This episode provides valuable insights for nonprofit leaders seeking to cultivate more equitable and inclusive organizations, emphasizing the importance of self-reflection, systemic change, and embracing humanity in leadership.   Episode highlights: Defining DEI [00:8:08] Defining DEI: The conversation begins with an exploration of what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to each participant and how their understanding has evolved over time. Coming from a predominantly working class neighborhood, he also saw the impact any leader can have at all levels of society and particularly the effects leaders have on those who are most marginalized. These life experiences inform his philosophy that good leadership  is equitable leadership. Casey Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy. He has taught as an adjunct faculty member for ten years in Organization Development and DEI programs at American University and Georgetown University. The video is titled FEMINISTS OUTRAGED as More Women are PAYING ALIMONY To EX-HUSBANDS Than EVER BEFORE! At the beginning of the video there's a short clip from an official news outlet and they are interviewing a family court lawyer and he says the reason more women are paying their ex husbands spousal support is because of equality and rightfully so. He says that often they are marrying men that don't make as much as they do and that alimony is calculated through a formula You take 50% of your net income if you're the higher earner and you minus 40% of the lower earners net income and that gives you the basics. But there are also other factors. The lawyer says that whamen have excelled in the professions that pay very well. That's the basic premise of that short clip by the lawyer Peter Walzer and then 33 secrets chimes in by saying that Peter is going to get cancelled for speaking the truth even though there's nothing offensive about it. 33 then goes onto say that the reason women are increasingly getting divorced and forced to pay their exes is because they are choosing to get married to guys that are Chad, Pokey or Tyrone that make less money than her. That such women get all hot and heavy for so super attractive guy and that it shuts down the reason and rationality in their brain. 33 says that a Chad gets to eat free and live rent free with such a woman simply because of his good looks. That she's just wanting to bang him to produce a high quality child. She's also the one that willingly married him. She was probably thinking he's not going to divorce her because he loves her and men don't generally go out of our way to hurt those we love. 33 also says that he hasn't seen women put in jail yet for child support. This video is basically just obvious stuff we've been talking about for years in the manosphere. Luciano I had a hard time getting through the video link you sent me. There's a lot of repetition and only the last quarter of the video is jam packed with interesting information. 33 should have started talking about how Brittany Spears had to pay Kevin Federline when he divorced her. Their relationship deteriorated quickly and didn't last very long. This just tells me that if you're a good looking man you need to go out there and try to find a woman that's a career patsy and ride that pony all the way down the marriage aisle and then to the divorce court. Pretend to be nice but be a secret gold digger. The better looking your are the more likely you'll be to find some rich sugar momma and once you take her money she'll fall into a denial coma. The thing is that women want a quality man, regardless of income but they don't want the responsibility of having to pay for him when things go south. What 33 is saying is that Chads can get away with almost anything. I'll discuss more in a moment but let me first tell everyone about today's sponsor The Red Pill Ring:Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/mgtow/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Trying to figure out how to break into the tech industry can be daunting. Traditional four-year institutions can be expensive places to learn computer science and lack of exposure to the skills needed in the industry as a whole can derail a career before it gets started. In this Expanding Opportunities in Tech podcast series produced in partnership with Cognizant Foundation, we examine alternative, free training programs, each offering a foot in the door to teens and young adults from historically underrepresented groups in the tech industry, including women, BIPOC, and people from low-income backgrounds. Five years ago, Miriam Cortés, then 33, found herself juggling massive college debt and unable to pay her bills despite working full-time as a substitute teacher and holding several other part-time jobs. "I had one of those—when you're in your 30s—'What am I even doing?' panic attacks. I have no money right now. I can't afford rent," she recalls. Out of high school, Cortés earned a B.A. and then a Master's degree but says the timing was wrong and she was unable to find work in her chosen field—industrial engineering. That's when she started piecing together a number of jobs to earn a living. Cortés was thinking of moving back to her hometown of Miami from Seattle when a friend told her about Ada Developers Academy, an 11-month free program with the goal of "preparing women and gender-expansive adults to be software developers." At first, she was skeptical about a free school that made such big promises in such a male-dominated field. "There's no way that there's a free program that helps you find a job, or an internship, and then if that doesn't work out with the internship company, it helps you find a job further on and you don't owe them anything. That's not real." she remembers thinking. But it was real—and still is—and Cortés was soon on a pathway that has changed her life. She started out learning software languages such as Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript, but she says those weren't the most important skills she learned. "It's really hard at the beginning...but you're getting into an industry where that's going to be your reality for however long. I have since learned Python and Java, and some other stuff, but essentially your most used skill is the learning how to learn on your own, or learning how to figure out the right questions to ask." Part of the Ada program is a paid internship. Cortés did hers at Zillow, the online real estate hub, which hired her as a full-time software development engineer. Now 38, she's gone from working multiple jobs and barely making ends meet to having a $118,000-a-year career that she loves. Cortés says Zillow also is providing her with opportunities to move up at the company and gain new skills at her own pace. "I've really appreciated that at Zillow, There's been micro ways of figuring out what I want that next step to be for me. I feel very lucky now." She also has embraced the Ada mission and now sits on its Board of Directors. Opening the Door for More Women in the Tech Industry Lauren Sato, CEO, Ada Developers Academy (Photo: Ada Developers Academy) Cortés is exactly the type of woman Ada Developers Academy can help—smart and motivated, but stuck in a job or career that, for whatever reason, isn't right for them, says CEO Lauren Sato. "We have over 500 alums now at Ada—and another 5.3 million women who left the workforce over the last year—who can attest to their career not being a good fit, whether it's because they just ended up not liking it, or it wasn't a good fit for their families and their family decisions," Sato tells me. "We've had accountants come to Ada and they realize that they want more flexibility, they want better benefits, they want to be paid what they're worth. They end up at Ada and build these incredible careers that really work with their lives." Ada doesn't admit students with a traditional tech background.

