Original Publish Date: 5/8/2025 Description: The conclave is over and the prediction markets were dead wrong. In this episode of History of the Papacy, we dive into the fascinating rise of Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope. Just days before his election, he barely registered in the prediction markets. So how did he win in less than five ballots? We explore how these markets work, why they usually get things right, and why the conclave is one place where money can’t predict the Holy Spirit. Prepare yourself to step behind the ropes and leave the official tour of the story of the Popes and Christianity. I am your host, Steve Gura, and I thank you for joining me on this journey. Hey everybody, it's Steve here. I recorded this episode about, uh, maybe two days ago, and a lot has changed since that recording. We do have a new Pope, Pope Leo the 14th, who was former Cardinal. Robert Prevost, who is the [00:01:00] first American Pope, or who is the first American pope. We'll get into a lot of the details about this future Pope. We'll probably do an episode on this Cardinal Prevost, where he came from. There's a lot of interest. Details with his life. We probably won't get into a tremendous amount of detail because there's just so much new information coming out about him, but related to this episode that I recorded before, and I think this, this, uh, you should definitely hang on all the way to the end because it's so interesting. This whole episode was based around the prediction markets around who would be Pope, and I said it in this episode and I've said it many times. Prediction markets are very accurate in some ways, but I think that it was very inaccurate with this current Pope and just it would be inaccurate with Popes in general because it's such a unique election and that the only data points are the [00:02:00] 140 cardinals who go in, or the X amount of Cardinals will say in future conclaves. And we just don't know what the politics are. We don't a hundred percent know what the politics are going in, and we know. Basically 0% of what political machinations went on in that enclave. It must have been fascinating because of how quickly they came up with him. It was less than five ballots to get Cardinal Privos to become Pope Leo the 14th. It's one of the shortest conclaves of all times, only two days to get white smoke. So I think that that is fascinating. So definitely keep listening and let's see a little bit of how these markets worked. I'll just say that going in Cardinal Perlin was up. To 67% and Prevost was [00:03:00] pretty low down there. I don't even think he was on my uh, radar at all. He was on the poly market in the under 5%. So this will be definitely an interesting pay papacy to watch out for with this young pope, relatively young, not super young. 69 for an elected leader or of any sort or stripe in this era. That's young. So let's, let's check out and think a little bit more about these markets today. I'm going to address some of the top contenders for the, uh, next Pope. I'm not gonna get too much into the, the detail of each of these Cardinals, because again, there's 140 of them. All of them are in play as. To be the next Pope. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take a little different tack than our friends over at Pontax or Popular History. Definitely tune [00:04:00] into both of them because they are doing continued coverage as well. Way I'm going to look at it today is I wanna look at some of the, what are these cardinals who are meeting in conclave looking for in the next Pope? And then what I'm also going to look at is. The poly market prediction. Market website. And what the poly market is, is people literally put their money where their mouth is. They put um, I guess what you might call wagers or their maybe investing in their own money on who they, the next Pope is. Honestly, they don't, most of these people, they're not gonna have any more insider information than you or I do. They're just predicting who they think the next Pope is. And what I think is valuable about poly market is this was more, this website was more accurate in the 2024 [00:05:00] presidential election than any of the polling and generally. Poly market is very accurate, especially as it gets closer and closer to the actual events, the more accurate it becomes. Again, there's some problems with the, the nature of. The conclave process because once they're in conclave, these 140 cardinals, a lot of politics breaks down when they're face to face and they're horse trading inside of the inside of the conclave. Somebody could be up, up, up, up, up in the ballots, but they're just not hitting that number, and then the whole conclave starts to switch and they could. Do a 180 turn that person who on the first initial ballots could have been the top contender, and then they start to lose steam and it [00:06:00] starts swinging towards somebody else. That can very easily happen when these popes. When these cardinals are on lockdown, could this be a quick conclave or could it be a long, drawn, drawn out affair? We just don't know at this time. Now, before we get too far into the actual, who's the, who are our top contenders? As on poly market. Let's talk a little bit about what these cardinals are actually looking for and what are some of the, the factors at play. This, it really is the, the chest, the 3D chest, the five D chest, if you will, of a conclave. What, what some of the factors that they're looking for is regionality. Is it going to be somebody from Europe inside of Europe? Is it an, is it an Italian or a Southern European versus the [00:07:00] Germans who have a really powerful block? Is it, are they looking? Are they looking for somebody who is. Theologically driven from a certain bent. Are they a moderate theologically? Are they liberal? Are they conservative? Are they a moderate conservative or liberal politically? And that politically charged moderate tism or liberalism or conservatism can very much change whether they are depending based on what region they're from. And then another factor, of course, is the. The person's age, are they looking for a pope that is younger or older? Are they looking for somebody who could be a placeholder? Fra? Pope Francis was Pope for a long time. He made a lot of changes. Are they looking for that cardinal? Who will become Pope, who's gonna be pretty much status quo? Are they gonna be a [00:08:00] Francis site, so to speak and continue his. Reforms and his changes and his policies, or are they going to look for somebody who's Auntie Francis, who's gonna go back on a lot of the things that he's done? Then there's the, it's sort of the X factor. Most of the popes who are real contenders are, uh, are all Latin, meaning that they're Roman. Roman and they're vet. But there's also this, uh. The so-called Sury Juris or Sury juris churches that are self-governing autonomous churches within the Roman Catholic Church. They're generally, uh, on the outside they would look like an Eastern Orthodox or an Oriental Orthodox, but they're not in communion with the Orientals or the. Or the Eastern Orthodox, but externally they look like them and [00:09:00] they have a lot of the same theological bents. None of these guys are really in the running, but it, it could be interesting that they wind up going with one of these. It's kind of an a way outsider possibility, but it's not. Impossible. So let's just talk about region quickly. Regions, we have the United States, we have South America, Europe. Then Africa and the East China and, uh, China really being the, that 800 pound gorilla in the room, generally speaking, the I. African cardinals are much more theologically conservative than maybe your European cardinals. You've got South America who many of their cardinals are much more. [00:10:00] Liberal politically and liberal, more liberal on the theological bent America, a real mixed bag. You have some very conservatively political and conservatively theological cardinals mixed in with some very liberal on both political and theological. Issues Europe. Again, a a mixed bag, but generally more liberal theologically and a mixture of liberal conserv or conservative politically. Now talking about theologically, you have your conservatives, your liberals, and your moderates, and your moderates. It's not like they're 50 50. A lot of times they don't have a a, they haven't drawn stark lines either liberal or conservative, or they do [00:11:00] have a mixed bag of both opinions. I. As far as somebody liberally, theologically, they're gonna be people who are more for remarriage, which was always a big no-no in the, uh, in the Catholic church where if you got divorced and you're not. You haven't been, your marriage wasn't a nulled in an official church capacity. These people, people, these laypeople who were married and divorced, were not allowed to get communion. They were essentially ex-communicated. So there's a lot of cardinals who wanna liberalize that. You have liberals who want to be ecumenical, meaning they wanna have strong ties and maybe even form communion again with some of the Protestant groups or some of the Eastern Orthodox and I. Oriental Orthodox [00:12:00] churches, they want much tighter, much tighter connections with these other churches that are not in communion with Rome. Conservatively, uh minded Cardinals want to be much stricter on those issues and they don't wanna. Necessarily have stronger ecumenical relationships with the other churches, or if the other churches wanna have relations with the Catholic church, they're gonna have to become Catholic and fall in line with Catholic Church dogmas. There's this big issue of the ordination of women. Liberals are leaning more towards the ordination of women. Maybe not full, full-blown priests, but maybe women, deacons. The conservatives are really against that. Then you have the issue of the Latin mass and the Latin mass is a. Huge [00:13:00] issue. Pope Francis the co, the Council of Vatican ii, all the way back in the sixties kind of dialed back and went back on the traditional Latin mass. And what we should really just say is the traditional Latin mass is not just saying the mass in Latin. There's a whole. Environment around that, where the people who are into the traditional Latin mass have certain political views, certain theological views. Popes later on, after Vatican two started to give the Latin mass a little bit more consideration. John Paul two light loosened up and allowed more groups to do this Latin mass. And then Pope Benedict. Loosened it a lot more, but Pope Francis really pulled back the reigns on how much the Latin mass was allowed and he fairly much banded except for certain groups and [00:14:00] certain circumstances. Now, politically speaking, that's a whole different ball of wax. Like I said, regionally that's gonna change a lot because a conservative in Europe is going to look a lot different than, uh, conservative from say, the United States and what they believe in. Another big issue is on abortion, generally speaking. Abortion is an ex communicatable offense. If somebody gets an abortion, you're out and there's not a lot of options to get back in. You're more liberally inclined. Uh, pres and Cardinals would be willing to give people who have women who have had an abortion an option to get back into the church. Then we have this age issue, and age is very, it can be complicated because. Popes do not have to resign. [00:16:00] So you a, a cardinal could be right on the cusp of nine, uh, that 80-year-old of where they're no longer payable, but that cardinal could be 79 and 364 days old. Get elected Pope and still have good 10 years or more left in them and could still make a lot of changes. But then again, you have Cardinals who are in their fifties. They could have a 20 year reign no problem, and be very transformative. You could have a cardinal get picked who's very administrative minded and doesn't wanna make these big changes and all these different issues that are at play. There's just, we're talking about. Each, each single category that I've laid out, four, four different, five different categories, that they could be all over the place on these and inside of the conclave. They could be looking for somebody who's a little bit [00:17:00] of this, a little bit of that. It could just get down to the fact that as the, as the ballots start rolling out. They could go to somebody all together who's not any of these, and the cardinals could go for somebody who's in a way, opposed to them on many of the issues just because of way, the way this balloting inside of the conclave breaks down. There's probably going to be a lot of impetus for them to make it a, a conclave short. Like just let's boom, boom, boom and get it done with. There could be, but they could also get drawn out and it could take months. We just don't know. Pope Francis was a very quick conclave, not many ballots, but that doesn't necessarily mean the way it, it could play out in this current enclave. There's just so, so many factors at play. Then the, there's the, also the issue, a big issue [00:18:00] that in a lot of ways Pope Francis pun punted on, he talked a big game, but he didn't do much with the huge issue of the child sex abuse scandal. That's really been rocking the church since the sixties, but it's really played out during Francis' Reign. And Francis in Word took a very hard line, but then he didn't do much. And a lot of cardinals who are in sitting in conclave right now have very questionable backgrounds on what they, they actually did to fight against this. Major, major scandal. They, uh, some of the cardinals were very loose on who they were, who they clamped down on of priests that were known to have been essentially predators, and some cardinals came down hard on them.[00:19:00] Just another issue at hand. Now getting into who were the really, the guys who are in the top on Poly Market. We have Pietro Parlin. He's the top contender right now by far on Poly Market. He is. Coming in at 29% chance there's over a million dollars in play at his, uh, election. You can buy a, a share in Cardinal Parlin at uh, 29 cents us. He's youngish at 70 years old. He's an Italian, he's all of these cardinals. Uh, the thing you can really say is that they're all insiders. They all have top jobs. They are top, um, they're really ingrained into the, the whole. [00:20:00] Administration of the church. You can't really be a cardinal without doing that. He is the Cardinal Bishop of Santi, Simon, uh, GI Angela. As his, um, official post, he's also a member of the Council of Cardinal Advisors, and he's had a bunch of jobs. He was consecrated. He's actually one of the rare, uh, cardinals that was put in place by Pope. Uh. Pope Benedict. So he's been a, he's been around, even though he is only 70 years old. Most of the, of the vast majority of the Cardinals were actually appointed by Francis at this point. So this Pietro Harlene, he is definitely one to keep your eye on. Steve here with a quick word from our sponsors. The next one on the list [00:21:00] is coming in at 18% with, um, a, a well over $1.1 million in volume trading volume. So he's being heavily traded. Is Luis San Antonio Tagle and he is a Filipino. Uh, Cardinal. He seems to lean a little bit more on the theologically and politically liberal side, just from, you know, real broad strokes. And he is very young coming in at 67 years old and he's a. Probably, uh uh, what you could really call is a Francis site, and I think if he became Pope, he would definitely continue Francis' reforms and Francis' policies going forward. And somebody like him, you could see a easily a 20 year reign out of somebody [00:22:00] like him, maybe 25 year reign, somebody who's only 67 years old. Then we have coming in just a few percent lower Mateo Zui. He is coming in at about eight, $800,000 in volume on poly market. He's another Italian. He's a, uh, straight from Rome again. Young at 69 years of age. He's, uh, he's the bishop of Bologna, which is a powerful Italian episcopate. Again, I mean, these guys, they're, uh, they're, every single one of the, the top contenders resumes are totally, totally. Insiders, uh, inside of the, the papal, the curia, and the administrative arm of the papacy. [00:23:00] He's definitely another liberal who, uh, on political issues for sure. And again, he's another one who's probably would very much continue a lot of Francis' policies. Then you have. Coming in at 9%. So these top four that I've mentioned, they are, they're taking up about 70% of poly market. Turkson is an African Pope, or he's a African Cardinal Archbishop of