When I tell people what we eat, their first response is... "That sounds pretty restricted!" After which I ask them what they had for breakfast today? "Cereal." And the day prior? "Cereal." How about for the foreseeable future? "Cereal." You get the idea. Most people are already eating a fairly restricted diet, only with poor food choices! So, what the heck do we, at Life By Design, eat ourselves? On today's episode of Life By Design we cover that question and answer a few more. What We Cover How many different food types will you find in an A+ diet? Why Mike's (yes I said Mike, he made a return to the show) situation may be unique and what you can still learn from it. Most people know "what" to eat but still fail to follow guidelines...why? What Jamie eats. What Mike eats.

On today’s show, Mike Smerklo, Managing Director of Next Coast Ventures, talks about his journey scaling a small business into a publicly traded company worth nearly a billion dollars. He shares how imposter syndrome survives our successes — even big ones like raising capital and doing an IPO — and what we can do to get the "monkey" off our back. We’ll do a deep dive into the mechanics of his rounds of financing and share tips on managing and treating customers, creating value, how to get your team on board, and why he’d never make a deal without tying equity to both sides of the table. Mike has achieved 40% year-over-year, so this is an episode you don’t want to miss. My big takeaway from this episode is, even someone as successful as Mike (with all of his achievements), the fact that he still second-guesses his success is proof that we’re all human. You should recognize that the things that you intentionally accomplish over time is well deserved. A really clear plan will help dissolve that impostor syndrome. Education is another thing that will help dismiss and get rid of impostor syndrome and will ensure that you’re living and working intentionally. What You Will Learn In Today's Podcast Interview Mike’s background and story How poorly a “must be nice” mindset serves you and how to break out of that head space. Why Mike hates the phrase “fake it ‘til you make it” and what he believes people should do instead. Not all experts are the type of expert you need and you have to be able to identify what specific expertise you’re looking for. The incredible value in having a coach, no matter what stage you’re at. Why he chose the search fund model over all the others. How his company managed the ups and downs of the tech market, including the ways he had to raise cash during the downturn of 2008. When you should tie equity to performance on both sides of the deal table. The pragmatic way of looking at sprucing up your business and how it compares to renovating a house. The benefits of having a “maniacal focus” on customers. Mike’s three questions for evaluating how well you’re treating your customers. Why your executive team needs to stand up for what they’re talking about and how that gets reflected in your company. How Mike and his team determined to go IPO and gained consensus. Are You Growing The Value of Your Business Take The 2-Minute Assessment To Get Your Intentional Growth Score™ And 1-Page Vision Board. Are your company's current initiatives intentionally designed to increase the value of the business? Do you know what you want from your business long term and why? Do you know what your company is worth? Do you know the differences between Management, Family Transitions, PE Firms, ESOPs and Strategic Buyers? Does the business have a written strategic plan on how to achieve the desired normalized EBITDA and valuation? About the Guest: Mike Smerklo is an experienced entrepreneur, investor and business leader driven by the desire to turn ideas into reality. Having bought and scaled a small business into a publicly traded company worth nearly a billion dollars in value, he has a deep understanding of the hard work, dedication and grit that truly powers successful entrepreneurship. Today, as the co- founder and managing director of Next Coast Ventures,
On today’s show, we have Mike Smerklo, author of Mr. Monkey and Me: A Real Survival Guide for Entrepreneurs and co-founder of the VC firm Next Coast Ventures, which helps the best entrepreneurs in the world as they build disruptive businesses. The team at Next Coast Ventures has raised over $7 billion in capital and created exit values of over $30 billion. He’ll share the mindset that brought him success, how he gained it and what he learned along the way. I’m excited to have him on the show because most people think what he’s accomplished is out of reach, and that’s just not the case. We’ll do a deep dive into the mechanics of his three rounds of financing so you can see just how doable it is. Listen for tips on managing and treating customers, the benefits of going IPO and how to get your team on board, and why he’d never make a deal without tying equity to both sides of the table. Learn how to overcome your deepest fears, find happiness, and achieve your dream career and lifestyle with Mike Corey, Host of The BBC Travel Show and YouTube’s Fearless and Far. Five years ago, Mike made the decision to quit his safe and secure (but boring) job to