Navigating a health journey can be challenging, especially when it involves significant dietary changes and their impact on family dynamics. In this episode of the Primal Shift Podcast, my wife Kathy and I open up about our transition through various diets and how it affected our lives and relationship. Our journey began when Kathy was diagnosed with prediabetes. We decided to cut out processed sugars, which seemed straightforward. But soon thereafter, I became interested in the Paleo diet and enthusiastically declared that we were switching to that significantly more restrictive dietary framework. Kathy didn't share my enthusiasm. Switching to Paleo meant eliminating staple foods like beans, rice, and lentils from our diet. She was born and raised in Costa Rica, where these foods are a central part of the cuisine, so I was essentially asking her to give up a number of beloved traditional dishes. Despite our initial struggles, we adapted and learned to prepare Paleo-friendly versions of our favorite meals. Then, just when we thought we had it all figured out, I discovered keto and once again, we faced the challenge of another dietary overhaul. This time, it meant cutting out even more carbs, including natural sweeteners and many of the ingredients Kathy had started using in her cooking. Reflecting on this period, Kathy recalls how our son had stomach issues due to the high consumption of almond flour and almond milk, which were two common ingredients in our keto recipes. We eventually realized that while keto had its benefits, it wasn't the ultimate solution for us. We moved towards a more nuanced approach, combining elements of Paleo and keto with a focus on ingredient quality and avoiding processed foods. A pivotal moment came when I wanted to experiment with the carnivore diet. Having learned from past experiences, I approached this transition with more caution, suggesting a trial period rather than an immediate switch. This experiment taught us valuable lessons about the benefits of an animal-based diet while still incorporating seasonal fruits and the least toxic plants. Kathy's perspective on these changes has evolved, especially as she seeks information from other influencers and sources. For instance, she discovered that women tolerate cold exposure differently than men, leading us to adjust our cold plunge temperatures accordingly. During our conversation, we also discuss the broader challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in modern society, such as the convenience of processed foods and the social pressure to conform. Kathy highlights the difficulties of preparing healthy meals and dealing with criticism at social gatherings. Lastly, we touch on the rewarding yet demanding aspects of homesteading, including growing our own food and raising animals. While it's not always easy, the benefits of fresh, homegrown produce and the satisfaction of self-sufficiency make it worthwhile. Join us as we share our insights and strategies for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, the importance of adaptability, and the ongoing journey of discovering what works best for our family. TwoSistas and it's WealthWellnessWednesday with Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Tanya Panyter! Dr. Panyter left the world of "traditional medical care" to create an online business and coaching program for women struggling with chronic migraines. (Dr. Panyter graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a minor in Inorganic Chemistry. She went to medical school at Bastyr University and received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2012.) Dr. Panyter certainly relates to her patients on an intimate level as she faced her own struggles with chronic headaches and migraines and the amazing changes she discovered around treating migraines with a whole body, integrated approach. Dr. Panyter's online program has assisted women struggling with chronic migraine who are finding that conventional treatment approaches are not working well and who are looking to find a way to heal their body, not just control their symptoms. Along with a depletion of serotonin, Dr. Panyter mentioned that diet, stress, even a certain spice, tap water (and so much more) can trigger the onset of a migraine. Everyone is so very different! If you are suffering from migraines, it may be beneficial for someone to journal what their day is like, what they have eaten to see if there is any correlation to the onset of a migraine. Dr. Panyter went into great detail and provided such valuable information for those seeking alternative treatments. She mentioned that for many of her patients it's best to be on an whole grain anti-inflammatory type of diet - many of her patients have found relief from a Paleo / Keto type of diet. (Always check with your physician or connect with Dr. Panyter.) We enjoyed our conversation with Dr. Panyter today - we learned so much in just a short amount of time - thankyou Dr. Panyter! IN THIS EPISODE:I got the job! I talk about how the trip out to Boston went, how I rocked my presentation, and how I had an offer letter