On November 25th, 1988, Junko Furuta was on her way home from work when Hiroshi Miyano abducted her and eventually brought her to his friend's house the next day. There, Hiroshi, along with Jō Ogura, Shinji Minato, and Yasushi Watanabe, raped and tortured Junko for 40 days, leading to her tragic death. It wasn't until March 29th, 1989, that the police found her burial site: a metal oil drum filled with concrete, with Junko's long black hair protruding through the cracks.RocketMoney - https://www.rocketmoney.com/LIGHTSOUT Follow & Subscribe To The Show!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3SfSNbkVrfz3ceXmNr0lZ4Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lights-out/id1505843600Social Links:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lightsoutcastTwitter: http://twitter.com/lightsoutcastInstagram: http://instagram.com/lightsoutcastSuggestions/Comments: lop@milehigher.comMerch: http://milehighermerch.com/Request A Topic Form: https://zfrmz.com/Sp6vsxGQrNoHUfDzvGnNPodcast sponsor inquiries: adops@audioboom.comHost: JoshTwitter: http://twitter.com/milehigherjoshInstagram: http://instagram.com/milehigherjoshCo-Host: IanInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ifarme/Editor/Producer: DanielInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/horrororeoSources: https://pastebin.com/wQCLYyfYCreator hosts a documentary series for educational purposes (EDSA). BB28 Sunday Medieval Ep Recap, Week 8 Also available on YouTube. Big Brother 28 delivers another unpredictable night as the house deals with complicated twists and mounting uncertainty. Rob Cesternino and Taran Armstrong team up with guests Aman Adwin and Lovina Pavel for a lively Sunday recap, reflecting on the fallout of split competitions, shifting alliances, and confused strategies. This episode covers a jam-packed schedule interrupted by a mid-episode cliffhanger that leaves both TV viewers and live feed watchers in the dark. Dee wins the first round of the competition and must decide between saving Angela or Devens. Strategic conversations swirl about who to protect and who to put at risk, with Barrett, Drew, Melody, Yash, Taylor, and Lala each playing critical roles. Haley finds herself locked into a punishing gauntlet of backyard competitions on a scorching 113-degree night, ultimately becoming the key focus for eviction, though she gets surprisingly little screen time or story. Alliance strategies get shaken as the house navigates new rules, the compressed format, and live feed chaos, while players like Yash make risky moves to protect their allies and control their fate. Rob questions Dee's choice to save Devens over Angela, and wonders why Rick Devens doesn't negotiate harder for his own safety. Taran explains the math and confusion behind the twist-heavy competition structure and points out how the chaotic edits mask shaky production. Aman praises Yash for volunteering for danger to keep Taylor and Lala safe, calling it a high-risk, high-reward play. Lovina highlights Melody and Drew's awkward social dynamics, and notices the lack of compelling Haley content as she exits. Power in the house is shifting as Drew's HoH reign is squeezed from all sides, and the fallout from Haley's eviction leaves new cracks in the remaining alliances. With risky moves, fractured trust, and unfinished business after the cliffhanger, can Drew solidify his spot or is he set up as a target heading into the next round? Tune in to hear the full breakdown of Big Brother 28's latest twists and the gameplay behind the chaos. 00:00 Big Brother 28 Recap Begins 06:40 The Twist Announced: Feeds Down 14:10 Haley's Eviction and BB28 Strategy 23:15 Vets' Plan and Competition Dynamics 30:45 Yash Volunteers, Changing BB28 Game 38:06 Audience Draft and Yash's Move 46:50 Drew's HOH Dilemma in BB28 56:05 Eviction Targets and Veto Plans 01:02:00 Drew's Position With the Vets 01:05:45 Big Brother 28 Comp Guest Hosts 01:10:41 Closing: BB28 Twist Continues Never miss a minute of RHAP's extensive Big Brother coverage! Hey Heal Squad! Today Maria is back with another What Worked This Week, and just like last week we are paying attention, but this time paying attention to the little things that can simplify our lives before they completely overhaul! You'll basically walk away thinking WHY have I not been doing this forever?! First up: the garage. After coming home to what she lovingly calls a “hoarder's paradise,” Maria finally tackled the clutter and created a system where everything has a home from Amazon returns to Athena's toys…but we also we get into why clearing out the physical clutter around you can feel like a nervous system reset…and maybe even inspire you to deal with some of the “clutter” you've been avoiding in other areas of your life. Then we're talking BEAUTY because Maria is sharing the photo of the facial technique that gave her a visible eye lift in literally SECONDS! Then we also have some ridiculously simple hacks you might immediately steal: the tiny organizer that finally keeps Maria's headphones from becoming a tangled disaster at the bottom of her purse (link is below!), why she is officially giving you permission to bring sneakers to the wedding and change out of those heels, and the SKIMS bra that finally made her say, “I deserve a new bra.” And stick around for Maria's bonus “what