Starting with the new Porsche 911 hybrid which now gets a 3.6-litre, flat-six hybrid power plant. Prices for the Porsche 911 Carrera start at ₹1.98 crore and the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS start from ₹2.75 crore. From fast supercars, we move to hot hatchbacks in India which is about to get a new entrant in the form of the Tata Altroz Racer. First showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and then at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2024, the Altroz Racer is finally ready for the Indian market. Powering it will be a 1.2-litre, turbo-petrol mill, making 118bhp and 170Nm, which is 8bhp and 30Nm more than the regular Altroz hatchback. From the business side, Land Rover will manufacture their flagship SUVs, the full-size Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, locally in India starting this month. India becomes the first country outside of the UK, to build the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport. This move means that the LWB Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport will now have a slightly reduced price if you wish to buy one. Bentley Motors, the British luxury car manufacturer, will operate under Skoda Volkswagen Group India from 2025 Lastly, from the motorsport world, the 2024 Indian MotoGP or the BharatGP has been canceled due to expected weather conditions. But it's not all sad news, the organisers are aiming for a March 2025 calendar slot and the option of pre-season testing is also being evaluated. In this episode I'm joined by Katrina Reader who currently works as a HR Associate for one of the Big Four accountancy firms in the UK.I was absolutely blown away and utterly impressed with Katrina. Her story is a perfect case study in how to give yourself the best chance of securing employment post-university.Katrina did a BA in Human Resource Management but was very conscious that it would be highly advantageous to get some practical experience on her CV. So not only did she choose an undergraduate course that had a one-year vocational placement as part of the programme but Katrina also maximised her chances by doing some volunteering work.Her first role was to volunteer at a charity and she gained some basic administration skills. This was followed by a period of work for a recruitment agency, doing Right To Work checks, placing adverts, and screening applications. Both of these helped her secure a job with Bentley Motors for her placement year, beating all the competition to work for this highly respected brand.By the time Katrina graduated from university, not only did she have a First Class HR degree to her name, but she also had two years worth of practical work experience on her CV. This put her in the top 10% of graduates who entered the job market and ensured she got offered a permanent role - again with a highly revered organisation.This an absolute MUST Listen for anyone currently in university! His three cars, which had led from the start, were missing. Two years running he had failed to finish. Once again he was staring into a void. Racing, his shareholders told him, was a waste of money. This race looked like being his last. W.O's engineering skills had been forged on the Great Northern railway and in the skies of the First World War, where Bentley-powered Sopwith Camels took the fight to Germany's Red Baron. Determined to build and race his own cars, he assembled a crack team from all strata of 1920s Britain, from East End boys Leslie Pennal and Wally Hassan to multi-millionaires Woolf Barnato and Tim Birkin, men in search of adventures to blaze their way out of the dark past. Jeffrey Kuhlman is Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at Bentley Motors, Inc. Jeff was serving as communications chief for the U.S. arm of the British luxury automobile brand when he added marketing responsibilities in 2016. He reports to the president of Bentley USA as well as the U.K.-based global communications director. Jeff is an auto industry comms veteran, having worked for several automobile brands during his career. In addition to Bentley, which he joined in 2015, he’s filled communications shoes at Nissan, Audi, and General Motors. GM was his longest stint, extending 22 years until 2006 when he began a five-year engagement as chief communications officer at Audi. He handled jobs from speechwriter to environmental communications for Cadillac, GM Truck, and other divisions. Here are some key takeaways from this interview.    You can still have events safely during a pandemic if you follow health guidelines. As a brand that emphasized in-person events as a key marketing channel, Bentley needed to find a way to keep bringing customers and prospects together with its cars and people face-to-face. They found it in the form of limited-contact get-togethers with small numbers of people where effective social distancing was observed along with effective exposure to the brand and the vehicles.   If you’re looking for a mentor, don’t look far. The best mentor is probably someone you’re already working with or for. This person will be familiar with your work and be senior enough to give you some insight into what you’ll face as you ascend the ladder; and, ideally, a push from behind if you need it. Start by just hanging around and asking questions. If the connection is there, then and only then inquire about the prospects for being mentored.   Addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion starts as an inside job. If your brand isn’t working to be more fair and just with its own employees, it won’t be perceived as credible by those outside the company. For Jeff, this starts with discussing what diversity and inclusion mean to your team members and identifying the current challenges and opportunities there.   