“Turquoise is looking for how do we bring back the village? How do we live in community again? Why are we living in these separate houses? We're not sharing resources. Everyone on the street has a snowblower, a lawnmower, you know, like the design isn't elegant, it's not an elegant design. And so I think the mind of yellow joins into turquoise and as it has studied systems, it contributes to that and we are looking for more holistic, elegant solutions to give birth to a new culture. It's like we can no longer continue down the path. And at turquoise, we are going to have to sacrifice for the whole.” For those of you who follow me on Instagram or read my newsletter on Substack, you'll know that I've been quite obsessed with Spiral Dynamics of late, and see it as one way to explain our current cultural and political dilemmas, along with so much of our internalized anxiety. It was first developed by the late professor Clare Graves, who was a contemporary and colleague of Abraham Maslow, and then advanced by professor Don Beck, who worked on post-Apartheid South Africa with Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk, and then further pushed by integral philosopher Ken Wilber. Spiral Dynamics can be heady stuff, and so I was thrilled when Nicole Churchill, a wonderfully grounded therapist and expert in Spiral Dynamics, offered to talk through the system with me for the podcast. Nicole and her husband John Churchill, who has also been a guest on Pulling the Thread, studied with Ken Wilber, and both apply it in their therapy work with both individuals and organizations. If you all end up loving Spiral Dynamics as much as I do, Nicole has offered to come back and explore how she uses it in therapy—please pass this episode on to any friends who you think might enjoy. I'm convinced that there are some keys here that can help us see the world and ourselves more clearly.

Her personal struggle with the unknown has carried her through the twists, turns and glimpses of mysterious realities. Until now she has concealed her knowledge because certain powers threatened to stand in her way. The power of disinformation and ridicule runs deep in its mission to enforce pervasive ignorance and limit access to secret knowledge. Not only has she explored her own paranormal experiences, but she also talked to thousands of UFO contact experiencers, worked on three major studies with them, and became an advocate for these greatly ridiculed people. Her journey took her deep into archival research and experimentation. She gained access to files that reveal remarkable evidence of the governments' secret interest in communicating with our non-human visitors. Most fascinating, she and a team of researchers carried out a multi-year communication experiment in search of answers to their many questions on why extraterrestrials are visiting our planet, how long they have been here, and why they have been coveting Forbidden Knowledge. You'll find the answers inside this fascinating book.BioKathleen Marden is a researcher, author, on camera expert, conference presenter, experiencer advocate, hypnosis practitioner and support group facilitator. She is known as one of the leading UFO contact researchers of our time. Since 1990, she has researched the perplexing nature of UFOs and the non-human entities associated with highly advanced aerial vehicles via her own groundbreaking research, investigation, and experimentation. Her research has extended to archival collections and the US government's involvement in the investigation of UFOs and its major studies. This has combined to give her a depth of knowledge that few possess. She is the 2013 recipient of MUFON's "Researcher of the Year" award and the 2021 recipient of the International UFO Congress "Lifetime Achievement Award".She earned a B.A. degree in social work and was employed as an educator and education services coordinator while attending graduate school. She is a certified practitioner of regression hypnosis and the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique. She has worked on three social research studies, on experiencers of ET contact, two with Ph.D. social scientists. Additionally, she offers the Awakening Souls support group for experiencers who feel an intense calling to be part of the answer and to assist others who are beginning to awaken to their relationship with Non-human intelligence. Her interest in UFOs and contact began in 1961, when her aunt and uncle, Betty and Barney Hill had a close encounter and subsequent abduction in New Hampshire's White Mountains. She spent fifteen years in painstaking investigation of the Hill abduction case and continues to seek the scientific analysis of the compelling evidence. Her bestseller with nuclear physicist Stanton T. Friedman (1934-2019) is “Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience”. She and Stanton worked together for nearly 14 years and collaborated on two additional books “Science Was Wrong” and “Fact, Fiction, and Flying Saucers”. Her book with Denise Stoner “The Alien Abduction Files” includes her investigation of six intergenerational cases of abduction/contact. Her fifth book “Extra Terrestrial Contact: What to Do When You've Been Abducted” is a comprehensive guide to contact for Experiencers, those who love them, professionals who work with Experiencers, and the interested public. Read her latest book “Forbidden Knowledge: A Personal Journey from Alien Abduction to Spiritual Transformation” for deeper insight into Kathleen's own life and works. Another absolute beaut of an Enneagram teacher, the amazingly generous and fun Deborah Ooten PhD (Sexual 8, though she doesn't use instinct categorisations in her teachings) shares about why she saw fit to pair Spiral Dynamics with the Enneagram. Deborah's work has been pioneering in the field. Its an experience and its personal!

