This week Mountain Murders takes you to Gastonia, NC to discuss the killings of three women. Danny Ronnie Hembree is a career criminal who preyed on young women with drug addictions often dangling crack cocaine like a carrot in front of them. Danny had dated a woman named Stella Funderburk but eventually moved onto her 23 year old daughter, Nicole. During his relationship with Nicole, Danny had sex with her younger sister Heather Catterton trading sex for crack. When Heather turns up dead, her father suspects Danny is involved. When another young woman named Randi Saldana turns up brutally murdered, Danny is once again the prime suspect. Then Danny is linked, surprisingly, to a decades old cold case. When author and evangelist Becky Pippert lived in Ireland, she longed to share the good news of Jesus with Heather, who’d done her nails for two years. But Heather hadn’t seemed remotely interested. Feeling unable to start a conversation, Becky prayed before her appointment. While Heather worked on her nails, Becky flipped through an old magazine and paused at a picture of one of the models. When Heather asked her why she was so riveted, Becky told her the photograph was of a close friend who’d years before been a Vogue cover model. Becky shared some of her friend’s story of coming to faith in God, which Heather listened to in rapt attention. Becky left for a trip and later, when she returned to Ireland, learned that Heather had moved to a new location. As Becky reflected, “I had asked God to provide an opportunity to share the gospel, and He did!” Becky looked to God for help in her weakness, inspired by the apostle Paul. For when Paul was weak and pleaded with God to remove the thorn in his flesh, the Lord said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Paul had learned to rely on God in all things—the big and the small. When we depend on God to help us love those around us, we too will find opportunities to share our faith authentically.

Heather Hubbard is a recovering attorney who overworked herself to the bone. In over 10 years as an attorney, Heather never took a day off and it was killing her spirit. Today, she helps people find their authentic selves and consciously create a life that is authentic, fulfilling, and impactful to them. She is also incredibly against the patriarchy and shares how you can take control of your own narrative and fight for what’s right, too! Key takeaways: Heather is a recovering attorney! Why did she decide to switch careers and path her own way? After Heather’s sister passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Heather questioned everything. Heather felt so guilty saying “no” and so she said yes to everything and realized she was burning herself out. Take action, try things out, and then plan it out more strategically! When Heather left her firm, she decided to send a LinkedIn message to all of her connections. Heather didn’t know what she was doing, but she kept trekking along and making things happen! People showed up and she figured it out. That was how she got started. What gave Heather the courage to leave her job? What is Heather afraid of? Let’s talk about the patriarchy and how Heather is taking it down! Why are things the way they are? Why? Heather would always ask and it drove people crazy! How have the roles and dynamics changed over the years? How can we empower ourselves and take down the patriarchy? Lawyers sue people every day, but if you sue each other? That’s a huge no! If you’re not okay with the systems, then how are we going to contribute? Interested in joining Simple Courage? Heather shares if her platform is right for you! Do you feel like you’re not authentic or true to yourself? Everyone is courageous! It doesn’t have to be a “big act of courage.” You can do baby steps! Resources: Heatherjoyhubbard.com Heather on LinkedIn Quotes: “What I learned in college introduced me to scholars and movements and activists and this was what I had always been looking for but I was never exposed to it, and that’s when I learned about the patriarchy.” “Are we going to truly take down the patriarchy in this lifetime? Probably not, but let’s sure pull as much as we can for future generations.” “We can make a huge difference and I think it comes through being defiant, being courageous, even when it feels like it’s uncomfortable.”

Heather Chauvin is a leadership coach and strategic parenting expert who helps ambitious women become leaders at work and home. Drawing from her professional experience as a social worker and her life experience raising three boys, Heather created a signature approach to focus her clients on sustainability, profitability and ease in business and life. She is the host of the Mom Is In Control Podcast where she reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, marriage, parenting, living through stage 4 cancer and running a successful business—without burning out. When Heather isn't being a classic Canadian by driving her boys to hockey practice, you'll find her curled up on the couch with her husband surfing the internet, researching their next family adventure. Heather shared her very vulnerable and frightening story, which ended up being a clear lesson in her life. She learned to listen to that tiny small voice and to trust yourself. Other powerful take-aways were: What you resist, will persist. Rather than avoiding resistance, move into and through it. What helped Heather to heal on all levels was to start with the question, 'How do you want to feel?" She referenced Danielle LaPorte's Desire Map work and found the questions: 'What do you want, What do you need and What do you desire?' will always guide you towards your highest self. Managing your energy and learning energetic time management is key. Learn to tune into the energy you need in that moment. Start somewhere and keep reinvesting in yourself. Do this by putting yourself on the calendar. Schedule reset and space on the calendar first. If you're not learning, you're done. Trust yourself and trust those whispers. Just to pay attention to that and to lean into the breadcrumbs. We're so all or nothing, I'm either on the couch or I'm running a marathon. Eventually you have to surrender to the process that is daily action and showing up. Showing up for 10 minutes is better than not showing up at all. You need to invest in yourself. You cannot do this alone. You cannot pretend that you can do it all. Nobody does. If they say they do, they're not telling the truth. It's okay to be scared and to take action. When Heather disappeared in December of 2013 police very quickly found their prime suspects. As many of us are aware, getting from an arrest to a conviction is a long road and doesn't always follow the most straightforward path. For part two, we discuss the arrest of Sidney and Tammy Moorer and their respective trials.

This week I have some real talk with So Heather - Heather Anderson. Heather is a fashion blogger, influencer, and YouTuber. In this episode, we discuss divorce, marriage, and remarriage, blending families, becoming an influencer, staying healthy, and aging gracefully. Heather got into blogging almost ten years ago. Before passing, her father encouraged her to become a Personal Stylist or Wardrobe Consultant. This inspired Heather to start her own business, and the blog followed. She believes that if you dress in a way that makes you feel good and look confident, you can do anything. Not only does Heather share the struggles of divorce, but also what it meant to become a blended family. Heather acknowledges the difficulty in trying to be fair to all children, and how this impacted her marriage. Therapy has helped her manage adjustments within her family life, including becoming empty-nesters and working from home with her husband every day. Heather’s life has also been touched by alcoholism. She discusses this as well as related aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For Heather, it’s important to eat healthily and work out regularly. This is not only for her physical health but for her mental health too. Spending time with family, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company, is Heather’s ideal day. She emphasizes the importance of family and how her mother and father have both played a significant role in her life. When Heather isn’t practicing yoga or hanging out with her family, she’s redefining what the Mom over 40 looks like on her blog and Instagram. I hope you enjoy this real talk with So Heather - Heather Anderson as much as I did! Have you learned to master fear and discomfort to push yourself to places you thought were unreachable? Heather Atkinson thrived for 5 weeks alone in Norway's bitterly cold winter. How did she do it? How does she find comfort and joy in being alone? Heather shares her fascinating journey in this episode of My Extra Mile with David T.S. Wood. You will want to hear this episode if you are interested in... Heather's frigid journey in Norway's winter Understanding the influence of fear Heather's experience with the Wim Hof method Creating a sanctuary in the space that you live The challenges that Heather has navigated How Heather got into network marketing How YOU can live with a joyful heart Heather's journey into Norway's bitterly cold winter Heather wanted to see how far she could push herself, so she went to Norway in the middle of winter—alone. She wanted to answer the questions: How much would you push yourself when you're completely alone in a remote place? What will your mind and body allow with no outside influence? How can you control your fear? So she took 5 weeks to see what she was capable of. She told no one where she was or what she was doing. She didn't need anyone to push her—or congratulate her. Her biggest fear was not being able to completely commit and realizing that she could fail. So she had to push herself every day. She constantly thought: “What will you feel like at the end of the day if you haven't done it?” She didn't want to feel disappointed or mediocre. If she could make it through one day, she could make it through the next. When people set their minds to something, they don't necessarily have an agenda. They just reach their goal with whatever means necessary. Heather did what she set out to do. Embracing the Wim Hof Philosophy Not only did Heather spend 5 weeks alone but every day she spent time buried in the snow—in her bathing suit. How? By training under Wim Hof and following his methods. His courses help people understand their own thresholds. His whole philosophy is to help you understand that you can do anything. You can train your brain to do as it's told and not let fear kick in. The breathing techniques can help your pain receptors turn off. You lower your heart rate and don't feel the cold as intensely. It's built around controlling the breath. Her trip to Norway was her way of taking his courses and putting them into practice. When you're buried in the snow and 100% immersed in the cold, there's a point where you reach a euphoric stage in your brain. Your whole-body tingles, your ears ring, and you feel as if you're going to pass out. You don't feel any pain. She learned to harness that feeling of elation the entire day and then she learned to carry that through her everyday life. The joy she found far outweighed the fear she faced. Live in a state of joy: Find what makes your heart sing Heather grew up in a tough home. At a young age, she vowed that she would never live like that again. She wasn't going to let the little things in life bother her. At 17 she left home and she lived for 10 years in a van. She always told herself she was the luckiest person on the planet—and truly believed it. You can resolve to choose joy. Being able to see the joy in everything is her greatest gift to herself. When Heather is feeling anxious, afraid, or in a negative state of mind she does something physical—she trains hard. She emphasizes that everyone can do something that makes their heart sing. For her, it's something physical. You NEED to take time to find something you find joy in. Find something that makes your heart sing and do it every day. When Heather thought about this series, the FIRST person she thought of was Loni. Loni is a natural story-teller, thinking of stories in new and creative ways. Loni talks Adam & Eve and what it means for us today. ABOUT LONI: Loni Fancher is the Director of Youth at First UMC Arlington, Texas and will never stop being weirded out that God's led her back to serve in her