Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off the week with conversations about creating New Year’s resolutions in God’s power. We, as followers of Christ, need to be reliant on God because without Him we can do nothing, but when we rely on Him, He helps us overcome. We turned to Titus 2:11-12, which states that the grace of God gives us the freedom, strength, and discipline to say ‘no’ to ungodliness and worldly passions. We also had Dr. Drew Dickens join us to discuss how we can prompt Artificial Intelligence to ask thought-provoking questions that prompt spiritual reflection, and he shared updates on the world of AI. Dr. Dickens is a visionary leader, AI expert, and scholar who has significantly contributed to the intersection of technology, spirituality, and faith-based engagement. His groundbreaking dissertation on the impact of generative AI on spiritual direction has positioned him as a leader in the emerging field. He is also the founder of the Encountering Peace App and Encounter Podcast, which provide biblical meditations, resources, and dialogue. Drew has also authored the book “Whispers of the Spirit: A 40-Day Guide to Intimate Prayer.” We then asked listeners, “What do you want to see God change in your life this year?” You can hear the highlights of today's program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. I never thought I'd be glued to my screen, watching the Supreme Court become the hottest ticket in town, but here we are on this crisp January morning in 2026, with President Donald Trump's legal battles dominating the headlines. Just days ago, on December 23, 2025, the justices handed down a key ruling in Trump v. Illinois, partially siding with the administration in a tense showdown over federalizing the National Guard in Illinois. The majority allowed the move, with Justice Kavanaugh writing a concurrence, while Justices Alito and Thomas dissented, arguing it overstepped state authority. According to the Brennan Center's Supreme Court Shadow Docket Tracker, this decision came after a First Circuit ruling let it stand, underscoring Trump's push to assert federal control amid rising urban unrest in Chicago. But that's just the appetizer. The real drama kicks off next week. On January 13, the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., will hear oral arguments in two massive challenges to state bans on transgender students—like those in West Virginia and Idaho—playing on sports teams matching their gender identity. KVUE News reports these cases hinge on the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause and Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools. Challengers say the bans unfairly sideline kids like Becky Pepper-Jackson in West Virginia, who's been fighting since 2021 to compete in girls' track. Then, on January 21, all eyes turn to Trump v. Cook, a blockbuster testing presidential firing powers. President Trump tried to oust Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook in August 2025, citing alleged mortgage fraud from before her 2023 appointment to the Fed's Board in Washington. A D.C. district judge blocked it, and now the Supreme Court has deferred any stay until arguments, per the official docket for case 25A312. The Constitution Center notes this stems from the Federal Reserve Act, which only allows removal "for cause," not at-will. If Trump wins, it could reshape independent agencies like the Fed, which steers the U.S. economy with trillions in influence—think interest rates affecting your mortgage or job market. These aren't isolated fights. The Court's fall term already tackled Trump v. Slaughter on firing a Federal Trade Commissioner and Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump over tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Lawfare's Trump Administration Litigation Tracker logs dozens more, from immigration deportations under the Alien Enemies Act in Trump v. J.G.G. to earlier agency head removals. With decisions due by June, the stakes couldn't be higher—executive power, civil rights, economic stability all colliding. As I sip my coffee, scrolling updates from the National Constitution Center, I can't help but wonder: will this term redefine Trump's second presidency? The justices, from Chief Justice John Roberts to the newest voices, hold the gavel. Thanks for tuning in, listeners. Come back next week for more, and this has been a Quiet Please production. Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican superstar born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is dominating headlines this week with massive announcements lighting up the music world. The NFL revealed during Sunday night's Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers game that he'll headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show in San Francisco's Bay Area in February 2026, according to AOL reports. He teased it on X in Spanish, saying he'd do just one U.S. date, then confirmed with a video of himself on a beach football goalpost, posting Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026. #AppleMusicHalftime. This caps a huge week after Grammy nominations dropped, positioning him for history. Associated Press and ClickOnDetroit note his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos earned six nods, making him the first Spanish-language artist nominated simultaneously for album, song, and record of the year. It's only the second Spanish-language album up for album of the year—after his own 2022 Un Verano Sin Ti. Experts like Vanessa Díaz from Loyola Marymount University call it a breakthrough for Latin music, especially reggaetón and Latin trap from Puerto