Franciscan Spirituality Center920 Market StreetLa Crosse, WI 54601608-791-5295https://www.fscenter.orgSteve Spilde: Today it is my special pleasure to welcome Trace Bell. I love listening to podcasts, and my all-time favorite is the RobCast. Trace is a regular co-host there with his father, Rob Bell. Last year, Trace and Rob changed how I see life with their four-part podcast series titled, “Me, We, and Everybody.” In the podcast, they provide a great introduction to Spiral Dynamics and helped me grasp an integral perspective on spirituality. I am excited to welcome Trace to this podcast. Trace, I appreciate that series of “Me, We, and Everybody” so much because it helped me understand what has been happening in our politics for the last five or six years. It also helped me understand the path of spiritual growth that I've been on, and the spiritual struggles I encounter with many people I meet in Spiritual Direction. Trace, I apologize for putting you on the spot, but for our listeners who may be unfamiliar with what we mean by “Spiral Dynamics,” how would you describe this theory?Trace Bell: First off, I'm so honored for everything you said; it makes me so happy to hear people's response to that series. I'm honored. It's not putting me on the spot. I've been explaining this in a lot of ways to a lot of people, and I love it. I love sharing this with people. Spiral Dynamics is a psychological development model that maps the evolutionary patterns of humans and individuals. It models how _____ individuals psychologically develop in collective. It was developed a couple decades ago by guys named Clare Graves and Don Beck, who were psychologists. They found that humans over time, their value systems change as they go through these stages of growth. This is what Spiral Dynamics is ultimately mapping: It's mapping that there are certain stages of growth the humans go through, and groups go through as well. It's been a really illuminating and helpful model because it allows you to see your own growth and the certain stages you went through in your own journey. It allows you to understand … A lot of people are simply acting from different stages in this model, and they're acting from different perspectives. Another way people describe Spiral Dynamics is it maps the evolution of consciousness. Your consciousness increases in its ability for complexity and depth and compassion and empathy over time. That's what Spiral Dynamics ultimately maps: It maps how humans grow to more whole, aligned, integrated individuals.Steve: [On] the RobCast, everything is spiritual, so it always looks at things through sort of a spiritual lens. How do you connect Spiral Dynamics with spirituality, in particular?Trace: The spiritual implications of Spiral Dynamics kind of hit me in the face when I first learned the model. It describes the growth that people go through on their journeys. And you can see as people grow in this high-level development, spirituality becomes an integral aspect of these higher levels of development. The higher levels on this model of Spiral Dynamics, people at these higher levels are often maturing to a deeper spirituality and taking a very spiritual perspective on things. Spiritual development and spiritual evolution, if you will, is kind of inherent in the design of our reality. A model that maps this development of humans in groups is going to say a lot about the spiritual evolution of the people that it's mapping. There are a lot of spiritual implications … One of the stages in Spiral Dynamics – which we teach in our class, “Living the Spirals” – [is] actually a stage about your deep connection to your personal connection to spirituality, your personal connection to reality itself. It's literally a stage … There are actually stages in this model that describe and articulate people's personal connection to spirituality. In those higher stages – those integrated, integral perspectives – those stages are so intertwined with spirituality, and it takes a very spiritual value of having compassion for everyone, understand that people are coming from different perspectives, meeting people where they're at.The spiritual implications are endless. It's very fun for people to learn the model and kind of take away their own conclusions and find their own ‘a-has' and insight through the model. I've watched people over time learn Spiral Dynamics and take away their own insights that I didn't even get when I learned it, or I didn't even realize. I would urge anyone listening to go check out the model themselves and see if they can find any spiritual implications or spirituality within it because spirituality is a language that speaks to us personally. The model speaks differently to different people, and different people have different insights. That's what so beautiful about it: It has so many different ways to read and understand it.Steve: I