hometown. She spent most of her time at seminary studying faith and contemporary culture because she wants to help people see God at work in the world. Now, Loni spends her time with teenagers and refuses to grow up. Her passion is helping students fall in love with Jesus and make their faith their own. She lives with her two adorable dogs, Desdemona and Mercutio, & has a YouTube channel where she reads novels she thinks everyone should've read by now. On February 17, 2018, Ryan Shtuka was at a house party in Sun Peaks BC and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. This was Ryan’s first time ever away from home on his own. This was out of his comfort zone - he wanted to try a new adventure. Unfortunately this wasn’t an adventure, this was the beginning of a very sad nightmare for Ryan and everyone who loves him. Heather explains from her heart what they have been through since her son Ryan disappeared. Something just doesn't add up. How does a young and healthy bright eyed boy just vanish into thin air? When Heather received the phone call that her precious son Ryan was reported missing, they immediately drove 9.5 hours to Sun Peaks, British Columbia to search for him. In this interview you will hear Heather explain the heartache they have been going through and what she feels could have happened to her missing son. Ryan’s dad’s name is Scott and he has two sisters, Jordyn and Julianna. The Shtuka family miss and love Ryan so much!Immediately after the interview, I felt sad and worried about what could have happened to Ryan and where he is today. Why won’t people speak up? The public can see this family hurting so much, searching non stop and people continue to stay quiet. I am positive there are certain individuals who know what happened to Ryan. One of the saddest things that can happen to a family is to have a child go missing.I admire how Heather is continuously pushing her missing son’s case as she searches for him and for answers. I have seen many beautiful videos that were created with photographs of Ryan since he went missing. Ryan’s family, friends and now strangers love him very much and this is obvious in all the posts I have read about missing Ryan Shtuka. Where is he? What really happened to Ryan Shtuka that night he went missing? Someone has to know the truth out there and we are asking you to come forward with that information. Ryan is 6’ feet tall with a lean build at the time of his disappearance. He has blond hair, brown eyes, and weighed 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, a grey/white shirt, blue coat and a burgundy ball cap. When I look at Ryan’s photographs, I see a young man who had his entire life in front of him. Sparkling bright eyes and a beautiful smile. It hurts me to know he is a missing person. If anyone knows what really happened to Ryan Shtuka back on February 17th, 2018 please call in that information immediately.Kamploops Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) 1-250-828-3000 Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 1-800-222-TIPS.A website is setup for Ryan www.ryanshtuka.comFacebook Group also has been set up: MISSING: RYAN SHTUKAwww.ryanshtuka.com for detailed information and how you can help #findryanshtukawww.canihelpfindyourmissinglovedone.com under TIPS (we will forward the information to Ryan’s mom)

In America, general programming tells us to be in control and fill our space with things, even our minds. In the East, it even appears that we are supposed to control our thoughts with meditation, forcing our focus “back to our breath.” Although this appears to be a form of control, it's actually at its most extreme, a form of mastery. Meditation is a way for us to slow down, create more space, and sit in that space, so that we can gain insight, accept, and respond to life in kind and thoughtful ways. Sitting in a lot of space can be very uncomfortable. Imagine sitting with someone in silence when you're not meditating or doing anything else physical together. Awkward, right? Especially if you don't know someone well, you usually try to fill that space with words, TV or something! So, take that concept one step further. If we're not filling the space or controlling our thoughts, we're just being there allowing things to be as they are. It's a feeling of being present and experiencing pure relaxation, but fear (or whatever else that may be buried) may also naturally come to the surface. When Heather was in my mid-20's, she started dating someone who meditated himself. She'd been curious about it, but was never as called to do it as she was at that moment. He talked to her about the kind of meditation he did, which was called Vipassana or Insight Meditation. At the time, he had been to several retreats that lasted up to a month (10-day and one-month-long retreats being the most common). Heather laughed at the idea of going on a month-long retreat, but started by just sitting and breathing. She would sit for 10 minutes or so once or twice a week, and although it felt really awkward, she just kept at it. Nearly 20 years later, and after several workshops and retreats, Heather meditates now every day (for at least 30 minutes) and sometimes twice, if the day has been difficult. This is what meditation helps her cultivate: Self-acceptance and acceptance of others. Compassion for self and others. Clarity about people and situations – in both my private and professional lives. Emotional/psychological/energetic freedom. Mastery over her own thoughts, feelings, and actions, which includes a shift from knee-jerk reactions to more thoughtful responses. Now, she: Can see things more clearly. she is more grounded. Has greater awareness of where that boundary is between others and myself. Feels more relaxed and connected to herself and others. Can see bullshit really easily and tell when people lie to her. She is able to focus in meetings and do better work, especially work that requires attention to detail. Has a greater sense of well-being, as though everything will be okay. Really sees the humor in herself and situations. It's like a natural, magical practice that leads to greater peace, wisdom and happiness! – says heather Valeria interviews Heather Gwaltney. She offers Mindfulness Meditation sessions for companies and individuals, and provides Organizational and Communications Consulting. She has worked for over 20 years in the private, non-profit, and education sectors, has taught courses at George Mason University, and delivered in-person and online trainings for numerous private companies and non-profits. Heather holds a Masters in Organizational Development and a Bachelors in Psychology with a Business Minor. As a 20-year veteran of meditation and energy work, her certifications include Mindfulness Meditation, Master Level Reiki, and Permaculture Design. Heather's meditation teaching mimics her own journey with the practice. She began practicing Vipassana Meditation, now largely referred to as Mindfulness Meditation, while working in the corporate world. As she continued the practice, she has learned how to apply it both to her personal and professional lives; therefore, works with others to apply it to theirs. She uses a practical, non-religious approach with compassion and humor, and can customize her sessions to meet the needs of her clients. To learn more about Heather D. Mom of 3 and entrepreneur Heather Guyan and her husband were doing everything right. They had two good incomes, contributed to 401Ks and IRAs, and had 529 plans for their three children. Building and furnishing their dream home three years ago was the icing on the cake. However, as credit card debt mounted, and the "little things" kept adding up, they realized they were just getting by, rather than getting ahead. When Heather sat down last November and listed out all the money they owed, she was shocked. Despite having a decent portfolio for retirement, consumer debt was derailing her sense of security, and Heather knew she had to take immediate action. So, Heather and her husband implemented a zero based budget, and paid off over $45,000 in the last 9 months! Their story will inspire you to truly examine where you are, and move forward with confidence if it is time to make a change. Want to watch her journey? Today I share a conversation with my friend, mentor & coach, Heather Chauvin. Heather shares about her journey living through stage 4 cancer, but at the heart, our conversation is about giving yourself permission. Listen in as your host Candace speak with a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner about how to optimize your immune system in the midst of this Covid-19, coronavirus pandemic. Back to the basics of staying healthy. Heather has been treating patients at some level for over 20 years and has been disappointed with patient outcomes using only traditional medicine and ignoring the root of the problem. It is simple to diagnose an illness and prescribe a medication. The challenge is finding where and when the problem occurred and then taking the appropriate steps in changing lifestyle behaviors and creating a personalized plan to achieve ultimate wellness. Heather believes lifestyle medicine needs to be the primary intervention. Without addressing the basic needs: nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress, healing is incomplete. She is very passionate about treating your gut, as it is important for all your body's functions, especially your immune system. Looking at individual food plans and working on improving your microbiome is essential to balance your body and work toward optimal health. Along with the gut, detoxing your body and exploring the potential toxins that can impair health is necessary. Balancing hormones is an essential element in wellness. When chronic health concerns have been ongoing, hormones tend to suffer as a result. Hormones, gut health, and detoxing are all important and must be examined together. When Heather is not working she loves being with her family, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors. https://www.amazon.com/Transformation-Discovering-Wholeness-Healing-Trauma/dp/0062870718/ref=sr_1_2?crid=XXRJ3EU6GEYJ&dchild=1&keywords=the+transformation+james+gordon&qid=1585334006&sprefix=the+transformation%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-2 https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Antioxidant-Supplement-Probiotic/dp/B00280M12U/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1LBLUWPUD5B2&dchild=1&keywords=garden+of+life+vitamin+code+raw+antioxidants&qid=1585334038&s=hpc&sprefix=raw+vitamin+code+anti%2Caps%2C431&sr=1-4 https://www.rawhealthwellness.com