that next day, which I accepted. Now I just had to figure out how to tell my current boss, which I was dreading. My plan was to hold off after the New Year, and based on year-end meetings and discussions about the uncertainty of the direction of my role and the company, I did feel a lot better about my decision.I recognize that I got sick because my nutrition and health was so bad, and so I was headed to the grocery store to do some shopping. My plan was to eat Paleo... nothing processed, and start there. That was the way I ate (Paleo-Keto) when I lost weight. And I had waited until I got back from my trip to send a final text to my former best friend, letting him know I got the job, thanking him for his prayers (knowing he probably didn't even pray for me) and wished him well. I knew he'd understand my subtle/not-so-subtle "my life goes on with good things" implication. Finally, I talk about my other friend who is trying so hard to get a job, but who is stuck for some reason on having a high level title like director or manager, because it means something to her. But she doesn't have the experience for those kinds of positions and isn't qualified, so she keeps getting rejected. NEW! This podcast is now available for free to all Audible members! Dr. Mark Hyman has been on Bulletproof Radio multiple times, because he’s got a lot to teach us about food, the food industry and how to be healthy in a world full of conflicting information and unhealthy choices. In this episode, we talk about his newest book based on a Pegan Diet (Vegan+Paleo). He’s literally bridging the gap between the “right” and “wrong” sides of eating that often surround diet culture. For decades, the diet wars have pitted advocates for the low-carb, high-fat paleo diet against advocates of the exclusively plant-based vegan diet and dozens of other diets, leaving many people bewildered and confused. Dr. Hyman wants us to know that although there are foundational principles for what we eat, there’s not a one size fits all diet, which he talks about in his newest book: “The Pegan Diet: 21 Practical Principles for Reclaiming Your Health in a Nutritionally Confusing World.” “Everybody's fighting with each other and we're fighting the wrong person,” Dr. Hyman says. “We should be fighting with the traditional American diet, we call the standard American diet or the SAD diet. That's really what's driving the chronic disease epidemic.”He’s created a framework on dieting based on the fact that food is medicine, and every diet affects every person differently. Certain foods can act as magic medicine for our bodies, sometimes improving our physical and/or more mental health in a mere matter of days, but some things might not work.“No two people will thrive in the same way based on the same diet,” he says. “You might ideologically be a vegan, but it might be the worst thing for you or you might ideologically want to eat keto, but it might be the worst thing for you. On the other hand, you might thrive. It's important to understand what your body's doing.”We also talk about the power of choosing to eat as a “regenetarian,” a phrase coined by Dr. Hyman. It means the way you choose to eat is not only based on what feels good for you, but what’s good for the planet. “The way we actually grow food and the food we eat that's grown in the way it's grown degenerates our health which is why we have six out of 10 Americans with a chronic disease and 88% metabolically unhealthy. It degenerates ecological systems, environmental health and accelerates climate change. We should not be eating in a way that kills us and kills the planet, right?”As we approach crises in chronic disease, our agricultural and food systems, changing your diet can be a bigger game-changer than it’s ever been. While working in the lab, he started to research CBD and the studies on CBD and other cannabinoids. He realized that CBD works wonders but only in effective doses. While researching CBD brands to use, he found that no brands offered the doses needed at an affordable cost. This led him to create Santa Cruz Medicinals to provide a high-quality, direct to consumer solution for CBD. After founding Santa Cruz Medicinals he is taking the same business principles of high quality products and an ingredient first mentality into Santa Cruz Paleo to provide amazing keto and paleo snacks, functional foods, and supplements. Show Notes: News topic du jour: Obesity: More Than an Inflammatory, an Infectious Disease? 