Munya also shares how the injustice of Solomon Linda and his song, Mbube, which transformed into the Lion Sleeps Tonight (best known for featuring Disney's The Lion King) motivated him on his mission to educate the music industry and the creation of Mbube2020.

Is it a Play or a Pass? Music from Violet Aurora and Stuka Siren plus surprise tracks. Joining us for the weekly habit is Kelley Mangahas, A&R Manager for Warner Music Philippines and bassist of Kjwan and Dicta License.
Flo is a Project and A&R Manager at Nuclear Blast Records as well as the co-owner of his own management agency Deadshot Music management. With years of experience managing campaigns and overseeing large projects from start to finish, Flo was kind enough to give us some of his time and discuss the things bands should do when approaching labels. Where they need to be in their career before they can expect label attention as well as what to expect once they're signed. We discuss marketing, branding and the costs involved being in a professional long term band. Loads of pure gold in this interview. Lots of stuff people will find invaluable and applicable to their own bands and marketing efforts. “How do I A&R my own music?” “Where do I find beats to write to?” “How do song splits work?” — This week on the podcast I sat down with former Warner Music Group A&R, Eric McLellan. In addition to being a massive Mets fan, Eric also manages and helps develops artists for his new company, Yo Peep This. This is a great interview for anyone looking for insight into how they can start creating music on their own without having their own A&R. Enjoy, but most importantly, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