would just say for people who are listening to this to do yourself a favor and listen to that series – it's “Me, We, and Everybody.” If you do a search on the RobCast, it was like last year [in] November. You and Rob just do such a great job of making it accessible. It's complex material, but yet it's very understandable. I can see anyone understanding it, especially the way you presented it. I just encourage people to listen to that, and then you'll want to end up reading more.Trace: Thank you. That was our goal when we recorded it. My dad has been teaching Spiral Dynamics for over a decade, and he [asked], “What forum am I meant to teach this in? Is it supposed to be a video series? Is it supposed to be a book?” And then he [said], “Let's do a podcast series.” He [asked me], “Trace, will you join me for this podcast series?” He and I were talking about it, and I had learned it a year prior, and [we said], “Yeah, let's do a podcast series.” We said down and [asked ourselves], “How can we do this in our Trace and Rob language the best that connects with the most people and is the most accessible, and also makes them want to learn more?” To hear that it had that effect on people just makes me so happy. Thank you.Steve: You are relatively young – you're in your mid-20s, correct?Trace: Yup.Steve: [Talk] about your spiritual journey and how the Spiral Dynamics might fit into that for you.Trace: The first time my dad sat down and taught me Spiral Dynamics, it was a very Rob Bell moment. He sat down at the kitchen counter with two big blank sheets of white paper with a marker. And [I thought to myself], “OK, this is going to be a Rob Bell moment here.” [He told me], “I'm going to teach you Spiral Dynamics.” And boom, he just wrote it out on two big blank white sheets of paper. He just wrote it out in his writing, and it was just beautiful. I had this whole model in front of me, and I ended up actually hanging it in my bedroom because it was kind of like a souvenir almost. When I first learned Spiral Dynamics, it really connected a lot … It really put language in a framework to a lot of the things I had experienced. I grew up with my parents starting a massive megachurch in Michigan. My dad was teaching at the church, my parents were very involved with the church, and that kind of was their project. My dad was very involved in the Christian world. People are kind of surprised when they hear me say this, but I just never really connected with any sort of organized religious structure when I was younger. I just never felt like a deep connection to Christianity, and I didn't really feel a deep connection to the church or what my parents were doing. My parents kind of kept the kids separate from the church a little bit – they didn't involve us very much in the church life.I didn't really have a connection to any sort of religious structure or consider myself religious at all, but as a kid I had a deep, metaphysical kind of wonder about the universe. [It was] a deep sort of wonder and awe about the universe, and a deep wonder and awe about consciousness. I say that everyone has their own doorway into spirituality, which is everyone has their own way that they came into spirituality, and [their own] way that the universe kind of ushered them into a deeper relationship with God, source, spirit – whatever word you want to call it. And to me, that felt like my doorway. My doorway wasn't organized religion; my doorway was this deep kind of yearning to connect with reality and to connect and understand who I am and understand the interconnectedness of everything. My growth throughout the years was just kind of following this thread of deep wonder. As a kid, I was reading about consciousness and I was reading about different kinds of religions and I was just reading a bunch of things to satisfy this yearning and this wonder and awe.My spiritual journey has been reintegrating and following that childlike wonder and awe and exploring that. I had a deep kind of connection to spirituality and this deep spiritual connection. When I learned Spiral Dynamics, I could see the reason it was so illuminating for me on my own personal journey is that I could actually see myself going through all those stages throughout my life. I could actually see myself … There's a stage called “Orange,” which is very logic-oriented and very associated with the rational mind. When I learned Spiral Dynamics, I [said to myself], “I remember when I went through my ‘Orange' phase.' There's a stage called “Green,” which is all about seeing everyone as equal and having compassion and love for everyone. I [said to myself], “I remember when I went through my ‘Green' phase.' I could actually see all of these stages of consciousness within myself and within my own growth journey. And it wasn't just like stages of consciousness that I had sort of gone through and didn't have any access to.