Cape Coast in Africa Again. Full resume of all these jobs inside of the curia. A lot of these, uh, it, it's very interesting amongst the African Cardinals. Uh, Cardinal Syrah is another one who, uh, he's a little bit lower on the list only coming in at 3%. Where to Turin [00:24:00] is in at 9%, but with a lot of trading volume of over a million dollars. In volume. The African cardinals are of particular note because they are, the Catholicism is just exploding in Africa and it's bringing in a lot of, uh. New converts who are converting from either different Protestant groups or from the Native African religions, but they're, they're bringing in a lot, a lot of new, new converts. So that's something to watch because you're really in a, uh, an, an expansion mode. So they have to make certain compromises with native. Internal politics in Africa as well as the particular needs of these, the, these new groups of people who are coming into the church [00:25:00] who. Have their own beliefs, but are with an evangelistic faith. Some are, when they become Catholics, they're going to be very much, they wanna follow the letter of the law, but also they have their own thoughts on issues. I. And because they are growing so much, they're a force to be reckoned with. And I think that it's not impossible that they could go with an African cardinal just because this is such a powerful and growing block. And then the last Pope coming in at, or the last PO potential Pope is Pierre Batista Pizza Ball, who is an Italian again. He's leaning in. He's leaning in some ways towards the conservatives, but also the liberals. He is kind of a moderate. But he's really big into interfaith dialogue or ecumenical relationships between the different churches. Now, [00:26:00] another huge issue that I didn't mention is where cardinals are falling on some of the big hot button issues and. Two of the big hot button international issues in 2025 is the UK Russo Ukrainian War, which really pits in a lot of ways Catholicism versus Eastern Orthodoxy because there's, wow. We could get into a lot of issues here. Western Ukraine is largely Roman Catholic. Eastern Ukraine is largely amongst, especially amongst the Russian population. Russian Orthodox with deep, deep, deep ties to the Russian Orthodox Church under the patriarch Cial. Then in the middle, stuck in the middle are the what the Eastern Orthodox will call uni eights. But, [00:27:00] um, they're these, uh, the self-governing. Churches that would on the outside look Eastern Orthodox, but are actually in communion with Rome and they're stuck in the middle. But then you also have Eastern Orthodox who are a part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church that's split away from the Russian Orthodox Church. They're accepted by some Eastern Orthodox but not accepted by the Russian Orthodox, so that's a huge issue going on. The popes of Rome have been sort of leaning more towards the, the breakaway Ukrainian Orthodox Church and against the Russian. Orthodox church inside of Ukraine. Huge political issue. Then you have the whole fight in the war that's currently going on in Gaza. [00:28:00] Now, that mostly focuses mu, most of the Gazen, uh, people are Muslim, but there's a significant Christian population and many of them are tied to the Eastern Orthodox Church. So beyond the religious issues, there's also the humanitarian issues for the Muslims and the Christians inside of Gaza. All issues that we're gonna have to look at, that we look at, uh, as outsiders not sitting inside of the conclave issues that. Many Catholics find very important to them, be it, uh, revolving around the Russo Ukrainian war and the war that's currently going inside of Gaza. Very important to many people in sitting inside of that conclave, the cardinals and the priest's laity, everybody who's outside of the conclave, [00:29:00] all issues that. Uh, we should be looking at and thinking about, and that these cardinals will certainly be looking at. So this is my little take on what to look for in the conclave, and definitely send in your comments and look for more. Coverage of conclave of 2025 coming up soon. I will talk to you next time. Listeners can expect to learn best practices for utilizing emojis in subject lines, preheaders, social media, and more to stand out and connect with their audience.Key Discussion Points:- Over 95% of email recipients can view emojis, so technical display issues are not a concern.- Emojis in subject lines can increase open rates by over 20% for business emails and 25% for consumer emails versus the same subject without an emoji.- Conservatively branded companies like Goldman Sachs, ISACA, and AARP use emojis successfully in their email marketing.- For business emails, use emojis like the calendar, clock, and checkmark that act as graphical symbols rather than emotional icons.- Emojis that convey urgency like the hourglass perform best, increasing subject line open rates.- Always put the emoji as the first character of the subject line for maximum impact.- Despite increased use around holidays, under 5% of emails actually use emojis currently so they still stand out.And MASSIVE thank you to our Sponsor, Marigold!!Marigold is a relationship marketing platform designed to help you acquire new customers and turn them into superfans with their best-in-class loyalty solutions. Today we are very much looking forward to bringing you all a conversation with Michel May that about a subject that has become very near to us - that is the issue of chemicals and harmful dyes found in the vast majority of our textiles and in particular, bedding, which we are sleeping in every night. This extends of course across all textiles, but as our guest has launched a completely natural, plant based dyed bedding company, we want to focus a bit on that for today. For some context, the global textile industry churns out millions of tons of products annually. 80% of those products are petrochemical-based, such as the non-biodegradable polyester fabrics. And the majority of commercially-used textile dye is made from oil, tar, heavy metals, and toxic chemicals. Conservatively, 60% of all dyes are AZO dyes – known carcinogens. Chlorobenzenes, common to both herbicides and dyes alike, are toxic when inhaled or when in direct contact with the skin. Not to mention that the chemical formaldehyde is a favorite for any fabric advertised as wrinkle-resistant sheets. So what's the good news here for our bodily and planetary health? That there are wonderful people coming up with wonderful, nature based solutions! So now on to my guest Michel of Aizome. Aizome craft luxuriously soft, healthy bedding, made entirely from plants. Using the magic of ultrasoundAIZOME has revived the lost art of plant dye for a modern, global market, infusing 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton with the pigment and properties of ancient medicinal herbs to create the naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic, skin-soothing sheets that are durable, colorfast, and free from all synthetics and toxins, from seed to sheet. The goal is to connect like-minded people and build a strong local community. The realities of cyberattacks are not going away. Based on what we know, we have no idea how big the problem is because a lot of individuals and organizations just don't report attacks. Conservatively, Cyber Protection Magazine estimates that half of all the attacks are unreported. More knowledgeable people than us say it's more like 90 per cent. As we have reported in past podcasts, that is likely due to a combination of complacency and just not knowing what to do. We talked to Emil Sayegh, CEO of Ntirety, a company that helps small to midsize organizations reach security compliance with best practices and new privacy legislation. Ntirety is one of dozens of similar companies that are doing quite well. Sayegh claims they have 2400 customers, which is impressive in and of itself. But 2400 customers is a long way from any one industry being protected. Even 240,000 would be a drop in the bucket. That doesn't mean you have to be their customer, or a customer of any competitor to get started. Sayegh outlined a five-point plan in our discussion. In “What In The World Is Going On”, Rodney shares that Pastor's are being asked this more, right now, more than any time in my ministry. Is this the end of the world? Is Jesus about ready to return? Is it time for Armageddon? Wouldn't you like to know? Conservatively, Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament that predicted his first arrival, death, and resurrection. There are a few prophecies that still need to be fulfilled before the return of Jesus Christ, but there are “0” prophecies that need to be fulfilled before the rapture of the Church. It would behoove us to examine the words of Jesus related to what he says about the end times, and compare it to what we are currently experiencing. If the words of Jesus are true, then we need to pay attention. We may be only moments away from God doing something really spectacular and you don't want to miss it. The scriptures teach Jesus will return again, but until he does Christians are to be about fulfilling the mission of Jesus, until all the world has heard his message.
Here are the first 5 minutes of Bill's interview! Unfortunately, we had some connection issues so we had to cut the recording short, but below is a brief synopsis of what we talked about: What would you tell your 30 year old self teaching tennis? To not stay at the club the whole time- Go and be with your family! Who are your mentors? Branch Curington, Ruth Lay Teaching Pro Mentors: Jerry Baskin ED: John Callen, Henry Talbert from Southern California Peers and Colleagues: Andrea Sanders and Darren Potkey Maria Cercone, Sandy Hastings, Mary Hatfield You have a unique hobby of collecting golf balls- what's the rough estimate of golf balls you've picked up over the years? Conservatively, more than 5k and less than 10k (and sidenote: Bill gives most of them away!) Rapid Fire Questions If you could have a meal with 1-3 people, who would it be: Eric Voges, Mary Hatfield, and Sandy Hastings at Champy's Chicken in Chattanooga. Last night's dinner: The best New York Pizza south of New York at a local place called Napoli's with my wife Bonnie and two good friends from Southern California. One surprising fact about yourself: I've been walking and exercising a lot more and lost 55lbs! What are you reading/watching/or listening to right now? I watched the Superbowl (my kids knew all the words to Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 cent-- who they are now calling $1.50 since he has bulked up a little bit!). We also watched the new Jack Reacher series on Amazon Prime. What's one item on your bucket list? I'd like to drive across the country, to the west coast, taking my time, however long it takes in my Tesla. When are you coming out with your cookbook about the best places to eat in the United States? It's still happening! A lot of my best eating has been at Gas Stations. Today we ate at a place called Weezer's in Gainesville, GA and the food was great there too. Is there anything you'd like to mention/any shout outs? The sport I've been playing the most in the last year and a half is Pickleball and it's going to grow, but The USTA has the greatest delivery system for youth tennis/for any sport- look at the tournament structure, the coaches, the facilities, and everything that is available. There is no other sport that comes close to what tennis does for people (the opportunity, the life skills) and we need to focus on increasing the amount of junior tennis and the support for it! Etsy Predictions for 2022 and 2021 Recap At the end of 2020, I wrote a blog post about 3 things I predicted Etsy would do in 2021. I went back to check in on them, and at first, it was a little murky deciding on if my predictions materialized or not. Conservatively, we saw half-correctness of 2 of my 3 predictions. I had another prediction that I didn't publish when I wrote the original article, mainly because it was boring. I did anticipate that Etsy would implement payment plans, and they did! You can now pay for Etsy purchases over several payments through a service called Klarna. So that's a cool feature; it's just not a particularly exciting one to talk about. In this interview pro mining investor David provides his commentary on the gold price and junior gold stock sector. David explains his belief that the gold price could quickly run to $3,000/oz. Conservatively this could happen by 2024, he says, but David also thinks we could see $3,000/oz. even by next year. David Erfle is a self-taught mining sector investor. He stumbled upon the mining space in 2003 as he was looking to invest into a growing sector of the market. After researching the gains made from the 2001 bottom in the tiny gold and silver complex, he became fascinated with this niche market. So much so that in 2005 he decided to sell his home and invest the entire proceeds from the sale into junior mining companies. When his account had tripled by September, 2007, he decided to quit his job as the Telecommunications Equipment Buyer at UCLA and make investing in this sector his full-time job. David founded the Junior Miner Junky subscription-based newsletter in April, 2017 and writes a weekly column for precious metals news service Kitco.com, whose website attracts nearly a million visits every day. “And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." Someone correctly said, “If you want to know what happened yesterday or is going on today, listen to the news on the radio or TV, or read the newspaper. But if you want to know what is going to happen in the future, read the Bible!” For sure the Bible is a divinely inspired Revelation! The Bible is also a Book of prophecy. It correctly describes and tells of future events and is always one-hundred percent accurate. Alfred Edersheim, a great Bible scholar, found 456 Old Testament verses referring to the Messiah or His times that were written hundreds of years before His first coming. Conservatively, Jesus fulfilled at least 300 of these prophecies in His earthly ministry of thirty-three years. That means that there are then at least 156 more prophesies concerning Jesus that still need to be fulfilled. If Jesus literally fulfilled in detail that many prophecies already, I'm convinced He will fulfill the rest of them with His second coming! We have been highlighting some of the events that the scriptures reveal will take place in the end times. One of the things we need to always keep in mind as we study the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation, is that one of the major themes is the Kingdom! The Bible ends with Jesus, the King coming back to earth to receive His bride, the church and set up His Kingdom to rule and reign a thousand years. So far, we have talked about the next event on God's agenda, which is the rapture of the church. After that event, the seven year Tribulation will begin. While that is happening on earth, in heaven there will be the Judgement Seat of Christ for the believers. The Tribulation will end with Jesus coming back to the earth where He bind and cast Satan into the bottomless pit for one-thousand years. After which the Great White Throne Judgment will take place and eternity will begin. One event we haven't mentioned so far, is what is called the “Marriage of the Lamb.” This event is found in Revelation 19, taking place in heaven just before the Lord comes back to earth at the end of the Tribulation. For there to be a marriage you need a bridegroom and a bride. It is very clear to me that the Scripture teaches that Jesus is Bridegroom and the Church is the Bride. (Luke 5:32-35; John 3:27-30; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:22-32) In the Old Testament, Israel is pictured as the “wife” of God in many passages. She commits adultery through her idolatry and God divorces her by setting her aside. Then in the New Testament, during the church age, God is preparing a bride for His Son. The wedding service seems to take place and will be privately conducted in heaven shortly after the bema judgment seat of Christ. The wedding supper which is the celebration stage will be conducted on earth shortly after the Second Coming of Jesus just before His Millennium reign. The Father of all grace (whose wealth is unlimited) will rise to the occasion by giving His Son and the bride a hallelujah celebration which will last a thousand years! My friend, this is preparation time for us as the bride of Christ! He is coming soon for His bride! Will you be ready? (Matthew 25:1-13) God bless!

