JULIE'S Bakeshop 40 years and with 3rd Generation in Business is a great milestone. With a humble beginning the founder Julie Gandionco began her bakeshop on January 6 the Feast of Three Kings in Wireless iCebu. Initially Julie began a catering job in Wireless Mactan Cebu. It was a break for her considering she has 6 children to feed. She was not able to complete her education due to financial constraint. Nevertheless she learned to sew dresses to augment the income. It all began when she began her catering she was asked to serve breakfast for hundreds of workers who report early and not having anything to eat. Her instinct made her wake up early morning and head on to the nearest bakery. With her old rickety car she bought all the bread the baker would display. The baker finally asked her what she was doing as he would be in trouble with his regular customers as everything is sold? Julie explained it was for her catering business as a breakfast line. The baker then uttered a joke "If you want, get me as a partner and will start a bakery!" Without batting an eye, Julie replied YES and she would make herself available in the afternoon to finalize arrangements. Thus began JULIE'S Bakeshop on January 06, 1981 in Wireless Mactan. 6 months after another branch opened in Urgelio Cebu City. Her family supported the business which eventually led into franchising. Curiosity and the Miracle Mentality with Tim Storey Pursuing a life you genuinely don't want dulls the light in your eyes. Is there a miracle mentality we can adopt to have the right mindset and get back on the yellow brick road of our lives? In today's episode, the one and only Tim Storey joins us to speak about the miracle mentality. He shares profound knowledge on navigating life, setbacks, and success. Tim also sheds light on the importance of curiosity and consistency in cultivating our real desires. If you want to get inspired to get back on the right path, this episode will spark something in you! Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode: Learn the principles and power of the miracle mentality. Discover the importance of cultivating your curiosity in staying on top of your game. Find out why you should build your spot in your work for six months before anything else. Episode Highlights It’s Just Around the Corner We all have self-doubt. We may question ourselves, but change can be just around the corner. The Miracle Mentality Tim has been studying the subject of miracles for over 20 years. It is something extraordinary, uncommon, not regular, and not the status quo. Kids dream big because of the miracle mentality. However, as they grow up, they move on with their lives and experience interruptions. Tim teaches how to keep the miracle mentality and apply it to your daily life in the book. The real "you" will make a demand on the "you" that you become. The miracle mentality is something innate. How the Miracle Mentality Dims Every chance they get, children will choose to play. According to Tim's studies, adults tend to lose that playful side of life. At the age of 11 or 12, children start getting a lot of homework on top of other things. They become a human "doing" rather than a human "being." Adults get so caught up in what they have to do in their lives and forget that they need playtimes too. You can download new fantastic information when you're in the creativity of playtime. The Importance of Staying Curious One of the reasons for the lack of curiosity is the pressure that comes with being challenged. You go singular when you're feeling pressured; you go plural when you're feeling great. The curiosity is in the plural. It's in the expansion and discovery. We all go through recovery and discovery at the same time. Our playtime has to be intentional. How Tim Recharges Tim also gives himself playtime. Tim loves music. From being a Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson's fan, he's now friends with them and coaches them. He gets triggered every day through music. Listen to the full episode to know more about maintaining the magic in your life! How Tim Cultivates Curiosity and Conversation You have to gauge two things as a speaker: the climate and culture of the room. Tim's talks are more like a conversation. He brings in humor because a lot of what he knows as a speaker is from comedians. We learn primarily in three ways: education, conversation, and observation. Tune in to the full episode to learn how Tim executes these! Why People are Afraid to be Themselves Many times, it's not their fault. They learned in the wrong way and felt pressure to achieve something that's not for them. You have to soar with your strengths. Be yourself, and be okay with it. The best version of yourself is the biggest blessing. Moving Forward with Life after a Setback Look how far you've come along with the lessons you learned from these setbacks. A comeback is not a place; it's getting back on the path. The Biggest Lessons from Acquiring Success You need to sit, learn, and get educated. And then, you got to stand in what you learned and walk out its principles every day. Once you start walking it out, you start gaining confidence and start running. Tim began running in his 30s, speaking to 30,000 to 40,000 people at conventions. Walking it out has to be consistent. Tim doesn't trip off all the power in his work because he's more into the moment. When You Feel Like Giving Up We need to quit instant gratification. It's our insecurity and ego speaking. Be the best worker in your job for six months before thinking about anything else. Cultivate it, grow it, and build your spot. Once you develop your area, life will put it into the spotlight. Tim established his place in turning people's setbacks around and unknotting someone's life. So all of a sudden, that homework begins to get in the middle of our playtime.” [08:36] “I think a lot of people, that as adults, we get so caught up in ‘What am I going to be doing in life?’ And, ‘Do I like what I'm doing, and am I making enough money?’ that you forget that we need playtimes, too.” [10:43] “The curiosity is not in the singular of all the negative things. It's in the plural. It's in the expansion. It's in the discovery.” [15:41] “Yet, she likes to dance, be silly, have fun, tell jokes and that helps her be plural and stay in the creative, which is what my book is about.” [18:35] “I like to converse with people, because you never know what you're going to learn from them. So. So I want to be educated, I want the conversation, but I'm also into the observation.” About Tim Tim Storey is an acclaimed life coach, author, and speaker. நம் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் Why People?
