The battery infrastructure is currently growing 3x faster than the solar industry. Records are beaten daily: in August 2024, for the first time, Chinese battery factories passed the 100GWh production mark. We are seeing industry giants consolidate their leadership while hopes of alternative technologies or promising start ups are being squashed. The prices are collapsing monthly, partly due to cheaper inputs, technological improvements and larger volumes, not dissimilar to what happened in recent years to the solar industry. Is LFP the winning chemistry or is there still a future for NMC?Laurent and Gerard bring Dr Engelke, Chair of Battery Associates, to try to make sense of it all. This young German company has been developing a world class expertise and how uses it to train the future work force is how to build a Gigafactory and how to optimize it. With clients like Tesla, VW and CATL, Battery Associates is in the thick of it. GenZ is defying all politicians by creating a transnational spirit of collaboration between Continents to promote a faster and more efficient future.Because in the end, it is all about Human Capital. China has benefited from our technology for decades, let's not be shy and emulate their playbook. It will be more efficient in the long term than lobbying regulators, whine and ask for tariffs and subsidies. Despite the roller coaster, never forget that in a fast-growing market, short term demand is generally overstated, while long term demand is generally understated. -----We don't often recommend other podcasts/YouTube (I know we should). To, když americký výrobce čipů Onsemi ohlásil, že do rozšíření svého závodu v Rožnově pod Radhoštěm vloží více než 43 miliard korun.

“Summer has come and passed / The innocent can never last / Wake me up when September ends”. Like John Wick, Laurent thinks he is back.So we have a very energetic Minutes to start September. With Gerard, the co-hosts focus on one of the key trend of 2024 which they call “Batteries, the Great Consolidation”. A lot of great experts are helping shape our view.To name a few Aaron Wade, Tom Tsogt, Cormac O'Laoire, Christopher Chico, Chris Berry, Benchmark Minerals Intelligence/Rho Motion (Iola Hughe and all Simon Moores' team). We are thankful for their relentless drive to show us the future. So, what is the “Great Consolidation” in Batteries. First consolidation in the OEM landscape, with CATL and BYD trashing the competition and indirectly eliminating a lot of promising startups (We list the cancelled Gigafactories). Then, consolidation in Chemistry, it's all about LFP now. Finally consolidation in form factor, with prismatic becoming the staple. At the end of the episode, we salute the King of Solar in Pakistan, Sulaiman ur Rehman. And also invite on our podcast Mr Faraz Ahmad, one of the Top Energy guy at Amazon, as we are very curious about his attempts to rewrite the rules for accounting for Carbon Emissions. We want to know more. Faraz, you are welcome! Transcripthttps://www.spreaker.com/podcast/redefining-energy--3170008

Sex and the economy: miliardi a luci rosse (podcast del Sole24Ore)Il mercato dei sex toys vale 10 miliardi solo negli Stati Uniti. In totale ne usciranno sei. Su quest'ultimo aspetto in particolare sarà l Unione europea a dire l'ultima parola.

Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) is one of the market's most unique battleground stocks. People either love it or they hate it, the financial media's commentary is either euphoric or miserable, and institutional price targets have ranged everywhere from $10 to $2,000. For the past two weeks, 7investing CEO Simon Erickson has been building a very detailed discounted cash flow for Tesla. He's put all emotions (and social interaction) aside and has let the numbers do the talking -- to develop his most-likely estimate of Tesla's future revenues, operating costs, and capital expenses through the year 2040. Furthermore, a large part of the Tesla equation lies in the optionality offered by its visionary (and yet eccentric) CEO Elon Musk. Musk has several options of where he could lead Tesla into its future, including full self-driving software subscriptions, autonomous commercial trucks, an on-demand Robotaxi network, or a thousand other AI-based projects. Yet even with so many potential destinations, the Tesla we know today is still primarily a car company. 92% of its revenue currently comes from selling, leasing, and servicing battery-powered electric vehicles. IN THIS PART 1 OF 2, Simon describes how he came up with an estimate of $104 per share for Tesla as a car company. The company is aggressively building Gigafactories and ramping up the production of new models, but is also constrained on pricing and by rising competition in China. The 7th annual foreign investment summit known as "Choose France" kicks off at Versailles with €15 billion in new projects expected. Also in this edition, China prepares a $140 billion debt float to fund economic stimulus. Plus, hundreds of environmental activists storm Tesla's Gigafactory in Germany.
In this episode of Discover Daily, we explore a range of fascinating topics from around the world. We begin by discussing the recent G4 geomagnetic storm that impacted Earth, causing disturbances in the planet's magnetic field and potentially affecting power grids and communication systems. The episode then shifts focus to a protest at Tesla's Gigafactory in Germany, where activists clashed with police over concerns about the environmental impact of the company's expansion plans and the broader implications of lithium mining for electric vehicle batteries.Next, we explore the world of online dating, examining Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd's vision for an AI-powered "dating concierge" that could handle initial interactions between potential partners. While this concept has generated interest, it has also raised questions about the role of AI in human relationships and the ethical considerations surrounding such technology. The episode then celebrates a groundbreaking gene therapy trial that successfully restored hearing to a young British girl, marking the first time this approach has been used to treat auditory neuropathy and offering hope for those with similar genetic hearing conditions. Finally, we explore the complex history of dog domestication, discussing theories of self-domestication and directed domestication, as well as recent genetic evidence suggesting multiple domestication events in Europe and Asia. The episode highlights the interplay of ecological, genetic, and social factors that have shaped the evolution of dogs from their wolf ancestors and the ongoing debates in the scientific community about the exact timeline and processes involved in this remarkable journey. From Perplexity's Discover feed:Severe geomagnetic storm hits Earthhttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Severe-geomagnetic-storm-NcL7m.JiR7qWAsDtmcbDcgProtestors storm Tesla Gigafactoryhttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Protestors-storm-Tesla-sec7yAlFTlS0MFUsoADbTQBumble's AI dating conciergehttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Bumbles-AI-dating-HpWEQH6uSG2ZYl8i.0hMGwGene therapy trial restores hearinghttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Gene-therapy-trial-aKuZbEGbQfurdauGCK5VZARethinking dog evolutionhttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Rethinking-dog-evolution-iymMWxN6Tdu_1Er7bDOn5QPerplexity is the fastest and most powerful way to search the web.