This week's guest is Lisa Mehling, the owner of Chelsea Pictures, who last month were named the winner of the Palme D'Or as the Production Company of the Year at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. Lisa doesn't like to talk about herself. But her journey is an important one to understand as we struggle to build a society that supports all people. The single biggest decision we make in our lives is this. How will we use the time we get while we are here? How will we spend this moment? And this one? And this? Are we reacting or acting? Waiting or moving? Hoping or choosing? Time has moved differently over the last 18 months. We have learned new rhythms - some faster, some slower. But very little about the way we have spent our time has felt familiar. Until we got used to it, and it did. Sometimes in good ways. Sometimes in bad. And then the vaccines came. And now we have to figure out how we spend our time all over again. Which makes this moment a gift. I'm fortunate to see across and inside a wide range of industries and businesses. And what I'm increasingly certain of is that what came before 2020 will have increasingly little to do with what comes after. We have been living for a long time with norms and expectations that were designed and implemented during the Industrial Age. The 40 hour work week for instance, despite all the data that shows working fewer hours dramatically increases both performance and personal well-being. The Industrial Age started in about 1760 and ended sometime in the mid 20th century. Conservatively, that means we left the Industrial Age about 70 years ago. And yet we're still tied to its apron strings. Human beings are creatures of habit, genetically, biologically, built on rhythms. The rising of the sun, the speed of our breathing, the gestation period of creating new life. There are so many fundamental aspects of our existence that we can't control. But if you're listening to this podcast, there are many, many things about your life that you can control. You have agency. To decide and to act. To test the boundaries of what is possible and to discover who you are in the process. The power to unlock creative thinking and innovation depends on challenging assumptions and breaking down norms. Or, as Lisa said, of not waiting for permission that you don't need. These moments are fleeting. New structures and practices and expectations and processes will be here before we know it. So you can wait until someone tells you what's allowed. Or you can save yourself ten years and decide yourself.

Lately we've been inundated with news of people becoming millionaires overnight. 2021 has been the year of the ‘meme' stock and this phenomenon has made it even more difficult for investors to keep their eye on the ball. For example, AMC recently announced a new program offering perks for shareholders which sent the stock through the roof. This new form of shareholder activism can be exciting but it's not always a durable investment strategy for long-term investing. Today we'll discuss the 15/50 Stock Rule, which helps guide investors in maintaining a balance between risk and reward according to their time horizon. The 15/50 portfolio idea has been around for decades, championed by Columbia Business School professor Benjamin Graham (mentor to famed billionaire investor Warren Buffet), as well as Vanguard founder, John Bogle. In this episode, we'll focus on the conversation soon-to-be retirees are likely having which is, ‘how much as a percentage of our portfolio should we have in stocks over time?' The true face of the Chinese Communist Party was exposed 32 years ago tonight in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. Conservatively ten thousand people were massacred there by the CCP’s military as they demonstrated for democracy around a version of our Statue of Liberty. To its eternal shame, the George H.W. Bush administration immediately dispatched National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft to assure the Chinese Communists that we wouldn’t allow their mass murder to interfere with business as usual. The rest, as they say, is history. The CCP took our measure, found our leaders and elites to be corrupt, unprincipled and weak, and furiously pursued the destruction of our country and world domination ever since. We must now prove them wrong. Or, as Ronald Reagan said, we’ll be reduced to telling our children what it was like to live in America when men were free. This is Frank Gaffney.

The Mayo Clinic reports 2-6% of school aged children in the U.S. have fibromyalgia. Conservatively, that means 14.8 million kids struggle with fibro fog, chronic pain and a host of other confusing and debilitating symptoms. Dr. Melissa Congdon joins us with the message that pediatric fibromyalgia is very treatable, meaning you and your child can enjoy their time as children. Learn how getting an early diagnosis makes a huge difference in helping your child succeed at school, in sports and beyond. Key Points Does your child wake up crying or feeling fussy without illness or a known cause? Does your child come home from school some days exhausted, some days not? Homework: Does your child have trouble remembering what they have studied for a test? Sports: Does your child perform well on some days, but on others they have trouble keeping up? If your child has a first degree relative with fibromyalgia, they are 8-1/2 times more likely to develop this syndrome themselves. Might your child have fibromyalgia? About Dr. Melissa Congdon Dr. Congdon practiced general pediatrics in Glendale and Mill Valley, California for 18 years until severe fibromyalgia symptoms forced her to retire from medical practice in 2008. Her diagnosis led her to a comprehensive study of the various treatment options for fibromyalgia. Using a combination of diet, exercise, acupuncture, supplements, medications, the guaifenesin protocol, and other modalities, she was able to return to medical practice in 2009, and chose to become a fibromyalgia consultant. She trained with fibromyalgia expert and author Dr. R. Paul St. Amand, Internist, Endocrinologist, and Associate Professor at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Melissa Congdon is board certified in pediatrics, and sees children and adults in her fibromyalgia and pediatric consulting practice. Dr. Melissa Congdon chose to focus on fibromyalgia medicine after her recovery from fibromyalgia symptoms, and caring for children is her first love. Dr. Congdon has 18 years of private practice experience as a board certified pediatrician, an undergraduate degree in psychology, and the experience gained in raising two children of her own. Dr. Congdon offers pediatric consultations to families and since 2009 has treated hundreds of adults and children with fibromyalgia. You can reach out to her at MelissaCongdonMD.com. Inspired by her fibromyalgia patients, Dr. Congdon produced a 30 minute documentary, “Fibromyalgia: Getting Our Lives Back—Success Stories on the Guaifenesin Protocol” which she has made available for free online for everyone to learn more about fibromyalgia and this treatment option. In 1999 Dr. St. Amand, an experienced endocrinologist and UCLA assistant clinical professor, published his effective protocol for reversing fibromyalgia, based on nearly half a century of research, including his own experience with the disease and that of hundreds of his patients. This third edition of the book offers the latest research and Dr. St. Amand's breakthrough program that uses guaifenesin, an inexpensive, safe, and increasingly available medication that can help reverse the disease. The authors have seen symptoms eliminated and normal living restored in an astonishing 95% of the pediatric fibromyalgia sufferers they treated with guaifenesin. We have designed a Symptom Observations worksheet to help you track your child’s symptoms to make it easier to report during your visits with medical providers. How it went from Gold Plates to the Book of Mormon ---Transcript--- Hey everyone, this is Russell. I want to welcome you guys back to the Book of Mormon Challenge podcast. I am super excited for today's episode. I apologize to those who have been waiting. It has taken a while. It's interesting how when you try to move forward on important things like this how many things get in the way. So today, I got my kids ready for school, I woke up early this morning to get all the outlines prepared, got up, got my kids out the door to school, and then now I'm back in here recording this before I'm allowing myself to go into the office and get started on my day, to make sure you guys have it. Because I keep wanting to dive into 1 Nephi Chapter 1, I've got the entire episode all prepared and ready, and there's so much exciting stuff I want to share with you. But I felt like there was a preamble, something I needed to give and share with you before that. And it's the story of how we actually got the Book of Mormon. I'm sitting here in my office, and I have as you know, one of the original 5000 books that was printed here. And I'm not so much going to go into how the book was printed and published and things like that, that's not the purpose of the podcast. But how did we actually get it? Every time I share anything with my friends who aren't members of the church, they are confused, “So what is this? A new Bible? A new translation?” And not matter how many times I explain it they always get confused. So I want to kind of go through the details of the story and it's one of the most amazing, insane, cool stories in the history of the world, yet nobody seems to talk about it very much. So I wanted to share it because I think it's important. And my goal, in fact, my entire goal of this podcast, I think I've told you. There's a couple of reasons, one is to get me to really get back into studying and learning and trying to find out the most amazing things from the Book of Mormon. But number two is to get you excited about the Book of Mormon. It's not so much me telling you my commentary on the Book of Mormon, that's not my goal. My goal is to talk about it in a way that gets you so excited after you hear the episode that you have to go and open it, you have to read the next chapter or the next verse. If I can do that, then I've done my job correctly. So I figure the best thing I can do today is get you so excited that if you haven't got the Book of Mormon yet, you're like, “Alright I'm going to go and just buy one, I'm going to go order it online.” Whatever you need to do, you're going to get one and so you'll actually open it and start reading it. So that's my goal today, just to get you pumped by….because the back story about how it came to be because it really is fascinating. And hopefully you've listened to some of the earlier episodes, I talk about the history and all those kind of things. If not, please go back to the very beginning. I'm trying to, all these episodes kind of build on each other. So make sure you're listening to them as you go. But this story is really, really cool. If you listened to a couple of episodes ago, I talked about Joseph Smith and his first vision. So if you remember that, I'll kind of recap it really quickly. As a 14 year old kid he was confused and trying to figure out which church to join, and he went and he prayed and had a vision where Heavenly Father and Jesus came to him and said, “Don't join any of the churches.” And he was like, “What? I never even considered that.” And they're like, “Yeah, don't join any church. None of them are here and you're going to be an instrument to help bring back my true church here on the earth.” So he has this vision and he goes and tells his family about it, tells other people and he thinks that everyone is going to be excited to hear that Heavenly Father and Jesus came to him, and what actually happened was the opposite. He was lucky to have his family and people close to him believe him, but most of the people in the community didn't. And he was persecuted really heavily. He was, his family was, and it was a really, really difficult time for the next few years. If you can imagine as a young boy having this vision and then not hearing from Heavenly Father again, you're like, “What happened? Did I do something wrong?” You know, what's the next step? So that's kind of where this part of the story picks up. It's Joseph Smith wondering that same thing, what's the next step? So most of this podcast is going to be coming from two different things. One is Joseph Smith History. I went through the history and found some really cool parts of the story to tell. And the second one is a talk given by President Russell M. Nelson, who is the living prophet of the church today. This is a talk he gave called A Treasured Testament. He gave it a long time ago, I don't know, 1992. So a long time ago, but it kind of tells the back story and shares some of the amazing insights, some amazing quoting of stuff from that as well. The goal of both of these things is to get you so excited to open up the book and start reading with me because the next episode we are going 1 Nephi Chapter 1, and we're finally going to be diving in. So what happened, in Joseph Smith History he was talking about how there had been a space of time between the first vision and he was trying to figure out what to do. And he said during that time, you know he was a young boy. He was a teenager, and as most teenagers, I've got two boys, twin boys who are going to become teenagers here in about two months or three months from now. And he started just doing what teenagers do and he said, “I frequently fell into many foolish errors and displayed the weaknesses of youth and foibles of human nature. I'm sorry to say it lead me to diverse temptations offensive in the sight of God. But in making this confession, no one needs to suppose me guilty of any great or malignant sins, a disposition to commit such was never in my nature, but I was guilty of levity and sometimes associating with jovial company, etc. Not consistent with the character of which ought to maintained by one who was called of God, as I had been.” So can you imagine that? You're a young kid and you see Heavenly Father, you see Jesus, but then you're a teenager and you're doing stupid stuff and whatever, but always having that guilt of, I should be better. I know better than this. But continually falling back on those ways. And I don't know about you, but I have those things all the time, where I feel like our Heavenly Father has blessed me so, so greatly, yet I do stupid things. I'm like, “Why am I doing this? I should be better than that.” And I think he felt the same way, obviously. He goes on and said, “I often felt condemned for my weaknesses and imperfections.” So that's kind of how he felt going into this. So it'd been I think 3 or 4 years after the first vision and he was like, “Alright, I need to find out where I fit with God.” And hopefully all of us have this conversation. It's a scary one, it's one that sometimes I don't think any of us really want to go ask because you might find out and that can be kind of scary. But Joseph Smith thought, I'm going to find out what God thinks. Am I doing okay? Where am I at with him? So he goes on to say, “I betook myself to prayer and supplication to the Almighty God for forgiveness of all my sins and my follies. And also for a manifestation to me that I might know of my state and standing before him.” Can you imagine going to Heavenly Father like, “Okay, so I need to know my state and my standing. How am I doing? Am I doing good, am I doing bad?” something that I'm sure we're all super curious about, but man, that's a scary thing. What if he told you? What if he was like, “Man, you're doing a horrible job Russell.”