Why?: People say we'll have all the answers to our questions when we get to heaven. Will we really? What?: In Ephesians, chapter 2, Paul describes how we're saved by grace through faith. In verse 7, he tells us why. Paul writes, "… so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." How long will it take for Him to show us what Paul describes as "immeasurable riches of his grace"? The answer is, in a word, "forever." Every day we'll learn more of the "immeasurable riches of his grace." I'm reminded of the last stanza of the familiar hymn, Amazing Grace: "When we've been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we've first begun." The same will be true a million years later. We'll still be learning about God's grace poured out on us. We'll still be learning more about our Creator, our Savior, our great God as He reveals Himself day-by-day. So What?: We'll never know everything, otherwise we would be God. But, since God has made us in His image, we can know everything He reveals to us. A billion years into our eternal lives, we'll be excited to say, "Lord, we thought we knew you yesterday, but today you have revealed yourself in a new way. You are an awesome God." So What Now?: As Bible teachers, we have the privilege of giving our learners a taste of the learning they will experience every day, forever. We get to show them how great God is in every one of our lessons. Are you… will you be that excited every time you have the privilege of teaching those God has placed under your teaching ministry?
2020 has been quite a let down. People are so discouraged they have quit attending churches – even online. And of those still attending, about 30% have switched churches since the pandemic started. Why? People are confused, worried, frightened, anxious, looking for something new, something different, something to provide a lift, a boost, hope. One word describes how most all of us feel right now. The joy of the Lord is your strength. In the poem that was read, there was a man that seemed to have everything. Everyone was envious of him. Yet, he went home and put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. People think that everything is good for people. But people are lonely. What you see on the outside, is not always what is going on inside. Why do people kill themselves? Because people live lives of quiet desperation. A lot of people hate their jobs. If you find a job that you really love, you will never go to work a day in your life. 40% of those who are still married, are unhappy in their marriage. The joy of the Lord is my strength. If we are not careful, we can become just like the world, unhappy, and miserable. You need to expect in your life, everyday, any number of problems. That is how life works. Multitudes of people don't live that way. They are extremely unhappy with life, to the point where they don't see it getting any better. Many Christians fall into the same category. Why? People really have no purpose in their life. You have to have a purpose in life. Jesus is that purpose. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Everyone may disappoint you, but Jesus never fails.

