What's REALLY Going On Behind the Scenes of the CIA, the Media, and the U.S. Government? On Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, former CIA agents and intelligence officers Andrew & Jihi Bustamante (creators of the EverydaySpy podcast, authors of Shadow Cell: An Insider Account of America's New Spy War & popular guests on Diary of a CEO & The Joe Rogan Experience) pull back the curtain in this explosive, no-holds-barred conversation. From the moment you marry a spy (can you ever truly trust your partner?) to the shocking 4 categories of lies the CIA teaches—Mayim & Jonathan dive deep into the secretive world of espionage, national security, and the collapse of trust in modern institutions. Andrew and Jihi break down the shrinking middle class caused by American politics post-Trump, what it means for our future, whether the U.S. is moving closer to dictatorship (and if so, can we stop it?), and why the wealthy elite are leaving the U.S. (and which countries they're fleeing to). These whistleblowers expose what the CIA doesn't want you to know: - The 4 categories of lies every CIA officer is trained to tell - The agency's current use of psychics and Cold War-era remote viewing programs - The loneliness and psychological toll of living a covert life - How the news & media is manipulated—and why even ā€œtrustedā€ outlets are failing us - Post-Trump politics: is the U.S. sliding toward dictatorship or already in it? - Why wealthy elites are fleeing America (and where they're going) - The global fallout if a U.S. president is jailed, and what it means for our standing - The CIA's take on Israel, rising global conflicts, and the risk of world war - How AI is dehumanizing warfare and reshaping the battlefield - Why Epstein's case continues to expose cracks in our institutions Andrew and Jihi also reveal how influence, persuasion, and dialogue can still be used productively—even in a fractured society. From Venezuela's collapse as a warning sign to the everyday challenge of separating real news from propaganda, this is more than an interview—it's a wake-up call. It's Wednesday, September 17th, A.D. 2025. This isĀ The Worldview in 5 MinutesĀ heard on 140 radio stations and atĀ www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslims in Congo killed 26 Christians at funeral Islamic extremistsĀ killed 26 ChristiansĀ who were attending a funeral last Monday in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These attacks continued for two more days. Rev. Mbula Samaki told Open Doors, ā€œThe casualty as of now stands at more than 70 Christians killed, at least 100 kidnapped, 16 houses, eight motorbikes and two vehicles burnt. It is horrible.ā€ Islamic extremists are continuing toĀ target churchesĀ in the Christian-majority country to displace Christian communities. Ā  Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in Congo. The central African nation isĀ ranked 35thĀ on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.Ā  Canadian court affirms Christian soldier who refused COVID shot In Canada, a federal labor boardĀ ruled in favorĀ of a Christian military member who refused a COVID-19 shot on religious grounds.Ā  Canada's Department of National Defense denied Marvin Castillo a religious exemption from the COVID shot. He was subsequently fired from his job in 2021.Ā  In a landmark decision, Canada's Public Sector Labor Relations and Employment Board ruled against the Department of National Defense. The decision stated, ā€œ[Castillo] was entitled to an exemption because he has a sincere religious belief that he should not receive the vaccine.ā€Ā  Castillo referenced 1 Corinthians 6:19 to defend the decision he made about what to put into his body. The verse says, ā€œOr do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?ā€ Trump targets another Venezuelan narco-terrorist boat The United States militaryĀ targeted another drug boatĀ from Venezuela on Monday. The strike killed three people on board the vessel. On Truth Social, President Donald TrumpĀ wrote, ā€œThe Strike occurred while these confirmed narco-terrorists from Venezuela were in International Waters transporting illegal narcotics headed to the U.S. (A DEADLY WEAPON POISONING AMERICANS!) These extremely violent drug trafficking cartels POSE A THREAT to U.S. National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital U.S. Interests.