Alien Mummies Or Ancient Humans Butchered And Sold By Grave-Robbing Conmen?

Anyone with an interest in any and all evidence related to alien species, non-human intelligence, or UFO/UAP is likely familiar with claims of mummified alien remains. Proponents say the remains have been buried in South America for hundreds of years and have been conclusively examined and studied by scientists and medical experts - and are legit. But many of the claims made are muddled at best, and persons involved in bringing the mummies forward have been caught fabricating evidence. For the last few years, WEAPONIZED co-hosts Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp have followed the controversy, as reported in various news reports, but decided to leave the topic to those who have the expertise needed to formally investigate the claims and the mummies themselves. If the three-fingered mummies turned out to be non-human or even extraterrestrial in origin, it would be a massively important finding that would boost the credibility of those who argue that non-human intelligence has been present on Earth for hundreds of years - maybe thousands. So, bottom line: Are these mummies the real deal, or have the proponents engaged in ghoulish grave robbing and the surgical manipulation of long-dead, but very human, corpses? An explorer and YouTube creator turned UFO investigator traveled to Brazil to take a deep dive into the claims and was, for a time, a believer, not a debunker. His YouTube site, “Incredible History,” included a previous video entitled “Show Me the Mummies,” and his explosive new video, released just days ago, appears to blow the lid off of the mummy claims and the people who have promoted what some believe is a money-making scam - one linked to South American drug cartels. Two esteemed academics have joined the conversation, and both make strong arguments that the two best-known mummies show clear evidence of tampering. In this episode of WEAPONIZED, we speak with Will Brown who created the “Incredible History” YouTube channel, along with Dr. Dan Proctor, a biological anthropologist, and Michele Adams, a highly experienced radiologist who says she is an experiencer herself. Both of these professionals are openly interested in ETs and non-human intelligence, but their precise criticisms of the mummy evidence made public so far have subjected the two PhDs to personal attacks and allegations that they are designated debunkers working on behalf of the deep state to muddy the waters. Is there an assembly line somewhere in Peru where long-dead humans are being carved up and then re-arranged to look like three-fingered aliens? And is there a flourishing black market where private collectors pay huge sums in order to obtain their very own “alien” mummy? This WEAPONIZED episode includes a spirited discussion about where the mummy debate stands now and what it would take to confirm that the two most prominent mummy specimens are the real deal. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for January 9, 2026 is: innocuous • ih-NAH-kyuh-wus • adjective Innocuous describes either something that is not likely to bother or offend anyone (as in “an innocuous comment”), or something that causes no injury, or is otherwise considered harmless (as in “an innocuous prank”). // The reporter asked what seemed like an innocuous question, but it prompted the candidate to storm off, abruptly ending the press conference. See the entry > Examples: “Strong solar storms can be dangerous for astronauts in space, and can cause problems for GPS systems and satellites. ... But solar storms can also have more innocuous consequences on Earth, such as supercharged displays of the northern lights.” — Denise Chow, NBC News (online), May 15, 2025 Did you know? Innocuous is rooted in a lack of harm: it comes from the Latin adjective innocuus, which was formed by combining the negative prefix in- with a form of the verb nocēre, meaning “to harm” or “to hurt.” It first appeared in print in the early 1600s with the meaning “harmless; causing no injury,” as in “an innocuous gas,” and soon developed a second, metaphorical sense used to describe something that does not offend or cause hurt feelings, as in “an innocuous comment.” Innocent followed the same trajectory centuries before; its negative in- prefix joined with Latin nocent-, nocens, meaning “wicked,” which also comes from nocēre. This is not to say that nocēre has only contributed words that semantically negate the harm inherent in the root: nocēre is also the source of noxious and nuisance.

