Because there is no such thing as too much Eleanor Steber, today's episode once again features the prodigiously gifted singer, in my opinion the greatest soprano the United States has ever produced, singing a dizzying range of material, most of it recorded live between the years 1958 and 1979. These recordings were nearly all private releases on Steber's own record labels.. First, ST/AND Records, which she formed with her second husband Gordon Andrews, and which between 1960 and 1962 produced approximately fifteen LPs, all but one of them featuring Steber. Second, recordings released under the aegis of the Eleanor Steber Music Foundation, which she formed in 1973 and which released a few choice live recordings of Steber's late career recitals. The material ranges from selections from the Christian Science Hymnal, piously presented; sentimental ballads, tackily arranged; Bach and Mozart arias; art songs by Rorem, Barber, Britten, Debussy, Berg, and Beethoven; and opera arias from I Puritani, Der Freischütz, Giulio Cesare, and Tosca, the last performed at her campy Live at the Continental Baths concert in October 1973. Though as Steber grew older, her voice occasionally sounded blowsy, on the vast majority of these recordings she sounds stunningly good. And no matter what repertoire she was singing, her impeccable technique and pristine musicianship remained intact throughout. Much of source material from which these performances stem is exceedingly rare, and for the most part difficult and costly to obtain. So in my role as supreme Steber groupie, I am honored and thrilled to share these recordings, all of them from my own personal collection. I'm still under the weather, but I can't let that keep me from posting my usual Tuesday episode! Here is another recycled bonus episode, this one posted two years ago in honor of my birthday, which features some of my favorite singers. At that time I posted a brand new episode entitled “Dan's Picks,” but many of the best selections ended up on the cutting room floor. That hurt my heart so much that I had no choice but to do a companion episode which features a number of things that were lacking from the main episode: first of all, more tenor goodness (Aksel Schiøtz, Franco Corelli, Sándor Kónya, Jussi Björling, Richard Crooks, Ian Partridge); second of all, more burly baritones (Jorma Hynninen, Ettore Bastianini, Riccardo Stracciari, and the lesser-known megawatt talent Hugo Hasslo). Also heard are a number of sopranos that have not received enough Countermelody airtime (Edith Mason, Maria Vitale, Andrée Esposito, Lucia Popp), as well as a number of favorites that we (I?) simply can't get enough of: Muzio, Lehmann, Olivero, Farrell, Steber. I even set aside modesty to include a brief clip of me from a demo I recorded some time ago, back when I could still sing! Every selection in this episode is very dear to my heart; I hope you will enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
Learn about Auburn's latest College of Engineering grad marshal, Ben Steber. This engineer may not have borders. But he's definitely about to have a banner.
I sat in my apartment in Berlin on the Fourth of July wondering how, after the events of this past Monday, I can possibly pay tribute to our nation as it “celebrated” its birthday. Then it hit me: since I would never in a million years produce an episode of patriotic musical material, why not pay tribute to a great American singer instead? I had already been planning an upcoming bonus episode on ELEANOR STEBER, the singer I consider to be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) soprano that our country has ever produced! Nearly two years ago, with the help of my dear friend Michelle Oesterle, who was Eleanor's step-daughter, I produced an episode dedicated to her; today's episode will not delve so much into the (still-controversial) person that Eleanor was, but rather offer a cross-section, over the course of more than 40 years, of the wide variety of styles and repertoire in which Steber excelled. Who else could traverse a range of repertoire from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Mozart, Rameau to Wagner, Berlioz to Romberg with such ease and joyful authority? Not only do I explore her longevity, I explore her unparalleled prowess as a vocal technician; as well as her well-documented bad treatment by the Metropolitan Opera and its then-general manager, Rudolf Bing. I also look at the recordings that Steber and her then-husband, Michelle's father, produced on their own ST/AND label in the early sixties, and then hear Steber sing some quintessentially American music from classic musicals. Along the way, I consider some serious topics, including betrayal, alcoholism, and the power of embedded memory. Finally, I consider the possibility that Eleanor Steber's celebrated portrayal of Minnie in La fanciulla