We've been talking about the Paramount Skydance/Warner Brothers Discovery/Netflix Billionaire Boys Club Spectacular for a few days now. But it's really worth digging into the details to understand how all of this could reshape our media diets – and our politics. If Netflix buys Warner Bros. Discovery, that could be very bad news for Hollywood. But if Paramount buys Warner Bros. Discovery, the Trump-supporting Ellisons would own: CBS, CNN, HBO, Paramount, DC Studios, TNT Sports, Warner Bros., Oracle and a whole bunch more. It's basically a big, complicated mess — so to unpack what it means for consumers and why on earth President Trump is involved, we spoke to Ben Smith. He's co-founder and editor-in-chief of Semafor, and host of the Mixed Signals podcast. And in headlines, Trump brings his economic message to the American people on the first stop of his affordability tour, the Supreme Court hears arguments over campaign finance limits, and will Americans follow Australia's footsteps and ban social media for children?Show Notes:Check out Mixed Signals – https://tinyurl.com/ycxvkz6fCall Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Michael Wolff joins Joanna Coles to dissect a president increasingly disengaged, dozing through televised cabinet meetings while aides scramble to manage both optics and reality. They probe the murky Hegseth video controversy, Trump's self-awarded FIFA Peace Prize, and his meddling in Hollywood mergers, showing how delay, spectacle, and loyalty dominate decision-making. Wolff charts the frustration, chaos, and quiet panic inside Trumpworld. The two ask: What happens when no one can keep up with—or contain—Trump's mercurial whims? Hosted on Acast. In this episode, I share the deeper psychological lessons inside the new Diddy documentary, not to debate guilt or innocence, but to understand the human systems that create cycles of power, harm, silence, and attachment. This isn't a Hollywood story or an industry story. It's a human story. The documentary made Diddy feel more human rather than less, and that's what makes it so unsettling. When you look closely at the incentives, the grooming, the rewards, the fear, the validation, and the primal drives behind the behavior, you start to see a spectrum that exists in all of us — the universal instincts for status, belonging, intimacy, dominance, and connection. I also talk about Cassie, Kirk Burrowes, and the partners who stayed inside that ecosystem, not to blame but to understand the psychological gravity of coercive control. When we understand the forces acting on people — the love-bombing, the fear, the dependency, the identity fusion — we gain clarity on why people stay, why people participate, and why some people break free. This video is ultimately about human nature, accountability, restraint, and how to build relationships where love and power don't collapse into each other. EP: 379 Supernatural Miracles & Hollywood's Demons with Billy Hallowell

    Blurry Creatures

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 9, 2025 81:45

Billy Hallowell noticed something that should bother Christians: every October, Hollywood releases films about demons, possessions, and the supernatural—and audiences pack theaters. Meanwhile, many churches won't touch these topics with a ten-foot pole. The CBN journalist, TV host, and documentary filmmaker joins Blurry Creatures to explore this disconnect and share what he discovered while making "Investigating the Supernatural: Miracles." Billy walks through verified cases of miraculous healings, including a man who was dead for 40 minutes—pronounced dead, shocked 12 times, being prepped for the morgue—before a praying doctor saw him come back to life with a perfect heartbeat. These aren't secondhand stories; Billy investigated them with the rigor of a journalist, seeking medical records, eyewitness accounts, and expert analysis. He issues an open challenge to skeptics and cessationists alike: watch the documentary and then explain what happened, because he couldn't find any naturalistic explanation. The conversation goes deeper into why Billy believes the church's silence on the supernatural is a massive failure. He argues that secular materialism has seeped into Christian thinking, leaving believers with a "truncated view" of spiritual reality that leaves them unable to understand the world around them—from geopolitics to personal struggles. Billy shares his conviction that UFO and alien phenomena are demonic in origin, meant to redirect attention away from God, and he sees the current mainstream interest in these topics as a door Christians should be walking through. The episode also addresses the dangerous theology that blames sick people for lacking faith, what near-death experiencers consistently report about God's love, and why humility—not dramatic encounters—is the real catalyst Billy has observed in countless conversion stories. Plus, in true Blurry Creatures fashion, we explore whether Bigfoot could be demonic, a "rental car" for spiritual entities, or something else entirely. She invited me to the Warner Brothers lot, to her office, and generously gave me almost 3 hours of her time. It was a real turning point for me and the show. The world, and certainly Hollywood, has changed tremendously since then. Full disclosure: we recorded this mere days before the audacious news that Netflix won the bid to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery. Five years later, we're back. Barbara opens up about "pushing a very, very heavy boulder" aka the reality of making movies even as an established producer with billions in box office success. She gets raw about what she learned producing nine hours of IT: Welcome to Derry with child actors during the strikes. In light of the recent legal troubles surrounding Sean "Diddy" Combs, a growing number of celebrities are actively distancing themselves from him and his infamous parties. The fallout stems from a series of disturbing allegations, including sex trafficking and violent misconduct at Diddy's so-called "Freak Off" parties, where many high-profile individuals were once regular attendees.Celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Megan Fox have been notably swift in creating distance, with DiCaprio's camp emphasizing that he hasn't been involved with Diddy for years, despite old photos resurfacing from parties they both attended. Megan Fox, meanwhile, deleted posts featuring Diddy across her social media platforms. Others, like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber, who were previously seen at Diddy's high-profile gatherings, have remained silent but have quietly distanced themselves as well. Some stars, such as Damon Dash, have gone on record to clarify that they only attended one or two events many years ago, often framing their association as minimal.PR experts suggest that this silence is part of a calculated strategy, as discussing Diddy's legal issues publicly could lead to unwanted scrutiny. Celebrities are now avoiding the topic entirely, trying to remove themselves from the narrative to protect their personal and professional reputations as Diddy's legal battles continue to unfold.Meanwhile, the public outcry demanding answers from these people continues to grow.   to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:TOM LEONARD: Which A-Listers will be dragged into P Diddy's drugs and orgies scandal next?