Today's guest is Dr Rica Viljoen: "Rica worked closely with Dr Don Beck to translate spiral dynamic theory in a pragmatic way. She co-authored the book Spiral Dynamics in Action. She is the founder of the Centre of Human Emergence: Africa and actively involved in the integral space. Rica is an international organisational development and change specialist that focuses on multiculturalism and inclusivity. Her key interest resides in supporting organisations to create sustainable organisational cultures that result in business results through the optimisation of individual leadership behaviour, functional group dynamics and organisational sustainability. These key strategic factors are considered in the context of the industry and the country of operations." The main focus of this episode is to explore Spiral Dynamics (SD) in more depth. Rica was instrumental with training a global mining company in SD whose headquarters are in South Africa. We used the mining company as a practical example to explore the nuances of SD. In addition, we discuss the research of Clare Graves and the history of Ken Wilber's involvement with SD. Today's episode also features a guest host for the first time, Ryan Nakade. The key topic of this discussion as Spiral Dynamics, a model of understanding the human collective and individual consciences through levels & layers of values frameworks. Created by Clare Graves in the time of Maslow, and built up by Don Beck, Spiral Dynamics is a fascinating way to understand human behaviour both at an individual and collective level. Apart from Spiral, the conversation covered: - Localism & Decentralisation - Global connectedness VS Globalism - Globalism = Industrial Farming & Monsanto - Localism = Permaculture - Globalism cannot work because the principles it sits on are false. - It removes accountability - Technocratic leviathans can only exist within the framework of a monopolistic state - Localism is natural & emergent. That's why it was they “way it used to be”. - Values are emergent & people naturally align around tribes & communities - The Municipality has the MOST power, then the city, then the state, then the nation. - Comfort & convenience. - Static VS Dynamic inequality. - Can move up. Tackle the problems you solve in business at the level of your client’s understanding, not at the level of the sophistication of your solution to their problem. Keep it simple. Your client comes with a ‘simple’ problem, “I want more leads!” But as you might well know, it’s not as simple as that. The solution might well be a very complex one in order to get the ‘simple’ desired outcome. But if you dive straight into the complexities of your product and solution, you’ll likely lose them and their business in first few minutes. Many years ago, I was fortunate to hear the inspirational Don Beck speak. Co-creator of “Spiral Dynamics”. For me the one HUGE take-away from his talk was about tackling problems at the level of the people involved. In other words, you might be the smartest person in the room on a given subject, but you’ll never create change communicating at that level. You have to be aware of the level your audience is operating from and meet them there. In this episode, I talk about how we can relate this to our prospects and clients. We can easily overwhelm our potential customers by bombarding them with information and facts leading to a missed opportunity for both parties. As one of my Success Groups Members succinctly concluded, “Tackle the problem at the level of your client, not at the level of the sophistication of the solution”. Different states of awareness or levels of consciousness exist in our universe. In this Conscious Leadership in Action conversation, Charlie Efford relates these levels of consciousness to octaves on a musical scale, each having a number of notes within it. Higher octaves mean higher levels of consciousness. During our conversation, Charlie provided a fascinating description of the color coded spirals described by Frederic Laloux in Reinventing Organizations and Don Beck and Christopher Cowan in Spiral Dynamics, with references to vertical and horizontal learning. Charlie suggested that lot of the work around conscious leadership is probably coming out of the green level of consciousness, maybe tipping a little bit towards teal and raised the question, Is the world approaching a point where we’re about to make a jump up to another octave? Exploring higher levels of consciousness beyond green and yellow is challenging. It’s difficult to understand what green leadership would look like if you’re predominantly operating at an orange level. Speaking the green language or conscious leadership language to someone who was very firmly at the orange level, makes no sense to them. They just don’t get. It’s not their fault, they haven’t experienced it yet. To view the Conscious Leadership in Action video conversation with Charlie Efford, go to my YouTube channel.

World-renowned evolutionary leader, teacher and author Barbara Marx Hubbard transitioned just two weeks ago with blessings given from around the world to her as she embarks upon the next steps of her profound journey.  Barbara has been a guest on A Better World Radio & TV a number of times over the years starting in her own living room in Santa Barbara around 10 years ago and her presence will be greatly missed. Until her recent passing, Barbara worked with Don Beck on a series of global initiatives through the House of Lords, the U,N., etc.  To discuss these joint projects as well as his work-at-large, Don will be joining Mitchell in this week's show. Don has been developing, implementing, and teaching the evolutionary theory of Spiral Dynamics for more than three decades. Beck has elaborated upon the work of his  spiralmentor, Clare Graves, to develop a multidimensional model for understanding the evolutionary transformation of human values and cultures. As cofounder of the National Values Center and CEO of the Spiral Dynamics Group, Inc., Beck is employing the Spiral Dynamics model to effect large-scale systems change in and among various sectors and societies of the world. He is the author of Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership & Change.  Beck's consulting career has led him to such settings as 10 Downing Street to consult with Tony Blair's Policy Unit; the south side of Chicago to address the problems faced by inner-city schools; the World Bank to consider the future of Afghanistan; and the boardrooms of major banks, energy companies, airlines, and government agencies. In his 63 trips to South Africa between 1981 and 1988, he had significant impact on political leaders, the business sector, religious leadership, and the general public in order to help bring about the peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/abwmitchellrabin/support