pursue his dream of making travel videos. His choice paid off and now he’s here to share how he did it so you can, too. In this episode of Badass Digital Nomads, Mike and Kristin break down the mindset shifts required to overcome the different fears holding you back from pursuing a lifestyle beyond the mainstream. They also speak on the challenges of full-time travel, especially during COVID, and discuss why the world’s most dangerous countries are actually much safer than you’d think! At the end of the interview, Kristin asks Mike two questions he's never been asked on a podcast before. Then, he shares his candid thoughts on travel versus luxury tourism, the best off-the-radar countries he’s been to in the world (out of 80+ countries), and few times that he truly felt his life was in danger while traveling (like that one time, at a Mexican fireworks festival...) If you’re determined to overcome what's been holding you back, uncover the best version of yourself, and get a major dose of travel inspiration, buckle in for the ride and let's do this! Realizing the broken system in how the society operates in terms of education, race, and business opportunities, “Iron” Mike has designed an ecosystem of boxing and entrepreneurship as a way to uplift young men and women of color in Newark. His goal of creating champions both inside and outside of the ring not just built an opportunity to generate income with the brand through their corporate wellness offerings but also provided entrepreneurial education to inner-city youth and young adults across the country. Today’s edition of the Knucklehead Podcast, Stephen will have a transparent conversation with today’s guest, “IRON” Mike Steadman. Seeing the gap between boxing and the opportunities that come with it, Mike will share his process about how he uses boxing to make a positive impact and uplift the lives of the people in poor communities. “IRON” Mike Steadman is the CEO and Founder of IRONBOUND Boxing and oversees all aspects of their corporate and community activities. Mike is a three-time National Collegiate Boxing Champion from the United States Naval Academy and was a Marine Corps Infantry Officer, with deployments to Afghanistan and Japan/Philippines. IRONBOUND Boxing is a health and wellness company in the NYC Metro Area. They connect companies, organizations, and communities with on-site boxing instructors. Their goal is to use the transformative powers of boxing to create champions both inside and outside of the ring. As an organization, they’re committed to providing free amateur boxing training, entrepreneurial education, and employment opportunities to inner-city youth & young adults. Enjoy! In This Episode 3:20 - Backstory of “IRON” Mike Steadman 6:51 - Some of the mistakes he made during the early phase of corporate boxing 9:21 - Why Mike felt that boxing was the way to connect with his audience 12:23 - His opinion on why we tend to hear about what makes us different rather than what we share in common 16:40 - The beauty of boxing gym in the inner city 18:36 - The difference between somebody who wins and someone who always wins 22:42 - Instances where problems cannot be solved because they originated from the system itself 28:30 - One of the core values of Ironbound Boxing 31:30 - Mike's biggest screw up Favorite Quotes "I wasted so much time, energy on the negative self-talk telling myself I'm not a systems guy and all this kind of stuff. And then finally just having a peer group that supports you, and then you're like, man I could have been doing this all along." - Mike "Our goal is not to create champions just in the ring, we want to carry them out of the ring as well." - Mike "One of the mistakes I made early on with corporate boxing was I didn't validate the business model. A lot of times we try to force stuff on the marketplace. But before we commit to it and build a business around it, can you validate that someone is willing to pay you for that product or service before you launch. I didn't do that with corporate boxing." - Mike "I found that boxing was my community. I go into a boxing gym, there's a bunch of people that look like me. We have this amazing sport that's touching youth in the poorest of poor communities all across the country." - Mike "Boxing is a grimy, gritty sport in the hood. But we can be entrepreneurs, we can go to college, and we can do whatever we want." - Mike "On the other side of that pain and struggle is typically something significantly, more valuable than you trying to avoid whatever pain or struggle you were going through before." - Stephen "I love how you kind of systematized how boxing leads to a more robust or versatile context, switching opportunities for folks who come from relatively low income areas. And I admire that you're doing that for kids and you recognize it as an opportunity to actually instill entrepreneurial values or individual responsibility by teaching them something like boxing because it's gritty." - Stephen "I think a lot of times, we're trying to force this stuff, the tutoring program and all this stuff. But at the end of the day, kids are human beings too. They're trying to survive and thrive. Box and teach them how to defend themselves, protect