Hazing is an ugly ritual that permeated junior hockey for years, but those responsible are now facing a reckoning. We discuss why the toxic culture behind hazing is a PR disaster for a sport that is already considered violent. Ewan goes into the US Supreme Court decision last week that defines the word "sex". We look at the ruling, the dissent, and what it means for employers and employees. Then it's back into COVID-19, which is continuing to infect people in many parts of the United States as economies open. We talk about what the rising numbers could mean for both the global economy and the stock market. We hear the term discipleship a lot in Christian circles, but do we really understand what it means and why it’s important? And is it possible that discipleship can play a role in keeping people in the church rather than walking away? In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Holly and I are talking with Madge Obaseki, a healthy growth advocate for churches in the UK and around the world. We’re diving into how Madge went from being burnt out in church to becoming passionate about discipleship. We also discuss ways that churches can practically implement discipleship and how this will impact them. In addition, Madge shares about her research around why people are leaving the church and some things that churches can do to reduce this trend. We dive into the issue of small groups and their importance in the discipleship process--but also why they should not be the only discipleship method. Madge also gives her perspective on whether new Christians should be plugged into serving right away or not. Hey writers—super-practical episode this week! Call it part two of the Sarina coaches KJ through her book launch series. This week, it’s the #MarketingMojo page—things you’ll need as you market your book no matter what the book is or when it launches. This is the road to creating things like back-of-the-book or flap copy, ad copy, social media post copy and more, for fiction and non-fiction both. We go in deep in the podcast, but here’s a quick primer, starting with the easiest and building up to the biggest challenges. Sarina suggests creating a Google doc with the following: Praise for the book/General praise for you and your work. Why? People buy things because of the emotions they’re expecting to feel. The praise you get from others—or the praise you’re hoping for, which is another way to approach this—is a shortcut to what emotions people have when reading your work.Short quotes from the actual book that say something in a few words that’s really indicative of the theme. Note—they can be shortened, condensed, or made more pithy as needed. You’re allowed to misquote yourself.A list of the conflicts, curiosities, tropes or other standout traits of the book. Cliffhangers? Puzzles? Thought-provoking questions? Identical twins, billionaires? Small towns and second chances? These are things that get people to pick up a book. List all you’ve got. From there, you’re on your way to creating your taglines and cover copy. We give examples in the episode—or just flip over any book in your genre and take a look.#AmReadingSarina: The Weight of Ink, Rachel KaddishKJ: Gaudy Night, Dorothy SayersJess: The Biggest Bluff, Maria Kornikova No transcript this week, because of … things. On this week’s episode of Real Estate Tips, we answer a great question from one of our awesome listeners, Alec. Alec wants to know if flyers, door hangers and direct mail pieces are still relevant. The answer to this question, is ABSOLUTELY. Not only are they still relevant, but in our opinion, they are more relevant today than ever before. Why? People are still opening their doors, they’re still checking their mailboxes, and these days, people are getting less and less physical mail, so your piece will stand out that much more. Alec also asks, "What information should be on them," and, "What price point of homes should they sent out to?" Our world, our nation, our communities, and our church…we all find ourselves in new territory…beyond the map…off the beaten path. We’ve never been in a situation quite like this before. It’s an uncertain and ambiguous time for leadership, parenting, medicine, business, finance, education…every facet of life. It’s human nature to “huddle” together in times of uncertainty. Historically, in catastrophic moments like war or like the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, we were drawn to be together. We want to connect. We want community. We finally realize our deep need for each other. Research has shown that in nearly every significant moment of national uncertainty…whether it was the Great Depression or the more recent Great Recession or in times of war or after 9/11, attendance to church and attendance to movie theaters rises dramatically. Why? People go to the movies in times of crisis to escape the harshness of reality. People go to church to find refuge and connect with the eternal, something that transcends the fragile present. The current extremes with this pandemic are panic or denial. It’s hard to find someone with a sensible balance. On the one hand, panic has sent our financial markets into chaos and has many people hoarding staple goods like it’s the end of the world. On the other hand, some are shrugging their shoulders, as if this is not a significant event and basically ignoring simple precautions that would greatly limit the spread of the virus. One of the core values of Northplace Church is “balance.” In a world full of extremes, our trust in the Sovereign hand of God enables us to live centered, balanced lives, even in the face of situations like we find ourselves in today. Living without fear and approaching moments like these with an unshakable trust in God says more about Him to the “watching world” than 10,000 sermons. If our faith isn’t strong enough to sustain us with hope in moments like these, can it be a legitimate faith? We started the year with a series about leadership. Much of what is happening in our world right now is “reactionship.” But God has called his people to offer hope-filled leadership and be a stabilizing force when the ground seems to be giving way.Recorded on March 14, 2020Speaker: Bryan Jarrett2800 Pleasant Valley RdSachse, TX 75048

In this episode of The Irish Mummy, the biggest thing that holds us back. It's us. How often do we set goals so big that they even scare us? Maybe we don't even set goals at all so technically we don't fail. So much of our success is dependent on how we view ourselves, how much we worry about others' thoughts and how our goals reflect those beliefs. Are you stuck? Get unstuck with creativity. David views creativity as a capacity that goes unused by many. Why? People become complacent stuck in the same place for year after year. Fear of something new, of stepping outside your comfort zone keeps one from reaching the capacity and therefore remains uncreative. 2:00 The myths of calling one “creative”. Creative is a capacity more than a skill or talent. Problem solving at work uses the same “muscles” as DaVinci used when creating. 4:00 Not all people with the capacity will use that capacity. Could shame be at the core of why people fail? Why People sabotage themselves? What is shame and how does it affect the body?
