Vaccine skepticism and distrust of pharmaceutical companies long predated RFK, Jr.'s 2024 presidential campaign. But the distrust of mainstream medical authority has now grown so deep that the United States can no longer contain the spread of measles. The country's measles-vaccination rates have dropped below the threshold for herd immunity. Obviously, Trump's misleading vax ruminations from the Oval Office have not helped the matter. The New Yorker's Ruby Cramer discusses her reporting on one family's frightening medical experience after one parent fell down the MAHA rabbit hole. Plus: The administration has given Big Ag a pass, Democrats should try recapturing health-conscious voters, the overlooked case of an American shot by immigration thugs, and the surprising backstory of Kari Lake becoming ambassador to Jamaica. Ruby Cramer joins Tim Miller.show notes: "The Next Level" pod will be out later today Ruby's New Yorker piece, "The MAHA Custody Battle" Ruby's reporting on the preschool worker who was shot by Border Patrol Ruby on the DNC's Ken Martin "Eddington," the film Ruby referenced (and recommended by Sonny)  Bulwark LIVE: GOOD FIGHT TOUR with Tim, Sarah, Sam and JVL is coming to the Southeast in October. Yield curve control has gone mainstream (seriously, just ask the Asheville Beatnik with a message for Scott Bessent), so Tracy Alloway is here to explain the latest economic turmoil to Tim. Bessent's bond buyback gambit seems to have flopped, but apparently, according to the President, there's always the option of military intervention to bring the market to heel. In the meantime, consumers are going to pay more interest on everything, and there's no plan to reduce the federal debt. Then, for some MAGA drama dessert, Will Sommer joins the pod to talk about Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy's dud of a pay-for-play road trip video series, the Trump/Tucker beef, and the feud between a Groyper-adjacent Undersecretary of State and an anonymous MAGA propaganda account that your tax dollars are paying for. Will Sommer and Tracy Alloway join Tim Miller.show notes: Picture of the Asheville protestor with the yield curve sign Tracy's Odd Lots podcast Will and Tim's DC tour Will's False Flag newsletter on Data Republican Catch Tim, Sarah, and JVL on The Next Level later tonight

The answer isn't a better logo or tagline—it's building a personal brand that stands out in the eyes of good-fit clients and ensures their work is in sync with their values. Sheri Fitts is a marketing strategist, and she joins the show to explain why every advisor already has a brand (whether they realize it or not), and how intentionally shaping that brand can attract more of the right clients. Listen in to learn how to uncover what existing clients value most about working with you, identify the niche that best aligns with your strengths and passions, and test your positioning before making major marketing investments.

Twenty-five years ago, sequencing the human genome seemed poised to usher in an era of personalized medicine. Dr. Euan Ashley helped turn that promise into an actual clinical experiment, leading one of the first efforts to interpret an entire human genome in the context of a real patient's health. The challenge quickly became apparent: medicine could suddenly generate billions of data points about one person, but making sense of them was painfully slow. That history feels newly relevant. Ashley recently gave an AI system his own 15-year-old genome data and watched it reproduce most of an analysis that had originally required months of work by a team, in about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, genomics is being joined by wearables, multi-omics, and other technologies capable of tracking far more of our biology over time.In this episode of NextLevel, we use the genome revolution as a case study for what happens when our ability to measure the body advances faster than our ability to interpret and use the information. The next leap in personalized medicine may depend less on collecting another mountain of data than on building the tools, reference datasets, and healthcare systems capable of turning that information into decisions.Free course: Improve your metabolic healthGet our free email course on how glucose, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and measurement can help you build habits that support better energy and long-term health: https://levels.link/wnl