1. Can We Really Increase Our Longevity? [11:42] Christopher says: Do you think that as we deepen our understanding of the biochemistry of nutrition that we will reach a point where we can indefinitely prolong life? 2. How Salty Are You? [15:44] Jason says: Robb, I was wondering what your sodium numbers are daily, does it change when you train? Now imagine being 230lbs, what should my sodium numbers be, on BJJ days and non-workout days? thanks, Jason 3. Cholesterol and Statins? [22:12] Tom says: Hi Robb and Nicki, Thanks to your work, along with Kresser and Sisson, I've lost about 50 lbs since discovering Paleo/Keto in 2013. Before that I was on Lipitor, but after getting down to about 200 lbs (and all but completely solving my IBS) I decided on my own to go off of it and visit a functional doctor/nutritionist. My numbers looked worse initially (Total Cholesterol from 204 to 290, Triglycerides 138 to 285, HDL 40 to 34) but she put me on a variety of temporary supplements and therapies, such as saunas and detox foot baths, and also recommended I replace cow dairy with goat dairy. I was encouraged 6 months later when my total cholesterol looked similar, but my Triglycerides went from 285 all the way down to 131 and my HDL ticked up to 38. But then I became discouraged again when she had my LDL-Particle number tested and it was off the charts at over 2500. So my question is, while I know you can't dispense medical advice on a podcast, should I at least consider going back onto a statin? I'm 38 years old and 5'7, so I could certainly try to lose another 30 lbs or so and have my blood tested again, but I feel really good in every other way. My sleep is good and I don't feel stressed, although I could stand to exercise more. I'm willing to put in the work of losing more weight if it means better health, and perhaps it will anyway, but after losing so much already, I feel like I'm in a really good place in my life where I can maintain the weight I'm at and still feel like I'm living my life. I've come this far largely thanks to you, so any advice you can give me now would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 4. Blood Flow Restriction Training? [34:28] Sara says: How do you feel about BFR training to help with muscle gain? 5. What Affects HRV? [37:40] Susie says: Dear Robb I’m trying hard to find anything you’ve done on CrossFit/keto/women/PMS/HRV ... managing all of these things. I feel like I am constantly googling to sense check things - like does HRV drop when we PMS? Does keto impact on HRV? Perhaps you’ve done a podcast and I haven’t found it yet? Best wishes, what you do is brilliant ...

Robb Wolf - The Paleo Solution Podcast - Paleo diet, nutrition, fitness, and health
We're at it with another Q&A podcast, Episode 423! If you want to see the video for this podcast, be sure to check out our YouTube channel. Show Notes 1. [1:31] Aced the 7 day challenge like your wife! So why am I doing this??? Erica says: Hello, I LOVED your book Wired to Eat. I'm a 31 year old female. 6ft, at my goal of 160ish lb, 20% body fat. Ive never been heavy, don’t have diabetes in my family. I do have a history of disordered eating - counting/restricting calories and then binge eating until a year ago when I found low carb. I’ve been on thyroid meds for a few months now, possibly because of the calorie restriction. I’ve had high cholesterol all my life and now it’s even higher since starting Keto 2 months ago (total from 274 to 336! HDL ratio went from 3.2 to 4.7! Triglycerides now 106 (non-fasting), havent had my A1C checked for awhile but it was 5.3 long before keto. going to have my LDLp and fructosamine checked soon.) Low carb/intermittent fasting has reallly helped me maintain my weight while avoiding trigger foods. I went full Keto 2 months ago because the hunger control intrigued me. It’s gotten MUCH more tolerable, but I still get hunger pangs for breakfast and afternoon snacks daily. But for the first time in my life my very hormonal acne cleared up from keto! Now, I took the test after 2 months keto and aced it! Every day of the challenge my glucose was similar to your wife's, even the day I ate a doughnut! So my question is... why am I doing this whole low carb thing? I guess no pimples and no trigger foods is a good enough reason; but my question is, are bad carbs even that bad in my case? Maybe my insulin response is a different picture, as my weight seems to come back easily with carbs? But it sure makes resisting cravings difficult now that I know my glucose response will be fine if I have that doughnut and I'll go back to my usual mild ketosis within a few hours if I can manage not to eat again soon after. Any tips? Has your wife changed how she eats now that she knows her blood glucose will be fine with most anything she eats? Thank you so much for your response! 2. [10:10] Beer and blood sugar Thom says: Robb and Nicki: Thank you both so much for the work you do to educate the Paleo/Keto community. I have been Paleo for nearly 6 years now and Keto for 2, due to a suggestion given me after having a colectomy and still not feeling good. The results I've experienced are nothing short of miraculous. That has led me to become a huge advocate for the lifestyle and to share it with anyone who will listen. I do heating and air conditioning service, which affords me the opportunity to share it with many people. My question is this: You have mentioned many times that we should do as many N=1 experiments to see what works for us individually. I have been keeping tabs on my blood sugars, blood pressure, O2 and heart rate levels as well as several clinical blood tests (I don't visit the doctor very often, since all they want to do is shove drugs in me every time I go in). Over the years I've