Alexander Pieper gründete 2011 gemeinsam mit zwei MitstreiterInnen in Ludwigsburg Studio Fizbin, das in den kommenden Jahren einige der aussagekräftigsten Games der deutschen Spielebranche veröffentlichen würde: The Inner World, ein Spiel über religiösen Fanatismus. Say No More, ein Spiel über die Abgründe der Firmenwelt. Lost At Sea, ein Spiel über Vergangenheitsbewältigung. Minutes of Island, ein Spiel über die Suche nach dem eigenen Platz in der Welt. Und nun ganz frisch: Reignbreaker, eine spielbare Kriegserklärung gegen Despotismus und die Oligarchie. Doch hinter dieser strahlenden Portfolio-Fassade kämpft ein talentiertes und erfahrenes Entwicklerteam ums Überleben: Im November 2024 teilte der schwedische Mutterkonzern Thunderful Piepers Team mit, dass Kosten eingespart werden müssen und deswegen die "hausinterne Entwicklung heruntergefahren" werde. Und das bedeutet: Im Studio Fizbin könnten noch dieses Jahr die Lichter ausgehen. Alexander Pieper, der von seinem Team einfach nur "Pepe" genannt wird, erzählt Gastgeber Dom Schott in dieser Ausgabe von "OK COOL trifft" ganz offen davon, wie er die letzten Monate erlebt hat: zwischen der unheilvollen Nachricht des Mutterkonzerns und des fast gleichzeitigen Releases von Reignbreaker, an dem das Studio drei Jahre lang gearbeitet hat. Außerdem erinnert er sich an die Zeit, in der alles begann: Sein Studium, den unverhofften Weg in die Spielebranche, die Gründung von Fizbin und schließlich seinen Umzug nach Berlin. As a young child he lived in Manchester, attended his first school St. George's, Wallasey (Liverpool) and in 1950 was sent to The Royal School Wolverhampton where his education was paid for by the RAF Benevolent Fund. Leaving school in 1962 with 10 O levels, 3 A Levels and 1 S Level he was accepted by Pembroke College, Cambridge, to read English Literature, in which he took his B.A. in 1965.From 1964/5 he was President of The Footlights Dramatic Club (founded in 1883) and changed the rules to accept women members, the first of whom was Germaine Greer. After touring with her in the annual Footlights Revue My Girl Herbert (1965) which ran for a brief time at The Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, he spent a season in Leicester Rep before moving to London, appearing in two BBC TV Movies: Jonathan Millers Alice in Wonderland, and Ken Russell's Isadora, and then starting to write professionally for BBC Radio's I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again and BBC Television's The Frost Report, which won The Golden Rose of Montreux.In 1968 he began writing and acting in two series of a children's TV hit, Do Not Adjust Your Set, with Michael Palin Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, which won The Priz Jeunnesse, Munich for Best Children's Television. The success of this show led to four series of Monty Python's Flying Circus for the BBC from July 1969 through 1973, with the addition of John Cleese and Graham Chapman. Also in that month he married actress Lyn Ashley, by whom he had a son Carey (b. 1973). The Pythons made several stage appearances, Monty Python's First Farewell Tour, (UK and Canada, 1973) Monty Python Live at Drury Lane (1974) Monty Python Live at City Center (1976), and several movies, And Now For Something Completely Different (1971), Monty Python and The Holy Grail (1975), The Life of Brian (1979), Monty Python Live at The Hollywood Bowl (1982) and The Meaning of Life (1983).After Python he created Radio Five the first comedy music show on BBC's Radio One. His first play Pass The Butler was produced at The Globe Theatre, London 1983 where it ran for five months. In 1977 he met Tania Kosevich in New York, and married her there in 1981. They have one daughter, Lily (b. 1990.)He has appeared in several films including Baron Munchausen, European Vacation, Yellowbeard, Nuns on the Run, Splitting Heirs, Casper, Wind in the Willows and has voiced Transformers, Shrek 3, South Park (the movie) and four episodes of The Simpsons. In 1986 he appeared as Koko in Jonathan Miller's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado at The English National Opera, a role he repeated at The Houston Grand Opera in 1989. In 1994 he moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.Publications include The Rutland Dirty Weekend Book (1976) a children's audio book The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and The Pussycat (1996) and two novels Hello Sailor (1975) and The Road to Mars (1999.) In 1978 he began collaborating with composer John Du Prez, writing and recording songs for Monty Python, the signature tune for One Foot in the Grave and a musical Behind The Crease for BBC Radio Four (1990.) A comic Oratorio Not The Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) based