Heather lives in New York with her husband, two children, and four cats – Dora, Geppetto, Sasha and Oreo. After grieving the loss of her mother-in-law and her own mother, she took up writing. When Heather was pregnant with her second child, her mother in law, Laura died suddenly and a year later, Heather’s own mother succumbed to her battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Heather turned to meditation and spirituality to appease her sadness. What followed was peace, serenity and inner calmness. Heather says that if her book helps even one child it’s worth it, but her wish is for it touch and comfort many hearts. Furthermore, she is committed to giving back. She believes we gain far more from giving than we ever can from receiving. A portion of the net proceeds of Heather’s books will be donated to children’s charities. “Angel Grandma” is a must have keepsake for every family A children’s book by Heather Lean, for everyone who believes in keeping memories alive ABOUT THE BOOK: “Angel Grandma” is based on Heather’s mother. Hey there word nerds! Today, I have the pleasure of interviewing H.R. Hobbs. H.R. Hobbs (or Heather Hobbs, as I know her) is the Amazon-bestselling author of a series of compassionate and empowering stories for middle-grade readers. Set in a typical middle school, her books address the topics of belonging, friendship, and bullying. A lifelong learner and teacher, Heather started writing in 2015 as a retirement project. Recently, she began taking art lessons with the hopes of illustrating her own children’s books in the future. Heather is the mother to three grown sons and grandmother to three little darlings. She lives with her husband in the small prairie town where she was born and raised. Also, Heather and I have been part of the same mastermind group for just about two years (shoutout to our third group member Angelica!). For those who don’t know, a mastermind group is basically like a critique group but instead of giving feedback on each other’s writing, we brainstorm around each other’s careers and business plans. When Heather and I first met, she was still teaching and she was juggling her writing alongside a busy teaching schedule. In the years since, she has doubled down on her writing and built a strong career as a self-published author (in a niche that isn’t necessarily easy to break into with self-publishing). I have had the benefit of hearing Heather’s insights pretty much every other week for two years and I am beyond thrilled to have her on the show so she can share her insights with the word nerd community. In this episode Heather and I discuss: Choosing between self-publishing and traditional publishing Successfully self-publishing in the children’s market The freedom of self-publishing Delegating tasks and developing a publishing team Building a launch team Plus, her #1 tip for writers. I’m your host Beth Graves and I am obsessed with helping you to not just dream it, but make the plan, connect the dots and create what you crave. Are you ready? Let’s get started.Hey, Hey, Hey and welcome back to ‘You’re Not the Boss of Me’. You guys. We are just around the corner with this episode from Christmas, from the holiday season, the hustle and bustle of December, and also from the massive amounts of marketing that show you about the brand new weight loss program, the mastermind, the newest and greatest marketing techniques. So today I'm going to share with you, before we get to the end of this episode, some of my takeaways and some of the best advice that I've received from people that have made over $1 million in their online or network marketing business, about the shiny object syndrome, the persistence and sticking with something just long enough to have success. I know that you may have fallen prey, like many of you, I still go to the grocery store. I love grocery shopping. It's something that I love. I love to go in the produce section.I'm not a great cook, many of you know that, and I love to go to the grocery store. So one of the pieces, when I look at my schedule and before the end of the year, we're going to be talking, make sure you tune in next week because this is our focus about your 24 hour plan. About your 12 month plan, choosing words and themes and all of those good things for how you can have a focus and an emphasis for the coming year in 2020, how we reflect on 2019. We're going to be doing a lot of that on the podcast over the next few weeks, but also over in camp elevate. So before we kick off the podcast today, if I haven't met you yet, my name is Beth Graves. I had this idea while standing at the gym, what if I started having this podcast because I love having conversations with women?I love it. The interaction that comes from these conversations I've met over the last, I think we launched this podcast, I'm going to say six weeks ago. And I can't even tell you how grateful I am for you, our loyal listeners, for the shares. Because of your share, I've had women reach out to me and just tell me about a shift, a shift that they've had in their life. And so I'm going to have a little share contest with you all today if you're listening, and I would love for you to share this with someone that's on your mind, who comes to mind that you know who really wants to have success in their business, is tired of juggling, of having the sacrifice of, of not being totally present in their marriage with their children or they're missing out on the girls' night because they think they've got to hustle and grind, or they're just feeling an unsupportive circle. And let them know, I thought of you today and I want to send this your way. I want to share with you a review, because one of the things that, and this is where this podcast is going today, we're going to talk about the shiny object syndrome and picking up the women's world magazine at the counter, and how that influences your business. And I'm going to share with you a lot of ways that it's influenced my business. Just thinking something's not working, jumping from thing to thing, when actually right before us is our success. And you have it right now, right before you, even if 2019 didn't have the numbers that you thought you would see in your business, or maybe it did, you have with you at this minute the answer to how things are going to shift for you in 2020. And sometimes it's just leaning into yourself, trusting yourself, putting on your blinders. But there are a couple of things that I'm going to point out that I hope can help you today. So a big, big piece of staying on the train for whatever you're doing, okay? We know and we hear it all the time. You're only as great as those five people that you surround yourself with.So in today's episode, I want you to think about an area of your life in 2019 that may have not gone to what you expected. Was it? I'm going to be in the best shape of my life. Was it? I'm going to hit blah bidy, blah bidy rank, and make multiple six figures. Was it? I'm finally going to launch that coaching business, or maybe grow a Facebook community, or maybe you had thought I'm going to go out and provide service or tithe more, or maybe it was growing your marriage. As you reflect on 2019 I encourage you to not beat yourself up. I do this a lot in the fitness category, in my health category. To say, Oh gosh, look, it's so and so, look what she did in 2019. Well, honestly, I'm going to look at 2019 for my health and say I'm in the best health of my life.Well, maybe not the best health of my life. I don't know. I can't compare. I don't have the metrics, but I'm going to say, what have I done for my health and I'm going to list those things. Had the mammogram, I've gone to my wellness visits, I've cut out for the most part, refined sugar. For the most part, I've cut out diet soda. I stayed with my nutritional supplement routine every single day and have a healthy gut. So instead as you look at 2019, and we're going to talk about shiny object syndrome and how we get off track, and we're going to do more of this next episode. And we're also doing a ton of this over at Camp Elevate, which is our free Facebook community, of taking a look at your business, what you're doing for pleasure, for the things that just give you joy, what you're doing with your family and each member of your family, the relationships, what we're doing for our health, and what we're doing for our spiritual and for like our, our brain and our spiritual, our how we raise our vibration and how we take care of that?Just like we do our physical health. So when you look at those areas in 2019 instead of being like, Oh my gosh, I suck, totally suck. My business sucks. I didn't do anything right. It gave up. I can't even watch these people that are having success. No, no, no, not allowed. You are not allowed to beat yourself up. You need to say, how does love look? So let's just cut out all the crap of the goals that we didn't meet, because I do it to myself too. And just ask yourself this question. How does love look in this situation? You my friend, are listening to this podcast today, that means that you are engaged in making yourself better. That you thought, I'm gonna listen to this chick and I'm gonna see if today I can walk away with some ideas. So let's make a pact with ourselves.Let's not beat ourselves up for what didn't happen in 2019, and let's look with gratitude and with love with what did happen in 2019. Because we don't know if we hadn't done maybe the three or four things, what could have happened, which may have be an outcome that was much less desired than the outcome that you have. So I want to share with you something, one of the biggest pieces of life, right, of success. Making sure that you are not engaging, that you're making a pact with yourself. So we know people give up too early. People don't do the 1%. We know those things. And we're going to talk about that. We're going to talk about how we quit before we're ready to have success. Because when we just process that, when we just think about it in a little bit different way, with a little bit different angle, you're going to start to notice, okay, this fits me.So I want you to really today, think about who's in your circle. We hear it all the time. If you surround yourself with people that have a high vibration, that have high energy, I have friends that have higher vibration and are totally freaking amazing humans, but every time I'm with them I feel like I totally suck. So here's an example of something I used to do. You guys think about this, about times of your life. I have times of my life when I was fit enough to put on a bikini and walk across down the beach, and really have low percentage of body fat look great. I did the work okay? It did the work, this was years ago and I still didn't have the ability to love myself enough because I wasn't working on the other parts, which were the visualization, the self love, the breathing exercises, the ways that we stop negative self talk. Can you guys relate to this? So one of the things that I would do, this is a little tiny thing, is I have a friend, and many of you may know her. If you're listening, and her name is Heather. I was a young mom and I met Heather and I would go to Heather's house and Heather always, it always smelled beautiful. She's got this beautiful ability to put a stack of books on a shelf and make it just look like, I don't know, that Martha Stewart had been to her house yesterday. If you want to follow her on Instagram, it's @HW Interiors. When Heather was looking at shifting, when their life was shifting, and her husband was in a career transition from polo, she decided to take what she loved and turn it into a career. And I'm going to share about that. But the point of this part of the story is, whenever I was around Heather, I felt, and still do, I feel empowered. I feel a walk away. She's engaged, she looks at you. She's never uses negative words. She's not that bitching person that's like, did you see this? Did you see that? She just always has kind and nice and good things to say. And she always is. She's just has this beautiful spiritual foundation. And I always used to laugh and say I'm going to, I have to become friends with her, because I got to find something that's wrong. And I found that Heather, no matter what her circumstance, she never was out of gratitude for it. So when Heather was, when they were having a career transition in their family, as many of us have done, getting the tuition for school paid for, it was really, really important because one of the cool things about where our kids went to school was, if you have a parent that drives the bus, it was half tuition. And she said to me, I was just starting in Network Marketing and she didn't understand the vision that I had, and knowing what I could do with it because you know, she had watched me start a million businesses that basically were like two time wonders, right?Because I quit too early. I didn't invest in the circle of people that would give me success. I didn't stay the plan. I didn't do the daily work and I didn't have the mindset to keep myself in check when I started to have doubts, but this time was different. She didn't know that. She was just like, Hey, you know what? Grab a bus position. Well, I run over gas tanks pulling campers, so there's like no way I could drive a bus. And most people that went from a pretty cushy life and then driving the bus for their kids would turn that into a like, Oh my gosh, can you believe I have to take my CDL? Can you believe I have to drive this bus? Can you believe this? Oh my gosh, this totally sucks. Nope, not Heather. She even drove the bus with grace, and with optimism. She puts some essential oils on the seats on the cold Florida mornings. There might be a little blanket. She made her bus the best freaking bus in the world because every child that got on that bus, she said to me this, she said, I have the opportunity in 15 minutes, 20 minutes in 30 minutes to be that voice that helps them to go out and do great things. And how cool it that I have the opportunity to have half tuition. She's now a very, very successful interior designer. Her book is sold out. It is hard to even get a consult with her. And she had started that business back when she was doing the bus, but that was what she needed to do to get off the ground. She even