Why People failed as a Content Creator
Epi. 22 - Why People are Not Healed? From the Christian Perspective - from the Faith in Jesus Christ Point of View - A Personal Perspective of Faith on the Subject Matter is Shared - Understanding that this shared inspiration on this topic is merely touching the surface of the Subject in the deeper dimensions of God's Word. It is my Prayer that GOD will give you deeper revelations of His Wisdom on the Subject that His Peace in Christ fill you and your love ones, when you come across cases as discussed. Why People are Not Healed and others Healed? A threatening question, satan continue to frustrate people today. For the multitudes it is their Limits to the understanding of Healing. I am not saying that Jesus is limited in his healing. No, No, what I mean here is our understanding both the metaphorical knowledge of healing language in the bible and Jesus’ healing ministry; both directs our faith further to reassure ALL; understanding that people may not be Healed, but it does not limit the Authority and Power of Jesus to Heal ALL diseases and sickness, as HE will - now for those who are NOT Healed, we must focus our courage to the enlighten wisdom which directs our Faith pointing to the necessity of understanding that spiritual healing and redemption of God’s people is more eminent rather than the anticipated physical healing of the human body that is not healed. In 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:3 we see a distinction made between the “inner man” and the “outer man.” It is clear that God uses both sickness and healing to accomplish his will or purpose of drawing his children to himself. We are not privy to God’s sense of timings or His Omnipotent Wisdom and so are free from the impossible task of explaining why he chooses to heal some and not others. Rather we must encourage all to groan in eager anticipation of the time when the Kingdom reaches its fullness. Precious Souls, under GOD, Please do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away or dying away in our human sickly body or aging, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day by the Inner Healing of our Spirit in Jesus Authority and Power. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs all sickness & diseases of the human body. So we MUST be strengthen each day in our troubles and challenges to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen in Christ eternal GLORY in Heaven; knowing that Jesus is us, our eternal Hope of Glory. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Now we know that if our earthly body is destroyed(which is our human sickly body), we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands GOD's Radiant Glory; Hence, forth be encouraged and strengthen daily to groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly new creations in GOD's eternal presence and in the riches of His eternal Glory revealed finally to eternally satisfy our spiritual longings since the day we enter into our mothers womb. May God enrich your souls and lives hence forth. May you share Kinsman Podcast and Click on Support this Podcast as the Lord moves in your heart. Why People do what they do?
Feedback is an integral part of being a leader. While providing and receiving feedback can seem straightforward, there is actually more to it than meets the eye. Why? People have different relationships to feedback. And that relationship they provide and receive feedback. This can be extra challenging if you’re a leader since you have to be aware of your relationship with feedback. Otherwise, you will only operate inside the range you are comfortable with. So what can you do about your relationship with feedback? How else can it affect your leadership? I’ll dive more into the matter in today’s episode so don’t forget to join me!

Is is worth the time to do this thing? When you ask this question, I don’t think it’s a right one to ask. Time is not that valuable as you think. Even time is the most important leverage you have in your life. ☝️ - Time is useless if you don’t start doing. People overvalue time. When they pick up something and they don’t believe it will happen. Then they might probably say, “It’s not worth the time. What if it doesn’t work? What if I fail?” Well, if you don’t try, time is zero value to you! Why?✌️ - People before didn’t succeed on something. It doesn’t mean you couldn’t too. People succeed on something. It doesn’t mean you can succeed too. People haven’t tried something before. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Why?