on Monty Python's Life of Brian, written with John Du Prez “for Choir, Orchestra and Sheep”,premiered in Toronto (May 2006) conducted by his cousin Peter Oundjian. Subsequently it was lengthened and performed on tour in Australia and New Zealand, including two sell out nights at The Sydney Opera House, Wolf Trap (Washington), Houston and two nights at The Hollywood Bowl 2009 (with fireworks to the Galaxy Song) all conducted by John Du Prez. Idle appeared in all performances singing “Baritonish.” In October 2009 as part of the celebration of forty years of Monty Python it was performed and filmed at The Royal Albert Hall, London, with guest stars fellow Pythons Michael Palin, Terry Jones, and Terry Gilliam, plus Carol Cleveland and Neil Innes. Carlos Alberto García Moreno nació el 23 de octubre de 1951 y es una de las figuras fundamentales de la música contemporánea argentina. Bajo un seudónimo que lo identifica artísticamente, resalta como uno de los más reconocidos tecladistas, compositores, vocalistas y productores latinoamericanos de rock. Su debut discográfico se remonta a 1972, cuando participó del primer disco de Raúl Porchetto, titulado "Cristo Rock". Fue una figura clave en bandas icónicas del rock argentino como Sui Géneris y Serú Girán, PorSuiGieco y la Máquina de Hacer Pájaros además de contar con una amplia etapa solista. Ha ganado varios premios como el Grammy a la Excelencia Musical en Las Vegas, otorgado por la Academia Latina de la Grabación, que entrega los Premios Grammy Latinos; el Premio a la Trayectoria en la entrega de los Premios Clarín Espectáculos 2009; y, en 2010, fue declarado Ciudadano ilustre de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires por la Legislatura porteña. Porque crecimos con sus canciones y su oído absoluto nos ha hecho ver el mundo con Ojos de Video Tape. Este es el Say No Roll 7.0 Remezclado, una serie especial de 7 episodios con declaraciones y nuestros momentos esterales junto a Charly García. Homenaje a los 70 años de Charly Garcia Han pasado 70 años desde que Buenos Aires vio nacer a un artista único, alguien que con su oído absoluto ha hecho que la música sea especial y diferente, hoy 23 de octubre, queremos recordar gracias a mis Ojos de Video Tape mi primer encuentro con Say No More. Fue en Bogotá en agosto de 2002, estaba de vuelta para presentar Influencia, Charly llego con sus casi 2 metros de altura y una hora de retraso aproximadamente, cuando entro al lobby del hotel todo el mundo se quedo quieto y mudo, era como si le hubiera apretado la tecla de pause al ambiente. Mi casa estaba a tres cuadras, llevaba años esperando el momento y algunas semanas o meses dejándome el bigote, que por esa época no me crecía muy bien, cuando me entere que la conferencia de prensa era ahí y que Charly se iba a quedar en ese hotel, mi corazón empezó a latir muy fuertemente, ese día estaba con mi gran amiga Luisa Piñeros y también tuve el honor de conocer y tener al lado a mi último gran amigo, Alejandro Marín, quien recuerda ese día: “Vos fuiste el primero en entrar en esa sala, sin que NADIE dijera nada…y todos nos parchamos al lado y detrás de ti. Nos conocimos exactamente en esa rueda de prensa de Charly en la que le entregaste a él un disco, te acordás?” Claro que me acuerdo, tenía una botellita de tequila, estaba muy nervioso me sudaba todo, cuando dijeron mi nombre rápidamente me la bebí, y con una voz muy floja lo salude, me acerque muy lentamente y le di una copia de Beaucoup of Blues, un álbum de Ringo Starr grabado en 1970 que solo había escuchado una vez, dentro tenia una nota y algunas cosas mas. Alejandro Marín también relata lo que paso aquel día: “Charly lo supo, sabía que vos lo querías más que nadie en esa rueda de prensa, y te mandaste, Charly no copiaba, el man estaba en otro país por primera vez en mucho tiempo, y había otro man igual de tostao, talentoso e inteligente, diciéndole un montón de cosas con un montón de regalos… fue inolvidable.” Al tenerlo al frente y después de temblar bastante, le pregunte por la Maravillización, es la forma que tenía en los primeros años de la década para masterizar, en su momento la explicación no me quedo clara, pero hoy casi 20 años después lo entiendo perfectamente, fue un momento absolutamente inolvidable. Volumen 1 Lo tengo clavado, a la mañana siguiente después de un show increíble, donde además fue la última vez que vi a María Gabriela Epumer, lo volví a ver, sus bigotes de dos colores salían del hotel y toda su cara pintada, le empecé a decir mil cosas, él no me entendía nada, al final le pregunte si había guardado el disco, lo sacó de su cámara y me dijo “Claro Che! Ringo!”, me grabo un rato, me firmo mi copia de Tango 4, le di un beso