Thanks to our Partner, AppFueledSEO can easily turn into a game of watching rankings, reporting what happened, and waiting to see what happens next. But what if there was a better way to know exactly when it's time to stop focusing on one keyword and start going after the next opportunity?Brian Walker sits down with Shop Marketing Pros Director of SEO Michelle Travis to break down the new SMP Proactive Keyword Lifecycle System and how it changes SEO from reactive to proactive. They dig into how keywords are discovered, qualified, accelerated, validated, and eventually “graduated” once they reach meaningful and stable positions in search. They also get into why SEO timelines can look completely different for a rural shop versus a shop surrounded by hundreds of competitors in a major metro area, how keyword difficulty affects expectations, and why focusing on 20 keywords doesn't mean your shop will only rank for 20 keywords. And the early numbers behind the system are pretty impressive. During beta testing, 31% of the tracked keywords graduated within the first 30 days, with nearly all of those maintaining their graduation status during the following 30 days.If you want a better understanding of what your shop's SEO company should actually be doing behind the scenes and how a real strategy should keep moving forward instead of sitting in maintenance mode. In this episode of the Artist Academy Podcast, I'm joined by Derrik Diza to dive into hiring, team building, and growing an art business beyond just yourself.Derrik was previously on the podcast to talk about outreach. Since then, he has built a much bigger operation with employees, artists, a mentorship program, and systems that allow him to take on more work without doing everything himself. With hiring as the focus of this month's content, I wanted to hear what Derrik has learned from building his own team. He shares how to know when it's time to hire, what tasks to hand off first, and why having a system in place makes all the difference. He also explains why he believes culture matters more than skills when choosing the right people.Derrik has also spent a lot of time figuring out what works in his marketing. He shares his approach to cold email and niche marketing along with some great advice on making your outreach sound more human. We get into how testing and consistency can help you find what works and eventually turn that process into something someone else can manage. The bigger lesson here is that growth doesn't mean you have to work more hours or do more yourself. It means finding ways to build systems and bring the right people in so your business can grow beyond what you can do alone.

Your Coach Doesn't Know Squat About MarketingYour auto repair shop business coach may be great at improving operations, financial performance, leadership, and profitability—but that doesn't necessarily make them a marketing expert. In this episode of The Weekly Blitz, we explain why shop owners should be cautious about accepting marketing advice from someone who isn't actively studying and practicing it every day.Marketing changes fast. The platforms, algorithms, privacy rules, technology, and customer behaviors that shaped successful strategies five years ago have changed dramatically. In some cases, tactics that worked just six months ago may already be losing effectiveness. When your coach offers an opinion about SEO, Google Ads, social media, websites, or digital strategy, ask what current data and hands-on experience support it. Before cutting a marketing channel or changing direction, get a professional opinion from someone working in automotive marketing today. In this episode, you'll learn:Why coaching repair shops and marketing repair shops are different specialtiesHow outdated marketing advice can hurt your businessWhy confidence should never replace current dataQuestions to ask before acting on someone's marketing recommendationHow business coaches and marketing professionals should work togetherWhy operational problems can sometimes look like marketing problemsWhen to seek a professional marketing audit or second opinionYour coach can be an invaluable part of your team—but every professional should stay in their area of expertise. After eight years I can usually tell who's about to break through, months before it happens. It isn't instinct, it's a pattern. The people who go do a very specific set of things first, in roughly the same order, and almost none of them realise they're doing it. There are seven. Plus a bonus one that means someone is about to move fast.If you've been assuming the reason you haven't broken through yet is that you're missing something enormous... this episode is for you. It's almost always one thing. Why is going quiet the strongest signal of all? What's the one filter for finding the right support, and why does everybody skip the last part of it? And which of the seven do you already have without having noticed? Everything on this list is what we build inside SCALE. The first round is a pilot, capped at twenty people.