worked” because it turned into this unexpectedly beautiful reminder to slow down, get outside, put your feet on the ground, and appreciate where our food actually comes from. Nothing in this episode is going to completely overhaul your life, and that's kind of the point. Sometimes feeling better starts with the little things that make YOU better. Enjoy! Sure, the PGA Tour's "Super Bowl" was this weekend, but you knew this Monday episode could only start in one specific way. Andy and Brendan immediately kick things off with a Champions Tour Minute recapping the Ally Challenge, where Michael Block held the 36-hole lead but couldn't prevent Steven Alker from winning his second straight event. The two bring in PJ for a full debrief of an electric Sunday round featuring a vintage performance from Paul Azinger on commentary. Is Blockie the true savior of the Champions Tour? Will he qualify for the 2026 Schwab Cup Playoffs? How can we get Zinger back in our lives for golf's biggest events? All of these questions are asked and the three attempt to answer them before finally transitioning to the results of the 2026 Tour Championship. Scottie Scheffler claimed yet another FedExCup with a win at East Lake, putting to bed any arguments against him being the PGA Tour's Player of the Year for this season. Andy and Brendan break down Scottie's come-from-behind win on Sunday and discuss Viktor Hovland's inability to convert a 54-hole lead for the first time in his career. Andy expresses lament that we're stuck with the same old season-ending format for another year and Brendan was surprised at how sleepy Sunday ended up being, both on the ground and on TV. Ahead of Tuesday night's picks for the Presidents Cup, Andy and Brendan choose their six Americans to fill out the squad and debate whether Ryan Gerard will be at Medinah off a third place finish this week. A quick run-through of the remaining results from the week in golf finishes off this episode, with much more P-Cup discourse to come on Wednesday! What began as a personal testimony eventually helped prepare her for television production and, ultimately, producing a movie. At the heart of Julie's testimony is a simple principle: say yes to God.Julie discusses what it means to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit when you cannot see where the journey will take you. She describes how God used seemingly disconnected seasons of her life—writing, healing, television, and filmmaking—“line upon line, precept upon precept” to prepare her for what came next. TS and Julie also explore the importance of waiting on God, recognizing His voice, obeying even when His direction seems unusual, and understanding that the ultimate purpose of the believer's life is to glorify God.In this episode, discover:Why saying yes to God can lead to an extraordinary life of faith. How painful seasons can become part of God's healing process. Why waiting is often an essential part of obedience. How Julie's personal testimony became On Earth as It Is in Heaven. Why aspiring Christian authors should begin writing when they sense God calling them. How small beginnings can prepare believers for much larger assignments. Why increasing obedience strengthens faith and prepares us for greater responsibility. How our individual stories can ultimately point people back to Jesus Christ.Julie closes with a powerful encouragement: do not despise small beginnings. What God is doing today may be preparation for an assignment you cannot yet see. Be faithful, remain obedient, and allow Him to receive the glory through your story. Hosted by Robert Englund, the Horror Hall of Fame II was a syndicated television special from 1991 that celebrated all things horror, with the trappings of a fancy awards show. On this show, we're diving deep into that broadcast, with the original TV commercials and all! This was so awesomely cheesy, and a great tribute to the genre! In 1976, American toy designer Jim Swearingen was working at Kenner, a mid-sized company in the American Midwest. When a script for a new film called Star Wars landed on his desk, Jim was intrigued. Larger toy companies had already passed on the chance to make the figures."It was difficult from the point of view that it was a movie, could be in and out of theater in weeks, maybe months," he said. "It was science fiction, and toy buyers at that time had been turned off to science fiction because they still had a lot of Star Trek on the shelf. "And it was opening in May, which is completely counter to the toy business. We sold toys from September to December."Jim tells Rowan Bridge how he persuaded his boss to take a chance on Star Wars, what it was like seeing the film for the first time, and about the race to get the toys into the shops.Witness History is a short BBC World Service podcast about history that takes you inside big moments from the past through first-hand testimony and archive. Each weekday, in around nine minutes, we revisit one moment that helped shape the world and hear it through the voice of someone who was there. Scientists, artists, campaigners, soldiers, leaders and everyday people tell their true stories. When you subscribe to Witness History, you'll be taken inside turning points in world affairs from West Africa's fight back against Boko Haram in 2015 to the behind-closed-doors talks that