does Network Marketing as a small piece of residual income each month, because she loves the product and she loves saying this. Not everybody who has an interior design vision wants to start that big business. But I can suggest this product, I can suggest the business to people and support them in their entrepreneurial journey. So my point with Heather is this, I used to go to Heather's house and I would be like, Oh my gosh, it's amazing. She of course has this beautiful ability, beautiful ability to make the surrounding, and she also has like no clutter. She loves clean. And then I would walk back in my house, this is back when the kids were little and I would be a total witch. I would walk in and the laundry room, it would be a mess. There would be, we lived on a farm like you know, some dust on the floor. Not like we didn't have a, you know, a farm house. When I say there's dirt on the floor from the farm, we'd walk in and out. And I would walk in and I would be critical because, we were spending money on horses and going to horse shows, and living in an RV in the summers, and like really a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful life that we had grown around.Something that we loved, and I was living out of gratitude at the time. I've had this conversation with my husband where I have apologized because I was so into that moment of, I'd walk in and let the little things get under my skin, like the laundry on the floor. Shifting that in 2020, and shifting that, what shifted in my life was not comparing to Heather's house, it was perfect, but taking notes and saying, how do I want my environment to be? How can I make small changes? So this happens. But walking in and saying, Oh my gosh, isn't it incredibly amazing that my husband threw in a load of laundry, just because he didn't do it the way I wanted him to do it, that the clean laundry was on the floor? Or isn't this an incredible and beautiful existence that I have on this farm? And he said to me once, and this really hit me, it's never enough, and that my friends is one of the most painful memories that I have. I get teary eyed thinking of it because how in the world did I allow myself to finally get the things, things that most people are praying for? And you have those in your life right now. You do. I promise you you do. How did I allow myself to stop seeing the blessings of the small things? Because the little complaints, the little ways that we compare, the moments that you walk in and you snap, of course a lot of things can be going on of course, but when those thoughts become negative, your vibration, your energy, just being with you doesn't feel great. And how is that affecting the one that you've chosen to marry or your partner or your children? So I ask you this, who's getting the best view and how are you showing up? So when I would surround myself with Heather, I looked and when I started to evolve I decided, and this is the thing, you can't just grab a book and say, and this is about consistency, but it's also again about the 1%, it's about being able to have a consistent way that when you find yourself going on that spiral, how do you get yourself back in check? How do you say stop? And I say that out loud. When I find myself having, I walk in my garage, you guys my garage in 2020 I'm putting it out there. It's going to be, there's going to be a workout area. It is going to feel like, and I'm telling you guys, Heather had, when I met her, her garage, I still see the vision she had...like this woman, I want you to go over there and follow her on Instagram.I don't think she's listening to this podcast yet. So, Hey Heather! This podcast was not going to be a story of Heather, but it's turning into it and I'm loving it. So Heather had this tree in her garage, for you young moms, I've got to get Heather to put up a picture. I'll put up a picture on Facebook. She took spray styrofoam, it was up against the wall. And in Florida we don't have basements. So some people turn their garages into playrooms for their kids because they need that space. And that's what she had done. And anyway, sprays styrofoam and there were like silk little leaves and things that you could touch that would, that would make little noises. I mean, talk about comparisonitis. I'm this new mom in South Florida meeting new friends, and she's 10 years younger than me. So I was like, I had my babies a little bit later. And because you know, that was my blessing, was I had all this time instead of looking at the journey of, there's a lot that happened for me to have, especially Donnie, that's another episode. But instead of thinking about that blessing. So you know, I'm like, here I am in South Florida, she's 29 I'm 39 I have this one year old baby and I'm, this is a side note you guys, you'll laugh. I went to a kickboxing class, I had just had a baby and I'm there with someone 10 years younger than me. And here we go, comparing ourselves to others. How about Hey, I met kickboxing and I have this, this great new friend. I'm not going to compare the fact that I'm wearing like five sports bras and I am completely like not perky kickboxing girl. So anyway, I digress. So when you are making this decision, it's the small things that are going to allow that vision to happen. And we know how this works. So first of all, this story of Heather started with, surround yourself with people that uplift you and inspire you. But if you start to feel that every time I'm with them, I walk away and I can't stop myself from thinking I'm not enough. It's okay to either work on some mindset, work on some shifts, or during that season to maybe not spend time because it's not a healthy thing for you. Or, have that conversation. Like I could've said to Heather, every time I walk into my house X, Y, and Z. Well, you know what, Heather had routines and rituals in place that we're very structured about how that house was. She had invested in extra help. She does a thing where like she buys some, I'm sure, she buys something new, something goes out. And one time I said to her, and here's the thing Heather, I'm like overwhelmed with my closet and as a good friend would, she and Lisa came over in the beginning of their business. They had extra days and yep, call in the troops so they knew how to organize and clean a closet, edit, make me get rid of the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. And we laughed so hard. That is still one of my favorite days of those friend memories. So surround yourself with people, and if they have a super talent that you don't have and you're looking to make a shift, ask for help. All right, ask for help. How do you do that? How do you keep that in your life and then decide if that's important to you. Decide, I'm going to adopt a routine and ritual in my life and I'm going to stick with it for longer than two minutes. So most of us have the shiny object syndrome when it comes to a successful business idea. Even in Network Marketing business, an online business, we think, okay, I'm going to do all these things.I'm going to launch this and then it's going to be amazing. And when I don't have success, I'm going to blame the actual diet or the actual business plan or the actual strategy. So how does this connect to what my house looked like and felt like when I would walk in? Well, I didn't know at that time. I didn't understand. I was always a pretty high vibe person and I always used running and exercise as a way to get my head in the right place. I understood the idea of needing to be on the tennis court, but I didn't have the full picture of how important it was for me to not have negative self talk, not be in a state of gratitude for longterm. How that affects a relationship and affected when I would say things like, in that moment of, nothing seems to ever satisfy you or make you happy, and that was a total reflection of me not doing the work consistently.Yeah, and you look back and I think when was I the best? When I consistently practiced Yoga, when my friend Maryanne, you guys, if you're in Camp Elevate, you heard about Maryanne and the Lululemon's story. That was a really fun story. She got me going to Yoga and I didn't realize I did that for three and a half years before Yoga, it was just Vinyasa Yoga, was just taking off. But my mindset and my gratitude and all of those pieces were in place because I had that practice and I didn't know yet. I was evolving as an entrepreneur, evolving and what I like to call a, you know, a present mindful human. I didn't understand that, that practice, that consistency when I left it, because we came to Florida and I couldn't find a studio, and I didn't stick with it. I jumped into something new, I jumped over to CrossFit.I didn't stick with it long enough. So finding those practices that you can commit to in 2020 that you say, I am not just a one time wonder. I watched this happen all the time in Network Marketing. Someone will come into a business and the leave, and for some people it's not a fit, but they'll leave and they'll say, well it didn't work. But the people that stay with a business over time, and maybe their race, or their their climb, or their focus. It wasn't like mine was, which I had massive amounts of action very early in my business because I really, really had vision for hitting that topper and give the company multiple six figures in the seven figure Mark. But what about those people that over five years consistently show up to the business and have two to three conversations a day and consistently show up once a week to learn more about how to grow their business? But they make that commitment. They show up, they show up, they show up, they show up. How about this? Have any of you started a gratitude journal and then you do it for three or four days? You put it aside because you say, I'm still feeling like I'm in a negative spiral. It's not working. I listened to that podcast with Danelle, it's Networking. It's because you haven't gone far enough. You haven't created the habits and the rituals yet. I do it all the time. So how about those people that you run into and you see them and they've had this miraculous physical transformation and you've lost and gained? You know, like I'm saying you, because every time I say you it relates to me as well, the same 12 and a half pounds, or you're still at the same point, but you've tried 16 different things and you're sitting there and I'm going to talk about seeing, you know, I'm at the grocery store, I see the women's world magazine.I still will buy a magazine. I'm still tempted. And the number one Keto tip for women that helped Tina lose 341 pounds without surgery. So do you go from saying, I'm going to give up eating sugar for 92 days, like sugary treats? I'm going to replace that with Greek yogurt and I'm going to perhaps stop eating after seven, and up my water and move my body 30 minutes and committing to that for let's say 222 days? Or I've done this. You go, Oh my gosh. Well, if Tina lost her 341 pounds, I'm gonna spend $2 and 25 cents for this magazine that literally I could Google everything in it, and I'm going to jump ship, I'm going to do this. And then we do it for a few days and we get, it doesn't work because it's too restrictive. So, off we go to something new. So let's do this for 2020 let's decide that we're going to commit. All right, so just do the thing. Why does Weight Watchers work for some people? Why does Keto work for some people? Because those are the people that show up that decide that it's not just a two week plan. So being successful in business, most people will say it's a five year plan. Many of you have told me I started a podcast and they didn't have the downloads. Well, you didn't stay with it long enough. I'm not going to be, well, I can. Let's do it. Download today. Share this out. Remember we're having a share chain with this podcast. I have vision. I can have this podcast look like Rise, right? With Rachel Hollis. So, but it's a five year plan and then sticking to it, and I'm talking. So here are the things that need to happen is decide that you're persistent. I'm persistent, I stay with things. But before we know what we have to stay with, you got to know what we want. What's the plan? So as you go into 2020 and as you look at 2019 for me, it's so clear when I am at a high level of connection with my husband, with my kids, with my friends, I'd have to work on that. I have to not complain when I walk in the door. I have to look and say, what a beautiful life we've