Mea Culpa welcomes back to the show, legendary newsman David Corn, the Washington DC Bureau Chief of Mother Jones, and an on-air analyst for MSMBC. Corn and Michael Isikoff “co-authored, “Russian Roulette, The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump”. He's also the author of four New York Times best-selling books and was the long-time Washington editor for “The Nation”. For a good read, check out “Our Land” — his twice-weekly newsletter that covers everything from news of the day to entertainment, but all told in Corn's no bullshit style. Corn has been published multiple times, but his latest bestseller,” American Psychosis: A Historical Investigation of How the Republican Party Went Crazy” is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding our unprecedented times. He joins us today amidst unprecedented dysfunction in American government as the GOP continues for a third week without a House speaker, paralyzed by infighting between moderate and extremist factions of the GOP. On top of this, former President Trump awaits four separate criminal trials and has all but dared Judge Chuktan to jail him for violating his gag order. All the while war rages in Israel and Ukraine. It seems we are drifting without a rudder and American credibility is suffering.

Ryan is joined by longtime UFO researcher, defense contractor, and Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) board member Rich Hoffman for an in-depth conversation covering the past, present, and future of UAP research. He shares how an eighth-grade science assignment launched a lifetime of investigations that would eventually bring him into contact with Project Blue Book personnel, Dr. J. Allen Hynek, Stanton Friedman, and many of the pioneers who shaped modern ufology. The discussion explores Hoffman's work with MUFON's STAR Team, his decades supporting the U.S. Army and defense technology programs, the creation of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, and why collaboration between scientists, governments, and civilian researchers is more important than ever. They also dive into the upcoming SCU Conference in Toronto, the Aguadilla UAP investigation, advances in AI and UAP detection, the latest War.gov document releases, and whether humanity is any closer to genuine disclosure. Y'all. Wednesday was not a weird day for this administration. It was a normal day, and that is the whole problem.Donald Trump canceled a bipartisan housing bill that would have lowered rent for millions of people. He killed the signing ceremony hours before it happened because he wants Congress to pass the SAVE Act first. That is voter suppression dressed up as a national emergency. He is holding your housing relief hostage. And his own supporters are in the replies typing thank you, daddy like that is a normal response to a man torching your rent relief.Same day he got into a screaming match with a Republican senator, called him a lunatic, then asked Congress for another eighty seven point six billion dollars for his Iran war that nobody voted for and that even Tucker Carlson is now calling him weak over. He threw himself a Ferris wheel party on the National Mall for America's two hundred fiftieth birthday while the Reflecting Pool stayed green behind him. The Supreme Court handed him a win that makes it easier to strand asylum seekers in danger over a technicality about which side of an imaginary line their toes are touching. My home state of Tennessee put up a granite headstone for fetuses on the Capitol lawn while ranking forty seventh in the country at keeping actual mothers alive. And the Democrats spent the week calling the candidates their own voters are actually excited about dirtbags. This episode goes through every receipt. The housing bill hostage situation. The court losses that forced him to Plan B. The Iran war bill. The self inflicted birthday party. The Supreme Court rulings that will get people killed. Tennessee's monument to control. And why the Democratic establishment is more afraid of its own base than it is of any of this. Let's go. Keywords: Trump housing bill, SAVE Act, voter suppression, thank you daddy, MAGA replies, Iran war funding, Supreme Court metering, asylum seekers, border policy, Tennessee maternal mortality, Monument to Unborn Children, Democratic socialists, John Fetterman, dirtbag left, democratic socialists primaries, Trump fitness, Reflecting Pool green, America 250, JD Vance, presidential chaosSupport the show with no ads and no sponsors at patreon.com/wesawthedevil. I'm revisiting one of my favorite conversations with bestselling author Steven Pressfield, whose wisdom on fear, resistance, and creativity has inspired millions. If you've been sitting on an idea, delaying your next move, or wondering why the work that matters most feels the hardest to begin, this episode will give you the perspective—and the push—you need. When Steven Pressfield published The Legend of Bagger Vance, many called him an overnight success. What they didn't see were the 30 years of failed novels, unproduced screenplays, and stretches of homelessness that came before it.Few conversations left an impact on me as this one did. Steven is now in his eighties and still creating, doing what he loves, and showing no signs of stopping. I never thought about fear the same after this podcast, thanks to Steven's words. His debut novel, The Legend of Bagger Vance, was made