Rico's marginalized communities, now hitting mainstream Grammy categories. The album fuses Puerto Rican folk like bomba, plena, and aguinaldo with modern trap, described by Yale's Albert Laguna as Bad Bunny's most Puerto Rican project yet, challenging global pop formulas without diluting his roots. It supports his ongoing Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour, hitting Tokyo stadiums in 2026 per Japan Travel, after selling 2.6 million tickets in a week—a record for Latin artists. These moves come amid his boycott of U.S. continental tours over ICE raids and deportations affecting Latino fans, as he told i-D Magazine, with hundreds detained in Puerto Rico since late January. Just a week before Super Bowl, the February 1 Grammys at Crypto.com Arena could cement his legacy, with professors like Petra Rivera-Rideau hoping it opens doors for other artists.Listeners, thank you for tuning in. Across dozens of conversations centered on the CISO experience, one reality keeps surfacing: the role no longer exists to protect systems in isolation. It exists to protect the business itself.Today's CISO operates at the intersection of operational risk, executive decision-making, and organizational trust. The responsibility is not just to identify threats, but to help leadership understand which risks matter, when they matter, and why they deserve attention. This shift changes what success looks like. It also changes how pressure is felt.During the early years of this transition, CISOs carry accountability without authority. They are expected to influence outcomes without always having control over budgets, priorities, or timelines. That tension forces a new skill set to the forefront. Technical knowledge is assumed. The differentiator becomes communication, translation, and relationship-building across the business. As organizations mature, the conversation evolves again. Security stops being framed around individual threats and starts being framed as an operational discipline. CISOs focus on prioritization, tradeoffs, and clarity rather than coverage for everything. This requires judgment more than tooling. The role also becomes deeply human. Fear shows up quietly. Fear of pushing too hard. Fear of slowing the business. Fear of being seen as the blocker. CISOs who succeed do not eliminate that fear. They learn how to manage it while building credibility with executive peers.AI enters the picture not as a replacement, but as a force multiplier. Automation supports scale, but judgment remains human. Security programs increasingly deny by default and permit intentionally, which demands a deep understanding of how the business actually works. That understanding cannot be automated. What emerges is a clearer definition of modern security leadership. The CISO is no longer a gatekeeper. This is a risk advisor, a translator, and a strategist who helps the organization focus its limited resources where they matter most. The role has not become easier. It has become more meaningful.Read the full article: TBA________This story represents the results of an interactive collaboration between Human Cognition and Artificial Intelligence.Enjoy, think, share with others, and subscribe to "The Future of Cybersecurity" newsletter on LinkedIn: https://itspm.ag/future-of-cybersecuritySincerely, Sean Martin and TAPE9________Sean Martin is a life-long musician and the host of the Music Evolves Podcast; a career technologist, cybersecurity professional, and host of the Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast; and is also the co-host of the On Location Event Coverage Podcast. SEO Secrets for 2026: A Deep Dive into Schema Markup, Structure, and Indexing with Favour Obasi-ike with Favour Obasi-Ike | Sign up for exclusive SEO insights.Happy New Year! This episode provides a focused, actionable roadmap for business and website owners aiming to dominate search rankings in 2026. It moves beyond basic SEO to reveal three foundational, yet often overlooked, strategies: two internal and one external.Favour synthesizes the strategy into a winning formula: Schema + Structure + Speed. A website that excels in these three areas becomes a "triple threat"—it's understood by algorithms, technically sound, and delivers a superior user experience, making it the preferred result in search.Call to Action: For professional SEO help, you can book a call at playinc.online, listen to the podcast at wedontplaypodcast.com, or contact the me via email (info@playinc.online). More resource links available below.Core Framework for 2026 SEO Success:Internal Secret #1: Master Schema MarkupWhat it is: Explicit code (microdata) that tells search engines and AI exactly what your content means (e.g., Article, FAQ, Product). Why it matters: It "future-proofs" your content by turning pages into structured assets that AI-driven search tools can understand and feature correctly. It's the essential language for communicating with modern algorithms.Internal Secret #2: Prioritize Logical Site StructureWhat it is: A clear, hierarchical blueprint for your website using heading tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) in the correct, sequential order. Why it matters: It serves both crawlers and users. It guides algorithms through your content while creating an intuitive, trustworthy experience for visitors. A confused structure repels both.External Secret: Leverage Automatic IndexingWhat it is: A technical method using an API to submit thousands of pages per day to Google, bypassing the strict 10-URL daily limit of manual submission in Search Console. Why it matters: For content-rich sites, it ensures your work is efficiently seen and indexed by Google, preventing valuable content from being overlooked.Episode Timestamps[03:30] Internal Secret #1: Master Schema MarkupWhat it is: Explicit code that tells search engines and AI what your content means. Why it matters: It future-proofs content, turning pages into structured assets that modern algorithms and AI search tools can correctly understand and feature.