You've been undercharging. You've been giving away too much. And every time a client pushes back on price, you fold before they even finish the sentence. Here's the truth: the problem isn't your pricing. It's your positioning. And the moment you stop apologizing for your value is the moment everything changes. Chris Do is the founder of The Futur and has taught hundreds of thousands of creatives, entrepreneurs, and builders how to charge what they're actually worth. He's built a career mastering the art of negotiation, personal branding, and pricing psychology, and in this episode, he's breaking down the exact frameworks that separate people who get paid like amateurs from people who get paid like experts. In this episode, you'll learn: Why charging more is more ethical than charging less and how underpricing hurts your clients, your team, and your ability to deliver real value The with or without you energy: how to walk into every negotiation knowing you're the prize and why neediness kills deals before they start Price bracketing: the exact way to present your pricing so clients anchor high and negotiate themselves up instead of down Why most entrepreneurs don't have a marketing problem, they have a positioning problem, and how being specific makes you more money than trying to serve everyone The mindset shift that lets you charge 10x more: understanding that money is a construct, scarcity creates value, and brand is what makes people pay premium prices for the exact same thing Stop selling yourself short. Start owning your value. The clients who can't afford you aren't your clients. The ones who can are waiting for you to believe it first. ___________ (00:00:00) Introduction: You Are the Master of Your Destiny, Not the Client (00:00:40) The Chris Do Move: How to Ask for What You're Worth Without Being Delusional (00:02:48) With or Without You Energy: The Mindset That Changes Every Deal (00:07:01) Charging More Is More Ethical Than Charging Less (00:08:53) The Pricing Game: Price Bracketing, Anchoring, and Never Justifying Your Number (00:12:50) How to Find Out What Clients Really Have: The Budget Excavation Method (00:17:01) The Manipulation Behind Luxury Goods: Stories, Scarcity, and Status (00:22:48) Money Is a Construct: The $800 Day Rate Story and Playing the Game (00:25:05) From Vietnam to Mercedes: Writing Your New Self-Story Through Mastery (00:27:16) What Is Brand and Why Does It Matter More Than Marketing (00:31:13) Don't Try to Be Better, Be Different: The Sea of Sameness Problem (00:32:25) The Imogene and Willie Test: What Story Are You Telling Yourself (00:35:18) Fake It Till You Make It or Believe It Till You Achieve It (00:37:41) You Don't Have a Marketing Problem, You Have a Positioning Problem (00:42:03) The Three Monsters: Perfection, Advice, and People Pleasing (00:49:15) Visualizing Success: Designers Are Futurists Who Imagine the Optimal Path (00:54:52) Passion Follows Mastery: The YouTube Origin Story (00:59:25) The Rich Owner Versus Poor Owner Mindset: Business Archetypes and Self-Sabotage (01:05:54) I'm My Own Number One Fan: Loving Yourself and Handling Trolls (01:09:37) Infusing Soul Into Your Brand: Flip the Cliché and Build Your World ___________ MORE FROM BIGDEAL

Most people trying to get healthier are losing a battle they don't know they're fighting. It's not a lack of information. It's not even a lack of effort. It's something quieter — the stories running beneath the surface, the environments they've stopped noticing, the split-second decisions that feel small until they're not.Martin Silva has spent 20 years coaching people out of the patterns that keep them stuck. A former competitive natural bodybuilder who hit the aesthetic ceiling and found it hollow, he now works with high-achievers in their 40s and 50s — people who are disciplined in every area of life except this one.In this conversation, Martin unpacks the real architecture of lasting change: why willpower always fails, how your circle quietly shapes your body, why doing less in the gym often produces more, and what it actually takes to stop starting over. The information was never the problem.BIG IDEAIt's way easier to avoid temptation than it is to resist it — and no one gets healthy by relying on willpower.Martin Silva - Contact InfoWebsite: OptimiseYourBody.comPodcast: Martin Silva FitnessInstagram: Martin Silva FitnessSend Dr. Ovadia a Text Message. Why do so many of us self-sabotage right when we're on the verge of success? Bands break up right after getting signed. Entrepreneurs burn out the moment they hit their goal. Athletes choke when they realize they're winning. In this episode, Joe and Brett explore the surprising mechanics behind the fear of success — and why it turns out to be nearly identical to the fear of failure. Brett opens with a personal story from a base jumping world championship where he realized mid-competition he was winning — and immediately couldn't hit the target again. From there, they unpack what's actually happening in the head, heart, and nervous system when we get close to what we want, and why expanding your capacity to feel is the real key to sustainable success. Together, they explore: Why bands often break