When it comes to sex, we often think about safety and pleasure as being at odds with one another. But it doesn’t have to be this way. In this episode, we’re talking about some new Kinsey Institute research looking at people’s experiences with Lorals for Protection, a product designed to offer both protection and pleasure during oral sex. I am joined by Dr. Cynthia Graham, a senior scientist at the Kinsey Institute. She is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Sex Research and conducts research on a number of important sexual health topics. Some of the specific areas we explore in this show include: Why do discussions about safer sex almost always leave oral sex out of the equation? Oral sex is often thought of as a low- or no-risk activity, but is that really the case? How come dental dams never really caught on? How does Lorals offer something different compared to other barrier methods? How can we help people to maximize both pleasure and safety during sexual activity? The Kinsey Institute is where the world turns to understand sex and relationships. Now, you can help continue its expert-led research. This month, the Match Group is offering an incredible 2:1 match for all gifts to the Kinsey Institute Research Fund. Learn more and make a donation here: https://knsy.in/giftmatch Got a sex question? Even among Holocaust researchers, this subject is taboo. Starting in 1942, the Nazis set up brothels inside some of the camps, not for the guards, but for the prisoners. What was the point of these brothels? Who were the women forced to work there? And who were the prisoners who visited them?In this episode we find out from Robert Sommer, author of 'The Concentration Camp Brothel: Forced Sexual Labor under Nazi Rule'. Over 10 years, Robert scoured 70 archives and spoke with 30 survivors to bridge this important gap in the history of the Holocaust. This episode was edited by Tim Arstall and produced by Sophie Gee. The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
In this Dad Edge Podcast episode, I'm joined by Joel Staley, husband, father, and fasting expert—but the real story here isn't about weight loss. It's about the emotional and relational weight men carry and how mastering the physical body can help men show up more powerfully for their families. We unpack Joel's transformation from feeling “fluffy” and distracted to leading his wife and kids with presence and purpose. Joel doesn't hold back when talking about how his physical condition was limiting his energy, sex drive, self-respect, and ultimately his connection at home. This isn't a gimmicky fitness episode—it's a raw look at what happens when a man decides he's no longer okay with coasting. EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS [0:00] – Joel's wake-up call and early struggles with self-image [4:18] – Feeling physically present but emotionally absent as a dad [8:20] – Why getting shredded wasn't the real goal [12:03] – How fasting gave him structure, confidence, and clarity [16:55] – Leading your family starts with leading yourself [20:41] – Joel's marriage breakthrough through vulnerability [24:18] – Sex drive, shame, and physical transformation [28:36] – Teaching his kids about delayed gratification and purpose [33:02] – The real impact of watching your dad take care of himself [37:14] – Daily disciplines that keep him grounded and focused [40:57] – Joel's final challenge for every dad listening 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. When You Lead Yourself, You Lead Better at Home Joel discovered that when he took full ownership of his physical health, it cascaded into better decisions, emotional presence, and connection with his family. 2. Your Body is a Spiritual and Emotional Instrument Getting fit wasn't just about looking good—it gave Joel the energy and confidence to show up for his wife and kids like never before. 3. Fasting Is a Discipline That Builds Mental Toughness Joel explains how structured fasting helped him reclaim control and break unhealthy patterns that were sabotaging his time and attention at home. 4. Physical Change Can Spark Relational Breakthroughs As Joel got healthier, his marriage improved—not because of appearance, but because of how he began showing up with integrity and consistency. 5. Your Kids Notice Everything Joel shares how his daughters now see him as someone who takes care of himself and others—and how that's creating a new generational standard. Sex Within Marriage Podcast : Exploring Married Sexuality from a Christian Perspective
