We recap this past weekend's soccer action for Calgary based teams in this episode. The Calgary Wild finished up their long road trip at York Lions Stadium where they faced AFC Toronto. One day later, Cavalry FC stepped onto the same pitch to play York United with a better final result. League One Alberta saw four matches happen on Friday evening, including two matches in Calgary. We talk about Foothills, Callies, Villains and Blizzard. Some familiar faces appeared on the scoresheet for Cavalry U21's. And the Calgary Wild U21 team had a League One debut they'd probably prefer to forget.Subscribe to our Substack or follow us on Twitter/X or on Instagram or Bluesky. Our website is yycsoccer.com

Die Lyrikerin Carolin Callies aus Ladenburg bei Heidelberg sieht das aber anders: Sie hat sich von der Physik zu ihrem neuen Lyrikband „teilchenzoo“ inspirieren lassen. What makes this 1300hp V8 time attack machine tick? Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inWith 780hp at 8psi low boost and 1300hp at 20psi high boost (that's 969kW at 1.38 Bar) options on tap via 2 externally-ish mounted Garrett G35-900 turbochargers and an LME-built, 430ci LSX, Feras Qartoumy's C6 Z06 Chevrolet Corvette is no stranger to a trophy or two as discussed at SEMA.The LSX is a 2000hp spec build using an RHS block, Callies crank, rods, Diamond pistons, Brodix head, a custom-ground camshaft from Comp Cams, and an MSD Atomic Airforce intake manifold. Part of building up to this level over the years involved using a lot of aftermarket parts that would support the required power levels, but were more suited for drag racing and dyno queen runs (no offence intended!), leading to some unexpected development requirements all for the better. The car uses a MoTeC traction control system via the M150 ECU to help keep the full boost from 3500rpm under control, and a Bosch Motorsport ABS system at the other end of the straights which has had the biggest impact on car confidence so far. So what next? One of the biggest future goals is to reduce weight. To get where it is at 2950lbs (1228kg) other than general parts stripping, the car has shed 40lbs thanks to carbon fibre body panels from Anderson Composites and a whopping 60lbs from the removal of the stock wiring harness some years ago. Adding a paddle shift setup to the PPG 6-speed sequential is also high on the list along with suspension data solutions and some tidying up of the impressive Verus Engineering & Feras developed aero package. At the time of filming the car holds at least 22 track records.Want to learn how to tune EFI? With teams now pushing 100PSI of boost to hit power levels of 3200HP and more from existing setups, we're excited to see what Bullet Race Engineering's new RB hybrid block can do.Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inDarren Palumbo is no stranger to Nissan RB26s, RB30s, or Toyota 2JZ engines with Bullet Race Engineering having produced billet blocks for each many times over the years and using this knowledge the team has gone one step further to try and remove some of the weaknesses holding the RB back, specifically the crankshaft. Traditionally more torsional twist occurs in an RB crank taking power away from the wheels by comparison to the 2JZ setup due to having a journal diameter that is 7mm smaller. Realising 2JZ main shells would fit into an RB configuration it was just a matter of adjustments to tunnel size, stud location and designing a crank to suit from there which has been done via a Callies Performance Products Ultra Billet range crankshaft using Timken alloy steel.Along with these changes Bullet and Callies took the chance to make a few other changes including a longer snout with a greater diameter and wall thickness, bigger keyway and smaller big end journals which will take a Honda bearing shell helping to keep costs and parts sourcing for maintenance a little cheaper and easier. The flywheel flange has also increased in size by 10mm and gone from 6 to 8 bolts with the threads matching those used by many small and big block Chev flywheels, again just for easier sourcing of parts. For now, the power limitation of the RB going forward now rests squarely on the current cylinder head which Bullet is also working on, but even before they are available it will be interesting to see what a difference these changes have made when it comes to getting the maximum amount of power to the ground as possible.Want to learn how to tune EFI? There are many stories and historical accounts about American Cowboys. African American cowboys rarely merit a mention in this much-storied and fabled history of the United States. One out of every 4 cowboys was black. Yet, these men never made it into canonized American popular culture. Ranchers returning from the Civil War discovered their herds were either lost or nearly wild. They attempted to round up their cattle and rebuild their herds with slave labor (Texas didn't liberate its enslaved people until years after the Emancipation Proclamation). However, in the end, ranchers were left without the free workers they were previously so dependent upon. Desperate for help rounding up maverick cattle, ranchers were compelled to hire newly freed, skilled, African-Americans as paid cowhands. This episode covers their story, history, and contributions with a fourth-generation black cowboy, Larry Callies.Larry Callies is the Founder/CEO of The Black Cowboy Museum in Rosenberg, Texas. Larry was raised in El Campo, TX. He competed in calf-roping and team roping in local rodeo circuits and had a promising country-western singing career. While researching the history of the “black cowboy,” Larry Callies discovered two of his ancestors--Major James Kerr and Captain Isaac Newton, both Texans who had children by slaves they owned from which Larry is descended. Larry opened his museum to ensure the story of the United States' Black cowboys would never be forgotten. The Black Cowboy Museum (Rosenberg, Texas): http://www.blackcowboymuseum.org Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/genealogy-adventures. As a kid, Larry Callies didnt have a doubt about what he wanted to be when he grew up. He wanted to be a cowboy. In 1960s Texas, it wasn’t common to see a young Black man wearing cowboy boots to school and competing in the rodeo. Though he was picked on and told he didn’t belong, Callies believed deeply that this was the world he was supposed to be in. More than that, he believed he had a calling to educate others on Black cowboys and help to re-write a whitewashed history of the Old West. So, in 2017, Callies opened the Black Cowboy Museum. Listen now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Professor David Callies joined the podcast to discuss his new book Regulatory Takings After Knick.
Brian is a pastor that started Saving Lost Kids by following what God has put onto his hear. Mr. Callies breaks down the real truth to why children go missing and become exploited through sex trafficking. Can’t talk about sex trafficking without talking about the missing children, which 95% can be stopped if the child had the proper safety training.FBI helped to come up with a cheap way to take DNA samples, in-which Brian hands out free ID’s to help parents have a way to pass along an identity of their child to law enforcement. The ID’s look like a passport, and are updated every 6 months for free.Through his prevention and safety awareness, Brian and his team hand out free dental kits, and Memphis police offer out free gunlocks for every gun in the house. Sex trafficking fastest growing crime in America, and it's the number 2 crime syndicate in the world. If you are looking to get involved and help Brian please click the link below to find out more about his organization.https://savinglostkids.org/