del West might just offer a possible solution for the divisiveness and political turmoil in which our country currently finds itself. Featured guest singers on the episode include Nelson Eddy, Brian Sullivan, Rosalind Elias, and Jussi Björling; musical collaborators include Dimitri Mitropoulos, Igor Kipnis, Allen Rogers, Fritz Stiedry, and her frequent concert and radio collaborators Howard Barlow and Edwin Biltcliffe. Today's subject is Eleanor Steber, certainly one of the greatest and most versatile of American sopranos. She is introduced by one of the most recent (and most colorful) of all of my listeners, the San Francisco-based drag artiste (and vocalist extraordinaire) Dusty Pörn. In this very special episode, which I first posted in the summer of 2022 in honor of Steber's 108th birthday, musical selections from across the duration of Steber's long career, are supplemented by the generous and loving commentary of my friend, singer and conductor Michelle Oesterle, who was Eleanor's stepdaughter. As such Michelle spent time (especially in the summer months) with her father and Eleanor at Melody Hill, Eleanor's estate on Long Island. She provides us with an unparalleled intimate portrait of Eleanor as woman and as singer and describes the profound influence that Eleanor had in her life, as well as the characteristics that combined to make her the profoundly appealing and moving interpreter that she was. She also addresses the white elephant in the room, that is, Eleanor's alcoholism, and makes a plea for tolerance and understanding vis-à-vis this serious disease. Many thanks to both Dusty and Michelle for their loving and perceptive tributes to this greatest of singers and artists. Communications for Research commoditized the brand, while Qlarity Access brings to light what makes the brand unique. If you're thinking about a rebrand, or just want to see what it takes, grab a cigar, grab a cocktail, and strap in for another fun and educational episode of Sales and Cigars. O tem v Studiu ob 17.00 z Natašo Lang. Gostje: Ingrid Kovač Brus, odgovorna urednica 3. programa Radia Slovenija – programa ARS; Vinko Möderndorfer, pisatelj, pesnik, esejist, radijski, filmski in televizijski režiser; Milko Lazar skladatelj in multiinstrumentalist; Peter Frank, urednik novih medijev in socialnih omrežij na Arsu; Aleksander Čobec, novinar in urednik oddaje Jezikovni pogovori. Copper Shores Bridges is underway, and the first Investigators have graduated from the Getting Ahead program. Cheyenne, a graduate of the first Getting Ahead program, joined the Copper Shores Podcast to look back and talk about her experiences. Cheyenne originally saw the program as an opportunity to get grocery and gas money to help her family. After spending some time with Bridges Program Director Mike Steber, and the other investigators, she started to see that this was something she wanted to stick with. “It seemed like a painted picture, but it widened once you actually stepped into the room,” said Cheyenne. Getting Ahead may sound too good to be true, but it's made possible by the joy and dedication that Steber has for each investigator. His belief in their ability to succeed helps them open up and connect with each other. “[Mike] was definitely the cheerleader along the way,” said Cheyenne. She noted how important his check-ins were and still are, making sure each investigator can still work towards their goals. “A lot of the class was creating goals to step out of the poverty line,” explained Cheyenne. “Finding the reasons for difficulty, like childcare being one, or wages being another. Just covering all demographics in poverty.” Through the self-reflection and goal-setting that investigators do, they also pick up a variety of organizational skills that will help keep them moving forward toward their goals. “Being in survival mode most of the time is what keeps everyone in their spot rather than pushing forward,” said Cheyenne. “Pushing forward is the hardest and the most important part.” Cheyenne encourages everyone eligible to take the class. Copper Shores believes that change starts with individuals. If someone is interested in enrolling in Getting Ahead or learning more about the program, contact Mike Steber at msteber@coppershores.org. Details can also be found at coppershores.org/bridges.

Presented by Yoshimura The crossover between motocross and mountain biking has existed for decades, and Intense Cycles is one of the first brands to get involved with motocross, dating back to the Jeff Emig era. Jeff Steber is a mad scientist of sorts, and the brand's founder has conceptualized frame geometries, suspension systems, and more, throughout its 30-year history. Steber was gracious enough to take some time away from his fab shop to join us for a sit down to talk the moto/MTB crossover, new trends in bicycling, business models, and more! Enjoy.