ā€ The United States carried out a similar strike on a boat carrying drugs from Venezuela two weeks ago. Court greenlights Trump defunding Planned Parenthood Last Thursday, aĀ federal appeals court ruledĀ that the Trump administration can defund Planned Parenthood. The case involves a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act which barred Medicaid funds from going to abortion mills. A district court blocked the provision back in July. The latest ruling overturns that preliminary injunction. Ā  Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue,Ā commented, ā€œPlanned Parenthood is quickly running out of friends in high and dark places, and we praise God for it. Over 40 Planned Parenthoods have already closed – we expect that number to grow over the coming weeks, and we'll celebrate every one.ā€ Gen Z men support Trump; Gen Z women supported Kamala NBC News released aĀ new pollĀ on U.S. adults ages 18 to 29. The survey found Gen Z men who voted for President Trump said having children was the most important indicator of success. Being married was also a top indictor. Meanwhile, Gen Z women who voted for Kamala Harris listed being married and having children near the bottom of their indicators of success. Instead, career fulfillment and having plenty of money were the most important. Young men who backed Harris and young women who backed President Trump similarly prioritized money and career over children and family. Kirk's killer: ā€œI had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it.ā€Ā  Officials in Utah chargedĀ Tyler Robinson with aggravated murder yesterday. The 22-year-old is accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk while he was speaking with students at Utah Valley University last Wednesday. Authorities said Robinson left DNA on the trigger of the rifle used to fire the deadly shot. He also left a note for his transgender partner hidden under a keyboard that said, ā€œI had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it.ā€Ā  Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray announced the charges. He said, ā€œThe murder of Charlie Kirk is an American tragedy.ā€ After listing the charges against Robinson, Gray added this.f GRAY: ā€œI am filing a notice of intent to seek the death penalty.ā€ Waves of people returned to church after Charlie Kirk's assassination And finally,Ā Faithwire reportsĀ waves of people returned to church over the weekend after the death of Charlie Kirk. Kirk was an outspoken Christian. He told Deseret News earlier this year that his goal was to point people ā€œtoward ultimate purposes and toward getting back to the church, getting back to faith.ā€ Hundreds of people posted about their return to church over the weekend after being inspired by Kirk's faith.Ā ListenĀ to the testimony of one young mother of three about the decision that she and her husband made. YOUNG MOTHER: ā€œAfter the events of the last week, Devin and I had a lot of talking about the type of life that we want for ourselves and how we want our boys to be. We talked about Charlie Kirk. We talked about a man of God who was not afraid to stand in his convictions in anything. ā€œWe are raising three boys that will one day be men, and we want those boys to be as strong in their convictions as Charlie Kirk was. And we realized we had been doing a great disservice by not taking them to church and introducing them to faith up until this point. It is because of Charlie Kirk that we went to church today.ā€ Isaiah 55:6-7 says, ā€œSeek the LORD while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him. Let them turn to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.ā€ Close And that'sĀ The WorldviewĀ on this Wednesday, September 17th, in the year of our Lord 2025.Ā Follow us on XĀ or subscribe for free byĀ Spotify,Ā Amazon Music, or byĀ iTunes or emailĀ to our unique Christian newscast atĀ www.TheWorldview.com.Ā  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). In this episode of Breaking History, hosts Matt Ehret and Ghost dive into the turbulent aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination, analyzing whether it was a catalyst that fractured the information battlespace into open civil war. They explore the bizarre narratives surrounding the alleged shooter, the uncanny media framing, and suspicious ties to Ukraine's Azov Battalion. The discussion widens into historical parallels, from COINTELPRO and Operation Gladio to Freemasonic intrigues, Vatican influence, and British designs on reabsorbing America. With international flashpoints in Europe, the Middle East, and Venezuela adding to the chaos, the hosts warn of a familiar 9/11-style trap: fear and outrage weaponized into calls for censorship and authoritarian ā€œsecurity.ā€ This isn't just about one assassination, it's about the deeper struggle over who controls the narrative, the nation, and the future.

