approached each individual independently and said, Hey, we felt really bad. What happened to you specifically? Here's 25,000 points to make up for.Peter: And maybe vary the amount of points based on what people paid for the ticket or just how much inconvenience they were. Something like that. I think if they tried to make it a little bit more personal instead of just, again, sweeping it under the rug. Here you go, people, here's your points. Now shut up and let's keep going. I think that it might have just felt a little different.Edward: Who's to say they're not doing that? Maybe, they led out with the top line saying, Hey, it's 25,000 points to everybody. Here's the Wall Street Journal article. But maybe below the line they're saying, Hey, we're giving 25,000 points to everybody. But for you, We're gonna give you 30 or we're gonna give you 40 because of what happened to you and we wanna make so special.Peter: Or maybe it opens up that negotiation where people will go back to 'em and say, 25 isn't enough. I deserve more. In which case they would feel a little better about those incremental points that they were able to negotiate for. One of the other things that I find interesting about it, and this just kinda shows our age over here a little bit, is that Southwest, unlike the other airlines, hasn't been as, Has dependent on the loyalty program. They haven't called attention to it quite as much, and for years and years and years, they actively resisted having one. They always said that, look, we're just giving you a good deal. We're gonna treat you really well. We don't need to sweeten it in the way that some of these other big evil and personal airlines do. I kind of admired that about them, but then eventually they caved in. Everyone has to have it, butEdward: now they're so much money and a credit card.Peter: They have to do it, and that's fine. It's inevitable they would, but now they're calling even more attention to the program. And again, they're doing it in a way that has nothing to do with loyalty, that has nothing to do with that good feeling. It's just another currency. And it, takes, something special out of it and makes you start thinking about Southwest in a slightly more, I don't know, commoditized way .Edward: Have you looked at cohorts like this? So, like either an airline or something similar where something really bad happens. The people who experience that really bad thing, do you see what happens to their lifetime value? Does it drop significantly?Peter: I love that. I I love that. I can't believe that you raised that before I did. We do that all the time. In fact, the most obvious example being covid. But plenty of others, you know, we'll, we'll find cases where there's some kind of either competitive entry or the company engaging in some kind of other big strategic change. Not so much the first thing to do, but maybe the most telling thing to do is to say, , what's the nature of those customers, of the customers acquired during that time and how do they compare, you know, better or worse to, to others? I think that's a really great analysis to do and ends up being, I think, much more telling about the impact of that intervention than just a lot of the kind of day-to-day moment to moment. Nonsense on social media. So it's a great analysis. Now let's press pause on that and pick it up, a year from now and it would be great if Southwest would divulge some of that data.Edward: To me there's, three effects. There's one which is Southwest did this big mess up. It's in the news. How is that gonna affect my future travel with Southwest? Like how many times was I going to travel with Southwest? I wasn't affected by it, but I heard about it. Is that gonna drive down my future likelihood to fly Southwest then? Then number two is the people who were actually affected by it. They were traveling on Southwest, they released somewhat loyal to Southwest and that they bought one ticket. How is that going to affect their future travel with Southwest and is it gonna be more so than how my, I'm affected? You can even break that down even further by. People who, people who that was their first flight with Southwest. That's their only experiences with those Southwest. Versus a frequent traveler. And then number three is what effect did the intervention have? And I think the problem with this is that, Number two and number three, we can't separate because they're giving it to everybody. Now, if they've done it below the line, they could have just given it to like 90% of the people and 10%, 10% get nothing. You're screwed, buddy. Just so they can measure the effect of whether their intervention paid out.Peter: I love that. I love that. Or at least to communicate it differently to different people. Some people it could be a more positive message like, Hey, you get a free vacation on us. Or with other people it might be a, oops, we screwed up. You know, we feel bad. So that there still could be ways that they could try to get some insight from it. I suspect they're not, I suspect they're gonna try to make it as blanket and generic and, just get it out there and forget about this thing, which of course raises another problem which is they, giving points away isn't addressing the problem. all the operational issues that have been creeping up on them. The last thing they want is to throw a