EPISODE 282 - We finish our coverage of John Byrne's FF with the issue where Sue Richards changes her name from The Invisible Girl to The Invisible Woman. It's a fine issue that mostly features She-Hulk breaking out of Psycho-Man's fear spell. We also learn the story of Pearla, Queen of the Microverse! We give some closing thoughts on John Byrne. For a good John Byrne issue, and there were many you got: strong confident storytelling, exciting purposeful battles, clearly told stories, a strong command of where your eye goes, and what your heart wants to know. Byrne in the 80s was iconic, truly one of the best and most popular creators in America. The shortcomings: his art starts to get sketchier as he strives to produce more. His faces look... honestly, the same? It's almost strange how that DOESN'T hurt the story telling. He gets more and more about the references. Although funny, he's best when he isn't doing a book which is billed as comedic first and foremost. But for the FF, he revitalized the comic, giving Kirby's creations an often upgraded portrayal. Next season: Peter Milligan's run on The Human Target

This week I wanted to talk about a comic I loved as and kid and still hold near and dear to my heart, Micronauts. I go over the masterpiece that is issue #1 by Bill Mantlo, Michael Golden, and other. They crafted an amazing first chapter to the series. Micronauts will return in a Marvel Omnibus coming out early next year and I can't wait, to reread the whole series and do some episodes about it. Let me know what you think about that. This week, we spoke to Marcus Dyer, Flipside's group managing director, and learnt all about the impressive digital transformation agency. Flipside do all things digital, from traditional digital events to web3 spaces. They create an expansive range of work for their clients, from fun gamified experiences to important AR content for pharma use cases. We discussed the microverse, and the pros of having a controllable, accessible place where colleagues can interact in a better and more spontaneous way. This 3D content doesn't have barriers, like crypto concerns, making people more connected than ever before. Marcus touched upon the growth of interest in web3, which has increased young people's adept skill in the tech space, meaning that new generations find the metaverse easier to navigate and are interested in digital products- spending money on things like gaming add-ons. We also talked about the competitive advantages for clients, that will grow the more they embrace new technology and invest in measurable data in both the online and physical event space. The future seems to continue on this path of rapid change, and, with the commodification of new tech, more possibilities will soon enter our realm of reality.

Futurized goes beneath the trends to track the underlying forces of disruption in tech, policy, business models, social dynamics and the environment. Futurized prepares YOU to think about how to deal with the next decade's disruption, so you can succeed and thrive no matter what happens. In this episode of the podcast, the topic is: Free Education Until You Start Your Career. Our guest is Ariel Camus, CEO and co-founder of Microverse. In this conversation, they talk about trust, the essence of education, scaling learning. If you're new to the show, seek particular topics, or you are looking for a great way to tell your friends about the show, which we always appreciate, we've got the episode categories. I hope you can also leave a positive review on iTunes or in your favorite podcast player--it really matters to the future of this podcast. Trond's takeaway We will always discuss what is at the heart of education and learning, it is an ever evolving thing that humans care deeply about. How to organize it matters a lot, especially in a resource-constrained environment. The need for scarce talent, particularly in engineering is such that new business models are bound to be explored. Why would parents be the only group investing in educating talent? It might make more sense that governments, lenders, or employers invest, or that students invest in themselves, with collateral in their own IQ or career trajectory. It's an exciting future for young people if these opportunities globalize for every motivated student anywhere. Thanks for listening. I'm your host, Trond Arne Undheim (@trondau), futurist, author, investor, and serial entrepreneur. Join me as I discuss the societal impact of deep tech such as AI, blockchain, IoT, nanotech, quantum, robotics, and synthetic biology, and tackle topics such as entrepreneurship, trends, or the future of work. On the show, I interview smart people with a soul: founders, authors, executives, and other thought leaders, or even the occasional celebrity. Futurized is a bi-weekly show, preparing YOU to think about how to deal with the next decade's disruption, so you can succeed and thrive no matter what happens. In this episode of the podcast, the topic is: How Tech Companies Reinvent Themselves. Our guest is Matt Hughes, U.S. High-Tech Industry Sales Leader. In this conversation, they talk about high tech industry partnerships, open ecosystems, consumer trends, the Microverse, and predicting the role of technology in society. If you're new to the show, seek particular topics, or you are looking for a great way to tell your friends about the show, which we always appreciate, we've got the episode categories. Trond's takeaway Tech companies need to reinvent themselves as much as people do. Nothing remains constant. The tricky thing is to combine technological breakthroughs with the kinds of user interfaces that allure consumers and business users. To stay in tune with industry trends is itself challenging, but necessary in order to partner and deliver experiences together, which is the reality of the high tech industry these days.] Thanks for listening. Companies have rapidly embracing the idea of a truly distributed global workforce, and opportunities to work from anywhere are now common. Great talent is everywhere, but many companies still tend to hire from the same tech hub talent pools like San Francisco, London, or Toronto. While there are skilled workers in developing countries, too, hiring in emerging markets like Nigeria or Argentina can come with its own unique new set of challenges. In this episode, Rhys sits down with Ariel Camus, the founder and CEO of Microverse, an online school that teaches people all around the world how to program in multiple software languages with a unique focus on how to work remotely. Ariel shares his perspective on how remote work is opening the borders to emerging talent hotbeds, as well as key insights into the challenges some face finding opportunities in their country of birth. We talk about Ant Man and the things you missed if you never read the comics. Learn about the Pym particle, Scott Lang, Yellowjacket, Janet Van Dyke, the Microverse, Edgar Wright, and more! Talk with us on Twitter. Links from the discussion… The Pym particle can alter the size and mass of things and bypasses the laws of physics. Scott Lang's origin in the comics is very similar to what we see in the MCU. Chekhov's gun is a principle that means if you have something in one act, that thing should have an impact in a later act. Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, Ph.D was the original Ant Man and later on Yellowjacket in the comicbooks. Janet Van Dyne is the Wasp and a founding member of the Avengers. Hank Pym was abusive to his wife in the comics around the time he was Yellowjacket. Cassie Lang became Stinger and a member of the Young Avengers. Apparently the Microverse was thought to exist within atoms but was later written as a parallel dimension.