[13:00] Internal Secret #2: Prioritize Logical Site StructureWhat it is: A clear hierarchy using heading tags (H1, H2, H3) in correct order. Why it matters: It guides search engine crawlers and creates an intuitive, trustworthy experience for human users. A case study showed 27% of a 17M-page portfolio indexed in two weeks.[29:30] Key Conclusion: The "Triple Threat" FormulaThe winning formula is Schema + Structure + Speed. As Artificial Intelligence continues its relentless spread into so many parts of all of our lives, it seems like all we can do is sit back with a mix of hope and dread and wonder where this is all going. We know we can't trust anything on social media anymore - be it photos, audio or video - though we see that many of our friends are susceptible to just about anything. Meanwhile, we may be uncomfortable with how much the electronic devices around us know about us thanks to AI, and who hasn't felt alienated when they've been trapped in an AI-automated loop when all they want to hear is a real human voice? And speaking of human voices, you may be hearing fewer of them when you listen to new songs. AI has crept into the business, becoming a common tool to write, produce and distribute music. So the next song you hear may be created and "performed" entirely by AI programming, without any real singers or musicians. Should you be alarmed? Does AI music have a soul? Can you enjoy it even if everything about it is fake? What is this going to do to the music industry? Those are the questions pondered this week by your hosts of the podcast "How We Heard It." On one hand, AI will make it easier for more people to "create" music, from musicians and singers with limited skills and resources who need help filling in songs with instrumentation, lyrics and voices to those with no music skills at all who can whip up a new song with just an idea. Like any shift in business, there will be winners and losers, and most of us will win a little and lose a little. Yet unlike past innovations - from AutoTuned vocals to electronic programs that sound like "real" instruments - there's much more at stake with AI, which reaches far beyond music. Should we be excited, afraid or both?

"Trump Accounts" are being discussed as a new way to help children and young adults invest for the future—but are they a meaningful planning tool or simply clever branding? In this episode, we break down how Trump Accounts are structured, how they differ from traditional retirement and custodial accounts, and why return assumptions deserve careful scrutiny. We also discuss funding mechanics, diversification considerations, and what actually happens when a child reaches age 18. Importantly, we address what these accounts are not designed to do—including education planning, where 529 plans may remain more effective. Along the way, we share lessons on dollar-cost averaging, long-term ownership, and why financial literacy matters more than the wrapper itself. Finally, we zoom out to the bigger picture: using the new year as an opportunity to refresh your financial plan, revisit retirement contributions, understand SECURE Act changes, and begin thoughtful estate and legacy conversations. # Supreme Court's Trump Trials: A Week of Historic Decisions AheadAs we kick off 2026, the Supreme Court is preparing for what could be one of the most consequential months in recent judicial history. Next week, the justices will begin hearing arguments in cases that could fundamentally reshape American law, presidential power, and individual rights. Let me walk you through what's coming and why it matters. The most immediate case hits the core of executive authority. On January 21st, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Trump v. Cook, a case centered on whether President Donald Trump can fire Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Cook began her fourteen-year term on the board in 2023. Trump attempted to remove her in August, alleging mortgage fraud that occurred before her appointment. Here's the legal tension: the Federal Reserve Act explicitly states that the president can only remove board members for cause. Trump's lawyers argue he should be able to dismiss her freely, while Cook's team contends the removal protections exist for a reason, to insulate the Fed from political pressure. What makes this case historic is its broader implications. According to analysis from Georgetown professor Stephen Vladeck, the Trump administration has filed nineteen shadow docket applications in its first twenty weeks, matching what the entire Biden administration filed over four years. If the Court rules in Trump's favor on the Cook case, it would overturn nearly a century-old precedent protecting independent agency commissioners from arbitrary dismissal. That could reshape how federal agencies operate and their independence from political winds. But the Fed case isn't the only executive power question before the justices. The Supreme Court's January calendar also includes Trump v. Barbara, which will examine whether Trump's executive order eliminating birthright citizenship can stand. This order aims to deny citizenship to children born in the United States to undocumented immigrants. Such a ruling would overturn protections established by the 14th Amendment that the Court has maintained for over a century. Multiple courts have already temporarily blocked the order's enforcement, signaling serious constitutional concerns. There's also the tariffs case. Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump will determine whether Trump can invoke a national emergency to impose extensive tariffs on foreign goods without congressional approval. Trump has called this the most significant case ever. The stakes are enormous. If the Court rules against him, the government might need to reimburse over one hundred billion dollars in tariffs already collected, and Trump's ability to use emergency declarations for economic policy would be severely constrained.Beyond Trump's cases, listeners should know that on January 13th, the Court will hear arguments in cases challenging state bans on transgender students participating in sports that align with their gender identity. These cases raise questions about the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause and Title IX protections against sex-based discrimination in education. As these arguments unfold over the coming weeks, decisions are expected before the end of June. The Court's rulings could reshape the balance between presidential power and institutional independence, alter immigration law, transform federal economic policy, and redefine civil rights protections. These aren't abstract legal questions, listeners. They'll affect real people's lives and how American government functions.Thank you for tuning in. Come back next week for more analysis as these historic arguments begin. This has been a Quiet Please production. Five Patterns From 152 Episodes That Reshaped How I Think About Security, Technology, and Work Heading into 2026 | A Musing On the Future of Cybersecurity with Sean Martin and TAPE9 | Read by TAPE9

Across 152 conversations this year, a set of recurring patterns kept surfacing, regardless of whether the discussion focused on application security, software supply chain risk, AI systems, or creative work. The industries varied. The roles varied. The challenges did not.One theme rises above the rest: visibility remains the foundation of everything else, yet organizations continue to accept blind spots as normal. Asset inventories are incomplete. Build systems are poorly understood. Dependencies change faster than teams can track them. The issue is not a lack of tools. It is a willingness to tolerate uncertainty because discovery feels hard or disruptive.Another pattern is equally consistent. Integration matters more than novelty. New features, including AI-driven ones, sound compelling until they fail to connect with what teams already rely on. Security programs fracture when tools operate in isolation. Coverage looks strong on paper while gaps quietly expand in practice. When tools fail to integrate into existing environments, they create complexity instead of reducing risk.Security also continues to struggle with how it shows up in daily work. Programs succeed when security is embedded into workflows, automated where possible, and invisible until it matters. They fail when security acts as a gate that arrives after decisions are already made. Teams either adopt security naturally or route around it entirely. There is no neutral middle ground.Context repeatedly separates effective leadership from noise. Risk only becomes meaningful when it is framed in terms of business operations, delivery speed, and real tradeoffs. Leaders who understand how the business actually functions communicate risk clearly and make better decisions under pressure. Finally, creativity remains undervalued in security conversations. Automation should remove repetitive tasks so people can focus on judgment, problem solving, and design. The same mindset that produces elegant guitars, photographs, or products applies directly to building resilient security programs. These five patterns are not independent ideas. Together, they describe a shift toward security that is visible, integrated, contextual, workflow-driven, and human-centered.Read the full article: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/five-patterns-from-152-podcast-episodes-2025-changed-i-martin-cissp-st1ge________This story represents the results of an interactive collaboration between Human Cognition and Artificial Intelligence.Enjoy, think, share with others, and subscribe to "The Future of Cybersecurity" newsletter on LinkedIn: https://itspm.ag/future-of-cybersecuritySincerely, Sean Martin and TAPE9________Sean Martin is a life-long musician and the host of the Music Evolves Podcast; a career technologist, cybersecurity professional, and host of the Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast; and is also the co-host of the On Location Event Coverage Podcast. SEO Expert vs. SEO Agency: Making the Right Choice for Your Business (Decision Makers Edition) with Favour Obasi-ike with Favour Obasi-Ike | Sign up for exclusive SEO insights.Episode SummaryBusiness decision-makers constantly face the challenge of choosing between a solo SEO expert and a full-service SEO agency to drive their online growth. In this episode, host Favour Obasi-ike is joined by guests Marc McIntosh, (G.A.) Pimpleton, and Jolanta Kissoon Young to demystify this critical choice. The discussion unpacks the distinct roles of each provider, revealing that an expert acts like a specialist "doctor" for targeted advice, while an agency serves as a holistic "coach" for comprehensive execution. The conversation also ventures into the dark side of the industry, exposing common pitfalls and scams with firsthand accounts of fraudulent practices. Finally, the group