In this episode of PivotMe, April dives into one of the sneakiest ways we sabotage ourselves: saying yes after a string of no's. Our brains often trick us into believing we “deserve” a reward after sacrifice—even if that yes derails our goals. April shares how to recognize this moment of weakness, why it happens, and how to build the self-awareness needed to stay aligned with your bigger vision. She emphasizes the importance of being intentional in decision-making, ensuring that every yes or no moves you closer to the life and business you're building. What You'll Learn in This Episode: How your brain uses “rewards” to justify a yes after multiple no's. How to be intentional in decision-making and outsmart your brain. The power of saying the fourth no with the same energy as the first. Why awareness is the first step in stopping sabotage. Quote to Remember: “Your brain will try to trick you into a yes after sacrifice—but the true reward is staying aligned with your goals.” – April Key Takeaway: High performers don't just say no once—they say no consistently, even when their brain is screaming for an easy yes. That consistency is where the magic happens. ______________________________________

We explore practical ways to shift self-defeating patterns, strengthen follow-through, and how to use tools like hypnosis and NLP as complements, not quick fixes, on the path to growth. For more than four years, we produced two episodes per week.....like clockwork. 419 episodes in a row without a single miss. Then, something happened. We decided to skip one episode, which led us to take a week off, which led us to take two weeks off, which eventually led us to take nearly three months off. If we give ourselves an inch, we'll take a mile. In today's episode, host Travis Shelton discusses the dangers of excuses and justifications. If we're not careful, even giving ourselves an inch of excuse can cause a snowball of failure. "Stop seeing things as a loss. It's not a loss—God is removing it because it cannot go with you into the next season of your life." —Daniel Gomez Ever felt like you're stuck in a holding pattern, afraid to take that next step because it means letting go of what you know? The truth is that the next level of success, peace, and joy in your life is waiting for you, but it requires a brave decision. Daniel knows what it's like to resist change and call it “fine” when it's really fear. From his own journey of cutting out habits, deepening his marriage, and trusting God in uncomfortable seasons, he's learned that upgrades don't happen without surrender. His insights hit hard because they're lived, not just taught. Listen in for a raw, practical conversation on why partial obedience is still disobedience, how to stop self-sabotage in your faith, marriage, and money, and why not everyone is meant to go with you to your next level. Press play, accept the upgrade!
In “Total War: Weapons of Self-Sabotage” Pastor Landon Wray and Pastor Devin Hutchinson uncover how believers can become their own worst enemy. This message will equip you to lay down these traps and walk in the victory Christ already secured.

They share stories from their own lives and from their clients. They talk about how it's okay to mess up, how you're going to face tough moments, and how your old habits (or "old identity") can try to pull you back. But they also talk about how you can win those battles by getting support, learning new tools, and doing hard things even when it's uncomfortable.Chapters(00:00) Kicking Off a Real Conversation on Change(01:18) Why Change is Hard: It's Not Just About Being Busy(03:39) The Battle Between Your Old and New Identity(04:45) Losing Battles Doesn't Mean Losing the War(07:12) Life Will Always Happen—Don't Let It Be Your Excuse(09:11) The Invisible Ceiling: Fears of Success and Self-Sabotage(12:33) Breaking Through Self-Limiting Beliefs(13:03) Chase Gets Real: His Own Identity Shifts and Struggles(15:44) Coaches Who Call You Out (Because They Care)(18:04) You Become Who You're Around(21:43) Loving the Idea of Change vs. Doing the Work(24:02) Hiking the Hard Road: Why the Hard Way Feels Better(28:28) Wanting Results Without the Work? In this week's solo episode, I'm diving deep into the noisy, messy world of our inner saboteurs — the critical, self-doubting, perfectionist parts that keep us spinning in circles, stuck in old stories, and wondering why change feels so hard. Marking the second anniversary of my mother's passing, I reflect on healing complicated relationships, the nature of forgiveness, and what it really takes to grow when you're still grieving. You'll hear personal stories, hard-earned wisdom, and a real-time look at how I navigate the inner voices that try to hijack my progress and joy. Pulling from my work with clients, my own healing journey, and tools like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Voice Dialogue, I'll show you how to work with these parts — not by silencing or shaming them, but by meeting them with compassion and curiosity. If you've ever felt like your inner critic just won't quit…or like you keep getting in your own way… This episode is for you. 3 Takeaways from This Episode:
We all wish to overcome our self-sabotage. Clearing up unresolved issues from past lives is a powerful way to do so.
Send us a textEver feel like you're working ALL the hours, creating endless content, and spinning your wheels but still stuck in the same place? Rachel gets brutally honest about the ONE thing that's actually holding you back in your network marketing business (spoiler: it's not your company, your team, or the economy). In this no-fluff episode, she breaks down the three sneaky ways you're sabotaging your own success and shares the exact mindset shifts you need to finally get out of your own way and start seeing real traction.Key TakeawaysStop letting "perfection paralysis" keep you stuck – Your website doesn't need to be flawless, your reels don't need to be Oscar-worthy, and your funnel doesn't need to be perfect before you launch. Remember: perfection is just fear in high heels – she looks cute but she's still the same person holding you back.Consistency beats capability every single time – The problem isn't that you're not talented enough; it's that you're not staying focused on ONE thing long enough to see results. Stop idea-hopping between building your team, creating courses, starting podcasts, and joining new companies.Busy work doesn't equal income-producing activities – Creating endless Canva designs, tweaking your Instagram bio for the 47th time, and researching for hours isn't moving the needle. Safe doesn't get you paid, and low-risk activities keep you broke.Your self-sabotage patterns are actually signs you're ready for your next level – Instead of seeing perfectionism, shiny object syndrome, and invisible hustling as proof you're not cut out for this, recognize them as flashing signs that you're ready to level up.The solution isn't more strategy – it's getting out of your own way – You already have the skills, knowledge, and potential. The only thing standing between you and your goals is the fear-based decisions you're making as the CEO of your business.Your success has already happened – you just need to believe it – Have a conversation with the version of yourself who's already accomplished everything you want. What would she tell you about where you are now? When you truly believe your success is inevitable, you'll start acting like it.Call to ActionReady to stop overthinking and start getting actual results with what you already have? Why do we sometimes get in our own way, even when things are going really well? In this episode, we unpack the sneaky ways self-sabotage shows up in our lives—whether in relationships, career, or even moments of peace and happiness. We explore the beliefs that fuel it (“What if it all gets taken away?” “Do I really deserve this?”), and how old family patterns may have shaped what we think love, success, and safety are supposed to look like. Together, we share personal stories of times we've caught ourselves sabotaging, the emotions that come up when life feels too good, and the practical tools we use to break the cycle. You'll walk away with insights on how to recognize your own patterns, how to push through self-sabotage, and most importantly—what it looks like to actually let things be good. Bruce Lee once said “Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference. Words are energy and they cast spells.” At the time, this sounded a little crazy, but with modern science, we can understand this more. Your words literally change your biology, and both positive and negative words have power of your mind, your body, and your health. This episode dives into the science and practical applications of positive affirmations, vibrations and freuency as taught by other scientists that we've had on the show like Dr. Gerald Pollack and Dr. Bruce Lipton.