For the fifth episode of MUTATIONS, I am pleased to bring you Michael Brooks. Michael is a political journalist, integral thinker, and host of The Michael Brooks show. Together we explore the Intellectual Dark Web (the subject of his upcoming book from Zero Books) and Jordan Peterson. We also consider the alternative depth psychologist, James Hillman (who arguably speaks more from the left), the applicability of Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory to politics, a need in the consciousness culture for a historic grounding in economic theory, and building towards authentic, bottom-up planetary meshworks.SHOW NOTES / FLORILEGIUMThe Michael Brooks Show on PatreonMichael’s TwitterThe Michael Brooks Show on YouTubeMichael Brooks on Zero BooksJames Hillman, We’ve Had a Hundred Years of Psychotherapy—And the World’s Getting WorseJames Hillman, Re-Visioning Psychology (Recommended)Rebel Wisdom with Doshin Nelson Roshi (apologies for the brain fog during the recording), “A Zen Master Talks About Jordan Peterson and the Shadow”Notes: This conversation and the heated, bifurcated response to it (200k+ views) is very interesting. So much so that there was a follow-up episode with Rebel Wisdom to reflect on why it hit such a nerve. Ken Wilber, in the late 90s and early 2000s, critiqued much of postmodern academia and the progressive left as “flatland reductionism,” “mean green meme” (via Don Beck’s Spiral Dynamics), and “aperspectival madness” (an unfortunate hijacking of Jean Gebser’s term, ‘aperspectival,’ which means something completely different) many years before the Peterson phenomenon in popular culture. There is some substance in these criticisms, (i.e. “true-but-partial”). As we noted in this episode by way of Mark Fisher’s essay, or Angela Nagel’s Kill All Normies, a critique from within the left is needed, and as Rebel Wisdom says often, “the left needs to get its house in order.” I’m in support of this. However, a knowledge and literacy of leftist“theory” is something I often sense is sorely lacking in the integral movement. This is something that Wilber shares with Peterson: a postmodern “allergy,” a lack of progressive metabolism. Integral oriented thinkers from the progressive left desperately need to step forward and bridge that gap. This is why I’m so interested in working with Jean Gebser’s insights into the aperspectival consciousness/integral culture to explore the phenomenology of our culture: the stasis of Gebser’s deficient mental-rational structure, and the crisis of late capitalism, co-inform my understanding of Mark Fisher’s capitalist realism and the Möbius strip of consc --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mutations/message

Anna Johansson from Sweden, living in surfers´ paradise Puerto Escondido on the west coast of Mexico since the early 80´s, combine an intriguing variety of therapeutic methods and schools into her very own mix of psychologic remedies. So is this a new age-ish breed of mumbo-jumbo? Far from it. Anna is solidly grounded and eons from incense-infested prayers. With a solid knowledge base and education, she’s supporting people in their personal growth and understanding of themselves. In this pod, we get to know these disciplines and methods, as well as getting insights into the challenging work as a therapist in a country far from the relative stability and calm of the west. How can Anna empower people, teach them techniques and strategies to move on, to feel better and more at ease with themselves? She’s coping with her intense and long workings hours by taking care of herself through movement in various forms - for example swimming with dolphins. She also talks about how yoga changed her life and how her everyday life is affected by the violence and corruption in Mexico. There are, as we hear, big differences between Mexico and the west and of course big challenges ahead for the people in the country she loves dearly. The book Anna talks about as one of her favourites is Don Beck´s “Spiral Dynamics”. Another one is “When God was a woman” by Merlin Stone. And of course she’s seen “Roma” on Netflix and it grows on her. You can find Anna Johansson on Facebook if you look for the Anna Johansson who lives in Puerto Escondio. Maybe it was not a coincidence that I met a guy on the plane home to Sweden who read a book by Alejandro Jodorowsky. Spiral dynamics, 7 levels of living, or 7 levels of consciousness (the various names for this model) is one of my all time favourite frameworks for understanding how to grow as a human being.First created by Don Beck and Chris Cowen in the 1980's the descriptions of each level are useful for understanding where you currently are and where you'd like to be.Every level is an important and healthy part of developing as a human, yet the longer you stay there without growing, the more hazardous it becomes. You can't skip levels and you can't move on until you've learnt the lessons of that level. Also, it is possible to be living on one level in a certain area of life and a different level in another area. The aim of the game is to grow to your full potential and live in a way that impacts the world!

In this episode I had the distinct pleasure to talk to the godfather und founder of Spiral Dynamics, Dr. Don Beck. We talked a bit about his upcoming new book 'Spiral Dynamics in Action' about the current state of affairs of our culture, the Ken Wilber controversy, and more. Check it out!

