Lesson #11 for Saturday, June 13, 2026 Growing in a Relationship With God Adult Sabbath School Lesson 2nd Quarter, 2026
After the House voted to direct Donald Trump to end the Iran war, he exploded at the four Republicans who turned against him, terming them “grandstanders” who “should be ashamed of themselves.” This comes as The New York Times reports that extensive internal war games among military officials established that Iran would react to an attack by closing the Strait of Hormuz—which Trump ignored. And incredibly, officials just leaked to The Atlantic that Trump is privately “irritated” by commentary casting his emerging framework as weaker than Barack Obama's 2015 nuclear deal. Trump also wants a way to argue that Iran “accepted terms from him that Obama never managed to extract.” We talked to former National Security Council veteran Emily Horne, author of the Spin Class Substack. We discuss how all those leaks themselves signal Trump's growing weakness, why his demand for a “better” deal than Obama's may be hopeless, and whether that leaves us any way out of this fiasco. In today's episode, I share why giving isn't about money, but about creating value and allowing others the opportunity to help. I talk about losing over $100 million, why that experience became one of the greatest gifts of my life, and how every problem already contains a solution waiting to be discovered. We discuss shortening the distance between setbacks and resolutions, learning from mistakes, and getting back to center when life knocks you off course. I also answer audience questions about receiving help, making meaningful introductions, handling opportunities without fear, and pursuing your potential with devotion instead of relying solely on discipline.

Importantly, he argues that this is true at both a personal and organization level. In our conversation today we discuss how those who are achievement oriented often have a hard time digesting this reality, how bosses and Boards of Directors can create environments where failure is tolerated but not necessarily actively encouraged, the role that egos tend to play in organizational failures, what a good post-mortem and pre-mortem sounds like, what “learning” from a failure actually looks like at a highly tactical level, why success can breed over-confidence and blind spots (including how to spot common warning signs in advance), and how to balance the importance of persistence with the wisdom of knowing when it's time to make a change.

Shoot us a Text.Episode #1354: Today we talk about Mazda trying to define what the brand actually stands for, Ford battling yet another F-150 production headache while inventory stays tight, and Ferrari shocking enthusiasts with a futuristic $640k EV designed alongside former Apple design legend Jony Ive.Show Notes with links:Mazda's U.S. CEO says the brand's biggest challenge isn't product, pricing, or even tariffs—it's clarity. As Mazda pushes toward 500,000 annual U.S. sales, Tom Donnelly says dealers will play the starring role in making the brand more distinctive and desirable.Mazda has hovered around 400,000 U.S. sales for two years and believes stronger brand identity is the path to 500,000 units.Dealers were challenged to rethink customer experience with shorter processes, stronger relationships, and what Mazda calls a more “sticky” ownership experience.Donnelly emphasized affordability as a major opportunity, noting Mazda's average transaction price is around $39,000 compared to the industry average above $51,000.Tariffs, incentives, and shifting production have pressured profitability, but Mazda says strategic moves like shifting Mazda3 sedan production to Japan helped improve earnings.“If you walked out of this hotel and asked 10 people what Mazda stands for, you'd get 10 different answers. That is my keeps-me-up-at-night thing.” — Tom Donnelly, CEO of Mazda North American Operations.Ford finally started climbing out of its F-150 inventory hole after last year's aluminum supplier fire… and then a broken hood die shut the line down again. The pause may only last a few days, but when you're already 60,000 trucks behind, every hour matters.Ford paused F-150 production late last week after a hood die reportedly broke at a nearby stamping plant that forms the truck's aluminum hood panels. The Dearborn plant was expected to sit idle Thursday night through at least Saturday, with Memorial Day potentially stretching the shutdown to four days. With two 10-hour shifts running daily, the downtime could cost Ford roughly 2,500 trucks at a time when inventory is already down more than 40% year-over-year.Ford is reportedly considering “super Saturday” or “super Sunday” shifts to claw back lost production and keep dealers supplied heading into summer truck season.Ferrari officially pulled the cover off its first fully electric vehicle, the Luce, and let's just say… the internet has thoughts. Designed with former Apple design chief Jony Ive, the $640,000 EV swaps engine roar for amplified sound and tradition for experimentation. The Ferrari Luce is the brand's first EV and first-ever five-seat Ferrari, using four electric motors to hit 0–60 in under 2.5 seconds with a top speed above 190 mph.Ferrari partnered with legendary Apple designer Jony Ive, creating a glass-heavy, ultra-minimal interior meant to feel more “analog” than tech gadget.Ferrari says range wasn't the priority, with the Luce targeting about 330 miles despite its massive battery pack.Online reactions were… spicy. Many enthusiasts blasted the design for straying too far from Ferrari tradition, while Ferrari shares dropped roughly 6% after the reveal.“As a car becomes electric, it doesn't mean that it needs to be a consumer electronics object.” — Ferrari Chairman John ElkannJoin Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier every morning for the Automotive State of the Union podcast as they connect the dots across car dealerships, retail trends, emerging tech like AI, and cultural shifts—bringing clarity, speed, and people-first insight to automotive leaders navigating a rapidly changing industry.Get the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/
