This listener Q&A episode tackles the most common fasting challenges with evidence-based solutions, addressing Monica's self-sabotage pattern after reaching new low weights by explaining the body's three-pronged defense system (defend phase preventing further loss, restore phase increasing regain rate, and prevent phase reducing future weight loss probability) that creates powerful physiological resistance requiring equally comprehensive counter-strategies. The hosts reveal how metabolic adaptation activates during weight loss like a toddler throwing a tantrum, making the body fight harder at new weight thresholds, while providing practical "when-then planning" to manage the slippery slope of increased hunger and reduced willpower that emerges from dopamine deficits caused by sleep disruption and stress. They address Emily's two-week plateau after losing seven pounds initially with 20:4 fasting, explaining the critical distinction between water weight loss from glycogen depletion versus true fat loss, recommending the Blueprint to Fasting for Fat Loss resource and strategic window timing adjustments to restart momentum. Patty's wine consumption question during OMAD receives honest analysis of alcohol's metabolic priority over fat burning, sleep disruption effects reducing next-day metabolic efficiency, and dose-dependent impact on hormones especially for postmenopausal women, with recommendations to shift from daily to occasional consumption strategically timed for better recovery. The episode covers supplement timing during fasting windows (berberine, creatine recommended daily for consistency despite potential stomach sensitivity), addresses sleep disturbances from excessive 48-hour fasting during maintenance (recommending 24-36 hour alternatives to protect sleep quality over marginal metabolic gains), and explains post-meal walking benefits for glucose management through skeletal muscle uptake and improved insulin sensitivity, even when continuous glucose monitors show delayed rather than reduced spikes. Throughout, Scott and Tommy emphasize viewing fat loss and maintenance as a continuum rather than separate phases, building sustainable habits during weight loss that seamlessly transition to lifelong maintenance, positioning their upcoming pre-Thanksgiving seven-day challenge as strategically timed to establish momentum before the holiday season while reinforcing that successful fasting integration requires addressing foundational lifestyle factors of stress, sleep, food relationships, and mindset alongside fasting schedules. In this episode of The Feminine & Ambitious Podcast, I'm diving into the real-life changes I made once I started studying neuroscience and understanding how our brains truly work. When you learn the science behind habits, thoughts, emotions, and energy — you can't unsee it. I'll walk you through 8 powerful things I stopped doing (and what I started doing instead) that have completely changed how I think, how I manifest, and how I create results in my life. This episode is for every ambitious woman ready to upgrade her mindset, release self-sabotaging patterns, and finally feel in control of her inner world. You'll learn about: ✨ Why overthinking and rumination are keeping your brain in survival mode ✨ The neuroscience behind why “positive thinking” alone doesn't rewire the mind ✨ What I stopped doing that instantly improved my focus, mood, and manifestation results ✨ How to train your brain to feel safe, worthy, and abundant again ✨ The feminine way to work with your brain, not against it

Next, Nick reacts to Shedeur Sanders' "silent interview" following the announcement that Dillon Gabriel will be the Cleveland Browns' starting QB ahead of their Week 5 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings after the team benched Joe Flacco. Is Shedeur sabotaging his own career? How has Deion Sanders impacted the early stages of Shedeur's career? Later, Nick discusses whether the San Francisco 49ers should regret signing Brock Purdy to one of the largest QB contracts in the league. #VolumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this raw and real episode of Business Men of Influence, host Tim Holloway sits down with ethical sales coach and mindset disruptor John. What starts off as a hilarious intro quickly dives deep into the gritty truths behind self-sabotage, the hidden cost of success, and the real reason many entrepreneurs stall out just when the breakthrough is near.John shares his wild ride through car sales hazing, MLM flops, and selling $21K pools, only to eventually build a thriving business that's helping salespeople 9x their income and repair their relationships. But this isn't just another rags-to-riches story. This is about what really keeps good men stuck: guilt, shame, and the lies we tell ourselves to avoid responsibility. You'll hear how internal sabotage isn't failure, it's your soul crying out for alignment. John unpacks the eight dynamics of life, the trap of chasing status, and how true power starts with serving others (not yourself).5 Takeaways:Self-sabotage often comes from unaddressed guilt or avoidance of responsibility.Your mental and spiritual state directly affects your ability to make money.Confidence isn't something you wait for, it's built by doing the hard thing anyway.Sales success is rooted in deep communication, not manipulation.True joy (and results) come when you stop thinking about yourself."You're only as alive as you're expanding, and self-sabotage is just your soul trying to stop you from hurting others."

