It's Wednesday, May 21st, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus British national Muslim fighters committed war crimes A recent report from the U.K. parliament found that hundreds of Islamic fighters have returned to England without facing prosecution. British nationals joined the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria between 2014 and 2019. The group targeted religious minorities and committed many war crimes. Since then, over 400 Islamic State fighters have returned to the U.K. However, the country's government has not prosecuted any of them for international crimes. Christians have faced high levels of persecution from Islamic fighters in Iraq and Syria. Both countries are ranked on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most dangerous to be a Christian.  Ecclesiastes 8:11-12 says, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.” Trump to Putin: “When are we going to end this bloodbath?” U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine on Monday. Trump said Russia and Ukraine would immediately start negotiations toward a ceasefire. He noted that the new Roman Catholic pope, Leo XIV, has offered to host the talks at the Vatican. President Trump warned that the United States would back out of the situation if both sides can't reach an agreement. Listen. TRUMP: “I said, ‘When are we going to end this Vladimir?' I've known him for a long time now. I said, ‘When are we going to end this blood bath?' It's a blood bath. I think it'd be great to have it at the Vatican. There's tremendous bitterness, anger, and I think maybe that could help some of that anger.” Trump dropped $37 million fine against Christian University The Trump administration dropped a $37 million fine against the largest Christian university in America Initially, Biden's Department of Education leveled the fine against Grand Canyon University. Brian Mueller, the president of the university, said, “The facts clearly support our contention that we were wrongly accused of misleading our Doctoral students and we appreciate the recognition that those accusations were without merit.” Ellen Keast, an Education Department spokeswoman, noted, “Unlike the previous administration, we will not persecute and prosecute colleges and universities based on their religious affiliation.” FDA discouraging young, healthy Americans from getting COVID shot On Tuesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced new rules for its approval of COVID-19 shots. The FDA said it will require more research before approving yearly COVID-19 boosters for young, healthy Americans.  The shots will still be approved for adults over 65 and for people with health problems that put them at higher risk. FDA officials noted, “The FDA will approve vaccines for high-risk persons and, at the same time, demand robust, gold-standard data on persons at low risk.” Man kills self, injured 4 outside in vitro clinic On Saturday, a car bomb was detonated outside an in vitro fertilization clinic called the American Reproductive Center in Los Angeles.  The blast killed 25-year-old suspect Guy Edward Bartkus and injured four other people. The in vitro fertilization facility was damaged, but the embryos stored inside were saved. Bartkus reportedly left behind a manifesto on a website. In it, he said he wanted to start “a war against pro-lifers” and “begin the process of sterilizing this planet of the disease of life.” Urge 19 Republican Congressmen to DEFUND Planned Parenthood Today, the House Rules Committee will have a hearing and vote on President Trump's “big, beautiful bill” to determine what budget items go to the House floor. If even a single amendment is added, the momentum we've built to stop funding Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion could vanish, reports Liberty Counsel Action. This is the last vote before the bill is placed on the House floor. Two conservative Republicans who voted “present” on Sunday night are also on the Rules Committee. The full House could vote on this bill as early as later today. Remember, there are 220 Republicans and 213 Democrats. Because the GOP majority is so slim, we need every one of them. Three moderate House Republicans are carrying the water for Planned Parenthood and pushing House leaders to continue funding the Murder Giant. Those three pro-abortion Republican Representatives include Mike Lawler (R-NY), Jen Kiggans (R-VA), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). These members are exerting significant pressure on House leadership to give up defunding Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion. We are on the cusp of victory, and we cannot allow this effort to fail. There are 19 key Republicans in leadership who need to hear from us. I've listed them in our transcript today along with a 3-sentence message you could read when you call today at www.TheWorldview.com.  Do not hesitate to leave a voicemail. Call as many of them as you can as early as you can! Email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com to let me know how many Congressmen you and your family members called. She was 91. In an announcement on the Precept website, her ministry said,  Kay “will be remembered for her love for the Lord, His Word, and His people.” A prolific author, Arthur wrote more than 100 books and Bible studies over her lifetime including her bestseller, Lord, Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days.  ARTHUR: “People need to discover truth for themselves because God promises in His word that He has given us everything that pertains, not only to life, but also to godliness, so that we might be fitted for every good work, so that nothing can come our way and throw us. “God is doing a work in their lives because the only text that they are looking at is the Bible, which is alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. It's a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It is a light unto our path. It's the very Word by which we live. It's the Sword by which we stand against the enemy." She often said, “When you know what God says, what He means, and how to put His truths into practice, you will be equipped for every circumstance of life.” Through Precept's inductive Bible study method—teaching believers to observe, interpret, and apply Scripture—Arthur equipped millions around the world to study the Bible for themselves.  Indeed, the ministry was heard in 150 countries in 70 different languages. It's Tuesday, May 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Fulani Muslim killed 15 unarmed Nigerian Christians On Saturday, May 17th, armed Fulani Muslim militia opened fire on Agatu Christians in Benue State, Nigeria, killing 15 unarmed men. Throughout that North Central region, the Fulani have also killed 159 Christian residents over the last 40 days, according to TruthNigeria.com.   Pray for Christians in Nigeria, suffering the most severe violence in the world today. Romania turns left after election interference On Sunday, Romania has taken the centrist-left position with the election of a new president named Nicușor Dan. Dan is supportive of Romania's participation in the European Union, and has made moves to approve the homosexual/transgender movement in his country. The more conservative candidate, George-Nicolae Simion, lost the election in a vote of 54% to 46%. Romania is the second largest Eastern European country by population.  The mainstream media is interpreting this election as an international rejection of the Trump agenda.  The back story is that Călin Georgescu, the conservative in the first round of the Romanian presidential election last December, garnered the most votes among the six presidential candidates at that time. After his opponents claimed that Russia had influenced the election through TikTok accounts, Romanian government officials detained Georgescu, canceled that election, and re-set it for May 18th.  Tens of thousands of Romanians protested in the streets back in March. At the time, Elon Musk said, “They just arrested the person who won the most votes in the Romanian presidential election. This is messed up.” Most and least benevolent countries According to this year's Gallup World Happiness Report, the most benevolent countries in the world, judged by donations and volunteer hours, are Indonesia, the United States, Kenya, Gambia, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand. The least benevolent countries are Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco.  Biden announces advanced prostate cancer Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, reports CBS News. On Sunday, President Trump posted on social media that he and First Lady Melania Trump are "saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis." Appearing on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Monday, former Obama health advisor Dr. Zeke Emanuel said the cancer is so advanced, he has had it for many years. SCARBOROUGH: “Doesn't it take some time for prostate cancer to develop to a point where it would spread to the bones?” EMANUEL: “He's had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.” Dr. Emanuel explained how serious Biden's prostate cancer truly is. EMANUEL: “That Gleason score, that score is from 2 up to 10, and he's at a 9. That means that the cancer doesn't look normal. It looks very abnormal.” Appearing on Fox News with Jesse Waters, talk show host Hugh Hewitt was incredulous. HEWITT: “This is the fourth time, in a little over 100 years, that a Democratic president -- Woodrow Wilson, FDR, John F. Kennedy and now Joe Biden, have hidden crucial details about their health as Commander-in-Chief from the American people. Ronald Reagan did not do that. “And it just astonishes me that in a free republic, we have to worry about our leaders telling us whether they're healthy or not.” Supremes allows Trump to revoke protection for thousands of illegal Venezuelans On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling allowing the Trump administration to deport 350,000 Venezuelans who are presently living in the U.S. on what they call a “humanitarian parole,” reports NBC News. Christian camp sues over foolish transgender mandates The State of Colorado is threatening to shut down a Christian Camp called Idrahaje -- short for “I'd Rather Have Jesus.” The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has refused to grant the camp a religious exemption concerning its transgender policies. This would require the camp to allow boys, pretending to be girls, to sleep, shower, and dress with female campers. The camp has sued the state, with representation from Alliance Defending Freedom. The camp disciples 2,500 to 3,000 students each year with the mission to “win souls to Jesus Christ through the spreading of the Gospel.”  Camp Idrahaje has complied with all regulations until this year when the Colorado government officials released new gender identity rules that became effective on February 14, 2025. 96% of atheists embrace homosexual/transgender agenda The most likely group in America to support the homosexual/transgender agenda are atheists with 96% professing support.  By contrast, 70% of white Evangelical Protestants oppose the lifestyle. Psalm 14:1 describes the atheist this way: "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works.” Mother loses right to disciple daughter Liberty Counsel is defending a mother in the state of Maine who has lost the right to guide the religious upbringing of her 11-year-old girl in a custody case.  This includes taking her daughter to Calvary Chapel services on Sunday.   A state district judge has ruled against the mother, citing “The ‘fear mongering,' paranoia, and anxiety taught by Calvary Chapel has, more likely than not, already had an impact on [the daughter's] childhood development.”   Expert testimony concluded that Calvary Chapel is a cult, the church's pastor a “charismatic” speaker, who spoke “authoritatively” in his messages, and that he asserted his messages were objective truth.   Liberty Counsel is appealing the case to the Maine Supreme Court. They still persecute people who preach about Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 says, “For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.” Housing prices sag Since June 2022, housing prices are sagging in some metro areas around the U.S. — 22.8% in the Austin market, 9.9% in the Phoenix market, 9.2% in the San Francisco market, 9.1% in the San Antonio Market, 7.3% in the Denver market, and 6.7% in the Dallas Market. The Consumer Price Index has also risen about 10% over that period of time. Moody's downgraded America's financial rating And finally, in a year-over-year comparison, the U.S. government is still breaking records for fiscal expenditures running 10% over Fiscal Year 2024. Moody's has downgraded the U.S. as a long-term issuer of bonds by one notch, ending a perfect rating for America over the last 108 years.  No longer does the U.S, government get a Aaa rating, the highest level available. Now, it's an Aa1. Moody's noted that the downgrade "reflects the increase over more than a decade in government debt and interest payment ratios to levels that are significantly higher than similarly rated sovereigns.” The rating organization added that: “Successive U.S. administrations and Congress have failed to agree on measures to reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs.”   Another independent rating service, named Fitch, downgraded the United States in 2023.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Catholic man brutally beaten to death On May 12th, Muslims in Pakistan, including a former police officer, tortured a Catholic laborer to death over an accusation he had stolen a cell phone, reports Morning Star News. Riyasat Masih from the Punjab Province, said that his 35-year-old brother, Kashif Masih, worked on the agricultural property of former police inspector Malik Irfan for the last three years. Before the Catholic man succumbed to his injuries, he revealed that the former police inspector ordered his seven accomplices to beat him till he confessed. Tragically, they tortured him with wooden clubs and iron bars, hitting him indiscriminately all over his body. Most brutally, they even hammered several steel nails into his legs. Riyasat, a surviving brother, said, “I cannot express the pain when I saw my younger brother's body. The bruise marks showed the brutality he had suffered at the hands of his influential employer and his goons.” Please pray that justice would be done and these Pakistani Muslims are held accountable. Exodus 20:13 says, “You shall not murder.” Mexican sailing ship crashed into Brooklyn Bridge Mexican sailors were seen dangling from a navy ship's main mast moments after the ship smashed into the Brooklyn Bridge, reports The Daily Mail. The sailors had been standing atop the Cuauhtémoc's 150-foot masts in the lead up to the ship striking the iconic structure on Saturday as part of a traditional greeting.  The massive Navy vessel, reportedly carrying nearly 300 passengers, hit the New York City bridge, triggering a colossal rescue response and leaving two dead and dozens more severely injured.   In multiple eyewitness videos, the towering masts are seen snapping and partially collapsing as they crash into the bridge's deck. Sailors perched high above are thrown into chaos, with some seen clinging to the shattered beams high up in the air. It was not clear how the ship's captain had not realized that the 150-foot height of the ship was taller than the bridge's deck which was 127 feet above the water. Urge your Congressman to vote to defund Planned Parenthood In its 2023-2024 annual report, Planned Parenthood revealed that it killed more U.S. babies than ever before, taking the lives of 402,230 boys and girls in the womb.  Even the New York Times and NPR are now acknowledging that Planned Parenthood is harmful and abusing taxpayer dollars. A grisly New York Times story from February 2025 features atrocious conditions at Planned Parenthood like botched abortions and leaking sewage. Shockingly, 5 women have died because of Planned Parenthood when they sought abortions.  