into a film starring Matt Damon and Will Smith. His other novel, Gates of Fire, is required reading at West Point. Before his breakthrough at 52, he spent decades failing as a novelist and screenwriter, at times living out of his car. Air Date: 6/24/2026 The Monthly-ish Mix™ is here to get you caught up on recent news without being overwhelming! If you've been pulling back from the news for your own sanity, this one's built for you — a quick recap and reference guide to the past month or two, organized around a single idea: when power can't earn legitimacy, it manufactures it. The performance. Spectacle, religion, and health branding standing in for real consent: Trump collecting a FIFA "peace prize," Christian nationalism worn as a costume the actual church refuses to bless, and RFK Jr. dressing up a gutted vaccine agenda as "moderate," scapegoating immigrants as he goes, while the USAID cuts run up a body count. The machinery. The infrastructure that keeps the performance going while real consent drains away underneath: a legal system bent toward self-dealing and a $1.8 billion slush fund, billionaire money rewriting the rules since Citizens United, an AI gold rush sold as inevitable before anyone voted on it, and an economy booming on paper while the ground shifts under everyone's feet. The vacuum and the reclaiming. What rushes in when legitimacy collapses, from normalized political violence to a manifesto born of that collapse — and then the democratic answer: why the rupture hasn't come, why revolutions tend to devour themselves, and why the slower work wins. Nonviolent movements draw eleven times the participation, and the ballot box the Supreme Court is fighting hardest to narrow is the same one that just turned out 78% of Hungary to remove Orbán. Then, strategic communications analyst Anna Varfolomeeva of the Cognitive Security Institute joins the show to discuss her War on the Rocks report exposing the deep systemic rot inside the Russian military infrastructure. Varfolomeeva explains how intense Ukrainian drone innovation has ground Russia's advances down to a microscopic 23 meters a day and how a culture of institutional lying has left the state uniquely fragile. Finally, in the spiel, check the statistical baseline before falling for media sensationalism, analyzing everything from French heat-wave drownings to Pete Hegseth's military promotion blacklists. In Episode 484 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with AI policy researcher, writer, and incoming Head of Strategic Futures at OpenAI, Dean Ball, about the intellectual foundations of machine intelligence, the governance frameworks best suited to frontier AI, and what's at stake for society, the nation state, and the individual if we get this transition wrong. The first hour builds the philosophical scaffolding for the conversation to come — what intelligence actually is, how large language models learn, what they understand, and the broader historical thesis animating Dean's worldview: that we are not witnessing the birth of something entirely new, but rather living through a computing revolution that began with the transistor and is now reaching its natural culmination in the era of machine intelligence. The second hour turns to what's at stake in this transition and the governance models Dean believes are most suited to it. They begin with his conception of superintelligence — not as a singular, all-knowing entity, but as something whose power will derive largely from being embedded in the infrastructure of human civilization. From there, they examine where Dean falls along the continuum from doomer to accelerationist, what a sensible approach to AI governance actually looks like, and the real-world test case of Anthropic's dispute with the Department of War — what it reveals about tensions between private frontier AI labs and the national security state, and how Dean thinks about forging public-private governance structures adequate to the age of AI. They close by examining labor market disruption, the overproduction of elites, and which nations, societies, and individuals are best positioned to navigate the transition ahead. The Battle of the Little Bighorn is one of the most famous and most misunderstood events in American history. On June 25, 1876, Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and roughly 210 men of his immediate command were wiped out along a ridge in southeastern Montana by a massive village of Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho fighting under Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. But how did Custer really die? Did he go down fighting, was he killed trying to reach the river, or did he take his own life to avoid capture? And did the warriors who killed him even know who he was? Also discussed is the entire chain of events that led to Custer's Last Stand, from the Lakota claim to the sacred Black Hills and the broken Fort Laramie treaties, through Sand Creek, Red Cloud's War, and the Black Hills gold rush, to the three-column campaign of 1876.   00:00:00 Introduction