Angela and special guest Peter Crone look at the psychological barriers that prevent people from overcoming negative, repeated life patterns, asserting that these habitual actions are merely symptoms of deeper, unaccepted subconscious beliefs about oneself. They examine the concept of the "fresh start effect" and explains that true freedom from a cycle of self-sabotage, whether in relationships, finance, or career, begins with the radical acceptance of one's past KEY TAKEAWAYS: Repeated negative patterns are symptomatic of unrecognised, deeper subconscious constraints and self-views, rather than the core problem itself. The "I could have done this" or "I should have done that" narrative is a lie that serves only to reinforce the ego's view of itself as inadequate, keeping a cycle of self-judgement alive. True breakthrough and high performance come from accepting your personal history completely, using the logic that "what happened happened and couldn't have happened any other way because it didn't," which eliminates the psychological time of past regret and future worry. The fear of the unknown is a misconception; people are actually scared of what their brain, using a history of failures, is superimposing onto the blank canvas of the future. TIMESTAMPS AND KEY TOPICS: The idea that patterns are symptomatic of something deeper (03:52) The profound quote on accepting your past (09:59) The story of the professional athlete who was told he had the "capacity to suck" (14:38) The final, liberating thought on why people fear the unknown (22:42) VALUABLE RESOURCES Join The High Performance Health Community Click here for discounts on all the products I personally use and recommend Link to full episode ABOUT THE HOST Angela Foster is an award winning Nutritionist, Health & Performance Coach, Speaker and Host of the High Performance Health podcast. What if the words you speak are quietly rewiring your brain—and sabotaging your progress? In this episode, Jenna unpacks the surprising difference between saying “I can't” and “I don't.” Neuroscience shows that these tiny shifts in language light up different parts of the brain: “I can't” creates resistance and triggers rebellion, while “I don't” builds identity and self-control.You'll even hear about the famous brownie experiment, where people who said “I can't eat dessert” gave in far more often than those who said “I don't eat dessert.” Why? Because “I can't” feels like a restriction from the outside, but “I don't” is a choice rooted in empowerment. If you've ever wondered why you sabotage yourself with good intentions, this episode will show you how a few words can change everything—from your habits to your mindset to the way you carry your identity.Click here to Book a coaching with Jenna --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Want to join Jenna's Bible Habit group- become a $9/month sponsor of our podcast & you get access to the Private Group, monthly calls & more - Click this link to start patreon.com/TheHabitLab You can start at any point in the year!
"At M2 The Rock, we fully respect the anonymity of all 12-step fellowships. In alignment with their traditions, we do not represent or speak on behalf of any of these groups. Our mission is to share hope, not affiliation."About M2 THE ROCK - MICHAEL MOLTHAN:I'm Michael Molthan, host of The M2 The Rock Show—one of the fastest-growing podcasts and shows on self-improvement, mental health, addiction recovery, and spiritual transformation. I'm so grateful you're here.I started M2 The Rock in 2017 to bring you conversations designed to make you happier, healthier, and more healed. Through raw and unfiltered discussions with experts, celebrities, thought leaders, and athletes, we uncover new perspectives on personal growth, recovery, and overcoming life's toughest challenges. My Story:What sets my journey apart is that there wasn't just one rock bottom—there were many. From being a successful luxury homebuilder to falling into addiction, homelessness, crime, and eventually 27 mugshots and prison, my life was in absolute chaos.Addiction was my temporary escape from childhood trauma, but it only led to destruction. It wasn't until I hit the lowest point imaginable that I finally found true freedom, redemption, and purpose. After an unexpected early release from prison in 2017, I walked 300 miles back to Dallas to turn myself in—only to be miraculously pardoned and told to “pay it forward.”And that's exactly what I've been doing ever since. My MissionI believe that rock bottom is not the end—it's a stepping stone to something greater. My goal is to redefine what "rock bottom" means by helping others rebuild their Spirit, Mind, and Body. On M2 The Rock, I speak openly about trauma, addiction, recovery, and the power of transformation. I don't shy away from topics like:✅ Trauma & Addiction – Understanding the root causes✅ Self-Sabotage & Mental Health – Breaking negative cycles✅ Codependency & Enabling – How relationships impact recovery✅ 12-Step Programs & Spiritual Healing – Finding true freedom✅ Religious Trauma & Personal Growth – Healing from past wounds"Everyone Is An Addict."Whether it's substances, work, validation, or negative thinking, we all have something we struggle with. But recovery is possible, and transformation is real.

I needed to step away from the ADHD Writer's Summit. In this episode I share about what led me to this decision: the wall I hit around capacity, unstable meds, reflection in therapy. I'm unpacking the guilt of saying no, and how I'm learning to see these moments as reparenting and care instead of spiraling into shame. If you've ever wondered whether your ‘self-sabotage' is really just your neurodivergent support needs showing up, this one's for you.