Worse yet, American taxpayers were forced to fund $792 MILLION of this murderous mayhem – an increase of $100 million from the year before. With a GOP trifecta in Washington, it's time American taxpayers defunded Big Abortion! Thankfully, President Trump is committed to ending taxpayer-funded abortion.  It is the president's hope that his “big, beautiful bill” being debated in the House reconciliation process will defund Planned Parenthood. The challenge is that pro-lifers need every House Republican to pass the bill. After the bill failed to get out of the Budget Committee on Friday morning, May 16th in a 16-21 vote because some Republicans, like Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, didn't think it cut enough money from other sectors of the budget, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise claimed that the House WILL defund Planned Parenthood in a bill that would (a) get out of the Budget Committee and (b) pass the House in a floor vote this week, reports LifeNews.com. Call your Representative at 202-224-3121 and urge him or her to defund Planned Parenthood.  That's 202-224-3121. You can make that call any time of the day or night.  Please email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com to let me know you made this important call. Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter" Colorado transgender law tramples parental rights And finally, for weeks, the Colorado legislature has been debating whether or not to pass HB25-1312, the so-called “Protections for Transgender Individuals” act.  The state is especially hostile to a parent who is guilty of so-called “deadnaming” or “misgendering” their child. “Deadnaming” is calling a person, pretending to be the opposite sex, by their given birth name. And “misgendering” is when someone refers to the transgender person with pronouns which reflect their actual biological sex instead of the one they are pretending to be. This law, which sadly received majority votes in the Colorado House and Senate in early May, was just signed into law on Friday, May 16th by Colorado Democratic Governor Jared Polis, a homosexual who is in a faux marriage with his so-called husband.  Now, the courts have been empowered to literally remove children from their parents who do not affirm their child's gender confusion, especially in child custody cases. To his credit, Republican Colorado State Representative Jarvis Caldwell offered an amendment to HR 25-1312 that said public schools had to have parental consent to allow a student to change his or her name in school. Sadly, it was defeated.  Listen to his passionate plea on May 6th. CALDWELL: “I ran an amendment that said you have to have parental consent to change your name in school if you are a child, and that amendment was defeated. Now let me be clear to the members in here. “In my family, names have a meaning. There's a tradition there. I named my children. Who are any of you to tell me that my child can go to school and change their name without my even knowledge? Who are any of you to say that? “I gave them their names. I was there when they were born. I was there when they said their first words and took their first steps. I was there on their first day of school. I will be there on their last day of school. I will be there when they have children of their own, and they name their children. And God willing, my children will be by my side as I lay on my deathbed and take my last breaths on this Earth. Not a single person in this room will be. “Stop putting yourselves, the government, between us parents and our children. We are sick and tired of it. It's not about hating trans people. It's about putting yourselves in between us and our kids. That's why we have fought this bill. “We received thousands of emails, thousands of phone calls, not because thousands of people around Colorado hate trans people. It's because they're sick of the bills we're passing infringing on their rights. This perhaps may be the most egregious we've seen so far. That's why we feel this way. It is not about hate. It is about love, the love I have for my kids.” May the Lord raise up more Jarvis Caldwells, true Christian statesmen, to represent Biblical values in our legislatures. HEAVY HITTERS W/ GUEST: DR. SPENCER MILLS (Ep #3)

The Clay Edwards Show

Play Episode Listen Later May 19, 2025 39:54

On the third episode of Heavy Hitters, hosted by Clay Edwards on 103.9 FM WYAB, the spotlight was on Dr. Spencer Mills, a multifaceted entrepreneur whose diverse ventures embody the spirit of "outlaw entrepreneurship." Broadcasting live from the Men's Health and Women's Wellness Studio in Mississippi and streaming across platforms like Facebook, X, YouTube, and Rumble, the show delved into Mills' inspiring journey, his passions, and his definition of success. The episode, aired on May 19, 2025, offered listeners an engaging conversation filled with stories of cars, veterinary medicine, documentary filmmaking, and entrepreneurial grit.   Clay Edwards opened the show by introducing Mills, a veterinarian, custom car shop owner, and documentary filmmaker whose eclectic pursuits inspired the creation of Heavy Hitters. Edwards recounted how he first met Mills while making cold calls to sell radio ads. Intrigued by Mills' reputation at Gangster Garage, a custom car shop in Gluckstadt, Edwards popped in to check it out. The two hit it off, bonding over their shared love for cars, culture, and storytelling. This chance encounter led to Mills' appearance on the show, where his dynamic personality and diverse ventures took center stage.   Mills, a 36-year-old Jackson native, shared his path to becoming a veterinarian. Growing up on the north side of Jackson and attending Jackson Academy, he initially pursued a pre-med track at Ole Miss, driven by a childhood dream of owning a Lamborghini—a goal his parents tied to becoming a doctor. However, during his junior year, Mills began working at a veterinary clinic and discovered a passion for animal medicine. The excitement of going to work each morning signaled he was on the right path. He switched gears, applied to veterinary school at Mississippi State University, and graduated with a doctorate, albeit with significant student debt and a modest starting salary.   After vet school, Mills worked under mentor Dr. Dale Wilson at Mansfield Animal Clinic, where he was thrust into responsibility early on, managing the clinic solo within months of graduating. He also launched Mills Mobile Vet, a concierge house-call service, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. Recognizing a gap in after-hours pet care in Madison County, Mills and Wilson opened UrgiVet, an emergency veterinary clinic off Highway 51 in Madison. Now five years strong, UrgiVet has become a vital resource, drawing clients from the Delta, North Mississippi, and beyond, despite minimal advertising until recently partnering with Edwards' show for brand recognition. Mills' ventures extend far beyond veterinary medicine. At Gangster Garage, he oversees a boutique custom car and motorcycle shop that tackles unique, high-end projects, from exotic cars like Lamborghinis and Ferraris to family heirlooms like a 1963 classic with just 4,000 miles. The shop specializes in detailed builds, paint correction, ceramic coating, and collaborations with local partners for powder coating, tinting, and wraps. Mills described Gangster Garage as a “southern West Coast Customs,” emphasizing quality over quantity and a willingness to handle projects others shy away from. His personal fleet, including a 700-horsepower Ford Raptor and a V8 Hummer H3, reflects his lifelong love for cars, sparked by that childhood Lamborghini dream. While he's owned a Lamborghini in the past, Mills now focuses on vehicles that bring him joy, like his Raptor, which he calls a tangible reward for his hard work.   The conversation took an unexpected turn as Mills revealed his foray into documentary filmmaking through 13th South Productions. His entry into the industry came through a connection who needed custom cars built for a movie. This led to a partnership with a seasoned filmmaker who saw Mills' potential and invited him to work on a feature film shot in Canton, Madison, and the Mississippi coast. Within three years, Mills climbed the ranks to producer—a rare feat in an industry where such roles often take decades to achieve. His documentary work includes Little Brother of War, which explores the Choctaw game of stickball, a culturally significant sport akin to NFL-level passion for the tribe. Filmed at the Choctaw Fair, the project is nearing a streaming deal with major networks. Mills is also wrapping up Seize the South, a documentary on Mississippi's medical cannabis industry, featuring interviews with patients, doctors, lawmakers, and celebrities like Cheech and Chong, Jim Belushi, Mike Tyson, Willie Nelson, and soon Ric Flair, whom Mills will interview on June 13, 2025, at Southern Sky Brands' Pearl dispensary.   Throughout the episode, Edwards and Mills explored the theme of outlaw entrepreneurship—blazing one's own path to success. Mills' ventures, from UrgiVet to Gangster Garage to filmmaking, are fueled by his passions for animals, cars, and storytelling. He emphasized the importance of networking, noting how connections opened doors to his film career and other ventures, including a forthcoming gun and ammunition business, which they didn't have time to fully discuss.   When asked to define success, Mills offered a heartfelt response: it's about doing what you love, making a living from it, and finding fulfillment in the impact you have on others. For him, success is saving a pet on the brink of death and witnessing the owner's relief, or building a custom car that brings joy to a client. It's about waking up excited to work and leaving a positive mark, whether through a saved animal or a story told on screen. Reflecting on his journey, Mills admitted to moments of realization—like seeing his Raptor in a window's reflection and remembering the struggles of vet school debt—where he acknowledges how far he's come.   For those struggling to find their spark, Mills' advice was simple yet profound: pursue what excites you. Find something that makes you eager to get up each morning, and don't be afraid to take risks or pivot from a stable but unfulfilling path. His own leap from pre-med to veterinary medicine, and later into cars and film, exemplifies this mindset.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims kill 2 Christian teachers Boko Haram Muslim terrorists recently targeted Christians traveling near a Nigerian army base along the deadly Damboa–Maiduguri highway, reports International Christian Concern. On May 12th, two Christian teachers were killed and several others were injured when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device allegedly planted by the Islamic terror group. Blessing Luka and Gideon Bitterleaf were both devoted Christian educators with the Damboa Local Education Authority. Pray that these Muslim murderers will be held accountable. Genesis 9:6 says, "Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind." More children in United Kingdom have gender dysphoria Soaring numbers of children in England and Wales are waiting for specialist gender care from the National Health Service -- as youngsters of any age are now eligible for referral after the health service “caved to the pressure” of transgender activists to remove age limits, reports The Daily Mail and World Magazine. Average waiting times have grown to more than two years for a confused child to get a first appointment at a specialist health service clinic, with 157 of those aged under ten. There were 6,225 confused kids on the national waiting list at the end of March. That's up 12 per cent from the same point a year earlier. Young children believed to have gender dysphoria are generally given counselling and therapy with their family, but thankfully no longer prescribed hormone treatments.  Indeed, Britain's National Health Service has moved away from a “medical model” in favor of a “holistic” approach to children's gender care, as per recommendations from the Cass Review. Puberty blockers are no longer prescribed to children for the treatment of gender dysphoria, after a ban last year was made permanent in December. Former FBI Director calls for Trump's assassination Former FBI Director James Comey is facing massive backlash after he posted a photo on his Instagram page calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump, reports Christian Talk show host Todd Starnes. An image of seashells that had been arranged on the beach to spell “86 47” was posted on Comey's personal Instagram account. The number “86” is code for killing someone. And, of course, “47” refers to the fact that Donald Trump is the 47th president of the United States. Comey wrote, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem tweeted, “Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey just called for the assassination of President Trump. [the Department of Homeland Security] and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately.” And Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama tweeted, “This is a direct THREAT against President Trump, who has already survived two assassination attempts. BEYOND despicable. James Comey MUST face consequences.” RFK Jr. agrees to examine the dangers of Abortion Kill Pill A recent study by the Ethics and Public Policy Center on the Abortion Kill Pill, mifepristone, showed that 11% of women experience adverse effects serious enough to send them to the Emergency Room. That's 22 times higher than what the Food and Drug Administration claims.   Appearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on May 15th, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. agreed to a comprehensive review and relabeling of Mifepristone in response to a pointed question from Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, reports The Guardian. Listen. HAWLEY: “There's been a major study by the Ethics and Public Policy Center of 865,727 prescribed cases of mifepristone abortions, chemical abortions, between 2017 and 2023. This data shows the biggest study on mifepristone done, I think, ever, and it showed that nearly 11% of women experience very serious adverse health effects to include sepsis, hemorrhaging, infection, of course, emergency room visits. That rate is 22 times higher than the FDA's current label which says it's just 0.5 the incidence of serious adverse health events. “So, my question to you is this: You previously testified at the committee that you would do a top-to-bottom review of mifepristone. Do you continue to stand by that? And don't you think that this new data shows the need to do a review is, in fact, very pressing?” KENNEDY: “It's alarming, and clearly it indicates that, at very least, the label should be changed. I've asked Marty Makary, who's the director of FDA, to do a complete review and to report back.” HAWLEY: “Good!” South Carolina Supreme Court affirms Heartbeat Law The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that the state may enforce its heartbeat-based abortion ban, rejecting an argument by Planned Parenthood to weaken the law, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Enacted in 2023, the law effectively bans most abortions after about six weeks gestation. South Carolina Republican Governor Henry McMaster told the Daily Wire, “Time and time again, we have defended the right to life in South Carolina, and time and time again, we have prevailed. Today's ruling is another clear and decisive victory that will ensure the lives of countless unborn children remain protected and that South Carolina continues to lead the charge in defending the sanctity of life.” Psalm 127:3 says, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Christian band under fire by atheists and superintendent And finally, a popular Christian band is under fire from atheists along with Davidson County Schools in North Carolina, reports Blue Ridge Broadcasting. The 3 Heath Brothers band had been invited to host an anti-bullying event at Hasty Elementary School. Their performance included a number of songs that mentioned God. Afterwards, they gave the kids a devotional pamphlet that included Bible verses. The Freedom From Religion Foundation was enraged over the performance and accused the school of being a recruiting ground for Christianity. The God-hating attorney, Madeline Ziegler, wrote, “The district cannot allow non-school persons to treat schools as a recruiting ground for their religious mission.  