Thought process   Thought process   5 title options Vacationing With Kids (Without Pretending It's a Vacation) — clear, evergreen, leads with the reframe. (My top pick — you said you'll reference this every summer, so the title should say exactly what it is and survive out of season.) Why Your Family "Vacation" Isn't Actually a Vacation — the reframe as the hook You're Probably Not Going to Enjoy It (And That's Okay) — pattern-interrupt, very you Treat the Trip Like a Business Trip — leads with the practical metaphor How to Travel With Little Kids and Still Love Yourself Full show notes below using the top pick. Title: Vacationing With Kids (Without Pretending It's a Vacation) Every summer it happens. You pack up the little kids, drive to the beach or the grandparents, and somewhere around day three in an unfamiliar Airbnb with no blackout curtains and a toddler who won't sleep, you wonder why you thought this would be fun. Sterling Jaquith has a reframe that changes the whole thing: stop calling it a vacation. In this evergreen episode you can come back to before any trip, Sterling walks through why little kids won't remember the vacation anyway, what they do remember, and the three honest questions to ask before you go. It's permission to stop chasing "relaxing" with a houseful of tired, dysregulated humans, and to plan the trip like the world's best personal assistant instead. Because the answer, through all of it, is always love. Including love for yourself. WHAT WE COVER IN THIS EPISODE: Why calling it a "vacation" is the first trap, and treating the trip like a business trip with a mission and a plan instead The honest truth that you may not enjoy it with little kids, and why that doesn't mean anything has gone wrong The three questions to ask before you go: What's my mission? What three feelings am I actually going for? How do I set myself up for those? Creating novelty on the cheap (crazy straws, Goodwill toys, stovetop popcorn, pop rocks, and the screen time you'd normally say no to) Planning something that's just for you, whether it's before, during, or after the trip Why Catholic moms living only for everyone else isn't how God designed you, and how to love yourself hard through the hard parts EPISODE TIMELINE: [00:00] – Why this is your reference episode for every future summer, holiday, and spring break [04:00] – "I don't think you can enjoy it." The coaching conversation that started this [08:00] – What kids actually remember, and why Sterling makes a photo book every year [12:00] – The three questions: mission, the top three feelings, and setting yourself up to feel them [16:00] – Creating novelty, building in real breaks, and planning something for you [19:00] – The answer is always love, and why God doesn't want you at the end of your rope LINKS AND RESOURCES MENTIONED: Rhythm of War which is Book 4 of the Stormlight Series by Brandon Sanderson (the audiobook Sterling and her husband listened to on their cross-country drive): https://amzn.to/4w34nwC Calm Catholic Kids (Summer of Kindness stories free now, Collections 4 and 5 coming soon): https://calmcatholickids.com CONNECT WITH STERLING JAQUITH: Website: https://catholicmomcalm.com Connect on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/catholicmomcalm

Subscribe to our YouTube channel On our political radar this week… AI created satire (in case you couldn’t figure that out!) There are dead ducks everywhere. In Switzerland, it could well be J.D. Vance's presidential ambitions as the 60-day pause in Trump's War is looking shakier by the day. In Lansing, it's the almost invisible but now dead campaign of state Senate GOP Leader Aric Nesbitt's gubernatorial campaign, with the final blow coming from Donald Trump. And in the nation's capitol, it's literally dead ducks … at least three of them spotted in the Trump-created algae-laden cesspool also known as the Reflecting Pool. In addition to the Nesbitt departure, there are a few other developments in the GOP race for Governor. Donald Trump has given is “Full and Complete Endorsement” to John James, and Perry Johnson is spending more of his millions on a massive statewide advertising blitz. Expect Mike Cox to do the same State House Speaker Matt Hall says there's agreement on a framework for a state budget … you might call it a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). But as Vance and the two real estate developers are learning in Switzerland, there's a big gap between an MOU and actual results. There's big news about the 250th national birthday celebration in Washington D.C. In addition to a riveting 90-minute rant from Trump, you can look forward to a performance from renowned country singer Alexis Wilson … best known for her ongoing role as Kash Patel's girlfriend. President Trump had another hissy fit this week, delaying the signing of a bipartisan housing bill. He announced he won’t sign the legislation until the Senate passes his voter suppression bill which he calls the SAVE Act. The bipartisan 21st Century Road to Housing Act, aiming to ease the U.S. housing affordability crisis by streamlining construction rules, promoting local innovation and restricting large investor purchases.  It passed by overwhelming majorities in both chambers. Trump clearly places a higher priority on voter suppression than housing for Americans who aren’t wealthy like him. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is celebrating a reversal by Homeland Security, which says it has cancelled plans to turn a warehouse in Romulus into a prison for undocumented immigrants. Former Homeland Director Kristi Noem spent more than $1-billion buying 10 warehouses … all of them for prices well above their appraised value. Taxpayers will lost hundreds-of-millions as a result of Noem's hugely unpopular program. In New York City, the Mamdani slate swept the very Democratic city. In two non-Big Apple races, the winners for Democrats included women military veterans … including Vice Admiral Jenny LaCore, who was fired last year by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as part of his purge of top military officers. She's running for the seat formerly held by Nancy Mace who opted to run for Governor (which she lost). Republicans will clearly try to brand the entire Democratic Party as captive of Mamdani Democratic Socialists. Does that work for them? And since our last episode, a celebration…but only if your name is Trump. Carvana or CarMax has delivered Donald Trump's new ride. It’s a slightly used imported gold-encrusted airplane (a.k.a. $400-million bribe from Qatar), tastefully detailed with a whole lot of electronic do-dads, all paid for by U.S. taxpayers at a cost of around a billion dollars. Trump plans to keep it as his White House going-away bauble. This moment of joy in MAGAvillemoved us to create a musical tribute to Donald's Golden Dream Machine which, for our YouTube viewers, also includes a brief photo tour of the free-but-not-really-free gift to Trump. Joining the podcast is law professor, author, podcast co-host and MS NOW legal analyst Barbara McQuade. When she's not teaching future lawyers at the University of Michigan or fulfilling her multiple media commitments, Barb is a prolific author. Her latest book's title gives a concise summary of what follows: “The Fix: Saving America from the Corruption of a Mob-Style Government.” The book is number one on the Amazon's national and international security rankings, and lucky number 13 on this week's New York Times non-fiction best sellers. Barb is pure Michigan: born in Detroit, two degrees from the University of Michigan, and a devout fan of Detroit and U of M sports teams. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Greed, Grift$ and Grab$: The Trump Crime Family Chronicles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Republic, If You Can Keep It is sponsored in part by

Day 1,580.Today, after days of memes and mounting panic across Russia, Vladimir Putin finally breaks his silence on last week's dramatic strikes on Moscow – insisting they are not a sign of vulnerability, but proof of Russian strength on the battlefield. Dom reports on the remarkable own goal from Russia's defence ministry, which appears to have done Zelensky's press office a favour by detailing just how many targets Ukrainian forces have hit in the last 24 hours. This week we take a deep dive — pun obviously intended — into the lore and psychology of Azshara, the ruler of the Naga on Azeroth. But first, we have a lighthearted question from a listener, asking for the lore justification against being able to Skyride on the sad little ghost gryphon when you're dead. I agree. This feels extra bad. Clearly there must be a lore reason why we can't.Then we turn to the bulk of the podcast, which is about Azshara and her power. How she gained such influence in the Zin Azshari empire prior to the War of the Ancients, all the way to how she ended up in the mess N'Zoth saved her from. Azshara's history is long and complex, and includes an analysis of her as a character -- what could make someone so sure they're always right? Well, when you're told you're going to be someone special by people who count from the second you're born, things kinda turn out that way sometimes. And then, we veer off into tinfoil hat territory, talking about the future and what those golden eyes might mean. Why do all her followers still follow her, anyway? If you enjoy the show, please support us on Patreon, where you can get these episodes early and ad-free! Earlier this year, we ran an essay contest on economic security. We gave entrants two prompts: What are the most important high level KPIs that policy should aim for? What is the analogy of the Fed's '2% inflation and full employment' target for economic security? Where today would you put $10-50bn to get the most for your investment in economic security? Feel free to propose both defensive and offensive ideas, and either a portfolio of ideas or the one large idea you think will deliver the most value. We ended up with a literal four-way tie for first place, with each judge giving a different essay top marks. We heard from Farrell Gregory earlier about how to spend rare earths money, and here, we'll be spotlighting the three others who went into the framework question. Joining us today — Jahara Matisek, a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force and fellow at the U.S. Naval War College; Naveen Krishnan at the Belfer Center and an intel officer in the Navy Reserve; and Guy Ward Jackson, senior policy analyst at the Tony Blair Institute in London. No one is speaking for the Air Force, the Navy, Harvard, the Naval War College, the Tony Blair Institute, or the Department of War. I'm speaking for ChinaTalk. Our conversation covers: Why economic security is really an insurance problem — you're paying people to keep factories warm, workers trained, and capacity idle for a war that may never come — and why no democracy likes paying that bill. Why the U.S. can't China-proof its economy alone — the case for a distributed allied industrial base and using allied leverage and counter-coercion as an offensive tool. What $6 billion and four years bought