Are you a solopreneur looking to scale your business without bringing on an entire team? In this week's episode, I am thrilled to introduce you to Jessica Freeman, owner of Jess Creatives. As a seasoned website designer and SEO strategist, Jess shares her insights on building a successful solopreneur business and optimizing SEO efforts. Jess Freeman is the creative force behind Jess Creatives. With a background in website and graphic design, Jess started her journey in college and took her business full-time in 2014 when she was just 24 years old. She provides comprehensive web design and SEO services, including hands-on SEO for clients ranging from brick-and-mortar shops to solo business owners. Her story is of hard work, efficiency, and continuous adaptation to the evolving digital landscape. Jess shares that automation tools and software are crucial to managing her business without a larger team. Tools like HoneyBook streamline her client onboarding process, and automated social media management tools like Social Bee help maintain a consistent online presence. Jess emphasizes the importance of having a structured, efficient workflow and not getting bogged down by perfectionism. One of the main focuses of this insightful interview is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Jess explains that SEO optimizes website content to rank higher in search engine results. This involves using relevant keywords in a natural and non-spammy way, ensuring web pages provide valuable and comprehensive information to users. Jess emphasizes the importance of not relying too heavily on one marketing channel. Whether it's social media, SEO, or email marketing, diversifying helps ensure business stability. With recent changes on platforms like Instagram and the unpredictable nature of algorithm shifts, having multiple avenues to reach your audience is crucial. Feeling like marketing your podcast isn't your strong suit? Don't worry; you're not alone. Promoting a show might not be second nature to everyone, but it's still entirely possible to cultivate an audience and turn your podcast into a money-maker. Today's guest, Elizabeth Cush, the host of Awaken Your Wise Woman, is proof of that. In this episode, you'll find out how: Elizabeth started her podcast as Women Warriors, then transitioned it to Awaken Your Wise Woman She navigated through initial discomfort with promoting her show. She found the right people to handle audio editing and crafting show notes Guest appearances have elevated her podcast game Notion and Social Bee improve her podcasting process
Many entrepreneurs would describe themselves as multi-passionate–we feel drawn to different niches and industries, and we dislike being put in a box. Our latest guest on the podcast is proof that not only can you find success as a multi-passionate entrepreneur, but there are plenty of ways to combine your passions or use one to fuel another. Jason LaBaw is the founder and CEO of Bonsai Media Group, a full-service Internet Marketing Firm ranked as one of the top 15 SEO companies in the world by Top SEOs. The company serves top brands such as Samsung, Amazon, Supra Boats, and CTG. Jason holds certification in web management and web development from Western Washington University, as well as being AdWords & Google Analytics certified. His in-depth knowledge of digital marketing communications, combined with his technical experience as a certified web developer, makes him uniquely capable of driving both technology-focused and marketing-focused solutions. Building your team One of Jason's biggest regrets is not taking his recruitment and hiring process seriously during the early stages of his company. As Bonsai grew, its clientele shifted from mom-and-pop shops to global enterprise clients, and it was difficult to let go of team members who no longer aligned with where the company was headed. Over the years, Jason hired people who were either the wrong culture fit or didn't have the skills necessary to succeed in their role, and he's learned from those mistakes. His old strategy was to have someone put up a job posting and wait for applications to roll in. Now Jason personally creates videos for each job posting and interviews the candidates. The job market has gotten tougher, and so have Bonsai's recruitment standards. Jason's goal is not only to hire top talent but also to find people who are the right fit for their company culture. Developing an app Jason's latest venture is Social Bee, a travel augmented reality (AR) app that combines elements of Pokemon Go and Trip Advisor to enhance the travel experience. The app began as a social content platform, hosting contests and digital scavenger hunts. That soon progressed to offering digital tour guide services through AR. The original plan for Social Bee was to provide tips, trivia, and interactive videos to tourists to make their travel experiences more immersive and engaging. The business model targeted tour guides and travel influencers to create content, which users would then pay for while the app took a platform fee. Jason found that model was incredibly difficult to scale; it required too many conversations to bring new content creators on board. So he started looking for an alternative way to bring the app to market. This was right around the time AI and ChatGPT were taking off, and Jason wondered if he could leverage AI to create travel itineraries. The new and improved Social Bee helps travelers create personalized itineraries using ratings and reviews pulled from Google. As the business grows, Jason plans to release a companion app and expand more into virtual reality. The profits from Bonsai will continue to support Social Bee until the