Public schools are not an appropriate place for outside adults to convince students to convert to Christianity.” Sadly, the School Superintendent Gregg Slate was just as horrified with the Christian band and wrote a lengthy letter of apology to the atheists. But then, the school district went a step further. They had the audacity to demand that the 3 Heath Brothers remove video of the event from their social media pages. A bizarre request indeed. School officials claim they were duped. But Nicholas Heath of the 3 Heath Brothers denied that there was any proselytizing or worship service at the event. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 1,518 executions worldwide in 2024 A report from Amnesty International found there were 1,518 executions around the world last year. That's up 32 percent from 2023. Nations with the most documented executions include Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.  These numbers do not include executions in China, North Korea, and Vietnam. China is considered to be the world's leading executioner, with potentially thousands of executions last year. All of these countries are ranked on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  British city council no longer bans street preachers A local government district in England has backed down from banning street preachers. Back in March, Rushmoor Borough Council sought to criminalize street preaching, praying for people, singing, or handing out Bibles. Local churches, supported by the Christian Legal Centre, opposed the plan. Thankfully, the council backed down.  Jamie Broadey, a local evangelist, said, “Since we found out about the injunction and asked for prayer, we have been contacted by Christians from across the UK. The issue is uniting preachers and Christians and we are prepared to challenge this as far as need be to prevent the Gospel being criminalized.” Acts 5:29 says, “But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.'” $1.2 trillion economic package with Qatar United States President Donald Trump is visiting countries in the Middle East this week. Yesterday, he signed an agreement with Qatar that would generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion. This includes an historic sale of Boeing aircraft and GE Aerospace engines to Qatar Airways worth $96 billion.  Trump budget insists on work requirements for Medicaid This week, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives unveiled the “big, beautiful bill,” as the president calls it, to advance Trump's agenda.  The bill includes tax breaks, spending cuts, and border security.  Notably, the measure would cut $900 billion from Medicaid spending. It would also require many people to prove they are working, volunteering, or pursuing education to be eligible for Medicaid. Listen to comments by House Speaker Mike Johnson. JOHNSON: “We are protecting Medicaid for the people who need and deserve it. This program is an essential lifeline for our most vulnerable Americans: pregnant women, single mothers, low income seniors, the disabled. That's who Medicaid is intended to be for, and that's who we're protecting while we're eliminating fraud, waste and abuse to improve Medicaid. “These are reforms to restore and preserve the system so that it doesn't collapse on itself. That means ensuring illegal aliens don't get coverage meant for Americans in need. It means implementing work requirements to ensure that adults who can work, but refuse to, cannot keep cheating the system. We're going to continue to call this out.” Trump's bill defunds Planned Parenthood The “big, beautiful bill” from Republicans also paves the way for defunding Planned Parenthood. The legislation would bar federal funds from going to prohibited entities that perform abortions in many cases. The measure would also cut taxpayer funding for transgender surgeries for minors.  U.S. drug overdose deaths down Drug overdose deaths in the United States declined last year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 80,000 people died from overdoses in 2024. That's down 27 percent from 2023. It's the largest drop in overdose deaths on record. However, overdose deaths are still higher now than they were before the COVID-19 pandemic.  Inflation down and egg prices down Annual inflation was lower than expected last month. The consumer price index rose 0.2 percent in April. That put the 12-month inflation rate at 2.3 percent. Inflation is now the lowest it's been since 2021. Notably, egg prices fell by over 12 percent. However, they're still up about 50 percent compared to a year ago. Worldwide Bible engagement update And finally, the American Bible Society released the second chapter of its State of the Bible USA 2025 report.  The chapter looks at Bible engagement around the world.  People are most actively engaged and committed to the Bible in areas that are majority Christian like Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.  Interestingly, people are the most receptive to new ideas and other religions in Muslim-majority areas like North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.  The greatest indifference to the Bible is found in the secular west and certain majority-Christian areas like the U.S., Western Europe, Russia, and Eastern Europe.  Of countries in the secular West, the U.S. had the highest rates of Bible usage and church attendance.  Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the Earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, May 15th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 80% of Cuban churches are not legal Evangelical Focus reports the Alliance of Christians in Cuba met recently to highlight religious freedom violations in the country.  The alliance noted that over 80% of churches in Cuba are unable to have legal status. Churches face confiscation of property and pastors face obstacles just to visit people in hospitals or nursing homes. Religious leaders in the country suffered nearly 1,000 repressive acts last year.  Cuba is ranked 26th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  British Evangelical church attendance up The United Kingdom Evangelical Alliance released its Changing Church 2025 survey. The study found Evangelical churches experienced an average of 13% increase in attendance between 2020 and 2025. Also, churches have documented twice as many people expressing interest in the Christian faith as well as making first time commitments to Jesus compared to 2021. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” United Kingdom closes its borders Speaking of the United Kingdom, the nation's prime minister, Keir Starmer, announced Monday that Britain would be ending its open borders experiment. Listen to comments he made at a press conference. STARMER: “Nations depend on rules. … Now in a diverse nation like ours, and I celebrate that, these rules become even more important. Without them, we risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together. … So yes, I believe in this. I believe we need to reduce immigration significantly.” Starmer said he would raise English language requirements and the skills threshold for people entering the U.K. Saudi Arabia invests $600 billion in America President Donald Trump, who visited Saudi Arabia in person yesterday, announced that our ally will be investing $600 billion in the United States. This includes a $142 billion deal for the U.S. to sell weapons to Saudi Arabia. Trump made the announcement during a visit to the Middle East. TRUMP: “We've seen wealth that just poured and is pouring back into America. Apple is investing $500 billion, Nvidia is investing $500 billion, [Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company] is investing $200 billion and, with this trip, we're adding over $1 trillion more, in terms of investment into our country, and buying our products.” During his trip, Trump also announced he would be lifting sanctions on Syria to “give them a chance at greatness.”  Planned Parenthood gives transgender drugs available to minors Live Action released an undercover investigation recently, showing how easy it is for minors to get transgender drugs through Planned Parenthood. An undercover operative, posing as a 16-year-old, was offered such drugs by 30 facilities. Lila Rose, the founder and president of Live Action, wrote on X, “Planned Parenthood is prescribing cross sex hormones for minors — same-day prescriptions via virtual appointments. … Defund Planned Parenthood now!” Proverbs 12:10 says, “The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Tennessee ensures teachers & students can use accurate pronouns Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee  signed House Bill 1270 into law last Friday. The measure takes on gender ideology in public schools.  Teachers and students cannot be forced to use biologically inaccurate pronouns that violate their beliefs. Matt Sharp, Senior Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “In no world is it acceptable for the government to discipline students or force good educators or other public servants out of a job all for the sake of promoting gender ideology. With this legislation, Tennessee is rightfully stepping into the gap to protect freedom of speech and conscience.” Tariffs brought in $16 billion to U.S. Treasury U.S. tariff revenues reached all-time highs last month. Customs duties brought in $16.3 billion in April, up from $8.75 billion in March. Overall, tariff receipts are up 18% this year compared to last year. This comes after Trump instituted a 10% tariff on all U.S. imports last month. 115-year-old woman is oldest person alive And finally, Guinness World Records reports a woman from the U.K. is now the oldest woman alive as well as the oldest person alive. Ethel Caterham lives in Surrey, England. She is 115 years old. She became the world's oldest living person after Inah Canabarro Lucas from Brazil died at the age of 116 last month.  Ethel lived an adventurous life while looking out for others, especially children. She outlived her husband and two daughters. She now has three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Commenting on her longevity, she once told the Salisbury Journal, “Say yes to every opportunity because you never know what it will lead to. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Four Christian families evicted in Laos Four Christian families have lost their homes, after being evicted from their village in north-western Laos a week ago.  They were forced to leave their possessions behind, and leave their home in the Luang Namtha province in northern Laos, near the border of Thailand.   BarnabasAid.org has provided funds to cover the believers' immediate needs for rice, cooking oil, hygiene products, and other essentials. United Kingdom's disturbing euthanasia bill The United Kingdom House of Commons is considering a euthanasia bill.   A rather macabre government appraisal has estimated a cost savings of 59.6 million pounds for the killing of 1,000 and 4,500 people per year. The government report also noted other cost savings from the “social care sector and in social security payments.” The bill would allow the killing of a person whom doctors prophesy to only have six months or less to live. Deuteronomy 27:25 speaks to this when the leaders of Israel said, “Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!'” Christian clerk, who refused to certify homosexual “marriage,” goes before Supremes Liberty Counsel, a Christian legal advocacy group, will be appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court for Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis of Rowan County. She is arguing that the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment protects her from liability and damages for refusing to issue a “same-sex marriage” license against her religious beliefs. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said that the case “underscores why the U.S. Supreme Court should overturn Obergefell v. Hodges because that decision threatens the religious liberty of many Americans who believe that marriage is a sacred institution between one man and one woman.” Closer to nuclear war today The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists has moved the Doomsday Clock to 89 seconds before midnight. The clock, which estimates the risks of nuclear war, has been in operation for 70 years.   During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the clock moved to 7 minutes to midnight. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the clock moved to 17 minutes. The clock moved to 2 minutes in 2018, and now 89 seconds to midnight in 2025. The organization attributes “profound global instability and geopolitical tension” to the moving of the needle. “King of Kings” animated film makes $65 million The Mormon-owned Angel Studios has succeeded again — with the film “King of Kings,” an animated story of a little boy who takes a journey through events in the life of Jesus. (audio clip of trailer) FATHER: “Our story begins 2,000 years ago, when baby Jesus came into the world.” SON: “Wait, wait, stop. If it's not about a king, then I'm not interested!” FATHER: “This story is about the King of kings.” SON: “Wow!” FATHER: “It has angels and wicked kings and miracles.” SON: “Look at all the fish.” FATHER: “Oh, so you want to hear the story now?” SON: “Uh-huh!” So far, the film has collected $65 million at the box office. That exceeds the Angel Studios' previous box office total of $14 million for the film, “His Only Son” on Abraham's trek to Mount Moriah. Last year's film, “Cabrini,” produced by Angel Studios, was a treatment of the Roman Catholic saint by the name of Maria Francesca Cabrini who established 67 schools and orphanages in New York City in the late 1800s for poor, Italian immigrants. This production earned $21 million at the box office. The Mormon-owned studio's top box office hit was “The Sound of Freedom,” earning $251 million in 2023 — a film on the subject of sex trafficking. The Chief Executive Officer of Angel Studios is Neal Harmon, a Mormon. Tentative trade agreement between China and America U.S. President Donald Trump announced Monday a temporary China-US trade agreement, which would cut U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 30%. China would cut their tariffs on U.S. imports from 125% to 10%. TRUMP: “Yesterday, we achieved a total reset with China. After productive talks in Geneva, both sides now agree to reduce the tariffs imposed after April 2nd to 10% for 90 days as negotiators continue in the largest structural issues. “That doesn't include the tariffs that are already on, that are our tariffs, and it doesn't include tariffs on cars, steel, aluminum, or tariffs that may be imposed on pharmaceuticals because we want to bring the pharmaceutical businesses back to the United States. They're already starting to come back now, based on tariffs, because they don't want to pay 25%, 50%, or 100% tariffs. So, they're moving them back to the United States. “The talks in Geneva were very friendly. The relationship is very good. We're not looking to hurt China. China was being hurt very badly. They were closing up factories. They were having a lot of unrest, and they were very happy to be able to do something with us. The relationship is very, very good. I'll speak to President Xi maybe at the end of the week.” The deal will operate during a trial period of 90 days. U.S. government debt spirals higher The U.S. government is still on a big spending spree. The U.S. Treasury records a $1.049 trillion budget deficit for the first seven months of fiscal 2025. That's up 23% over a year earlier. Social Security spending is up 9% year-over-year. Outlays reached a record number of $4.159 trillion for the year to date. Gutsy GOP Congresswoman wants to defund Planned Parenthood And finally, Breitbart News reports that Republican Congresswoman Mary Miller of Illinois is behind a move to defund Planned Parenthood's abortion funding through the budget reconciliation process. Miller noted that “abortions made up 97.1% of Planned Parenthood's pregnancy services from 2021-2022, performing nearly 400,000 abortions.” The House Committee on Energy and Commerce released a portion of the proposed bill on Monday, with the provision to strip abortion providers of funding.   