There's a reason the enemy targets families—because family is where faith is formed, identity is shaped, and legacy is born. If the enemy can disrupt your home, he'll do everything he can to distract, divide, and destroy. But you, my friend, have a spiritual post to stand on. You are the watchman on the wall. Our springboard for today's discussion is:“Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” — Nehemiah 4:14 (ESV)Nehemiah was building a physical wall—but make no mistake, the spiritual principle applies. The call is clear: fight for your family. This isn't about being aggressive in the flesh—it's about being intentional in the Spirit. Guarding your family means praying over your children's hearts. It means rebuking fear, anxiety, and confusion at the front door before it seeps into your living room. It means leading your household with Scripture, with worship, and with wisdom.Satan loves a distracted leader. A passive protector. A silent spiritual authority. But you weren't placed in your home to watch it unravel—you were placed to war for it.Guarding your family spiritually means setting the tone in your home. What gets your attention gets access. So, what music plays? What voices are shaping your kids? What attitudes are being tolerated in the atmosphere? You don't have to live in fear—but you do have to live on alert. Pray over your spouse. Anoint your kids' pillows. Speak life out loud in the kitchen. Create an environment where the enemy feels unwelcome and heaven feels close.Your prayers may be silent, but they're shaking things in the spirit realm.Question of the Day:Where have you let your spiritual guard down in your home—and how can you reclaim that ground today?Mini Call to Action:Walk through your home today, room by room. Pray over it aloud. Declare peace, purity, and protection in every space.Let's Pray:Father, make me a spiritual warrior for my family. Open my eyes to attacks I've missed. Teach me to cover my home in prayer, love, and truth. Let our household be a fortress of Your presence. In Jesus' name, amen.Let's Get To Work!Your family isn't just your blessing—it's your battlefield. And you've been called to guard it.My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the John Deere Classic. -Reviewing Detroit -Discussing top 8 favs on odds board -2 matchups -2 t20's -3 outrights (33/1, 80/1, 80/1) -Sleeper, 3 FRP -2 lineups, scoring, best bet Will Doctor opens his podcast with enthusiasm over Aldrich Potgieter's dramatic win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. At just 20 years old, Potgieter emerged victorious in a five-hole playoff against Max Gray Sherman and Chris Kirk. Doctor notes he had picked Potgieter pre-tournament at 125-1 odds, resulting in a monumental gain of 125.8 units that flipped his season from -72.9 to +52.8 units. Potgieter's rounds of 62-70-65-69 highlighted both brilliance and resilience, especially his Saturday bogey-free 65 that earned him a two-shot lead. Despite criticism that most birdies came on the front nine, Doctor praises his short game, particularly ranking fifth in strokes gained around the greens in round three and gaining over a stroke total in that category. Chris Kirk, a six-time PGA Tour winner, had a promising start with back-to-back 65s. Despite dealing with recent game struggles and nearly withdrawing from the U.S. Open, he performed well and missed chances to win with two putts inside 16 feet on 18, in both regulation and the playoff. Max Gray Sherman impressed with birdies on two of his final three holes to make the playoff, including a 35-foot birdie on 16. Though he missed several putts in the playoff, Sherman's calm demeanor and improved ball striking stood out, crediting his caddy Adam Barmer. Doctor sees Sherman as a strong future contender. Doctor critiques Twitter pundits who downplayed Potgieter's Saturday round and emphasizes the significance of the playoff diversity: a 20-year-old, 30-year-old, and 40-year-old competing. He applauds CBS's emotional broadcast moments, such as shots of the players' fathers during the finale. Other notable performances included Will Gordon saving his PGA Tour card, Monday qualifier Brett White making the cut, and rising stars like Michael Thorbjornsen and Jackson Suber getting in the mix. He recaps bets: Potgieter's win was the headline; Champ and Sherman top-20 picks also cashed. Picks that failed included Stephen Jaeger, who struggled with his worst driving week in 25 starts, and Lee Hodges, who fell from contention with a poor third round. As he pivots to the John Deere Classic, Doctor emphasizes traits needed at TPC Deer Run—bombers off the tee, sharp wedge play inside 125 yards, and strong putting on bentgrass. He notes the course has the ninth-widest fairways on Tour, making driving accuracy less critical but not to be ignored. He analyzes top players: passes on Ben Griffin due to fatigue, but likes Jason Day for a top-10 finish citing strong approach stats from 125-150 yards. He dismisses Denny McCarthy at 28-1 due to recurring poor third rounds, weak approach metrics, and no PGA wins. JT Poston is faded for weak iron stats despite being a past Deere champion. Si Woo Kim is heavily criticized—missed cuts, poor putting, and negative recent stats. Doctor proposes betting Jason Day over Si Woo Kim and two other Kim fade matchups. Doctor's top pick is