up right after getting signed The identity crisis that gets triggered by winning Why success and failure are both states of nervous system arousal The window of tolerance — and why too much pleasure can feel as threatening as too much pain How the same emotional avoidance shows up on both sides of a decision Why billionaires often burn out and can't get out of their pajamas Letting success obliterate identity (instead of inflating it) "Don't let success go to your head" vs. fully feeling success in your body Clean fuel vs. dirty fuel — letting in the reinforcement loop of why you do the work Why fear of success is really fear of life The difference between humility as smallness and humility as a deep bow Concrete practices: visualizing both complete failure and complete success, emotional inquiry on the avoided feeling, expanding your nervous system's capacity for pleasurable arousal, and deconstructing who you think you'll be on the other side Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Most people think giving away their power is obvious. They think it looks like toxic relationships, difficult bosses, manipulative people, or circumstances beyond their control. But some of the biggest ways we give our power away are much more subtle. They show up in our everyday thoughts, habits, expectations, relationships, and the stories we tell ourselves. In this episode of Cacao Conversations, we're exploring the less obvious ways we unknowingly hand our power over to other people, situations, and even our own conditioning. We talk about: • waiting for permission before taking action • making other people responsible for how we feel • the need to be understood, validated, or approved of • expectations and attachment to outcomes • comparison and self-doubt • ignoring our intuition and inner knowing • the stories and identities that keep us stuck • why trying to do everything alone is also a form of giving away our power Most people think power is something they need to gain. What if power is less about gaining something and more about recognizing where you've been giving it away? This conversation is an invitation to become more aware, more intentional, and more honest about the patterns that may be draining your energy without you even realizing it. Because reclaiming your power doesn't always require a dramatic life change. Sometimes it begins by noticing the small leaks. And once you see them, you can't unsee them. New episodes of Cacao Conversations drop weekly. Sip. Last week I talked about killing the nice guy. This week I'm speaking to the other side of the same wound. When masculine presence is absent from a relationship, a woman fills the space the only way she knows how. She takes control. Of everything. This episode is about why she does that, where it comes from, and what it actually takes to create the conditions where she can start to let go. I'm drawing directly from Dawn's and my 17 years together, including the patterns that nearly killed our relationship and the slow, unglamorous work that turned it into something neither of us could have built alone. In this episode: Why the wounded masculine and wounded feminine mirror each other in polarity inversion Why healing looks fundamentally different for men and women, and why that asymmetry matters The concept of existential vulnerability, and why a woman's healed state requires a kind of courage that men rarely have to face Why "a healed woman doesn't exist without a healed man" isn't codependency, it's physics Dawn's story: the rigid religious upbringing, the self-abandonment that got rewarded as obedience, and the lie her whole life was built around Why the control pattern runs all the way down to survival, and why telling her to "just let go" is like telling an angry person to calm down What it actually means to hold her, not with promises, but with presence she can feel Why this process is slow, what it looks like in real time, and why it's worth every bit of it CHAPTERS & TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Nice Guy Recap 02:10 Polarity Inversion Explained 03:54 Control Patterns and Stress 07:16 Why Surrender Is Hard 08:34 Hold Her Not Fix Her 13:14 Modern Roots of Distrust 19:31 Self Sabotage in Love 20:58 Childhood Conditioning and Perfection 31:36 Life Built on a Lie 36:19 Why Letting Go Feels Unsafe 40:10 Safety Takes Years 43:34 Grief and Being Held 46:29 Healing Together 48:04 Closing and Reviews