? But he did that. But first, he asked for forgiveness of his sins, “I know I've not been doing what you, I haven't been living up to what I believe what you want me to be, so I'm asking for forgiveness. And then I want to know my standing. How am I doing? What should I be doing? You came to me, what now? Obviously you don't come to everyone, what was the purpose, and what should I be doing?” He goes on to say, “I want to know of my state and standing before him, for I had a full confidence in obtaining a divine manifestation as I'd previously had one.” Can you imagine, he's like, “I've had a vision before, I'm probably going to have one again.” He just believed it that much. I think most of us, we forget of the miracles we've had in our life and we just kind of pass them off, whereas he was like, “You know I had a miracle last time, he came and visited me. I think he's going to visit me again. Let's go pray.” And he did that, which is such a cool thing. So much faith, I wish I had that faith like that. So he went in there and asked for forgiveness of his sins, he prayed to know his state before God and what happened next is amazing. What happened next is an angel came and appeared to him in his room. And the angel's name was Moroni. So those of you guys who don't know who Moroni is yet, you know obviously the word Mormon from the Book of Mormon. So Mormon was the last prophet, one of the last prophets in the Book of Mormon and he had a son named Moroni. Moroni was the last one who was kind of writing all the history and he was the last righteous person in the land at the time, so he had been entrusted with these Gold Plates. These are metal pages that they had been etching in their history for 600 years of what was happening with them and with God, it was their journals. So he had all of these, they called them Gold Plates, where they were metal pages and they all had all these things etched in them. So Moroni had these and before he died he went and buried them in a hill so that nobody could find them. But they were a history of his people. So that's kind of who Moroni was. So he's sitting there in bed praying to find out his standing before God and all the sudden this angel appears to him. And the angel's name was Moroni and Moroni started talking to him. And the first thing Moroni tells him is, “Hey, just so you know Joseph Smith, my name should be had for good and evil among all nations, kindred's and tongues, where there should be both good and evil spoken among all people.” So you imagine that, an angel comes and just so you know, if you start on this mission, your name is going to be used for good and evil. So people who love you are going to think that you are the greatest thing in the world, and the rest of the world is going to hate you and think you're an evil, horrible person. Can you imagine stepping into your mission, you know at this time he was, I don't know how old he was at the time, but still a teenager, maybe 18-19 years old or something like that. And say, just so you know if you decide to go on this mission, your mission should you choose to accept it is this thing and your name is going to be used for both good and evil. So then he goes on and says, “Okay, there was a book deposited, written on gold plates, giving the account of the former inhabitants of this continent and the source from whence they sprang.” He also said, “That the fullness of the everlasting gospel is contained in it, as delivered by the savior to the ancient inhabitants.” So he said, there's these gold plates that I buried up in the mountain. He said that on these's plates are record of the ancient Indians, the people who used to live here in America. And it talks about when the savior came to them. He said that, “I buried these in the mountain and I also, because I know that you don't know how to speak the language that we wrote in, there are also two stones and silver bows, and these stones fastened to the breast plate constitute what are called the Urim and Thummim.” And he says, “The Urim and Thummin are what were called seer stones, these stones are what would constitute seers in ancient or former times, and that God had prepared them for the purpose of translating this book.” So he didn't know what these were, but he said, “There's these seer stones, if you look through them you'll be able to translate the Book of Mormon, they're also buried in the mountain.” And he kind of explained the whole thing. So I'm sure Joseph Smith is like, “Oh my gosh, this is so cool. There's these buried gold plates in a mountain and there's these seer stones. If I look through the stones I can translate this ancient language.” This is, I don't know about you, but this is better than any movie in the history of the world. So the angel's telling him this stuff, then after that the angel starts quoting him scriptures. So he's quoting him scriptures from Isaiah and Malachi and all these things. So he's quoting these scriptures and he quotes the scripture and he says, ‘This is about to be fulfilled.” And he quotes another scripture and says, “This is about to be fulfilled.” And he quotes another one and says, “This is not yet fulfilled, but it's soon going to be.” So the angel is like telling him, all these things these ancient prophets wrote about, like Isaiah, all these people, they testified that in the coming days, in the future, these things are going to happen. He's like, all those things are being fulfilled right now. You are the literal fulfillment of all these prophecies of all the prophets up until this point. Can you imagine being this kid, sitting here thinking I've read Isaiah, I've read these people, I've read these words and what they were talking about was happening. I'm experiencing this right now. Can you imagine that? Imagine yourself as a kid going through this. So he goes through the things, he shares all these things, and at the end of it, then the angel leaves. So Joseph is sitting here in bed going, “What in the world just happened? An angel visited me, told me about these gold plates, these really cool Urim and Thummim, seer stones, I'll be able to translate this book. Then he started telling me all these, quoting these scriptures and telling me that all this stuff is actually happening right now and it's coming true. And he's telling all this stuff….” And as he's thinking about it, pondering and meditating about it, all the sudden the light comes back in the room and the angel appears again. So the angel appears a second time and then tells him the exact same thing. And he's like, “What in the world?” So he tells him the exact same thing as the first time. So he's like, okay I get it. He listened to the whole thing, and the second time the angel added something, he said he informed him, “There's going to be great judgments which are coming upon the earth and great desolations by famine, sword and pestilence and these grievous judgments should come upon the earth in this generation.” So he said that and then he left again. So the first time he comes and tells the story and leaves. The second time he comes again and tells the entire story again and then he's like, “Oh by the way, in the very near future the whole world is going to be roght with desolations, famine, sword, pestilences and the grievous judgments are coming upon the earth because this is a wicked time and a wicked place we live in.” and then he leaves. Can you imagine, Joseph Smith is probably like, “What? An angel came to me twice. You just told me again that all the fulfillment of all these prophecies are happening…” and he's sitting there thinking about it, and guess what happened? The same messenger came a third time. He said he gave him the exact same message again, but this time he added a caution, and this is what he said, “The same messenger at my bedside and I heard him rehearse or repeat over again to me the same things as before, and this time he added a caution to me telling me that Satan would try to tempt me in consequences of my indignant circumstances in my father's family.” Because Joseph Smith's family was really poor at the time, “To get the plates for the purpose of being rich. This he forbade me saying I must have no other object in view of getting the plates but to glorify God, and must not be influenced by any other motive than that of building the kingdom. Otherwise, I would not get them.” So he comes back and tells the whole thing and says, “Oh by the way, these gold plates are worth a ton of money and just so you know, you are going to be tempted like crazy from Satan to sell these things because you are poor and you are broke and if you try to use that for any purpose like that, if you even think about it, you're not going to get them.” In fact, in another spot he actually says, “You'll be destroyed if you try to use them for anything else.” Can you imagine this angel telling you, just be good or you're going to be destroyed. I don't know about you, but that would scare me a lot. So he gets the warning, be careful what you do with these because it really, really matters. So then the angel leaves again, and that's when it ends. So now he's sitting there, and he's laying there in bed and all the sudden the sun starts coming up and he realizes, “I've been talking to this angel the entire night.” So he gets up and he's like, “I gotta go to work in the farm.” So he runs out, starts working in the farm and he's super tired, he hasn't slept all night and his dad notices how tired he is and says, “Go back home, go take a nap, go get some sleep.” So he's walking back to the house and he's jumping over this fence as he's going back to the house and he passes out, literally falls on the floor and just goes unconscious. And a few minutes later he wakes up, and guess who he sees when he wakes up? The same angel again. And the angel tells him the same message again. The entire message. Then after he tells him the message, then he's like, “Go tell your dad what I just told you.” I wonder if he was just like, “Dude, I spent the entire night with you. Why wouldn't you have told your parents about this?” So he tells him the whole message again and says, “Go tell your father.” So Joseph Smith gets back up, walks over to his dad and is like, “Alright dad, this is what happened, a messenger came…” and tells him the whole thing and his dad, and this is so telling of the relationship this father and son had, his father told him, “This is from God. You need to go do exactly what the angel told you to do.” So the angel had told him in the vision exactly where the gold plates were at, and they were in a hill called Hill Cumorah, which happened to be right by his house. I wish I had time, I wish I had enough time to have researched this ahead of time, I wanted to but I just ran out of time and I wanted to get this episode out. But it's interesting, all the things the lord had to do to get Joseph Smith to end up in Palmyra, New York next to the Hill Cumorah. His family wasn't born there, he wasn't raised there, they were born somewhere else. And there were all sorts of insane things. There was a volcano that erupted that made their family crops die, which made them go bankrupt, which made them move their farm three or four times to eventually get to this spot hundreds of miles, I don't know how far away, hundreds of miles away from where they were born and raised to this farm that happened to be next to the exact same spot where angel Moroni, where Moroni before he was an angel, where Moroni had buried these plates. So the lord had moved their family and shoved them to this spot, boom, so they were in the right spot to be able to go and get those plates. So Joseph Smith knew where, he'd seen the vision of exactly where it was at, so he walked over to the Hill Cumorah and found the spot where those plates were at and let's see if I can find where it says….its talking about the Hill Cumorah, he said, “On the west side of this hill, not far from the top under a stone of considerable size, lay the plates deposited in a stone box. The stone was thick and rounding in the middle and on the upper sides, and thinner towards the edges so that the middle part of it was visible above the ground, but the edges all around were covered with earth.” So imagine this, Joseph finds this spot and he's like, “This is it, this is the spot.” And then he started digging it out. So it says, “Having removed the earth, I obtained a lever which I got fixed under the edge of the stone, and with a little exertion I raised it up, I looked in and there indeed I beheld the plates and the Urim and Thummim, and the breast plate, as stated by the messenger. The box in which they lay was formed by laying stones together in some kind of cement. In the bottom of the box lay two stones cross ways over the box and on these stones lay the plates and the other things with them.” Can you imagine that? You have these visions and then you go and you find this rock, you move the rock and then boom, in there, just like the angel had said, there are these gold plates, and there's the Urim and Thummim to translate, everything is there. I can't even imagine, as a teenaged kid, can you imagine find that? That's like the greatest treasure in the world. So the first thing he does when he sees it, is start grabbing it to pull it out. That's the first thing I would do, I need to touch it. And he started to grab it and he said, “I made an attempt to take them out, but was forbidden by the messenger and was again informed that the time for bringing them forth had not yet arrived, and neither would it until four years from that time. But he told me I should come to that place in precisely one year from that time, and that he would there meet with me, and that I should continue to do so until the time should come for obtaining the plates.” So he's like, “don't touch these plates, you're not allowed to.” And he's like, “Ah, but I want the gold. This is so cool.” And the angel's like, “Don't touch it. You gotta come back next year.” So he goes on to say, “Accordingly, as I had been commanded, I went at the end of each year and at each time I found the same messenger there and received instructions and intelligences from him at each of our interviews, respecting what the lord was going to do and how in what manner his kingdom was to be conducted in the last days.” So every year for four years he goes back, the angel talks to him again, sends him away. He comes back and keeps doing this for four more years. So for four years he gets to learn about him, see him. I'm sure, can you imagine how much curiosity he'd have, “What is on these things. I want to read them so bad.” Okay, then fast forward a little bit later, after four years, he says, “The length of time had arrived for obtaining the plates and the Urim and Thummim and the breast plates on the 22nd day of September 1827, having gone as usual at the end of another year, to the place where they were deposited. The same heavenly messenger delivered them unto me with this charge, that I should be responsible for them, that if I should let them go carelessly or through any neglect of mine that I should be cut off. But if I would use all my endeavors to preserve them until he, the messenger, should call for them, that I should be protected.” So I'm going to trust you with these gold plates, but if you lose or you neglect them you will be cut off. I don't know exactly what cut off means, but it does not sound like very much fun. So he finally gets the gold plates and the chance to take them, and there's rumors. Because he's been talking about this, he's told people an angel came to him, there's gold plates, he told people about it and people didn't believe him. But they thought, “Well, if he does have gold plates then we want them.” And the persecutions that came from that point forward were insane, people trying to steal them and trying to murder him. There are so many stories that I just don't have time to tell you guys today, but it's crazy. But I do want to share a little bit about the translation process, because this is the coolest part. This is why this book, again I'm holding in my hand right now, one of the original 5000, why this book is so exciting. Because imagine this, if somebody told you there