NASA makes history after announcing it will return four astronauts home early in the first-ever medical evacuation from the International Space Station, raising questions about safety, preparedness, and what went wrong in orbit. Back on Earth, tragedy strikes much closer to home with a deadly shooting in Sylmar stemming from a family dispute, ending in a murder-suicide that shocks the community. Sports and headlines collide as rumors swirl around Travis Kelce’s possible retirement, and we pivot to a lighter but timely moment wishing Dean Sharp — The House Whisperer — a happy birthday before diving into one of Southern California’s biggest ongoing issues: rebuilding after devastating fires. Dean breaks down the growing controversy over permits, why hundreds of millions of dollars aren’t going where people think they are, and just how expensive — and complicated — rebuilding has become. The conversation continues with serious concerns about whether the flood of rebuilding plans could lead to mistakes in places like Altadena and the Palisades, plus clarity on ADUs, temporary tax relief, and how housing policy is trying to keep up with demand. And just when you think the day can’t get stranger, emergency crews are forced to evacuate people off the Disneyland Monorail after it’s stuck in place for more than two and a half hours — proving even the “Happiest Place on Earth” isn’t immune to chaos. Space, tragedy, housing headaches, and Disney drama — all in one unforgettable hour.

For many people, religion is a source of comfort — but what happens when it becomes a source of fear, shame, or lifelong anxiety? In this episode, author Cassandra Brandt shares her deeply personal journey through religious indoctrination, purity culture, and the hidden mental health consequences that followed her into adulthood.Cassandra unpacks the emotional toll of being raised in an evangelical Christian environment: fearing the end times as a child, internalizing guilt as a spiritual obligation, and believing mental illness was a sign of demonic influence. She explains how these messages shaped her anxiety, self-worth, relationships, and even her sense of identity.Listener takeaways The mental health impact of purity culture on girls and women why religious trauma is often dismissed — and why that's dangerous how religious indoctrination can create lifelong anxiety, guilt, and shame Through honesty and courage, Cassandra highlights the often ignored reality of religious trauma — what it looks like, why it's misunderstood, and why so many people struggle to talk about it without being dismissed as “anti-religion.” She also shares how therapy, education, and new philosophies helped her rebuild her life, develop healthier relationships, and raise her daughter without fear-based teachings.Whether you've experienced religious trauma or want to understand someone who has, this candid conversation sheds light on an uncomfortable but essential mental health topic.“Millions of people find peace in religion. I'm not trying to throw the baby out with the bathwater. But fundamentalist evangelical theology can truly and genuinely hurt people emotionally and intellectually when it's done in this fire and brimstone sort of way, especially toward children. You can tell a child a thousand sweet stories about Jesus, but the one that's going to stick out in their head is the one that you tell them about the hell that they're going to if they don't believe. Some children won't experience sleepless nights and terror about eternal damnation. Some adults won't experience trauma later. But others will.” ~Cassandra Brandt, religious trauma survivor Our guest, Cassandra Brandt is an author, advocate, and aspiring Stoic based in rural Arizona. A steelworker prior to a spinal cord injury in 2015, Cassandra now writes full time, blogging for disability publications and writing for literary magazines. Ocean carbon sequestration is failing because we are ignoring one of the ocean's most powerful climate allies, seaweed forests, and that blind spot could cost us precious time in the fight against climate change. This episode asks a simple but urgent question: how can one of the fastest-growing, most productive ecosystems on Earth still be missing from climate policy? Seaweed blue carbon challenges everything we think we know about how the ocean stores carbon, because kelp forests do not lock carbon in place, they move it. Scientists are now tracking how seaweed captures carbon near the coast and exports it to the deep ocean, where it can be stored for centuries, yet conservation frameworks have not caught up with this science. Kelp forests climate change reveals the emotional core of this story: we are losing ecosystems that protect biodiversity, support fisheries, and quietly help stabilize the climate, often without realizing their value until they are gone. The surprising insight is that seaweed may already be helping the climate far more than we give it credit for, but only if we choose