led to the US-Cuba “thaw” and the surprise announcement of restored relations. You'll discover what it was like to experience disasters and how people recovered from them, including the Tabasco floods in Mexico, Portugal's worst train disaster, and the huge clean-up after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. You'll explore culture and ideas too: Sweden's Expedition Robinson, often credited as the first modern reality TV game show; the friendship between The Beatles' George Harrison and Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar; and the night a tiger attack brought Las Vegas superstars Siegfried and Roy's show to a sudden end. And if you're curious about inventions, we'll tell you how air fryers, BlackBerry, YouTube, Alexa, GPS, superglue, the shopping cart (shopping trolley) and bubble tea were created. If you're new to Witness History, the appeal is simple: real voices, one strong true story, and a fresh way to understand today through events from history – all in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of tea or a walk around the block. Join millions of BBC World Service podcast listeners around the globe and enjoy the insight, context and detail Witness History will bring you.(Photo: Children playing with Star Wars figures. Jason, Rachel, and Jesh continue their Star Wars journey with The Last Jedi, aka the movie that split the fandom in half like Snoke in a red throne room. In our spoiler-filled review, we dig into why Jesh saw the movie five times in theaters, why Jason still loves Rian Johnson's take, and why Rachel is having a harder time with Luke, Poe, Snoke, Rose, and one deeply upsetting green-milk moment. We also talk about the opening bombing run, Poe's Marvel-style comedy, the “bombs in space” nitpicks, Leia using the Force in space, Holdo not telling Poe the plan, Rose Tico, Canto Bight, Kylo Ren smashing his mask, Rey and Luke on Ahch-To, the sacred Jedi texts, and the jaw-dropping Snoke throne-room scene. Christi and Kelly recap not one, but two Dance Moms throwback specials, this time looking back at Mackenzie and Nia — two original team members who spent years proving they were MORE than the roles the show tried to force them into.Mackenzie was the baby of the team, the funny little sister, and the kid everyone remembers for wanting to stay home and eat chips. But behind all those adorable one-liners was a girl constantly being measured against Maddie. Christi and Kelly revisit the moments that made Mackenzie so lovable, while also talking about how hard it must have been to grow up on camera with your older sister treated as the standard you were always supposed to chase.Nia's story is different, but just as frustrating. From the beginning, Holly had to fight for her daughter to be seen, respected, and taken seriously. Christi and Kelly look back at the moments where Abby crossed the line, the dances that finally let Nia step into something bigger, and the season five music video that showed exactly why Holly stopped waiting for Abby to create opportunities.Grab your tickets to our LIVE TOUR!Connecticut (October 2): https://ridgefieldplayhouse.org/event/back-to-the-barre-ridgefield-ct-2026New York City (October 3): https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00006518C2C668A9Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments!
Renaissance English History Podcast: A Show About the Tudors
There is a written recipe for Henry VIII's perfume. It's in a 1608 book called A Closet for Ladies and Gentlewomen, and it's rosewater, sugar, musk, ambergris, and civet, boiled down softly for an entire day. I had no idea that existed until I sat down with Jen Siems of Immortal Perfumes, who has spent 14 years building fragrances out of archival research. Jen is a self-taught perfumer and a former English teacher, which means she talks about rare book rooms the way most people talk about their favorite TV show. She also has Elizabeth's recipe, which includes marjoram for headaches and a truly unreasonable amount of sugar. If you know anything about Elizabeth's teeth, that tracks. We get into: Where ambergris actually comes from, and why a kid walking on an English beach can stumble onto $50,000 worth of it Whether the Tudors really stank, and how much of that reputation we've made up Miasma theory, and why smelling magnificent was a health strategy and a PR strategy at the same time Catherine de' Medici, perfumed gloves, and how French perfume as we know it started with a Florentine bride Mary Queen of Scots' golden pomanders, and the violets-and-sparkling-wine legend that got misattributed to Anne Boleyn for years What Jude Law wore on the set of Firebrand to play a dying Henry, and why Alicia Vikander couldn't stand to be near him Fair warning, Jen explains how civet gets harvested and it involves a comparison to taking your dog to the vet. I was not ready. GIVEAWAY: Jen is giving away a vintage Avon Queen Elizabeth bottle (her torso lifts off, it's wonderful) filled with the Immortal Perfumes scent of the winner's choice. "There's so many brands for division in this country. Where's the brand for unity?"That question is why Us United exists. Adam Mizel spent more than 30 years in finance and entrepreneurship before his wife Tanya asked him the question that ended that chapter: What are you going to do?