themselves, survivors thrive." - Mike "Boxing is part of my core and it just allows me to be innovative." - Mike "Solving the problem isn't necessarily oriented through the lens of race in my opinion. It's the approach of looking at people as they’re people and recognizing the environment. Meet people where they're at." - Stephen "It's the rehabilitation process of helping somebody escape that mindset and getting into this individual responsibility mindset. That's the problem that we're trying to solve." - Stephen "One thing we've got to realize too is I think a lot of times you can't solve problems with the solutions and the systems that created them in the first place." - Mike "The reality is, different cultures have different needs." - Mike Get in touch with “IRON” Mike Steadman LinkedIn Ironbound Boxing Confessions Of A Native Son Podcast Knucklehead Podcast is brought to you by Manscaped- Use the Promo Code: KNUCKLEHEAD for 20% Off Grab your COVID 19 survivor T-shirt HERE Connect with Knucklehead Media Group Website https://knucklehead.agency/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/knuckleheadmg Twitter https://twitter.com/knuckleheadmg Instagram https://www.instagram.com/knucklehead_mg Knucklehead Media Group is your “push button” for podcasts. Vigor Life Podcast · EP122: The Art Of Nutrition Coaching And Getting Clients Results w/ Dr. Mike Roussell Dr. Mike Roussell is one of my go-to people when I have questions about nutrition. Dr. Mike is famous for transforming complex nutritional concepts into practical nutritional habits that his clients can use to ensure permanent weight loss and long-lasting health. He holds a degree in biochemistry from Hobart College and a doctorate in nutrition from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Mike’s academic background, coupled with his broad range of experience consulting with pharmaceutical and food companies, medical schools, top-rated fitness facilities, professional athletes, and individual clients, gives him the unique ability to translate scientific findings into relevant, understandable, and actionable strategies that get results. As a scientist, his research has been published multiple times in the world's premiere clinical nutrition journal, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Mike oversees the optimization of the health, nutrition, and performance of a range of clientele from professional athletes, to celebrities, to Fortune 500 executives. He is also a sought after continuing educator, speaking across the country to physicians, dieticians, nurses, and other health professionals on the most recent advances in the nutritional treatments for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and weight loss. In this episode, we dive into the art of nutrition coaching and what really works in the real world. We break down principles, science, and examples of client obstacles and how to help overcome them. IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN How Mike discovered the importance of the consultation and the art of coaching and why it was so different from so many “studies in the lab.” From bodybuilding to sports nutrition, Mike had a skewed view of what would work in the real world with real people (especially in the busy New York culture). His dives into why. Why writing for T-Nation and diving into the minutia of nutrition doesn’t carry over to people training 3x a week for 5 minutes working to change their body. How Mike would discover the truth from clients in the last 5 minutes of an hour-long consultation and how it helped him hone his skill as a coach. What is “Nutrition Speed Dating’ and how Mike was able to learn to build rapport and discover the obstacle in the way of people's success. A key principle to getting results: discovering where the client sees themselves and where they are trying to go. The reason you can’t shock clients with huge changes when they think they are doing ok (this is KEY with many clients, tune in!) When to coach with more structure and challenge, and when to reel it back in; and the reason why Mike will fly across the country to meet clients face-to-face. Asking questions to discover where the client’s skillsets are, is critical to being able to give them the best “next steps.” How you may be setting up clients for failure when giving your “expert advice” – Mike and I give some must-listen examples Why Mike walks away from consultations and gives his subconscious a day or so before giving nutrition recommendations. When to NOT give people many options/choices when it comes to nutrition coaching. The reason Mike doesn’t like Intermittent Fasting and does NOT recommend it to his clients. What Mike thinks about tracking, which way is best, and is there a best way (and for who). What the “3-2-1 method” is and why this simple method works for a lot of clients. The 6 pillars of nutrition that are the foundation of a quality, healthy, sustainable diet. When to eat carbs and some deeper points on the timing of carbs (including circadian rhythm meal timing). Food as a social connector and how to make sure you implement it into coaching as a source of fulfillment and happiness (and how this makes you happier and healthier...