was this book that was inscribed upon golden plates that the ancient American's told their stories, their dealings with God, the talked about God, when Christ came to them, and the entire history of their life, and if you read this book you'll understand Jesus, and Christ and salvation better than anything else on earth. And it's all on these gold plates. And to be able to read it you have to translate, and there were these little seer stones that you look through and as you look through them you'll see the character and it will tell you what the actual word needs to be and be able to find out and decode this book and find out what it is. If someone told me that, I'd be like, “I have to read this book. This sounds like the most exciting, interesting, fascinating story in the history of world.” And it is, yet hardly anybody in the world knows about it. That's what us, as Mormons are always talking about. “If you understood what's in this book you would go crazy. If you knew what was here, if you realized what we had to go through to get this.” Imagine Joseph Smith going back for four years and seeing these gold plates and wondering what in the world is on there. These have been protected for thousands of years from the world and now today they are, the lord is telling me let's bring these out. Aren't you curious what's on there? Aren't you curious, all the revelations, all the prophecies of Isaiah and Malachi, all these prophecies where the angel came back and said, “Look, this is the literal fulfillment of that prophecy. Isaiah was talking about this moment right here.” Aren't you curious what he's talking about? What's actually inside the book? I don't know how you couldn't be curious. It drives me wild when people are like, “Oh, well I'm not going to read it.” It doesn't make any logical sense to me whatsoever, even just out of raw curiosity. What in the world could possibly be in here? Especially when you have people like me where it's literally changed their life. If you look at, I can't even tell you happiness…everything…if you know me and follow me and wonder, “Man, why is Russell so happy?” This is the foundation of why. So I don't know how much more of an endorsement I can give than that. This will bring you more peace, security, happiness….I don't even know how…it's everything I'm saying and a whole much more. It's insane. So I'm hopefully getting you excited to like, “What was on those gold plates?” Aren't you curious? With that said, I'm going to jump over to this talk from President Russell M. Nelson that he gave back in 1992 because there are some quotes I'm going to share from this. So I'm going to read some parts because it's going to explain how the translation part worked. Because if you think about this, Joseph Smith was a young boy, he had no formal education, he could barely read, and he had in a very, very short period of time, and I'll explain that here in a second, had to take these gold plates that were written in some ancient language that most people didn't even know at the time, and he had to translate them into English, and he did the whole thing in less than three months. So how is that even possible? Now me, as an author I've written two books, those who know me, I'm writing book number three right now, just for me to write a book, it takes me four or five years of research, one year of actual writing, and my books aren't even that good compared to this. This book is weaving out 600 years of history from multiple different civilizations, inside the book there's all sorts of proof elements. One of the things in here is an ancient type of Hebrew poetry called Chiasmus, I'm probably going to pronounce it wrong, chiasmus, which is this really cool ancient type of poetry that we didn't even find out about until well after the Book of Mormon was published and then scholars found out about this thing. You go back to the Book of Mormon, the entire book is laced with this amazing poetry where sometimes it's within four or five versus, sometimes its wrapped within 20 or 30 chapters to be able to see the whole hierarchy of this poetry that's been built into the book. All these things that there's no way that Joseph Smith or any human could have done that, unless they lived at that time, actually doing it. Anyway, there's so many proof elements, but none of those matter. My goal, again is not to get you to prove any of this, other than to read it and pray and ask God, because he'll tell you. But just to get you excited and intrigued. Alright I'm going to jump into this talk. So the first thing that Russell M. Nelson said, he said, “I'm intrigued that Joseph Smith, an unschooled young man in rural America could have translated this Semitic language mix into the English language. The unlikely scenario relates to Isaiah's remarkable prophecy. In Isaiah Chapter 29, Verse 14 he said, ‘I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and wonder.' This, the becoming forth of the Book of Mormon, the restoration of the church, this is the marvelous work and wonder that Isaiah was prophesying about, that the angel Moroni came back and said, “Look…remember Isaiah was talking about a marvelous work and wonder that's going to happen in the last days, this is it. It begins today.” Can you imagine that? I'm going to go on and keep reading this. It says, “Truly this latter day work is precisely that. Think of the short time that Joseph Smith took to translate the Book of Mormon. Working from April to June of 1828, Joseph translated the first 116 pages that Martin Harris later lost.” So kind of the back story, and I'm going to actually share this story when we get a little deeper in the Book of Mormon, there's a huge miracle around it. But they translated the first 116 pages, it was called the Book of Lehi. And when you read the Book of Mormon you'll notice there's not Book of Lehi. Where'd the Book of Lehi go? And Lehi was the father of Nephi. So they translated the first 116 pages and Martin Harris got all excited and begged to be able to show his family so they could justify all the money, time and effort he's spent on this. And Joseph Smith went and asked the Lord, said, ‘Hey can Martin Harris show his family these pages?” and the lord said no. And then Joseph Smith told Martin Harris, Martin Harris was like, “Please.” And they went back and forth and kept fighting and praying and finally the Lord is like, “Fine, go do it.” So he did and he lost the pages. So they were going to start retranslating and the Lord's like, “No, no, no. I told you not to give it to him, you did, you sinned, you are losing the power to translate for a season.” So he took away his ability to even translate for a while, then they started retranslating it and said, “Look, we're not going to re-translate that because if you do, Satan will use that as a tool to get people to not believe in this work. So instead you're going to start on this other book,” that was kind of an afterthought, that was called the Book of Nephi, and again, I'll tell you that story when we get to the Book of Nephi. It's a similar story, but it's written by Nephi, Lehi's son. So the first 116 pages are lost and we'll never, we never have had a chance to see those unfortunately. So that was the first translation, then they started over and it said, “Joseph began translating again on Tuesday, April 7,1829 with Oliver Cowdery as his scribe. The manuscript was completed eighty-five days later, on June 30 of that year.” So 85 days, they translated the entire Book of Mormon. I don't know about you, but it's taken me more than 85 days just to read it, let alone translating it from an ancient language. “Of course, not all of that time was spent working on the translation. The prophet and his scribes all took time to eat, to sleep, to seek employment, to receive the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods, to make at least one and possibly two trips to Colesville, 30 miles away….” Which again, they didn't have cars back then, so 30 miles is like 500 miles now days. “…to receive and record 13 other revelations that are now sections of the Doctrine and Covenants, to move from Harmony to Fayette, to acquire the Book of Mormon copyright, and to begin making arrangement for the publication of the Book of Mormon. Conservatively estimated that left 65 or fewer working days on which the prophet and his scribes translated this book, which contains 531 pages in its current edition.” Alright that's 8 pages per day. “Consider that when you translate a book from another language or as you try to read at your own schedule of the Book of Mormon.” It said, “Oliver Cowdery testified a few days later, ‘these days were never to be forgotten. To sit under the sound of a voice dictated by the inspiration of heaven, awakened with the utmost gratitude of this bosom.” Can you imagine that, sitting there as Joseph Smith is translating this book by the gift and power of God? He said, “Those were days never to be forgotten. To sit under the sound of a voice dictated by the inspiration of heaven.” So cool. It said, “Day after day I continued, uninterrupted to write from his mouth as he translated the history of a record called the Book of Mormon.” He goes on to say, “The details of this miraculous method of translation are still not fully known, yet we do have few precious insights. David Whitmer wrote: ‘Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat, and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light, and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine. A piece of something resembling parchment would appear and on that appeared the writing. One character at a time would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English. Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery, who was his principle scribe, and when it was written down and repeated to Brother Joseph to see if it was correct, then it would disappear and another character with the interpretation would appear. Thus the Book of Mormon was translated by the gift and power of God, and not by any power man.' Can you imagine that, he just got the gold plates, they're in this hat or something, and then he pulls it up so there's not light shining in there and he's got this stone and he looks down and he looks at the character, which is like, imagine ancient reformed Egyptian, right, a little thing. And he puts the seer stone over it, and below the seer stone it's like, “This is what that word or that phrase means.” He would say the word, he'd write it down, and it would disappear and he'd go to the next word. I can't even imagine how cool this is. This is better than if you guys watch those movies like National Treasure or something, where they're trying to decipher the secret message from the founding fathers. This is secret messages from God. This is secret messages from his prophets on ancient America, aren't you curious what he said? I hope you are. Alright, let me come back in here. So Emma Smith, this is Joseph's wife, it says, “Emma Smith, who acted as an earlier scribe for Joseph gave this account in 1856: ‘When my husband was translating the Book of Mormon, I wrote a part of it, as he dictated each sentence, word for word, and when he came to proper names he could not pronounce, or long words he spelled them out, and while I was writing them, if I made any mistake in spelling, he would stop me and correct my spelling, although it was impossible for him to see how I was writing them down at the time. Even the word Sarah he could not pronounce at first, but had to spell it out and Ij would pronounce it for him. ‘When he stopped for any purpose at any time he would, when he commenced again, begin where he left off wiout any hesitation, and one time while he was translating he stopped suddenly, pale as a sheet, and said, ‘Emma, did Jerusalem have walls around it?' when I answered yes he replied, ‘Oh I didn't know, I was afraid I had been deceived.' He had such a limited knowledge of history at that time that he did not even know that Jerusalem was surrounded by walls.” I got chills just sharing that. Can you imagine, he's reading stuff and sharing it and he's discovering it as we're discovering it and we're reading it. He's asking Emma is that actually true? That is so cool. It says, “On another occasion Emma recorded: ‘The plates often lay on the table without any attempt at concealment, wrapped in a small linen tablecloth which I had given him to fold them in. I once felt of the plates as they thus lay on the table, tracing their outline and shape. They seemed to be pliable like thick paper, and would rustle with a metallic sound when the edges were moved by the thumb, as one does sometimes thumb the edges of a book.” “Although the prophet would polish his skills over the years, Emma acknowledged that Joseph possessed only rudimentary literacy at the time he translated the gold plates.” This is coming from his wife, who loves him. I can imagine most husband's spouses are willing to tell the true story about who the person actually is. So this is what Emma said about Joseph's ability to actually do something like this. She said, “Joseph Smith could neither write nor dictate a coherent and well-worded letter, let alone dictating a book like the Book of Mormon. And though I was an active participant in the scenes that transpired, it is marvelous to a me, a marvel and a wonder, as much so as to anyone else.” So his wife is like, there's no way he wrote this book. I love him but he's not that smart. He couldn't even dictate a coherent or well-worded letter. So it's just, it's fascinating. So as you go on here, that kind of gives you kind of a glimpse of what happened as they translated this book. And then the story afterwards, again, I could spend 20 podcasts just pre-setting up the book, but I want to get into the book. But after that they had it translated right, so it was written out and then they had to go and there is a whole story about how they got EB Grandin to actually print this book that I'm holding in my hands right now. They went and had to get it typed so they had to get the money for it. If you look back in the day, they didn't have type writers or printers, they had to get every letter, letter by letter, THE, print it out and stamp ink on it, and they'd stamp that onto a piece of paper and cut the bindings, sew it together. So when I look at this book and I open it up and I look at the ink and how it's so hard to read in some areas and I look at the bindings how they're hand sewn together. I look at the sacrifice that went into this, but not just that. The translation that happened prior to it, and then to get this book and all the people trying to steal the gold plates from him and eventually, the angel took the gold plates back. And then they get the book, get it printed, get it out there, and then they thought, “Man, everyone in the world is going to freak out when they see this. They're going to be so excited. Can you imagine the miracles that happened for us to get this thing.” And they gave it out to the world initially, as you know, the world didn't just runningly accept it. People did, but not everybody. And to this day it's still, Satan fights against it so hard because he doesn't want it to get into people's hands. But as you read the Book of Mormon, in this talk he shares like 30 different amazing things about the Book of Mormon, but there's one that I want to stress because it's the key. I think that the biggest tragedy to me is that Christians who are great Christian people who are scared to read it or don't want to read it, or whatever it might be, and we'll get more into those reasons as we dive into the book, but I want all my Christian brothers and sisters to feel comfortable with this. So this is one thing that President Nelson talked about, he said, “The Book of Mormon reveals that Jesus of Nazareth, born of Mary is literally the son of God. No book of scripture bares more solemnly the weighty burden of that testimony than does the Book of Mormon. It's pages