to protect it. If explaining the state of the world makes you feel like a conspiracy theorist, you aren't alone. In this monologue, Rushkoff argues that our built environment has become so convoluted that accepting its premises essentially means gaslighting oneself. Rushkoff recounts a recent experience as a guest on the companion podcast for the Hulu series Paradise, a show about a billionaire-funded private city. When Rushkoff tried to explain that this isn't just sci-fi, pointing to real-world projects like "California Forever" in Solano County and "Neom" in Saudi Arabia, the interviewer looked at him with concern and incredulity. Why does simply describing how the world works make us sound "crazy" to the uninitiated? Rushkoff breaks down why we are not the crazy ones; we are just the ones noticing the absurdity of a system designed to privatize the planet.Team Human is proudly sponsored by Everyone's Earth.Learn more about Everyone's Earth: https://everyonesearth.com/Change Diapers: https://changediapers.com/Cobi Dryer Sheets: https://cobidryersheets.com/Use the code “rush10” to receive 10% off of Cobi Dryer sheets: https://cobidryersheets.com/Support Team Human on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/teamhumanFollow Team Human with Douglas Rushkoff:Instagram: https:/www.instagram.com/douglasrushkoffYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJdUEh2Wh4fnswTLmqoEnhgTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@douglasrushkoffBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rushkoff.com Hosted on Acast. It's Wednesday, January 7th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Sudanese military killed 11 Christians Tragically, the military of Sudan killed a group of Christians on their way to church on Christmas morning last month. The Sudanese Armed Forces targeted the group with a drone strike, killing at least 11 Christians and injuring 18 more.  A Christian attorney in the area told Morning Star News, “The church [building] was not hit, but a congregation who were marching in procession towards the church were targeted.” Sudan's military is in conflict with various rival forces in the country's ongoing civil war. Sadly, Christians are caught in the crossfire, facing increased attacks and violence in the Muslim-majority country.  According to Open Doors, Sudan is the fifth most dangerous country worldwide for Christians. Canadian Christians upset: Quoting Bible can be “hate speech” Liberal lawmakers in Canada are trying to remove a religious exemption from the country's hate speech laws. Currently, people cannot be convicted of hate speech if they make a statement in “good faith” based “on belief in a religious text.” The Christian Institute warns that quoting the Bible could be criminalized as hate speech under the new proposal. Andrew Lawton, a conservative Member of Parliament from Ontario, commented, “[The Liberals] are prepared to mount … a full-scale assault on religious freedom.” Psalm 94:20-21 asks, “Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with [the Lord]? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.” Hegseth tours America's hypersonic weapons On Tuesday's Worldview newscast, we said, “The United States has yet to deploy its hypersonic technology -- it is still in the testing phase.” Upon closer examination, according to The War Zone, we can report that War Secretary Pete Hegseth recently toured the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama to examine America's long-range Dark Eagle hypersonic boost-glide vehicle weapon system. During his visit, Hegseth designated the installation as U.S. Space Command's new headquarters. The Army's Dark Eagle, also known as the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon, is a trailer-launched hypersonic boost-glide vehicle system that can travel long distances at hypersonic speeds, with velocities in excess of 3,800 miles per hour, while maneuvering erratically through Earth's atmosphere. This makes it an ideal weapon for striking high-priority and time-sensitive targets that are extremely well defended. It's the first true hypersonic weapon slated for frontline U.S. service. The same missile architecture is being adopted by the Navy for sea-launch under the Intermediate Range Conventional Prompt Strike weapon system. During a show-and-tell of Army missile systems, Lieutenant General Francisco Lozano, Director of Hypersonic, Directed Energy, Space and Rapid Acquisition, told Hegseth that Dark Eagle has a 2,100-mile range. Members of the media were also present at the event, which was captured on video by C-SPAN. Colorado must pay $5 million over trying to shut down pro-life clinic In the United States, Colorado must pay $5.4 million in a lawsuit involving a pro-life healthcare clinic.  The state tried to ban abortion pill reversal and shut down a Denver-area pro-life clinic. Bella Health and Wellness fought back and won their case with the help of The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.  