y le dije ; “Cuídate… no te mueras nunca!!”, que loco fue ese día, ese show, esa sensación de tener enfrente alguien que ha escrito y descrito la vida de tanta gente, tantas culturas, incluyendo la mía por supuesto. En 2004 hizo el mejor show que le he visto en la vida, casi 4 horas sin parar en Razzmatazz (Barcelona), presentando Rock & Roll Yo, ese día compre mi brazalete de Say No More, Gozar es tan necesario mi amor!!!, lástima que después de algún tiempo lo perdí y no lo he podido volver a conseguir. Pero si insisto yo se muy bien te conseguiré... Unos años mas tarde, ya viviendo en España y gracias a Marianela Pelzmajer, gran amiga en Buenos Aires, lo pudo convencer de hacer una nota para Latin-Roll, nuestra recién nacida agencia de contenidos, durante días tuve esa misma ansiedad en el cuerpo, por primera vez tenia el lujo de poder preguntarle un montón de cosas, pero la presión de no salir con cualquier cosa, de preguntar lo estrictamente necesario y sobre todo de tener en cuenta que su estado de salud se estaba deteriorando poco a poco. Volumen 2 La entrevista ha sido una de las mejores experiencias profesionales que haya tenido, hablamos casi media hora, desde su inédito Kill Gil, hasta de sus primeros discos, pasando por el estado actual del Rock, de los realities, y la falsa premisa del decálogo Como Conseguir Chicas, la intranquilidad que solo se fue de mi cuerpo cuando dijo “Saludos a los amigos!! Latin-Roll, Say No Roll! Volumen 3 Volumen 4 Volumen 5 Volumen 6 Un año después paso todo lo de Mendoza y su tortura en las clínicas, cuando estuve en Buenos Aires no pare de pensar en él, un solo segundo, frente a la clínica Dharma quería enviarle todas las energías posibles para que saliera adelante. Durante mi última visita al Rio de la Plata en mayo tuve la oportunidad de volverlo a ver, fue en Montevideo pudimos hablar un rato y veo el mismo brillo en sus ojos, me sigue produciendo la misma emoción su banda suena contundente, su inconsciente colectivo sigue intacto y solo queda agradecerle eternamente por todo lo que ha hecho, nos ha dado y que su música nos siga iluminando. PSR Episode #01 Time 1:00:16 In our first episode of PSR, we visit Bay Area DJ and record collector Anthony Colón at his home in Oakland California. Anthony and I used to have a monthly night at Rock Bar in the Mission District in San Francisco called Hello Stranger. The night ran for over 4 years. Unfortunately, we where forced to end it due to cabaret permit about a year ago. Anthony has since become a father and is taking a break from all Dj commitments. I got to catch up with him and meet his lovely daughter Ruby for the first time. He welcomed me into his home and set up the portables on the kitchen table where we recorded this first episode. Hoy revisitaremos uno de los discos más importantes en la discografía del genial músico argentino Charly García. Se trata de La Hija de la Lágrima publicado en 1994. Un disco que indudablemente marcó una ruptura en el trabajo de García. Comencemos escuchando La Sal no Sala uno de los sencillos de este disco. Canción 1: La Sal no Sala.Locución 1: La primera mitad de los años noventa encontraron a Charly García como un artista consagrado y quizá como el músico de rock más importante de América Latina. Tras una década exitosa y absolutamente prolija con discos como Piano Bar y Parte de la Religión y serios tropiezos emocionales, García se embarcó en su nuevo proyecto titulado La Hija de la Lágrima. Para esto renovó a su banda alineando por primera vez a la guitarrista María Gabriela Epúmer junto a sus viejos pupilos Fabián Quintiero en teclados, Fernando Samalea en batería y Fernando Lupano en el bajo, además, incluyó la orquestación de Carlos Villavicencio y las apariciones estelares de Juanse de Los Ratónes Paranoicos y el dúo Illya Kuryaki. De este disco escuchemos la obertura de la ópera y el tema que le sigue titulado Víctima.Canción 2: ObertureCanción 3: VíctimaLocución 2: Entre 1993 y 1994 Charly García ideó, compuso, grabó y presentó su primera ópera-rock llamada La Hija de La Lágrima, un título que le vino a Charly en una calle de Barcelona en 1990, allí, mientras caminaba en la noche vio como una mujer golpeaba a otra con una chancleta mientras profería la ya famosa frase “… y no te olvides nunca que yo soy la hija de la lágrima”, cuatro años después, dicha frase fue el punto de partida no sólo para el nuevo disco sino para una nueva etapa en la carrera de Charly. Continuemos con la música y escuchemos ahora el tema Kurosawa. Canción 4: KurosawaLocución 3: La composición de la dichosa ópera-rock de García estuvo influenciada por varios músicos innovadores en el campo del arte, por un lado Pete Townshed escritor y guitarrista del grupo The