app becomes cash flow positive, allowing Jason to use one successful business as a springboard for another. Enjoy this episode with CEO and Founder Jason LaBaw… Quotes “I would highly encourage people to allow the changes or the challenges in your business to inform you as to the changes you need to make.” “My calendar rules my life. Everything is on my calendar because if it isn't, someone else is going to book that time.” “By not focusing on working on the business and growing the business and growing my team, I'm putting the quality of our work in jeopardy. I'm putting our clients, our team, and my family in jeopardy. There was a realization for me that this has to be a priority and I have to be a priority. Earlier in my career, I would sacrifice everything for the business.” “Relationships in general are so important. You never know where somebody is going to land. They may be at a small yoga shop now, but three years down the road they may have a $300,000 RFP for a major enterprise.” “Social Bee is a seven-year startup. It's been a journey, let me tell you. But I think like anything worth having, you've got to pursue it. You've got to have a vision and be relentless in working toward that vision.” “Just because you can work 12 hours a day doesn't mean that you should. The person that you become on that conference call or on that one-on-one with an employee probably isn't as good as the person who took the time to go for a walk or workout and do those things. For entrepreneurs and agency owners, it's not the quantity of time, it's the quality of time. So figuring out what's necessary to maximize the quality of your time and the impact of the time you do have.” Links mentioned in this episode: Bonsai Media Group: https://bonsaimediagroup.com/ Social Bee website: https://socialbee.ai/ Connect with Jason LaBaw on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/labaw/

I've helped hundreds of self-employed women achieve the time and money freedom they craved. I've started this podcast because when I first went all in and left the corporate world to be a freelancer, I was grateful for any work that came my way. After over 20 years of freelancing and working for other people, I started to realize I'd created a glass ceiling for myself. In 2017, I finally started listening to that voice that had been telling me for a long time that I wasn't doing what I loved and fulfilling my true potential. It took a critical illness to give me that wake-up call. I don't want the same to happen to you. You can expect practical advice, inspiring stories, and a lot of aha moments as we uncover and kick to the curb all the obstacles you have been putting in your way. Do you know how to use LinkedIn? Are you using it correctly? Today, Nikki's guest is Louise Brogan of The Social Bee from Belfast in Northern Ireland. Louise is a LinkedIn consultant and podcast host of LinkedIn with Louise, and her passion is teaching people how to use LinkedIn for business. Louise is asking for Nikki's support in building her retainer client offer to grow her business in 2021, plus much more on this episode of the Sales Maven podcast. Nikki says that a client doesn't know what they don't know, so if you are not offering ongoing sessions above and beyond the VIP package, you could be doing them a disservice. It's important to be there to help them when things come up. Nikki speaks about the different tiers Louise could implement that will encompass everything she is trying to accomplish. Would you find value in having a LinkedIn expert a click away? One thing that Nikki suggests is adding a Voxer package to Louise's VIP offer. Louise can put whatever parameters she wants and can use discretion on who is allowed the access. Louise could call this a premium package because there is value in having a LinkedIn expert just a Voxer click away. Louise says the biggest benefit to her of the Sales Maven Society is Nikki's interaction and the quick responses she gives to the members. Louise also believes she learns as much from other people's questions as she does from her own. Do you want to know how to use your questions? Nikki invites you to join the Sales Maven Society. This is an opportunity for you and Nikki to work together, you bring your questions, concerns, and sales issues, and she provides answers and guidance to boost your confidence. Join by going to www.salesmavensociety.com, click add to cart, and then checkout and use coupon code: 47trial to get your first month for only $47.00! [03:00] How do you work with people, and what is the benefit of hiring you to help with LinkedIn? [06:13] Louise speaks about her work training corporate teams in how to use LinkedIn. [08:01] What is the biggest mistake people are making on LinkedIn today? [11:33] Louise discusses what she would like Nikki's help with today. [13:45] Louise speaks about a done-for-you service offer and connecting with the right clients. [15:02] Nikki believes Louise needs a higher tier package: the VIP day plus some ongoing sessions. [16:36] Nikki speaks about this approach being easier for clients to digest. [18:28] Nikki shares some things she has been offering in her VIP packages. [19:52] Nikki suggests some ways to put parameters around a Voxer package. [22:42] Nikki shares how she decides who to offer the Voxer access to. [25:00] Voxer is much more convenient than email. [25:46] Nikki says that Louise's offers need to be refined. [27:37] Really recommend what you know the client needs. [28:08] Louise shares a funny story with Nikki about trusting your gut. [30:51] Nikki speaks about a prospective client that didn't show up for discovery calls, and when she got on the call with her, she was drinking.