Rebekah Ricketts, senior counsel at Becket, said, “At least 18 moms who received abortion pill reversal care at Bella just celebrated Christmas with babies born during this case. All Coloradans should celebrate those little miracles and the brave medical team at Bella that helped their moms when no one else would.” Vandal of J.D. Vance's home is trans Democrat The U.S. Secret Service arrested a man on Monday who caused property damages at the Ohio home of Vice President J.D. Vance. The man used a hammer to break four windows on the front of the home. He also vandalized an unmarked Secret Service vehicle. The man has been identified as 26-year-old William DeFoor. He pretends to be a woman and goes by the name “Julia.” His father. Dr. Bob DeFoor, is a prominent urology surgeon and a mega Democrat donor. Vice President Vance responded on X. He wrote, “I appreciate everyone's well wishes about the attack at our home. ... I'm grateful to the Secret Service and the Cincinnati police for responding quickly. We weren't even home as we had returned already to D.C.” Corporation for Public Broadcasting dissolves over Trump defunding The board of directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting voted Monday to dissolve the organization after losing federal funding.  Congress created the nonprofit in 1967 to support public broadcasting in America. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has distributed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars each year to public stations through National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting System.  However, President Donald Trump has accused such outlets of spreading misinformation. In line with this, Congress defunded the Corporation for Public Broadcasting last summer.  Republican Congressman of California died Tuesday House Republicans announced Tuesday that Rep. Doug LaMalfa of California died at the age of 65, reports the Western Journal. The announcement was shared in a statement posted by the official House Republicans X account. On January 5th, LaMalfa experienced a medical emergency at his home and was transported to a Chico, California hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. During the procedure, he experienced both a heart attack and an aneurysm, according to the Sacramento Bee. He died the following day at 3:20 a.m while still in surgery. LaMalfa was a fourth-generation rice farmer. U-Haul does well in red states, poorly in blue states U-Haul released its annual Growth Index for last year. The truck rental company ranks states by their net gain or loss based on one-way rentals. Many conservative states topped the list for growth while many Democrat states were at the bottom of the list. Texas and Florida saw the most in-migration. Illinois and California saw the most out-migration.   More Americans vow to read entire Bible in 2026 And finally, CBN News reports that a growing number of Americans are committed to reading the entire Bible this year. Only an estimated 13-20% of Americans have completed the feat in the past. But that number is rising as Bible sales surged over the last year. Dr. Corné Bekker, Dean of Divinity at Regent University, has read the Bible several hundred times. Listen to his comments. BEKKER: “I do think increasingly our world is falling apart. The foundations of our society are being eroded at a record speed. People are longing for that which is eternally true, that which is ancient, that which is unchanging.” In Isaiah 66:2, the Lord says, “But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My Word.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, January 7th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). This show is made possible by you! Description:  When was the last time you listened to the plants? Plant ecologist Robin Wall Kimmerer, a self-proclaimed “student of the plants,” has dedicated her life to helping people of all ages understand the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. Her latest initiative “Plant Baby Plant” does exactly that, by mobilizing communities to restore plants while building collective power for the Earth. Kimmerer is a distinguished professor, MacArthur Fellow, mother and an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Her 2013 book “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants” emerged as a surprise bestseller with almost three million copies sold across 20 languages. In this enlightening episode, Robin Wall Kimmerer and Laura Flanders explore how nature can inform our language, our economy, our movements and more. As you'll hear, our survival depends on it. Plus, a commentary from Laura on what it took to separate people from nature. Hint: it wasn't peaceful.