been able to hone in on the majority of foods or lifestyles that make me feel good and the ones that make me feel not-so-good. That said, I wanted to pose a question to you. I have done this test over and over and am very shocked by the results. If I have a typical dinner with a salad or veggies of some sort and some meat, then pair that with low carb wine or tequila, lime and soda water (both very low carb drinks), my blood sugars will be somewhere between 130 and 180 two hours later. However, if I have beer (typically dark, because I prefer the porters and stouts) and check my blood sugars two hours later, I'm usually below 100 and sometimes as low as 80 or 78. I have tested these variables over and over throughout this past year (yes, I like my drink) and I get the same results. However, I HAVE noticed that the lighter beers, such as ales or lighter IPA's do not keep my blood sugars quite as low. Do you know of anything that might explain this phenomenon? I have many more questions I would like to ask you, but I'll leave it at this one for now. Again, thank you both for all you have done and are doing to keep this community going. My son keeps telling me that I should start my own blog and podcast to help spread the word about this lifestyle. When he does I always mention that I have no definable credentials, such as yours, so I'm not convinced anyone would even listen to it. So, instead I point him, and many others, to your podcast and website, along with Jimmy's, Chris's and Mark's. You're all very educational and the cornerstones of this community. Keep up the good work. ThomE 3. [15:28] High morning glucose on LCHF diet (95 mg/dl) Gregor says: Hi Robb, I really appreciate what you are doing and I am a great fan of your podcasts (I read transcripts). Anyway, to the point: after I cut off grains, sugar, legumes and so on, my fasting glucose went high. On average it is 95 mg/dl, mostly between 90 and 100 mg/dl. You mentioned this subject in your 385th podcast with Shawn Baker (one of my favorites podcasts on your site), but I didn't feel it was fully addressed and explained. I have a graph for about 15 years of measurements here: https://paleosmak.pl/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/glukoza-paleo-2018.png - around 2010 I turned paleo/lchf. Recently I have measured my fasting insulin level and it was 4,9 µIU/ml. I have also measured my glucose levels for one typical day and it is very stable, between 90 and 109 - here is the graph: https://paleosmak.pl/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/dobowy-profil-glikemii-paleo-smak.png (the orange vertical lines are meals, I eat only twice a day). I know I am no diabetic. I have no health issues except 2-3 mild autoimmune diseases (the symptoms come and go). Is my quite high fasting glucose anything to worry about? I have a friend following quite similar diet and life style and his fasting sugar is around 70-75. Does my 95 mg/dl fasting sugar have negative impact on my health, aging speed and so on? Can I do anything about that? Thanks so much for talking one more time about that. Gregor https://optimisingnutrition.com/2019/04/02/how-much-salt-do-you-need/ https://www.drinklmnt.com/the-science 4. [20:12] paleo approach to skin care Andrea says: Robb, do you have any advice about skin care, such as use of any daily moisturizer or other products? I don't use daily sunscreen because I tend to have low Vitamin D levels, but I use it if I'm going to be outside for an extended period of time. I am approaching 40 and only use a bit of jojoba oil as a moisturizer. I wash my face with bar soap (not the antibacterial kind). I'm not sure if my minimalist approach is the way to go. Maybe your wife has some experience with some products for women? Thanks! Anne marie skin care Feather eagle sky beauty face oil ***Organic Rose Hip Seed oil, Sweet Almond oil, Argan oil sunscreen 5. [25:51] Weight loss and fat tissue toxin-release Jarno says: Hi Robb, Greetings from Finland! I love your work, thank you for everything you do! I really liked your stance on the carnivore diet as you discussed it with Mikhayla Peterson. Let's not become vegan zealots about it. I've been eating 70-80% carnivore for 6 months and feeling mostly great. Mostly because it's not all great. Which brings me to my question. What is your sentiment about the toxin-release from fat tissue during weight loss thingy? Is it real? What the science says at the moment? Have you heard of any connections with joint pain / arthritic pain or nausea with weight loss induced toxin release? I'd love to hear your thoughts about this! She is a certified holistic health practitioner, food wellness advisor and good food advocate. In episode 23, Heather discusses: Food as medicine: Selling food-based supplements, super foods, and proteins, is the pharmacy of the future. Veganism, Paleo/Keto and her belief that people should eat in the way that’s right for them, but there’s no one way of eating for everyone. Vivica is a nutritionist, blogger, and a ketogenic cookbook author. Her fondness of the ketogenic diet stemmed from not just targeted