Your subconscious mind is running 95% of your decisions. Your conscious mind, the part that's setting goals, making resolutions, and telling itself to do better, is only working with the remaining 5%. That gap is why knowing what you should do is never enough. Thais Gibson has spent over a decade building a framework that actually closes that gap. She is a counselor, founder of the Gibson Integrated Attachment Theory™, and has worked with over 60,000 people through The Personal Development School. In this episode of Habits and Hustle, she breaks down why self-sabotage is not what we all think it is, how your attachment style is quietly running your relationships, and the exact process to rewire patterns you have been carrying since childhood. This is one of those conversations that will make you look at your own behavior completely differently. What's Discussed: (00:05) The real reason your conscious goals keep losing to your subconscious programming. (15:30) What your attachment style is actually telling you about your childhood. (29:00) The attachment combination most likely to end in a vicious cycle. (45:00) Why dating a secure person does not fix an insecure attachment. (58:00) That one belief that's quietly destroying your ability to connect. (1:05:00) What limerence is and why people mistake it for love. (1:15:00) The five pillars to rewire your attachment style at a subconscious level. (1:20:00) Why affirmations do not work and what to do instead. Thank You to Our Sponsors! There is nothing we love more than a good listener question episode. It is the absolute best way for my Business Superpowers co-host, Lau Lapides, and me to connect directly with you bosses and dig into what you are actually experiencing in your daily business. Recently, we combed through a handful of listener questions, and one from a listener named Ben immediately stopped us in our tracks: "What are voice actors wasting the most time on right now?" Oh boy. Get comfortable, because Lau and I did not hold back. From the black hole of digital over-exposure to the exact mechanics of a genuine read, we broke down what you need to stop doing—and what you need to start focusing on—to take your business to the next level. Episode Chapter Summaries Chapter 1: The Trap of Self-Sabotage and Analysis Paralysis (00:01 – 04:10) Anne kicks off the listener Q&A with Ben's question about where voice talent waste the most time. Lau immediately calls out the silent killer of VO careers: intentional or unintentional self-sabotage. She describes how talent waste massive amounts of mental energy second-guessing auditions, wondering why they didn't get a booking, and obsessing over whether a client "liked" them. Anne shares how surviving cancer completely transformed her perspective in the booth, freeing her from minor anxieties and giving her permission to just have fun, audition, forget it, and move on. Chapter 2: Fantasizing vs. Actively Doing the Hard Work (04:11 – 07:53) Anne and Lau shift the spotlight to a different kind of time-wasting: thinking about the work instead of actually doing the work. They discuss talent who get trapped "fantasizing" about the perfect gig or complaining that they "just need to market more" without sending a single email. Lau warns that a wild creative imagination is a gift for acting, but a massive liability when it comes to the logical, disciplined day-to-day realities of running a small business, tracking invoices, and practicing script homework. Chapter 3: Digital Exposure, Brain Overload, and the Power of the "Share" (07:54 – 13:42) Lau introduces the danger of digital over-exposure and "dopamine addiction" online. Anne admits to the ongoing battle of keeping too many browser tabs open (shoutout to all the fashion buffs out there!), and Lau explains how overdosing on digital stimuli—even high-intensity entertainment like horror movies or daytime dramas—can alter your brain waves and derail your focus. To combat isolation and comparisonitis, they recommend building a tight-knit inner circle of colleagues to break your mental bubbles and celebrate wins constructively. Chapter 4: The Myth of the "Easy" Read and the Olympian Metaphor (13:43 – 16:44) The hosts tackle the frustrating reality that both new talent and bad clients minimize the value of voice acting because "it looks easy." Anne uses a great metaphor involving the Southern California lottery for Olympic tickets: elite gymnasts and swimmers make their movements look completely effortless, yet no one assumes they can jump onto a balance beam and replicate it. Professional voice acting requires the exact same unseen, high-level athletic discipline. Chapter 5: Gravitas, Empathy, and Decoupling the "Low Voice" (16:45 – 19:14) Anne raises another major listener question: What does authenticity actually sound like, and how does it relate to the industry's current obsession with "authority"? Lau notes that breakdown specs are constantly demanding "gravitas" and "assertiveness," especially for women. However, they debunk the myth that gravitas requires an artificially low pitch. True authority comes from a deep frame of reference and understanding your target market's specific culture—whether you are a 48-year-old corporate narrator or an 8-year-old expert talking about Pokémon. Chapter 6: The "physicating" Framework and Keeping Auditions Raw (19:15 – End) Anne breaks down the exact training method she teaches in her precision narration classes: acting is never a primary action; it is always an empathetic reaction to a problem. She shares her famous "Jersey Girl" driving example to outline her step-by-step performance framework: Breathe, Focus, Physicalize (or "Physicate"), and Speak. Lau and Anne close the show by urging talent to stop editing out the raw, human elements of their commercial and animation auditions, opting for a bit of authentic grit over artificial perfection. Top 10 Boss Takeaways Ditch the audition autopsy: Wondering why you