Mary Miller is a homeschooling mom of seven and grandmother of 20, hailing from the state of Illinois. Proverbs 24:11-12 reminds us, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Surely we did not know this,' does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 13th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, May 12th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Chinese Communists order Christian media to publish propaganda China's only legal church, the Communist Party-controlled Three Self Patriotic Movement, has been ordered to publish more communist propaganda including President Xi Jinping's thoughts and teachings in its so-called “Christian” media, reports Bitter Winter. But Exodus 20:16 warns, “You shall not bear false witness.” Biden denied cognitive decline, claimed voters are sexist for electing Trump Last Thursday, former President Joe Biden, and former First Lady Jill Biden, appeared on ABC's “The View.” Whoopi Goldberg asked about the now famous debate debacle. GOLDBERG: “You know, what freaked everybody out? was that debate. BIDEN: “Yep.” GOLDBERG: “It wasn't a great night. It was a bad night.” BIDEN: “Terrible night.” GOLDBERG: “and everybody lost their mind.” BIDEN: “Yep.” GOLDBERG: “This is what started … BIDEN: “Yep.” GOLDBERG: “… both sides with this, ‘Oh, he can't do this. This needs to stop.' Why do you think that caught fire? Why do you think people bought into it, especially the Democrats?” JOE BIDEN: “The Democratic Party at large didn't buy into it, but the Democratic leadership and some of the very significant contributors did. I'm going to say something outrageous. I've not lost many debates in my life. I've been pretty good at doing that. I was sick. No excuse. I had a bad, bad night.” Alyssa Griffin asked about his mental competence. GRIFFIN:  “Mr. President, since you left office, there have been a number of books that have come out, deeply sourced from Democratic sources, that claim in your final year there was a dramatic decline in your cognitive abilities. What is your response to these allegations? Or are these sources wrong?” JOE BIDEN: “There are wrong. There's nothing to sustain that.” Jill Biden weighed in as well. JILL BIDEN: “The people who wrote those books were not in the White House with us, and they didn't see how hard Joe worked every single day. I mean he'd get up, he'd put in a full day, and then at night, I'd be in bed reading my book, and he was still on the phone, reading his briefings, working with staff. I mean, it was nonstop. Joe worked really hard. I think he was a great president. If you look at things today, give me Joe Biden any time.” GRIFFIN: “Mr. President, just to follow up on this, some of the reporting is that people like your former president, you served under Barack Obama, George Clooney, a long-time supporter of yours -- a major Democratic donor, Chuck Schumer, your dear friend Nancy Pelosi, also had expressed concerns about your ability to do the job for four more years. Can I ask what your relationship is with President Obama and how you address those concerns that they raised?” JOE BIDEN: “The only reason I got out of the race was because I didn't want to have a divided Democratic Party. It's a simple proposition. So that's why I got out of the race. I thought it was better to put the country ahead of my interest, my personal interest.” Sara Haines asked about Kamala's election loss. HAINES: “Why do you think the Vice President lost? And were you surprised?” JOE BIDEN: “I wasn't surprised, not because I didn't think the Vice President's not the most qualified person to be president. She is. She's qualified to be president of the United States of America. I wasn't surprised because they went the route of, the sexist route, all the whole route. I mean, this is a woman. She's this, she's that. Really, I've never seen quite as successful and a consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman couldn't lead the country and a woman of mixed race.” And Alyssa Griffin asked about Trump's landslide election to a second term. GRIFFIN: “Well, Mr. President, you had previously said that you thought that you would have won. Since then, Donald Trump won all the battleground states and made inroads with almost every major demographic, from working class voters to Hispanic men to black men. Knowing what you know now, do you think you would have beat him?” JOE BIDEN: “Yeah, he still got 7 million fewer votes. A lot of people didn't show up, number one, Number two: They're very close in those, those toss up states. It wasn't a slam dunk.” Charlotte viewer objects to Biden's Preserve-My-Legacy Tour Jack Acuff of Charlotte, North Carolina, sounded off in a fascinating  Facebook video post. ACUFF: “Somebody tell me:  'Why Jill Biden keeps dragging Joe out for these TV appearances and making a bad situation worse?' “Did you see him on ‘The View' this week? It was sad. It's the Preserve-My-Legacy Tour and the ‘Stick-it-to-Obama-and-George-Clooney-and-Nancy-Pelosi Tour, where he repeats again that he could have won, that Americans only chose not to vote for her because she's a minority and a woman, and we're racist and misogynist, and that he is ready to go at any minute.” Trump fully defunds pro-abortion UN Population Fund The Trump administration has fully implemented the defunding of the United Nations Population Fund, an agency which promotes abortions worldwide, reports LifeNews.com.   Specifically, Trump pulled $335 million in taxpayer funds from the pro-abortion United Nations agency. It's the result of the pro-life executive order Trump signed in January that prohibits American tax dollars from going to groups that promote or provide coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization. Connecticut calls for tough new laws on homeschooling And finally, the state of Connecticut is getting tough with homeschoolers, reports WFSB. Using a couple of cases of egregious child abuse, the Connecticut Office of Child Advocate commissioned a report which advocates new legislation.  It's entitled “A Review of Children Withdrawn from School for Equivalent Instruction Elsewhere.” They write, “Currently, parents who wish to withdraw their children from school need do nothing more than assert that they are homeschooling or sending their children to private school. Once a parent does that, there is no further interaction with the public school system required. There is no verification of enrollment in private schools. There is no verification that a child is, in fact, being homeschooled.” The Connecticut Office of Child Advocate says every other New England state requires some form of annual evaluation or assessment.  The report says, “Homeschooling, when done properly, can be a positive experience for children and families. … Nothing in this report is a general criticism of homeschooling nor a suggestion that children should not be homeschooled. Nonetheless, not every parent who withdraws their child for the stated purpose of homeschooling is, in fact, providing their children with an education. Worse, some take advantage of Connecticut's complete lack of oversight to isolate children and abuse them.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, May 12th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Second anniversary of brutal violence in India Christians of Manipur State, India marked the second anniversary of the brutal ethnic violence that erupted on May 3, 2023, reports International Christian Concern. Shockingly, 258 people were killed, 1,000 injured, and 60,000 people were displaced. Plus, 4,786 houses were burnt and 386 religious structures were vandalized, including temples and churches. India is the 11th most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Cardinals selected first American Pope On the fourth vote, the College of Cardinals, referred to as the Papal Conclave, chose the first-ever American Pope.  Robert Prevost has taken the name of Pope Leo XIV, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Born in Chicago, educated at Villanova University, and a missionary to Peru, Prevost selected the name Leo for a reason. On ABC News, Catholic Pastor James Martin said this. MARTIN: “Historically, it's a name that would signal his alignment with workers, labor, and the poor.” Catholics claim that Peter, the fisherman disciple of Jesus, was the first pope. In fact, Scripture does not teach that Peter was in authority over the other apostles at all or over the church. Indeed, Ephesians 2:19 says, “So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” Catholics also claim that the pope is infallible when he acts or speaks as Christ's representative on Earth. That assertion is not Scripturally supported either. Pope critical of Trump/Vance, pushed COVID vaccine, & removed conservative bishops In terms of positions on the issues, Prevost has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump's administration and has consistently used his X account to promote material hostile to Trump's immigration policies.  In one instance from February 3, Prevost reposted an article by the National Catholic Reporter entitled “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn't ask us to rank our love for others.” The article criticizes the U.S. vice president for correctly arguing that we owe more immediate responsibility to our own family members and country than to those overseas – a position taught by St. Thomas Aquinas – and reiterated in the “social encyclicals” of the nineteenth- and twentieth-century popes.  As head of the Congregation for Bishops, Prevost was instrumental in the removal of conservative Bishop Joseph Strickland in 2023 from Tyler, Texas, and the removal of the leading French conservative bishop, Dominique Rey, from his diocese of Fréjus-Toulon.   Prevost also reposted a call for the abortion-tainted COVID-19 vaccines to be “available for all” and a United States Conference of Catholic Bishops post that called getting vaccinated “an act of love.”  In 2012, a year before the election of Pope Francis, Cardinal Prevost expressed disappointment that some Western media held “sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the Gospel,” in particular, the “homosexual lifestyle” and “alternative families comprised of same-sex partners and their adopted children.” Trump's trade deal with U.K. nets U.S. $5 billion opportunity On Thursday, President Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced they had reached a trade agreement that lifted some — but not all — U.S. tariffs on British goods, reports National Public Radio. Trump said it would give U.S. companies better market access for beef, ethanol, other farm products, chemicals, machinery, and industrial products — new opportunities his administration said were worth $5 billion. 2nd largest automaker making splash in America Speaking of the positive impact of Trump's tariffs, Volkswagen Group, the second largest automaker in the world in 2024, is preparing to join the growing list of automakers looking to re-equip its US factories in response to the tariffs, reports The Daily Mail.  The German automaker's luxury brand, Audi — which assembles most of its lineup in its home country, Hungary, Mexico, Slovakia, Spain, and China — is planning to make some of its crossover and SUV models now in America. ‘Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer regrets ex-girlfriend's abortion Frasier star Kelsey Grammer opened up about his profound regret over his ex-girlfriend's abortion in his newly released memoir, reports People Magazine. This tragedy closely preceded another in the actor's life: the 1975 rape and murder of his younger sister, which is the main subject of his memoir Karen: A Brother Remembers.  In his new book, Grammer wrote, “I know that many people do not have a problem with abortion, and though I have supported it in the past, the abortion of my son eats away at my soul.” Just months before his sister's death, he explains that his then-girlfriend became pregnant and decided to abort their baby. While he said he was “willing” to keep the baby, he “did not plead with her to save his life.” Grammer admits he “volunteered to have my son's body vacuumed out of his mother's.” As Live Action reports, abortionists use “vacuums 10-20 times more powerful than a household vacuum cleaner to tear (babies) apart alive.”  Grammer added, “I regret it.” Despite his harrowing regret over his own son's death by abortion, the TV star ironically says he still believes abortion should be legal. Proverbs 31:8 says, “Open your mouth for the voiceless.” Over 7,750 baptized in largest single-day baptism in US history And finally, on Saturday, 7,750 people were baptized in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Huntington Beach, California, an event organizers say marked the largest single-day baptism in American history, reports The Christian Post. Hosted by Oceans Church and led by Pastor Mark Francey, the event dubbed "Baptize California" drew approximately 30,000 attendees from more than 300 churches across the Golden State. Iranian-Armenian pastor Joseph Shahbazian was arrested in February and sent to the infamous Evin Prison in Tehran. He has faced prison time before for participating in a house church and collecting tithes. Authorities also arrested his wife last month. Iran has criminalized offering tithes to support church activities. The country is ranked ninth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  India launched air strikes on Pakistan On Tuesday, India launched air strikes on Pakistan. India said it was in retaliation for an attack last month from alleged Pakistani nationals. India and Pakistan are on the brink of a wider conflict. Local church leaders are calling for Christians to pray for the countries. Bishop Nadeem Kamran is the head of the Anglican Church of Pakistan's Diocese of Lahore. He told Christian Daily International, “As the fear of war looms over the subcontinent, I ask all Christians in the two countries to observe … a day of prayer and fasting for peace in the region.” In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” Trump's truce with Houthis On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced a truce with the Houthis in Yemen. The United States has been carrying out strikes on the Houthis in Yemen for weeks. This is in response to the Houthis attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea. Despite the truce, the Houthis said they will continue attacks on Israel in support of Palestinians in Gaza. Listen to Trump's comments at an Oval Office meeting. TRUMP: “The Houthis have announced that they don't want to fight anymore. We will honor that. We will stop the bombings. They have capitulated.” Trump will rebuild and reopen Alcatraz off San Francisco coast President Trump announced Sunday he is directing the Bureau of Prisons to rebuild and reopen Alcatraz. The small island is located 1.25 miles offshore from San Francisco near the Golden Gate Strait. The island was developed in the mid-19th century with facilities for a lighthouse, a military fortification, and a military prison. In 1934, the island was converted into a federal prison, Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. The strong currents around the island and cold water temperatures made escape nearly impossible. The prison became one of the most notorious in American history. Trump posted on Truth Social that the infamous former prison will “house America's most ruthless and violent Offenders. We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally. The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE.” The prison closed 60 years ago, but once housed the likes of Al Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelly, and James “Whitey” Bulger. HHS denounces misguided treatments for gender confusion The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a report last Thursday, denouncing so-called treatments for gender confusion. The study evaluated the impact of transgender drugs and surgeries on children.  