And just like his turn in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, he proves he's got the chops to be both comedic and badass. Sadly, audiences never gave this one a chance. On a budget of $75 million, it grossed just north of $110 million. That wasn't nearly enough to warrant the sequel they teased. In the film, Superman must prove to the world that he is their protector after billionaire Lex Luthor enacts a plan to turn public opinion against him.Development on a sequel to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film Man of Steel (2013) began by October 2014, with Henry Cavill set to reprise his role as Superman. W/C 7th July 2025There is quite a bit of excitement in the house about the new Superman movie. Jack has been looking forward to it for quite a while, and I must admit I have been a little drawn in by all the noise around it, and the fact it is dividing opinion so much.Clearly I am from the Christopher Reeve era when it comes to Superman.