Michael Thorbjornsen at 33-1, citing elite driving (2nd on tour), strong recent finishes, and solid putting. Thriston Lawrence is his second outright at 80-1, noting improved ball striking and three top finishes in recent events, including T12 at Oakmont. Cam Champ, also at 80-1, rounds out the outrights. Champ has been positive in all stat categories the last two weeks and historically played well at Deer Run. Other bets include Jackson Koivun over Quade Cummins, Jason Day top 10 (+225), Champ top 20 (+320), and Thorbjornsen top 20 (+137) as the best bet. Doctor offers three first-round top-10 picks: Thorbjornsen, Pearson Cootie, and Champ. He concludes with two DFS lineups and predicts the winning score at -23. It's a throwback audio episode with Brendan using his Airpods after finding himself in a travel delay. Nevertheless, Andy is on cloud nine over on Westy Island after Lee Westwood qualified for this month's Open Championship at Royal Portrush. The two reminisce about Westy's t-4 performance and stand-up morals at the 2019 Open before running through the rest of the 2025 qualifiers from overseas. They are particularly chuffed by Richard Teder, a 20-year-old from Estonia who holed out for eagle in a playoff to secure his spot at Portrush. Andy wonders if Dick Teder is the first player in a new generation of golfers - the Rory (Sabbatini) generation. LIV's 2026 schedule was leaked and the league won't make a stop in the United States until mid-May. Brendan and Andy run through the dates and the travel plans needed to play at majors throughout the world, such as going from Spain to Shinnecock Hills for the U.S. Open. From there, it's time for some lock-hammer-fire picks for the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run. The "Champion House" is back and is sure to be catnip for the entirety of the week. It's the strongest field in tournament history and there's no better example of that than Rickie Fowler returning to the Quad Cities for the first time since 2010. Andy shares a little 2010 time capsule to contextualize how long its been since Rickie played the Deere and gets Brendan to sing along to some Ke$ha on a Tuesday afternoon. In news, Adam Schupak reported that numerous PGA Tour legends are unhappy that they've been cut out of the new equity program coming as part of the PGA Tour Enterprises company. 36 former players will receive money based on a "career points" system that prioritized PGA Tour wins and starts, leaving European stars like Tony Jacklin and Nick Faldo on the outside looking in. They are, predictably, unhappy and voiced their displeasure to Golfweek, leading to a lengthy discussion from Andy and Brendan. Open to Debate, in partnership with the Human Rights Foundation and the Oslo Freedom Forum, is examining a strategy employed by many countries to respond to aggressive or authoritarian regimes. In recent years, these have been levied against countries such as Russia, Venezuela, and Iran, which have ranged from freezing assets and trade bans to travel restrictions and full embargoes. But do sanctions work in deterring repression? Those arguing that they're effective claim that they're a nonviolent way to force change and serve as a deterrent for other countries. Those who are skeptical about the efficacy of sanctions say they are leaky, don't lead to regime change, and can harm civilians and exacerbate humanitarian crises.     Now with this background, we debate the question: Are Sanctions an Effective Policy Tool?    This debate was produced in partnership with the Human Rights Foundation and was recorded at the Oslo Freedom Forum in Oslo, Norway, on May 26, 2025.  Learn more about your ad choices. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Host Hunter guides us through a powerful journey in scripture as we read Amos 7–9, Psalm 104, and Titus 2. Together, we reflect on the visions and warnings delivered through the prophet Amos, the majesty and care of God captured in the psalms, and Paul's wise instructions to Titus for living a life that reflects God's grace. Hunter shares a heartfelt meditation on the true famine in our lives—a hunger not for food, but for the Word of God—and invites us to come daily to the table to be nourished by the Living Word, Jesus. We close with prayers for peace, unity, and God's restorative presence in our world and our lives. Whether you're new or returning, join us as we feast on scripture, prayer, and encouragement—reminded once again that you are deeply loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: There's a famine in the land, but it's not for food. The people may have all the food they need, but they're starving for something far more essential to life: the Word of God. People fill their lives with every imaginable thing, feasting on distractions and pleasures that, in the end, leave them empty and hungry. If we make this life about satisfying our earthly appetites, we end up famished, unsatisfied at the very core. Jesus put it this way: People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Christ is that bread of life. Our souls will never truly be satisfied until they are satisfied in him, the Living Word. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. The prophet Isaiah asks, “Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food.” God is calling us—listen and eat what is good. Enjoy the finest of food. Stop starving your soul. He has graciously placed a feast before us, a meal we have done nothing to earn and nothing to pay. He simply asks that we come, that we eat. Are you restless? Tired? Hungry? Famished? There's no need to go hungry today. The Living Word is here for you. His Word is gracious toward you. It is the Bread of Life, and it's free of charge. It is Him—his presence, his peace, grace, forgiveness, mercy, and love. At his table, every hunger is satisfied, every thirst is quenched. Come daily to the table and feast on his goodness. Draw strength, draw joy, draw all that you need from him. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family—for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord of heaven and earth, you have awakened us in your mercy once more. Still our anxious minds, quiet our striving hearts and help us to rest in the knowledge that we are held by you. May we walk in step with your spirit today—not ahead, not behind, but beside you in trust and love through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. O God of all peoples, you formed every soul in your image and breathed life into every heart. Open the eyes of the nations, soften hearts grown cold, and teach us to live as neighbors and friends. Let your spirit move in power, renew the face of the earth and usher in your reign of peace. Amen. And now, Lord, let me be a bearer of your peace. Where voices divide, let me speak grace. Where fear takes root, let me plant trust. Where the world rushes on, let me walk with you. May I seek not to climb, but to kneel; not to win, but to love; not to grasp, but to give. For it is in emptying that we are filled, in surrender that we are strengthened, and in union with you that we find our truest joy. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Hope for Right Now: A Walking with Purpose Podcast

Join Lisa and Laura as we kick off a brand new series, Unshakable Identity. Over the next four weeks we will be looking at four different aspects of our identity as women and the corresponding characteristics of our feminine genius. As daughter, it's sensitivity. As sister, it's generosity. As bride, it's receptivity. As mother, it's maternity. Our goal is that as we explore each of these, we will gain a better understanding of our true identity. Today, Lisa and Laura dive into what it means to be a daughter, and explore all the things that get in the way of embracing the truth of who we are. Listen in and learn about false identities, distorted images of God, and the seemingly simple question that so many of us struggle to get right: Who am I? Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Mark 1:11: You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Galatians 3:26: For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. Romans 5:8: But God shows His love for us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Reflect on: Who am I? Meditate on Mark 1:11 and imagine the voice of the Father declaring over your life that you are His beloved child. Can you embrace this truth? Are you able to rest in your true, God-given identity? Or is this hard to believe? If it's hard, you are most likely finding your identity from a voice other than God's. If you cannot identify your false identity, ask God for the eyes to see it. Show mentions. Learn about Walking with Purpose. August 21, 1:30 PM & 8:30 PM ET. What skills and wisdom from my past can we bring into situations unfolding right in front of us?Which human & non-human connections are we asked to update & fortify? Which ones are we asked to sever or put aside for now?July 2025 is a juicy month astrologically. With Uranus finally moving into Gemini, we are, for the first time, experiencing the highly anticipated new cosmic backdrop in the flesh – all three outer planets in fire or air signs, the Nodes squarely in Pisces-Virgo axis, Saturn in Aries, and Jupiter in Cancer. As with any new beginnings, July brings invitations for the past to come and dance with us.Some questions to contemplate: What past skills and wisdom can I bring to the situations unfolding right in front of me?In which areas of life am I invited to update or upgrade the skills I've learned to better meet the challenges of my current life?Which human & non-human connections am I asked to update & fortify? If your to-do list is never done. If your heart is full of love but your nervous system is fried, …then this episode is for you. In today's conversation, we're going straight to the source of power most people ignore: Coming home to your breath. And not just any breathing — I'm talking about the kind of intentional, Spirit-connected breath that recenters you in moments when you want to lose it. Like when your teenager slams the cupboard. Or your body aches from trying so hard to hold it all together. Or the world feels too loud for your sensitive heart. You'll learn: The neuroscience behind why just a few breaths can reset your brain What the Buddha, Jesus, and Tara Brach all teach about sitting with pain Why radical acceptance makes you more emotionally resilient — not weaker A simple 4-7-8 breath practice you can return to when you feel stuck, scattered, or soul-weary And yes — I share a very real story from my own kitchen about a moment I almost missed that turned into a sweet connection with my young adult son.