Take back control! Often times we get into a flow of how we carry out the daily activities of our lives. Are the things that we are doing the best option? Are we Responding to situations we find ourselves in or are we Reacting? If you are engaging in something that the majority of people are doing I challenge you to ask WHY!? “Everyone in my family is overweight...” WHY? “People are posting ‘funny’ images or videos of other people’s misfortune or bad day moments and attaching a meme to it or making fun of them...” WHY? Then and only then when you have answered the why can you understand the underlying reasoning and then you have a choice to make-does that action align with who you are and who you want to be perceived as? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tim-howie/message
Why does everyone hate recruiters? It's one of the questions I ask Mitch Sullivan in this new Recruitment and Stuff... episode. I hate recruitment. But I've always enjoyed MItch Sullivan's recruitment blogs. So it made sense to get him on the podcast and talk about recruitment and stuff. Mitch has experienced recruitment from a number of different perspectives, and with nearly 30 years in the industry – he had lots to share. We talk: 1) Why People hate recruiters so much 2) Is recruitment a sector built on lies? 3) Corporate Vs Boutique Firms 4) Overpromising/under delivering 5) Recruitment Awards being bullsh*t 6) Poor job ads on LinkedIn 7) Direct approaches on LinkedIn 8) The controversial Hays post 9) Which "influencers" p*ss us off the most (15%'ers will see Oleg & Brigette animated 10) Recruiters changing candidates CV's It's a must-see for the recruitment crowd, job seekers and HR professionals, but like the Sales and Stuff... episode with The UK's Most Hated Sales Trainer - you might get something from this even if it's not your usual area of interest. But it's not uncommon that once these social safe havens are created and made public, organizers and attendees are met with the inevitable barrage of interrogations and accusations regarding such spaces: "Why is this space just for black people?" "Why is this club just for Latinx people?" "Isn’t a black gay pride event divisive and 'reverse racist?'" Our first guest this week is Berkeley-based writer Kelsey Blackwell, who wrote the essay “Why People of Color Need Spaces Without White People.” We discuss with Kelsey the need for POC-only gathering places that are free from white judgement and the stereotypes and marginalization that permeate mainstream society. Later in the show we get specific in the conversation of race, with Salem State Communications professor Joshua Adams. He recently published a piece on Medium: We Should Stop Saying “People of Color” When We Mean “Black People” “Saying POC when we mean black people is this concession that there’s a need to describe a marginalized group as 'less' Black for in order for people (specifically, but not only, white people) to have empathy for whatever issue being discussed,” he writes. And in Juicy Fruit, we talk about two very different kinds of uninvited house guests.

In this entry, it's exactly what you think it's about. Yes, we're going the distance and talking about masturbation. Why? People don't have as much of a hard time talking about sex as they do self-pleasure. It's looked on as being something shameful, whether you're religious or not. It's embarrassing for most, but I'm here to change all that and alleviate the (ahem) pressure. This is going to be a very close look at my own sexual background and where my personal tastes and desires formed. However, I won't be getting graphic about the act, just sharing what impressionable ideas took hold of a very young me. It's not what you might expect. Also, we get into the overall subject of shame, being alarmed by unexpected sexual feelings, and simply allowing yourself to be happy regardless of labels or your own preconceived notions. While I'm going to be very open and transparent about myself, I would like to remind everyone that there is a certain time, place, and consenting person to share these details. So please be respectful, don't be a creep, but also don't be ashamed of your preferences, fetishes, and kinks (with the exception non-consensual acts) because we all have them. One of the greatest causes of bitterness, anger, and brokenness in marriage is the confusion over union: couples know that in marriage TWO become ONE, but what they forget (or are never taught) is that ONE must continue to be TWO. Union is sacred—but so is individuality. People must learn to be One and yet recognize that by God’s design they are still TWO. Marriage is a union—not a fusion. In a fusion, two things melt into one substance. They become entirely—and only—one thing! But in a union, two become one by covenant and yet remain as two. This means that the TWO recognize, respect, and celebrate each other’s distinct, individual personalities, needs, and desires. When couples become fused together or completely wrapped up and entangled in each other’s lives—when there is no separation or distinguishing of each spouse’s right to be their own person and to own their own emotions and desires—then manipulation, anger, and resentment will grow like poisonous weeds to stifle the life of the Marriage Garden. Why? People learn to fear and resent each other when they are completely locked into (and dependent on) each other’s emotional states. “You make me so mad!” becomes the unnatural spirit of a marriage where people are completely reliant on each other for their own strength and happiness.