FIRST HOUR 9-915 HEADLINE: Global Allies Worry About US Division, Adversaries Exploit Weakness GUEST AND TITLE: Ambassador Husain Haqqani, Hudson Institute Director of Eurasia Project; Bill Roggio, Senior Fellow for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies SUMMARY: Ambassador Husain Haqqani states US allies are "very worried" by American internal division and extreme rhetoric, unlike past unity. Bill Roggio notes similar European issues, but the US now seems to lead in domestic disorder. Adversaries like China, Russia, and Islamist extremists exploit this polarization, using social media manipulation and citing Western decline. Both emphasize leaders must reduce aggressive rhetoric, promote bipartisan cooperation, and control social media to heal divisions, advocating for unity to counter external exploitation and domestic radicalization. 915-930 HEADLINE: Global Allies Worry About US Division, Adversaries Exploit Weakness GUEST AND TITLE: Ambassador Husain Haqqani, Hudson Institute Director of Eurasia Project; Bill Roggio, Senior Fellow for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies 930-945 HEADLINE: Political Crises Deepen in Brazil and Venezuela Amidst US Pressure GUEST AND TITLE: Alejandro Peña Esclusa, Venezuelan writer and thinker; Ernesto Araújo, former Foreign Minister of the Republic of Brazil SUMMARY: Ernesto Araújo discusses former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's conviction for an alleged assassination plot, calling it a "show trial" despite a dissenting judge's opinion. He notes Bolsonaro's failed anti-system movement. Alejandro Peña Esclusa reports a US military buildup near Venezuela, fostering internal military discussions about turning in Maduro. Israel responded with strikes on Houthi military and media infrastructure in Sana'a, causing civilian casualties. US Treasury sanctioned 32 Houthi-affiliated individuals/entities for supporting Iranian-backed smuggling networks. Toomey confirms Iran absolutely provides weapons, mostly via ship routes, despite interdiction efforts. She notes Houthis are undeterred, fueled by past attacks, and will likely continue unless Iran is held accountable. Bill Roggio critiques a recent, unsuccessful Israeli strike in Doha. 1015-1030 HEADLINE: Houthis Remain Undeterred Despite Israeli Strikes and US Sanctions GUEST AND TITLE: Bridget Toomey, Foundation for Defense of Democracies Houthi Watcher; Bill Roggio, Senior Fellow for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies SUMMARY: Bridget Toomey reports Houthis continue daily drone and missile launches towards Israel, with Israeli Iron Dome defenses proving effective. Tan claims Yoon aligns with the Chinese Communist Party and North Korea, dismantling counterintelligence and attending parades with Putin and Kim Jong-un. He reports Chinese nationals, pro-Yoon, illegally voted, and a third of South Korean police are reportedly CCP operatives. Yoon'sapproval is low, with most Koreans distrusting the CCP and prioritizing the US alliance. 1045-1100 HEADLINE: China's Advanced Weapon Systems and Global Asteroid Defense Ambitions GUEST AND TITLE: Rick Fisher, Senior Fellow, International Assessment and Strategy Center; Gordon Chang, author and geopolitical analyst SUMMARY: Rick Fisher discusses China's new DF-26D ballistic missile, capable of intercepting aircraft carriers up to 4,000 km, and other advanced unmanned weapon systems surpassing US capabilities. Gordon Chang questions US defense against these hypersonic threats. Fisher notes Russia's Energia space program faces financial distress due to the Ukraine war. China proposes an international asteroid defense, inviting global participation. Fisher warns this PLA-controlled initiative could be a front to develop anti-satellite capabilities and challenge the US in future conflicts. He suggests Ukraine's counterattacks are part of an active defense, and their focus on Pokrovsk is strategically sound despite manpower shortages. Hardie highlights recent massive Russian drone barrages, including one into Poland, as a "wake-up call" for NATO to improve cost-effective air defenses. He advocates for stronger US secondary sanctions on Russian oil revenue and untying Ukraine's hands for long-range strikes. 