The Keys to Scaling a Business the Right Way What You Will Learn: How mistakenly saving over an invoice led Mike to design the accounting software his business needed, leading to the birth of FreshBooks How the company that started with six team members in his parents’ basement now has millions of users in more than 160 countries Why Mike was reluctant to raise outside capital and instead self-funded the business for a long time Why Mike believes that accepting venture capital during the early days could have undermined the value of the business What important lessons on scaling a business Mike learned growing FreshBooks from just six employees to more than 400 What key organizational growth breakpoints Mike identified on the journey, and how the company had to adapt to each new breakpoint Why having shared values and alignment within your organization is the key to success, and why every problem in business is ultimately a people problem How Mike addresses the difficult situation of a team member not being in alignment with their role in the company Why Mike has chosen to dedicate time to his thought leadership efforts, and why he considers it to be “soul food for entrepreneurs” Why shifting from time-and materials-based billing to value-based billing can be a powerful game-changer for your business The Keys to Scaling a Business the Right Way William S. Burroughs famously said, “When you stop growing, you start dying.” We all want our businesses to keep growing, but sometimes we hit obstacles and roadblocks during the scaling process — and the solutions we used to get us where we are often don’t work to get us where we want to be. In this episode of Onward Nation, FreshBooks CEO and co-founder Mike McDerment shares how his business, which started out with six team members in his parents’ basement, has grown to millions of users in over 160 different countries. And — he shares key lessons on scaling a business he learned during that remarkable growth journey — lessons that can help you fuel the growth of your own business. Bootstrapping Rapid Growth Mike created the software that would become FreshBooks after growing frustrated when he accidentally saved over a past billing invoice. That’s when he decided to create a better tool for small business accounting. The tool proved successful — and Mike’s focus shifted to this new business opportunity. One of the important decisions Mike made early in the life of FreshBooks was to walk away from venture capital funding. At the time, Mike was concerned that the need to offer a return on investment could stunt progress in scaling a business — and so for years, FreshBooks was self-funded. Ultimately, this put the company into a great position now that it is in the pre-IPO stage because it allowed FreshBooks to remain more nimble without being beholden to outside investors during its critical growth period. While Mike believes venture capital isn’t always a bad idea, it wasn’t the right choice for FreshBooks. Scaling a Business Takes Alignment and Shared Values During FreshBooks’ remarkable period of growth, the company reached several key milestones and breakpoints. Each time, Mike and the team had to adapt to change and learn new, critical skills directly tied to scaling a business. For example, early on everyone reported directly to Mike — but eventually, the team grew enough that managers needed to be added. As Mike said during his interview, it was important to identify when these breakpoints happened and to adapt the business to continue scaling through them. And it is an ongoing process — as the business grows, the things needed to keep it moving change. Ensuring that everyone is aligned with your mission and values is critical, and if a team member isn’t in alignment with their role, it is important to address the situation honestly and clearly. As Mike said, every business problem is a people problem at its heart. Getting the right people in the right seats can help you overcome any obstacle. About Mike McDerment Mike McDerment is the co-founder and CEO of FreshBooks, the world’s #1 cloud accounting software for self-employed professionals. Built in 2003 after he accidentally saved over an invoice, Mike spent 3.5 years growing FreshBooks from his parents’ basement. Since then, over 10 million people have used FreshBooks to save time billing and collecting billions of dollars. A lover of the outdoors, Mike has been bitten so many times it’s rumored he’s the first human to have developed immunity to mosquitoes. During his time, he developed combat and survival skills, while also preparing for his life after the military. Since then, Mike and his partners have been able to grow an online community and content platform called Active Duty Passive Income. When it comes to your time at the canvas, do you paint from observation or with reference photos and other tools? Have you had the opportunity to experiment with the size and scale of your paintings? I know that artists like you will be thrilled to hear from the brilliant and talented artist, Mike East. Mike is a representational