His main areas of focus are on issues at the intersection of ethics, political philosophy, technology, and the environment. Last year, he published his first book titled Climate Engineering: A Normative Perspective. We start off by discussing mitigation and adaptation as the two pillars of climate change, Daniel tells us about climate engineering and how alternative solutions such as carbon dioxide removal and solar radiation need to be a part of climate change policy. We then take a look at the international response and more specifically, the Paris Agreement. We discuss the shortfalls of the agreement, what can be done to get more commitment from countries, and the role that developed and developing countries have in bringing forward change.

Dan Callies is the owner of Oak Creek Plumbing - one of the leading providers of plumbing service repair and remodeling in his market. Oak Creek started as a simple, plumbing business for new construction. But it all changed the day Dan decided to ‘get off the truck'. Too many owners of home improvement businesses are stuck “on the truck” (i.e. stuck being the salesperson, the technician, the office manager, etc.) in their business. This is also called working IN your business, rather than ON your business. The only way to grow your business is to get off the truck and switch from thinking like a plumber or salesperson to thinking like an entrepreneur. In this episode, you'll hear me and Dan talk about: How he got off the truck, and grew his business. How you determine when it's time for you to get ‘off the truck'. What you have to have in place to get off the truck, and How to stay off the truck. And, much more. If you're stuck working IN your business and you want to grow your business and take time off without losing a beat (like Dan does), listen to this episode. The second episode of USA's new show Colony started to widen out what we know about the show's mythology and introduced a very "gray" way to ease Josh Holloway's Will Bowman into his new life as a collaborator. Is it still collaborating when your own personal ambitions align with the occupation's? We're also left with a lot of questions concerning Katie's (Callies) motivations. Is she truly riding the line between supportive collaborator's wife and up-and-coming resistance agent? Or is it possible she's really pumping Will for info and recklessly (or even calculatedly) put Will directly in harm's way? There's not enough to go on yet, but this episode definitely presents evidence on the matter. Plus, we get to see Josh Holloway walk a balance beam. Direct iTunes link.
