Andy and Brendan! once again went LIVE on YouTube for one of the best days of the year: the annual golf Halloween costumes episode. Before diving into some ideas celebrating the best in golf for 2025, the two quickly run through the Schedule for the Week containing just two events for the final week in October. They then move to some recent news, highlighting Kai Trump's LPGA sponsor exemption into The Annika in November. Andy and Brendan call out the continued use of sponsor exemptions on all tours and note that this could not be a an actual competitive exemption. Elsewhere on the LPGA, the Grant Thornton Invitational teams are out, pairing FSU studs Lottie Woad and Luke Clanton, Canadians Brooke Henderson and Corey Conners, and more. For the last bit of news, it was announced that the Old Course will be adding new tees in an effort to make the course longer for the 155th Open. This opens the floodgates for a discussion about the distance problem in golf with Brendan calling this a "five-alarm fire" that should not be celebrated by media and fans alike. PJ is tapped to explain the 2026 Champions Tour schedule that may - or may not - have Tiger Woods in its plans before Andy forces him to rank his top five Halloween candies. The three then present their golf-adjacent Halloween costume ideas, covering subjects like Lucas "King of Takes" Glover, Happy Gilmore*, the Crentist, Keegan Bradley's suitcase, and much, much more. Listener submissions will be read and judged on Friday's episode for a gift card to the Fried Egg Golf Pro Shop.

The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo
In the twilight hush of a Burbank podcast studio, Trixie finds herself opposite the immortal Elvira, Mistress of the Dark: the legendary Cassandra Peterson! Upon the mist of their delightfully macabre conversation lays her infernal grimoire, "Elvira's Cookbook from Hell", its pages reeking of brimstone and buttercream, whispering festive recipes that seem to writhe with unholy hunger. Through grins both wicked and weary, they discuss such varied topics as Joan Rivers' languid bemusements regarding her ample bosom and their shared remembrance of Provincetown's un-air-conditioned Post Office, where even the Devil himself would have perspired through eternity on it's steamy stage. Ever notice how overriding your God-nudges feels gritty—foggy mind, tight chest, simmering resentment—while obeying (even when it's hard) brings a strange, surprising ease? This episode names self-betrayal—those moments we say yes when we mean no, delay what the Spirit asked us to do, or trade conviction for approval—and shows why obedience heals.
What if your hardest conversations ended in connection instead of collateral damage? In this episode we practice Curiosity Before Accusation—a simple, Spirit-led way to de-escalate, honor truth, and protect the relationship.
Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com Matthew 17:27 Payment of the Temple Tax 24 On their arrival in Capernaum, the collectors of the Temple tax came to Peter and asked him, “Doesn't your teacher pay the Temple tax?” 25 “Yes, he does,” Peter replied. Then he went into the house. But before he had a chance to speak, Jesus asked him, “What do you think, Peter? Do kings tax their own people or the people they have conquered?” 26 “They tax the people they have conquered,” Peter replied. “Well, then,” Jesus said, “the citizens are free! 27 However, we don't want to offend them, so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us.” Couldn't pay my taxes my first year at my Fathers church… walked in to his office - what am I going to do? I owe $4000. The phone rang… are you still wanting to sell your boat? I will give you 4k for it. Tax collectors are trying to catch Jesus… How much money did you give for the new sign??? I thought you loved your church and God???? JESUS HAD THE - Freedom to not pay taxes… but wisdom to pay taxes. Freedom without wisdom is a stumbling block to others. Any virtue in and of itself is an evil. Aristotle On this occasion Jesus chooses to not offend… but later he will flip tables in the temple. There is an intimacy that one requires in order to know which one you choose? LESSON: I no longer question someones motives or actions if I know they are intimate with God. Graceful compromise… Early on in our Marriage going to her relatives dinner… THE RIDE HOME. Why did you not say anything??? Invited to your spouses family dinner. They are all raving lunatics that hate religion, faith, Trump, puppies and chocolate… You don't need to go, but you gracefully compromise so that you might have a chance to love on them… and not give them a reason to be offended. You are dining out and trying your best to share Christ with your server… but they are subpar at best… but you tip them generously anyway because you don't want to give them a reason to be further offended at the gospel or Christians. Someone blows up at you at work… they tell human services you get pulled in and reprimanded. You just take it, smile and ask for forgiveness… because you know righteousness is more important than you being right. This isn't weakness - its meekness. I could, but I won't! WE SOMETIMES PROVOKE NEEDLESS OPPOSITION TRYING TO HARD TO BE RIGHT - RATHER THAN LOVING! When we are right morally we may in fact be wrong spiritually… We can focus on Non essentials, Captious, making mountains out of mole hills. We attack abortion and not share Christ Love We attack Socialism and not share Christ Love We attack Transgenderism and not share Christ love We attack their music, clothes, Political stance, their theological stance, even their religion and choices…