More marketing. More patients. More procedures. More hours. More hustle. And in the beginning? That's true. But what happens when hustle stops working? In today's episode, Dr. Desiree Yazdan breaks down one of the biggest misconceptions in dentistry: the belief that the same strategies that get you to $1 million will get you to $3 million or $4 million. The reality is that many practice owners can hustle their way to a million dollars. Some can even hustle their way to $1.5 million or beyond. But eventually, hard work becomes the ceiling. The difference between a six-figure practice and a multiple seven-figure practice isn't talent, intelligence, clinical skill, or work ethic. It's leverage. If you've ever felt stuck at the same revenue year after year, overwhelmed by constant problem-solving, or like your practice can't function without you, this episode will challenge the way you think about growth, leadership, and scaling your business. In This Episode, You'll Learn: • Why hustle is necessary in the early stages of practice ownership • The hidden reason many dentists get stuck around the $1M–$1.5M mark • How the very habits that helped you grow can eventually hold you back • Why many practice owners unknowingly become the bottleneck in their business • The "Million Dollar Trap" and how it keeps practices from scaling • What Dr. Yazdan calls "Hero Syndrome" and why dentists are especially vulnerable to it • The most expensive sentence a practice owner can say: "It's easier if I do it myself" • How constantly solving problems for your team creates dependency instead of leadership • Why more CE, more clinical skills, and more expertise aren't always the answer to growth • The mindset shift that separates million-dollar owners from multi-million-dollar owners • Why leverage—not effort—is the key to sustainable scaling • The role systems, accountability, and leadership play in creating a practice that grows without relying on the owner • Why control can become one of the biggest obstacles to growth • How learning to trust your team can unlock the next level of success • The simple question that reveals where your practice is overly dependent on you Ready to Take It to the Next Level? Thanks to our partners Promotive, WickedFile, Maverick Shop Owners, and OverdryveWhy are less than 10% of shops operating within even 40% of what they're actually capable of? And if throwing more money at your technicians won't fix your productivity problem, what will?Hunt Demarest sits down with Chris Cotton of AutoFix Shop Coaching, fellow multi-shop owner and host of The Weekly Blitz, to translate this year's Auto Shop Benchmark Report into real, actionable advice. Chris breaks down the three real barriers to productivity, the technician, the environment, and leadership, and walks through the shop floor fixes that took one client from $180,000 a month to $350,000, and another from under $200,000 to nearly $400,000. Along the way, Hunt and Chris dig into why fewer than 20% of technicians today are actually money motivated, why flat rate isn't the productivity silver bullet most owners assume it is, and why the fastest way to fix a struggling shop is almost never to yell at the guys in the back.Whether you're staring at a productivity number you don't understand or you already suspect your shop is leaving money on the table, this episode is a practical field guide to turning benchmark data into a better bottom line.Get the FREE 2026 Auto Shop Benchmark Report: https://hubs.ly/Q04j-grh0The Weekly Blitz with Chris Cotton: Weekly Inspiration with Business Coach Chris Cotton from AutoFix - Auto Shop Coaching. What You'll Learn…03:49 Track it, measure it, fix it, why coaching outperforms data alone06:44 The three real barriers to productivity: tech, environment, leadership08:24 The diesel shop step-counter experiment12:28 The Rochester shop that went from $180K to $350K a month17:04 The $90 consultation fee that stopped diag from bleeding money21:57 Why fewer than 10% of shops hit 40% of their real capacity26:43 Why 50% of top shops are hourly, not flat rate, and pay isn't everything30:22 The flexibility that keeps a top tech loyal without a raise33:45 Car counts, layoffs, and the hard call every owner eventually faces36:38 How to get a free 30-minute shop consultation with ChrisThanks to our partner, PromotivePromotive has over 40 years of recruiting and automotive experience. You've felt it. That sense that there's more in you than what's coming out of you. You can't see it, can't measure it, can't explain it — you just know it's there. Here's what most people never learn: that power doesn't go dormant when you ignore it. It builds. And unused power doesn't stay neutral. It turns into stress, restlessness, short answers, and tension you end up handing to the people closest to you.In this episode, I open up about the frequencies I started hearing in 2023, the three years it took before someone finally explained what they were, and what I've come to understand about the invisible power every one of us is carrying. We break down three things you were born with and were never taught to name: your drive, your force, and your power.WHAT WE COVERDrive, force, and power — what each one actually is, why they're not the same thing, and why power is the one that controls the other two.Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18 — the keys of the kingdom, what binding and loosing really means, and why agreement with one other person changes everything.Native vs. outside — why we were all trained to chase skills on the outside when the real work is looking within, and how comparison guarantees you lose the game of life.I also share my own drive (freedom), my own gift, and why disruption always follows intention — something I learned live, on this recording. If you've been carrying power you don't know how to use, this one's for you. Thanks to our Partners, Pico Technology, and AutelWatch Full Video EpisodeHow much freedom should an automotive professional have to deviate from published service information? In this episode of Automotive Field Theory, Matt Fanslow digs into that question after a recent discussion involving ADAS procedures and Ford brake caliper fasteners that service information specifically instructs technicians to remove and discard. The debate isn't really about one set of bolts. It's about the level of confidence we sometimes have in deciding that a procedure isn't necessary when we don't actually know why the manufacturer specified it in the first place.Matt compares following service information to insurance and personal protective equipment. Most days, neither appears necessary. You don't buy insurance because you expect to crash every day, and you don't wear PPE because something goes wrong every time you use it. They're there for the rare day when something does go badly wrong. That same idea applies to automotive repair.Millions of repairs may survive a shortcut without consequence. A rope-style tire plug may last the remaining life of the tire. A reused fastener may never loosen. A skipped calibration may never produce an obvious complaint. But is a history of getting away with something the same as evidence that the procedure wasn't necessary?Topics DiscussedFord service information calling for certain brake fasteners to be removed and discardedThe difficulty of finding documentation explaining why Ford requires replacementWhether thread locker, bolt coatings, fastener design, or another factor could be behind the requirementWhy the absence of an explanation doesn't automatically justify ignoring the procedureRisk management in automotive repairThe difference between something working and something being an approved repairRope-style tire plugs versus manufacturer-approved tire repair proceduresLegal exposure when a repair deviates from accepted or published proceduresOE versus aftermarket ADAS calibration equipment and proceduresWhy following the OE procedure provides an inherently defensible positionWhen departing from an OEM diagnostic trouble tree may be reasonableThe difference between deviating from a diagnostic process and deviating from a safety-related assembly procedureAdding something such as thread locker to improve robustness versus eliminating a required stepThe criticism sometimes directed toward specialists who follow service informationWhy experience alone doesn't necessarily demonstrate that a specified procedure is unnecessaryPPE, insurance, and service procedures as protection against the exceptionally bad dayKey Takeaways“I've always done it this way” isn't the same as knowing why the procedure exists.A repair method can work hundreds or thousands of times without demonstrating that the manufacturer's requirement was unnecessary. There are different kinds of deviations from service information.Skipping steps in a diagnostic trouble tree because you understand the system and can perform more efficient testing isn't necessarily comparable to ignoring a torque specification, calibration requirement, preparation procedure, or instruction to replace a fastener.Following the published procedure is also a form of risk management. The value of the procedure may not reveal itself during the thousands of repairs where nothing goes wrong. Its value may be on the one repair where something does.Doing exactly what the manufacturer published is difficult to criticize. There may be legitimate aftermarket alternatives and there may even be procedures that can be improved upon. But if someone performs the repair exactly as the manufacturer specifies, criticizing them for being unnecessarily cautious is difficult to justify. The QuestionIf service information specifically says to discard and replace a component but doesn't explain why, what level of evidence should be required before we decide that replacement isn't actually necessary? And if documentation exists from Ford explaining why these particular fasteners must be replaced, or providing an approved procedure for their reuse, Matt wants to see it.Thanks to our Partner, Pico TechnologyAre you chasing elusive automotive problems? What if you could trade the burnout of the school system for a flexible schedule, a slower pace, and time to actually enjoy your work? Today's guest did exactly that and her story is proof that it's never too late to design a career that truly fits you.I'm so excited to introduce you to Heather Danielkiewicz, a speech-language pathologist and the founder of Momma D. SLP, based in Plainwell, Michigan. Heather is also a member of our Next Level