learning experiences and seminars but also from how she used it to bounce back from a pre-diabetic state. She also realized the need for ketogenic research and practitioners, so she has since offered lifestyle programs centered around the ketogenic diet. Today, Vivica tells us how an average person can get started with a ketogenic diet, why she thinks a diet by macros aren’t ideal, and why she is strongly against dairy in any diet. " When you have serious, underlying health issues, your macros aren't going to fix it.” Vivica Menegaz In this episode, you’ll learn: There are many ways to “attack” a ketogenic diet. There are no one-size fits all approach. A ketogenic diet just means some macro nutrient ratios; it doesn't really tell you what you should be eating. Most ketogenic diet fans were motivated with weight loss. Vivica did it so she can bounce back from being a pre-diabetic. A standard ketogenic diet is high in dairy, Vivica promotes a Keto-Paleo approach because dairy products interfere with hormonal production. The basis of a keto-paleo diet is founded on high quality, nutrient dense food. It also has to be locally sourced and organic. Don't be obsessed with macros, focus on food quality. Auto-immune disease is common but it's not really a disease but a phase of disease. Every disease will go to an auto immune phase if left unchecked. A ketogenic diet is an ultra-low carb diet and it might not work for someone if they were to go with it for long-term. A good way to circumvent this is by doing a cyclical ketogenic diet. Key Takeaways: Ask yourself if any food is designed for humans. Milk in cartons are usually for cows or goats. You don't have to get the perfect diet right away but the quality of food you get is important. Detailed Show Notes Coming Soon! Dr. Mark Hyman's New Book: http://amzn.to/2Fxp7bd Food: What The Heck Should I Eat? This is the sauna I got and highly recommend! https://www.sunlighten.com/mpulse-infrared-saunas Diet Myths http://learntruehealth.com/diet-myths/ Diet myths deter most people from going in the right direction. Whether it be for weight loss or reversing illnesses, knowing what diet myths that aren’t true can ultimately guide us to eating right. Dr. Mark Hyman is a former mentor of mine who will help bust several diet myths in today’s episode. Growing Up Years Dr. Mark Hyman grew up in Spain, and he recalls his mother loved shopping at the market every day for fresh food. His mother also tended her garden at home and always stressed the need to buy fresh and eat fresh. As he grew older, Dr. Mark Hyman chanced upon a book written by Roger Williams called Nutrition Against Disease. That book influenced him to lead a healthy lifestyle until he became a yoga teacher apart from teaching health and becoming a vegetarian. “I’m 58 years old now. I look at my body 30 or 40 years ago when I first became a vegetarian. I was a scrawny thing with no muscle mass,” recalls Dr. Mark Hyman. “And I am now exercising far less. But changing my diet to more high fat, low starch diet, with adequate amounts of good quality protein. And I am far more muscular and fit than when I was 20 years old.” Food As Medicine Dr. Mark Hyman remembers that he got sick from mercury poisoning in China years ago. He discovered a whole new world in functional medicine because of his illness. Food was the primary medicine to cure his condition. Dr. Mark Hyman food is a drug because it acts faster and cheaper than most drugs. “There have been so many additives added to food over the last hundred years, almost 2,000 additives in our food. Very few have been tested adequately and were passed by the FDA as safe until we learn that they’re not,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. Dr. Mark Hyman, there’s so many examples of additives like transfat. It is a part of our diet that has never been proven to be safe. “There’s a lot of things in our food that we think is healthy. A lot of health food store products have thickeners that cause leaky gut, toxic plastic containers, and all kinds of food additives,” Dr. Mark Hyman revealed. “It can cause autism, neurodevelopmental issues, and psychiatric problems. Artificial sweeteners can also cause weight gain, diabetes and damage the gut microbiome.” Finding The Right Diet I currently practice a keto and paleo diet. This is because my Naturopath found our I had elevated cardiovascular markers and my blood work was not going in the right direction. It’s tricky finding the right diet that works. Dr. Mark Hyman says that lowering meat intake is a great starting point as well as portion control. Busting diet myths has been his expertise for the longest time. Institute For Integrative Nutrition Incidentally, when I was part of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s year-long health coach training program, Dr. Mark Hyman was one of my teachers. To those who want to become a health coach or merely increase your knowledge of health and nutrition, do sign up at IIN. Also, mention Learn True Health to avail of the special student rate. Sunlighten Sauna Like I have mentioned in a past episode, I have