Warning [Explicit Language]: I brought together Andrew Meyer & Owen Benjamin to have a discussion about Jewish people, free speech & many taboo issues. Why? People need to talk. Discuss. News: For months I’ve been predicting a slow down in rising prices. Specifically I targeted first or secong quarter of 2018 before we would notice things cooling off. Today I have the first evidence. From Seattle, the HOTTEST market in America and the fastest rising prices. http://www.seattletimes.com/business/real-estate/foreign-buyers-drop-off-as-seattle-housing-market-hits-hottest-tempo-since-2006-bubble/ So foreign buyers are already beginning to taper off a bit in Seattle. Articles on the “hot market” Plano Texas Austin Texas Seattle Columbus OH St. Louis San Francisco / Bay area Denver Raleigh Durham, NC Nashville New Haven and all of Connecticut Park Rapids, MN Exception: Flint MI. Sales are down, prices are down. Why? People have been told they cannot sell their home with known lead and pipe issues. It may not be true, but the other problem is no one wants to move there before they get their water issues resolved. Meanwhile in Toronto: Prices are down, median price fell from 919k to 793k last month. Why? Because of a new 15% tax on foreign buyers. Tax any behavior and it will decrease. Politicians tax where they see dollar signs, without regard to the above statement. Prices elsewhere in Canada are like those in the US. Markets are hot. It won’t be long before you start seeing “sky is falling” articles about the markets being overheated. What will happen? People will listen. The euphoria will pass, builders will catch up with inventory and the market will settle in at normal rates of appreciation, roughly tied to inflation. High prices are squeezing out lower income buyers. So what will happen? Where there is a market, enterprising builders and investors will move to lower prices. They want to make money and have to sell in order to do it. Scams: Rental Scam: Advertised on Craigslist - price VERY reasonable. Investor Uh-OHs: Let’s call him Bill: I bought a house that needed quite a bit of work, but had everything worked out and a plan. Unfortunately both my contractor and I missed a significant foundation issue. The integrity of the structure was compromised and the cost to repair was more than it would cost to tear the house down and build new. I ended up selling at a significant loss. The data we refer to as “sales intelligence” is one of the most frustrating necessities for sales teams. It’s information you have to have in order to do your job effectively, but it can be a Catch 22. You can only be as effective as the data you have, and the data is changing all the time and often difficult to find. Steve Bryerton and the team at DiscoverOrg are changing the way that sales data and intelligence is gathered, and have a team of 300 people who are curating data for salespeople by hand, every day. You’ve got to hear what has motivated this unprecedented step and how the DiscoverOrg team is able to offer a 95% accuracy guarantee. It’s on this episode of In The Arena. @SteveBryerton: How To Get 95% Accurate #Sales Intelligence, Every Time - Episode #107 OF #InTheArena @DiscoverOrgClick To Tweet What’s the most important piece of sales intelligence that sales reps are in need of? Believe it or not, it’s an accurate phone number. It’s amazing how many incredible startups or progressive companies that are poised to change the world, force interested customers, clients, and partners to connect with them through a web form. Period. No phone number is even available on their website. Both Anthony and his guest, Steve Bryerton believe the day will come when these world-changing companies will rethink that decision and begin to provide a phone number to make a connection with their company more easily accessible. But until then, what do sales reps do? There are only two choices… you do the legwork of finding the contact data yourself, or you make use of those who make the task their business, literally. Listen to find out how you can make use of a professional team of sales intelligence detectives. Sales Intelligence is a moving target. But you’ve still got to hit it Every salesperson has experienced the scenario: You spend time on social media, scouring the internet, and researching company websites to find the exact right email or phone number for the person you want to speak to. But you can’t find it. Why? People move from one position to another within companies, they are hired away by competitors, their IT department changes the format of email addresses but hasn’t had time to update the website to reflect the changes. Lots of reasons. Spending time trying to find contact info is not the best use of your time, but what else can you do? Steve Bryerton and the DiscoverOrg team have an option for you… let their team do that legwork for you. On this episode, you’ll hear how you can get a free trial of their service and experience the relief and power of instant, accurate sales intelligence, every time. #Sales Intelligence is a moving target. But you’ve still got to hit it @SteveBryerton @DiscoverOrgClick To Tweet What kind of accuracy does your sales intelligence contain? Suppose you’ve spent hours gathering data to contact the right person within the company you’re about to pitch. You make the call. You