The department noted, “These interventions carry risk of significant harms including infertility/sterility, sexual dysfunction, impaired bone density accrual, adverse cognitive impacts, cardiovascular disease and metabolic disorders, psychiatric disorders, surgical complications, and regret.” Federal Reserve keeps interest rate in the 4.25%-4.5% range The Federal Reserve decided to keep interest rates unchanged on Wednesday.  The Fed's benchmark interest rate remains at 4.25% to 4.5%. The Fed warned of potentially higher unemployment and inflation as the economy adjusts to President Trump's tariff plan. Meanwhile, Trump continues to call for lower interest rates. World's largest page of Bible just printed to honor Gutenberg Press And finally, the International Gutenberg Society printed the world's largest page of the Bible, measuring 38 square yards, on April 26th, 2025 in Mainz, Germany. The event commemorated the 625th anniversary of the birth of Johannes Gutenberg. The German inventor created the moveable-type printing press. And he produced the first printed version of the Bible. The Gutenberg printing press revolutionized the dissemination of the Bible, making it more accessible to a wider audience than ever before. Prior to Gutenberg's invention, Bibles were hand-copied, a laborious process that made them expensive and rare. The printing press allowed for mass production, increasing availability and lowering costs. This led to a surge in literacy, the spread of the Bible, and Christianity. The commemorative event showcased a massive copy of the first page of John's Gospel. It was made from the largest industrial paper rolls available and covered nearly 400 square feet.  John 1:1-4 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, May 8th, my 59th birthday, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Ugandan Muslims stabbed evangelist after winning Muslims to Christ Islamists killed a Christian evangelist in Uganda last month after he led several Muslims to Christ.  Thirty-eight-year-old David Washume spent three days preaching in eastern Uganda. Many people responded, including some Muslims. Shortly afterward on April 3, masked men stabbed David to death.  One person who heard his preaching before he died told Morning Star News, “On the third day the attendance increased in number, and he demanded a response of putting sin to death in their lives, to kill sin and identify themselves with Christ and against Satan, and their voices lifted to Heaven in song.” In Matthew 16:25, Jesus said, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Thousands joined Ireland's March for Life Thousands of people joined the March for Life in Dublin, Ireland on Monday. (You can watch the 44-minute rally here). The number of recorded abortions in Ireland rose from over 2,800 in 2018 to over 10,000 in 2023. Newly elected Irish Senator Sarah O'Reilly spoke up for the little ones and for the women who are being sold abortion. O'REILLY: “Every life matters. Women deserve better than abortion. We are here because we know Ireland can be a place where compassion and courage walk hand in hand. Our soaring abortion numbers reveal a tragedy that cannot and must not be ignored any longer.” Senator O'Reilly also addressed the need for conscience protections for pro-life doctors and nurses in Ireland, so that they will not be coerced into participating in surgical and chemical abortions. O'REILLY: “In addition to the terrible loss of life from the abortions that will take place, there are not sufficient freedom of conscience protections in place for doctors and other healthcare workers who don't want to facilitate abortions. The lack of transparency surrounding what is happening under the abortion law is allowing coercive abortion practices to operate freely. “Some of you will be aware of the horrific story involving a minor in care who was locked in a room and forced to take an abortion pill. Something is clearly not right in our country when a story like this is relegated to the ‘news in brief' section of a daily newspaper and completely ignored by all the other media outlets.” And Senator O'Reilly referenced the deadly demise of Irish babies with Down Syndrome. O'REILLY: “Up to 95% of unborn babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome at the hospital now end up being aborted. When that announcement was made, there was no outrage, no expressions of remorse by the architects of Ireland's new abortion regime.” Trump's new religious liberty commission In the United States, President Donald Trump established a religious liberty commission by Executive Order last Thursday. The commission consists of 14 members, including evangelist Franklin Graham, Dr. Ben Carson, Christian writer and talk show host Eric Metaxas, and First Liberty Institute President Kelly Shackelford.  Trump directed the commission to evaluate threats to religious liberty. Specifically, he wants the commission to address the challenges to the First Amendment rights of pastors, attacks across America on houses of worship, the debanking of religious entities, and challenges to parental authority to direct the education of their children, including the right to choose a religious education. Listen to comments made by Texas Republican Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick. PATRICK: “We were a nation birthed by prayer, founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic to ensure that people could worship as they wished without interference from government. But that is no longer the case. “The last administration attacked people of faith for four years. There's a saying that ‘No one should get between a doctor and a patient.' I think we would say, ‘No one should get between God and a believer. (applause) No one should get between God and those seeking Him.” Supreme Court allows Trump ban on transgender soldiers In a 6-3 vote on Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme allowed the Trump administration to implement a ban on transgender troops.  At issue is an Executive Order from Trump which stated, “A man's assertion that he is a woman, and his requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member.” The Supreme Court's decision could lead to the discharge of thousands of military personnel.  177,000 jobs added in April; Unemployment at 4.2% American job growth was stronger than expected last month. The U.S economy added 177,000 jobs in April. The unemployment rate remained low at 4.2%. Seema Shah, chief global strategist at Principal Asset Management, noted, “We can push recession concerns to another month. Job numbers remain very strong, suggesting there was an impressive degree of resilience in the economy in play before the tariff shock.”  Trump considers 100% tariff on foreign movies Speaking of tariffs, President Trump announced a potential 100% tariff on foreign movies on Sunday.  The tax could apply to films produced abroad and sent into the U.S. Trump said, “We want movies made in America, again!” Only 66% of Americans identify as Christian today And finally, Christian pollster George Barna released his latest report on the American worldview. The study found 66% of U.S. adults describe Christianity as their faith, down from 72% in 2020. Meanwhile, non-Christian faiths have grown significantly. Buddhism has grown 56%; Judaism by 21%; and Islam by 12%. And people who identify as having no faith grew 10%, outnumbering Catholics now.   Furthermore, only 18% of adults consistently rely upon the Bible to discern moral and spiritual truth. Isaiah 55:6-7 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, May 7th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. A professing Christian, former Prime Minister Han Duck-Soo, is running as an independent in the race. His wife, Choi Ah-young, is a fourth generation Christian. Her father is an elder. And her great grandfather founded a number of churches during the Japanese colonial period of the 1920s and 1930s.  Han's entry heats up the scramble among conservatives to unify behind a candidate to compete with liberal front-runner Lee Jae-myung, whose campaign recently was set back by a court decision to open a new trial on election law violation charges, reports ABC News. 106,745 Russian soldiers and 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died Since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian War, 106,745 Russian soldiers have been killed.  The last year was the most deadly, with a reported loss of 45,287 Russian lives. Ukrainian casualty numbers vary widely — with as many as 13,000 civilians and 60,000 soldiers counted among the dead. Australia lurches left like Canada Following the Canadian election which tipped towards the anti-God, secular humanist, progressive side, Australia did the same thing over the weekend. The liberal Labor Party has secured at least 86 seats in parliament, up from 77 in its last go around.   Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set for his second three-year term in power.  Muslims have six kids on average compared to low fertility of others The global birth rate is crossing the 2.2 children-per-woman mark, crossing over the replacement level of 2.1.That's down from 5.3 children per woman in 1963 worldwide. World Bank data points to the Muslim-heavy nations of Somalia, Chad, Niger, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the highest fertility rates exceeding six children per woman. Countries with the lowest birth rates below 1.0 child per woman include South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Chile, and Puerto Rico. Eastern Europe is seeing the steepest declines in birth rates. Deuteronomy 28:15-18 reminds us of God's dealings with nations: “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all His commandments and His statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. Cursed shall you be in the field.  Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb.” Oil becoming less expensive World oil prices have sunk to $57 per barrel — about the same price as it was in 1987. The average gas price in the United States is $3.26 per gallon, down from $3.76 per gallon last summer. Disney pushes homosexual scene in “Star Wars Andor” Disney has incorporated a prominent homosexual scene in its latest episode of Star Wars Andor. This marks another milestone in the ongoing homosexualization of Disney, with the scene marking the first prominent display of homosexuality for featured characters. Disney has increased its revenues to $91 billion per year, and has registered another 5% increase in its first quarter in 2025.  Overall revenues for the entertainment company are up about 20% since the pro-homosexual organization entered into a conflict with Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis.   Levi Strauss and Disney were the first companies to provide benefits to homosexual employees between 1992 and 1995. Conservative Presbyterians growing and Liberal Presbyterians fading The Presbyterian Church in America, the largest conservative Calvinist denomination in the United States, is registering its highest number of members in its 51-year history — topping 400,700 this year. Offerings were up 7.4%, year-over-year, according to stats just released by the denomination. Another conservative denomination, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, registers 33,520 members, growing at a rate of 3% per year. Meanwhile, the more liberal PCUSA church membership has dropped off from 3.1 million to 1.1 million over the last 40 years. Warren Buffet gave $8.4 billion to fund abortion And finally, Warren Buffett has announced his retirement from Berkshire Hathaway, as Chief Executive, effective January 1st. The 94-year-old Buffett is currently listed as the sixth richest man in the world behind Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, and Bernard Arnault of France.    Buffett's foundations have provided $8.4 billion to pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation. Plus, Buffett was a major supporter of the “RU-486” abortion kill pill. Forbes reports that other major pro-abortion billionaire donors include: Mackenzie Scott (Amazon's Jeff Bezos's ex-wife), the Bill Gates Foundation, the Hewlett Family, Michael Bloomberg, and George Soros. But now, take comfort in these words from Isaiah 49: 24-26. The prophet asks, “Can the prey be taken from the mighty or the captives of a tyrant be rescued? For thus says the Lord: ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children. I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with wine. Then all flesh shall know that I am the Lord your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.'” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 6th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, May 5th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 18-wheeler truck plowed in Easter parade, killing 6, injuring 18 A government-appointed committee determined that the Muslim driver of an 18-wheeler truck that plowed into an Easter parade on Sunday, April 21, in the town of Billiri in Gombe State, Nigeria, intentionally struck the Christians as they celebrated Christ's resurrection.  The committee also found that of the 36 people struck in the attack, six died, and 18 remain in critical condition, reports International Christian Concern. Pray Psalm 147:6. It says, “The Lord sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.” China official hints he wants to end tariff war with U.S. China is hinting that it could be willing to talk to Trump administration officials as a way to end the trade and tariff war, reports The Western Journal. A Chinese Commerce Ministry representative said, “China is currently evaluating” messages from administration officials that “expressed their willingness to negotiate with China on tariffs,” according to the Wall Street Journal. He added, “China's position is consistent. If you want to fight, we will fight to the end; if you want to talk, our door is wide open.” President Donald Trump's 145 percent tariff on Chinese imports led China to impose a 125 percent tariff on American imports. Trump has said he will not blink without concessions that could include greater access to Chinese markets. Chinese-American expert: Get tougher on China Appearing on ‘Fox Report' with Jon Scott, Gatestone Institute senior fellow Gordon Chang explained that China has no tariffs on certain categories of products that only America can provide. SCOTT: “China is making allowances for some US products to be imported without tariffs. Does that suggest that they are finding that it's not so easy to block U.S. products?” CHANG: “Oh, absolutely. And you know, it's not just that they're reducing tariffs. You know, for instance, President Trump reduced tariffs on electronic goods coming in from China. “What China has done, which we learned from both the Reuters and the Financial Times reporting yesterday, is that there are no tariffs on certain categories of U.S goods. So, for instance, aviation parts, semiconductors, medical devices, medicines, industrial chemicals -- things that China can't get elsewhere -- and they're just coming into China tariff-free.” Chang urged Trump to get even tougher on China. CHANG: “Instead of talking about reducing tariffs, I think that we need to start actually imposing some more costs. “So, for instance, China is not taking Boeing aircraft deliveries. We flew back three 737 Maxes from China that were about to be delivered. Well, if I were President Trump, I would say to Boeing, ‘You can no longer provide services or parts to Chinese Airlines because that will ground the Chinese fleet. And I think that will bring the Chinese to heel fairly quickly. “But we need to do some things that would be considered unthinkable. This is not the type of normal trade war that people are used to. This is looking like an all-encompassing struggle. When President Trump last week signaled conciliatory moves, the Chinese