provides a concrete, actionable framework for vetting a trustworthy partner, emphasizing the non-negotiable need for proven results and the power of earned trust to ensure your SEO investment translates into real business growth.Read New SEO Article: Is It Worth Hiring an SEO Expert in 2026? The most critical first step is to align your business stage with the right provider. An SEO expert is ideal for startups or businesses needing strategic advice, specialized audits, or tactical guidance ("seeing where the needle is"). A full-service agency is better suited for mid-to-large companies that require an aggressive, multi-disciplinary growth strategy and hands-on implementation ("moving the needle").Second, "receipts" are non-negotiable. Do not hire a provider based on promises alone. Demand tangible proof of their competence and impact. Ask for detailed case studies, analytics, and data—what G.A. calls "receipts"—that show where past clients in your industry started and where they finished. This data should clearly demonstrate an increase in revenue, reach, and other key business metrics.Third, trust is earned through value. The most reliable and effective SEO partners are often those who don't rely on aggressive advertising. As Marc argues, trust is built over time. Seek out experts and agencies who freely educate their audience through podcasts, blogs, or online communities. This demonstrates genuine expertise, builds a foundation of trust, and proves they are more focused on delivering value than just making a sale.Detailed Episode Breakdown & Timestamps1. Introduction: The Core DilemmaStarting at 00:00, host Favour Obasi-ike opens the discussion by framing the critical decision business owners face: whether to engage a freelance SEO expert or a larger SEO agency. He emphasizes the strategic importance of this choice, noting that it can define a company's digital foundation and shape its future growth trajectory. At 01:15, Favour Obasi-ike provides an initial breakdown of the fundamental differences, describing an expert as a specialist focused on a specific problem, while an agency covers a comprehensive range of needs. He also introduces the idea that, under specific circumstances, the two can work together effectively. At 03:30, two primary scenarios for collaboration are detailed: an expert can augment an agency's team with specialized skills for a particular project, or an expert can be brought in to provide a "third eye" perspective for an established in-house team, offering an outside view to improve internal processes. With the core dilemma established, the discussion moves to the crucial task of matching your specific business needs to the right provider model.2. Differentiating Roles: The Doctor vs. The CoachBeginning at 05:00, the conversation highlights that to make a smart investment, you must first diagnose your own needs. This section provides a clear framework—the "Doctor vs. the Coach"—to help you distinguish between the need for tactical advice versus comprehensive execution and align your specific requirements with the right type of service provider. At 06:45, the conversation compares the two roles using a clear analogy: the expert is like a doctor who diagnoses and prescribes, while the agency is like a coach who manages the team and executes the game plan. The SEO Expert, or "Doctor," acts as a consultant or specialist who provides tactics and strategies, helping you "see where the needle is." They typically cost between $500 to $3,000+ per month on average. The SEO Agency, or "Coach," provides a full team for execution and acts as the "backbone of your brand online," actively "moving the needle" for you with a robust, multidisciplinary approach. At 09:10, Favour Obasi-ike explains the concept of an SEO agency acting as the technical "backbone" for a brand online. An agency is responsible for a wide array of needs, from generating traffic and performing technical fixes to assisting with branding, backlinks, and local SEO.At 11:25, clear advice is given on when to hire each: an expert is ideal for those just starting out who need to learn the ropes and get strategic direction. In contrast, an agency is necessary for mid-to-large businesses or well-funded startups that require an aggressive, multifaceted growth strategy. While understanding the ideal roles is essential, the real risk lies in the industry's dark side. The speakers now pivot to the critical red flags that can save a business from costly mistakes.3. Industry Pitfalls: Scams, Red Flags, and Cautionary TalesAt 15:30, the conversation shifts to address the "bad rep" of the SEO industry, highlighting why business owners must be exceptionally vigilant. This segment underscores the importance of recognizing red flags to avoid wasting money, losing time, and protecting critical company assets like websites and data.At 17:00, G.A. shares his negative experiences with agencies, explaining his preference for direct, one-on-one relationships. He recounts a client's horror story where a previous agency held their website and data hostage, making it nearly impossible to transition to a new provider and regain control of their own intellectual property. At 20:15, Marc McIntosh offers a powerful anecdote about a new client who had been paying a significant sum for "SEO services" but did not even have Google Analytics or Google Search Console connected to their site—a fundamental flaw. He warns against providers selling overpriced, templated services and using fake bot traffic to manipulate reports and create the illusion of progress. At 24:50, G.A. describes a common scam in his industry where companies buy recycled, low-quality