built. You know what? I'm going to have my garage. I have this vision for it. It's never going to be perfect. But what a beautiful thing that I've got that I'm going to be able to put a Peloton in my garage. I'm not getting the Peloton until I have the garage ready. That's like my reward. So have a plan that says this could take time. And that's okay because the journey is a beautiful piece. So every time you're taking a step, think about, gosh, I went for, you know, go for a run. How about if I had continued with that Yoga practice? I continued to say, you know what? I'm going to continue to do this Yoga practice to practice over time. I would now be in my Yoga mode for 19 years, and I think about, I wish I had, but then I'm like, okay, so how do I move forward with that? I want to have flexibility. I want to have that time. I love Shavasana. I love how I feel. I love the connection. So 2020 how does that look? It might not be seven days a week, an hour and a half in Yasa it might be, but if I want that instead of looking back with regret, I think about what could have happened if for 19 years I had continued that practice. So we have to really take an assessment and look, and that comes through journaling and I'm telling you, it's about love. It's about grace. Because instead of saying, Oh, I suck. I didn't keep with that Yoga practice. I could be so flexible, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I'm going to talk about, look at all of the things that when I didn't, my dog is snoring in the background. You guys, hello Yogi. Look at all of the things that I was able to do during that time. I made room for tennis in my life and the women that I've met in tennis, I've got to say, okay, I made room for a big, vibrant, healthy business. I made room for all of the things in the community of Camp Elevate, so that's just a sidetrack, so have a long term plan. Know that you are going to grow a five year plan. You are ultimately responsible for that success. Yes, you can have people in your circle that allow you to have the accountability meeting, your friend Abra at Yoga, having the accountability. Maybe you're in a free Facebook group. Maybe you have a great leadership group. Maybe you decide to put a mastermind together, but ultimately, if I'm going to record this podcast, it's my responsibility. Jody, who's an amazing podcast coach, and I'm going to share all of her things out with you and how you can connect with her. If you want to have a podcast or even like, she's a business strategist around podcasts and teaching women to rise in their confidence. But what I want you to think about is this, is ultimately I'm up. It's five in the morning. This was supposed to be to Jody last night. I'm up recording because ultimately if I want to commit to five years of content in a podcast, I've got to get her the goods, but I have to have a team to do it because I know myself, in my strength finder, and we're going to do the Strength Finder assessment over in Camp Elevate with all of the details of putting this out.It wouldn't happen. So I decided this is the team that's in place to help me with the podcast. How that would look in terms of financially, in terms of making sure the routines and rituals in place so that I produce the content because my five year plan is that my Profit Her Way program will continue. There's an alarm and you can tell it's morning cause you can hear the alarm going off and I'm just going to leave those things so that you can hear, Oh my goodness, it's still going up. That's okay. So that you can hear what happens in my house cause it's now time for people to start waking up there. The alarm is off. To have a podcast when you're at home and knowing I'm not going to be perfect. This is going to have great editing. You're gonna hear great things.Yeah. So knowing that it is a five year plan, understanding that the ultimate success is up to me. But you have to have a team, right? You have to have a team celebrating the wins. Like last night I celebrated. We've had so many downloads and so many reviews. Can I ask again? Sometimes I feel like when I ask you to share, I'm like, share my podcast, share my thing, and then when I get the messages, please DM me. Please put this up in your stories that tell me that. That helped me make a shift in my business that that interview that you did helped me so much. That note makes me know that the community is looking for us. Okay, how do we handle those setbacks when we ourself dipping? What do you have in place for those setbacks? So for me, when Stephanie Brett doesn't hear from me for very long, because she's my community for my health and wellness with Bridgette, and when she doesn't hear from me, she'll say, what? You know, let me know how I can help you. Because we were doing the same workouts at the gym from afar. We're also working on, you know, getting rid of some of the toxins and I have, you know, that I can show up vulnerably and not feel judged and always say, how does love feel? Those are the things that you need to have in your business. And your relationships in that support network, but knowing what do you do when you feel that, yep, that support network and also you guys having integrity in your business and in your life and how you approach things when you go by a no. Most of you have read the Four Agreements and when you lead your life with saying, I'm absolutely positively not going to be, I'm going into this negative spiral, into this judgmental spiral, for other people. And when you feel yourself doing that, pulling yourself out of it and having routines and rituals in place that keep you on track to have those successful dreams. What happens is this, people look and say, Oh, I'm going to go over and maybe they'll say, I'm going to work with Beth in her mastermind this year. I'm going to make that investment this year and three or four things happen and you can't show up, or you try a few things, and I've done this, like I've worked with coaches, I've worked with mentors, I've worked with programs. If I, and I always think, if I would have consistently put out the content, Jody told me you guys, five years ago. I connected with Jody and she was helping me with a different way that I was putting out content and it didn't fit my vibe. It didn't fit what I wanted to do with building women up, and I love the camp environment, and events, and working in masterminds, and the way that I'm doing it now, and I love how I've built my Network Marketing business alongside of it. A lot of that comes from just making that decision. And she had talked about podcasting and I was like, I didn't even know podcasting. I didn't research it. It wasn't a fit for me at the time. And I said to her last night, gosh, what if we had started this podcast five years ago? Because every time I have an episode, you guys, I make some incredible connections. Whether they're just new friends, new people, I'm inspiring new people that are saying, I want to work with you and your mastermind, or I want to come to Camp Elevate, or I want to take a look at working with you in Network Marketing, whatever it is. Or the other thing is I am a master connector. And so I know that when I connect people, so I've helped a lot of people start podcasts by connecting them to Jody. Not because it's something for me, but it's when I can connect someone, uplift, inspire, guess what happens? All is good in the world. All is well in the world. All is beautiful in the world, because when somebody else is succeeding, when we raise someone else up and we celebrate another woman, we have done the trickle effect. So over in Camp Elevate, we're doing so much of this, and it's a free group. And Robyn Benson, I met her, because I decided while I was on a lifestyle getaway that I had earned, and I was going to the beach and I was doing a workout, and there I met Robin and we've been friends, and she's great. She's just a great camper over in Camp Elevate because of her energy. And I want to read to you today what she wrote about being Camp Elevate, and want to ask you to join us in that community, so that as we go through the end of the year, my focus in 2020 in that group are going to be the things that we talked about to do those celebrations, to find out what are the ways that things need to shift in your life so you can have gratitude, not let the little things bother you. What are some of what we'll be doing? A lot of strategy for business and what feels right and aligned with your business. Because if it's not a strategy, like podcasting is so right for me for content, it feels right and aligned. I love it. But what I was doing before didn't feel aligned. I didn't like it. I was doing like trying to do some YouTube content around just teaching strategy and I'm totally not just a strategy chick and it didn't feel right. So I stopped. I mean if I would've continued, I would have grown a following and there are people that do that and I would have grown content, it would have grown my business. So we're going to do that in Camp Elevate. If you really, really, really want to dial it in and you really want to focus on that and you're like, I am ready for a mentor or a coach, I'm going to tell you to reach out to me, either DM me on Instagram or go to BethHoldenGraves.com/profit.Because inside of my mastermind community we are going to like really, really, really put these things into place. So in Camp Elevate, this is what Robin said, and I just want to thank her because, you guys, if you're around me for 10 seconds, you know that I cry in 10 seconds. But I just had tears when she wrote this and she said; "While talking with a good friend today who was another woman entrepreneur, I realized how much my attitude about myself and my vibration has improved and elevated since coming to camp. Sometimes we don't realize how far we have come, when the progress is baby steps. Just like today's episode. Thank you Beth. And all of the amazing camp counselors who have shared wisdom and tips and also all of you campers providing the encouragement in this community. This is truly a special group of humans."How amazing is that? And with that, I want to invite you to come on over. It's the CampElevateGroup.com. You'll go right into the Facebook group and, but let me know you're coming in, let me know, Hey, I want to come in. Because nobody likes to come to camp and not know where the cabin is, right? So we've got a lot of things planned for 2020 inside of the free group. The connections that I wanna make with you of some of the most awesome and amazing guides and people that will be on this podcast with me. We're going to do an in person summer camp. We've got the Profit Her Way mastermind. But most importantly, I want you to look at 2020 as your opportunity to find what feels aligned, to have gratitude, to have the highest energy and excitement vibration around what it is that you're doing, but most importantly finding what works for you and then sticking it out.Like we can't jump from thing to thing and think that we're ever going to have success. So if cold messaging with with a script doesn't feel right for you, we know we need to build our business in a way that we have more conversations. Maybe you're going to create a wellness in person event that happens once a month where you bring women together. Maybe that's what your plan will be to meet and talk to new people. But we have to think about how does that feel? How does that look? How does it feel in your life? So just like my closet that needed to have a transformation, I had to call in my friends who are so good at editing, getting rid of clutter, folding things, all of those pieces. Yeah. Just like when I knew I needed some help in an area, in an area that wasn't my high vibe.Big strength. That's what we do together in Camp Elevate. We connect, we inspire, we encourage, we show up. So show up for yourself and as you look at the areas of 2019 think about all of the pieces that happened on the journey along the way. Even if the ultimate goal that you had thought would happen, think about the journey and have gratitude for that journey. I thank you so much for being with me today. Next week we are going to really dive into some of those ways that we can reflect, and some of those ways that we can move forward with the theme for the year. Not just necessarily, I'm not like a, my personality type and my level of how I process isn't always like a black and white goal, but a theme, an area of how I want