even got worse, and they were saying, ‘Well, no talks until the U.S. removes all tariffs.'” Angry parent blasts school board over daughter's gender transition A furious Lakewood, Colorado father, Dustin Gonzalez, lost his temper with woke educators during a county school board meeting, saying his daughter's new gender identity and transition was kept secret from him and affirmed by school staff. GONZALEZ: “I'm not a politician. I'm not a loud voice on social media. I'm a father, a quiet one, one who goes to work, tries to do right by his family, and stays out of the spotlight. But now, now you're gonna remember my name. “My daughter changed her identity, not after years of discussion or family dialogue, not from joint input from both of her parents. No, this happened quickly, secretly, encouraged by a school-appointed therapist in a system that never thought to include me. And the school didn't inform me. They didn't include me. They didn't even ask me. They replaced me! “By the time I found out, I was already labeled ‘the problem.' My objections weren't treated as concerns. They were treated as opposition. My voice was dismissed as hateful. My presence undermined. The therapist, the school, and eventually the court-appointed investigator all decided that because I wouldn't affirm something, I didn't deserve to parent my daughter equally anymore. “They didn't accuse me of abuse. They didn't claim I'd caused harm. The only evidence against me was that I said, ‘I'm not ready to affirm this yet.' That's it! “And now I'm at risk of losing parenting time, of being erased from my daughter's life, not because I failed as a father, but because I dared to ask questions. And it started in your schools. Your systems made it possible, and your silence made it permanent! “You gave my ex all the tools she needed to take our daughter from me, tools that she couldn't have forged on her own. You gave her the therapist, you gave her the ideological support, and you never once thought, ‘Shouldn't the father be involved too?' “You gave her a system that cut me out of the picture. You handed her the tools to eliminate me from my daughter's life. And with your help, she's trying to race me all together. You replaced my voice. You stole my seat at the table. And you made decisions about my daughter without me! “I don't care if you personally signed the policies, stayed silent while he passed, or simply chose not to know, you are all responsible. Don't think you can take a man's child from him and not reap a whirlwind!” Just like Psalm 103:13 articulates, a father has compassion on his child. But sadly, in this case, the government school's woke policies became a wedge between father and child. Texas Governor signs $1 billion school choice program And finally, on Saturday, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed a $1 billion school voucher program into law, cementing the biggest legislative victory of his decade in office, reports the San Antonio Express-News. ABBOTT: “It is time that we put our children on a pathway to having the number one ranked education system in the United States of America. (applause) “Gone are the days that families are limited to only the school assigned by government. The day has arrived that empowers parents to choose the school that's best for their child.” Abbott referenced parents in the crowd who had already pulled their students from “low-performing” public schools to put them into private ones.  Under the $1 billion school choice law, Texas students who are enrolled into the program will receive $10,000 per year to go to an accredited private school. Disabled students will get up to $30,000 per year and home schooled students will receive $2,000 per year per child. The first year of operation will begin in 2027. The state will choose nonprofits to run the program, develop the application process, and pick which 100,000 students will have access to it. Local elections: Reform seizes Runcorn in teal tsunami

Votes are being counted across England, but there is a clear early winner from these local elections: Nigel Farage. His party triumphed in the Runcorn and Helsby by-election this morning, overturning a 14,000-odd majority and winning by just six votes! Elsewhere, Andrea Jenkyns triumphed in Lincolnshire; Reform came second in a number of mayoral races; and their 38 per cent vote share in Runcorn matches the best-ever performance that Ukip achieved in a by-election. So far, the story is one of teal triumph – at the expense of the two main parties. Labour are already pointing to the difficulty incumbents often face at local elections, and will claim victory after narrowly holding out in three mayoral races: North Tyneside, the West of England and Doncaster. The Tories, however, appear to have totally capitulated – but with widespread results for councils across England expected later, that could all change. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistan's record 344 blasphemy cases against Islam A human rights watchdog group chronicled a record 344 new so-called “blasphemy” cases in the 96 percent-Muslim country of Pakistan in 2024, highlighting increased abuse of the country's condemned blasphemy laws, reports Morning Star News. The top three categories include “hurting of religious sentiments,” “desecration of the Quran,” and “disrespecting [their false prophet] Muhammad.” Of the 344 new blasphemy cases, 70 percent of the accused were Muslims, 6 percent were Christians, 9 percent Hindus, and 14 percent Ahmadis, according to the Annual Human Rights Observer report issued by the Center for Social Justice. Between 1994 and 2024, the report stated that at least 104 persons in Pakistan accused of so-called “blasphemy” were executed extra-judicially. Mike Waltz out as National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is out as President Donald Trump's national security adviser and is instead his new nominee for ambassador to the United Nations in a major shake-up of Trump's national security team, reports USA Today. On May 1, Trump said that Waltz was leaving his White House post, confirming a departure that was reported hours earlier amid the continued fallout after Waltz accidentally invited a journalist into a messaging chat in which top national security officials discussed plans for Yemen airstrikes. United States and Ukraine sign rare earth metals agreement On April 30th, the United States and Ukraine finally signed the minerals deal that was delayed by the now-infamous Oval Office exchange between the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents two months ago, reports The Epoch Times. With China continuing to tighten its grip on critical minerals after the imposition of U.S. tariffs, control of so-called “rare earth metals”—essential for the production of electric vehicles, wind turbines, and smartphones—is becoming ever more important. One challenge is that 20 percent of Ukraine's mineral resources, including about half its rare earth elements deposits, are in areas under Russian occupation. The agreement stipulates that future American military assistance to Ukraine will count as part of the U.S. investment into the fund, rather than calling for reimbursement for past assistance. Jewish author David Horowitz, defender of Christians, has died On April 29th, conservative Jewish author David Horowitz died at the age of 86, reports NewsMax.com. His story is one of a self-proclaimed former Marxist who had "second thoughts" on Leftist ideology and became a conservative stalwart and a fierce defender of religion and President Donald Trump. In fact, Trump used the title of Horowitz's book Final Battle: The Next Election Could Be the Last to make it a prevailing theme in hundreds of Trump campaign rallies leading up to his 2024 re-election. In Final Battle, Horowitz had predicted the leftists, so fearful of Trump's return to the White House, would stop at nothing, including indictments against the former president. The effort backfired, as Trump's campaign raised millions off the indictments and would ultimately knock out the Biden family dynasty and defeat replacement candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Horowitz's books often dealt with his conversion to become a Republican during Reagan's administration, the fight from the Left against religion, and the Left's seeking to destroy America. A practicing Jew, Horowitz said one of the most important books he wrote was entitled Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America—which detailed the Left's war on Christianity, which, he warned, would lead to making the religion illegal and open for persecution. Psalm 27:1 should be the guiding verse of all Christians who are persecuted worldwide. “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” Companies bolt from Homosexual Pride Month And finally, two years after transgender Dylan Mulvaney's catastrophic undoing of Bud Light, June's over-the-top sexual perversion celebration—at least as a wholesale business concept—is dead, reports The Washington Stand. For most CEOs, it's been a year of unprecedented realignment. Dozens of major brands are following up on their commitments to drop Diversity Equity Inclusion, and leftist political causes, prompting them to drop sponsorships of June's marquee events. The first warning shots were fired in March, when organizers of the San Francisco Homosexual Pride Parade confessed that they were having trouble hanging on to corporate sponsors. The signature event in America's Homosexual-Transgender Paradise has already lost $300,000! Among those who pulled back were big-time names like Comcast, Anheuser-Busch, and Guinness/Smirnof. Plus, at major Homosexual-Transgender Pride events across New York City, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C., gun-shy businesses are running for the exits. According to the Wall Street Journal, Mastercard, PepsiCo, Nissan, Citibank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Darcars Automotive Group are opting out of major sponsorships altogether. Most businesses are even asking to have their names and logos removed “from official displays and apparel.” More executives have decided it's financial suicide to team up in any meaningful way with June's in-your-face celebration. In fact, 39 percent of corporate leaders plan to decrease their observance of Homosexual-Transgender Pride this year, according to Gravity Research. The result? A massive shortfall in funds for Homosexual Pride-fests on both coasts. Bloomberg noted six in ten “point to President Donald Trump's policies regarding transgenderism and diversity, equity and inclusion as a driver. Almost 40% of all firms raised concerns over criticism from conservatives and customers.” Appearing on Washington Watch, Will Hild, executive director of Consumers' Research, is delighted. HILD: “I couldn't have asked for more. It's been such an incredible whirlwind of pushback and Executive Orders on the entire DEI-grift complex. So, I think it's been fantastic. We've seen what this is doing to the federal government, but I'm hopeful over the next 100 days, we're going to start to see this trickle through to the for-profit sector, the corporate sector.” Hild had a word for Christians and conservatives as well. HILD: “I think conservatives tend to only think of their power being in terms of their wallet. In other words, if they don't like a company, what they're doing, they just won't shop there. “They spend millions upon millions of dollars trying to figure out why people shop at Target or Walmart or go to a different place. It's a lot easier when you send an email or call somebody and say, ‘I don't appreciate this thing.' We saw this with Target. We saw this with Budweiser. It went viral on social media. “Say something both to the company and say something on social media because they track that kind of thing. So, I would say, use both your wallet and use your voice.” Sign up to receive a weekly text message from Consumers' Research that will alert you to a different woke company which you can email or call. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Police attacked Christians in India The All India Christian Council called out officials in Odisha State, India last week for violence against Christians. The council found that police assaulted tribal Christians, attacking women, children, and priests back in March.  International Christian Concern reported a particularly disturbing event. “A 62-year-old woman who had buried her husband just hours earlier was also allegedly beaten up, along with her 17-year-old daughter, while they were in mourning.” The council noted that officials did not take any formal action against the violent police personnel. Proverbs 11:20-21 says, “Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are His delight. Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.” 47 percent of Germans are religiously unaffiliated A new study found that people who identify with no religion outnumbered Protestants and Catholics in Germany for the first time last year. These religiously unaffiliated make up a shocking 47 percent of the country's population. Catholics represent 24 percent of the population, and Protestants represent 21 percent. Together, Catholics and Protestants lost over one million members last year in Germany. Meanwhile, the number of Muslims in the country increased by 80,000 last year. Supreme Court could allow publicly-funded religious charter school In the United States, the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments yesterday in a case that could lead to the nation's first publicly-funded religious charter school. Oklahoma's charter school board approved funding for St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School. However, the state's attorney general is challenging the decision. Conservative justices on the high court appeared supportive of the religious charter school. Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters told CBN News what the case is all about. WALTERS: “It's about the freedom to express your religious beliefs without being penalized by the government. And it's about school choice and making sure that parents actually have that power over their kids' education. Economic growth slowed as businesses tried to stock up on imports ahead of President Donald Trump's tariffs. And federal government spending was down 5.1 percent this year. The U.S. denomination grew from about seven million members in the 1950s to a peak of over 16 million in the mid-2000s. Since then, it has declined to 12.7 million members last year. However, the Southern Baptist Convention baptized 250,000 people last year, a 10 percent jump from 2023.  Kevin Ezell, the president of the North American Mission Board said, “We celebrate every baptism and every new life in Christ. It's encouraging to see these numbers continue to move upward.” Capitol Hill's Bible Reading Marathon And finally, Christians gathered on Capitol Hill to read the entire Bible aloud. The Bible Reading Marathon started Saturday and finished yesterday.  For 90 continuous hours, Christians read from Genesis to Revelation in Washington, D.C. Keith Davidson led the event. He told The Christian Post, “Our goal is to bring attention back to our legislators, of course, and to get the attention back on the word of God. And then for [legislators] to remember that's where our nation's foundation is at, and also, for people who are reading, to let them publicly express their faith.” In an interview on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, Mike Herbster, Director of Southland Christian Ministries, talked about the power of reading the Bible aloud in the capital of Louisiana, like they did on Capitol Hill. HERBSTER: “We know that the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. [Hebrews 4:12] We know that obviously, as the word of God goes forth, the Bible says it will not return void. [Isaiah 55:11] So, even in the public declaration of it out loud to our state, even though not everybody will hear all of it, we know that some will hear some of it.” Deuteronomy 31:10-11 says, “And Moses commanded them, saying: ‘At the end of every seven years … when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God … you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully observe all the words of this law.