bunch of points at people and to see issues like this keep recurring, even if it's not quite as severe and public as what happened a couple of weeks ago. They're gonna still have operational concerns. And this whole points thing, the fact that weren't even talking about it, might call even more attention to future problems they have.Edward: Have you seen any examples like that? Like what should Southwest expect? What should it do to propensity to fly for people like me that weren't, didn't experience it? What should it do to the propensity to fly to the, for the people who got hit?Peter: Maybe The Thing to do, you gotta give some points or money or do something. But maybe it should be more communications around here's what we're doing to fix the problems. You know, here are the new people we're gonna hire and the new systems we're gonna integrate, and the new processes that we're gonna have to try to keep people alert. Again, I haven't stayed that close attention to this, but, I'd rather hear about the issues and how they're addressing them, rather than trying to just, throw points at people and pretend it's all better.Edward: I imagine this what the investors would care about more than anything else.Peter: Sure. And ultimately that might be what matters most, cuz there's no doubt they took a big hit here and I think people are gonna be looking at 'em skeptically for a while now. They need to earn people's trust back and again, it's not clear that 25 k points, closes the chapter here.Edward: They need a new, what's their tagline? Like, flying the Friendly Skies. Is that Southwest?Peter: No, that's, United.Edward: Oh my gosh. What's Southwest tagline?Peter: Oh, geez. , we should know our airlines better here. You're look, looking it up.Edward: Lofas. Nothing to hides. That's transparency. That's their, oh my gosh. That's terrible. .Peter: Yes, exactly. And, and here they're, they're trying to hide a lot, . And again, it's not very evil. It's not a conspiracy, but they're not being transparent. They're not addressing the issues. At least through this one tactic,Edward: they can do the new tagline. We will try harder. We'll do better.Peter: and we'll throw some points at you if it doesn't work. This is a public episode. Learn more about your ad choices. In Belize City, rival factions of Bloods and Crips clicks have turned the south side of the city into one of the most violent cities on earth in an endless cycle of retaliation. The violence in Belize took off in the 80's and 90's after Belizean immigrants who had joined various Bloods and Crips sets in LA's then burgeoning gang scene got arrested and deported. They brought the gang culture with them to this small, sleepy Central America/Caribbean nation. They also brought the violence, which Belize's overmatched and underfunded police seem powerless to stop. Now Jamal "Shyne" Barrow, a Belizean-American former protege of Sean P Diddy Combs who once served 9 years in prison for shooting up a nightclub in New York City, has joined his political dynasty family in politics and hopes to be the one to finally talk some sense into the warring gang members who have turned Belize City into a bloodbath.

Jenn claims that we almost died in Belize on three different occasions! Outside of our near-death experiences, it is a beautiful place to visit, eat and snorkel! Although we wouldn't recommend staying in Belize City, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye is fantastic! You can scuba the Great Blue Hole, swim with nurse sharks at Shark Ray alley, explore The Secret Beach or see what a "chicken drop" is at 'Wahoo's Lounge'. This week the Sistas are joined by their very own momma, Sylvia Sampson Cayetano. She shares about her upbringing as a Garifuna in Belize City, and the challenges of raising her daughters to be grounded in their identity in the midst of unique circumstances. Garifuna spirituality was never part of her childhood until she was awoken in the middle of the night by a message delivered from the ancestors. This ultimately led to organizing a healing pilgrimage to St Vincent and the Grenadines in 2017–the Garifuna Diaspora United in Healing. And, of course, the journey continues. Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that. We’ve been raised - so many of us - to be valued for what we can do, achieve, contribute. What if "Sometimes it happens that somebody likes you for no particular reason."What if you could really feel that? And what if you could treat someone else the same way, so they could feel it, too: being liked for no particular reason. What if you started today with your very own self. This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic. Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Today's question come from David in Belize. Love the show and thanks again for all the work you put into it. We always hear if you see a problem, find a solution. I see a big problem in Ambergris Caye Belize in parking. I think we could help the downtown area since there is always no parking and streets very congested. We would have challenges as to locating a lot. The lot if we found would be around 50’ x 70’ . The garage would be for golf carts and we can do 4 or 5 floors. We could do concrete, steel or a combination of them. I would want an elevator or 2 and maybe 2 entrances and exits. But 1 may work. So, 2 people working 2 shifts so like 5 people. Plus, maybe a maintenance person. I feel we would get a lot of long-term workers paying and then the tourist. The other challenge is the hourly or daily fee. I see some parking lots lot’s charge like $25 USD a day. The airport charges $2 just to go in and $25 USD a day as well. I need to do some more research but there are no garages here other then just empty lots they rent spaces out in Belize City and places like that. I was wondering your thoughts on a syndication on a parking garage. The payback would be a bit long The spaces would be like 100 for the 5 floors. After the setbacks, road drive paths. Maybe $800k to $1M to build. At $12.50 per day average Seems like the umbers work at 50% occupancy. David, thank you for the kind words and this is a great question. I’ve been to San Pedro in Belize and I know exactly of the parking problem you’re speaking about. It’s a dense area and there is very little parking. There are narrow streets packed with small shops and lots of pedestrian traffic competing with golf carts for a clear lane. The town has lots of character, even if it seems a little chaotic a times. Parking is one of those real estate plays that are not very sexy, but can be a great investment. In fact, one of the largest companies in France called Vinci made its’ wealth globally by investing in parking lots all over the globe. The problem with parking lots is that when many of the transactions are done in cash, for whatever reason cash has a tendency to go missing and not be fully accounted for. If you have a parking lot attendant who is handling a lot of cash and they’re earning only a few dollars an hour, the temptation is simply too great for them to pocket some of the extra change. Even if you make the parking lot attendant a partner in the business, they could still steal from you. In tropical locations like Belize you could experiment with electronic payments exclusively, but I don’t know if that would be a barrier to adoption. It would probably work with tourists who regularly carry credit cards. But the locals may choose not to use it. I would test market your idea on a limited basis with an existing ground level parking lot. Structured parking is expensive and you need to gain some operational experience in the local market to determine whether the idea will work. That will make for a much more compelling value proposition when it comes time to raise the capital for the construction. Finding the right location for a parking lot can be a challenge. Sometimes, you may find an old building that is condemned or functionally obsolete. Parking can be a very viable temporary investment. You buy the derelict building, demolish it and build a temporary parking lot for a year or two while the developer who will ultimately develop that location gets their plans and financing together. You may be able to propose a deal with a local developer to operate the parking on their behalf in order to gain first hand experience with managing a parking operation on the island.

Today, Jimi takes us on a romp through his first church plant, missionary experience in Belieze and a process of racial reconciliation including a prescription for healing. After that I asked him about his first three books (we'll save the fourth along with his relationship to Oxford University till next week). In 1983 Jimi walked through the doors of Hope Chapel Foursquare Church in Hermosa Beach, California. This podcast is the first of three. Jimi describes how he rediscovered Jesus, volunteered to serve as a janitor (while driving an XKE Jaguar to work) so he could better connect with the church staff who would disciple him.Since then he planted Hope Chapels in Sherman Oaks, CA, Belize City, Belize and now Bridging Austin. He's also written several books. He is passionate about building bridges wherever spatial division and social segregation exist. Ted Tejada joins us remotely via telephone to discuss how Belize has fared during the coronavirus pandemic and the efforts to prepare for visitors after our borders are reopened. Ted is the president of the Belize Hotel Association and general manager of the Belize Best Western Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Belize City. In this episode, he gives us some insight into how the tourism industry in Belize was caught off guard, just as the rest of the world, but how the country then took decisive action to mitigate the spread. Belize now ranks 5th globally as one of the most prepared countries in the world to lift its COVID-19 lockdown measures. As of this recording, Belize had recorded 18 cases, with only 2 active cases remaining. While the borders, including the airport, are still closed, the country continues to make post-COVID preparations. Ted gives us some insight into some of the policies and procedures being developed by different organizations in Belize such as the Belize Hotel Association, National Institute of Culture and History, Belize Airport Authority, and the Belize Tourism Board. A collective effort is being made throughout the country to put protocols and policies in place, with a phased reopening being planned. Ted reaffirms that Belize is a destination worth waiting for, and he assures us that everything possible is being done to ensure the safety of guests when tourism gets back on track.