1115-1130 HEADLINE: Ukraine Advances in Sumy, NATO Urged to Boost Russia Sanctions GUEST AND TITLE: John Hardie, Foundation for Defense of Democracies; Bill Roggio, Senior Fellow for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies130-1145 HEADLINE: MIT Professor Explains the Discovery of Ionic Liquid, Expanding Search for Extraterrestrial Life GUEST AND TITLE: Professor Sara Seager, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; David Livingston, Dr. Space of the Space Show SUMMARY: Professor Sara Seager discusses the accidental lab discovery of ionic liquids, a non-evaporating liquid salt potentially sustaining life on planets without water, expanding the traditional "habitable zone" concept. She envisions future missions like a Solar Gravitational Lens Telescope. For her lifetime, Professor Seager prioritizes privately funded "Morning Star missions" to Venus, beginning with Rocket Lab in 2026, to directly study its cloud particles for signs of life in this overlooked sister planet.1145-1200 HEADLINE: MIT Professor Explains the Discovery of Ionic Liquid, Expanding Search for Extraterrestrial Life GUEST AND TITLE: Professor Sara Seager, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; David Livingston, Dr. Space of the Space Show SUMMARY: Professor Sara Seager discusses the accidental lab discovery of ionic liquids, a non-evaporating liquid salt potentially sustaining life on planets without water, expanding the traditional "habitable zone" concept. Despite the failure, she believes Israel's defense capabilities and past decapitation efforts were incredible, fostering public resolve against terrorism. Kissel notes Qatar's role as a money-laundering center and host of terror groups, despite its strategic importance to the US. She emphasizes that Iran, the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, remains defiant regarding its nuclear and missile programs, posing an ongoing challenge for Israel and the US.1215-1230 Guest Names: Ahmad Sharawi and Bill Roggio Summary: Ahmad Sharawi and Bill Roggio discuss Al-Sharaa, the self-named president of Syria, who was appointed by militia leaders. His loyalist-drafted constitution grants him extensive powers, with key ministries held by former HTScommanders, and minority representatives serving as mere tokens. Formal Name: Ahmad Sharawi and Bill Roggio, Foundation for the Defense of Democracies 1230-1245 HEADLINE: Genocide Allegations Against Israel Debunked by Expert Analysis GUEST AND TITLE: Peter Berkowitz, Tad and Diane Taube Senior Fellow, Hoover Institution at Stanford University SUMMARY: Peter Berkowitz debunks genocide allegations against Israel, emphasizing the UN definition requires intent to destroy a group. Tensions between the United States and Venezuela are rapidly intensifying. Just hours after Caracas condemned a U.S. strike that killed 11 people, President Trump announced a second attack on a Venezuelan boat, killing three more. Washington calls the dead ā€œnarcoterrorists,ā€ while Venezuela denounces the strikes as ā€œheinous crimes.ā€ With two lethal encounters in just days, fears are mounting that these clashes could spiral into a wider regional conflict — or even outright war. //The Wire//2300Z September 15, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: IED ATTACK FAILS IN SALT LAKE CITY, ASSAILANTS ARRESTED. ADDITIONAL SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED IN KIRK ASSASSINATION CASE. WAR DEPARTMENT STRIKES NARCO BOAT OFF VENEZUELA COAST.//Ā -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-United Kingdom: Over the weekend the "Unite the Kingdom" protests took place in London and throughout the nation, mostly without much issue. Some scuffles with police were noted, but British authorities provided a map of all of the unrest, which was almost entirely contained within the counter-protester areas.Caribbean: This afternoon the U.S. carried out another kinetic strike of a suspected narco-vessel off the coast of Venezuela. One vessel was struck by the U.S. Navy, resulting in 3x enemy casualties.-HomeFront-Utah: The investigation into the Kirk assassination continues, as the dragnet of potential accomplices widens. The FBI has stated that 7x people associated with the alleged killer have been identified throughout Utah, mostly online associates who had prior knowledge of the attack during the planning phase. These individuals are currently being investigated, and at least one individual was directly told by Robinson that he intended to kill Charlie Kirk. Authorities state that Tyler Robinson is not cooperating with the investigation, has reversed his previous confession, and begun to state his innocence for the attack.More kinetically, yesterday afternoon two assailants attempted to target a news vehicle with an incendiary device in Salt Lake City. Adeeb Nasir and Adil Nassir were arrested after using a homemade explosive device on a parked news vehicle in an undisclosed location somewhere in the city. The device failed to detonate properly, and instead started a fire under the vehicle. Following their arrests, a further search of their home in Magna revealed an IED factory, where other explosive devices were discovered.North Carolina: Decarlos Brown Jr. (the murderer of Iryna Zarutska) has been transferred to a mental institution by Judge Roy Wiggins, so as to determine the defendant's capacity to proceed with a trial.Tennessee: President Trump has formalized the order to activate National Guard soldiers throughout Memphis to combat crime, continuing the similar efforts that have been observed throughout Washington D.C. This line of effort has been named the Memphis Safe Task Force.