Conductor Andre Kostelanetz specialized in “light classical” music which was accessible to the everyday listener. CBS (“The Tiffany Network”) gave the maestro his own weekly show to spread this less than high-brow form of cultural enlightenment. This episode was aired on August 13, 1944 with conductor Percy Faith and soprano Eleanor Steber. The host is David Ross.
Today, Colson Steber joins Sima on the podcast. He is the Co-CEO of Communications for Research and Co-CEO of Ag Access. In this episode, Colson dives into the origin of Communications for Research and his journey to becoming Co-CEO. He also discusses his passion for personal evolution and relentless learning and explains how he integrates his learning into his personal life and work. Communications for Research Communications for Research is a research logistics business. They provide services for recruiting and data collection. They are unique in that they have a proven process for getting to the research outcomes and doing whatever needs to get done. The history of CFR Colson's Father started CFR 26 years ago. Colson, along with his business partner and co-CEO, bought the company six and a half years ago. The company could no longer continue operating as it had before. So they had to figure out how to make it work as a business. The company is now almost triple the size it was when they bought it, and they operate as Ag Access in addition to CFR. A struggle In the first three years of his entrepreneurial journey, Colson experienced continual cash flow problems. He spent almost all of 2019 within seven days of insolvency. The least risky thing Through his entrepreneurial journey, Colson learned that the least risky thing was to bet on himself and find the most real-world way of developing himself personally. Transformation Colson wanted to be a leader and understood he was not the leader he needed to be. However, he did not realize the depth and breadth of transformations he would have to go through to get to where he is today. Ag Access They had always done a significant amount of work in the agricultural sector, but none of it stood out. Then, Colson realized that they knew a lot about that sector and it was a niche they could stand out in because it was so unique. So, after the great pause in the spring of 2020, they launched Ag Access. It was an excellent decision because it is the work they do best and has the highest margin. It is also unique. So people can find them easily. Relentless intentional action Relentless intentional action has become part of the fabric of who Colson is. That means he is always working toward aligning his life and business through self-expression and how he sees his purpose in the world. His word for this year is relentless. Reading Colson's desire to be his own person, design his life, and act intentionally, led him to start reading something every day. He has continued to do so for the last four years. The Art and Science of Joy Colson volunteers for and supports The Art and Science of Joy. His goal is to 10x the joy and abundance in every facet of his life. Living his best life Colson has structured his life so that by the time he sits at his desk at 8 am, he has already spent more than three hours working on his personal development. An entrepreneurial operating system In 2019, Colson took a deep dive into listening better and asking better questions. Since then, they started implementing an entrepreneurial operating system into the business, ingraining the practices, and teaching people how to be the right boss. Trust Even though Colson has built enough trust in his team to be completely open and transparent about their projects, workflow, and mistakes, he feels they are on a journey, so they still have to keep improving on where they are now. West Virginians are proud of the many great stars it sent into the music world, especially those in the Grand Ole Opry, but they may not be aware of the superstar diva from Wheeling who conquered the world of grand opera. After high school, Eleanor Steber went to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston to study classical piano, but a professor suggested she study voice instead. She won a popular competition that landed her at New York's vaunted Metropolitan Opera and she became one of its brightest stars, with a legacy that still reigns supreme.
Michael Steber was a basketball coach and middle school principle for many years. Prior to his role as principle he was a PE teacher. Currently he is working with Bridges Copper Country, a Portage Health Foundation initiative that will help the local community grow and prosper through personal growth.