As Dan heads to Belize, hopes of finding Chris and Peta’s graves in Guatemala fade with new information about the lengths the FBI went to in their attempts to find them. We meet Orlando, Dan’s Belizean fixer, who seems to know everybody in Belize by name as we begin to follow Chris and Peta’s steps. Peta’s letters start to come to life as we trace people and places she mentioned in her letters 40 years before. Very few locals seem to remember Boston – but a visit to the factory Peta write about in her letters leads to a breakthrough in the investigation and Orlando’s experience as a mechanic proves pivotal. Penny joins us in Belize to see some of the places her brother experienced on his travels with Peta in ’78 – before a memorable meeting in Belize City with Vince – the first time they have met. On board a near replica of the Justin B, Vince reconstructs the entire attack. The episode ends with a conclusion to one of the podcast’s biggest questions – but a possibly bigger one remains.

I figured I could wait till a week out to book my hotel for the last leg of my trip to Belize. I had already booked the first half of trip in the Northern Jungles, and was undecided as to what part of the country's coastline I wanted to visit for the last four days of my week-long visit. I then discovered a surprising and time consuming truth. Belize is not exactly accessible to tourists in wheelchairs. Seriously folks, very little has really been done to open up this beautiful country to travelers with disabilities. Apparently, there are only a handful of hotels that have even a single accessible room. Even Frommer's.com concurs: "Most disabilities shouldn't stop anyone from traveling. There are more options and resources out there than ever before. However, in general, there are relatively few handicapped-accessible buildings or transport vehicles in Belize. A very few hotels offer wheelchair-accessible accommodations, and there are no public buses, commuter airlines, or water taxis thus equipped. In short, it's relatively difficult for a person with disabilities to get around in Belize." Read more: I loved this travel bloggers assessment which I read prior to seeing the proof myself: "The fact is, most of Belize simply isn't accessible for people with limited mobility. Or just for those of us who aren't as spry as we used to be. Hotels almost invariably are built elevated from ground level. Walkways at jungle lodges or even at regular hotels are cobblestone or rough boards or loose gravel. Often the best rooms, those with the views, are on the top floors, up several flights of stairs. I can count the number of hotels in Belize with handicap-accessible rooms on the arthritic fingers of one hand - Calico Jack's in Placencia, the original SunBreeze in San Pedro, Hok'ol K'in in Corozal Town, and maybe a couple of others. Aside from elevators in the high-rise hotels in Belize City, the Radisson Fort George, Renaissance Tower and the Princess, and the little one atCorona del Mar in San Pedro, here are almost no elevators anywhere in the country. Even the new condo developments in Placencia and Ambergris Caye are going up two, three or four stories without elevators. (Surely, developers will figure out the average buyer of a US$600,000 condo is not going to be a 20-something marathon runner, but more like a retired couple with a hip replacement or two?) I understand the problems of building in a hurricane- and flood-prone environment, on sand, on remote hillsides. I realize there are no laws requiring access for those with less than perfect mobility. In today's world of aging Baby Boomers with bum knees, though, there's a market for hotels and condos with easy access. Somebody is going to figure out that wide doors, access ramps and elevators sell. Even if it's not mandated by law, it can make good economic sense to make new construction in Belize accessible to everyone." http://www.belizefirst.com/RamblesAroundBelize2008.htm Banyan Bay www.banyanbay.com, located on San Pedro Island, was one ocean front hotel that was recommended and available (overlooking the pool - not ocean - as is typical for "handicapped rooms" are found to be placed in least desired locations), but I decided that I really preferred to go south to Placencia. A web search came up with Roberts Grove which prides itself on having an accessible room for those with disabilities. While they were incredibly gracious and helpful, by the time I was ready to book, the room was already reserved. Another wheeler was going to the resort that same week and they were going to have to build a ramp for him to a non-designated first floor room. They offered the same for me, but the bathroom wasn't accessible and they had a shower, no tub and no shower chair, so I declined this trip. I looked to Hotels.com and used their search option for "Accessible room." A few hotels that met my discerning criteria - including accessible rooms - came up! YAY!
