Mostly Film is back with another packed episode of trailer chaos, movie talk, and industry insanity. This week in LIST IT or NIX IT, we're breaking down trailers for The Rivals of Amziah King, Resident Evil, Clayface, Coyote vs Acme, Jackass, Verity, and more to decide what's making the watchlist — and what's getting tossed immediately. In What We've Been Watching, Jonathan and J.P. talk survival thrillers, prestige dramas, and comfort TV as they dive into Apex, revisit Erin Brockovich, and check in on shows like The Boys, The Wire, Justified, Entourage, Maul, and Survivor. Then in The News, things get wild: a Westworld movie is officially happening, Battlefield sparks a studio bidding war, John Wick 5 gets an update, Netflix is planning its first major theatrical rollout with Greta Gerwig's Narnia, and somehow a Django/Zorro crossover movie is becoming real. Plus: Michael breaks records, Fast & Furious expands again, Letterboxd might be sold, and we react to the first look at Netflix's live-action Scooby-Doo.

Clayface is stepping into full horror territory, and Frank and Squeaks break down why that could be exactly what DC needs. The episode also covers a packed week of reboots and adaptations, including FernGully, The Phantom, Django/Zorro, RoboCop, Battlefield, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The back half shifts into a spoiler-heavy Invincible Season 4 review, with a big focus on Thragg, Mark's impossible choices, and the emotional weight of Atom Eve's storyline. Frank and Squeaks also dig into Xbox's future, Game Pass changes, the return of stronger Xbox branding, and whether the next console can make fans excited again. Timestamps and Topics 00:00 Avengers: Endgame 7-Year Anniversary and Favorite Character Arcs 03:05 Capital Creative Showcase and Convention Updates 04:02 Clayface Trailer Discussion and DC Horror Potential 08:27 FernGully, The Phantom, Django/Zorro, and RoboCop Reboots 16:35 Battlefield Movie and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced 25:28 Invincible Season 4 Spoiler Review 40:01 Xbox's Future, Game Pass Changes, Project Helix, and Brand Identity 59:21 Network Updates, Recommendations, and Closing Key Takeaways Frank and Squeaks look back at Avengers: Endgame seven years later, highlighting Steve Rogers, Nebula, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the idea of a Ronin video game. The Clayface trailer sparked a strong reaction because it feels more like a horror movie than a standard DC or Batman-adjacent story. Reboots dominate the news cycle, with mixed reactions to FernGully, The Phantom, RoboCop, Django/Zorro, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. The Battlefield movie conversation centers on how it can separate itself from Call of Duty and other military films by leaning into large-scale, multi-front battles. The Invincible Season 4 review praises Thragg as a major villain, explores Mark's moral limits, and gives the season a 9 out of 10 from both hosts. The Xbox discussion focuses on Game Pass pricing, exclusives, Project Helix, and whether Xbox can rebuild its identity as a console brand. Memorable Quotes "Give me a Ronin video game. I think that'd be dope." "This needs to be treated as a full-on horror movie." "Why would McDonald's lose the Golden Arches? You guys are doing that right now." "Mark's weakness is the fact that he's a good person." "I'm excited to be a fanboy again." Are there alien artifacts near the sun? "Almost all SETI searches to date have explicitly targeted stars in the hope of detecting artificial radio or optical transmissions. It is argued that extra-terrestrials (ET) might regard sending physical probes to our own Solar System as a more efficient means for sending large amounts of information to Earth. Probes are more efficient in terms of energy and time expenditures; may solve for the vexing problem of Drake's L factor term, namely, that the civilization wishing to send information may not coexist temporally with the intended recipient; and they alleviate ET's reasonable fear that the intended recipient might prove hostile." ET Probes: Looking Here as Well as There https://arxiv.org/abs/1609.04635 JOHN GERTZ is the President and CEO of Zorro Productions, Inc. He teamed up with Quentin Tarantino to create the graphic novel, Django/Zorro, currently being developed into a motion picture by SONY. Yo! Ross promised you we'd only be a day late and here we are, one day late and twice as cold. Anywho, what even is time? This week's episode starts with two of Ross's favourite things, musicals and movies abusing his favourite characters. We share the real reason Disney made Frozen and dream about Lock, Stock and two smoking Hercules. We speculate on Zorro's clothing items and how many movies they can produce. The Brasse prove that manifesting movies into reality is not possible and get sad about Lightyear not making monies. We then obviously make inappropriate jokes while talking about a kids film and try our best to reassure people that there are more than enough MCU characters that can still be explored. We unfortunately have WAY too much Ezra Miller news (hopefully for the last time). Ross also sneaks in a special bit of news to get Jody excited and remind everyone that Sean Connery was very comfortable with smacking ladies. This week we review the most legaciest of legacy sequels, Top Gun: Maverick. We heard some good things but, as you know, nothing is ever sure until we see it. Will it be kwai or naaai? When you go into the same field as a successful parent, there are inevitably going to be comparisons about how you measure up to their accomplishments. When you're Brennan Wagner and that parent is Matt Wagner, the accomplishments you're measuring up against are numerous. But Brennan hasn't let that stop him. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone dealing with it with more grace and humor than Brennan. Greg got a chance to finally talk to Brennan about not only his current work on the "Django/Zorro" series written by his father and drawn by Esteve Polls, but what it was like growing up in a family that also included just-retired legendary editor Diana Schutz and editor at Legendary (and Dark Horse, Oni, DC...) Bob Shreck! Brennan drops some truth bombs about being a colorist in this industry, just how many Eisners Dave Stewart has, his own art preferences and influences, and the joys of home-cooked meats. All that and more on today's episode! Robots From Tomorrow is a weekly comics podcast recorded deep beneath the Earth's surface.