You know what you should do. You're just not doing it. The gym bag is by the door. The draft is open on your screen. The email's been sitting there for three days. And somewhere underneath all of it is the same quiet assumption running the show: that you have to feel like it first. That motivation comes before action. What if that's backwards? That's the premise behind Morita therapy, and it's the reason this conversation with Gregg Krech might rearrange how you think about getting things done. Gregg is the Executive Director of the ToDo Institute, a Naikan education and retreat center in Vermont.. He is also the author of several books, including: "Naikan: Gratitude, Grace, and the Japanese Art of Self-Reflection," "A Natural Approach to Mental Wellness," "The Art of Taking Action," and "Question Your Life." For nearly thirty years Gregg has been teaching an approach called Morita therapy developed a century ago by a Japanese psychiatrist to treat severe anxiety, and it offers a genuinely different way of dealing with the feelings that stop us. Here's the core of it. When we have a difficult feeling, like anxiety, depression, anger, or the urge to quit, we think we have two options: express it or suppress it. Morita therapy offers a third. Acceptance. You coexist with the feeling, and you take action anyway. In this conversation we get into how you actually build that skill, not as a concept, but as something you train like free throws or piano. We cover why motivation is optional, what the maxim "lead with the body" means, why the smartest people often get the most stuck, and how to use your attention to relieve suffering in real time. We talk about recovering from real setbacks like job loss and divorce, and end on a surprisingly freeing idea about indecision: why what you do after you decide matters far more than the decision itself. Some highlights from the episode: 02:36 Origins of Morita Therapy 06:39 The third options 10:48 Thoughts vs actions 13:31 Purpose and feelings 17:24 Practice restraint and action 21:37 Directors vs actors 24:20 Willpower 27:27 Motivation and optionality 29:09 Lead with your body 30:38 Setbacks 33:29 Attention 35:37 Meditation 41:00 Breath practice 45:31 Resistance 48:24 Exercises over maxims 55:22 Indecision and commitment Enjoy! Hey Team! Today I'm sitting down with Ron Capalbo, known to many as @adhd_ron on the socials. I've gotten to know Ron at a number of ADHD conferences and had a great time at Neurodiversion talking with him about Dungeon Crawler Carl and figured it was time to have him on the pod. Ron is an AACC-certified coach through the ADD Coach Academy who specializes in strengths-based development and helping adults navigate the messy "shame cycle" that so often accompanies an ADHD diagnosis. He's spent years building a community focused on honoring unique brain chemistry rather than fighting a losing battle against it. In today's episode, we explore the "why" behind our perfectionism and how the fear of complacency often keeps us from being proud of our progress. Ron breaks down how to identify your brain's unique operating system, the value of the elevator pitch for self-confidence, and why hitting a seven when you started at a two is actually a massive win, even if your brain is trying to convince you it's a failure. If you'd life to follow along on the show notes page you can find that at HackingYourADHD.com/297 YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/y835cnrk Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HackingYourADHD This Episode's Top Tips Try out the 2-versus-9 scale for Expectation Management. We often fail to start because we set the entry-level bar at a 9 (like, cooking 7 nights a week), which can often feel impossible. If instead we intentionally lower our aim to something that's more like a 2, we bypass the brain's "frozen" state and create a low-friction path to initiation. All right, this is a long one, but it's worth it. Many of us with ADHD actively avoid giving ourselves credit because we've been conditioned to fear that if we're satisfied, it will lead to complacency. Mechanically, however, withholding credit creates a narrative vacuum in our operating system - our brain assumes it just didn't happen. It looks at everything left to do, decides we're failing, and triggers a total system freeze, what Ron calls a "cement wall". The fix here isn't forcing toxic positive affirmations your brain knows are fake. It just takes factual data entry. Take a second to acknowledge that you moved from a level one to a level two. You're not throwing yourself a parade; you're just hitting "Save" so your brain has the baseline level to keep moving forward without crashing. Setbacks are inevitable, but the duration of the setback is determined by your level of self-shame. Implementing a grace period or a mental hug isn't about being soft; it's a strategic tool to reduce the time spent in a frozen state and get back to baseline faster.