Who y sus óperas-rock y por otro, el fallecido Kurt Cobain, líder de Nirvana a quién Charly rindió homenaje con un particular corte y teñido de pelo. Sin embargo, no era la primera vez que García se abocaba en una ópera-rock, en los días previos a Sui Generis, Charly compuso la también ópera-rock Theo, un trabajo que nunca vio la luz. De La Hija de la Lágrima escuchemos la canción Love is Love seguida de la pieza instrumental Tema de Amor.Canción 5: Love is LoveCanción 6: Tema de AmorLocución 4: La grabación de “La Hija” transcurrió durante gran parte de 1994 y la intención original de Charly por profundizar en el género canción se vio interrumpido por la composición en tiempo real de este trabajo, es decir, que las piezas del álbum fueron compuestas mientras se trabajaba en el estudio de grabación. Según cuenta Sergio Marchi, amigo y biógrafo de Charly, las sesiones de grabación y finalización del disco fueron durísimas y en ocasiones se extendieron durante días enteros. Escuchemos ahora la canción Waitin.Canción 7: WaitinLocución 5: Hoy en “Rocanrol Bumerang” en Radiónica estamos revisitando la famosa ópera-rock de Charly García La Hija de la Lágrima. La historia de esta ópera no es muy precisa y según el mismo García, sólo él la conoce completamente. Sin embargo, en el disco se descubre la historia de una mujer que huye a la estratosfera desde Atlantis un mundo que queda en las profundidades de la Tierra y que es gobernado por una reina llamada La Lágrima. La reina es la madre de la protagonista y también es propietaria de una fábrica de mercurio, un material químico fundamental para la civilización intraterrena que funciona como elemento conector dentro de la obra. El mercurio se ve reflejado en la tapa del disco, un huevo o lágrima plateada delante de un fondo oscuro. Canción 8: Chipi-ChipiCanción 9: Calle (Taxi)Locución 6: De La Hija de la Lágrima escuchábamos el primer single del disco, se trata de Chipi-Chipi, la última canción compuesta y grabada por Charly para el disco ante la ausencia de una que funcionara como single radial, aun así, algunos elementos de la obra aparecen en esta canción. Luego de Chipi-Chipi escuchamos la pieza instrumental Calle (Taxi). Continuando con la historia de la obra, la protagonista no encuentra conexión con el mundo exterior, desconocido para ella, hasta que conoce a un hombre que la adentra en los territorios escondidos de los sentimientos profundamente ligados al ser humano como el amor, la soledad, la rabia y la tristeza. Sigamos con la música y escuchemos ahora dos de los temas más fuertes del disco, se trata de Workin’ in the Morning y Chiquilín.Canción 10: Workin’ in the MorningCanción 11: ChiquilínLocución 7: Tras la presentación del disco en diez recitales llenos durante el mes de Septiembre de 1994 en el teatro Ópera, García se interesó más por las posibilidades sonoras y los límites que ofrecen los estudios de grabación. Así fue perfeccionando una técnica que él llamo “maravillización” algo similar al “muro de sonido” del productor Phil Spector y que consiste en superponer grabaciones durante el proceso de mezcla. Esta práctica se consolidaría en los discos posteriores del artista que además crearía un nuevo concepto sonoro de la mano de un alter-ego que le generarían tantos aliados como detractores. Say No More sería el punto culmen de la etapa que se inició con “La Hija”. Escuchemos los últimos dos temas que componen el disco, se trata de una versión del reconocido tema Locomotion y Andan. Canción 12: LocomotionCanción 13: Andan Locución 8: Con el paso de los años, el disco La Hija de la Lágrima se ha robustecido y hoy es uno de los más importantes en la carrera de Charly García. Aunque en su momento no fue bien recibido, en parte quizá al estado anímico de su creador, hoy trece años después es uno de los favoritos de la crítica y los aliados. García pocas veces presenta en vivo temas de la ópera-rock a excepción de Chipi-Chipi; sin embargo la presentación del músico en el espacio desconectado de la cadena televisiva MTV permitió apreciar la brillantez de tan sólo dos temas del disco. Escuchemos ahora dos temas más del disco que hoy revisitamos en “Rocanrol Bumerang”, primero el tema instrumental Intraterreno seguido de No sugar.Canción 14: IntraterrenoCanción 15: No sugarCierre: Y así llega su fin “Rocanrol Bumerang”, hoy dedicado a la ópera-rock de Charly García. El argentino promete una secuela de “La Hija” pero que al parecer tiene como título Kill Gil. Soy Félix Sant-Jordi y en la investigación me acompaña Umberto Pérez. Mario was born in Hanover in 1985 and started djing at the age of 15. After his first successful gigs in his hometown he was sure that electronic music was going to be a permanent fixture in his life.
