Was Eryks Herz höher schlagen lässt? Zwangsvollstreckung! Die auch gerne mal in Irland oder Italien.
Joseph is a 2L at Ohio Northern University College of Law and works as a Legal Assistant at Swartz, Culleton, and Ferris. Joseph's journey to Law School is full of twists, turns, and amazing insights! Joseph and I start at his graduation from Wyoming Catholic College where he graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts. We would discuss his experience at Lowes, which offered extremely valuable people skills and laid the foundations for skills he still uses to this day, further offering the importance of those odd jobs. We then spoke about his 2 years at NJM Insurance Group where Joseph would be taking up to 100 phone calls a day. As well it was also a job through LinkedIn, showing how important it is to put yourself out there. Joesph also gained new perspectives and got a peek into the insurance world. We then moved to Joseph's entry into Ohio Northern University College of Law. We spoke about what went into his decision to enter law school and the important mentors he had along the way. Joseph would speak about his first year of law school, which he both loved and hated. He loved the school part but felt it was socially difficult due to its competitive nature. He gives the advice to treat it like a job. Finally, Joseph and I spoke about the internships he has held along the way, finding the specialization he wants to do through them. Joseph would also harp on the idea of avoiding the social problems and drama that come with law school, and always take the opportunity to talk to those not a part of the Law School, to take your mind off things. This episode with Joseph is an episode full of intelligent insights, and finding the systems, tools, and strategies that work for you, all through the power of action! We've just returned from the Clio Cloud Conference, held this year in Austin, Texas, where, in what has become an annual tradition, LawNext host Bob Ambrogi sat down with Clio founder and CEO Jack Newton for a live interview. At the conference, Clio launched Clio Duo, the generative AI legal assistant integrated into Clio's flagship product, Clio Manage. In this interview, Newton discusses what Duo does and why he believes generative AI is a game-changer for lawyers, more significant even than lawyers' move to the cloud a decade ago, but with parallels to that transition. Newton also talks about findings from Clio's just-released Legal Trends Report on lawyers' adoption of AI and the concerns about AI that are still holding some lawyers back. In a broad-ranging conversation, Newton also shares his thoughts on the law practice management landscape, Clio's expansion into the mid-firm market, and the greater integration of fintech applications in legal. In this episode, Ann discusses the confusion and debate surrounding the use of the job titles "legal assistant" and "paralegal." While the ABA now distinguishes between paralegals and legal assistants, there is still inconsistency in how these titles are used by different organizations and law firms. Anne also highlights the differences in educational requirements, skills, and salaries between paralegals and legal assistants. Don't forget to visit the website for additional resources and stay tuned for the upcoming episode on paralegal management. Key Takeaways: The ABA updated its definition of a paralegal in 2020, distinguishing it from a legal assistant. Paralegals typically require a minimum of an associate's degree and a paralegal certificate, while legal assistants may not have specific educational requirements. Paralegals often have more in-depth legal knowledge and perform substantive legal work, while legal assistants focus on administrative tasks. The use of the titles "paralegal" and "legal assistant" varies among organizations and law firms, leading to confusion for clients and the general public. Are you a paralegal who wants to skip the learning curve and kickstart your career? Leslie Gaudet so inspiring to talk about loving yourself unconditionally, messy moments, the pause and the importance of it. We don't have to be cookie cutter, not in the box There were many things said but this concept stood out to me, " Permission to explore". You ask yourself , " What am I capable of"? Face that uncomfort zone and have some fun. Leslie Gaudet is a Mindset and Emotional Awareness Coach for women. She helps her clients achieve self-awareness around their emotional triggers through shifting their mindset so that they can make better decisions when they respond, which allows them to bring more balance, peace, and harmony into their life. Almost 4 decades working as a Legal Assistant and Paralegal in the corporate world left her feeling emotionally and physically drained and that's when she decided that in order for her to live a life she loves, she had to make some changes and those changes involved learning to love herself (without judgment or criticism), and that mindset is the key to everything because our mindset influences our thoughts and in turn our thoughts dictate our words and actions. Thru her journey to self-love and self-acceptance, Leslie went on to become certified as a Life Coach and attained further certifications in Group Coaching, and Emotional Intelligence. She works closely with her clients starting with mindset because that is the foundational piece to self-love and self-acceptance. She teaches her clients about triggers and how they affect us emotionally by helping her clients tune into, spot and understand their own so that they can become more self-aware of their trigger moments and emotional responses. With proven tools and techniques, and with her guidance, her clients tap into and discover their true potential to living their life and loving the life they are living. Leslie believes that when you Change Your Brain (the way you think), You will Transform Your Life. Information on San Jacinto College: Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, is the first African-American college established in the Lone Star State. The institution was founded in 1873 by Bishop Isaac Wiley of Methodist Episcopal Church and chartered by the Freedman’s Aid Society in 1882. Isaac Wiley grew up with dreams of becoming a minister but instead turned to medicine. In 1850 he was given the opportunity to go to China on a medical missionary trip. Following his return to the United States he entered the ministry and rose through the ranks before becoming a Bishop in 1872. In 1873 he founded Wiley College. The college is now affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is dedicated to the idea of social responsibility and seeks to contribute and revitalize the community, which it serves. Wiley College was established to provide an education to newly freed men and women and to prepare them for a new life. It was also established to train teachers for careers at black elementary and secondary schools in Texas and other states and territories. One of the most notable alumni of Wiley College is James L. Farmer Jr., the son of a long-time Wiley professor. James L. Farmer, Jr. was a distinguished civil rights leader who was one of the founders of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) in 1942. He was the National director for CORE from 1961 to 1966 and served as the Assistant Secretary for the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare in the Nixon Administration for one year. Heman Marion Sweatt, the plaintiff in the U.S. Supreme Court Case in 1950 which desegregated the University of Texas Law School, was also a graduate of the institution. Wiley now offers Associate and Bachelor’s Degrees in 17 areas including: English, biology, business, computer science, and social sciences, along with many more. The college is located on 63 acres of land west of Marshall, Texas between Dallas to the west and Shreveport, Louisiana to the east. The campus is comprised of seventeen buildings that are used for teaching, learning, and research, as well as residence halls for the students. The college also provides opportunities in higher education to non-traditional students through the Wiley Management Institute Program. Wiley College is an open-admissions college meaning that one just needs a high school diploma to gain admission. Wiley adopted the open admissions program in the 1970s to allow more students access to a college education.