“I think it is so important that we embrace ecological grief rather than look away . . . When we recognize that pain we feel for our relationships with the natural world is also the measure of our love for the living world. It's that love which is mirrored in the grief that makes you get back up and say, ‘Not on my watch.'” - Robin Wall Kimmerer“. . . We have to kind of decolonize our minds from this industrial revolution concept that the Earth belongs to us as a source of nothing more than belongings, natural resources that are our property . . . There is this notion in many Indigenous worldviews that human beings play a critical role in maintaining balance, that the way we take from the living world can actually be regenerative.” - Robin Wall KimmererGuest:  Robin Wall Kimmerer: Plant Ecologist, Writer, Professor; Founder, Plant Baby Plant; Author, Braiding Sweetgrass*Recommended book:Bookshop: “The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World” by Robin Wall Kimmerer: Get the book*  And to accompany the book:(*Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores. Having visited all 63 U.S. national parks, we felt it was time to broaden our scope and explore one of the most popular and biologically diverse national parks outside the United States: Galápagos National Park. Located hundreds of miles west of mainland Ecuador, this archipelago of tropical islands straddles the equator. Because the islands were isolated from other landmasses for millions of years, many plants and animals evolved into species found nowhere else on Earth. Much of the wildlife you encounter in the Galápagos exists only there. Galaxy Cruises recently hosted our visit to this remarkable national park for four days and five nights aboard their EcoGalaxy catamaran. It's Tuesday, January 6th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Muslims killed 32 Christians since Christmas Killings of Christians continue unabated in Nigeria, reports TruthNigeria.com. Islamist terrorists have killed at least 32 Christians since Christmas, and burned down hundreds of homes in the Adamawa, Kebbi, and Plateau states. Congressman asserts Nigerian Christians targeted for their faith On January 1st, Republican U.S. Congressman Riley Moore of West Virginia weighed in on X. He wrote, “If there were any remaining doubts that Christians in Nigeria are being targeted for their faith in Jesus Christ, this should end that debate.  This isn't about land usage, ‘climate change,' or any other argument the Left wants to make. “This is persecution of our brothers and sisters for their faith in Christ, plain and simple. ISIS is telling Christians they have an opportunity to ‘spare their blood' if they convert. Our brothers and sisters will not bend the knee to anyone but our Lord and Savior.” Also, late last week, the Islamic-supported Allied Democratic Forces carried out a deadly nighttime incursion, killing at least 15 people in the Lubero territory of Congo, Africa. 20 Iranians have died in protests in 78 cities Iranian protests enter Day 9 where at least 20 people have died in the unrest. Protests have been cited in 78 cities across 26 provinces, reports Iran International.  According to The Times on Sunday, Iran's Supreme Leader has a backup plan in place — to abscond to Russia should his security forces fail. North Korea shot hypersonic missiles Sunday North Korea successfully fired off several hypersonic missiles on Sunday, connecting with targets 700 miles away in Korea's East Sea. North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un called it a “very important strategic task to maintain and expand a powerful and reliable nuclear deterrent.”  Back in 2019, China deployed hypersonic technology. But the United States has yet to deploy its hypersonic technology — it is still in the testing phase.  Number of foreigners in Austria, Belgium and UK skyrocketing Remix News reports that over 41% of the population of Vienna, Austria's capital, is foreign born. And 50 percent of first-graders do not understand German. Also, Muslim students now account for 41.2 percent of all elementary school students, while Christian students fell to 34.5 percent. Plus, Austria, Belgium, and the United Kingdom have the highest percentages of babies born to immigrants — above 30%. Venezuelan dictator and wife plead not guilty The Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, both arrested by the U.S. government over the weekend, appeared in a New York City Court Monday to face charges of narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy. and weapons offenses. They entered pleas of innocence to the charges. Psalm 37:9 is clear: “Evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the Earth.” China financed $60 billion loans to Venezuela Come to find out China has been a major player in Venezuela since 2000. The Council on Foreign Relations reports that Venezuela ate up $60 billion of Chinese loans accounting for fully half of all the money that China loaned to South America over the years. And China has been taking in about 80% of Venezuelan oil exports of late. Rubio objects to Iran, China, & Russia propping up Venezuela Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio objected to America's enemies propping up