things to look in 2020, and we are going to do that together. So with that I want to share with you. Yeah. Okay, a final quote that I think is really going to help you as you move forward. Well, it's not a quote, it's basically it's, I saw it on Instagram and it was on somebody's site. Her name is Mally Roncal, M. A. L L. Y. R. O. N. C. A. L. she has a great, I get inspired every time I go to her Instagram and it's kinda long, but I want to read it to you. "To protect my energy. It is okay to change my mind to protect my energy. It is okay to cancel an appointment to protect my energy. It is okay to take a day off to protect my energy. It is okay to not answer that call to protect my energy. It is okay to not share myself to protect my energy. It is okay to do nothing, to protect my energy. It is okay to be alone, to protect my energy. It is okay to sleep in, to protect my energy. It is okay to speak up to protect my energy. It is okay to move on to protect my energy. It is okay to let go, to protect my energy. It is okay to change." Amen.So with that, you guys go out there and crush it today. Please share this out with someone. You think that you know that as you close, your eyes really needs to have you say, Hey, I got you. I got you, I got you, boo. All right, I'll chat with you guys all next Monday when the next episode drops, I'm looking to interview Santa Claus. Today on the podcast, Sean speaks with Heather Soukup about a Disciple Making Map for birth to 18 years. When Heather’s group was first putting this together they met to identify spiritual moments that they want their families to pay attention to as the students grow up. Using a map like this can help a ministry to organize how they will minister to their different age groups. After putting together various pieces of information from various locations they were able to put together discipling through the stages classes. This information would be able to help a leader put together strategies to answer some of the basic questions that specific age ranges would be asking and how to bring God into that conversation. These were set up in milestones. Heather explains some of the milestones on their list, child dedication, gospel conversations, baptism and communion, bible skills and purity and identity. This helped to set up parent classes and design what curriculum works best based on the various milestones. If you would like more information from Heather her is her contact information. When Heather popped into my DMs on Instagram, I knew she was special. There was something about her that was real, vulnerable and I knew she had a story to tell. One thing that I love about Heather is that she tells it likes it is, has a passion for making an impact on the world and shares her story because she knows it may help someone, even if it is just one person. Before we get into the show I wanted to tell you a little bit more about Heather Chauvin, the creator of the Mom Is In Control Podcast. On her podcast, she reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, parenting her 3 boys, living through stage 4 cancer, navigating marriage and creating business success without burning out. With new podcasts every day, Heather draws on her experience as a former Social Worker, mental health advocate and inspirational speaker, giving women permission to live more, drop the guilt and ask for what they need. Heather has been featured on The Huffington Post, The OWN Network, CTV, Real Simple Magazine, The Jenny McCarthy Show and interviewed by many notable podcasters and radio shows. Her motto is "in order to raise happy, calm and confident children, we must become the person we most desire them to be." I mean, who couldn't agree with that. right? About the authors Heather Townsend is THE global expert in helping professionals make partner in practice. When Heather swopped corporate life for business ownership she was pretty naive when it came to selling and marketing her services. (And, she’s not being modest here either). When she looked around for books and resources to help her simply win business as someone who sold her time for money, using up-to-date marketing tools without her feeling sleazy or compromising her integrity, she couldn’t find any. Yes, there were great books written on professional services marketing for in-house marketing experts. There were also great books written for B2B professionals but written before the advent of social media. Jon Baker is the guy you go to when you want to grow your small firm from 5 to 50 people. He has trained sales teams across Europe, designed and delivered hundreds of workshops for different audiences at every level of a professional practice or business, presented to audiences from the National Indoor arena to lively breakfast meetings and seminars for small businesses. Even though they all diligently followed the same advice. What was the missing ingredient? The authors discovered that winning business, particularly by referral or inbound methods such as social media, isn’t about how hard you work or the amount of pressing the flesh you do, but about how big a fish you are in a small pond. Yes, it’s not about trying to be all things to all people, it’s actually about focusing on a nicheand tailoring your offering so you become irresistible to your ideal client. The book that teaches you how to grow your reputation, differentiate yourself, and win new business for your professional practice, firm and small business. Links Download chapter one of the book and other resources at https://gotoexpert.co.uk/ BIG IDEA 1 (5:14) – Figure out your niche. Who are you solving problems for and what problems are you solving for them? This book talks to those who are in professional services or running a small business as professional. Knowing your niche helps you position and package your services to your market. It helps you say ‘no’ to work or to things that are not helping your target audience or your brand. It also helps your brand because it makes you become the go-to expert in that field. This book also talks about how figuring out and building your niche helps you build strategic alliances. It helps you find people in your network who you can team up with to do bigger work together. It also helps people know what they can get from you and therefore makes it easier to buy from you. BIG IDEA 2 (8:18) – Get your systems and processes running. Throughout the book there is an underlying topic of automating or systemising your process. This helps you smooth your days and save time, money and generally improve consistency. This could include your content plan for social media or website updates. Know who need around you and delegate to keep things going and move in the right direction. Where do you need to outsource some tasks, even if it requires a little bit of initial investment? The book also talks about being intentional in knowing who goes into your sales funnels. What does your sales funnel look like? Another part of getting your systems and processes running is networking. What are the best events and who do you want to be hanging out with? What do you want to get out of the experience? All of these processes should be helping you instead of holding you back. BIG IDEA 3 (10:40) – Content is Queen. It’s easy to become shy about sharing your ideas for fear of people stealing them. Or could be fear of people not liking them or sharing them or people not going to your events. Think about how you are going to be known for what you know. It’s about attracting, finding and retaining clients through your content. It also helps you legitimise yourself, particularly if you get invited to events to talk about what you know. The books also talks about generating, recycling (aka repurposing) and curating content; you don’t have to create everything from scratch, but you need to have a plan. This links to your processes about planning and scheduling your content. Ultimately great content helps you build trust, relationships and connection because you can start a conversation with someone about a topic you’re both interested in. When you tell your kids the story of how they came to be, is the woman who delivered them identified by a face and a name? That’s a decision that every gay dad has to make when it comes to having kids through surrogacy or adoption. In this episode we explored two ways of keeping in touch with the birthmother (for adoptive kids) or the gestational surrogate (for IVF and surrogacy) as part of gay dads’ children's birth story. Some adoptive parents choose to have an 'open adoption,’ where the child gets to meet the birthmother. Parents who go through surrogacy sometimes keep in touch with the surrogate and have their kids meet her when they are old enough. Relationship with the Surrogate There are some dads whose surrogacy journey ties them emotionally to their surrogate—as a result a lifetime friendship is developed; for others, the relationship with the surrogate dissolves due to distance and… life. Heather Manoijlovic, a two-time surrogate for gay dads and a surrogate coordinator at Circle Surrogacy, spoke from her experience and from the experience of working with other surrogates about the type of relationships and expectations between surrogates and intended parents. ‘Are You My Birthmother?’ Erik Alexander from New Orleans (AKA ‘NOLA Papa’) blogs about his and his husband’s choice to pursue open adoption with their eldest daughter. Despite fears of reunifications (child being returned by a court to the birth parents), the couple were open to the possibility of having their child’s birthmother in some sort of touch with them. When they were matched, it was pretty clear that a large part of the birthmother’s choice was for her child to be adopted by a gay couple. This was not only because her brother is gay, but also, as Ethan Cohan mentioned in the previous episode of our podcast, some women seek to maintain their ‘mother’ status by making sure no other parent will be called ‘mom’ by the adoptive child. Erik and his husband’s adoption process was supposed to take 5 years but was actually completed in 3.5 weeks! In our interview he talked about his fear, his ability to be honest with his daughter and also about what happened when their daughter figured out who her birthmother was. Our Guests Erik Alexander is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and is married to the love of his life, Douglas. Together 11 years, they adopted their 2 beautiful daughters, Alli Mae in December of 2015 (open adoption) and Ella in May of 2017 and their lives have been in hyperdrive ever since. Whether it is baby proofing, parenting hacks or navigating through this crazy world, Erik is excited to share his journey. You can also find his blog at Nolapapa.com"My hope is that through my blog I am able to bury my insecurities, my fears, and my failures- for all to read, in hopes to see my weaknesses sprout and transform into self improvement, resilience, and embrace an unapologetic renewal. My past helped make me who I am today- but who I am tomorrow depends on how I choose to get there, today." Heather Manojlovic is a two time experienced gestational carrier living with her tight knit family of four in Northeast Indiana. Heather has a passion for helping others and loves walking amazing women through the surrogacy process within her role at Circle Surrogacy as a Surrogate Coordinator. Heather's unique perspectives on surrogacy have been featured on Gays with Kids. When Heather isn't advocating for surrogacy she can usually be found enjoying a good Netflix binge and snuggling her Great Dane. "I just felt like the wrong mother for the job." Was the quote that rocked the world of Heather Maltman this week, from Chloe Maxwell. How one woman could achieve as much as this one has, and still feel like a failure is a real wake up call. When Heather arrived in Chloe and Matt Rogers home, she was welcomed into their Gold Coast abode with strawberries and coffee. The two women walked into the "Den", filled with leather couches and life time achievements. Chloe was so honest and hilarious about her life and career. From her father being an Elvis impersonator to her own work on Jabba's Morning Glory. She he speaks so electrically about her marriage to a football star, being a mother/ step mother, and about those times you just think you're screwing it all up. The questions Heather posed to Chloe were about how you keep going, and working, when it just feels like you cannot make it better?