SWM 154 - Sex before marriage - when you remove covenant from intimacy. Check out the blog post here for more details and links. In my last episode, I talked about how sex is an act of worship because having sex, the way God intended, gives worth to Him. It honours what He created by using it as He intended. However, our society is doing its best to invert that by taking away elements of God's plan so as to distort sex. To make it not something that's worship and creative, but rather destructive to ourselves, to each other, and to society as a whole. So, today we're going to explore sex outside of marriage, or what happens when you remove the covenant from sexual intimacy. And to be clear, the legal status of the relationship is not the big problem here. It's the intentional lifelong monogamous commitment to each other. Arguably, many marriages in the Bible are considered marriages simply because they had sex. However, sex is meant to seal a covenant, not substitute for one.Links in this podcast episode:Marriage CoachingSpeak at an event or churchArticle as a PDF (without mention of UncoveringIntimacy.comPodcast mp3Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TwitterIf you'd like to discuss the questions as they come in, consider joining our private forum.Thank you to all our faithful supporters! If you like that there are no ads in our podcast and want to keep it that way, check out our support page for more info. In this episode, Pete Holmes explains his practice of saying “Yes, Thank You” and how he practices non-resistance, a way of letting life be what it is instead of fighting it. Pete is well known from his long running podcast, You Made It Weird, and his book Comedy, Sex, God. Both mix humor with deep spiritual reflection, and this conversation explores that very same space. He discusses letting go of willpower-driven faith, embracing mystery, and finding joy in the very moments we usually resist.Exciting News!!! Most people in long-term relationships think their sex life could be better. So what can you do if you and your partner don't really seem to be in synch anymore when it comes to sex? In today’s show, we’re going to explore how to respark your sexual connection. We'll also dive into the topic of sexual initiation, including how we can learn to initiate in ways that are actually going to stimulate desire in our partners. I am joined once again by Dr. Rebecca Howard Eudy, an AASECT-certified sex therapist who helps couples navigate sex, desire, and connection. She is also author of the new book Parents in Love: A Great Guide to Sex After Kids. Some of the specific topics we explore in this episode include: What is sensate focus, and how can it be a beneficial practice in relationships? How can we get better at initiating sex? What are some ways for us to learn more about our own desires? Why is it important to expand our definition of sex and bring more creativity into the bedroom? Both hosts are getting an MRI soon, and now they're worried because some dude got killed by a machine recently when he wore a necklace into the MRI room. We hear what really happened today. We speculate about what we would get arrested for if we ever get arrested. Susie recounts the time she almost went to jail over breakfast, and Sarah claims she almost had to sue someone over mismatched carpet. Sarah watched an incredible documentary, and we can't believe what the topic of it is: extreme birdwatching. We learn why these birders are very competitive, strict with the rules, and are willing to spend a lot of money looking to see more species. Hear about the birding scandal that rocked their "honor system" and what they think about apps that help you identify and track birds.Brain Candy Podcast Presents: Susie & Sarah's SpOoOoOoOoktacular Spectacle, October 30, Oriental Theater, Denver, Colorado: Get your tickets! With techniques that have her inbox flooded with exclamation points, Susan dismantles everything you thought you knew about penetrative sex. Discover why rushing is killing your pleasure, what ancient Daoists knew about rhythm that porn never taught you, and the counterintuitive move that makes orgasm easier (hint: it's not what you're doing now). Susan explains the arousal gap nobody talks about, reframes the vagina in a way that will change how you touch it, and teaches the "Heart Tongue" approach that transforms mechanical sex into connection. A 50-year-old man asks why his girlfriend can't climax during sex despite trying everything. A 25-year-old wonders if she's ever actually had an orgasm and why "squirting" feels like nothing. Susan guides both through tissue activation, sacred self-pleasure, and why the entrance to the vagina needs to be courted, not conquered. Susan claims her best sex ever and credits specific practices for looking a decade younger than her peers. She shares the "Lips-Nips-Clit Axis," why opening matters more than tightening, and her most-thanked technique involving a 10-count that toggles the nervous system. If you've been chasing sensation instead of connection, this episode rewrites the playbook. Timestamps:

In the new movie Sovereign, actor Nick Offerman plays an extremist who doesn't believe in the legitimacy of the Federal government. In real life, Nick comes from a small-town political family. His father is the mayor of Minooka, Illinois, and his uncle is on the village board. In this episode Nick talks about choosing roles, how he's different from his family, his love of teaching woodworking and the profound influence of poet Wendell Berry.
