Mississippi State Baseball has endured so many ups and some downs. The truth is the downs have been so very painful considering the heartbreak after heartbreak for the baseball program having accomplished all but that one thing, and that one thing being the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Well, Mississippi State has done that as the BULLDOGS WHIPPED VANDERBILT TO WIN, EARN, AND TAKE OUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP THAT WE RIGHTFULLY DESERVED!!! When you look around, there are none that deserve a National Championship more than ours do. When you look at that from a commitment standpoint, both emotionally, and financially there are none that even come close or match our commitment to college baseball. Mississippi State has done it FINALLY FOLKS! MISSISSIPPI STATE BASEBALL IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPS OF THE COLLEGE BASEBALL WORLD!!! Mississippi State has now, won the first, and there will be more to come! There will be many more COLLEGE WORLD SERIES APPEARANCES COMING, as Coach Lemonis has built his COLLEGE WORLD SERIES TRAIN FROM STARKVILLE, MS ALL THE WAY TO OMAHA, NEBRASKA. #52 Aim for Skills to Start Your JourneyPlaying with your shoelaces and thinking about running is not the same as entering the race and placing yourself on the starting the line. When you decide to become skillful in your art whether it is Northern Shaolin, Tai Chi Chuan, Sword, Xing Yi Quan, or Qigong is when your journey really begins. By committing yourself to regular, focused practice and paying with your time and effort you earn the real skills, physique, and health benefits of your training. I also discuss how my teachers Ba Gua Zhang Master Zhang Hua Sen and Chen Family Tai Chi Master Chen Xiao Wang escaped hardship by mastering their arts. This is somewhat different than the sacrifices required in modern life. When you decide to become skillful and spend the time and effort you will also meet your own mind, and train it and your will power to keep your feet on the path and heading toward your goal. On the West coast of the USA we were starting to come out of our pandemic isolation only to be driven back inside by massive fires and smoke. How do we cope with all of this? It seems to be a bit much sometimes, perhaps even a bit overwhelming. However, we do have the tools and the methods to take care of ourselves. But do we have the will to use them? Hi! My name is Megan Gallagher! I’m a 24-year-old 2x TED Talk Speaker, #1 Best-Selling Author, AfterBuzz TV Host, Anxiety Advocate for Teens + Podcast Host. Growing up I struggled severely with chronic anticipatory anxiety and panic attacks. Despite having a supportive family and great friend group- I felt alone and uneducated about mental health issues, loving myself and how to be in-tune with my body. From ages 6-17, I became a prisoner to my own mind’s power. During my time in High School, I started experiencing up to 20 panic attacks a day and noticed that I was having a hard time balancing my social life, academics and personal life. Despite having my struggles, I still loved helping others and was the advice giver of my friend group. Everywhere I went, I always had a feeling of constant dread and worry. What if? I would think that thought at least 100 times a day. Our School would have so many people come by and do assemblies about peer pressure, say no to drugs and how to prepare for College. Yet they were never about mental health, finding your passions, loving yourself or how EVERY teen feels overwhelmed about grades, their body and what they are going to do in their life! When I turned 14, I realized that I needed extra help. I sat my parents down and vented to them about these episodes. Soon after, I began down the road of seeing a therapist, exercising daily, establishing healthy routines every morning and night, trying EFT tapping, meditating and journaling. It truly takes work to feel better, but I wouldn’t trade my journey for the world. I learned so much about myself and that our pain is really our purpose. During my Freshman year of College, I had a health scare that genuinely changed my perspective on life and how important it is to do what you love… soon after I left School to really find my soul’s purpose. At 20 years old, I started out by speaking at YMCA’s and Boys & Girls clubs for free and after three years of hard, consistent work- my career has fully taken off. I got a TEDx Talk and now I travel the Country to speak! As a young adult, I truly feel that my calling in life is to help the next generation of teens by sharing my story. I currently speak at Middle Schools and High Schools across the Country about anxiety, loving yourself and being in tune with your body. I have worked very hard to create the space that I so desperately craved growing up. Having open, honest and positive conversations is what this generation of teenagers need. I believe some people are put on this earth just to help, heal and be a change agent in other people’s lives.

Weekly Announcements April 12, 2020 Hello VAPA Community! This is Dr. Trimis with a few announcements! ¡Hola Comunidad de VAPA! Este es el Dr. Trimis con algunos anuncios!   This week we at Legacy VAPA, and the rest of LAUSD, will continue teaching and learning remotely in a virtual or online environment. Please note that teachers will be holding regular office hours for students and parents to visit online three times a week and these hours are posted on our website (under “Our School”) and our social media platforms. You may also find the online schedule and many other resources at https://bit.ly/vapaonline During the office hour, you may contact teachers through e-mail, telephone if they have set-up a phone line for that, and some teachers will be holding open video conferences. I will have an office hour for parents and community on Thursdays at 3:30 pm. Mary is a part of the Project 19 commission series with the New York Philharmonic. Project 19 was born of the conviction that an orchestra can participate in conversations about social imperatives and even change the status quo. Through Project 19, the Philharmonic can mark a “tectonic shift in American culture,” says President and CEO Deborah Borda, by giving women composers a platform and catalyzing representation in classical music and beyond. Project 19 launched in February 2020 with the first six World Premieres. The Orchestra will premiere the next two commissions in May–June 2020, followed by eight premieres in the 2020–21 season. The final three commissions will be premiered in future seasons. On this episode we discuss oppression, boundaries, adversity, comfort zones, and so much more.