Do you want to bring a box of chocolate chip cookies to the party, or do you want to bring a box of gluten-free, Himalayan sea salt, fair-trade dark chocolate cookies to the party? Are we really talking about cookies? Nope. This is our segue into the differences between generalists and specialists. Generalists are generally suited for everyone whereas specialists serve a niche market. CEO and Little Bird Momma, Priscilla McKinney, and Co-CEO of Ag Access and Co-CEO of Communications for Research (CFR) Colson Steber dig into the differences between specialists and generalists in the world of market research. Colson Steber also volunteers as the President of the Insights Association Great Lakes Chapter, which is the combination of five regional chapters into one. In this episode, we also discuss the value of serving a niche. Ag Access is laser-focused on the agricultural sector and has done large-scale work at a gigantic scope to stand out. His company has put together a phenomenal resource called the Ag Researcher's Almanac that helps to get everyone on the same page with the terminology around Agriculture-based market research. It's yours for FREE. So what is the difference between generalists and specialists? As Colson Steber says, “nothing and everything.” Curious? Let's dive into the details on the show. Welcome back to Intellicast! On today's episode, we are joined by Colson Steber of Communications for Research and Ag Access for what we are calling the closing out of the trilogy with him. If you have listened to our past interviews with Colson, you know we talked to him at the start of COVID, then again in 2021, and now today's conversation really brings us full circle on the journey he and his business have been on for the last few years. We start out by getting an update from Colson on how business has been going, specifically the Ag Access brand he launched in late 2020. He gives us the exciting news of the growth they are experiencing with the new brand and how it has helped him grow his business. This leads to a discussion around trends in market research where Brian Lamar and Colson talk about the research firms becoming more specialized rather than generalists. In the second half of the interview, we switch gears a bit. Brian talks with Colson about his LinkedIn and his approach to personal development. It is an enlightening conversation! Interview vom 27.10.22 in unserer Reihe "Quo Vadis Europa?".
Your Home Front Reporter - May 11, 1943. Host Fletcher Wiley with tenor Frank Parker and soprano Eleanor Steber. Light opera, War News, and getting the most out of your Ration Points were the features of Your Home Front Reporter. The Owens-Illinois Glass Company came up with a way to inform housewives about ways they could help to win the War with Your Home Front Reporter. Created by the D'Arcy Advertising Agency with the cooperation of the Office of War Information, the show featured War news and music from tenor Frank Parker, Metropolitan Opera Soprano Eleanor Steber, and David Broekman and His Orchestra. Over the course of the program, production moved from New York to Hollywood and back to New York again. (More from OTRcat.com)... The program was hosted by Southern California radio personality Fletcher Wiley. Often compared to Arthur Godfrey or Paul Harvey, Wiley specialized in speaking directly to women, so was a natural for the job. After broadcasts began in May 1943, production moved to Hollywood in July. This was a homecoming for Wiley, and tenor Parker made the move as well. Ms. Steber and Broekman's outfit were replaced by Dianna Gayle, Phil Hanna, and Wilbur Hatch and his Orchestra. Reporter Wiley offered tips on scientific nutrition, general home economics, and creative menu tips to get the most out of a household's ration points. In the fall, production returned to New York without Fletcher Wiley.

To so velikani. V imenu in predstavah. Hvala!Spletna stran: podcastveto.comZa več NBA takeawayev: TwitterFacebook, Instagram
July 17 is the 108th birthday of Eleanor Steber, surely one of the all-time greatest singers that the United States has ever produced (as well as one of the most versatile and technically-accomplished!) In long overdue Countermelody tribute to this exceptional artist, I present the first of two very special episodes honoring Eleanor. After the “usual” career overview featuring mostly live highlights from her operatic appearances all over the world, I turn the stage (or in this case the mic), over to my dear friend Michelle Oesterle, founder and conductor of the Manhattan Girls Chorus, who was also Eleanor Steber's stepdaughter. As such she spent time (especially in the summer months) with her father and Eleanor at Melody Hill, Eleanor's estate on Long Island. The Steber tribute will continue with a further episode sometime in the next month. For now, let us raise our glasses (of sparkling mineral water), in tribute to this phenomenal artist, the like of which we will never see again. Musical selections range from Victor Herbert to Alban Berg and everything in between. Thank you, Michelle, and evviva Eleanor! Countermelody is a podcast devoted to the glory and the power of the human voice raised in song. Singer and vocal aficionado Daniel Gundlach explores great singers of the past and present focusing in particular on those who are less well-remembered today than they should be. Daniel's lifetime in music as a professional countertenor, pianist, vocal coach, voice teacher, and journalist yields an exciting array of anecdotes, impressions, and “inside stories.” At Countermelody's core is the celebration of great singers of all stripes, their instruments, and the connection they make to the words they sing. By clicking on the following link (https://linktr.ee/CountermelodyPodcast) you can find the dedicated Countermelody website which contains additional content including artist photos and episode setlists. The link will also take you to Countermelody's Patreon page, where you can pledge your monthly support at whatever level you can afford. Bonus episodes available exclusively to Patreon supporters are currently available and further bonus content including interviews and livestreams is planned for the upcoming season.