Dolly Parton died on August 25, 2026, at age 80. While most tributes are focused on the music, this episode looks at something else entirely: Dolly Parton the businesswoman and entertainer. She sang at the Grand Ole Opry at 13 and was still building her empire seven decades later, which is rare in an industry where most acts have a five-to-ten-year run. As we like to say around here, success leaves clues, and Dolly left a lot of them. Below are 12 lessons pulled from her career, each one translated into something a podcaster can actually use.Take Advantage of Opportunities When They Show UpIn the late 1960s, a teenage Dolly landed a spot on the syndicated Porter Wagoner Show, earning $60,000 a year — by her own account, more money than she'd ever seen. She could have stayed comfortable as Porter's sidekick. Instead, she used the platform to build her name, and when she'd gotten what she needed from it, she left in 1974 to build something that was actually hers. Wagoner threatened to have her dropped from her label and later sued her; she ended up paying roughly $1 million to settle it, and the relationship took years to repair before the two eventually reconciled (American Songwriter, Cheat Sheet). Why it matters for your podcast: your show builds relationships, those relationships create opportunities, and taking advantage of those opportunities (a guest slot, a speaking gig, a collaboration) is what grows your audience — which creates more relationships. It's a loop, and it only works if you actually act when the opportunity shows up.Build a Podcast Brand People Instantly RecognizeYou knew Dolly when you saw her. Her wig, the rhinestones, the exaggerated glamour, her boobs, wasn't an accident. She said she based it on the town's "tramp."Dolly's response: I wanted to look like her. I thought she was beautiful. Her best line, "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap" says it all. When Barbara Walters pushed her on it in a 1970s interview, essentially implying she looked like a hillbilly, Dolly shot back that she might "kick her in the shin" and laughed the whole way through it.Why it matters for your podcast: a distinctive brand gets you noticed once. Celebrity, a striking name, a bold visual that earns the first click. What earns the return listener is the talent and substance behind it. Dolly had both, and so should your show.Own Your Audience — Don't Rent It to a PlatformDolly wrote "I Will Always Love You" in 1973 as a farewell to Porter Wagoner. When Elvis wanted to record it in 1974, his manager Colonel Tom Parker demanded the publishing rights as a condition for Elvis to record it. This was a standard (crappy) practice for an Elvis cut at the time.Dolly said no, even though it was Elvis. Nearly two decades later, Whitney Houston's version spent 14 weeks at No. 1 and sold an estimated 20 million copies. Because Dolly still owned 100% of the publishing, that single song brought her roughly $10 million in royalties in the 1990s alone, and an estimated $20 million total from the Houston version according to Forbes (American Songwriter). Why it matters for your podcast: As fellow podcaster Steve Stewart puts it, "Don't sell your audience to your sponsor, sell your sponsor on the value of your audience." The same logic applies to platforms: own your website, your domain, and your email list so no single network or app can take your audience away from you. It happens — YouTube pulled a top parenting podcast off the platform entirely (before reinstating it after public pressure). Dolly held onto her publishing because she knew the long game mattered more than a quick win. Hold onto your feed the same way. This is why an RSS feed is important. You can't be cancelled, and you can easily move to a new host if needed.Don't Take Yourself Too SeriouslyLong before a critic could land a joke, Dolly had already made it herself. On plastic surgery: "If I see something sagging, bagging, or dragging, I'm going to have it nipped, tucked, or sucked." Even the announcement of her passing carried her sense of humor forward, joking that she was finally ready to trade the rhinestones for something more comfortable. Why it matters for your podcast: self-deprecating humor makes an audience like you more. If you can laugh at yourself — a mistake, dated gear, a rough first episode — listeners relax and warm up to you faster. Have fun with your show. Otherwise, you'll burn out on it.Be Consistent — It Builds TrustDolly reportedly slept in her makeup in case she had to get up in the middle of