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, May 1st, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed 7 Christians Boko Haram terrorists attacked a Christian community in northeast Nigeria on Monday. The Muslim militants killed seven Christians, injured many more, and destroyed homes and church buildings.  One local believer told Morning Star News, “Kwaple village in Chibok Local Government Area is under attack from Boko Haram terrorists. Please pray for God's intervention.” Indeed, pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria. The African country is ranked seventh on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most dangerous to be a Christian.  In John 15:20, Jesus said, “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.” Only 62% of Americans support free speech Pew Research released a new survey on free expression around the world. Across 35 countries, a majority of adults in most of those countries believe that freedom of the press, freedom of speech, and freedom on the internet are very important.  However, adults are much less likely to say they actually observe complete freedom of expression in their country.  Sadly, in the United States, support for free speech has declined from 71% in 2019 to 62% today.  European power outage crippled Spain, Portugal, and France A massive power outage hit Europe on Monday, affecting Spain, Portugal, and parts of France. The unprecedented failure grounded flights, froze trains, and disrupted cell service. Thankfully, much of the grid was restored yesterday. Experts ruled out sabotage and cyberattacks as the cause. However, Spain's electric operator Red Eléctrica  did identify two incidents of power generation loss that were likely from solar power plants, reports Reuters.  California's economy grew by 6% California's gross domestic product reached $4.1 trillion last year. That put the Golden State ahead of Japan, making it the world's fourth-largest economy behind Germany, China, and the U.S. as a whole. In addition, California's economy grew by 6% last year, faster than the other top four economies. Tennessee doctors and nurses not forced to do abortions Last Thursday, Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee signed the Medical Ethics Defense Act into law. The law protects medical professionals from participating in practices that violate their conscience like abortion. Erica Perdomo, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, testified before the Tennessee legislature. PERDOMO: “There are doctors who practice medicine, consistent with a pro-life worldview, in which an abortion is never medically necessary.” Her colleague, Greg Chafuen, praised the legislation. He said, “Patients are best served by health care professionals who are free to act consistent with their oath to ‘do no harm.' … Tennessee's Medical Ethics Defense Act ensures that health care professionals are not forced to participate in procedures that violate their ethical, moral, or religious beliefs.” IBM defends free speech IBM recently changed its advertising policies to back down from censorship in favor of free speech.  Alliance Defending Freedom is leading a coalition that brought about the changes at IBM and other major companies like PepsiCo, Mastercard, and Johnson & Johnson.  Jeremy Tedesco with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “We hope every company follows IBM's example and recommits to doing its part to protect freedom of speech and thought in our nation and throughout the world.” IBM investing $150 billion in America Speaking of IBM, the tech company announced Monday that it plans to invest $150 billion in the U.S. over the next five years. This includes $30 billion for research and development of mainframe quantum computers.  IBM's CEO Arvind Krishna spoke to Fox Business about the investment.  KRISHNA: “We are extremely focused on leveraging American ingenuity and American innovation. “When I think about artificial intelligence, quantum computing, mainframe computers, this Research and Development investment, coupled with all of the associated manufacturing, is going to allow the United States to be at the front of all those three technologies.” Religiously unaffiliated in U.S. at 22% now And finally, Gallup released a new survey on religious preferences in the United States. Protestant identification was 45% last year, down from 57% in 2000. Catholic identification is 21%, down from 25%. And identification with no religion at all is 22%, up from 8% over the same time period.  Although the number of religiously unaffiliated Americans surged from 2000 to 2017, their growth has plateaued in recent years. Hebrews 10:23-24 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, April 30th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Canadians elect liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney to full term Canada's Liberal Party won Monday's national election with voters giving  Mark Carney, a full term as prime minister, according to the national broadcaster CBC/Radio Canada. They chose a seasoned economist and policymaker to guide their country through turbulent times, reports The Epoch Times. The full results should be available early this morning. But the voters' decision sealed a stunning turnaround for the Liberal Party that just months ago seemed all but certain to lose to the Conservative Party, led by career politician Pierre Polievre. Carney has been prime minister since March, when former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stepped down. Going into the election, leftist Mark Carney led conservative Pierre Polievre by a 3.5% margin. Canadians favor abortion and homosexual faux marriage Canada is a progressive nation, progressive towards that which is evil. Sadly, 80% of Canadians favor abortion and 76% favor homosexual faux marriage or legal recognition. Canada is the eighth most pro-homosexual nation in the world, on at least one survey. Arson attacks on Canadian churches have doubled Over the last ten years, arson attacks on Canadian churches have risen from about 35 per year to 75 per year. That's about triple the rate of arson attacks on churches in the United Kingdom and the United States, according to a well-documented report from Macdonald-Laurier.   Unbelievably, only about 4% of the arson attacks are investigated and charged. Russia cozies up with North Korea Russia's relationship with North Korea is more solidified, with the official Russian TASS News Agency confirming yesterday that the nations have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. Russian President Valdimir Putin issued a statement in which he commended North Korean soldiers for what he called “North Korean soldier's heroism, their excellent training, and dedication displayed while fighting, shoulder to shoulder with Russian soldiers, defending our Motherland as their own.” He added that, ”Our North Korean friends' move was guided by a sense of solidarity, justice, and genuine comradery.” North Korea remains the most dangerous country for Christians The Open Doors' World Watch list puts North Korea at the top of the list for the most extreme persecution of Christians in the world. In early 2024, the North Korean government announced stricter regulations and more draconian crackdowns and terrifying persecution of its citizenry. According to official reports, “the authorities publicly executed about 30 middle-school students (early teenagers) for watching a Korean drama on a USB drive. Several teenagers (17 years old) were sentenced to life imprisonment or death for similar reasons in June and July 2024.” Isaiah 10 speaks of these tyrants: “Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of My people of their right.  .. What will you do on the day of punishment, in the ruin that will come from afar? … When the Lord has finished all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, He will punish the speech of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the boastful look in his eyes.”  Trump's first 100 days: Southern border secure, economy faltering Today marks President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office. The U.S. Border Patrol encounters with illegal immigrants plunged to 7,000 in March—the lowest number in at least 25 years. By contrast, there were 250,000 illegal border crossings in December 2023.  Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest rates have doubled since last year, increasing from 310 to about 650 per day. Plus, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the results of Operation Tidal Wave. LEAVITT: “We are in the beginning stages of carrying out the largest deportation campaign in American history. Over this past weekend, it was announced that through Operation Tidal Wave, a joint effort between ICE Miami and Florida law enforcement agencies, nearly 800 illegal aliens were arrested during the first four days alone. “Among those arrested were a Colombian murderer, an alleged MS-13 and 18th Street gang members, and a Russian with a red notice for manslaughter. “And on the other side of the country, in the early Sunday morning hours, DOJ and DHS together launched a joint raid of an illegal alien underground nightclub used by Tren de Aragua in Colorado Springs, Colorado, DHS took more than 100 illegal aliens into custody, and many drugs and weapons were also seized. “Operation Tidal Wave is a preview of what is to come around this country: Large scale operations that employ our state and local enforcement partners to get criminal illegal aliens off our streets.” While our southern border is more secure and we're deporting illegal criminals, the American economy is faltering. Estimates of the first quarter Gross Domestic Product growth rate are coming in anywhere from -0.4% to 0.8%, a sharp decrease from fourth quarter 2024 results of  2.4%. Housing sales down Housing sales are sagging here in the U.S. Supply of existing homes stands at the highest level since 2016, nine years ago. Sales numbers are down to the lowest levels in 14 years. U.S./Chinese trade down American trade with China is taking a hit.  Vizion Global Ocean Bookings Tracker records a 44% decline on trade, year-over-year.  Overall, U.S. imports are down 22%, year-over-year. Abortion Kill Pill 22 times more dangerous than first reported About two-thirds of the officially-recorded abortions in this country are now conducted by the Abortion Kill Pill.   But now comes this -- the “largest-known study of the abortion pill,” conducted by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. Complications with the Abortion Kill Pill are 22 times higher than first reported. Based on extensive research on hundreds of thousands of insurance claims, 10% of women who take the mifepristone kill pill suffer from a serious adverse event, such as an infection or hemorrhage soon afterward. Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary caves for survival And finally, a major U.S. evangelical seminary is moving to Canada. Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary in Illinois will be joining forces with Trinity Western University in British Columbia. But Trinity Western capitulated to Canada's requirement that students not sign a covenant prohibiting “sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman.” Trinity Divinity School was formed to train ministers for the Evangelical Free Church of America back in 1897. Full time enrollment has dropped from 897 to 402 over the last twenty years. Proverbs 25:26 says, “As a troubled fountain, and a corrupted spring, so is a righteous man that giveth way before the wicked.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, April 29th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Indonesian Church closed the day before Easter The joyful atmosphere of the Easter weekend celebration at the Ecumenical Christian Communion congregation in Java, Indonesia, turned sorrowful when local government officials sealed the prayer house building on Saturday, April 19, one day before Easter, reports International Christian Concern. The sealing occurred only one day after the congregation held a Good Friday procession to mark one of the three holy days of Easter at their Prayer House.  250,000 attended Pope Francis' funeral Pope Francis' funeral took place in St. Peter's Square on Saturday morning, attended by 250,000 people, before his body was taken to his place of burial across the city, reports LifeSiteNews.com. (audio from male choir) Following the funeral, Francis' body was transferred back inside St. Peter's Basilica before then being placed into a popemobile. His coffin was transported across the city, making a ceremonial tour of Rome's historic center including the Colosseum and Roman Forum. In a rare break from tradition, Francis chose not to be buried inside St. Peter's Basilica, like many of his predecessors. Instead, he selected the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome as his final resting place, reports ABC News. President Trump's fashion faux pas at Pope's funeral Unlike the other heads of state who were dressed in black, U.S. President Donald Trump wore a blue suit and blue tie.  By contrast, First Lady Melania Trump wore a black dress and black veil. The official dress code for the funeral at St. Peter's Square in Vatican City required men to wear a dark suit with a black tie and a black button on the left lapel. Women were asked to wear long black dresses, gloves, and a veil. Former Democratic judge harbored El Salvadoran gang member Attorney General Pam Bondi said that one of the three illegal aliens involved in the arrest of a former Democratic New Mexico judge had images of a decapitated victim on his cell phone, reports The Blaze.com. Bondi offered the revelation as evidence that the illegal alien, allegedly harbored by former Judge Jose "Joel" Cano, was a member of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang from El Salvador. In February, Cano resigned from his office after his residence was searched. Last Friday, the former judge was arrested. Democrats have objected to the arrest and accused the Trump administration of abusing government powers.  When Bondi appeared on Fox News, she explained why the judge was arrested. BONDI: “Judge Cano is charged with allegedly giving him assault rifles, AK47s, AR15s, with a suppressor, a known [Tren de Aragua] member, letting him go to a shooting range to refine and perfect his shooting skills.” She added that Judge Cano has been charged with obstruction, saying, “He admitted post-Miranda [that] he took one of the TDA members' cell phones himself —beat it with a hammer, destroyed it, then walked the pieces to a city dumpster to dispose of it to protect him." Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre dies by suicide Virginia Giuffre, the most prominent victim of Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted pedophile, took her own life last Thursday, reports the New York Post. In a statement to NBC News, the 41-year-old's family said, “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia. She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.” Giuffre took legal action against billionaire financier Epstein in 2015, alleging that she was sex trafficked at age 16 after his ex-lover and convicted madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, recruited her from her job as a locker room attendant at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. She is survived by her three children -- Christian, Noah and Emily. The mom of three also alleged she was forced to have relations with disgraced Prince Andrew three times when she was 17 — including at Epstein's Little St. James island, in New Mexico and in Maxwell's London home, where the notorious photo of her posing with King Charles' brother was taken. While Prince Andrew denied the allegations, he settled out of court with his accuser for a hefty $12 million in 2022. Her family told NBC News, “In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.” Jay Leno, whose wife has advanced dementia, honors marital vows And finally, in a new interview on In Depth with Graham Benzinger, comedian Jay Leno, who hosted NBC's The Tonight Show for 20 years, revealed that he's been caring for his wife, Mavis, who has advanced dementia for five years now. LENO: “We've been married 45 years. The first 40 unbelievable, last five have been challenging. When you have to feed someone and change them and, you know, carry them to the bathroom and do all that kind of stuff every day, it's a challenge. Leno referenced his wedding day vow. LENO: “I like taking care of her. When I got married, you sort of take a vow. Will I live up to this or will I be like a sleazy guy or something happens to my wife? That's really what love is. I'm glad I didn't cut and run. I'm glad I didn't run off with some woman half my age, or any of that silly nonsense, you know?” 1 Corinthians 13:4 says, “Love is patient, love is kind. …” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, April 28th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Philip and the Ethiopian Official | Acts 8:35