didn't book a gig is a form of procrastination. Fire off the audition, forget it completely, and redirect that energy into your next project. Analysis leads to paralysis: Second-guessing the client's internal thoughts stops your creative momentum. Give yourself permission to fail forward. Discipline your imagination: Your creative brain is a beautiful tool for script interpretation, but keep it out of your business operations. Run your invoices, tech updates, and marketing with cold, hard logic. Guard your digital environment: Overdosing on social media scrolling and endless digital tabs alters your focus. Protect your mental health by setting strict boundaries on your screen time. Break the isolation bubble: When you find yourself trapped in a negative mental rerun, pick up the phone or hop on a call with a trusted business peer who can ground you back in reality. Immunity over insecurity: Stop letting other people's online wins trigger your insecurities. Use your community's success stories as a roadmap to learn what is currently working in the marketplace. Effortless execution takes years: If your delivery sounds like "just reading," you are doing it right. Treat the illusion of simplicity as a professional compliment, but never let a client use it to devalue your rates. Gravitas isn't a vocal register: True authority and credibility have absolutely nothing to do with how low your voice can go. True gravitas is rooted in confidence, presence, and direct connection. Master the art of "Physicating": Before you speak a single word of a script, run through Anne's four pillars: Breathe naturally, Focus on the unwritten moment before, Physicalize the reaction with your body, and then Speak. Keep it a little dirty: Stop turning in overly polished, perfectly scrubbed, sterile audio files for commercial and animation auditions. Leave the natural breaths and human imperfections in the track—casting directors want a real human being, not an algorithm.

Today’s episode is a special rebroadcast of one of my all-time favorite conversations on the B.rad Podcast! Every so often, I like to revisit episodes that made a profound impact on me personally and delivered tremendous value to listeners, and this conversation with Thais Gibson is absolutely one of those episodes. I am so pleased to introduce a fantastically awesome show with Thais Gibson, creator of the Personal Development School! When Thais first sent me an overview of what she wanted to discuss, I thought, "Sure, let's talk about it." But I have to tell you, I was completely blown away. This became one of my favorite shows I have ever recorded. Listeners, I truly believe this episode has the potential to be life-changing. I know it was for me. It probably helped that I unknowingly became the guinea pig for much of the conversation. What you'll hear is essentially a live coaching session where Thais demonstrates her expertise and methods using real-life examples from my own experiences—particularly the disconnect between my stated goals and some of my behavior patterns. We focused on the pursuit of wealth and financial security, an area where I occasionally feel frustrated or deficient, perhaps because of subconscious patterns operating beneath the surface. Thais explains the causes of self-sabotage and how to reprogram limiting thought patterns. One of the most fascinating parts of the discussion is when she explains that we're operating from our conscious mind only about three to five percent of the time. If you're someone who listens to podcasts, reads books, and continually educates yourself, your conscious mind may be doing a great job acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. But your subconscious needs and programming can still interfere and pull you off course. So in this episode, it's time for Brad to get processed, dig deep, and explore what's really happening when self-sabotage kicks in. Thais Gibson is a counselor, bestselling author of Learning Love, and co-founder of the Personal Development School. She holds a Ph.D. and more than 13 certifications in modalities including CBT, NLP, somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems, shadow work, and hypnosis. After nearly a decade running a successful private practice, she founded The Personal Development School—an online learning platform designed to provide a more accessible and authentic way for people to transform their lives. In fact, after we finished this recording, I enrolled immediately. I encourage you to visit her website and explore what she offers. She offers a test run where you can see what it’s all about—check it out at personaldevelopmentschool.com. Enjoy this special rebroadcast with Thais Gibson! TIMESTAMPS: People may not always be aware that they are self-sabotaging because it usually occurs at a subconscious level. [00:53] Your conscious mind is responsible for roughly 3 to 5 percent of all of your beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions or decisions. Your subconscious is responsible for 95 to 97 percent. [04:48] We all have subconscious personality needs. [07:54] Thais uses Brad as an example to unpack what needs it relates to. She asks first, what does he do in his spare time? [09:34] Where does he spend his money? What does he like to learn about? [12:10] Our subconscious mind is also the host of all of our limiting beliefs. [19:46] There is a tool for how to pull up what your limiting beliefs are. [21:42] We're scared of something that's hidden in the periphery at a subconscious level of mind [24:29] Reconditioning is a tool for reprogramming. [26:25] Thais identifies characteristics of people who have been in a relationship with a narcissist. [30:41] Look for the things that trigger you. Plan your limiting belief and use its opposite. [33:02] Step one: What is your core belief and its opposite? Step two: what are 10 memories to support? They can be recent memories, really old memories, doesn't matter. 