Venezuela in America's backyard. Listen. RUBIO: “We don't need Venezuela's oil. We have plenty of oil in the United States. What we're not going to allow is for the oil industry in Venezuela to be controlled by adversaries of the United States. You have to understand. Why does China need their oil? Why does Russia need their oil? Why does Iran need their oil? They're not even in this continent. “This is the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live, and we're not going to allow the western hemisphere to be a base of operation for adversaries, competitors and rivals of the United States. We want to see the oil proceeds of that country benefit the people of Venezuela. “Why have 8 million people left Venezuela? Eight million: the single largest mass migration probably in modern history, left Venezuela in 2014 because all the wealth of that country was stolen to the benefit of Maduro and his cronies in the regime, but not to the benefit of people of Venezuela. You know how destabilizing 8 million migrants is? “The number one fear that Brazil has, that Colombia has, that all these countries in the region have about what's happening in Venezuela and our involvement is they're afraid of another mass migration event. That's what they feel. This is deeply destabilizing stuff. ”It's not going to continue to happen. They are not going to come from outside of our hemisphere, destabilize our region in our own backyard, and us have to pay the price for it, not under President Trump.” Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Uruguay & Spain upset about Maduro The governments of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay and Spain have issued a statement airing their disagreement with the U.S. military actions taken against Venezuela over the weekend.   The statement appealed to what they called the “principles of the United Nations Charter.” Trump upset that drug cartels are running Mexico and Columbia President Donald Trump has also told the U.S. press that something has to be done with Mexico. He told Fox News that the  drug cartels are running the country.  Plus, he called Columbia a “sick country” run by a “sick” president who “likes to sell Cocaine to the United States.” Trump said he's not going to be doing this very long.   And the president said, “Cuba is ready to fall” as well.  But let us all remember Who rules. Psalm 22:28-29 says, “For the kingdom is the Lord's, and He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the Earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.” Dallas street preachers handcuffed and detained without cause Here in America, street preachers connected with a “Reformed Baptist evangelistic ministry, [Testimonies of God], committed to the supremacy of Scripture and the advancement of Christ's Gospel,” were handcuffed and detained by police officers in Dallas a few weeks ago. The Christian Post reports that an officer had required the evangelists to get off the public sidewalk and cross the street — an order the preachers believed was unlawful. So far, no charges have been filed in the case. 15 states still allow trans surgeries and drugs for kids Two hospitals in left-wing Colorado have decided to stop writing prescriptions for sex-change drugs for children, reports 9-News. Children's Hospital and Denver Health have cited warnings from the U.S. Health and Human Services Department. Colorado was the faux-sex-change capital of the world in the 1980s and 1990s.   Sadly, 15 states still allow gender-based mutilation or gender-debilitating drugs for kids including Colorado, California, Oregon, Illinois, and New York. Japanese restaurant paid $3.24 million for bluefin tuna And finally, a Japanese sushi chain set a record for the price paid for a fish yesterday.  The Japan Times reports that Sushi Zanmai paid $3.24 million for a Pacific bluefin tuna at Tokyo's fish auction. That's an astounding $6,600 per pound! The planet Venus is switching sides today – sides of the Sun. It’s crossing behind the Sun as seen from Earth, so it’s moving from the morning sky to the evening sky. But we won’t be able to see it for several weeks. Venus is the second planet from the Sun, while Earth is third. So Venus crosses both behind the Sun and between Earth and the Sun. It switches between Morning Star and Evening Star appearances each time. Each of these crossings happens every 584 days – about 19 and a half months. The planet spends about eight months in both the morning and evening sky, and disappears from view during the crossings. When Venus passes between Earth and the Sun, it’s closest to us, so it moves across the sky quickly – it’s hidden in the Sun’s glare for only a few days. When it’s behind the Sun, it’s farthest – about 160 million miles. Because of the relative motions of Earth and Venus, it moves across the sky quite slowly. So it remains hidden in the light for three months or so. Depending on your location, Venus could emerge as the Evening Star as early as mid- to late February. It’ll be quite low in the twilight, so it won’t be easy to find. The planet will climb into better view in early March. Venus will reign over the evening sky until October, when it will vanish in the sunlight as it once again switches sides. Tomorrow: slowing down the stellar birth rate. Script by Damond Benningfield

