One of WWII's lesser-known horrors, Japan's secret biological warfare testing program is so brutal and inhumane that it's hard to believe it could ever happen. And at its helm was a twisted microbiologist Shiro Ishi. Victims, known inside as “logs”, were injected and exposed to countless pathogens including typhoid, cholera, and the plague, then watched like lab rats as they were gripped by the diseases. Even in their last moments, the poor souls stuck inside Unit 731 weren't safe, as they were cut open and examined, while they were still alive…Exclusive bonus content:Wondery - Ad-free & ShortHandPatreon - Ad-free & Bonus EpisodesFollow us on social media:YouTubeTikTokInstagramVisit our website:WebsiteSources available on redhandedpodcast.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Julia Lemigova slept with Adriana de Moura. The RHOM reunion bombshell heard round the world. Today we break our silence on the matter and discuss the likelihood Julia's claims are true, her motivations for outing this alleged hook up now, the shock from her cast mates and Andy, what this means for her marriage to Martina and last, but not least, what this means for Julia's future on the show. Adriana has been in the comments on social all week claiming this is not true and what she plans to reveal tomorrow night when Part Two of the RHOM reunion continues. In other news, Scheana Shay has been one busy lady engaged in more feuds - Lala, Tamra - than when she was a regular on a hit Bravo show. Scheana comes with a whole slew of receipts this week but Lala says, not so fast. Last, but certainly not least, Porsha Williams reveals she is dating a girl and a guy. On that note, we offer some advice, unsolicited, to Kyle Richards and wonder if we will see any of this next season on RHOA. @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope  BROUGHT TO YOU BY: RO - ro.co/velvet (For Prescription Compounded GLP-1s and Your Free Insurance Check) INDEED - indeed.com/velvet (Seventy Five Dollar $75 Sponsored Job Credit To Get Your Jobs More Visibility) MOOD - www.mood.com/velvet (20% Off With Code Velvet on Federally Legal THC Shipped Right To Your Door) ADVERTISING INQUIRIES - Please contact David@advertising-execs.com MERCH Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of Scratch, Eric chats with Will Pearson, Co-Founder of Ocean Bottle, the brand turning reusable bottles into vehicles for global impact. One of the biggest takeaways from Will's story is how Ocean Bottle has made impact completely non-negotiable in its business model; every purchase is tied directly to measurable change. Rather than chasing the traditional direct-to-consumer routes, the brand leaned into B2B partnerships as its true growth engine, scaling faster through collaborations like Ed Sheeran's tour than through paid ads. Will also highlights that in a purpose-driven category, the goal isn't to outcompete others but to grow the category as a whole. Ocean Bottle's marketing reflects this mindset, relying on storytelling backed by proof, from the Change Collective initiative to transparent reporting on every kilo of plastic collected. Ultimately, the key learning for marketers is clear: purpose isn't dead; it is evolving. And partnerships are how purpose-led brands grow.Watch the video version of this podcast on Youtube ▶️: [coming soon]

The intelligence world is evolving rapidly. Former CIA officer Andrew Bustamante explains Cold War tech, Ukraine strategy, and global conflicts. [Pt. 1/2]Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1220What We Discuss with Andrew Bustamante:Number stations are still active intelligence tools. These mysterious shortwave radio broadcasts transmitting sequences of numbers remain a viable covert communication method. Using one-time pad encryption, they allow intelligence services to send untraceable messages to operatives worldwide. The receiver is nearly impossible to identify since anyone with a cheap shortwave radio could be listening, making this Cold War technology still relevant in the digital age.World War III may already be underway. According to Andrew, there are currently 161 active conflict zones globally, most involving multiple countries supporting different sides through proxy warfare. This represents a fundamentally different kind of world war — not the massive conventional battles of WWII, but an interconnected web of conflicts where nations profit economically from supporting wars without direct engagement.Russia is winning in Ukraine. Despite Western support, Russia continues to control 17-18% of Ukrainian territory and maintains consistent progress. Putin's long-term messaging strategy has been remarkably effective, and with decreasing US support, Ukraine faces an increasingly difficult position. The conflict may ultimately result in a divided nation, with reconstruction contracts becoming the real prize for both Western and Russian interests.Leaving the CIA is designed to be nearly impossible. The Agency provides zero transition assistance and maintains operatives in "leave without pay" status rather than terminating them, making it easy to return but extremely difficult to move forward. Covert officers face resume gaps they cannot explain, fake work histories that don't check out, and a cover rollback process that can take years — all designed to make former officers fail and return.International experience creates unique opportunities and safety nets. Whether it's obtaining dual citizenship for your children, understanding how to navigate corrupt systems (like ducking into upscale hotels owned by powerful people when police hassle you), or recognizing that Americans abroad often receive preferential treatment, global exposure provides tangible advantages. Part two will explore more about modern espionage, global conflict, and what it means for the rest of us.And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! James Moorer is a screenwriter whose path into Hollywood began with early experiments in short films and years of disciplined study. Starting out as a PA, he worked his way up while sharpening his craft through seminars, classes, and relentless writing. He quickly learned that screenwriting is more than just putting words on the page — it's also about understanding the business side of the industry and building credibility step by step. His philosophy is simple: every script, meeting, or assignment should “move the needle” toward progress, even if the rewards aren't immediate. What sets James apart is his focus on relationships and professionalism. He believes that a writer's reputation is as important as their work, and that openness to feedback separates amateurs from professionals. This approach helped him secure management with Purple Skull, not through cold queries, but through trust and collaboration. By embracing notes and staying consistent in both writing and networking, James shows that screenwriting success isn't about one big break, but about persistence, adaptability, and steady growth in the craft and the business.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/indie-film-hustle-a-filmmaking-podcast--2664729/support.