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: There is a difference between someone making crass comments, and attack planning. Turns out, in the Kirk assassination, there is nearly-complete overlap between these two distinctions: The same types of people who celebrated Kirk's death, also ended up taking the next step to endorse legitimate terror attacks. It is this careful distinction that we must consider over the next few weeks as the situation remains hot.Around the United States, many leftist groups are organizing, using the Kirk assassination as a method of unity and shared values. For most armed far-left militia groups, this organization is still mostly in the Public Relations phase, using the assassination to move the goalposts toward normalizing violence against the political right (more than it already is).In Arizona, the memorial to Kirk was vandalized during a vigil. The assailant was wearing the same shirt as Kirk's alleged killer, as has been common over the past few days. If the thousands of people rejoicing in the violence online weren't an indication of what many on the political left are thinking, the merchandise and T-shirts that have been created to celebrate the murder should provide some insight. Similar vandalism efforts have been reported randomly around the nation, mostly confined to areas where far-left militant groups maintain a foothold.Throughout the country the celebrations over the murder have

President Donald Trump recently celebrated the destruction of a boat that was allegedly carrying illegal narcotics from Venezuela to the United States. The 11 people on board were killed, according to the White House. Trump released a video on social media showing the boat going up in flames, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that more attacks like this could be coming. Members of Congress have yet to gain more details or evidence into the unusual strike, which did not follow typical maritime protocols. The administration has claimed those on board were ā€œnarco-terroristsā€ and members of the criminal group Tren de Aragua, while Venezuela's leader Nicolas Maduro has called in thousands of reservists over concerns that this could be the opening shot in a broader conflict between the U.S. and Venezuela. These and other developments, including a rebranding of the Department of Defense and a visit by Pete Hegseth to Puerto Rico, have many wondering: Have we entered a new era in the nearly quarter-century war on terror? Today, host Colby Itkowitz speaks with national security reporter Tara Copp about the details of the attack and how Trump is making it a military priority to go after drug cartels. Today's show was produced by Elana Gordon with help from Lucas Trevor. It was edited by Peter Bresnan and mixed by Sean Carter. Special thanks to Andy deGrandpre. As soon as word got out that conservative commentator Charlie Kirk had been shot, rumors began circulating online suggesting Israeli involvement, compelling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to dismiss them as absurd and antisemitic. A Grayzone article cited an anonymous Trump insider who claimed Kirk rejected Netanyahu's financial backing for Turning Point USA and faced escalating pressure and intimidation from pro-Israel allies.Ā  Guest host Misty Winston and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss how, in the months before his death, Kirk publicly questioned Israeli influence in Washington, October 7th intelligence failures, and the unchecked power of Zionist donors, sparking backlash from figures like Ben Shapiro. The coverage frames Kirk's killing as both a turning point in right-wing discourse on Israel and a warning to others not to dissent. 00:00:50 – Conservatives Flip Cancel CultureOpening segment critiques GOP leaders for embracing censorship after Charlie Kirk's assassination, arguing they are betraying his free speech legacy and becoming worse than the left. 00:06:30 – Radical GOP ProposalsRepresentative Clay Higgins is condemned for pushing lifetime social media bans, revoked business licenses, and even driver's license cancellations for speech deemed offensive—an attack on the First Amendment through Big Tech partnerships. 00:14:00 – Smith-Mundt Act MisusedA viral Trump-supporting TikToker calls for a ā€œCharlie Kirk Actā€ to censor the press. The host explains how the Smith-Mundt Act was never about punishing speech but restricting government propaganda—warning that censorship is being rebranded for conservatives. 00:23:15 – Cancel Culture HypocrisyBoth Democrats and Republicans are accused of exploiting Kirk's death—Democrats tying it to gun control, Republicans pushing censorship. The host argues both sides are betraying the principles Kirk defended. 