10 memories to support this new idea about yourself. I am, in fact, good enough. Step three: listen back for 21 days. [34:17] When thinking about financial security, many people struggle with their subconscious as in feeling they don’t deserve it or some parts of society that have a distaste for the inequitable distribution of wealth. [43:10] There are seven areas of life that need attention. Career, financial, mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and relationship. To ignore one area, we will pay for it later. [52:45] What specific things or set of things are you going to do on a daily basis to reprogram? [59:13] So much futile energy and effort toward change without addressing these core issues is going to be tough. [01:06:13] LINKS: Brad Kearns.com BradNutrition.com - 20% OFF Your First Order! Reactive Distraction and Self-Sabotage: Protecting Your Boundaries   Juan talks about recording this short episode while feeling time pressure to get home to help his sick wife and 1-year-old, using this as an example of "reactive distraction" in his BS (blind spot) model: leaking energy by reacting to interruptions and obligations that don't match the urgency. He shares cases like choosing to help a friend despite needing to work, getting calls from daycare about his 3-year-old's anxiety-related "sickness," taking a non-urgent call during a cautious gym session with an injured ankle, and home contractors running late, all of which trigger guilt, people-pleasing, or avoidance of harder tasks. He argues the issue isn't the events but the mindset and lowered boundaries, and urges listeners to identify where they unconsciously "lower the drawbridge," calibrate responses to true urgency, and protect time without becoming rigid or militant.   00:00 Why I Self Sabotage 00:58 Reactive Distraction Explained 01:25 Gas Tank Analogy 02:08 Helping Drew vs Work 03:13 Daycare Call Dilemma 05:19 Gym Injury and Phone Call 06:52 Contractor Chaos at Home 07:41 Boundaries and Blind Spots 09:42 Call to Action and Wrap Up

Most self-sabotage isn't a discipline problem — it's an unconscious pattern problem. In this episode, I break down something most people struggle to see clearly: the patterns driving self-sabotage are often unconscsherryshabanvious.A lot of people know something is off — stress, emotional triggers, or repeated behaviors — but still can't trace where it's actually coming from. This episode brings clarity to that gap.Instead of trying to fix behavior at the surface level, I guide you into identifying the thought loops underneath it.Why You Can't Always See Your PatternThere's a difference between:conscious thoughts (what you notice)unconscious patterns (what actually drives behavior)Unconscious beliefs live in the nervous system and quietly shape:emotional reactionseating behaviorsrelationship patternsself-sabotage cyclesThis is why awareness alone sometimes feels incomplete — the real driver is often deeper than thought.Pattern #1: Birth Trauma (The World Feels Unsafe)This pattern shows up as an unconscious sense that the world is unsafe or unpredictable. It can look like:chronic anxiety or hypervigilanceassuming others can't be trustedfeeling unsafe in neutral environmentsapologizing for your existencefear without a clear sourceAt its core, this pattern keeps the nervous system in protection mode.Pattern #2: Parental Disapproval ConditioningThis pattern forms when approval or emotional validation felt inconsistent growing up.It can show up as:never feeling “good enough”overworking for recognitiondifficulty feeling satisfied with achievementsneeding external validation to feel secureWorth becomes tied to performance instead of inherent identity.Pattern #3: The Unconscious Death UrgeThis is the “shutdown” or withdrawal response that appears when change feels overwhelming. It sounds like:“What's the point?”“Why bother?”“Nothing will work anyway”“I've tried everything”It often appears right before growth opportunities — not because change isn't possible, but because the system is resisting effort and uncertainty.Pattern #4: Negative Thought Loops (What If Thinking)Two dominant patterns show up here:What If Down Thinking:What if it doesn't work? What if I fail? What if I get rejected? What If Up Thinking:What if it works? What if something shifts? What if I succeed? Most people live primarily in “what if down” without noticing how much it shapes behavior.Struggling with emotional or binge eating?