To craft the professional future you want, stay curious, and close to your passion. Jeff’s career with General Motors took off when he was challenged to master advanced automotive technology. That showed him the value of learning and staying interested and curious. Later, when he returned to the U.S. from Japan, he was motivated in part by a passion to return to a more boots-on-the-ground mode of working than he was getting as global head of communications for Nissan.   If your brand is celebrating a major anniversary, focus as much or more on the future as the past. For Bentley’s “Beyond 100” initiative, marking a century of existence, the brand naturally looked back at its legendary designs but also emphasized what it was doing to attract tomorrow’s buyers. It’s Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story to save you time.   PANASONIC TO SUSPEND BATTERY PRODUCTION AT TESLA GIGAFACTORY "Panasonic announced that it will scale down operations and temporarily suspend lithium-ion battery cell production at the Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada (for 14 days) due to the coronavirus outbreak." reports InsideEVs: "The news follows Tesla's announcement about closing the Fremont factory and New York factory on March 24, but is quite surprising, as Tesla did not give any sign - on March 19th - that the Gigafactory will also be closed. At the moment there is also no official comment from Tesla."   Here is the statement: Panasonic is committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of every employee. The Panasonic factory in Sparks, Nevada will begin ramping down operations early next week and will then close for 14 days. Employees impacted by the closure will receive full pay and benefits for the 14-day period. In the meantime, Panasonic has enacted several measures to enhance the cleanliness of the facility, encourage social distancing, and enable simple, safe and effective behaviors. Ford calls it “a unique, immersive, and interactive experience designed to help consumers make an informed choice on electrified vehicles. Recently, the Norwegian Automobile Federation put the 20 of the best-selling battery-electric vehicles in the country to the test, to see not only how winter weather affected their range but also their charging times." says Autoblog: "On average, electric vehicles lost 18.5% of their official driving range as determined by the European WLTP cycle. Electric vehicles also charge more slowly in cold temperatures.  Hyundai Kona, which lost only 9% of its official range, which the WTLP rated at 449 kilometers, or 279 miles, compared to its EPA-rated range of 258 miles on a full charge. Filld is a gas delivery app and service based in the Bay Area, who services fleets nationwide and just launched a pilot consumer delivery service in Seattle (they already had consumer service delivery in Silicon Valley). The tech startup was founded in 2015 and has raised over $16 million in capital to date. Filld is creating a flexible fuel infrastructure so we can live in a world where all forms of energy are more accessible. In a digital world where gas stations are disappearing, consumers can have someone fill up their car while it sits on their drive. However, Filld is not just about consumers, it also helps businesses such as car2go, Bentley Motors, Volvo, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car that struggle with the time constraints and fraud implications of fueling entire fleets of vehicles.  I speak with Michael Buhr (the CEO and President) and discuss what a future without gas stations looks like and the changing "last-mile" of the retail fueling space.

She comes with over 30 years experience in collectively-owned, worker-run businesses, as well as management experience in several progressive for-profit ones. Darlene has been active in grassroots and local campaigns, starting in Dade County, Florida in the Pitts and Lee Defense Committee; organizing against the Edelin decision; participating in the Vietnam Moratoriums; coming to the SF Bay Area at the time of the People’s Bicentennial actions; on to the Bakke case; the Briggs initiative and other ad hoc actions. She worked in several movement collectives supplying educational, management and process assistance to left, progressive and labor organizations. In addition to having the privilege of working almost continuously in social change collectives, Darlene has been involved in the rich activist work in the Bay Area, as well as inspired by the Bay's abundant and astoundingly varied cultural scene. Darlene has worked on production of several books in the Herotica series by Down There Press, as well as writing for and editing a book of essays on feminism and sexuality, published by Frog in the Well. Jyarland Daniels Prior to joining Race Forward, Jyarland Daniels was the Executive Director of The Metropolitan Detroit Truth & Reconciliation Commission on Racial Inequality where she led a community-based effort to conduct an analysis of structural and institutional racism in metro Detroit. Ms. Daniels, a 2012 graduate of Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, MI, chose the field of law to pursue justice, equality and be a voice for those facing discrimination on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation and/or economic class. Prior to her legal studies, Ms. Daniels earned an MBA from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor (2003) in marketing and finance. She has been a successful manager in corporate America, utilizing her talents in communication, team building and project management. Jyarland’s marketing and communication skills led to her success in well-known organizations including Hallmark Cards, Johnson & Johnson, Ford Motor Company, and Bentley Motors. Ms. Daniels has lived in Japan and attended school in Germany and Japan. She has also had various international work assignments which have enhanced her ability to understand and effectively communicate across cultures. She is a proud parent of a 14 year-old son.