Doch was heißt profitabel eigentlich? Also, worauf wartest du?

How are you able to publish so much content on Social Media? The answer is by understanding the kind of content I need to be pushing, based on the platform and audience, syndicating and spinning my own content, and scheduling based on content type. Buckle up, there's a lot of information here, so I'll try not to talk too fast. Why I use social media and why you should too.Your customers are hiring based on relationships and recommendations. If you're a consulting bartender, chef, entrepreneur, bar or brand owner, you need to be pushing content that reflects your brand values. Full stop. By putting out content that reflects your expertise or values, you can be recommended to by your friends, customers and peers, but also by GOOGLE.A large part of Social media is SEO or search engine optimization which means that your content is parsed by Google and other search engines to help you create authority. This comes with talking about subjects you're an expert on.Must be mobileMust not take more than a few hours a weekMust be fun and interesting to produceMust help me learn something. The content I createI am not a photographer. What my clients ARE looking for is experience, reliability and expertise,This means sharing what I know, without pitching. Depending on the platform, I will ask a question, or simply share a nugget of wisdom from 15 years in the business. Spinning ContentThere are two basic types of content I produce, short form (like a meme, or a tweet) and long form, which is like a podcast, blog, or video. I do not let a single piece of content go to wasteThis is usually just thought that I am waiting to turn into a meme. That thought can be screenshot to become an Instagram or twitter post, but here's what I do with it.Social Bee manages Twitter, Linkedin, Google Business, and Facebook for me using content buckets.Content Buckets are specific types of content. All of my content falls into five buckets:To get all this content out evenly and consistently, I schedule different content buckets on different platforms at different times. For Linked in, I always publish between eight and nine am, one post a dayFor Instagram, I post once a day around 10amFor twitter I post around 8-10 times a day because the average lifepan of a tweet is around 10 minutes. Google My Business gets one post a dayThe tools and techniques I mentioned are by no means the only way to get your messaging and brand out there, but this is what I have found works for me. This is the engine I built. *** Questions, comments or want are you a bartender/chef who's built a business? Let me know! I'm on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and even TikTok…..I think. Why do we buy things? Is pricing always a deciding factor? Does how we phrase something or the colours we use on our website buttons matter? In this week’s episode, I interview Melina Palmer, who hosts The Brainy Business podcast. Melina has a Master’s Degree in Behavioural Economics and helps businesses to understand why people buy and how the brain makes decisions. Through her workshops, talks, and online courses, Melina teaches people how, by making small tweaks to your messaging, pricing, and products, you can increase leads and conversions. In this episode, Melina shares some of the key concepts of behavioural economics that she also unpicks and explains in her own podcast show – things like ‘framing’ or ‘nudging’. And to celebrate the launch of her first online course, Melina has kindly shared not one but two exclusive discount codes with the listeners of The Social Bee podcast and is giving us access to her first course module (all about mindset) for FREE! Just scroll down to find the relevant info and enjoy this episode. I hope you’ll find it as fascinating as I did! You will learn… Why the way you say something is so much more important than what you’re trying to communicate (and how knowing this can help you make more sales in your business). How the subconscious brain works (and what it’s driven by), and why it’s responsible for making 99% of all decisions. Why ‘familiarity’ is important and why you should think about different ways to say the same thing to your audience to help them take it in and accept it. More about Melina Melina’s podcast – The Brainy Business. In our interview, Melina specifically mentioned episode 61- Color Theory, where she talks about how Google tried several shades of blue for their buying buttons. Check it out! Melina’s