painter who lives in Flordia with his wife and two children. Over the course of our conversation, Mike and I discussed how the choice of canvas size can impact your painting, how Mike’s thought process shifts when he changes his subject matter, and so much more. I know that artists like you will learn a lot from Mike’s seasoned perspective - make sure to check out the images of Mike’s artwork located at the end of this post! Cityscapes and finding the right perspective Think of your favorite work of art that you’ve produced in the last year- what is it that stands out in your mind? Do you love how the colors turned out? Are you over the moon about the lighting and textures you were able to convey? Mike East spent over ten years working almost exclusively on cityscapes as he plodded and navigated his early career. Through all the challenges over the years, Mike points out that getting the right perspective with his cityscape projects really helped him grow as an artist. In fact, stepping out of that area of success and comfort proved to be challenging and rewarding in the next phase he now finds himself in. Making a mindset shift Let’s face it, most people abhor change - they construct their whole lives around avoiding discomfort and change - many artists aren’t any different. If you have any intention of growing as an artist, you need to make your peace with “Change.” Don’t look at change as the enemy, look at it as an opportunity to explore and expand your skillset. After years of working on cityscapes, Mike East was ready for a change and that journey began with preparing his mindset for a significant shift. The challenge and freedom of “Going big” I love talking to my fellow artists when it comes to the subject of scale - from huge murals to small paintings - it’s a joy to see artists light up over the parameters they’ve set for themselves. When it comes to the parameters of your canvas, do you find it liberating or constricting? Does going small or going large fill you with a sense of freedom or dread? Imagine what it would look like to push past those feelings to explore new possibilities. When I talked to Mike East about the scale and scope of his paintings - I really got the sense that Mike relishes the freedom that large-scale paintings give him. What can you learn from Mike’s story? Make sure to check out the link to mike’s website and his Instagram account located in the resources section. MFC009 - Should coaches ever charge by the hour? How should you price your coaching services? Should you charge by the hour or create a retainer pricing model? Determining what your prices are and how you should structure your pricing model is an age-old question many coaches have asked themselves on a regular basis since the birth of the industry. It is something we perpetually mull over and is often one of the most difficult decisions we make in our coaching businesses. While there are thousands of studies, opinions, and philosophies on the psychology of pricing, one of the most common opinions is that coaches should not charge their clients by the hour. Mike Kim is a copywriting extraordinaire, business coach, and marketing strategist that specializes in personal branding and product launch strategies. Mike is the host of The Brand You Podcast and a professional speaker who has delivered powerful seminars and keynote presentations at industry-leading conferences such as Podcast Movement, Tribe Conference, and Social Media Marketing World Today, I discuss whether coaches should charge their clients by the hour or set up retainer rates for their coaching packages and mastermind groups. Mike Michalowicz (mi-KAL-o-wits) is the author of Profit First, Surge, The Pumpkin Plan, Clockwork, and his newest release, Fix This Next. By his 35th birthday, Mike had founded and sold two companies – one to private equity and another to a Fortune 500. Today he is running his third multi-million dollar venture, Profit First Professionals. Mike is a former small business columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the former business makeover specialist on MSNBC. Over the years, Mike has traveled the globe speaking with thousands of entrepreneurs, and is here today to share the best of what he has learned. What you'll learn about in this episode: How Mike became an entrepreneur through “trial by fire” after burning bridges with his previous job early in his career How Mike realized that becoming an entrepreneur was a lot of work and not an instant ticket to overnight success like he'd thought Why learning to take out his own profits first and then put what was left back into his business was a game-changer for Mike Why Mike identifies himself as a “shareholder in a small business” rather than a business owner or entrepreneur, and why the label matters to how he conducts his business How Mike learned to “channel his behavioral paths” by setting key daily routines including small changes and motivators What major challenges Mike faced, including losing his home and shuttering a business, before he found his path and created a new system