00:31:38 – GOP Leaders Demand ConsequencesSenators like Katie Britt and J.D. Vance are highlighted for calling to punish ā€œhate speech,ā€ showing how the right is embracing the same cancel culture tactics they once condemned. 00:52:28 – Israel, Donors & ConspiraciesSpeculation surfaces that Kirk's rejection of Netanyahu-linked funding and warnings to Trump about Israel may have made him a target. The host urges caution, noting no evidence yet connects Israel to his assassination despite widespread rumors online. 01:02:08 – Motives Behind Kirk's MurderCommentary on possible motives for Charlie Kirk's assassination, including Trump benefiting from chaos and his recent criticism of Israel. Calls for careful examination before jumping to conclusions. 01:03:53 – FCC, Censorship & Big TechGuard Goldsmith highlights how GOP proposals mirror unconstitutional FCC powers. The host warns conservatives are embracing the same censorship and propaganda tactics they once opposed. 01:12:00 – Public Schools as Root CauseDiscussion shifts to government schools as the breeding ground for Marxism, transgender ideology, and political violence. Schools are described as ā€œseminariesā€ for collectivism and indoctrination. 01:19:21 – Socialist Politicians on the RiseProfiles of young socialist candidates like Mamadou Niang in NYC and Omar Fatah in Minneapolis. Their platforms include rent freezes, taxing ā€œwhite people,ā€ gender ideology, and anti-police measures. 01:23:11 – Property Taxes & Education FundingAnalysis of efforts in Florida, Texas, and Indiana to roll back property taxes that fund schools. Property taxes are described as ā€œtheft,ā€ preventing true ownership and propping up socialist indoctrination. 01:35:36 – Ending Political Violence by Ending Public SchoolsClosing argument that Marxist frameworks taught in schools normalize hatred and violence. The only solution, the host insists, is the complete separation of education from government. 01:44:24 – Discord, Radicalization & SchoolsCriticism of Zero Hedge and conservative media for blaming Discord for radicalizing shooters. The argument is that the true root cause is government schools, not messaging platforms. 01:51:26 – FBI Failures & Influencer BureaucracyCash Patel and Dan Bongino are mocked as ā€œinfluencer appointeesā€ running the FBI like a pageant. The bureau is accused of incompetence after failing to catch Kirk's killer without public tips. 02:01:06 – Co-Conspirators & Shooter's RadicalizationFBI claims to be investigating possible co-conspirators. Discussion focuses on how schools, not Discord or games, radicalize youth into violence, while trans ideology fuels desperation. 02:07:17 – Shooter's Identity & Furry SubcultureDetails emerge about the assassin's background: Mormon upbringing, transgender partners, furry subculture, and ideological indoctrination. Schools are again blamed as the pipeline of radicalization. 02:22:14 – Prayer Criminalized in AustraliaReports from New South Wales highlight laws banning prayer for transgender individuals. Framed as proof that Western democracies are outlawing Christianity while enforcing state ideology. 02:35:42 – AI Becomes a False ReligionMillions use AI-powered religious chatbots for guidance. This is described as ā€œOuija board religion,ā€ a technocratic counterfeit that flatters narcissism while storing confessions for surveillance. 02:51:16 – Venezuela Oil Grab & Trump's War PlansFinal segment argues Trump's push into Venezuela is about seizing the world's largest oil reserves under the guise of ā€œdemocratic stability.ā€ Parallels are drawn to CIA drug running and past U.S. wars for resources. 02:51:16 – Venezuela Oil Grab & Trump's War PlansFinal segment argues Trump's push into Venezuela is about seizing the world's largest oil reserves under the guise of ā€œdemocratic stability.ā€ Parallels are drawn to CIA drug running and past U.S. wars for resources.Follow the show on Kick and watch live every weekday 9:00am EST – 12:00pm EST https://kick.com/davidknightshow Money should have intrinsic value AND transactional privacy: Go to https://davidknight.gold/ for great deals on physical gold/silverFor 10% off Gerald Celente's prescient Trends Journal, go to https://trendsjournal.com/ and enter the code KNIGHTFind out more about the show and where you can watch it atĀ TheDavidKnightShow.com If you would like to support the show and our family please considerĀ subscribing monthlyĀ here:Ā SubscribeStarĀ https://www.subscribestar.com/the-david-knight-showOr you can send a donation throughMail: David Knight POB 994 Kodak, TN 37764Zelle:Ā @DavidKnightShow@protonmail.comCashĀ AppĀ at: $davidknightshowBTCĀ to: bc1qkuec29hkuye4xse9unh7nptvu3y9qmv24vanh7Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-real-david-knight-show--5282736/support.