in artillery production, why it still wasn't enough, and how Patriot missile economics expose the danger of having exquisite weapons without industrial depth. Why you can't science your way out of a volume problem — AI, robotics, and frontier R&D are caffeine, but the U.S. is still short on food and water. Learn more about your ad choices. There's a lot on the docket today. To pull apart the Iran “deal” framework, Mary and Andrew are joined by Tess Bridgeman, an international law expert who served as a legal advisor in the Obama administration through the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. Tess lays out how President Trump's 14-point memorandum of understanding differs from what was brokered in 2015, and what to watch for as negotiations continue. Before she joins, the co-hosts begin by analyzing several examples of what Mary calls the Trump Justice Department's "consistent effort” to avoid judicial review: their refusal to put into a sworn declaration that they won't move forward with the “Anti-Weaponization” fund and a motion to dismiss a Clean Air Act violation lawsuit against Elon Musk's xAI data center in Mississippi. They also tackle a few instances where, contrastingly, the government has positioned itself “on the offense” this week, including an indictment of 15 protesters on a conspiracy charge against ICE and the DHS' intent to build a border wall through a holy landmark atop Mount Cristo Rey in New Mexico. Welcome to Day 2889 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2889 – “A Shocking Agenda”  based on Luke 9:12-27 Putnam Church Message – 05/24/2026 The Good News According to Luke: “A Shocking Agenda.”   Last week's message was “Welcome to the War,” in which we learned that as we go about our daily lives, we go in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already won the decisive victory. Today, we continue with our twenty-fourth message from Luke's narrative of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Today's message is: A Shocking Agenda.” Our core passage today is Luke 9:12-27, which is found on page 1608 of your pew Bibles. Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand 12 Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.” 13 He replied, “You give them something to eat.” They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.” 14 (About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 The disciples did so, and everyone sat down. 16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. 17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah 18 Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?” 19 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.” 20 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “God's Messiah.” Jesus Predicts His Death 21 Jesus strictly warned them not to tell this to anyone. 22 And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” 23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.” Opening Prayer Father, we come before You today with open hearts and honest minds. We thank You for the Good News of Jesus Christ, but we confess that sometimes we want the blessings of Your Kingdom without the surrender of discipleship. We want provision, but not dependence. We want victory, but not the cross. We want comfort, but not transformation. Lord Jesus, teach us today. Show us who You truly are. Help us receive Your provision with humble gratitude, confess You with courage, and follow You with obedient hearts. May we not merely admire You from a distance but walk behind You daily as faithful disciples. In Your holy name, amen. Introduction: When Jesus' Agenda Shocks Us This passage begins with one of the most familiar miracles in the ministry of Jesus: the feeding of the multitude. In fact, this is the only miracle of Jesus — aside from the resurrection — recorded in all four Gospels. That alone should make us pause. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all say, “You need to see this.” But they do not merely want us to see bread multiplied. They want us to see who Jesus is. They want us to see what kind of King He is. And they want us to see what it means to follow Him. In the previous message, “Welcome to the War,” we saw Jesus send the Twelve out with power and authority. / They proclaimed the Kingdom of God. / They healed the sick. / They cast out demons. / They came back excited, exhausted, and full of stories. / They had stepped into the battle. / They had tasted ministry. / They had seen God work through them. But now, before they can fully rest and process what happened, the crowds find Jesus again. Thousands of people come into the wilderness, bringing hunger, sickness, confusion, and need. The disciples had just returned from weeks of powerful ministry, but suddenly they face a need they cannot meet. They can preach. They can heal. They can cast out demons. But they cannot feed thousands of hungry people with five loaves and two fish. And Jesus uses this moment to teach them — and us — something vital: The disciple is not the source. /The disciple is the servant. / Jesus is the supply. But then the passage turns sharply. After feeding the crowd, Jesus asks, “Who do the people say I am?” Peter answers correctly: “You are the Messiah sent from God.” But then Jesus shocks them. He says the Messiah must suffer, be rejected, be killed, and be raised. That was not the agenda they expected. They expected victory. Jesus