SpaceTime with Stuart Gary Gary - Series 29 Episode 2In this episode of SpaceTime, we explore the intriguing history of our galaxy and the secrets of Earth's early water retention.Unraveling the Milky Way's Chemical BimodalityA groundbreaking study suggests that the Milky Way's stellar formation and its unique chemical bimodality may stem from intergalactic gas rather than traditional star formation or galactic collisions. Researchers utilized advanced computer simulations to analyze the formation of 30 simulated galaxies, revealing that the Milky Way's distinct groups of stars, defined by their iron and magnesium content, can emerge through various mechanisms. This research not only enhances our understanding of the Milky Way's evolution but also challenges previous assumptions about the role of smaller galaxies in shaping its chemical structure.Earth's Mantle: A Reservoir of Ancient WaterNew findings indicate that Earth's mantle may have locked away vast amounts of water during the planet's formative magma ocean phase. Researchers discovered that bridgmanite, the most abundant mineral in the mantle, could store significant quantities of water, potentially equating to the volume of all today's oceans. This study reshapes our understanding of how water was retained during Earth's extreme early conditions and its role in the transition to a habitable planet. The implications of this research may provide insights into the geological processes that sustain Earth's dynamic environment. The Astronomy of Standing StonesReflecting on archaeological astronomy, we revisit a pivotal study that revealed how ancient standing stones in Britain were constructed with astronomical alignments in mind. This research confirms that the earliest stone monuments, including the Great Circles of Scotland, were intentionally oriented to mark the movements of the sun and moon. By examining the patterns of alignment, researchers established a connection between these ancient structures and the cultural significance of celestial events, illustrating the sophisticated understanding early Britons had of their environment and the cosmos.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical SocietyJournal of ScienceJournal of Archaeological Science ReportsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-your-guide-to-space-astronomy--2458531/support.(00:00:00) This is Space Time Series 29, Episode 2 for broadcast on 5 January 2026(00:00:47) New study on the Milky Way's chemical bimodality(00:12:30) How bridgmanite in Earth's mantle may have stored ancient water(00:20:10) The astronomical significance of ancient standing stones in Britain(00:25:00) Science Robert: Sleep apnea linked to Parkinson's disease and more news in science

What if a haunting didn't involve ghosts — but the lingering smell of carnival food? This episode of The Box of Oddities opens with an unsettling sensory mystery tied to a long-demolished amusement park, then plunges into one of the most stubborn and controversial archaeological puzzles of modern times: the tridactyl mummies of Peru. Discovered near the Nazca region, these small humanoid mummies feature three fingers, three toes, elongated skulls, and internal anatomy that does not appear to be the result of a simple hoax. CT scans and MRIs show articulated skeletons with no apparent signs of assembly. Carbon dating places them roughly 1,700–1,800 years old. DNA testing reveals material consistent with known Earth life — alongside a troubling percentage classified as unknown. Some specimens even appear to contain metallic implants made from rare alloys, positioned as if intentionally placed during life. One reportedly shows signs of a fetus, suggesting reproduction rather than fabrication. Scientists remain cautious. Skeptics remain vocal. And yet, after years of imaging and analysis, these bodies stubbornly resist tidy explanations. They may not be aliens — but they also may not be anything science has fully named yet. Then, in classic Box fashion, the episode pivots from the inexplicable to the unexpectedly hopeful. Meet the real-world heroes you probably didn't expect: trained landmine-detecting rats. These remarkable animals are saving lives across former war zones by sniffing out explosives buried decades ago. One rat in particular, Ronan, has broken world records and helped return deadly land to safe use — proving that sometimes the strangest solutions are also the most effective. From phantom fairground smells to unresolved biological mysteries to rats quietly changing the world, this episode is a reminder that the universe is weird, complicated, and occasionally wonderful — whether we understand it or not.