“So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.” (Acts 8:35 NLT) The New Testament mentions two followers of Jesus named Philip. The first was one of the twelve disciples, the men Jesus handpicked to follow Him. The second was known as Philip the Evangelist. Many Bible scholars believe that Philip the Evangelist was one of the seventy-two men Jesus sent out in Luke 10:1. According to Acts 6:5, Philip the evangelist was one of the original seven deacons in the church at Jerusalem. According to Acts 21:8–9, Paul and Luke stayed at his house for several days when they visited Jerusalem. But the story for which Philip is best known is found in Acts 8. Philip had left Jerusalem to become an evangelist in the city of Samaria, which was located about thirty miles north of Jerusalem. “Crowds listened intently to Philip because they were eager to hear his message and see the miraculous signs he did. Many evil spirits were cast out, screaming as they left their victims. And many who had been paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was great joy in that city” (verses 6–8 NLT). Energized and emboldened by Jesus’ resurrection, Philip fearlessly spread the gospel to people who were hungry for the Good News. One day he received very specific instructions from an angel of the Lord. It seems that an important government official from Ethiopia had traveled to Jerusalem to worship. The official was reading aloud from the book of Isaiah in his carriage on his journey back to Ethiopia but was having difficulty making sense of the text. The angel instructed Philip, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza” (verse 26 NLT)—the road the Ethiopian official was traveling. Philip didn’t question why he was being sent to the middle of nowhere. Incredible things had been happening since Jesus’ resurrection, and he probably saw the assignment as an opportunity to be part of yet another one. He was right. “Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ “The man replied, ‘How can I, unless someone instructs me?’ And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him” (verses 30–31 NLT). The passage he was reading was Isaiah’s prophecy of Jesus being led like a sheep to the slaughter. The official wanted to know who the passage was talking about. He practically invited Philip to share the Good News with him. Philip didn’t need to be told twice. The Ethiopian official was so moved by the gospel message that he asked Philip to baptize him. And then, according to church tradition, he carried the Good News of Christ back to his homeland and started a church there so that countless other lives would be transformed. The Christian faith gained an important foothold in its global spread. All because one man was bold enough to respond to God’s call. If you find yourself in the right place at the right time to share your faith or answer someone’s questions about the Bible, it’s because God put you there, just as He did with Philip. Seize the moment. Be bold. Even a single encounter can change a life—and more. Reflection question: Who might be waiting for you to help them understand the message of the Bible? (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims have killed 170 Christians during Lent and Easter Nigerian Muslims killed 170 Christians during the Lenten season and on Easter Sunday in Nigeria's Middle Belt region, reports International Christian Concern. In Benue State, 72 Christians were confirmed dead following a series of deadly attacks by suspected Fulani Muslim militants between April 18 and April 20. They struck multiple villages in Ukum and Logo Counties during the Holy Weekend, turning what should have been a time of solemn reflection and worship into a scene of terror. Governor Hyacinth Alia, who visited the affected areas, described the massacre as “a calculated and strategic attack on innocent Christian farmers.” He also said, “These were peaceful people observing their Holy Weekend.  The scale and timing of the violence is heartbreaking. We cannot continue like this.” Please pray Amos 5:24 -- that “God's justice would roll on like a river.” Massive Russian strike on Ukraine's capital On Thursday night, Russia attacked Kyiv, Ukraine with an hours-long barrage of missiles and drones, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 70 in its deadliest assault on the Ukrainian capital since last July, reports CBS News. The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia fired 66 ballistic and cruise missiles, four plane-launched air-to-surface missiles, and 145 Shahed and decoy drones at Kyiv and four other regions of Ukraine. On Truth Social, President Donald Trump wrote, "I am not happy with the Russian strikes on Kyiv. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5,000 soldiers a week are dying. Let's get the Peace Deal DONE!" TRUMP: “We're putting a lot of pressure on Russia, and Russia knows that, and some people that are close to it know or he wouldn't be talking right now.” In response to Russia's aggressive strikes in Western Ukraine, NATO has heightened its alert level, placing fighter jets in the "highest state of readiness," reports The Express. Former Brazilian president in ICU Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's health condition has worsened following bowel surgery nearly two weeks ago, his doctors said Thursday, reports MSN.com. The medical team said the former president “experienced a clinical decline, elevated blood pressure and worsening liver lab test results." Bolsonaro underwent a 12-hour surgery on April 13 to remove intestinal adhesions and reconstruct the abdominal wall after the assassination attempt by stabbing in the abdomen during a campaign rally in September 2018. Democrat Senator Dick Durbin, a pro-abort, will not seek re-election Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois made an announcement on Wednesday, DURBIN: “There comes a point in your career when the torch must be passed, and I've reached that point. I will not be seeking re election to this United States Senate seat.” To his shame, Senator Durbin, age 80, has consistently voted to eliminate or prevent protections for the unborn and for children born alive after failed abortions. In addition, Senator Durbin has voted to use hard-earned tax dollars to pay for abortion, including abortion travel expenses. And he has worked to allow radical abortion ideology to be inserted into every facet of the United States Government. Illinois July 4th parade shooter sentenced to life in prison On Thursday, Robert Crimo III, the gunman who killed seven people and injured dozens in a mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, during a July 4th parade in 2022, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, reports ABC News. Judge Victoria Rossetti sentenced Crimo, age 24, to seven consecutive life sentences along with 50 years in prison for each person injured, Judge Rosetti said, "This court hopes this sentence brings a sense of justice and an end to the continued horror." However, the judge ignored God's just standard articulated in Genesis 9:6 which says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God has God made mankind." Max Lucado got a tattoo Max Lucado, the Christian bestselling writer and pastor of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, took to social media to announce he got a tattoo, reports MyChristianDaily.com. Located on his forearm, he chose the word “Tetelestai” which is Greek for “It is finished!” That is what Jesus uttered from the cross when He had paid our sin debt, according to John 19:30. Lucado said, “I'm celebrating the golden anniversary of God's great grace in my life. 50 years ago this spring, grace found me. My testimony is interwoven with my favorite word in the Bible. On the cross, Christ proclaimed,  in Greek, “Tetelestai!” Among the meanings of this word is, ‘paid in full'.” He added, “Not everyone likes the idea of a 70-year-old pastor getting a tattoo. That's ok. I didn't do it for people, I did it to say thank you to Jesus who paid a debt I could not pay.” However, Leviticus 19:28 says, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.” How “In God We Trust” became American motto And finally, on April 22, 1864, the United States informally adopted the motto "In God We Trust."  Conceived during the Civil War, Union supporters wanted to emphasize their attachment to God and to boost morale. The fourth stanza of the U.S. national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner", adopted from the 1814 poem "The Defense of Fort McHenry", contains the line: "And this be our motto—'In God is our trust.'" “In God We Trust” was officially adopted by Congress in 1956, replacing the defacto motto of “E Pluribus Unum” which is Latin for “Out of Many, One.” Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, April 25th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Thursday, April 24th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark India Supreme Court heard appeal about anti-conversion laws India's Supreme Court heard an appeal last week against anti-conversion laws in the country. The advocacy group Citizens for Justice and Peace has filed petitions against such laws since 2020.  Twelve out of India's 28 states have anti-conversion laws. International Christian Concern warns of a “pattern of abuse by Hindu radical groups, who use the laws to initiate false complaints and pressure law enforcement to act against individual Christians and their communities, often without credible evidence.” U.S. military presence in Syria cut in half The United States is preparing to cut its military presence in Syria by half over the coming months. The U.S. military has about 2,000 troops in the Middle Eastern country.  Sean Parnell, the chief spokesman for the Pentagon, said, “Recognizing the success the United States has had against ISIS, including its 2019 territorial defeat under President Trump, today the Secretary of Defense directed the consolidation of U.S. forces in Syria under Combined Joint Task Force.” Trump: 145% tariff on Chinese goods will come down On Tuesday, President Donald Trump said that his 145% tariff on imports from China will likely come down. TRUMP:  145% is very high. It won't be that high. We were talking about fentanyl, where various elements built it up to 145%. No, it won't be anywhere near that high. But it won't be zero. Used to be zero. “We were just destroyed. China was taking us for a ride, and it's not going to happen. We're going to be very good to China. Have a great relationship with President Xi. But they would make billions and billions and billions of dollars a year, and they would build their military out of the United States, and what they made. So that won't happen, but they're going to do very well.” White House spokesman Kush Desai told FOX Business that the U.S. is not looking to unilaterally lower tariffs and that China must a agree to a trade deal.  Trump's Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias meets On Tuesday, Trump administration officials held the inaugural meeting of the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias in the federal government. Attorney General Pamela Bondi hosted the meeting. BONDI:  “As President Trump has stated, the Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses. The President is right. “Biden's Department of Justice abused and targeted Christians. Pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics. The FBI spied on traditional Catholics in their parishes. President Biden declared Easter Sunday to be Transgender Day of Visibility. No longer.” Romans 13:3 says, “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.” 5 million student loan borrowers who stopped paying need to start again The U.S. Department of Education announced Monday that it will resume collections of defaulted federal student loans. The Department has not collected on such loans since 2020. Currently, over 42 million borrowers owe more than $1.6 trillion in student debt. And over five million borrowers have not made a monthly payment in the last three years. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said, “American taxpayers will no longer be forced to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies.” Notorious abortionist closes Colorado abortion mill The oldest and most notorious abortionist in Colorado announced he is closing his abortion mill. Warren Hern, age 86, opened the Boulder Abortion Clinic in 1975, killing thousands of unborn babies since then. In an interview with Channel 9 in Denver two years ago, Hern described his work of killing babies this way. HERN: “I have always felt this is an extremely important service, and there's never been a time when it's less important.” But you get a fuller appreciation of the mindset of abortionist Hern from a speech he gave via video at a Boulder pro-abortion march on July 9, 2022, just days after Roe v. Wade had been overturned on June 22, 2022. HERN: “The Republican Party is the face of fascism in America. Fox News is the voice of fascism in America. The ideology of this fascism is rooted in the white supremacist, Christian nationalist movement that has taken control of the Republican Party. “Your response to this mortal danger to women and to democracy in America must be to support every Democratic candidate for public office and to defeat every single Republican candidate for public office. Nothing else will do.” Troy Newman with Operation Rescue commented on the closure. He said, “Operation Rescue has some thirty years of history with this clinic – everything from activism on the sidewalk, documenting abortion injuries, filing complaints, and other legal efforts to expose wrongdoing. … We cannot praise God enough for the closure of this monstrous killing center.” Proverbs 10:6-7 says, “Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.” Definition of a regular churchgoer A recent study from Lifeway Research found 53% of U.S. adults consider someone a regular churchgoer if they attend services at least weekly. A previous study found a similar amount of Protestant churchgoers agree. However, only 16% of Protestant pastors say that regular churchgoers attend at least once a week. Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “Pastors … are seeing churchgoers attend less often. But when Americans hear ‘regular churchgoer,' they picture someone attending every week or very close to it.” 18.6 million engaged with YouVersion Bible on Resurrection Sunday And finally, the YouVersion Bible app saw a record 18.6 million people engaging with Scripture on Resurrection Sunday this year. That's up 11% compared to last year. Leading up to Resurrection Sunday, Bible engagement increased by over 20% across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Bobby Gruenewald, the CEO of YouVersion Bible app, said they're seeing more interest in the Bible on other days too: “many of our record days for engagement have happened on seemingly ordinary days this year, with no specific reason for the spikes -- except that God is on the move.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, April 24th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