contain nearly 4000 references to Christ using more than 100 different titles for him. His holy name is mentioned on the average of once every 2.8 verses. No wonder this book has been designated another testament of Jesus Christ.” So anyone who's scared like, “This is going to take away from the Bible. Or this is going to take away from Christ.” Or whatever, no. This is another testament of Christ. The whole purpose, the whole focus of this book is to get people to believe in Christ, to get them to turn their heart to Christ. It is the most amazing proof we have that our savior came to this earth, that he died, and he was resurrected again. I promise you that if you read it and you ponder about, and you pray about it, you don't have to take my word for it, you don't have to take anyone's word for it. But if you pray, if you read and you pray about it, our Heavenly Father will tell you it's true. I had an interesting talk yesterday with one of my friends and he said that there was someone who lives by us, who as a young boy became a member of the church and got baptized and then left. He hasn't been back to church for, I don't know 50-60 years. And he was going and he was trying to get him to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and find out what he once knew. So finally the guy said, “I commit, I will read the Book of Mormon and I'll pray about it.” And he's like, “Cool.” So he came back a week later and said, “How'd it go?” and he's like, “Well, I spent 3 hours online researching the Book of Mormon and I didn't feel good.” And he said, “Well of course you didn't. What were you reading about it.” And he kind of told him, and he's like, “you're reading people who hate the church, who hate the Book of Mormon. How do you think you're going to feel.” And he's like, “I didn't feel good about it.” And he said, “How about this, I want you to take a different challenge. This time spend 3 hours actually reading the Book of Mormon and then tell me how you feel.” That's the test. When you read the book you will feel the Lord's spirit, you will feel the Holy Ghost, you will feel the feelings of God because this book is from him. Don't read about the book, that's my one fear of this podcast , you're going to listen to me talk about the book and then you're going to base your judgments based on that. Please don't. My only goal of this podcast is to get you so excited that you go and you open the book and you read it. And if you read it you will feel that, I promise you that. You'll read it and you'll feel it and then pray about it and ask God if it's true. Don't take my word for it, don't take anyone's word for it because that's not the goal. The goal is not to convince you of anything, the goal is for you to read it, to feel it and then to pray and ask God. And then if you do, it'll change your life. I promise you that. It's changed my life, it's changed millions of other people's lives around the world and it'll change yours as well. Alright to end, I want to end actually reading part of, the ending part of this talk from President Nelson and then I want to share my testimony as well. But I thought he did such a good job kind of summing this up. He said, “It is a book that the Lord Jesus Christ has personally testified to be true. In the form of an oath, the Lord said, referring to the Prophet Joseph Smith's work, ‘He has translated the book, even that part which I have commanded him, and as your Lord and your God liveth it is true.' So that was in Doctrine and Covenants section 17 verse 6 where Jesus Christ himself testified that the Book of Mormon is true. He said, “you know well that this promise that the Lord offers to the readers of the Book of Mormon. If you do these last commandments of mine, which I have given you, the gates of hell shall not prevail against you, for my grace is sufficient for you, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. “The Prophet Joseph Smith declared and his successor, President Ezra Taft Benson, has reaffirmed that at the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. It is a treasured testament of truth. It is the prophesied sign that the Lord has commenced to gather Israel and fulfill his covenants. “ So I just want to testify to you, just like the angel did when he told Joseph Smith when he came three times in the night and again the next day, and then every year for the next four years. He said that all of the prophecies from the old testament, all of the things that Isaiah and all these prophets wrote about, that were going to happen in the last days, they're happening. It's happening all around you. And Satan's going to deceive you and try to get you blind to it by keeping you busy and I feel this in my life every single day. There's so many things that are happening. So many things fighting for our time, good things that are fighting for our time, it's hard to keep our eyes open enough to look for the truth. But it's there, it's right in front of our eyes. It's been restored. There was a boy who was humble enough and worthy enough to pray and get Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to come to him. He then, through the gift and power of God was able to go and find these Gold plates, this old record of people who lived here on the ancient American Continent. People who actually had a chance to see Christ and feel the wounds in his hands and his feet and put all those things in their record. He was able to translate them by the gift and the power of God. They weren't translated 10, 50, 100 times by tons of different people. It was translated once. So this book in my hands that I'm holding today is the exact same thing that came, went from the prophets here in ancient America, right into the Gold plates, then from one translation being put here in this book. So when you read this, you know it hasn't been changed, hasn't been manipulated. It is literally the words of God. And what's interesting is that the ancient prophets who wrote this, this book was not for them. They didn't have a chance to see it right. As you read through the book you'll see, they were writing this book, the Lord commanded them and said, you're writing this book. It's not for you, it's for a future people who need to have this book. This book will turn their hearts back to God. So they're like, I'm not writing this for my people, I'm writing it for you, whoever is reading this someday in the future. I'm writing this for you so you'll know what happened to us, so you can protect yourself and you can protect your families. So it was written by ancient American prophets for me and for you, specifically for today. Specifically for us to get through the challenges and the trials and tribulations and all the amazing things that Satan's throwing at us today, this book was written to protect us and to save us and to bring us closer to Christ. He is our savior, he is our messiah, he is our God and he's our king. I testify to you that this book will draw you closer to him than anything else on this planet. And I want you, I pray that you read it and that you feel it. And if you do that, like I said, your life will be changed forever, just like mine has. So I want to share that with you on the end of this episode, and get excited because on the next episode we're going to be diving into 1 Nephi Chapter 1. So if you don't have your Book of Mormon yet, go and get one. If you go to bookofmormonchallenge.com there's a link where you can get a free one. Or you can go to Amazon, I'm sure you can get a free one on Amazon. Just get a copy of it because I want you to start reading this together with me, otherwise what's the point of all this work I'm putting into it, right? So we're going to go to 1 Nephi chapter 1. This is the way that the game is going to be played. I'm going to tell you about 1 Nephi Chapter 1. I'm going to get you so excited, so fired up, and so pumped to read it and then I'm going stop and I'm going to leave you hanging and that's going to drive you to go and actually read it. And that's how this podcast is going to go moving forward. I'm going to get you excited about what's happening, what to look for, the magic, the secret messages, all the amazing things that the Lord has weaved into these verses that if you're not careful you're going to miss it. I'm going to set those things up so you can look for them and you can find them so when you read them you'll have these amazing spiritual moments where you'll be reading something and it'll hit you. And for everyone it's going to be different. Everyone's at different times and points in your lives. And some things you'll read and it won't make sense, and some things you'll read and you won't be ready for it. But some things you'll read and you'll sit there and be like, how in the world did this prophet, and it could be Alma or Nephi or Leman, not Leman, Helamin or Moroni, how did they know? How did they know that I would be struggling with that today? They literally, they must have put that chapter in for me. They must have put that verse. That phrase must have been for me. They saw our day and they must have known that was for me. You're going to have those experiences and it'll be the most amazing, spiritual, coolest things, when those things happen. It doesn't happen all the time, but I promise you that if you will read this book with me, and dive in there and study it, and you'll be looking for those things, and you're praying for answers to your prayers, as you read them, you'll find that these prophets hid things in here specifically for you, things that you may have read in the past, or other people read and it didn't touch them, but when you read it, it will hit you differently than it has hit anybody else in the history of time. And you'll know that scripture was specifically written for you. And that's what's so magical about this book. I hope that you take me up on the challenge and you dive in and you read it and you enjoy it. With that said, I will end this episode of the podcast. Thank you so much for listening and for participating. I will see you guys on the next episode when we jump into 1 Nephi Chapter 1.

Mortgage interest rates are one of the hottest topics with homebuyers right now. Many buyers are currently wondering whether they should wait for interest rates to go back down, but they are only expected to go up. The Federal Reserve has already increased rates and signaled that there are more increases to come. The days of 3% interest rates are gone right now, but the good news is that rates are still at historic lows at about 4% currently. Here’s an example of why it’s smart to buy now and lock in a low rate rather than waiting six months or a year. For a $250,000 house under current rates, your principal and interest payments would be about $1,189 a month. Conservatively estimating that the house will appreciate 5%, waiting a year would mean the same house would cost about $262,500. If interest rates went up 0.5% this year as expected, the same house would cost you an additional $136 a month. “Both values and interest rates could tick up if you wait to buy a home.” If you’re selling your house, remember that as rates tick up, the buyer pool for your home shrinks since fewer people will qualify for your home at an increased price. If a buyer’s income doesn’t go up, they might be priced out of that house. Buying a home sooner also means you will start building equity sooner in addition to getting it cheaper. There’s really no reason to wait and watch interest rates and home values continue to go up. I am SO excited to bring you this show today! We are going to talk about the ONE strategy that has impacted my sales the most this year! I'm super passionate about this topic. Honestly, I try to talk about this strategy with business owners everywhere I go. I constantly want to convince more people to use this strategy because the difference it has made for me is seriously crazy-cakes. Do you have a guess as to what it could be? Knowing me, you might think this strategy is Facebook ads, but it's not! I love this strategy because it's approachable and affordable for business owners. Facebook ads are how I get customers in the door, but this strategy is how I build relationships and sell the things I want to sell. The strategy is hosting webinars. I know you've probably heard a lot of online business owners talk about webinars over the years, and maybe you already have decided opinions about them. If you're rolling your eyes at this point and thinking, "Webinars aren't for me. Business mom out," I need you to give me a few more minutes -- and I am pretty sure I'll change your mind. :) Listen To The Show The Numbers Speak For Themselves (3:26) If you'll give me the chance, I'm going to talk about the 6 big webinar myths I hear all the time. I'm going to debunk them, and teach you the truth about making webinars work for your business. I have crazy-cool stats to share with you that speak for themselves. This past year, Brilliant Business Moms has grown an insane amount. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it! Chris and I finally sat down and did the books, like responsible business owners, and figured out where our sales were coming from. We've had $285,000 in revenue (sales in the business). $201,000 of that was from sales of my online courses. So, the courses I sell are: Brilliant Pin Promotion FB Brilliance A brand new course coming soon! The other $84,000 revenue was planner sales, primarily. And keep in mind planner season flows into 2017. So we had an awesome season, but only part of the tally accounts for 2016. Other revenue was made through some shop sales and affiliate sales. (Hint, hint... guess how I make my affiliate sales? Webinars!) Over 2/3 of my income came from course sales. And literally the main way, about 90%, of my course sales have been through webinars. People come to a free class that I hold around a given topic, they get to know me and trust me, and they get value out of that free class, whether they purchase anything or not. And then a good portion of those attendees decide they're ready to take it to the next level. They think, "If this is her free class, I know her course will be awesome!" Webinars for Physical Products (6:23) And I have to tell you, I was very close to doing a webinar to sell my physical planners. So if you're a business that sells physical products, please don't turn this episode off! I have a lot of thoughts and ideas for you. (In fact, that'll be one of the myths we debunk!) This strategy 100% applies to you. I was really close to doing a webinar to sell my planners. But to be honest, it takes a couple weeks to create a really great webinar, and the planners were selling more quickly than I anticipated. I was nervous that by the time I got my webinar together, half of the planners would be gone. The main reason I didn't do a webinar to sell planners is because the Brilliant Life Planners sold too fast. (A good problem, but still a problem!) For our next planner season, I'll get the planners to my doorstep much sooner and will absolutely make webinars part of my selling strategy. Proving Webinars Are Powerful (8:49) I want to share a few stats to prove to you that webinars are crazy powerful. One of the ways I filled my webinars with happy students was with Facebook ads. We're talking about getting people to attend my free class; and my goal was 2,000 signups. Keep in mind I'm only running these ads to cold traffic. These are 2,000 brand new people through the door who knew nothing about me before seeing a Facebook or Instagram ad. On average, I'd spend about $4,000 on advertising on average to get the 2,000 people. And I'd make about $8,000 in sales, so the profit margin is 50%. You more experienced business owners may be looking at that 50% profit margin and thinking it's way too low. And I get it. It's not awesome per industry standards, but I was mostly excited about getting to know a new audience. I spent $4,000 to get 2,000 new email signups, and