Send us a textOk, so you know how most people think of mall walking as the thing your grandma does in her pastel tracksuit, swinging her arms while passing Sears for the 18th time? Well, my guest today, Krista Katwood, has taken that concept, cranked it to 11, and turned it into a full-on community movement that's now making headlines everywhere from People Magazine to The Kelly Clarkson Show.Krista absolutely hated exercise; like, the idea of a treadmill gave her panic attacks (same, girl). But she also wanted to move her body in a way that didn't feel like torture. Enter: mall walking. Except Krista doesn't just shuffle quietly down the corridors. She's rocking a neon windbreaker onesie, blasting 80s jams, and leading a literal mischief of mall rats (yes, that's the collective noun for rats and it's glorious) through Portland's Lloyd Center mall.We talk about why making movement fun and ridiculous might actually be the secret to sticking with it, how malls are becoming unlikely hubs for community revival, and yes, why cheering someone on for eating an Auntie Anne's pretzel mid-walk is exactly the kind of fitness vibe we need more of.This episode is about joy, community, and finding a way to move your body that you actually look forward to. Krista proves that fitness doesn't have to be about punishing workouts or chasing some arbitrary number. It can be about connection, silliness, and blasting “Eye of the Tiger” while you ride an escalator like it's your personal runway show. What's Inside:How Krista hacked her hatred of exercise into a fitness movement that stuckThe five hilarious but genius rules of mall walking (spoiler: you must pump your arms)Why revitalizing “dead malls” might actually be a public health winThe surprising community-building magic of silly fitness ritualsSo here's my question for you. What would fitness feel like if you stopped trying to force yourself into something you hate and instead leaned into joy? What would your version of the “ridiculous but sustainable” movement look like? Message me on Instagram and tell me. “Secret agents don't get found, and closed mouths don't get fed.” It's more than a catchphrase; it's a survival strategy for today's market.  In an environment where inventory is scarce, clients are cautious, and other agents are everywhere, invisibility will keep you from earning more.  If you aren't proactively creating opportunities, asking for business, and showing up where consumers are, you'll get overlooked every time. That's why differentiation isn't a luxury; it's the core of winning in real estate right now.  And the sharpest ways to position yourself apart from the competition aren't the ones most agents think about.  Social media isn't just a branding tool; it's a live feed of consumer behavior. AI isn't a toy; it can turn one bad listing photo into a winning expired pitch.  Consistency isn't boring; it's the edge that compounds when your competitors give up. So how do you stop being invisible in this market? How can you create a blue ocean strategy for yourself?  I was featured on Knolly Williams' Success With Listings Podcast, and we discussed what it really takes to succeed in real estate today.    Things You'll Learn In This Episode  Social media as real-time consumer intelligence Clients reveal their needs online every day. How can you use their digital footprints to update your CRM, build trust, and stay two steps ahead of competitors? The 2006 wake-up call that changed everything When consumer internet use jumped from 2% to 80%, agents who ignored it disappeared. How do you make sure you're showing up where buyers and sellers are actually looking today? AI as your expired-listing superpower You can use a custom GPT to take one photo, generate staging recommendations, and create “after” images in minutes. How can you turn AI into a unique selling proposition that wins listings your competitors overlook? The adoption gap = your blue ocean Only 15% of adults use ChatGPT, and even fewer pay for Plus. How does this low adoption create a massive competitive edge for the agents who lean in now?   Guest Bio Knolly Williams, known as "The Business Healer," is a bestselling author, international speaker, and real estate broker who specializes in helping homeowners sell smarter and coaching real estate agents to build thriving businesses with less stress. Knolly is the author of the national bestsellers Success with Listings and 3 Hours a Day, a McGraw-Hill-published book that teaches entrepreneurs how to multiply their income while doing less.

BEST OF TST: The Antarctica Effect is a series of stories from lost ecosystems and strange radio signals to pyramids that have been published as just happening, when a quick online search will prove that these same stories have appeared over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. In some instances going back over a decade in the case of the Antarctica pyramid. Due to its remoteness and extreme environment, few ever venture there with few exceptions for science or military projects. Several countries have territorial claims in the ice; others have research stations. It is the perfect location to set a science fiction story, a tale of desolation and horror, or a theory of UFOs and lost civilization. In 1936 H.P. Lovecraft published “At he Mountains of Madness”; two years later in 1938 a book called “Who Goes There?” was published; that same year Neuschwabenland was explored by Germany; in 1951 “The Thing from Another World” was released, based on the 1938 book, which lead to the 1982 movie “The Thing”; In 1998 The X Files movie released; and in 2008 a mocking documentary was published online with images that became source material for Antarctica conspiracy theories. Those theories expanded after Lake Vostok produced evidence of 3,500 different species, resulting in leading authorities visiting the icy world; this story was later substituted with authorities traveling to see the UFO in ice, the same one from that mocking documentary. Then whistleblowers surfaced talking about weapons and technology that were already public knowledge, leading to a thought that perhaps there is something there and people, for the wrong reasons, were getting close, thus requiring the presence of disinformation and misinformation agents, just as the pentagon used UFOs to cover up development of the F-117.*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements.