the night for an emergency, because she never wanted to be seen without it. More importantly, she was always, unmistakably Dolly be it on stage or off, in an interview or in a duet, across 70 years of performing. People who met her said what you saw on stage is exactly what you got in person. Why it matters for your podcast: consistency isn't just about your publishing schedule (though that matters too) — it's about your output staying recognizably you. A listener who hasn't tuned in for six months should know exactly what they're getting the moment they hit play.Know Your WhyDollywood already existed under a couple of generic names before Dolly bought into it in 1986. She didn't just license her name and collect a check — she built it to bring jobs to her hometown region in Tennessee, rooting the business in something true about her instead of something generic and scalable. Today it generates an estimated $180–580 million a year, with her stake alone valued around $165 million. Why it matters for your podcast: plenty of celebrities slap their name on a generic product — a tequila brand, a theme park, a template — and it doesn't work because the "why" isn't real. If you're just copying someone else's show format and putting your name on it, it's probably not going to land. Know why you're actually doing this.Secondly if you put your name behind it, it better be a positive reflection of you (think about this when it comes to sponsors). If you say a product is great, and your audience buys it and it's not, they won't buy anything else from you as your integrity is shot.Experiment With New Formats Without Losing Your IdentityDolly moved from country into pop in the '70s (9 to 5 and more), then made the bluegrass albums she couldn't make earlier in her career because they were "too niche" — as she put it, "I had to get rich so I could come back and sound poor" (BrainyQuote). She went into TV, movies, and near the end of her life a Broadway musical. It was based on her own story, for which she wrote much of the score (so you could say she liked to stay busy). She initially tried to withdraw her name from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame consideration, saying she hadn't "earned that right," then was inducted anyway and leaned all the way in, dueting with Judas Priest's Rob Halford at the ceremony (Rolling Stone, Fox News). She later recorded "Please Please Please" with Sabrina Carpenter — a genre-crossing pairing where each artist's fans discovered the other (Rolling Stone). Why it matters for your podcast: every new genre, format, or collaboration was still unmistakably Dolly. That's the model — try new things, but stay recognizably yourself. And notice the audience-sharing angle: pairing with an artist (or podcaster) who has an adjacent audience introduces you to people who'd never have found you otherwise. That's exactly what cross-promotion with a show in your niche can do for you.Outsource What You're Not Good AtWhen Dolly wrote and starred in the 1986 TV movie A Smoky Mountain Christmas, she knew the script and the performance were her strengths — but directing wasn't, so she brought in Henry Winkler (yes, the Fonz) to direct (Yahoo News). Why it matters for your podcast: do the parts of your show you're genuinely good at and enjoy, and hand off the rest — editing, show notes, technical setup — to someone who does it better than you.Give Back to Build LoyaltyDespite her wealth, Dolly gave away enormous sums, saying she prayed for "enough to share and enough to spare." In 1995 she launched the Imagination Library in...

In this PWTorch Dailycast series titled "Worse or Better," Josh White and Stephanie Chase discuss one aspect of today's pro wrestling scene and compare it to a previous era or eras and decide if today is... worse or better. Steph and Josh discussed the end of the territory era as WWF signs up talent to begin their path of world (wrestling) domination. Josh and Steph relived some of the big and shocking moves during the Monday Night Wars, starting with WCW's big acquisitions that allowed them to take the lead before WWF fired back with their own signings. Discussion moved to the modern day to discuss a number of talents moving back and forth between WWE and AEW with varying levels of success. Josh and Steph considered the future of talent jumps before making a decision on whether or not the movement of wrestlers between companies is currently worse or better.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pwtorch-dailycast--3276210/support.