Hope for Right Now Podcast – Grace and Glory: Philippians 2 Join Lisa and Laura for our four-week podcast series—Grace and Glory, based on Saint Paul's letter to the Philippians. Often called The Epistle of Joy, Saint Paul's letter overflows with rejoicing, gratitude, and encouragement—amazing, when you consider that Paul wrote it from a prison cell. As women seeking joy but who often feel confined by our circumstances, what was Saint Paul's secret? How do we rejoice in our suffering? How do we remain grateful when our situation is the opposite of what we were hoping for? In this second episode of Grace and Glory, Lisa and Laura talk about unity, humility, and how to become shining lights in the midst of a dark and broken world. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Philippians 2 Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Matthew 23:12: Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. James 4:10: Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. Proverbs 29:23: A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Every day this week, slowly read the second chapter in The Letter to the Philippians. Consider looking up different Bible translations to help you enter more deeply. What verse or word stands out to you? Ask yourself: Do I have absolute confidence in Jesus as Lord? Am I recognizing my need for His heart with a daily commitment to prayer? Show mentions. Birthright citizenship guarantees citizenship to anyone born within the United States' territory, regardless of a parent's nationality. But should this legal principle be removed from the Constitution? Those arguing it shouldn't say that it prevents children from being punished for their parents' status, while encouraging long-term economic and civic contributions. But those calling to end the practice argue it fuels illegal immigration and strains the overburdened immigration system. Now, we debate: Should America End Birthright Citizenship? This debate was recorded on October 9, 2025 at 1 PM at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ. Craig Collins remains in for Greg Corombos, and he and Jim wrap up the week by looking at the lighter side of the likely national repercussions if, as expected, Zohran Mamdani is elected as mayor of New York City, examine an unjustifiable pardon from President Trump, and close out by questioning the choices of an allegedly “woke” update to the musical Damn Yankees. First, Craig and Jim start off with the inverse of yesterday's bad Martini, looking at polling numbers that indicate Mamdani is exceptionally unpopular outside of New York City, even among independents and Democrats. “The results are grim for Mamdani. Among self-identified Democrats and Independents alike and among voters at large, his numbers are actually considerably worse than those of Newsom, Ocasio-Cortez, and Harris.” And let's face it, it's not easy to be less popular than Kamala Harris these days. Next, President Trump has made an unpardonable pardon of Changpeng Zhao, the convicted founder of the crypto exchange Binance,. There aren't a lot of large financial institutions that are willing to do work with al-Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas, ransomware hackers, and kiddie-porn enthusiasts, all simultaneously; these are the kinds of guys who usually end up portrayed as the villains in Jason Statham movies. Finally, in more discussion of musical theater than you ever expected on this podcast, Craig and Jim examine a new revival of the musical Damn Yankees that adds a new racial component to the story, making the main character, Joe Boyd, take the deal because of memories of his father, “a minor league baseball player who was kept out of the major leagues because he was black.” Jim notes this undermines the musical's original theme that our family and loved ones are more important than the temptations fame and fortune, while Craig observes that the devilish seductive harlot being played by a white actress now adds an uncomfortable implication to Boyd's temptation. https://teachhoops.com/ In a recent episode of "Coach Unplugged," hosts Coach Collins and Coach Steger discuss the challenges high school athletes and coaches face when transitioning from fall sports like football or soccer to the basketball season. They emphasize the importance of understanding both the physical and mental adjustments required during this period. Building Personal Connections Coach Collins highlights the significance of knowing each player's name to foster stronger relationships and enhance communication. Using a player's name captures their attention and makes them feel valued, which is crucial for team cohesion. Balancing Expectations and Well-being The coaches stress that athletes should not be overwhelmed immediately after their fall sports season. Coach Collins avoids holding evening