speaks of suffering. They expected a throne. Jesus points to a cross. They expected power over Jesus calls them to deny themselves. This is why the agenda is shocking. |We will see this agenda in our four truths today. Found in the Bulletin Insert on the side that says “A Shocking Agenda.” Main Point 1: Jesus Uses Our Inadequacy to Reveal His Sufficiency The disciples had gone with Jesus toward Bethsaida for rest. They needed it. Mark tells us that so many people were coming and going that they did not even have time to eat. Can you relate to that feeling? Maybe you have had days when you never quite get to sit down. The phone rings. Someone needs you. A problem appears. A plan changes. One need gets handled, and three more show up. The disciples were tired. They had been ministering. They had been traveling. They were probably physically drained and emotionally full. - Then the crowd arrives. Luke tells us Jesus welcomed them. He taught them about the Kingdom of God and healed those who needed healing. That fits everything we have seen in Luke so far. Jesus welcomed the sinful woman in Simon's house. He welcomed the desperate touch of the suffering woman. He welcomed the cries of Jairus. He welcomed the man tormented among the tombs. He welcomed the crowds even when they interrupted rest. But as evening approaches, the disciples see a practical problem. / The crowd is hungry. / They say, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.” That seems reasonable, doesn't it? They are not being heartless. They are being practical. They are looking at the sun going down, the size of the crowd, the remoteness of the place, and the emptiness of their hands. Then Jesus says something shocking: “You feed them.” Now imagine the disciples looking at one another. “Us?” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,”  “Do You see how many people are here?” “Even if we had money, where would we buy that much bread?” “Lord, we just came back from ministry. We are tired too.” John's Gospel tells us that Jesus already knew what He was going to do. He was testing them. / Not tempting them to fail. Testing them to grow. /He wanted them to confront the difference between their resources and His sufficiency.   Object Lesson: The Empty Basket ...

The Global Strategy of Vergennes and the French Alliance. Guest: Professor Richard Bell. French Foreign Minister Vergennes viewed the American Revolution as a strategic opportunity to weaken the British Empire and avenge losses from the Seven Years' War. He orchestrated covert aid before committing the French military in 1778, which transformed the rebellion into a global conflict spanning the Caribbean, India, and the Mediterranean. This diversification of British resources was essential to the patriot success at Yorktown. Vergennes' calculated moves forced Britain to defend its worldwide imperial assets, ultimately making the American Revolution an international struggle for power between European empires. 61770

Rob Has a Podcast | Survivor / Big Brother / Amazing Race - RHAP

Is Boston Rob the Survivor GOAT? The debate over who truly deserves the title of Survivor's greatest of all time heats up as Rob Cesternino and Mike Bloom turn the spotlight on Boston Rob Mariano. In this episode of the ongoing Survivor GOAT series, Rob and Mike dig into the long-running Survivor legend's influence on the game, examining strategy, legacy, and what it means to be the face of Survivor. With just five legends left in their countdown, this conversation dives deep into nuanced gameplay, cutthroat moves, and the lasting mark Boston Rob leaves on the franchise. Rob and Mike open the discussion by comparing Boston Rob's outsized presence to Babe Ruth's status in baseball, noting how his iconic leadership and aggressive play have shaped entire eras of Survivor. The hosts explore Rob's journey from early trailblazer in Marquesas—where he makes the shocking move to oust tribe leader Hunter Ellis—to his dominant winning game on Redemption Island. They debate whether Boston Rob's all-or-nothing style, which relies heavily on command and control, is truly the most effective path for every player. The episode also unpacks memorable moments from All Stars, including Rob's legendary deal with Lex, and contrasts his brand of gameplay with more under-the-radar winners like Vecepia Towery. The discussion turns to how Boston Rob adapts (or sometimes doesn't) in new school Survivor, including his gameplay on Winners at War and even reality competition crossovers like The Traitors. – Mike Bloom argues Boston Rob's “larger-than-life” impact and compares his influence to Survivor's host Jeff Probst – Key discussion of the infamous Lex betrayal in All Stars and whether that ruthlessness is repeatable today – Debate over Rob's ability (or inability) to pivot when the power structure shifts, especially in modern Survivor seasons – The hosts weigh the value of a style that is all agency and dominance versus quieter, adaptable strategies – Deep look at the psychological side of Boston Rob's gameplay and whether his skills are truly portable across all eras The big question lingers: Is a playstyle that's “all or nothing” really the blueprint for the next Survivor legend, or does true greatness require an adaptable game? Rob, Mike, and Survivor fans everywhere are left wondering if Boston Rob's approach can stand the test of Survivor's ever-changing landscape.