You've got the idea. You've got the drive. So why isn't your side hustle working? In this episode, I'm breaking down the real reason most side hustles die within the first six months — and it's not what you think. It's not the economy. It's not bad timing. It's not even competition. It's something most people never stop to fix, and it's killing their momentum before they ever reach the tipping point.I'm pulling from my own journey — building Motana Speed LLC, running federal contracting bids, launching two plantain chip brands across Texas, building this podcast from zero — to show you exactly where the breakdown happens and the one thing that flips everything. If you've ever felt like you're pushing hard but going nowhere, this episode is for you.In this episode you'll learn:Why most side hustles fail before month sixThe boulder analogy that explains exactly where your momentum diesThe three silent killers destroying your side hustle right nowWhat the tipping point actually is — and how to know when you've crossed itThe one thing you need to have locked in before anything else mattersThis is your sign to stop dabbling and start building.
Part three of the "Blessed!" series. During Honor Sunday, Pastor Chris continues the series on the BLESSING OF GOD. He shows from the story of Joseph how God can take you from SETBACKS to SETUPS and bring blessing into your life.
This week we were joined by four time overall boulder world cup winner Natalia Grossman. Natalia is in the thick of an unfortunate set of injuries, having initially ruptured her ACL she now has picked up a nasty shoulder injury. Despite these debilitating setbacks she came back and won American nationals! On the face of it that sounds like an amazing comeback story but there's a lot more going on behind the scenes! If you're enjoying the podcast and would like to support us, please consider checking out our Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70353823Support the show

In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan delivers fresh intelligence from the war with Iran, explaining why President Trump's naval blockade appears to be working as satellite data shows Iran's key oil export facilities sitting empty and the regime warning its own people to prepare for major economic pain. He breaks down how Iran's collapsing oil exports, skyrocketing inflation, and growing layoffs are increasing pressure on Tehran, even as the IRGC ramps up attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and China continues moving weapons to Iran through hidden routes. Bryan also highlights growing cooperation between Israel and Gulf Arab nations, including secret coordination with the UAE, while warning listeners to be cautious about leaked U.S. intelligence reports that may be shaped by Deep State politics rather than solid evidence. Plus, Bryan turns to the redistricting fight in southern states, arguing that Republicans in Mississippi, Louisiana, and South Carolina are getting weak-kneed at the worst possible moment as Democrats push radical policies on immigration, transgender procedures for children, welfare fraud, and socialist control. He closes with good medical news on the Hantavirus, falling U.S. overdose deaths, peppermint oil as a possible low-cost blood pressure aid, and a new wearable "polygraph" device that tracks whole-body stress in real time. Send us Fan MailI want to ask you a powerful question today: Whose report will you believe?Because the truth is the report you believe is shaping your life.Your thoughts.Your expectations.Your actions.Your future. And so many people are living under reports that were never meant to define them.Maybe it's what your family said.Maybe it's what your past looks like.Maybe it's the circumstances you're walking through right now.“Nothing ever works for me.”“This is just how life is.”“I'll never get ahead.”But what if those aren't truth? In this episode, I'm talking about the battle for your mind and why the greatest work you'll ever do is the transformation of your inner life.Because whatever controls your thinking…eventually controls your life. And if you constantly rehearse failure, fear, limitation, and defeat—you'll start building your life around those expectations. But if you begin to align yourself with truth, possibility, and faith…everything starts to shift. We talk about:Why your mindset is shaping your futureHow daily habits reveal what you actually believeThe difference between believing circumstances vs believing truthWhy Joshua and Caleb saw opportunity when everyone else saw defeatAnd how to keep walking when life feels hardBecause here's what I know: Every storm eventually runs out of rain. And if you don't quit…you will see breakthrough.I know some of you listening are walking through really difficult things right now.Loss. Delay. Fear. Setbacks. But I want you to remember this:God is still working. And what feels like a setback today may be the very thing building strength, impact, and purpose inside of you for tomorrow. So this week, I want you to pay attention to the report you're agreeing with.Is it fear?Limitation?Defeat?Or is it truth?Because the report you believe will determine the life you build