been losing weight and getting rid of the toxins in my body by using my Sunlighten sauna. Dr. Mark Hyman is also an owner of a sauna unit and attests to the health benefits of doing saunas every day. I highly recommend the sauna company since they also provide a fantastic financing payment option. They offer free shipping which is valued at $600, and they also offer $100 discount on sauna accessories. What The Heck Should We Eat Book Dr. Mark Hyman says we have to look more comprehensively at our diet. In his book, Dr. Mark Hyman writes about diet myths and what science shows. Mostly, his book does more than just busting diet myths. It is an eater’s guide to food in the 21st century. The book teaches you how to eat food and what brand is good for your health, planet, climate, economy, helping poverty and violence and providing educational disparity. Dr. Mark Hyman illustrates that food is at the center of all those situations. Statistics Don’t Lie Dr. Mark Hyman explains that a ketogenic diet contains 70 percent fat. It is extremely high fat and very low carb diet. The ketogenic diet reverses diabetes of over 60% of people suffering from the disease, 4% got out of medication and insulin. “My body composition changed when I changed to higher fat diet, and eating lots of protein, vegetables and lots of fat. My muscle mass increased even if I was not exercising as much,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. Effects On the Environment Dr. Mark Hyman says that one of the issues of the environmental movement is to eat less meat. But what meat are we eating? If it is grass-fed meat, Dr. Mark Hyman says it’s a whole different issue. Dr. Mark Hyman also mentions that there’s a book called Kiss the Ground by Josh Tickell. It’s an amazing story all about the soil. Because soil is the key to our health in so many ways. “The carbon from the environment gets sequestered or held in the soil. Soil erosion and other negative effects on the soil are happening because of how we grow food. Hence, properly grazing animals can help the soil regenerate,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. Importance Of Fiber Dr. Mark Hyman says fiber is important because it fertilizes the good bacteria in the gut. He also says that our microbiome is essential. “Because when we feed our microbiome junk food, they turn into junky bacteria. They also produce some nasty chemicals. When we feed them a lot of fiber, there’s a huge difference in the health of the microbiome,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. Studies have shown that Americans only eat an average of 8 to 15 grams of fiber a day. Typically, 50 grams is a right amount to target aside from drinking a lot of water. Dangers Of Sugar And Flour Dr. Mark Hyman reveals that half of Americans have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. Currently, 90% are not diagnosed, and 70% of Americans are overweight. “We are biologically designed to crave and love sugar because it helps us store fat for the winter. If we could eat anything that’s starchy, has carbs, sugar or honey, we will put on weight right away. And that’s a good thing from an evolutionary point of view,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. But he also adds,”Now in our era, we have 152 pounds of sugar and 133 pounds of flour which is worse than sugar. We are actually in a toxic situation. Because Flour has a higher glycemic index than sugar.” Busting More Diet Myths Dr. Mark Hyman says the standard advice of eating less and exercising more to lose weight is the biggest lie. He says it’s about the quality of the calories you eat, not the amount. “If you focus on what you’re eating and not how much, you will naturally do the right thing. So when you can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet, you have to make sure that you’re eating the right food,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. Dr. Mark Hyman also says that people who eat a high glycemic diet have a higher risk of dementia. So we should all be eating an extremely low glycemic diet. He explains that people who eat gluten do tiny microscopic damage to their gut which leads to inflammation. Ultimately, it breaks the linkages between our cells and our intestines will become loose, also known as leaky gut. “If you know how to work your biology, you can be fully satisfied, happy and energetic with your diet. You don’t have to deprive yourself. Use science rather than willpower to fix your biology,” said Dr. Mark Hyman. To know more about diet-related topics, I recommend listening to my past episodes with Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Jack Wolfson, and Dr. William Davis. Dr. Mark Hyman, MD, believes that we all deserve a life of vitality and that we have the potential to create it for ourselves. That’s why he is dedicated to tackling the causes of chronic disease by harnessing the power of Functional Medicine to transform healthcare. Dr. Mark Hyman and his team work every day to empower people, organizations, and communities to heal their bodies and minds, and improve our social and economic resilience.