Mike will dive into the various villainous obstacles placed in Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne's way, rather than an actual villain for the movie. Pat will trace the history of Bill Foster, Ghost, Egghead (yeah, he's in this) within the comics, while also breaking down why we're not allowed to call the Quantum Realm by it's true comic name - The Microverse. Reshaping Education - Higher Ed, Online Education, Bootcamps, ISAs, and More
Wes Wagner and I discuss his journey going from growth at Microverse to starting Pactero, a platform for issuing Income Share Agreements. In addition, we dive deep into our experiences with higher education and how institutions are failing to properly align incentives between their programs and their students.
When the first developer bootcamps appeared, no one could foresee the impact they would have in society henceforth. A few years later, we have seen their huge influence in making the software development world more accessible to a broader percentage of population, and their efforts to help underrepresented groups cannot be overlooked. As it happens, there's always both sides of the coin, and whilst most of them are created with good intentions, others have simply been created as a business opportunity to milk the tech market even further, and they're contributing to corrupting the model. To talk about this - and more - we hosted Ariel Camús (CEO @ Microverse), one of our favourite bootcamps. Microverse has been founded on very strong moral values and a solid company culture, which feeds from the likes of Gitlab, Basecamp and Buffer, just to name a few. We discussed with Ariel how to avoid losing value with scale, building a dev bootcamp using no-code tools, their techstack, their role in society, a bit of social mobility and much more!