Imagine waking up in hospital after being asleep too long and not knowing why you are there. Your foot is bandaged into a point. Family have flown across the country to be by your side. But the last ting you remember is going to a UNI party, and the world being at your feet. When Heather first met Mon Murphy she was giving a talk to the Girl's Who Glow initiative, about how she fell from a 5th floor balcony and lived to tell the tale. The two became fast friends as Mon recounted her ordeal of deciding to let Dr's take her foot. How she had to re learn how to walk and regain confidence. In life, it's so easy to get carried away by mundane little issues and gripes. So off goes Maltz on a little trip to Brisvagas (Brisbane, QLD) at Mon's little abode. Her kitty cat Rio is causing all kinds of trouble as they eat banana bread, and chat all things "life choices" and the "shoulda coulda woulda's". Mon really helps you remember that you have to chose where to put your focus, as relives that moment for us in the hospital. She opens up with us about what it was like to walk to her bother for the first time, winning silver, and deciding not to let this moment define her.
"My loved ones knew they were dying, and all three of them told me. When Heather said, "Mommy, I'm going to die this year," I heard, but I didnt' listen. when Holly jotted her note on the way toward her transplant surgery, when she told us she'd be fine with her sister, her granmother, and God, I heard. But I didn't listen. And when Tim, her husband said, "I'm getting ready to blow my brains," I heard yet didn't believe it. I am so honored and humbled to have my guest, Terry Jones-Brady on my show. Terry is the Nautilus Book Award Winner for her book, "A Mosaic Heart...Reshaping the Shards of a Shattered Life." She is a wife, a mother, an educator, an actess, and a strong and deeply spiritual person. Terryis real, authentic, and as heart breaking as her story is, she shares that through her experiences she found transformation and the opportunities that suffering offers for newfound wisdom and spritiual growth if we allow. Listen in as she shares the signs and symbols as to why she chose to embellish her story with fragments from Shaekspear's plays and will offer you hope that life, with all its joys and tragedies, is meant to be lived fully, faithfully, and lovingly. I hope you will join us.

Guest Bio - From Western JournalHeather Crockett Oram has a very unusual story that has been touching the hearts of thousands. She's experienced hardship in her life, losing her mother and sister to addiction. When Heather herself was just a few weeks old, doctors discovered that her ovaries weren't “hooked up right,” as she told Love What Matters. Her fate was sealed before she was even a year old: Heather would never be able to carry or give birth to her own biological children. She grew up, got an MA, and became a nurse — all the time thinking about adopting one day. She met a man she fell in love with, but it was difficult for her to tell him that she'd never be able to conceive. He already had two kids of his own, but she knew she had to tell him.“Before we got engaged, I told him the biggest secret of my life,” she wrote. “One that only a handful of people knew about me. I sobbed as I told him. He then grabbed my face and told me it didn't matter how our children came to us. They would be OUR children.”Deciding that adoption was for them, they began the process of creating an online presence, choosing to try to reach out to mothers-to-be themselves instead of going through expensive agencies. They had to sift through scams for a while, but eventually, they found a good fit.“September 1st we got a phone call from this woman in Missouri and we talked for an hour and a half. Over the next month we built our relationship and became increasingly excited. However, she never got us official proof of pregnancy.”Liking the mother-to-be but unsure if they would be able to proceed, they renewed their online adoption profile and got another potential match the next day.“She had been watching our profile and wanted to meet us,” Heather wrote. “Two days later we met in a little diner 20 minutes from our house. Just when we thought she had stood us up, in walked a very pregnant girl and her mom. We hugged and she showed us the ultrasounds of a little baby boy. He then started kicking and she had me feel her belly.”“Towards the end of breakfast she asked us how we felt. She then asked us if we would adopt her baby and love him forever. Jason and I sobbed. In the middle of a diner. In complete shock.”On Oct. 30 last year, they were present for Andy's birth, and their family of four became a family of five. But there were more surprises in store.“She told me she had just told the other family she did not feel good about them adopting her baby,” Heather continued. “She then told me that she knew this baby was supposed to be ours. I stood there holding my 3-month-old baby boy and she sent me pictures of an ultrasound of the baby boy growing in her stomach. I was speechless. But I also knew. Deep down I knew.”“Over the next two weeks my husband and I prayed a lot about adding another newborn to our family only months apart. The same resounding answer came again and again. Six weeks after that phone call we flew out with Andy to Missouri and met a woman and her three children the night before she was being induced. We all instantly connected.”“These 4 boys have my whole heart equally,” wrote Jason Orem on Instagram. “And, never did I imagine that after bringing Ellis home, his biological teenage brother would soon follow and we would have 5 boys to love and care for (no pressure

Introduction: Today it is truly my pleasure to have with us someone who I consider to be among the titans of hospitality royalty, namely Heather Tierney, the dare to be different restaurant, bar and design visionary, and owner of the cutting edge and vegan friendly bi-coastal restaurant The Butcher’s Daughter, a place that makes me for one feel as if I am truly happy to be home when I’m there. Rumor has it that the enduring trendsetter and Hoosier at heart – who took her talents to Southern California earlier this decade – very well may have been (at least in my mind at least) the inspiration for LeBron James to do the same earlier this year. When Heather isn’t making a difference in the hospitality industry, she enjoys spending as much time with her son Marley and husband Jake, while pursuing her passions – specifically wellness, yoga, boxing and paddle boarding whenever she can. Episode Notes: At 2:28, Heather Tierney discusses her passion for her design, food and beverage businesses, and her first job in the food industry working at Time Out New York. At 3:21, Heather informs us of the cocktail bar she opened along with her brother (namely Apotheke in Chinatown). At 5:10, she explains the importance for one to follow their own path, by doing what you love, and the ability to delegate. At 7:00, Heather touches upon boxing on the beach with her husband Jake, the yearly retreat for employees of The Butcher’s Daughter, and leading by positive reinforcement (and not fear)! At 8:36, she talks about the non-profit work she participates in, and being a part of the community. At 9:56, Heather advises that creating a “vibe” is something you can’t buy. At 11:33, she describes herself as a designer/creator driven to create experiences. At 12:18, Heather discusses the art of juggling, figuring out “the balance” and carving out personal time. At 14:42, she shares that she’s a dreamer at heart, and that visions come to her when she is alone in a quiet place (allowing her mind to wander). At 16:12, Heather informs how the The Butcher’s Daughter name came about. At 20:53, she talks about majoring in marketing at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, moving to London upon graduation, then moving to New York, and lastly, learning on the job with no prior writing experience at Time Out New York. At 25:07, Heather gives her take on risk and being an entrepreneur. At 26:52, she notes the importance of small things and finishing touches. At 27:55, Heather describes The Butcher’s Daughter in NoLita as a little restaurant with a big footprint. At 29:36, she points out that motherhood is slowing her down a bit, and she is more selective as to what projects she is taking on as a result. At 33:01, Heather dives into her morning routine of mediation and coffee on the beach. At 34:38, she said, “I only take up the RAM of the program that’s right in front of me.” At 37:00, Heather Tierney closes the podcast by touching upon the happiness of her employees, and creating a community and culture.
When Heather starts to bleed uncontrollably, it's the first time she wonders if she is going to live. After being diagnosed with a fibroid tumor, a series of events leads to her hospitalization where she ends up gaining 40lbs in 4 days after an emergency surgery. Yet despite questioning the decision to release her from the hospital in the severely swollen state, Heather is released only to return the next day to discover the cause of her symptoms and the common, yet significant surgical procedure that changed her life, and led to a second emergency surgery. Heather walks listeners through the reasons for and questions to ask regarding a hysterectomy and the surprising connection with C-sections. The podcast concludes with insightful tips such as the benefits of physical therapy, advocating for yourself and “talk[ing] openly about female body parts and medical procedures…without whispering.”
When Heather married at a very young age, she had no idea that depression and anxiety would change the entire course of her life.
