On this episode of Something To Wrestle, John Layfield and Conrad Thompson dive into some of the biggest talking points in professional wrestling, blending behind the scenes stories with JBL's trademark honesty and insight. The guys kick things off by discussing why there's never been a better time to be a lucha libre fan. From the incredible talent emerging from Mexico to the growing global appreciation for lucha libre, JBL explains why the style is thriving and why today's fans are witnessing a true golden era. Then the conversation shifts to TNA Wrestling, as John shares why he believes Road Dogg could be the right person to lead the company's creative direction. JBL breaks down what makes great wrestling storytelling, the importance of understanding talent, and why the right creative vision can completely transform a promotion. The discussion continues with one of JBL's core beliefs: professional wrestling is supposed to be fun. John reflects on why fans fell in love with wrestling in the first place and explains how entertainment, memorable characters, and larger-than-life moments have always been the foundation of the business. Finally, John and Conrad revisit the meeting that helped launch the Attitude Era. JBL pulls back the curtain on the conversations, ideas, and creative philosophy that helped reshape the WWF into the hottest promotion in the industry, forever changing professional wrestling. All that, plus another edition of WrestleWorth, and plenty of laughs with Curtain Jerkers on this episode of Something To Wrestle. On this special edition of Grilling JR, Jim Ross and guest host Paul Bromwell celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the most pivotal and unforgettable years in the legendary career of The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. Join JR and Paul as they revisit a defining moment in wrestling history and the event that forever changed Shawn's career trajectory. The guys travel back to WrestleMania XII, held on March 31, 1996, at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim in Anaheim, California. In the night's historic main event, Shawn Michaels fulfilled his lifelong dream by defeating Bret "Hitman" Hart in a grueling 60-minute Iron Man Match to capture his first WWF Championship. JR shares his memories of calling one of the most talked-about matches in WrestleMania history and discusses the significance of the iconic "Boyhood Dream Has Come True" moment that has become synonymous with Shawn Michaels' legacy. But WrestleMania XII was about much more than just the main event. JR and Paul dive into the major stories surrounding the WWF at the time, including Scott Hall and Kevin Nash giving notice and preparing to leave for WCW, the infamous Billionaire Ted skits that fueled the Monday Night War, and the surprising return of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. The conversation also covers the chaotic Hollywood Backlot Brawl between Piper and Goldust, Ultimate Warrior's lightning-fast return match against Hunter Hearst Helmsley, The Undertaker's clash with Diesel, and the unique atmosphere surrounding a company on the verge of massive change. From Shawn Michaels' crowning achievement to the behind-the-scenes developments that helped reshape the wrestling industry, JR and Paul break down all the action, controversy, and history from one of the most important WrestleManias of all time. REWIND TIME.After WWF purchased WCW in 2001, it was all downhill from there, we just didn't know it yet. King of the Ring took place in June 2001 and it was the last "WWF-only" PPV until December's Vengeance PPV later that year. Shane McMahon - the "owner" of WCW - took Kurt Angle to the limit (!), Booker T made his WWF debut and injured Stone Cold Steve Austin - hell, there were a ton of injuries on this show - an anticlimactic main event, Vince McMahon nowhere to be found, no celebration for the winner of the King of the Ring until the next night, and much more. We dive into it all on this week's episode.Recorded June 2024. Bottom trawling has been a big topic of conversation this week. On Tuesday we spoke to Caitlin from the WWF about its poll showing almost half of New Zealanders think bottom trawling is the biggest threat to the ocean. Today we're following that up with a commercial fisherman's perspective. Tony Roach is the owner and skipper of a 76 gross tonne trawler. Did a secret conservation club become a meeting place for some of the most powerful people on Earth? This week, we're diving deep into the mysterious 1001 Club, a little-known organization founded alongside the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Officially, it's a conservation trust dedicated to protecting wildlife and preserving nature. But critics and conspiracy researchers have long questioned whether there's more to the story. From connections to the Bilderberg Group, David Rockefeller, banking dynasties, intelligence agencies, and some of the wealthiest families in the world, the 1001 Club sits at the center of a web of intrigue that stretches across decades. Is it simply a fundraising organization for environmental causes, or is it a gathering place for global elites operating behind the scenes? In this episode, we'll explore the history of the WWF, Prince Bernhard's controversial past, the creation of the 1001 Club, and the many conspiracy theories surrounding its members and influence. What do you think? Is the 1001 Club just a conservation organization helping save endangered species, or is there something much bigger happening behind closed doors?Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.#ConspiracyTheory #1001Club #WWF #BilderbergGroup #DavidRockefeller #SecretSocieties #NewWorldOrder #DeepState #HiddenHistory #RabbitHolePodcastwww.stayskeptical.comWise Wolf Gold: https://www.wolfpack.gold/?ref=jvujkwgsSources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jcwvgWpPz8GqLxNwpeJM7AHqBJL2O3JWVdE8ggKK7_8/edit?usp=sharing

Bottom trawling is back in the news as Parliament's currently considering an overhaul of our fishing rules. Around 70% of our fish is harvested via bottom trawling, but the technique is considered controversial because of the damage it does to the sea floor. Critics argue the Fisheries Amendment bill weakens environmental protections, but Minister for Oceans and Fisheries Shane Jones says those critics are out of touch. Newly released research from the World Wildlife Fund reveals that 70 percent of us are concerned about the health of the ocean. Caitlin Owers from the WWF joins Jesse.

Last winter you probably heard about the lack of snow in the western US, and how that might impact everything from ski resorts to farmlands and freshwater supplies. News coverage of this drought most-often invokes impacts on the Colorado River. But there's another system—the Rio Grande—that's facing just as much pressure. Stretching from Colorado to the Gulf of Mexico, the Rio Grande – or the Rio Bravo as it's known in Mexico – supports millions of people, vast acres of farmland, and diverse ecosystems that support an array of wildlife. But the river has lost roughly 85% of its historic flows due to overuse and a years-long megadrought. And this summer could bring the worst conditions yet thanks to the lack of snowpack in the mountains that feed the river. In this episode of Nature Breaking, we explore why the Rio Grande is running dry—and what that means for communities, wildlife, and the future of water in the region. Host Seth Larson is joined by Enrique Prunes, WWF's Rio Grande Manager and Freshwater Lead Specialist, to break down the crisis and explain what needs to change to secure a brighter future for the river.