send the email. And it’s the wrong number or extension. The email is returned as inaccurate. Going back to square one has never been so painful. Is there a better way? Steve Bryerton says there is. In fact, the team at DiscoverOrg are focused on finding solutions that problem every day. In this conversation, you can hear how Steve and his team are providing 95% accurate data to sales leaders all around the world. Episode 29 -- Work: The Forgotten Virtue - Your Work Matters Work is a virtue. And perhaps it’s one that has been forgotten. Certainly if we compare the attitudes of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers about work to the mindsets of our peers and our children, we’ll see a degradation of the values that once defined hard working men. Men, your work matters. It matters what you do – and how hard you work. Even if you are working at a fast food drivethru – your work matters. We need to treat our jobs as though they matter! Why? People are depending on us to do our job. The toilet you scrub, the widgets you make, the burgers you make, the papers you write – they matter to someone. I know your boss might be a prick, and you might not feel valued. But you’ve got to make your own validation. Find your value, and the value in your work on your own – and recognize that someone is counting on your doing your job to the best of your ability. You are depending on your income! Your job is paying you, and it’s providing for your needs and the needs of your family. That matters. If you treat it like it doesn’t matter – you might lose it. Your income matters, and so by default, the way you earn that income matters. Men, even if your job is just a stepping stone – even if it’s a J-O-B on your way to a career – even if you HATE it – it matters. So treat it like it matters! Remember – how it feels is not as important as what the truth is. So your feelings might tell you how much you hate your job. Counter those feelings with the truth – that your job matters. Part 1 of 8: Galatians 1:1-10 Verse 1: He begins with an immediate defense of his apostolic authority … sent NOT from men nor by man, but by Jesus … … who raised him … and all the brothers with me. Paul is not suggesting that we become independent and unaccountable to anyone … that he was not. He is simply stating the origin of his apostolic calling. Afterwards, Paul functioned in teams … “and all the brothers (and sisters) with me.” To the churches in Galatia: v. 3 - Grace to you and Peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Greet (Gentile) and Jewish – grace & shalom foreshadowing … Jesus gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us … In Jesus, the Kingdom of God has broken into this present age, evil because it’s still under the reign of sin and death. Those who receive the Gospel are transferred into another realm, the Kingdom of God – Where Christ is King and shares his righteous, peace and joy – in the Holy Spirit. v. 5 - Paul’s AMEN is both his own expression of praise AND a plea to say the AMEN with him, a reaffirmation of the Gospel that’s being contended by false teachers infiltrating the churches of Galatia. Saying AMEN in sincere faith affirms the power of transformation in the Gospel, the power of God for those who believe (Romans 1). Now he comes out swinging! Verse 6 v. 6 Deserting the Gospel is not only walking away from a point of view, a set of beliefs, a creed, an opinion among many religious options … Deserting the Gospel is the same as deserting God. In our age of relativity and pluralism, where one’s faith is viewed as a mere personal opinion, with no absolute or exclusive claims, this verse sounds very narrow and judgmental … This present evil age seeks to pull us away … where sin and death still have sway on many … such talk it too much to handle. Gospel – a subversive event … in the Roman world and in ours. The Gospel is about who the ruler of the world, of this age and the age to come, actually is. When we say that Jesus is Lord, we are saying that he is the one in charge … Gospel was a secular term co-opted by the Church to describe the victory of Jesus over the powers of sin and death. Paul was an envoy, an apostle sent out into the Gentile world proclaiming this subversive message. To alter this message, but adding to it, Jesus PLUS … was to risk cutting oneself off from the God of the Gospel. They are united in the Holy Spirit … God’s Word is breathed out by God’s Spirit. Receiving the Gospel of Christ as it was delivered to the Church is how we are rescued from this present evil age into union with God, forgiven, restored and in process of transformation. Paul’s children in the Lord are on the edge of rejecting the pure message and are being upset by false teachers who say that Jesus isn’t enough. Why? People pleasing … the fear of man … fear of being shamed, ostracized, ridiculed … the false teachers are trying to please the sect in Jerusalem that wants the Gentiles to come under certain demands of the Torah … circumcision, jewism calendar & food laws … we’re going to see this play out in the coming weeks. Baptism is being supplanted by physical circumcision … How do we view this present age … friends or in tension (in it not of it?) - continual AMEN to the pure Gospel … not cultural Christianity - being confident and secure in the Gospel without fear or shame