website – The Brainy Business. Melina on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Melina is also launching her first online course on Pricing, which includes a live workshop on Zoom. The course starts on September, 9th 2019, and she’s kindly offered the listeners of The Social Bee podcast the following discount codes: Use code BEE100OFF to get $100 off the online course PLUS workshop – buy here. Use code BEE50OFF to get $50 off the online course – buy here. You can also access the first module (on mindset) of Melina’s Pricing course for FREE – just click here to access it. Key Takeaways Covered In The Podcast Canva is a free tool (with a paid version) that allows you to create social media graphics. With pre-loaded templates that are tailored to each social media platform, this is one of the most useful tools you can use to create engaging images for your socials. From an agency point of view, Content Cal is a great platform as it allows you view your content as a grid. It also gives your clients the option to view and approve posts before they go live. Social Bee is a social media scheduling tool that has a lot of different functionalities to help you schedule engaging post. Whilst it is not the simplest tool to use, the functions it offers more than make up for it. A Color Story is a great app for image editing as it allows you to have more control over the images (more so than editing within the Instagram app), and you can save filters to create to a more consistent feel. If you like to plan your Instagram feed in advance, Preview is a great app that allows you to do this. For royalty free images that can be used in social media posts, try Unsplash, Pixabay and Pexels. Biteable is an online program that allows you to create videos using stock video, your own videos, images and text. Mailchimp is a great email marketing service for people that have not done email marketing before as it’s simple. For those looking for a little more, Drip is another great option. 2-Minute Tip: Make Eye Contact Making eye contact with your audience is a great way to show them that you care and are interested in their success. It's much more effective than looking down and a script or shuffling note cards around. Bonus Tip: Watch the Air Quality Before you go someplace to speak, check the air quality in the city. A simple web search should bring up the latest data. For example, the air quality in Seattle right now is 153. That's unhealthy. Good air quality is between 0 and 50. In our case, it's because of forest fires throughout the US and Canada. This means speakers who spend a lot of time outdoors may have problems with the throat. A speaker may find themselves sneezing a lot more or generally stuffed up. We may fatigue more. Our lung capacity may seem lower because we're inhaling so much more than just air. Plan for local air quality. That may mean you bring more tissues or lozenges. You should probably drink more water. Consider wearing a mask while out and about. Reduce your exposure to outside air. In general, protect your voice. Post Tip Discussion: Meet Louise Brogan Louise Brogan (Social Bee) is a social media consultant and trainer, who teaches entrepreneurs and established companies and organizations to market their business online. Louise's aim is to explain how to do things online in a simple, straightforward way. Louise has been working with organizations and small businesses for over five years. In 2017, Louise was listed in the Small Business Saturday Top 100 Small Businesses in the UK, and in March 2018, Louise was awarded Top 50 Small Business Advisors in the UK by Enterprise Nation As you would expect, our discussion focused on the intersection of public speaking and social media. There were a number of key lessons I found in this episode. Reach out to local councils, governmental organizations, or Chambers of Commerce about speaking opportunities they may have available. Some of these gigs may or may not be paid, but they can be great for lead generation. Use LinkedIn to make sure your professional network knows you're a speaker. It's a great tool for finding those opportunities. As a business, focus on only 1 or 2 social media platforms where your customers are most likely to be and are most likely in their customer mindset. Speaking because you have the fire for it is great, but there's also tremendous value in it if you don't like speaking for speaking's sake. Social media for business is profoundly different from social media for personal use.