leads from "SEO experts" who use impressive-sounding buzzwords like "quantum computing" to sell ineffective, boilerplate services that fail to deliver genuine clients.Recognizing the scams is half the battle; the other half is proactively identifying a trustworthy partner. The conversation now provides a practical vetting framework to do just that.4. Vetting a Partner: How to Find a Trustworthy ProviderStarting at 28:00, and armed with an understanding of the risks, this section delivers a practical toolkit for due diligence. Follow these systematic steps to move beyond a provider's sales pitch and verify their true capabilities, establishing a successful and transparent partnership from the start. At 29:30, the speakers collectively outline actionable steps for vetting any potential SEO provider.First, ask probing questions. Favour Obasi-ike suggests asking specific operational questions to gauge professionalism and process, such as: "What is your tech stack?", "How do you handle sensitive data and passwords?", and "How do you work as a team?".Second, demand "receipts" (proof of work). Synthesizing advice from the panel, this point stresses the need to see hard evidence. Demand what GA calls "receipts"—case studies, analytics, and performance data showing where clients started and finished. Additionally, as H advises, ensure these case studies explain the strategy behind the results, demonstrating their understanding of your industry.Third, check their own fundamentals. Marc provides a simple but effective tip: audit the provider's own website for basic SEO health. If they have fundamental errors like multiple H1 tags (Mark's example) or an outdated copyright date (Jolanta's example), it's a major red flag.Fourth, verify their authority. Look for tangible proof that they are a genuine expert in their field. A credible provider often has a presence on platforms like LinkedIn, hosts a podcast, writes a blog, or runs a community where they actively share knowledge and engage with their industry.Fifth, prioritize referrals and earned trust. Marc makes a compelling argument that the best partners are found through trusted referrals, not advertisements. He advises following potential experts over time. Those who consistently teach and give value freely are building genuine trust, making them a much safer and more reliable choice.A thorough vetting process is the best defense against industry scams and serves as the foundation for a fruitful, long-term relationship.5. Final Thoughts & Resources MentionedAt 45:00, the final segment wraps up the discussion by covering specific tools and platforms that can aid in SEO efforts. This reinforces the core idea that successful SEO is not a one-time fix but an ongoing, dynamic process of learning, implementation, and adaptation. At 46:15, the discussion touches on leveraging specific platforms for greater reach. In response to Jolanta's question, Favour Obasi-ike explains that Pinterest is a powerful visual search engine, not just a social media platform. Because the lifespan of a "pin" is 3.5 months to 5 months (compared to 19-72 hours for an Instagram post), content published there continues to drive traffic and build authority for a brand long after it's posted. At 52:30, the tools and platforms mentioned throughout the episode include: ClickUp, Zoom, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, ChatGPT, LinkedIn, Clubhouse, and Pinterest. At 55:00, Favour Obasi-ike closes the episode with a final call to action, encouraging listeners to connect with him directly via the link in his bio to turn the insights from the conversation into concrete action for their businesses.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

As 2025 comes to a close, consumer AI is entering a new phase. A small number of products now dominate everyday use, multimodal models have unlocked entirely new creative workflows, and the big labs have pushed aggressively into consumer experiences. At the same time, it is becoming clearer which ideas actually changed user behavior and which ones did not.In this episode, a16z consumer investors Anish Acharya, Olivia Moore, Justine Moore, and Bryan Kim look back at the biggest product and model shifts of 2025 and then look ahead to what 2026 may bring. They discuss why consumer AI appears to be trending toward winner-take-most, how subtle product design choices can matter more than raw model quality, and why templates, multimodality, and distribution are shaping the next wave of consumer products.Where do startups still have room to win? How will the role of the big labs continue to change? And what will it actually take for consumer AI apps to break out at scale in 2026? Resources:Follow Anish: https://x.com/illscienceFollow Olivia: https://x.com/omooretweetsFollow Justine: https://x.com/venturetwinsFollow Bryan: https://x.com/kirbyman01 Stay Updated: If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to like, subscribe, and share with your friends!Find a16z on X: https://x.com/a16zFind a16z on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/a16zListen to the a16z Podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5bC65RDvs3oxnLyqqvkUYXListen to the a16z Podcast on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a16z-podcast/id842818711Follow our host: https://x.com/eriktorenbergPlease note that the content here is for informational purposes only; should NOT be taken as legal, business, tax, or investment advice or be used to evaluate any investment or security; and is not directed at any investors or potential investors in any a16z fund. a16z and its affiliates may maintain investments in the companies discussed.