Since late August, the Trump administration has sent a flotilla of U.S. warships to the southern Caribbean, in the largest naval display in the region in decades. On September 2, a U.S. drone strike sank a small boat near the Venezuelan coast, killing as many as eleven civilians. Administration officials allege the vessel carried cocaine, but have presented no evidence. In this WOLA Podcast episode, Adam Isacson speaks with Laura Dib, Director for Venezuela, and John Walsh, Director for Drug Policy and the Andes, about the shockwaves from this escalation, both region-wide and especially in Venezuela. An Extreme New Military Stance: Seven warships and up to 7,000 personnel now patrol Caribbean waters near Venezuela. A lethal strike on September 2 marks, as Walsh calls it, ā€œa radical departureā€ from decades of U.S. maritime drug-interdiction practice. Serious Legal and Human-Rights Implications: U.S. law authorizes interdiction of illegal drugs, not summary execution. ā€œThere's a word in English for an act like this,ā€ Walsh warns. ā€œThat word is murder.ā€ International law allows the use of force only in self-defense or with the approval of the UN Security Council—neither applies. U.S. law and policy, too, prohibit the use of lethal force on civilians without a self-defense justification. That is so even if those civilians are labeled ā€œterrorists,ā€ if there is no link to the September 11, 2001 attacks, and no explicit congressional authorization for the use of force. The Venezuela Context: After fraudulent July 2024 elections, NicolĆ”s Maduro governs without legitimacy, with widespread persecution and what Dib calls ā€œreasons to believe that crimes against humanity have been committed.ā€ There is also a clear connection between large-scale corruption and the complex humanitarian emergency in which the country is immersed. Criminal economies flourish in a regime of state-embedded drug trafficking, but Venezuela is not the busiest route for U.S.-bound cocaine. The Reality of the U.S. Drug Overdose Crisis: The U.S. overdose emergency is driven by fentanyl and other opioids ā€œthat come almost entirely through Mexico,ā€ Walsh notes, ā€œwith zero to do with anything in the Caribbean.ā€ At least as of 2022, 80 percent of cocaine also transits the Pacific route via Central America and Mexico, not the Caribbean. U.S. Political Calculations: Trump administration officials boast of the strike and hint at more. They frame Venezuela as a ā€œnarco-terrorā€ threat while simultaneously maintaining oil licenses, cooperating on deportations, and even meeting with Maduro earlier this year. Walsh warns the move feeds a domestic narrative of an ā€œinvasionā€ of migrants and organized crime groups to justify domestic use of emergency powers. Regional and Global Fallout: Some Latin American governments show ā€œstriking silence,ā€ Dib observes, torn between defending sovereignty and condemning Maduro's abuses. The OAS and UN have issued only mild calls for de-escalation, reflecting both U.S. pressure and Venezuela's authoritarian reality. Both guests outline alternatives: Cut the Financial Lifelines: Dib calls for re-establishing the Justice Department's Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative to seize billions in stolen Venezuelan assets. The U.S. government should coordinate more closely with Europe and Latin America to track the proceeds of corruption and undermine the economic pillar of support for authoritarian governments with connections to illicit economies. Support Civil Society and Rule of Law: It is urgent to restore programming previously administered by USAID that sustains independent journalism and human-rights groups now operating under threat, and to use universal-jurisdiction statutes to prosecute Venezuelan officials responsible for torture or other grave abuses. Address U.S. Drug Demand at Home: Expand and strengthen harm-reduction and treatment—naloxone distribution, methadone access—that have begun to lower overdose deaths. Reject the false promise of militarized interdiction that decades of evidence show to be ineffective and costly. As Isacson sums up, ā€œFrom overdose prevention to supporting civil society in Venezuela to curbing illicit financial flows…the administration is taking key tools out of its toolboxā€ while swinging a military sledgehammer. Two recent court rulings impact the rights of more than one and a half million immigrants to legally live and work in the United States, including here in Minnesota. On Friday, a federal appeals court ruled the Trump Administration can end what's called humanitarian parole for Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela. But another program is still in legal limbo. Earlier this month, a federal court blocked the administration from ending Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and Venezuelans in the United States. Michele Garnett McKenzie is an immigration lawyer and co-executive director of The Advocates for Human Rights and shared the legal implications with Minnesota Now host Nina Moini. And David Policard founded the organization called VANSE to support Haitians in Minnesota and joined the program to talk about what he's hearing from immigrants on this status.

Donald Trump has declared a war on drug cartels. He's wielded the flow of narcotics, namely fentanyl, into the U.S. as one of the major reasons behind aspects of his global trade war. He's added a number of cartels to the foreign terrorist organisations list. And last month, the Trump administration stepped things up by quietly signing a Pentagon directive to allow the use of military force against drug cartels. That led to a U.S. drone strike on a Venezuelan boat on international waters, killing all 11 on board. Now, the possibility of more attacks hangs over Venezuela and Mexico, another target of Trump's cartel war. Alexander AviƱa, an associate professor of Latin American history at Arizona State University joins us to talk about the impact of these recent escalations and what history tell us about how effective drug wars really are..For transcripts of Front Burner, please visit: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/frontburner/transcripts