In only 90 seconds, Julia Scotti blew us away on America’s Got Talent. We talk about just how hard it is to be funny and make an impression in that short amount of time, auditioning for clubs in the 80s, taking a break from comedy and coming back even stronger, and of course, I make her share some horror stories from hell gigs. Pat House is a nationally-touring comedian based out of Philadelphia. A regular performer in comedy clubs, casinos, and theaters all over the country, Pat has been a choice opener for Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura, and Dan Cummins. He recorded his first album Biggest Thing in 2013, and his latest album Heard Enough Yesterday, hit #1 on the iTunes comedy charts. Both can be heard on iTunes, Amazon, and Pandora.Julia is a nationally headlining comedian, former teacher, author, speaker, and woman of transgendered experience. She was a quarter-finalist and fan favorite on season 11 of America’s Got Talent on NBC in 2016. Julia currently has a comedy special on SHOWTIME called "More Women of a Certain Age". Originally from Fairview, New Jersey, for the first 48 years she was better known as comedian Rick Scotti. She toured the country, appearing at venues all over the United States and Canada, both as a headliner in comedy clubs and as an opening act for artists such as Lou Rawls, Chicago, and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Julia has appeared on numerous television and radio shows as well as commercials. In 2000, Julia left comedy to begin her life-altering transition, and also to begin her new career as a teacher, where she remained for seven years. She was self-employed for a time, but in 2011, after a ten-year layoff from comedy, Julia returned to the stage. Her new brand of comedy is fierce, honest, and fearless. She has been described as a “force of nature”, “a cross between Sam Kinison and Mrs. Doubtfire”, and like a “chainsaw flying through the room”. Julia was a quarter-finalist on season 11 America’s Got Talent in 2016. She was a judge’s favorite with Simon Cowell saying “you genuinely made me laugh”, and Howie Mandel quoted as saying “you have so much to offer, you are a joy." In 2012, Julia had been named one of the Top Five Transgender Comedians in the country by Advocate Magazine. Since then, she has gone on to become the first transgendered woman and finalist in the New York Based Ladies of Laughter Competition. She has performed at the Boston Comedy Festival, and in 2014 was one of the winners of the Laughlin Laugh Festival in Nevada. Today, you can find Julia performing at comedy clubs and theaters around the country. When she isn’t making people laugh, Julia often speaks at teacher in-services on the subject of bullying and transgendered youth issues.

The Canna Mom Show went to Vegas in December to attend the Women of Cannabis Conference. Wow! So before introducing today's guest, Nurse Julie Battel of CED Clinic in Brookline, Massachusetts, Amie and Joyce tell what happened in Vegas. They share not just their introductions to amazing women like Hash Queen Mila Jansen , Business Entrepreneur Stormy Simon, and Nichole West (who shared her remarkable story falling into the rabbit hole of cannabis regulations and losing her way), but stories about all the women from across the country who gathered at the powerful event. Then they introduce their guest, Julie Battel, who has a background in public health, obstetrics and was a mid-wife for thirteen-years. When she was diagnosed with an auto immune disease that left her with tremors  she had to pivot professionally and started down the path in cannabis care at CED Clinic in Brookline, Massachusetts with Dr. Benjamin Caplan. Julie shares her own cannabis health story and then explains the process for medical card certification, which can feel intimidating but is really quite easy. So if you've been thinking about getting a medical card in Massachusetts, this is a show for you. Vision: WELD is the national model for implementing strategies to advance women to higher levels of leadership and economic strength. We deploy significant financial and influential resources to accelerate educational programming and relevant missions. Mission: WELD develops and advances women’s leadership to strengthen the economic prosperity of the communities it serves. We provide women with specific tools to enhance their individual economic status, and we build programs, events, and a community to support female leadership development and business growth. As we use an image of Rosie the Riveter in our logo we pay tribute to the women who challenged the traditional perception of women’s capabilities in the workplace and in society. Just as Rosie the Riveter and her colleagues broke new ground, our goal is to further the issues of economic development for women in Central Ohio. During wartime the slogan was, “The More Women at Work, the Sooner We Win.” This slogan holds just as true today as it did during Rosie’s time. Opportunities: WELD develops and advances women’s leadership to strengthen the economic prosperity of the communities it serves. We do this by building programs, events, and a community to support leadership development and business growth. WELD has several speaking opportunities available every year during our programs and events. This is a great opportunity to speak to women from Central Ohio who currently hold key positions within their companies as well as those women who are on the rise.