program, and let me tell you, her energy, her heart, and her clinical expertise are absolutely inspiring. After nearly two decades in the schools, Heather knew she needed a change. She was burning out, craving flexibility, and longing for space to breathe. Switching to private practice not as a full-time leap, but as a gradual, intentional shift has given her exactly that. Today, she works part-time in the schools and runs her own practice across the street from her home, with a schedule that actually allows her to think, create, and serve her clients the way she's always wanted to.In this episode, Heather shares how she got her start in speech pathology, how one moment literally shined for her as a sign, and why she finally took the leap into private practice.Heather has been an SLP for 24 years, with the majority of her career spent in school-based roles supporting preschool through elementary students. During that time, she developed a deep interest in the connection between oral language and literacy skills and received additional training to support language, writing, and reading development within her SLP role. Her experience also spans inpatient rehabilitation, private practice, and supervising graduate students for several summers at Western Michigan University. She is passionate about collaborative, relationship-centered care, and she is building an integrated private practice focused on meaningful communication and literacy outcomes for children and families.Outside of patient care, Heather is a proud mom who understands firsthand the importance of work-life balance and she's committed to mentoring the next generation of SLPs along the way.In Today's Episode, We Discuss:How a chance encounter with a graduate student and a book changed the trajectory of her careerThe power of investing in yourself and your business, even when it feels scaryHow she's intentionally shrinking her life to create more white space, flexibility, and joy while still serving kids with DLD, autism, and ADHD in a deeply meaningful wayHeather's story is such a beautiful reminder that you don't have to have it all figured out to start. You don't have to leave your full-time job overnight. You just have to take one small step and keep listening to what feels right for you and your nervous system. If you're ready to stop waiting and start building a practice that's truly aligned with your goals, Private Practice School is here to help. We start with a Personalized Private Practice Plan and then give you the tools, such as the Life First calendar and our Numbers Made Simple Calculators, and me in your corner every week, whether you're opening the doors or growing what you've already built. Please visit www.PrivatePracticeSchool.com to learn more, and follow me on Instagram @independentclinician for more tips, inspiration, and resources to support your private practice journey.Resources Mentioned:Follow Heather on Instagram: instagram.com/mommadslp/Check out her website: mommadslp.clientsecure.meWhere We Can Connect:Follow the Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/private-practice-success-stories/id1374716199Follow Me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/independentclinician/Follow Me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jena.castrocasbon/

He challenges believers to manage favoritism, manipulation, unhealthy appetites, and short-term decisions so they do not sacrifice the future God has prepared for temporary satisfaction.

Thanks to our Partners, NAPA Auto Care and NAPA TRACS Watch Full Video Episode Why are so many employees disengaged at work, and what can leaders do about it? Dr. JJ Peterson explores how business leaders can cure employee disengagement by applying the StoryBrand framework to their management style. The episode addresses a massive workplace crisis: roughly 80% to 90% of the American workforce identifies as disengaged, meaning they are stressed, disconnected, and not giving their best. Because a boss can impact an employee's mental health even more than a therapist, Dr. Peterson argues that leaders have a profound responsibility to show up in a way that positively impacts their team. What You'll Learn Why most employees disengage and what leaders can do to change it.The four workplace character roles: Victim, Villain, Hero, and Guide. Why great leaders stop trying to be the hero and instead help their employees succeed. How empathy and authority work together to build trust and accountability. Why people want to feel they matter more than they want to feel motivated. How defining purpose and creating a shared story strengthens company culture. Why repairing relationships after mistakes builds lasting trust and psychological safety. Dr. Peterson notes that people don't wake up wanting to be motivated; they wake up wanting to matter. Leaders must clearly communicate two things to make employees feel they matter: why the company's work is important (e.g., alleviating severe stress for customers with broken down cars) and why the individual's specific role in that mission is valuable. Similarly, true company culture is not about having snacks in a breakroom; it is about intentionally building a shared story where everyone knows their roles, values, and what success looks like.