College football is officially back, and Week 0 gave us plenty to chew on before the season really gets rolling. We start with North Carolina getting some revenge on TCU in Ireland, then turn to Virginia's emphatic win over NC State and a huge opening performance from Beau Pribula. How much should we believe after one game, and which results actually changed the way we see these teams? From there, we work through USC's somewhat misleading final score against San Jose State, Florida State's uneven opener against New Mexico State and a late-night Memphis-UNLV game that may have made the Group of Six playoff race a little more interesting. We also discuss Stanford's dramatic finish against Hawaii and the very different FBS welcome parties for North Dakota State and Sacramento State. Plus, the return of college football meant the debut of some noticeable changes to the TV experience. We review ESPN's post-BottomLine world, the new on-screen indicator showing which announcer is speaking, a pronunciation controversy involving Beau Pribula and one moment of sweet Eastern Pennsylvania vindication. Happy Sunday! Welcome to Heal Squad's The Sunday Set Up. Life lessons to help you start the week. This week, we talk about whether healing always requires going back into every dark corner of our past. We talk about the difference between learning from our pain and living in it, and whether constantly revisiting old wounds can sometimes keep us there instead of helping us move forward. We talk about staying present, choosing gratitude, and recognizing that everyone may need a different path to healing. Sometimes looking back brings discovery and perspective. Other times, maybe the healthier choice is to turn toward the light and simply live. We also explore the idea that the difficult people and experiences in our lives may be our teachers, and that, in ways we don't always recognize, we may be teachers for others too. On Friday morning, twelve people in Plymouth, Massachusetts asked to see two things: a bag of prescription pill bottles and the knife Lindsay Clancy used on herself. That request is the entire factual content of the biggest news day in this trial since closing arguments, and within hours it had been publicly interpreted as a conviction, an acquittal, a hung jury, and a verdict coming Monday before lunch. This episode walks Friday minute by minute, then does the thing this show exists to do: separates what happened from what people needed it to mean. Also covered: the prosecution's rebuttal psychiatrist, Dr. Avram Mack, resigned from Nemours Children's Health on the same day he finished testifying, and Nemours will not say why. What that fact does and does not establish. The full evidentiary record the jury is working through, including why the central dispute is not whether Clancy was mentally ill. The five verdict options and what an insanity finding actually means in Massachusetts, which is not what the internet says it means. The sidewalk outside the courthouse, where pink t-shirts and handwritten signs reading "1st Degree MURDER" sat on benches thirty feet apart. And a Reality Check on why women are responding to this case the way they are, built on a fact most of the coverage has missed entirely: postpartum psychosis, the condition at the center of this five week trial, is not in the DSM.Recorded Sunday afternoon. The jury returns Monday at 9 a.m. Eastern. Nothing in this episode assumes a verdict.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics
Adam Rutherford is a science broadcaster, and author of A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived, which transformed the way we think about human history. By using genetics to uncover the story of our species, it offered a thrilling new perspective on who we are and where we came from. David Olusoga is an award winning author and historian, whose work includes the TV series and book Black & British: A Forgotten History and the landmark BBC arts series Civilizations. In July 2026 they came to the Intelligence Squared stage to mark the tenth anniversary of A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived. Together, they explored how advances in DNA research have transformed our understanding of human history, and discussed what a decade of new discoveries has revealed about our past. From Neanderthals to the plague, from redheads to race, from evolution to epigenetics, they discussed what our genes can tell us about human history and our ancestors. Together, they dispelled some common myths, challenging misconceptions about race and ancestry, and considered the profound consequences of the Human Genome Project. --- If you'd like to become a Member and get access to all our full conversations, plus all of our Members-only content, just visit intelligencesquared.com/membership to find out more. In this week's Interview Classic from ten years ago (9-1-2016), PWTorch editor Wade Keller talked live with ex-WWE Creative Writer Matt McCarthy regarding a variety of current events on Miz-Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, and more, plus some 2011-2012 Daniel Bryan backstage stories, and memories of Mr. Fuji. Then, a bonus interview conducted two days later (9-3-2016), PWTorch contributor Jim Valley hosted the “Saturday Morning Wrestling” Livecast with nostalgia topics and live calls, plus a live interview with Jeanie Clark, a/k/a Lady Blossom, who worked in multiple wrestling promotions on air including as a valet for Chris Adams and Steve Austin. She talked about her travels, her heartbreak, her addictions, and her recovery. It's a fascinating glimpse into the 1980s and early '90s territory days for a woman from England orienting herself to the pro wrestling industry and dealing with the ups and downs that came with that lifestyle.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wade-keller-pro-wrestling-podcast--3076978/support.

Today we jump back five years to the Aug. 28, 2021 episode of the PWTorch Dailycast's "Deep Dive." PWTorch's Rich Fann was joined by Emmy Award-Winner Mark Blutman again to talk about the previous weekend of wrestling – notably, the returns of CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Becky Lynch, and the potential opportunities each provides their companies, as well as a show runner's thoughts on how debutantes are shot/produced on screen. Rich also chatted with Mark about Mark's new project “Gripped,” a gripping Young Adult series that covers the opioid crisis in the United States, and Mark's efforts getting it adapted to television. Then, the Aug. 30, 2011 episode of the PWTorch Dailycast, the "All Elite Aftershow" with Mike McMahon and Andrew Soucek. The show began with Andrew's review of his AEW live experience from Milwaukee. Then the guys talk about C.M. Punk and take listener emails.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pwtorch-dailycast--3276210/support.