open gyms in September to prevent adding stress to players already committed to other sports. Instead, he offers morning sessions for those interested, respecting their time and need for rest. Understanding Physical Differences Between Sports Transitioning athletes need time to adjust to basketball's continuous pace, which differs from the stop-and-go nature of sports like football. Coaches should implement gradual conditioning programs to prevent injuries and fatigue, recognizing that immediate peak performance is unrealistic. Mental Health and Avoiding Burnout The mental shift between seasons is as crucial as the physical one. Overloading athletes can lead to burnout. Providing mental breaks and low-pressure activities like shooting practice helps athletes enjoy the game without feeling overwhelmed. Collaborating with Other Coaches Maintaining positive relationships with other sports coaches is vital. Open communication ensures athletes are not caught between conflicting commitments and that their best interests are prioritized. Providing Flexible Opportunities Offering optional activities allows athletes to engage with basketball without feeling obligated. This flexibility maintains their enthusiasm and prevents them from being overwhelmed by additional commitments. Supporting Non-Fall Sport Athletes Coaches can encourage athletes not participating in fall sports to focus on conditioning and skill development but should avoid excessive pressure. A balanced approach prepares them physically without risking burnout. Emphasizing Skill Development Focusing on shooting and fundamental skills during the transition period helps athletes acclimate to basketball. It provides a low-impact way to improve performance and serves as a mental break. Avoiding Early Season Burnout Starting the season too intensely can cause athletes to peak early and lose momentum. Coaches should pace the season appropriately, gradually increasing intensity to keep athletes fresh and engaged. Conclusion: Start Slow to Finish Strong The key message is to "start slow to finish strong." By pacing the transition and focusing on athletes' physical and mental health, coaches can set their teams up for a successful season. This approach leads to sustained performance and a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

When you buy something, it's a simple transaction—money goes out, and something tangible comes back in. But giving is different. Scripture tells us that when we give, we also receive—but not always in the way we expect. The return God promises isn't measured in bank balances or possessions. It's measured in freedom, joy, and purpose. Many people hear the phrase “give to receive” and imagine a divine transaction: give to God or others, and blessings—perhaps even financial—will return. But biblically, generosity is never a get-rich scheme. It's an invitation to live the kind of life God designed for us—a life marked by open hands and open hearts.God's Kingdom Is Not a Vending MachineSome interpret verses like Luke 6:38 (“Give, and it will be given to you”) as a spiritual formula: “If I give, God owes me something.” But this is a distortion of Jesus' teaching. God isn't running a cosmic vending machine where our dollars purchase His favor.Instead, He invites us to live differently—to find life not in what we keep but in what we release. If money itself were the ultimate reward, God would be reinforcing the very idol He seeks to break in our hearts. Jesus reminds us in Luke 12:15, “One's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” That truth echoes through every page of Scripture: generosity is not about loss—it's about liberation. What We Actually Receive When We GiveSo, if giving isn't transactional, what does Scripture say we receive in return? The Bible highlights three beautiful gifts that generosity brings.1. We Receive FreedomMoney has a unique power to capture our hearts. Jesus warned, “You cannot serve God and money” (Matthew 6:24). Every act of generosity is a declaration of allegiance: we are not owned by our wealth. Giving loosens money's grip and frees us to serve a greater Master.2. We Receive JoyIn Acts 20:35, Paul quotes Jesus saying, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” True joy doesn't come from what we accumulate—it comes from participating in God's generosity. John Bunyan put it this way: “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”3. We Receive PurposeWhen we give, we join God's mission in the world. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:11, “You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way.” The goal isn't self-enrichment—it's being a conduit of blessing. Generosity connects our story to God's story, reminding us that every resource we have is meant to reflect His generous heart.Giving Flows from GraceIf we're honest, our motives for giving can become mixed. We might give to feel good, earn approval, or to gain favor with God. But the gospel frees us from all of that. Ephesians 2:8–10 makes it clear: we're saved by grace, not by works. Our generosity is not a means of earning God's love—it's a response to already having it.Once we understand that truth, giving transforms from obligation into worship. We don't give to get something back. We give because we've already received everything in Christ. At the center of our faith stands Jesus—the One who gave everything. Paul captures it beautifully in 2 Corinthians 8:9:“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich.”Jesus didn't give to gain something for Himself. He gave because of love. Through His sacrifice, we received reconciliation with God and eternal life in His Kingdom—riches far beyond material wealth. When our giving mirrors His, our motivation becomes love, not return. And in that kind of giving, we experience the true riches of life in Christ.Living With Open HandsEven when generosity brings blessing, the return is never shallow or predictable. We don't give to multiply our possessions—we give to multiply love, freedom, and trust.Every act of giving draws us deeper into God's life—freeing us from greed, filling us with joy, anchoring us in purpose, and reminding us that He is our ultimate treasure. The world says, “Give so you can get.” The gospel says, “Give because you've already been given everything.”When we live with open hands, we discover that the richest life is the one fully surrendered to God.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:My wife had student loans before we got married, and the balance has now grown to about $65,000. I didn't realize how much debt she had until recently, and it's been hard to manage on our income—especially since her payments are currently set to $0 through an income-based repayment plan. How should we approach this situation, and what can we do to manage or reduce this debt given our financial limitations?I've been giving to my church using funds from my Required Minimum Distribution, even though I'm still working. Someone recently asked why I'm taking RMDs if I'm not yet required to. Do I have to take RMDs from my retirement plan while I'm still employed, or do the rules only apply to my IRA?I have both a Roth IRA and a brokerage account that I'd like to transfer to a new investment firm. The accounts have been open for more than five years. If I move my Roth IRA, does that five-year clock restart, or does the time I've already had it stay intact?I recently received an inheritance of about $200,000 after my father's passing. My mortgage balance is around $175,000. I don't have any other debt, but I do have five kids at different stages of life, including some in college, and I haven't saved much for retirement. Should I use the inheritance to pay off the mortgage and invest the remaining amount, or keep the mortgage and invest the entire amount for the future? Craig Collins remains in for Greg Corombos, and he notices a big mafia story arrives, just in time to honor his Italian heritage. Craig and Jim applaud some new Trump administration decisions on Ukraine, lament the fact that Zohran Mamdani looks like a shoo in to be the next mayor of New York City, and marvel at a big sports gambling scandal that led to the arrest of an NBA player and coach. First, Craig and Jim note that while it's been a long time coming, the Trump administration is hitting Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil with new sanctions, cutting off the Russian firms from American banking systems and financial institutions, essentially barring them from operating in U.S. dollars. Trump is finally getting wise to the fact that all of his seemingly good conversations with Vladimir Putin never seem to results in Putin's policies. Next, President Trump doesn't see any way that anyone can beat Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayor's race, and there's not a lot of evidence to counter the president's conclusion. In a year where a lot has gone right for the GOP, a major frustration is that no argument about Mamdani's extremism on everything from economics to policing to geopolitics has seemed to get traction. Finally, the Portland Trail Blazers face a tough lineup of opponents this year – the Warriors, the Lakers, and the FBI. The Bureau announced that it had arrested Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier as part of a pair of wide-ranging investigations related to illegal sports betting and rigged poker games backed by the Mafia. Jim and Craig acknowledge that while sports gambling is wildly popular, particularly among young men, the temptations and dangers of widespread legal sports gambling were predictable.Get 20% off your first purchase of classic menswear. On this episode of Michigan Wild's The Last 7 Days, Nate is recapping the last week of hunting. This episode is a 3 part podcast that Nate recorded after 3 separate hunts. Part 1 starts with a bang as Nate successfully harvested a doe with his bow. He recaps the entire hunt and the strategy leading to another tag punched. Part 2 is a recap of a morning hunt and scout. It lays the foundation for Nate's mindset as he is strategizing the hunt for B8. Part 3 is also an update after his most recent hunt that was exciting and almost resulted in another doe tag punch. After each hunt Nate feels the groundwork is beginning to take shape to close in on an encounter with B8. Going into the 4th week of the season is filled with high anticipation as sweet November is right around the corner! Thank you for listening to the episode!