When Self-Sabotage Shows Up… You're Closer Than You ThinkSelf-sabotage isn't proof that you're lazy, unmotivated, or failing. It's actually proof that you're standing at the edge of your next level. That's why it shows up when things are about to shift. The Conscious Edge Podcast: Redefining Wealth as a Whole Human Experience
In this episode we're talking about the truths we often avoid — the ones that feel too heavy, too risky, or too painful to face. These are the truths about ourselves, our relationships, and our lives that we push aside in the name of comfort, control, or keeping the peace. But avoiding them doesn't make them disappear. It only keeps us stuck in the very patterns that drain us. Together, we'll explore why these truths are so hard to look at, how they show up in everyday life, and what begins to shift when we stop running from them. If you've ever felt that quiet nudge that something isn't working — but you've been afraid to name it — this conversation is for you. Three Takeaways 1. Clarity is freeing, even when it hurts. Avoiding truth costs you more than facing it. 2. Truth builds self-trust. Every time you admit reality, you strengthen your ability to handle it. 3. Facing truth is an act of courage. And it opens the door to healing, better choices, and peace. Avoiding truth doesn't protect us. It only drains us, leaks out sideways, and keeps us living smaller than we're meant to. We all want to make a difference with our work. The trouble is that the busyness of a coffee shop tends to pull our attention in a million different directions and we rarely get an opportunity to see if indeed we are making that difference. This leads to a lot of stress, burn out, and a demoralization that can easily shut down a business by first shutting you down as the leader. Today on shift break, we are going to be talking about some mindsets and strategies you can use to checkin in on and stay connected to the truth of the situation. The truth is you are doing better than you think and your continued work, when done in honor of your existing good work, is way more sustainable. Times are tough, it's time that you carved out time to see the truth and discipline yourself to reflect on the good as you go. Are you settling for a “make it work” marriage when you could build an extraordinary one? Most couples drift into survival mode—roommates, not lovers—because they've never seen an amazing marriage modeled… and no one taught them the skills. In this episode, Greg & Rachel Denning share how to raise your marriage standard, resolve conflict fast (the “anatomy of an argument”), and build a shared vision that turns everyday life into marital bliss—without pretending problems don't exist.Big idea: If you're not deliberately working on your marriage, you're automatically working on your divorce. You'll learn how to stop the same old fights, praise small efforts to reinforce positive change, schedule what matters (yes, intimacy!), and use the compound effect to transform your relationship. Whether things are tough or “fine,” these tools help you move from okay → incredible so your kids grow up with healthy models of love. What you'll learnRaise the standard: Why “make it work” is too low a target—and how high expectations create more happiness.Anatomy of an argument: Resolve conflicts quickly (not fake fixes) and stop weaponizing old grievances.Shared vision: Practical steps to get on the same page even if personalities and goals differ.Reinforce progress: Praise small attempts (date night invites, thoughtful gestures) so they happen more often.Schedule what matters: How planning creates space for connection & intimacy—instead of constant friction.Compound effect: The habits you invest in today build your legacy tomorrow.Key Takeaways✅ If you aren't intentionally improving your marriage, you're unintentionally degrading it.✅ High standards produce higher joy and better outcomes.✅ Conflict ≠ contention—you can disagree respectfully and resolve fast.✅ Model love for your kids by prioritizing the relationship at home.✅ Small, consistent actions compound into an extraordinary marriage.Chapters00:00 The Importance of Marriage02:56 From Mediocre to Extraordinary05:53 Setting High Expectations for Marriage08:25 Conflict Resolution in Marriage11:51 Self-Sabotage in Relationships16:43 Creating Mental Space for Intimacy18:16 The Importance of Retreats for Couples18:49 Investing in Marriage: The Compounding Effect20:28 Breaking Generational Patterns in Relationships22:17 Creating a Shared Vision for the Future22:44 Raising the Standard in Marriage24:36 The Role of Coaching in Relationship Growth27:04 The Value of Investing in Your MarriageMemorable Quotes

Send us a textIn this powerful episode of Living the Dream with Curveball, we are joined by Emma Lyons, a trauma-informed healer and the founder of the Trauma Matrix. Emma reveals her unique five-step process for breaking up with this inner critic, emphasizing the importance of recognizing it as an external force rather than a part of oneself. Have you ever wondered why you make some choices? It feels like you sabotage all your good efforts. Many people know what they need to do for long-lasting health and weight management, but implementing that knowledge can feel impossible. This is where the mind management comes in. Dr Mary and Dr Lucy talk about how to handle difficult moments and big feelings without emotional eating. They explain what mindset really means-it’s not about being tough or disciplined, but about learning to manage your thoughts and feelings so you can make better choices for yourself. The doctors share real life stories, including times they felt let down, upset, or ashamed, and show how they dealt with those feelings in a useful way.