Presence: A Global Conversation for a New Earth.

Today we discuss the Warrior level of consciousness as human world-views evolved from the more simplistic, Tribal level or stage. Once again, we refer to the work of Don Beck and Chris Cowan, “Spiral Dynamics” as the basis for our discussion of the Biblical Narrative in lieu of world history. Israel’s interpretation of God and God Identity was shaped through the red lens (warrior) of power and dominator hierarchies. God did not evolve into a different God as the Narrative progresses, but rather, human consciousness evolved as humans grappled with the nature of identity. The Warrior level represented a lot of deconstruction and chaos. The previous tribal level functioned primarily through isolation and separation of groups, but as populations encountered each other war became the default way of dealing with differences. The Warrior level is ever present, even today, as the egoic response to perceived threats. We discuss how many people in the Christian religion have suffered at the hands of those in power. Fear is the major weapon of choice for silencing those who dare question the power brokers. Jesus experienced first hand this mindset. As we continue to grow beyond 2000 year old paradigms, we should expect nothing less. When the ego attaches to a form for identity, the blood will flow when that identity is threatened. Thanks for joining the conversation!

Spiral Dynamics and the Biblical Narrative In this Episode we will be introducing Integral Theology, a topic that will be the basis for ongoing discussion using the model called “Spiral Dyamics”. This is a model being used in many fields such as, business, politics, world relations, finance and even sports to trace the history and evolution of human world views. We will be using Spirial Dynamics in the application of the Biblical Narrative. You can read more about Spiral Dynamics, based on the work of Clare Graves, by Don Beck and Christopher Cowan. Don Beck used the Spiral applications in his work with Nelson Mandela as he made over 25 trips to South Africa to help to bring together people who saw themselves having different identities and different human values. The movie “Invictus” was based on his work with Mr. Mandela. Who might be interested in this podcast
: *Pastors *Spiritual Teachers *Anyone trying to navigate your own spiritual evolution As an example of our study of the Spiral in relation to the Biblical Narrative I would first quote Paul and his understanding of the evolution of human consciousness when he said, “when I was a child I spoke as a child….” saying childhood is a necessary role and function that leads to adulthood. Integral Theology is an All-In-All theology. Any spiritual or religious viewpoint that discriminates or marginalizes or brings about an identity of less than/more than is what we at Presence will call into question. It’s time to talk about those ‘lines in the sand’! What are boundaries with regard to human spiritual identity? What is our source of identity? As we move along in these podcasts the subjects of Identity, Form and Boundarieswill be key topics. Are we experiencing a Human Identity Crisis? I believe so! On this episode of Conscious Bridge Radio, Mark Gilbert presents some of the best moments from the show from the year 2016.  The retrospective begins and ends with discussions of Donald Trump. From the January program, Spiral Dynamics co-author Don Beck surprises us by describing how Trump might be the "transitional" leader that we may be looking for at this point in our evolution.  In a discussion that foretells the election, Beck explains why he was impressed with Trump. The program ends with excerpts from our last regular program of the year featuring spiritual teachers Gregory Toole and Barbara Bue discussing what Trump, along with each of us, can do to heal the divisiveness in our country. Other excerpts include Arun Gandhi discussing what his grandfather meant by the phrase "be the change", evolutionary teacher Michael Dowd describing why we are facing potential extinction and what we can do about it and Lee Eric Smith of the website "A Message From God" offers what exactly he means by "talking to God" and how such messages are available to all of us.  All in all, it's a great opportunity to listen some of the best moments from the past year. Dr Don Beck, who joins me today, is a leading authority on Spiral Dynamics. This is a theory about the development of human consciousness, and the human journey. It divides the human journey up into 2 levels of consciousness, and within those two levels are different stages, all of which are part of both our individual journeys, and the journey of humanity as a whole.  Don and I outline these different stages in a very basic way, how they have unfolded through history and we discuss how this revolutionary concept is tied into politics, culture, faith, church, and creativity. We in particularly consider the political situation in America & the world right now, and what the theory means for church and the Christian faith. Finally, we discuss how we are meant to transcend and include all the different stages, and use the best of each stages, to come to a more unified, inclusive church, life, and world. I'm still at the beginning of this journey myself, and it's already blown my mind. I think Don's going to blow your mind too.  ***** For more on Spiral Dymanics check out SpiralDynamics.com & to understand stages of consciousness (which are all colour coded), go here, or download this PDF:  www.humanemergence.org/images/Spiral%20Dynamics%20model.pdf