of business Why Mike wrote his new book to address the challenge business leaders often face in identifying what their businesses need from them How to take Mike's Fix This Next free evaluation to help you address the weakest link in your business How Mike has identified a way to out-market the competition every time, and how this will be the basis of his next book How businesses must adapt to the realities of today's challenges by considering how they can help others in new ways Resources: Take Mike's Fix This Next free business evaluation: https://fixthisnext.com/ Read the first two chapters of Clockwork for free: https://bit.ly/33MHQtZ Website: www.mikemichalowicz.com LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/mikemichalowicz/ Facebook: www.facebook.com/MikeMichalowiczFanPage/ Twitter: @MikeMichalowicz Additional resources: LIVE Event September 16-18, 2020: www.qlslive.com Website: www.SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/webinar Website: www.SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/termsbook Website: www.SmartRealEstateCoachPodcast.com/ebook Website: www.SmartRealEstateCoach.com/QLS/ Smart Real Estate Coach Podcast Sponsor: Paul G. We’re delighted to have Mike Berland, the CEO, and founder of Decode_M, joining us on the show today. Mike is with us today to talk about data collection, analytics, and momentum. About Mike We currently live in a world that runs on data, and Mike holds the belief that everything is knowable, as long as you know where to look. Mike is the former chair of the Gotham Chapter of the New York City Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and he is a Commonwealth Scholar from the University of Massachusetts. He has worked with many leading brands, including Airbnb, Lyft, Nike, Microsoft, Facebook, Estée Lauder Companies, National Hockey League, and Major League Baseball. Mike has written three books. In 2009 he released a book that he co-authored with Doug Schoen, titled What Makes You Tick? How Successful People Do It and What You Can Learn from Them. Then, in 2005, he co-authored the number one bestseller, Fat-Burning Machine: The 12-Week Diet, with former Olympic triathlon coach Gale Bernhard. And he has now written a new book called Maximum Momentum: How to Build it and How to Keep It, which got released in January 2020. Mike has two adult children, and he lives in Manhattan, New York, with his wife of more than twenty-five years. About Decode_M Decode_M is a research, analytics, and insights firm that decodes data into momentum for its clients. It is a fast-moving firm that arms its clients with the actionable information they need to make critical decisions. As a team of passionate problem-solvers and data-driven storytellers, they use a diverse mix of data sets to identify the right answers and solutions so that their clients can take the right action immediately, with confidence. Collecting & analyzing the right data is where the job starts for the Decode_M team. Strategy, activation, and how the data gets used is what they are all about. Why Mike started Decode_M Mike started Decode_M because he felt that there was another analytical tool needed in the data research and analytics space. The most important question When he started his career as a pollster, Mike asked questions, and he received answers. However, the answers were always limited to the data set. And Mike explains that when you’re a pollster, the most important questions are usually the ones you did not ask. So when you get the data and analyze it, you often realize that there are many other things that you wish that you had asked. Going beyond polling Over time, more and more data started becoming available, so Mike wanted to go beyond polling. He wanted to start analyzing all the data that was out there, using a new approach, new concepts, and new tools. New ways of gathering data fast In the old days, Mike had to call people on the phone and ask them questions to obtain the data that he needed. Now that he has a computer and cloud computing, he can process as much data as any top research lab in a matter of hours. And he can now also continuously go back to the social media data, or the behavioral data, rewrite the queries and keep building. Completing a project Before, with surveys, the project was complete once the report had been presented. Now, with Decode_M’s current analytics, the project is never really done because the data can continue to get mined. Momentum Mike wrote a book called Maximum Momentum, with the idea that momentum is an amorphous word that may work in many different and varied contexts, and he wanted to quantify momentum. The M-Factor In physics, momentum equals mass times velocity. So Mike had to create the metrics from mass and velocity and then put them together to create what he calls the M-Factor. Mike explains that the mass is the volume of conversation, and the velocity is the engagement and the sentiment. How the market was getting things wrong Mike thought that the market was getting things wrong because all the metrics for social med...

