I found this post that really made a connection with me as this is really for everyone. I shared it out there on Twitter / X and I mentioned that this “shoe fits for everyone” as we are all Champions!! It comes from Greg Berge (@gb1121) and the quote is:  "If you really want to be a game changer out there, be a master observer." - Peyton Manning   He goes on to connect that “Champions don't just play the game; they study it. Observation creates anticipation. Anticipation creates advantage.”  No matter what we do in life and who we are doing it with - we want to become Champions. This one got me fired up for the bigger picture it represents for all of us.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.

Navigating Family Dynamics: Real Estate, Relationships, and Parental ResponsibilitiesKey Takeaways:Understanding the balance between parental support and children's independence is essential in a familial context.Family obligations and additional financial support do not always secure an everlasting familial bond.Aligning core family values across generations plays a crucial role in long-term relational success. In this thought-provoking exploration of family dynamics, we delve into a real-life scenario that aligns the responsibilities parents have towards their adult children with navigating complex family relationships. Through a detailed transcript analysis, we unveil insights on real estate ownership complexities, the intricacies of family commitments, and the essence of maintaining core family values across generations.Parental Support vs. Child Independence: The Real Estate DilemmaThe transcript begins its narrative with an intriguing discussion around the notion of home ownership and how this can significantly impact relationships. In this scenario, parents buy a house for their son, symbolically granting him independence while still keeping the financial responsibilities to themselves. This idea taps into a broader conversation about the balance between parental investment in their child's future and fostering a sense of self-reliance.Mike, one of the key speakers, expresses the sentiment that parents do not owe their children "a place to live after they move out," emphasizing that the independence afforded is a privilege, not a right:"We owe you nothing. When you move out, you owe a place to live until they became an adult."This financial entanglement becomes even more complicated when the son's future in-laws mistakenly believe the property to be in his name. Such confusion over property ownership can lead to misunderstandings that strain familial bonds. The situation suggests that transparent, open discussions about financial arrangements and ownership are crucial for avoiding discord. The Strain of Exclusion: Unraveling Family CommitmentsThis particular discussion also walks the fine line of commitment to family versus external influences. The parents are uninvited from their son's wedding due to the fiancée's family's perception that they are "not their kind of people." This revelation strains the familial relationship and culminates in the decision to ask the son and his fiancée to vacate the house:"He tells me that her family feel like we are not good enough and will embarrass them at a family wedding and that we were all uninvited from the wedding."In the context of this familial drama, excluding family from pivotal moments like weddings can act as a powerful reminder of where loyalties lie. The transcript questions the core responsibilities between parents and children, suggesting that fundamental family commitments should not be easily overridden by external parties.Core Family Values Across Generations: Building a United FrontFinally, the transcript highlights the role of core family values in ensuring relational stability across generations. Mike and Torya reflect on the importance of standing up for one's principles and teaching children about commitment and accountability, especially in the face of challenging circumstances.Mike illustrates the lesson of commitment through a personal anecdote about his son's baseball team, emphasizing how breaking a commitment sets a poor precedent:"I told him, he made a commitment. And that's what I told him. He made a commitment to this team. It's not fair now to back out with four games left and leave them shorthanded."This narrative not only reinforces family values but also demonstrates the importance of parental guidance in fostering accountability and the need to align familial beliefs across generations. The values instilled by parents play a critical role in shaping the actions and decisions of the next generation, ultimately serving as the foundation for familial unity. The intricate weave of these themes serves as a fascinating look into the dynamics of parent-child relationships, real estate implications, and the long-term impact of family values. The transcript invites readers to ponder the delicate balance between support and independence, the consequences of estrangement, and the necessity for clear communication within the family unit. By reflecting on these stories, families can gain valuable insights into maintaining harmony and understanding in their own relationships.TimestampSummary0:00Hockey Anticipation and Am I the Asshole Segment1:41Family Drama Over Wedding Invitation and House Ownership7:25Parental Support and Expectations for College Living Arrangements9:05Family Dynamics and Expectations in Housing and Relationships16:12Teaching Kids Commitment Through Sports and Life Lessons

Saw this post that helped me to wake up - along with my coffee - to remind me that I need to focus in on how I want my day to go!!  It's from Kevin DeShazo (@KevinDeShazo) shares this gem:  “Your future self will either bear the burden of your inconsistency today, or reap the rewards of your commitment today. You get to choose. Show up on purpose.”  This hit me this morning (morning of this recording) and it really changed my perspective of the day for me. I was also listening to “The Daily Coach” podcast - latest episode HERE, where it was shared about the “rule of thirds” which is coming from an Olympic coach and it basically says that during your days of working towards something, you will have a roughly each a third of good days, average days and crappy days. All three of them are to remind you that you are going for something great and to not let whatever day you are having get in the way of success.  Especially the crappy days - they are telling you the great thing you are going for, is not supposed to be easy - but it's worth it! I needed that reminder as well this morning. It's my choice as to how I will show up! (and I will show up!!)   Thanks for listening.

Found a very true statement from one of the best at putting out difference-making posts. Mindful Maven (@mindfulmaven_) shared this one that I found plenty of examples of the second part of the quote (sorry to say): “You'll never be criticized by someone who is doing more than you. You'll always be criticized by someone doing less. Remember that.” ~ Denzel Washington.  Those that know how things are done correctly - with class, character, hard work, etc., will usually always encourage rather than criticize. Those that have no character and have a title, have a lot of money, have status, and all that, and they maybe gained it by lying, cheating, stealing, etc., they usually are the ones that criticize (and even make fun of, put others down, etc. I think all of us need to go back to looking to do things in our lives to tilt the playing field back to kindness, encouragement, compassion, etc.  Go back to podcast episode #1648 - the Ripple Effect!!

I saw this post and of course I've seen it before, but this time it's voice was a little louder when I came across it. This came from Gratitude HQ (@gratefuledu64) -  “The ‘ripple effect' means that #KindnessMatters ! A single act of kindness, like offering help to someone, can inspire that person to be kind to others, creating a chain of positive interactions. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!”  This thought that all of us can tap into goes along with this post - “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” ~ Mother Teresa.  In a world where action is needed to help others and make a difference with all of the injustices going on around us, we all can “cast a stone” of kindness, empathy, love, speaking up, reaching out to others to share thoughts and ideas, along with making sure we keep investing in ourselves to be our best selves. Just like the previous podcast - if we keep “our lamps lit”, it helps our journey and also the journeys of those around us. Making a difference for ourselves and others, should be something we all strive for.