When I started traveling and working remotely I kept thinking is this just a phase? Or will I eventually have to go back to the U.S. and start a "real" career? Then I met today’s guest, Wes Wagner, and he proved to me you absolutely can.Wes is a 24-year-old startup founder who typically splits his time between Indianapolis in the U.S and Medellín, Colombia. When I met Wes two years ago in Medellín, he was 22-years old, fresh out of college, and spearheading marketing for a silicon-valley based startup called Microverse. Last year he went through Y Combinator, the most prestigious startup accelerator in the world. Now he’s combining all that experience to start his own tech company. What I love about Wes is that he lives a life that bridges many cultures and communities. Simultaneously, He’s a Spanish-speaking lover of Latin America, he’s plugged into the Silicon Valley tech scene, and he’s a self-described “family man” that loves the Indianapolis 500, boating, and mudding. Wes believes you can have an incredible career while living abroad, and that you can plug in with world-class communities regardless of your physical location. In this episode, he explains how. Does she remember being Harbinger? WHERE IS WALLY????????????????? Where is Cisco and the others? Article cited at bottom states, “Maybe one day we will tell that story,” Guggenheim hedges, “but again, all of those actors need to be paid, and they need to be paid a crossover rate that is above and beyond their episodic rate. That forces us to make hard financial choices that unfortunately occasionally drive the creative choices.” • Roses o SP - Never been done before over this many shows and this many episodes o Chris Combining earths opens some cool opportunities. Justice League formation is awesome. BEEBO! Everyone loves Beebo Sara gets heavily featured and proven that as Captain she's already a leader of people. Makes sense she would lead the group. I literally cheered when i saw him in suit on screen again. o Michelle OMG they combined all the current CW DC shows (Stargirl on her own Earth) Sara in charge; given great moments: leading fight w/Beebo, heart-to-heart w/Barry; coordinating fight w/Anti-Monitor and shadow demons; speech to Anti-Monitor - For Oliver! Ariel Camus is the Founder and CEO at Microverse, a YC-backed distributed school for software engineers. They are available anywhere in the world, and they don’t charge students anything until they get hired. In this episode, we talk about why remote workers are so much better at documentation than co-located workers, the practices that help hiring managers hire remote junior developers, and how Ariel launched a coding school without writing a single line of code.

It's Spankin' Time Hello, and welcome to episode 333 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. This week we're back in the realms of Marvel Two-in-One, as an extended cast (including Starhawk, Moondragon, Her, and Alicia Masters) make their way to Counter-Earth. Well, they would do, if some bastards hadn't towed the bloody thing away, forcing them to resurrect the High Evolutionary to work out where it's gone. All this for a shag... Mark Gruenwald, Jerry Bingham, Gene Day, George Roussos, Joe Rosen, Jim Salicrup, Jim Shooter, George Perez, and Joe Sinnott present Marvel Two-in-One #62 - The Taking Of Counter-Earth, in which Counter-Earth is taken, Starhawk reveals his secret power, and Moondragon receives some corporal punishment. Yes, it's time for us to look at a spanking! As well as this, we linger in the Microverse for Micronauts #16, and head into the multiverse for a brief look at What If? #20. Or are the cracks in the ant hill beginning to show? All we know is that it's a lot of fun to try and count how many times Scott calls the Sokovia Accords the "Soviet Accords". Irresistible Fiction 2: Utter Bullshit Almost a century ago, scientists searched to find the smallest particle of matter in the microverse. Instead, they found puzzles and funhouse reflections. Deep down inside the atom, things got strange, and even Albert Einstein tried to sweep it all under the rug. But that strangeness at the core of the atom sat under that metaphorical rug, and waited. Every once and awhile, we lifted the corner of the rug and picked out little bits of quantum strangeness that suited our needs. But most of it, we avoided as improbable, waiting for another Einstein to sort it all out for us. Bullshit, my friends, is on the rise, and reaching historic levels. Across the multiverse, it appears that all of those little bits of quantum strangeness have reached critical mass. The pent up quantum strangeness appears to have begun to release itself in historic, multi-cosmic waves of bullshit. There has been a surge in first, and second term Trump presidencies across an infinite number of worlds. In a dark, and frightening swath of the unending abyss, Trump has seized power in America as a warrior king, leading literal packs of wolves from Wall Street. The infrastructure in place, to protect against the build-up of bullshit is old and weak. In a frightening array of worlds, the bullshit flood is topping walls that have stood solid for centuries. If Trump is President in your world, know that you are currently experiencing historic levels of bullshit. Unfortunately, we can’t say for sure when you can hope to reach peak bullshit. Until bullshit levels return to normal, please use common sense as much a possible. Eventually, we are afraid, the whole multi-cosmos will be awash in bullshit. Then, and only then, will we be able to come to terms with what scared Albert Einstein. But, that’s for another episode. In the meantime, a little uncertainty will be good for us all. Bill Murray: “It just doesn’t matter.” That’s Bill Murray, chanting at the end of this episode. The clip his from his role as a summer camp counselor who helps a boy come to terms with his terminal cancer. Murray won the best supporting actor Oscar in the 1979 tear-jerker, Meatball Stew.