“The breath is the carrier of consciousness.” If anyone has mastered their mind, it's extreme athlete Wim Hof.Wim Hof got his nickname “The Iceman” by breaking a number of records related to cold exposure. His feats include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in shorts, running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle on his bare feet, and standing in a container while covered with ice cubes for more than 112 minutes. He developed the Wim Hof Method: a natural path to an optimal state of body and mind.He says that our brains have the power to guarantee us happiness, strength, and health. We can actually regulate our mind and the autonomous nervous system by breathing and being present.I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Poland along several other top entrepreneurs and business owners to experience a week with Wim Hof that I will never forget. As a group, we participated in several different exercises. Some involved meditation and breathing and others involved enduring intense cold and ice water challenges. On this trip, we all learned about the importance of brotherhood. Some of the physical challenges would have been unbearable if we were going at it alone. We all had each other to encourage, to motivate, and to push. We've all been in a place, where we think, "I can't do this anymore."That's a mindset roadblock that we were taught to overcome. Often in the midst of being uncomfortable, our minds and bodies panic. Our top priority is becoming comfortable again. But this is not often the correct way to deal with stress or pain. The mind is powerful, and if you teach it to avoid pain, then you'll never reach your full potential. If anyone has mastered the art of being uncomfortable while releasing stress, it's Wim Hof. He gave all us an experience we will never forget. How deep breathing practices create spiritual experiences in the body and mind (0:45)What Aubrey learned on the trip (2:52)What Steve learned on the trip (5:23)What Humble learned on the trip (6:53)What Mike learned on the trip (11:49)What Jesse learned on the trip (15:19)What Marq learned on the trip (20:59)What Matt (Cesar) learned on the trip (24:20)What Enahm learned on the trip (27:00)What Nick learned on the trip (33:30)Why Mike walked across America (37:14)What Taylor learned on the trip (40:18)What Mitch learned on the trip (41:28)What Matthew learned on the trip (43:45)What Peter learned on the trip (52:05)What Dalton learned on the trip (53:35)What Wim learned on the trip (55:23)Aubrey’s thoughts on the power of breathwork (57:30)Matthew’s thoughts on leadership (1:01:18)Plus much more...Wim Hof EpisodeSteve Weatherford EpisodeHumble the Poet EpisodeMike Posner EpisodeAubrey Marcus EpisodeMatthew Hussey EpisodeJesse Itzler EpisodeNick Symmonds EpisodeMatthew Hussey EpisodeWim Hof appWim Hof InstagramSteve Weatherford InstagramHumble the Poet InstagramMike Posner InstagramAubrey Marcus InstagramMatthew Hussey InstagramJesse Itzler InstagramMarq Brown InstagramNick Symmonds InstagramTaylor Jenson InstagramMitch Matthews InstagramEnahm Hof InstagramMatthew Hussey InstagramDalton Misner InstagramIf you enjoyed this episode, check out the video, show notes and more at http://www.lewishowes.com/910 and follow at instagram.com/lewishowes