I made $4,000 profit. I felt really good about that! On average, that's 63 course sign-ups out of those 2,000 webinar sign-ups. With these numbers I'm getting about a 3% conversion rate. People who are insanely good at webinars and have it down to a science can get way higher than 3%, but I felt amazing with these numbers! Because guess what? Those sales were to people who didn't know me before that webinar! One stat you'll see floating around online marketing looks something like this: Let's say you've built an email list and worked hard to have a relationship with that list. The best practice is to nurture the list over time, and then send out a ton of messages pitching your product. Conservatively, you should estimate a 2% conversion rate from those efforts to people who already know you. But I hung out with total strangers on my webinar and got a 3% conversion rate. That blows my mind! The first time I launched my FB Brilliance course, in July, I brought in 125 course sales from about 3,000 webinar signups, and those were from my email list of about 20-25K people. It was a pretty straightforward process: I emailed my list a few times, and about 3,000 people took me up on my offer. I only pitched my course and bonuses to the people who signed up to my webinar. I probably should have pitched it to my whole list, which I should have! I didn't go through all the motions of building anticipation and hint, or make tons of calls-to-action. I just said, "Let's do this!" and got the webinar out the door. And I had a 4% conversion rate! I'd prefer to do this method than bug my list like crazy for only a 2% conversion rate! Webinar sales always blow my email sales out of the water. It's just more effective. Here's one more non-webinar example. My current list has 50,000 subscribers. Only 1,600 of them purchased a planner, and a lot of these people are brand new. Many of those 1,600 weren't already on my list, but I didn't do a webinar on time management or goal setting. That conversion rate is 3%. It's better than the standard 2% conversion rate. But it also happened over a couple of months. It happened with loads of social media posts and emailing. Lots of buildup and time and content to get that 3% conversion rate from my list. Whereas, I probably could have just created an awesome webinar around goal setting and time management and had a much higher than average conversion rate. Are you excited for the potential of webinars!? I really hope that you are. Webinars are fabulous because not only will you get to show off your personality and knowledge - and get to know your audience - but also your audience becomes your friends. It's so much fun that your attendees want to walk away from the class to take action. Alright, let's get started debunking 6 Webinar Myths, plus I'll give you the Truth About Making Them Work For Your Business Myth #1: I need to be great at public speaking. (17:33) It happens all the time. When I start talking about how great webinars are, people panic! People (usually introverts) think that in order to put on a great webinar they have to be fabulous at public speaking - not true! First of all, I am not great at public speaking. Yeah, I'm a Chatty Cathy, but I'm not great at public speaking. I'm a rambler, you guys! That's just as bad as the person who doesn't have enough to say! I have so much work to do when it comes to upping my public speaking game. In terms of my experience, how many times have I been on a stage speaking to a large group of people? Maybe twice. The only time I can think back on is when I was part of a mission program with my college. I spent a couple months volunteering at an orphanage in India with a mission project. And when I came back I had to speak at a chapel service about my experience. It was supposed to be an inspirational 20 minute talk, explaining what we did and inspirational insights from the Bible. At the time, I was at the time a molecular biology major. I had no background to be inspiring! So that's one public speaking experience. Recently I did a breakout session at the Business Boutique conference in Nashville. This was in front of maybe 35-45 people. To be honest, I find that setting WAY more intimidating than a webinar, or my chapel experience, because of the close proximity. By biggest fear is that I'm going to accidentally spit on someone in the front row! But keep in mind, this Business Boutique event didn't even happen until after I fell in love with doing webinars! I am not a public speaking expert, and I haven't taken a single class on public speaking. Think about recording a podcast, it's a totally different environment. We have editors to make us sound way better than we really do, when I was recording with my sister we had each other, and we had another person doing most of the talking! Podcast recording is not really public speaking. Here's what I would say if you think you need to be great at public speaking, or have a natural speaking talent: practice is what makes you great at webinars. That's been my experience and it's what others say, too. The cool thing about a webinar is that you're the boss! You decide what you want to talk about. You create your slides, which remind you of what you want to say. And you get to practice as many times as you want. As you practice the flow will become increasingly natural. Even though I recommend you show your face in the webinar, you aren't looking out on a crowd of faces! It takes away the intimidation factor. And if you need to, you can hide behind a slide and not show your sweaty pits or wardrobe malfunction. Webinars are actually the perfect way for an introvert or a shy person to share their skills and knowledge. I know you'll get amazing at doing webinars if you just practice crafting the right kind of presentation. Now that I've done tons of webinars, an in-person event or a mixer is way scarier than a webinar! Myth #2: I have to sell an online course to make a webinar work. (24:50) I hear this myth all the time! Of course webinars are great for selling courses. I've done it, and I know lots of online business owners who are selling courses through webinars. But here's the thing. I think you'll stand out even more and be really surprised at your results if you use webinars to sell whatever it is you already sell online. Whether you sell ebooks, physical books, homemade baby goods, whatever the case is, I think that you can make a webinar work for you and your business. I've seen webinars work well for book launches. You could teach a topic related to your book, do an author Q&A, and maybe offer a juicy incentive like a book giveaway every 15 minuets for all live attendees. Sarah and I used webinars to launch our very first planner. We talked about how to balance a business and family during the presentation, and at the end of the webinar we had a special coupon code for our brand new planner. We only had a few thousand Facebook fans, less than 5,000k, and our email list was maybe 1,200 people. We had about 100-200 people sign up for each webinar (one in the morning and one in the evening). Only 20-30 people showed up live; our live attendees had so much fun, gave thoughtful and encouraging comments, and about 10 people from each webinar purchased a planner! That's a great conversion rate, about 50%. (How would it feel if you made 20 new sales a day? It's pretty exciting!) Another benefit of the live webinar is that we could answer questions. I'm thinking of so many products that I would love to get help answering my questions about them before I purchase. For example, I would love to know how to do a baby wrap. I just bought one, and I have no idea what to do with this thing! I feel like I need to practice 100 times with a baby doll so I don't drop my real baby! What if a baby wrap business offered a free class on wearing your baby and getting life done? If I saw an ad for a class like that, I would sign up for sure. And would be a super loyal customer, because they took the time to teach me how to use their product. If you sell a physical product, think about the help and value you can add by doing a webinar. I've got a few examples to get your wheels turning :) Julie Fuller of Tokyo Blossom Boutique has a fun shop and sells awesome, adorable planner accessories. Julie is super creative and has gorgeous handwriting. She decorates her planners and totally blings it out! Her planner pages look really pretty and classy. Julie is going to create a course on planner decorating. She could do a webinar showing 5 quick ways to make your planner beautiful and functional, and it'll lead right into her course! Even if her course isn't ready right away, who am I going to buy planner accessories from? Julie, because she is going the extra mile and rocked my socks off in her webinar! (And by the way I'm totally giving my biz friends assignments right now! LOL) Melissa Kaiserman of A Time for Everything sells cash envelopes systems for people on the Dave Ramsey plan, or other cash budget systems. Now, Melissa already does awesome and her sales are fantastic. But what if she did a budgeting webinar? Or a webinar on how to set up a cash budget that will work for you and your family? I think the webinar sales would blow her away! What about you? How can you use a webinar for your product in a way that makes you insanely helpful? When your customers get to know you and form a relationship with you, it would be really tough for them to switch and go to someone else. And even if they found a product they wanted from someone else, you'd likely get their feedback to improve your product! Myth #3: You need to have expensive tools and programs to run a webinar. (34:16) (And yes we're just at Myth #3. I told you I'm not a skilled public speaker. I'm a rambler!) I'm sure you've been to webinars where hosts are using Webinar Jam or Go To Webinar. If you Googled these tools, you know they are expensive. Plus, the more people you have, the more expensive they get! News flash: you don't need those expensive tools to run a webinar. Here are the tools I use to record my webinars: A Yeti microphone, which you can get for around $100. (You can also get a Snowflake microphone for around $35.) My computer. (Obviously! Hopefully you already own one, but if not you can get a decent laptop for a couple hundred dollars these days.) You Tube Live Events, using your YouTube Business account. (Which is basically like the new Google Hangouts. It's free!) Leadpages for my webinar landing page. (This is a paid service, but you can easily make a page on your own site.) Chatango for my chat option. (Which I embed on my Leadpages webinar page, and could easily be embedded on any webinar page. Also free!) Google Slides for my presentation. (This is part of your free Google Drive tools. Can you believe it!?) ConvertKit, which is my email service provider, because you want to collect signups. (An email service provider could be your biggest expense. MailChimp is free for the first 2,000 subscribers. Sarah and I used MailChimp for our first webinars!) I did choose to invest in video lights for night webinars, but you don't have to do that. If lighting is a concern, just make sure to host your webinars during the day to use natural light. That's really all you need! If you're really on a barebones budget, just grab the basics: a microphone, Mailchimp, and your website to embed your video and a free chat box--and you're good to go! To me, I feel like there's more room for things to crash with fancy systems. I've been to a lot of webinars where things go crazy. It seems that the more tech you have, the more you can get bogged down. Google Hangouts has only failed me one time in a couple years. Bottom line: hosting your own webinar is really affordable if you need it to be! Myth #4: You have to be great at selling and marketing. (39:57) A lot of people think they need to have that obnoxious salesman personality in order to make the webinar work. Maybe you're sitting in your chair right now thinking, "The thought of selling to people live freaks me out! I can't do it!" Take a deep breath. Because I DO recommend you offer something for sale at the end of your webinar! But I DO NOT want you to be sleazy or salesy! First and foremost, whether or not people buy from you, people should walk away able to take action and have a quick win. You want to focus on fabulous content and solid teaching. And what you can do in a webinar that you can't really do without video is to show off your personality! You get to be you in all your glory. Part of the fun is people seeing your mistakes, and that you have a sense of humor and can handle the mess. If you're afraid that your personality stinks, or you have quirks, know that there are people out there who jive with it. And guess what? They think your quirks are the most amazing thing about you! Here's an example: We've established that I'm super chatty and wordy and ramble on and on. I always get people who comment in webinars, "She talks too much." But I ALSO get people who say, "I love that you want to explain things in detail, it feels real that you're real." If they don't love you, they aren't your ideal audience. How do you make friends in real life? You make friends by hanging out with people, and having a real conversation. It's hard to have a relationship just off of letters, emails, or Facebook posts. The most genuine relationships happen when a real life conversation is happening. Webinars are the next best thing to a face-to-face conversation with people from all over the world. The other thing I want to say about selling is that there are formulas, or specific steps, you can take your customers through that really feel seamless and natural and lead to a sale. You get to be you--talking in your normal, non-salesy voice--and you'll get way better at it and more comfortable the more you do it. You're approaching this sale from a place where you just taught people tons of awesome stuff, and you want to help them take their business to next level. You're excited to share your product with them, and have confidence that your product will positively change their life. Myth #5: You need to have a huge audience. (46:53) I hear this a lot from business owners, "I'm not ready for a webinar because I don't have the budget to spend on Facebook ads. My audience is just too tiny. I'm nervous if I offer a webinar, it will be me and one other person." For my first webinars with Sarah, we had a small group but we had a great time I promise even if only 5 people show up, you'll have a great time! You'll get amazing practice, plus you can take the replay and use it in other situations. You could send your replay to your list, or a as a thank you to new customers or email subscribers. It's not a waste even if no one shows up, because you can use that recording in other ways. The other thing is that webinars are a great way to build your audience. The more webinars I've done, I always get new attendees who say, "My friend told me I just had to attend your class." I get emails and Facebook posts all the time from people asking for the next class! People will tell their friends about your fabulous webinar. Promise! Another thing I share about webinars I am hosting is how fun it is to hang out with like-minded people live. I love all the chatting between business moms, and when they start to collaborate with someone they've just met. It's fun to know that in this often lonely online world you can meet up with people real time. That's the incentive for signing up to a webinar. Customers don't get to connect or communicate with you when they grab your checklist or cheatsheet. Webinars are an inincredibly powerful form of communication! Myth #6: Webinars are over done, and just a trend. (53:20) Some people think webinars are just a fad. "As soon as I jump on the webinar train, webinars will be overdone and old news." Not true! I completely acknowledge that the format webinars are given in, the structure, the tools used to put them on, may change