Happy Holidays! Brian and Brian are taking some time off, but never fear! We're back with another year of “Best of” episodes for you. You know the drill: in each episode, Brian and Brian will revisit some of our favorite interviews from the past year. So, let's get started! In Part 1 of our Best of Intellicast Season 4 episodes, we'll be revisiting interviews with Colson Steber of Communications for Research and Ag Access, Dan Fletcher of Research Defender, and Chuck Miller of DM2. [3:22-23:31] Colson's interview kicks off with a trip down memory lane to the last time he was on the podcast in April of 2020, the height of the pandemic. This sets the tone for the rest of his interview where he discusses the hurdles he faced leading his company through COVID, the launch of Ag Access, completely moving their call center to remote work and turnover challenges that ultimately lead to the lowest turnover rate the organization has ever seen! [23:32-55:00] In Dan and Chuck's interview, they discuss data quality trends in the industry covering everything from supply shifts to fraudulent behavior. They also share their best practices for data quality in survey design, noteworthy types of fraud, the transition away from cookies and third-party data, an increase in industry collaboration against fraud, and more!

Pozdravljeni v novi seozni podkasta Tandem. V prvi epizodi sem govorila s Tanjo Skaza.
Take in podobne misli so me spet obšle med sestopom z Mojstrovke. V globini so ostali le cepina in smučka. Odgovor sem dobila nekoliko pozneje, v knjigi Koliba, v zanimivem dialogu glavne osebe Macka in Boga.
Welcome back to Intellicast! On today’s episode, Brian Lamar and Producer Brian are joined by Colson Steber, the Co-CEO of Communications for Research and Ag Access. Colson first joined us last April, right at the high of the shutdown due to the pandemic. In that episode, he talked about the impact it was having on his business, and how he and his team were working to stay afloat. Today, Colson gives us an update on what has occurred since then. Colson starts off revisiting the impact he was facing during that time, including his work in progress dropping 70%. He then gets into a bit more detail around the additional hurdles he was facing during this time. Before you think this episode gets too down in the dumps, it is a good story with a good ending. Colson then gets into the pivots he and his organization have made over the last 8 months that have allowed them to build their own “v-shaped comeback”. He talks about how he was able to use PPP loans to keep his entire team, and then focus resources to push organizational projects that had been on the shelf, but we key to success in the future. Colson also talked about launching their new brand focused on the agriculture industry, Ag Access. He also discusses how they were able to get it off the ground and launched in a matter of a couple of months rather than a couple of years. Colson then gives some details on how the new brand and the more targeted focus they have with it has helped them recover and now flourishing. Colson and Brian then switch gears and talk about the changes internally Colson and his team made. This included moving his call center operations from in-person to totally virtual in two weeks. While that is impressive, Colson talks about having to add people starting in June, the turnover challenges he experienced, and changes he made, and how it has led to the lowest turnover rate the organization has ever had. Colson then talks about the results they achieved for 2020, including matching their 2019 revenues, after being down in Q2 significantly. In the last few minutes of the interview, Colson talks about some of the personal goals he has set for himself in 2021. We hope you enjoy this great story! As Will Rogers famously said, “The farmer has to be an optimist, or he wouldn’t still be a farmer.” In this episode, host and Momma Bird Priscilla McKinney talks with Colson Steber, Co-CEO at both Communications for Research, Inc (CFR) and Ag Access. They talk about agricultural research and how Ag Access has created an insights community specifically centered around a highly specialized sector that includes crop growers, livestock producers, feed mills, veterinarians, and more. “I joke that I spent the first eight years of my time at CFR convincing people that we could do more than ag. And now we’re leaning back into our niche, we can definitely be the experts on how to accelerate access to market,” Steber says, adding, “Everything from ingredient companies that sell back into large chemical companies, as well as user experience designers doing ag and precision ag tech all need research now, and that has widened the base of people that can draw on our services.” Additionally, Priscilla and Colson discuss remote work, content creation, priority development and continual self-improvement.