The Uplift app is here! Try it free for 30 days Picture this: you finally land the promotion, your launch hits six figures, your relationship feels like a rom-com—and then boom. Out of nowhere, you start unraveling. You forget the meeting, pick a fight over the dishes, or come down with a mystery illness right before the big presentation. Sound familiar? You're not alone in this. You're not broken. You're not failing. You're just bumping up against something called the Upper Limit Problem—a sneaky little mindset trap that psychologist Gay Hendricks describes as your brain's way of keeping you "safe" in your comfort zone. Here's the truth: your mind isn't trying to sabotage you—it's just scared of expansion. It thinks success is risky. But we're not here to play small anymore. It takes courage to step into the unknown, and we have that courage within us. Today, we're breaking through that invisible ceiling. We're talking about how to stop self-sabotage, stretch your capacity for joy, and step boldly into the life God's calling you to—without shrinking back. Because the answer isn't hustling harder, it's healing deeper. It's growing bigger from the inside out. We've been watching talented, capable financial coaches hold themselves back from doing their best work, and it has nothing to do with skills or caring. They'll create a freebie but never really put it out there. Someone asks about their coaching, but they don't follow up. They get invited to present at a workshop but decide “now's not the right time.”It's not that they don't want the results on the other side. It's not that they're not capable, even if it feels a little scary. So why aren't they taking action on the things they say they want to do?What we're seeing is a fear of failure epidemic that's showing up in ways that might surprise you. It's creating this cycle where people avoid taking meaningful action because they're terrified of not getting it right. But we live in a world where everything feels permanent and public. Social media makes it so your mistakes can follow you forever. There's this pressure to have everything figured out before you even start, which creates paralyzing perfectionism where people would rather do nothing than risk doing something imperfectly. And our environment makes it easier than ever to avoid the challenging work that creates real results. When something feels hard, there's always an easier alternative just a swipe away. You can spend hours watching videos about marketing strategies without ever implementing a marketing strategy, which tricks you into feeling like you're working but leaves you confused about why you're not getting results. The irony? You're listening to this podcast right now, learning instead of doing. And that's exactly the trap. But what if instead of quietly shrinking away and not doing the thing you said you wanted to do, you committed to what we're calling “loud failure”? What if you decided that if you're going to fail either way, you'd rather fail by actually putting yourself out there?Because wouldn't it be cool if being okay with loud failure meant you were doing the hard things—talking more, presenting more, offering to help people more—and maybe, just maybe, those things would actually make you successful?Links & Resources:Join the MastermindUltimate Growth GuideJoin the Facebook groupKey Takeaways:You'd rather spend three days writing the perfect email sequence than three hours making phone calls, because one feels safe and the other doesn't. But only one actually gets you closer to new clients.“Good enough to move on” is your new standard, not perfection. Embrace it instead of staying stuck in endless revision cycles. If you're going to fail either way, fail loudly by putting yourself out there rather than quietly shrinking away and creating the very failure you're trying to avoid.Productive procrastination keeps you busy with tasks that feel important but don't move your business forward, like researching every certification instead of just starting to help people.Choose one source of business education and stick with it for a month. Consuming information from multiple sources creates overwhelm and imposter syndrome, not progress.Discomfort is a sign of growth, not a warning to stop. Learn to dance with your fear instead of running from it.Break big goals into smaller actions: instead of “make $100,000 this year,” commit to “have 5 Q&A calls this week.” The smaller step is what actually gets you there.
In this episode of Beyond Limits, Liv sits down with Krista Williams—co-founder of Almost 30, podcast host, speaker, and author—to dive into what it really takes to stop self-sabotaging, embody self-love, and find harmony between your masculine and feminine energy.Krista shares her own story of moving through rock bottom moments, rebuilding from the inside out, and learning how to embrace all parts of herself—not just the shiny, polished ones. Together, they explore how identity gets wrapped up in old stories, why radical self-acceptance is the foundation of transformation, and how to create structures that actually support freedom. You'll hear practical insights on parts work, cultivating an anchored sense of self, and how to stop pendulum swinging between extremes. Krista also opens up about listening to intuition even when it's inconvenient, and how true balance isn't about perfection—it's about wholeness.Key Takeaways

In this episode of Intuition: Your Success Compass, I explore how self-doubt and inner saboteurs like the Judge and the Avoider often wear the mask of procrastination. What if that “lazy” label you've given yourself is actually a shield against the fear of being brilliant? We'll talk about how small, compassionate steps (what I call micro wins) can help you shift from self-criticism to self-trust, and why your discomfort might actually be a signal that you're ready to grow. Whether you're building a business, writing that long-postponed blog post, or facing a personal challenge, the key is recognizing the brilliance that's already inside you. If you've ever stalled on your dreams and called it procrastination, this episode is your reminder that fear of potential is real, but it doesn't get to drive. #Procrastination #FearOfPotential #InnerSaboteurs #IntuitiveCoach #SelfConfidence #MindsetShift #womeninbusiness