over the next decade. Sure. Absolutely. But building relationships with your customers on video? That's not going away, you guys. You see it all over. There's Facebook Live, Instagram Stories and Instagram Live, Snapchat, and YouTube - which feels like it's been around forever - aren't going anywhere. Selling and building relationships with your customers via video isn't going away. When you dig into webinars you'll realize that you're building skills you can take with you for the long haul. I think one of the reasons I'm really comfortable to hop on Facebook Live at any given point in the day is because I do webinars all the time. It becomes second nature. While we're on the subject, you could technically do a webinar just using Facebook Live. At this point it would be tricky to have a clean, polished slide presentation. But something like a baby wearing demo, craft project, Q&A, or a product launch would be great! Just set up your phone with the right kind of mounts and do the webinar right there. You could be commenting in the chat, giving people links, and telling them where to go to find your product. A webinar is simply using video to provide awesome value and sell a product. That's not going away. There are more and more people in this online marketing space using webinars to sell. You may notice your feeds are inundated with offers for free classes and lessons. But there are so many niches out there where hardly anyone is doing webinars! (Maybe yours is one of them!) Plus, I don't care who's doing what! I'm confident my webinar is way better than anyone else's. So I'll keep putting them out there, giving a lot of great value, and people will tell their friends. People who are in other niches outside of the online marketing space have a great advantage. I don't know about you, but I have loads of friends on Facebook who are body coaches. Let's say after giving myself time after this baby comes, I want to get back in shape. Maybe I want to try a beach body program and get into one a challenge group. Well, I've got 15 friends who are all selling beach body programs. How do I decide which friend I pick? (Hint, hint: There are 1,000s of others in your niche selling something similar as you! How will you set yourself apart?) I'm going to pick the friend who seems most passionate about her product and who walks the walk. I'm going to choose the one with the most knowledge and expertise, and not just fluffy duffy tips. And honestly at the top of my list is the friend I relate to the most, and I really like the most - because that's the person I'm going to have a great working relationship with. You've got to be the person in your space with the most knowledge and the most passion, who walks the walk, and who people really like. But that's a lot to live up to, right? It's a lot to cover in word format--social media posts and blog posts. Webinars are a one-stop-shop, you can accomplish all of this in an hour, and have people who all the sudden know you and like you and think you're the real deal. 5 Days to Craft Your Brilliant Webinar (1:05:50) There it is. On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman once again spoke with lifelong martial artist, former UFC and Battlecade Extreme Fighting matchmaker, TV commentator, and our senior correspondent, John Perretti. Our focus was the untimely passing of the two-time NCAA wrestling champion and former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman, who passed away February 11 at the age of 44. John Perretti was the UFC matchmaker for most of his fights there and during his title reign. We spoke with John Perretti Tuesday Japan time (Monday New York time). It is important to examine what we know and what lessons can be drawn from this sad event so we can try to avoid future such tragedies. While we mourn Kevin Randleman's death and celebrate his life, we also must try to get to the truth. But the details of his passing, and exactly how and why it happened now, are still not completely known. News reports about it have been vague, without clear sources, and even contradictory. But we do know how he lived, and the dangers that posed for him. "He was a specimen, but he would have been on my top ten list of guys to go early," John Perretti said. "He burned twice as bright, so to speak. "Also, I don't know what he was doing as of late, but guys of that kind of physicality have a short half-life. And I'm not sure where he was mentally, and I can't speculate on that. I know how difficult it can be to age, although he was only 44." But, he added, when he heard the news of his sudden passing, "I wasn't at all shocked." We discussed the many health problems Kevin Randleman faced, including battles against staph infections, as well as being suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission in 2007 for providing a fake urine sample for a drug test. For many years in MMA, John Perretti said, use of performance-enhancing and other drugs was rampant. "Conservatively, 85 percent of all fighters during my time period and prior were on drugs," he said. "Not just fooling around drugs, but performance-enhancement drugs. And I know a lot of the dealers who dealt, who were also fighters, personally. So I know the list, and I know from personal exposure, that, I would say that 50 percent of the guys that I dealt with, I've seen them using performance-enhancement drugs. This was a situation that was normal, and this was a situation that was prevalent." While we still need more information as to why Kevin Randleman passed, we were able to discuss more generally the issue of safety in MMA. From the birth of modern MMA in North America in the 1990s, many people argued for the sport's legalization and recognition as being legitimate by saying that it was safer than established sports including boxing and even American football, and thus should also be legalized. That was true in those days, said John Perretti, but today it is "not so," and we discussed why. Still, what role these factors played in the death of Kevin Randleman, if any, is not yet known. We also discussed some highlights of Kevin Randleman's career including his excellence in college wrestling and controversial loss to Bas Rutten in UFC, the growing awareness of the perils of head trauma and concussions in sports, and much, much more. HIGH-YIELDING RENTALS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA! It’s the HOLY GRAIL… the pixie dust… the flawless diamond of cash-flow investing: To own rental property with a STRONG cash flow in a SUPER-HOT MARKET that you can buy at a FAIR PRICE. My friends… I’ve got it for you, right now, in the HOTTEST of hot markets in America. I’m Bryan Ellis. This is episode 166.-----Hello SDI Nation! Welcome to the Podcast of Record for savvy self-directed investors like you.It was a great weekend this past weekend in Sacramento where I had the pleasure of meeting with investors in the SDI Private Equity fund. That’s a great group of people and the real estate opportunities we have those folks involved in are… well… shall I say… QUITE IMPRESSIVE? HeheheheIt was such a pleasure to meet all of our new clients along with many of you guys who are involved in other projects with us and chose to move forward on our Northern California investment adventures as well. These are exciting times, folks! And I’d like to say to Karim – your next excursion to Walgreen’s is on me, man. Carole and I are still just LOVING that your secret passion is visiting big-chain drug stores! But we’re very happy to have you as a part of the SDI Private Equity family… and same for all of your who are part of our crew!Speaking of Northern California a moment ago… did you know that’s the hottest real estate region in the entire country… maybe the entire world? The latest list of hot markets from Realtor.com shows Northern California as being home to 9 of the 20 hottest individual markets in America. It’s just astounding. What makes for a hot market? Well, it’s things like… rapid price appreciation, short supply, and bidding wars. I recently saw that there’s only 1.5 months of housing supply in San Francisco. That’s CRAZY – a normal supply level is 6 months, so San Francisco is INCREDIBLY low on inventory, as is the Bay Area and Silicon Valley as a whole. But it’s not just those vaunted areas… Northern California as a whole is experiencing some astounding things… and frankly, it’s all driven by tech companies and venture capital flowing into the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. And that, my friends, is where today’s astounding opportunity comes from.So here’s the deal:The SDI team has identified a source for CASH FLOWING RENTAL PROPERTY that can be bought very affordably… and it’s right in the heart of Northern California… commuting distance from Sacramento, Napa, Modesto and yes… even with commuting distance of the outskirts of the Bay Area.So here’s are 3 quick examples that will make you DROOL:Example 1 is a single family property. Worth $100,000 CONSERVATIVELY… and frankly… I don’t believe that valuation. I think it’s much, much, much higher. Anyway, worth $100,000 – you can buy it for $90,000 – renovated and fully rent-ready. Rent on this one is $800 per month… you’ll likely be NETTING over 7% just from cash flow on this one.Example 2 is a duplex. You’ll collect $1,000 from each unit. That’s $24,000 per year gross. This property is EASILY worth $200,000. You’ll pay $180,000 for it… you could realistically net as much as 10% per year on this one from CASH FLOW alone. But remember – this is in a highly appreciating area. More on that in just a minute.Final example #3 is a triplex. You’ll collect $2,100 per month from this property, and it’s easily worth $230,000. You’ll pay only $200,000… and again, could net nearly 10% per year from cash flow alone.Folks, those are great numbers no matter where your property is located… but as you know, there’s a dichotomy that exists where single-family rental property is concerned: There are deals that offer good cash flow, and then there are deals that offer solid appreciation potential. It’s rare – almost unheard of – to get access to deals that offer both. This is just such a circumstance, my friends. You see, Zillow tells us that this area of Northern California appreciated at 12% in the past year… and they’re projecting another 19% appreciation in the coming year.My friends… getting 7-10% net per year from cash flow… that ALONE makes a deal a very attractive deal. And buying in an area with double-digit appreciation… that ALONE makes a deal a very attractive deal.Put them together and what do you have?Something that’s rare… a needle in a haystack. And these deals truly are that rare. How rare? Well… in October of this year, there were more than 5 million homes sold in America. But deals like this… well… we can only supply about 5 per month. Sometimes, not even that many.Yep, it’s a tiny supply. But the potential here is AMAZING… and I’ve got the data to back it up.So how does that sound to YOU, my friends? If you’re in the market for some EXCELLENT cash flow property with high yields, in-place property management and paying tenants, then your time is now.Check out SDIRadio.com/nccashflow. Again, that’s SDIRadio.com/nccashflow as in northern California cash flow. Some of these deals are at the $100,000 – most will be in the mid $100’s to low $200’s… and every one of them located in the hottest housing market in the entire country.Yes, we do have a very special source for these properties. These certainly aren’t listed for sale on MLS, folks. The only way you can get on the waiting list is to go RIGHT NOW to SDIRadio.com/nccashflow.My friends… it’s great to be back with you. I’ll see you again tomorrow, and until then:Invest wisely today… and live well forever! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Could morphology and growth predict rupture? Despite several landmark studies, the natural history of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA) remains uncertain. Rob Tarr talks to William Mehan, Division of Neuroradiology, Massachusetts General Hospital, about his paper which aimed to identify or confirm factors predictive of rupture of UIA being observed conservatively with serial CT angiography in a North American patient population. Colin Marshall sits down at Portland State University with Carl Abbott, professor there of urban studies and planning and author of Portland in Three Centuries: The Place and the People. They discuss the debate over Portland's status as a "small city" or a "big town"; the distinctive ease of making connections in the city; how modern-day Portland enthusiasts would look at the place before 1965 and see Akron, Ohio; the oft-made comparisons between Portland, Seattle, and Austin; the history and continued presence of agriculture and industry around the "cool Portland" of today; Microsoft and Boeing, the "accidental" companies that made Seattle the younger sibling that out-competed Portland, one with better booms but worse busts; Portland's "conservatively progressive" politics, and how that sensibility shows up in its light rail system and central library (especially as compared to Seattle's); the relationship between the city's vaunted "livability" and its patterns of diversity; how he came to Portland and when, exactly, the city turned away from its former stodginess (and when its porno theaters started turning into revival houses); Portland entrepreneurship, which Portlanders prefer to call "D.I.Y."; how best to engage new immigrants and hip youngsters in "Portlandism," a civic-minded, participatory approach to incremental problem-solving; science fiction's visions of cities, which present recurring patterns related to urban theory; and whether Portland counts as a utopian project, if a practical one.
Tonight's SPECIAL TOPIC is "Ask not what the children can someday do for you .. ask what you can do for the children .. NOW!!" The air-waves have been occupied recently by story after story concerning the events at Penn State University, but the emphasis has been on a single high-powered sports program, driven by the personal experience of alumni and fans. Imagine if we can use the horror of these still-unfolding stories to highlight the need to prepare all our kids, from every walk of life, with the information, knowledge and tools they'll need, when at least 20% of them will be sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday. Conservatively speaking, at least 60 million adult Americans have suffered physical violence and / or been sexual traumatized in their youth. ~~ Please see our web site at: www.NAASCA.org
Part 1 of 4 of our introduction to bible prophecy. We look at the nature that is often overlooked in Church today. It is the study of prophecy. Christ Jesus fulfilled over 300 specific prophecies concerning His first coming. There are many, many more concerning events that surround His second coming. Conservatively speaking over 30% of the bible is dedicated to prophecy. Much of it is already history, but much of it is yet to be. We see here in session one the overview and importance of bible prophecy. Only the bible can claim truly 100% active. God declares in Isaiah ch's. 40-49 that He alone knows the beginning from the end. It is one of God's attributes. God jealously guards His prophetic word. Consider that the book or Revelation has 404 verses with over 800 illusions to the Old Testament. Key's to unlocking prophecy are found in the types, shadows, and culture of the Jewish people. An exciting study for those wanting to learn an overview of bible prophecy. It will bless and encourage you.

God's revelation of His plan of redemption is a progressive revelation to man. We see the battle for truth with God sending us messages that are encrypted in prophetic types, parables, word studies, feasts described as shadows of things to come. We see the enemies stratagems. We see here is one of the greatest keys to where we are in God's program is the birth of the nation of Israel.