Our last three episodes of Green Beauty Conversations formed our Beauty Branding Week and gave you plenty of strategies and practical tactics to help you get under way on your branding journey. However, if you've already launched your brand but feel that it's looking tired or is not doing your business justice or perhaps you've simply fallen out of love with it, now might be the right time to consider rebranding your beauty business. If you are at this juncture, then our guest in this episode has plenty of insights to help you work out if a rebrand might be good for your beauty business. We chat to Formula Botanica alumni Heather Urquhart, founder of Huna Natural Apothecary about the gains and pains of a rebranding exercise. Huna Apothecary is based in Winnipeg, Canada, and creates 100% natural and organic high-performance skin nutrition. Although having launched her business only a few years ago, Heather realised that Huna needed to enhance its brand positioning to be able to attract more retailers and compete with well-known, larger names in the natural beauty industry. When Heather started out she wisely bootstrapped most of her business and branding, but when she started missing out on market opportunities, she decided it was time to invest seriously in Huna's branding. In this episode, Heather talks us through her rebranding journey with its highs and lows. In this episode, you'll find out about: Why investing in your branding as early as possible is essential not peripheral to growing your business; Why retailers are a great resource and can help give you a reality check and feedback when you face a rebrand; How working with creative professionals on rebranding your beauty business makes all the difference to its success; Why you need to allow a good six months, or more, from creative brief to finishing a rebranding exercise; What outcomes you can expect from taking the plunge to rebrand. As Heather moves Huna from its first years as a start-up beauty business to running a premium natural beauty brand stocked widely in her native Canada, and soon further afield, she has plenty of business advice too. Key takeaways from this episode on the reasons to rebrand your beauty business include: Communicate closely with your retail partners throughout your rebrand process. They have their finger on the pulse of consumers probably more than you do. Don't underestimate how much time and money can go into sourcing the right packaging. Note also that premium beauty may require a look and finish with high minimum order quantities. Don't forget about the website in your rebranding exercise. Hire web design and build experts with a proven track record in delivering on time and to brief. You will make mistakes in building your brand and business but remember, this is part of your growth and learning curve. Just remain agile and be prepared to change course. We're in the beauty business where image counts. Don't forget that in your quest to showcase its green, clean face. It has a 4.9 star average on 56 reviews. This author has her street team in place to get that many reviews up so quickly. Good for her. She appears to be a self published author and making smart moves. She has published her entire trilogy in one year and all three books are in the top 55K for the paid kindle store. That means she is selling at least one of each book a day. That may not sound like a lot, but for an indie author, it's a good start. Heather Renee is an indie author that lives in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest in Oregon. She writes YA Fantasy that has a mixture of suspense, humor and a little romance. When Heather's not writing, she is spending time with her beautiful daughter and amazing husband. Two cats, and a dog who loves the snow, complete their household. On weekends if she doesn't have a book in her face, you can find Heather going on different adventures with her family. Her favorite being hiking to the top of Multnomah Falls. Kaliah "Kali" Atwater is awaiting two things, finishing sophomore year in college and her upcoming twentieth birthday. The day before Kali’s birthday, she finds out that the dream she's had every night for almost a year of a beautiful land, isn't a fantasy at all. It's her birth place. Every twenty years a new generation of Guardians return to Arvata to bring life back to their world and renew the magic of the Falls. Now it’s Kali’s turn, but dark magic has made its way into her new home preventing the Falls from replenishing. Kali must accept the role assigned to her by the Fates or let Arvata crumble. Can she and her friends save Arvata in time? Will new love make her stronger? Or will the darkness finally win? Only the Fates know for sure... Things that pulled me out of the story. It was hard to read out loud. Some of the sentences seemed inside out to me. I had to record some of them four times to get them to flow right. I don't know if that is a local way of speaking where the author comes from, but, as many great authors do, she might want to read her writing out loud to see how it flows, or maybe have her editor do it. I wasn't sure out some of the tenses she used. She talked about how the dream had changed "this night" when I felt like she was relating something that had happened in the past. To me it should have been, "last night". No biggie, I know, but it pulled me out. Also, she talks about how she will have her last final that day, and later she said she didn't have a chance to eat between finals. Again, no big deal, but it pulled me out to wonder how that worked. She also spoke about how relieved she was once her final was over, how her whole body showed it, then she says she can't wait to get back into the water to relieve some of the stress she is feeling. That left we feeling ambiguous. The parents are young without a wrinkle on their faces, but a few pages later they have worry lines. I think the author was saying they were frowning in worry, but having worry lines, in my mind, is something more akin to wrinkles, which they didn't have. Maybe I'm picking nits, but it took me out of the story and I think a more astute editor should have caught the contradiction in words. Again. The story sounds familiar. A person coming of age to find that they are a guardian over a people or a planet. The writing was good enough to keep me interested, though, I would have liked a reason to keep reading earler on. If this is your type of story, it looks like the author has a strong following and then there are two more books to enjoy.

When Heather began her running journey about 10 years ago, she admittedly knew little about the sport, from what to wear and fuel with during a race, to an understanding of how women had only in recent history made strides in running and been recognized for their achievements. All she knew was that the more she ran, the better she felt about herself. Over time, as she ran with other women, created new friendships within the awesome running community, and ultimately realized logging miles and living healthy had become a lifestyle, she found she couldn’t get enough of learning anything and everything about running—especially distance running. She would eventually discover that 26.2 miles held a special place in her heart. Incredibly challenging and uniquely rewarding, both in training and in finishing, the marathon is a distance she keeps coming back to. For this reason, she devoured the book Marathon Woman by Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially enter and run the Boston Marathon in 1967. This decision infuriated one of the race directors, who tried to physically remove Kathrine from the race because she was a female running in what was then considered an all-male event. The images of her struggle to continue running, helped by male runners, have become iconic in the history of sports and women. First published in 2007, Marathon Woman is Kathrine’s personal story of how she overcame the odds—as well as prejudice and ridicule (not only from the male quarter)—to become one of the leading marathon runners of her time. Inspired by the incident, she went on to run thirty-nine marathons—winning the New York City Marathon in 1974—and helped secure the women’s marathon as an event in the Olympic Games. Kathrine has gone on to accomplish so much on behalf of our sport and women everywhere. Kathrine joins Heather on this episode of the Michigan Runner Girl show. Heather also has another strong and amazing woman joining the conversation, to share her connection with Kathrine and Kathrine’s new non-profit 261 Fearless. Marathoner and Michigan runner Leah Doriot talks about her upcoming NYC Marathon and why it was important for her to join team 261 Fearless. Kathrine is leading a group of 13 dedicated “261 Fearless” runners, including 11 from the USA (seven different States), and one each from Belgium and Switzerland at this fall's NYC Marathon. This week's guest thought she "didn't have a story." When Heather approached her about speaking on Love Your Bodd Ashley said, "I'd love to but I don't really have anything special to share." Boy. Was. She. Wrong. This chick is INCREDIBLE. It's funny because you never know who you can inspire. She has a wonderfully unique story about being a "gangly green been" and blossoming into a beautiful dancer, about how dancing literally saved her back, and about how she has realized she let go of who she used to be and now wants those parts of herself back. If none of that makes sense, listen and you will understand. When Heather met west Michigan runner Vicki Kavanaugh at this summer's Mercy Health Seaway Run and Lake Michigan Half Marathon—Vicki stopped by the Michigan Runner Girl booth at this Muskegon race's expo and introduced herself—Heather knew she had to have Vicki on the podcast. Vicki is involved with Total Trek Quest, a program that assists third-, fourth- and fifth-grade boys in learning to run a 5K. More than 100 volunteer coaches facilitate 36 practices with these boys to prepare them for the race. But this program is more than simply an after-school get-your-body moving-activity. The program focuses on goal-setting, physical activity, teamwork and building confidence in saying no to underage use of substances and yes to healthy life choices. Early prevention efforts are critical among this age group, Vicki shares. According to the 2015 Youth Assessment Survey (YAS) of Ottawa County, Michigan 8th, 10th and 12th grade students, a significant number tried smoking, inhalants, and/or alcohol before the age of 14. Among youth who have used alcohol, 25% had their first drink before age 13. This fall, Total Trek Quest will be in four counties in the Grand Rapids area—Kent County is the latest addition—and the fall season (there are programs in the fall and in the spring) kicks off Sept. 11. It's now in its 12th season; it began in Ottawa County. Vicki, whose children are ages 24 and 20, shares her own running journey with Heather as well; she started running with the encouragement of her college roommate. She's a former longtime Gazelle Sports employee who has worked with hundreds of runners in Gazelle's training programs. She now serves as youth development specialist with Pathways in Holland, which is the organization through which Total Trek Quest operates. Link: pathwaysmi.org/strengthening-youth/total-trek-quest
Heather Kinsy was born and raised in Arizona and now residing in Oregon. She is married to Michael and mom of 2 boys, Joseph 2 years old and Vincent 4 months. She is an Associate Director in Technical project management for an International Clinic Research Organization and enjoys the flexibility of a home based working arrangement She enjoys cooking and baking exercising is an advocate for natural birth and breastfeeding. Heather had a very tight knit community with her classmates and extended family living within 1 mile of the house that she grew up in. She is just now realizing what a blessing it was to have both sets of grandparents who lived close and were healthy for many, many years. Heather has a younger sister who is an amazing support person for her. While she misses her Phoenix family and friends, she does not miss the heat. Heather shares with us her story of the births of both of her sons. She had natural childbirths with both her babies and was very pleased with her experiences. Heather had a difficult time with breastfeeding her first son Joseph and hoped for a better experience with her second son Vincent. Joseph was tongue tied and she suffered with poor latch, a high level of pain and low milk supply in this breastfeeding relationship. She worked very hard to keep up with pumping when she returned to work, and yet at a certain point, her supply began to gradually drop and she discontinued pumping and breastfeeding in his 8th month. When Heather was pregnant the second time, she took steps ahead of time to ensure that she educated herself during her pregnancy and she also made sure she connected with an IBCLC before giving birth. After an evaluation by a specialist, she was told her son was tongue tied. While she was not happy that this was something she was going to have to deal with, she was happy to know that she was with the right pediatric practice who was familiar with babies with tongue tie. She had the procedure done and within a day, she realized that breastfeeding was so much better. She could really feel that her baby had a good latch now and there was very little soreness, if any. Heather could also tell that Vincent had a better, more productive feeding. He seemed more at ease and she could tell his belly was full. From that point on, she was able to breastfeed Vincent. With all the difficulties she had with Joseph, the pain and the low milk supply, she was pleasantly surprised to have a very different experience with Vincent and thrilled that she was making plenty of milk. Almost too much milk. Heather talks to us about how making too much milk can sometimes be a problem and what she did to work through this.