You're listening to the Happy Market Research Podcast. The next set of episodes are conversations I had at this year's Corporate Researchers Conference or CRC. This is put on by the Insights Association in Orlando, Florida. I had quite a few interesting conversations highlighting specific companies that exhibited this year as well as a couple of speakers, Wells Fargo, IBM, etc. I hope you have a really good rest of your day and enjoy these short episodes. [00:31] Hey, everybody. This is Jamin. You are listening to Happy Market Research Podcast. We are live at the Insights Association’s CRC event. What city are we in? I keep forgetting. [00:42] Orlando. [00:43] My guest today is Colson Steber; Communications for Research is the name of the company. Colson, thanks for being on the show. [00:51] Thanks. [00:52] You got to tell me something. This is the morning of Day Two. Did you go to any content yesterday? [01:00] I went to Steve August coaching. [01:02] Tell me what you thought. [01:04] I loved the tools he introduced to us in the session but did not engage a lot with the conversation during the session. Struck up a conversation with him afterwards and ended up taking up the entire afternoon getting free coaching for about two and a half hours. [01:20] I hope you bought him a drink or something. [01:21] Unfortunately, not. We got interrupted a lot since we sat in the lobby and lots of people walk past us that were arriving for the conference. [01:27] Does the ROI for him, does that pay off down the road, you think? Like good feelings? [01:33] For him? [01:35] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean he's now in a coaching business. So potentially, right. I mean, I now know his story. He knows my story and by… [01:44] There could be work down the line. What was one of your big takeaways from the conversation? Because the ROI might be somebody listens to this show and then reaches out to Steve August for coaching. [01:56] We talked a lot about how to go deeper in my niche of agriculture sector research without abandoning everything else we can do and can service. [02:14] It's the classic mile wide, inch deep versus go really deep in a single thing. And you've got to do both in a lot of cases. [02:23] So, as I was mentioning to you directly before this, I'm rethinking my marketing strategy for 2020 significantly and working to move entirely away from this list of services-based website to what outcome do we create for our customers? [02:44] Dude, I mean that's a really… Okay, so, let's back up. Give our audience a little context of Communications for Research. What is it you guys do? [02:53] We add value by helping to plan research, communicate that plan in terms of the sampling plan and field work and how it's going to get executed and then providing services to do so. And I call that research logistics. The best example being working with researchers themselves, typically as third-party contractors to understand how they're going to access the audience, help them with the screening criteria and what we'll do,
Presented by Fly Racing In 1992, Jeff Steber hand-built his first mountain bike inside his SoCal garage, a full-suspension MTB that he dubbed The Spider. Intense Cycles was founded one year later and made its debut at the '93 Interbike Show in a 10'X10' booth, and the rest - as they say - is history. Today, Intense Cycles is one of the most accomplished bike brands in the gravity sectors of racing, but with a giant selection of new mountain bikes in all categories, the brand is definitely making moves. And especially in motocross. Sponsor of the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha and GEICO Honda teams, Intense continues to support the sport that we all love. We caught up with Steber at the Temecula, California, Intense Cycles headquarters to talk about the past, present, and future of the brand. Enjoy!

I had a great time speaking with Jeff the other day about his history, the changing faces of Intense over the years and this new direction they've decided to take. Here's to some great discussion with one of mountain biking's most influential, inspirational and creative men, Jeff Steber of Intense.

Danes so gorjačo in pljunke nadomestili tviti in spletni komentarji.
