L'histoire d'Adam Rainer aurait pu se lire dans un livre fantastique, aux côtés de L'Étrange Cas de Benjamin Button. Considéré comme nain durant son adolescence, il devient un géant à l'âge adulte. Son histoire est pourtant bien vraie. Celle d'un homme dont l'étrange maladie a déformé son corps.

Chapter 19 of Leviticus has been characterized as a parallel to the Ten Commandments. Rav Hiyya explained that the reason it was to be read “unto all the congregation” is because most of the essential laws of the Torah can be derived from it. (Leviticus Rabba 24). I invite you to read it! It is in my humble opinion, far superior to the Ten Commandments. It’s lyrical in the way it seamlessly moves from the ethical to ritual. It calls the lie to anyone who would distinguish between ritual law and moral law…. As Everett Fox writes: “[It] is wide-ranging and rhetorically powerful. It extends holiness to virtually all areas of life – family, calendar, cult, business civil and criminal law, social relations, and sexuality.” (The Five Books of Moses, Everett Fox p. 600.) What detracts from the breadth of vision, is the emphasis in the preceding and following chapters (Leviticus 18, also read at the afternoon service of Yom Kippur, and chapter 20) which seem to be fixated on sexual perversion of every kind.. and I mean every kind, including incest, bestiality and homosexuality. I would have you consider that much of what the Torah detests about sexual deviation, has nothing to do with being puritanical and disrespectful of alternative gender definitions and preferences. To the contrary, it prescribes that every human being enter a relationship and find a help mate. The following survey focuses on the two headed statues from ‘Ain Ghazal the earliest of their kind to have been discovered so far in an attempt to establish their significance. The Sages in early Talmudic times knew the myth of the primeval androgyne and used it to account for the contradiction between the two stories of creation. In the Midrash, the first human being, the 'Adam', was androgynous, incorporating the genitals of both sexes, and the tale of the creation from the rib in Genesis 2 provides for the separation of the two sexes of the primeval body, reconstructing them as two human bodies. According to the Babylonian Talmud (Berakhot 61a; Erubin 18a), Genesis Rabba 8.1 and Leviticus Rabba 14 (fifth century), the man was created dipros?pos, 'two faced' (VDliHD-n), that is, male and female (Meeks 1974:186). 'Two faced' is a way of describing Adam, the first human being, with out the use of corporeal or sexual terms, a euphemism for the bisexual progenitor of the human race. Historically speaking, androgyny symbolizes the perfect human being: female attributes cast into a male vessel. In the Mesopotamian creation myths, the human body is a divine creation made of clay in which divine ingredients are mixed. It is not defined according to gender; it was produced in a single process before the existence of sex and gender, and therefore encompasses every possible gender. Only in the second creation were male and female couples created with genital organs vital for the reproduction of the species (Asher-Greve 1998: 29). בראשית ב׳:כ״ג (כג) וַיֹּאמֶר֮ הָֽאָדָם֒ זֹ֣את הַפַּ֗עַם עֶ֚צֶם מֵֽעֲצָמַ֔י וּבָשָׂ֖ר מִבְּשָׂרִ֑י לְזֹאת֙ יִקָּרֵ֣א אִשָּׁ֔ה כִּ֥י מֵאִ֖ישׁ לֻֽקֳחָה־זֹּֽאת׃ Genesis 2:23 (23) Then the man said, “This one at last Is bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh. This one shall be called Woman, For from man was she taken.” רש"י על בראשית ב׳:כ״ג:א׳ זאת הפעם. מְלַמֵּד שֶׁבָּא אָדָם עַל כָּל בְּהֵמָה וְחַיָּה, וְלֹא נִתְקָרְרָה דַעְתּוֹ בָּהֶם (יבמות ס"ג): Rashi on Genesis 2:23:1 זאת הפעם THIS NOW — This teaches that Adam endeavoured to find a companion among all cattle and beasts, but found no satisfaction except in Eve (Yevamot 63a). בראשית ב׳:כ״ד (כד) עַל־כֵּן֙ יַֽעֲזָב־אִ֔ישׁ אֶת־אָבִ֖יו וְאֶת־אִמּ֑וֹ וְדָבַ֣ק בְּאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ וְהָי֖וּ לְבָשָׂ֥ר אֶחָֽד׃ Genesis 2:24 (24) Hence a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, so that they become one flesh. רש"י על בראשית ב׳:כ״ד:א׳ על כן יעזב איש. רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ אוֹמְרָה כֵן לֶאֱסֹר עַל בְּנֵי נֹחַ הָעֲרָיוֹת (סנהדרין נ"ז): Rashi on Genesis 2:24:1 על כן יעזב איש THEREFORE A MAN LEAVETH — The Divine Spirit says this, thus prohibiting immoral relationship to the “Sons of Noah” also (Sanhedrin 57b). in other words, the source of unchaste sexual behavior (“Arayot” in Hebrew) is when a man does not leave his father and mother… sister, brother etc. but mates with them! סנהדרין נ״ז ב:י׳-י״א אימא בת נח שזינתה לא תיהרג דכתיב (בראשית ב, כד) על כן יעזב איש ולא אשה א"ל הכי אמר רב יהודה (בראשית ב, כד) והיו לבשר אחד הדר ערבינהו קראת"ר איש מה תלמוד לומר (ויקרא יח, ו) איש איש לרבות את הכותים שמוזהרין על העריות כישראל Sanhedrin 57b:10-11 Rav Avya asked further: Why not say that a female descendant of Noah who committed adultery should not be executed, as it is written: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24); a man, but not a woman? Rav Pappa said to him: This is what Rav Yehuda says: At the end of the verse it states: “And they shall be one flesh.” The verse then combines men and women, indicating that the same halakha applies to both. § The Sages taught in a baraita with regard to the verse: “No one [ish ish] shall approach any that is kin to him, to uncover their nakedness” (Leviticus 18:6): The verse could have stated: One [ish] shall not approach. Why must the verse state “no one”? It is to include the gentiles, who are prohibited from engaging in forbidden sexual relations, as Jews are. ויקרא כ׳:י״ז (יז) וְאִ֣ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יִקַּ֣ח אֶת־אֲחֹת֡וֹ בַּת־אָבִ֣יו א֣וֹ בַת־אִ֠מּוֹ וְרָאָ֨ה אֶת־עֶרְוָתָ֜הּ וְהִֽיא־תִרְאֶ֤ה אֶת־עֶרְוָתוֹ֙ חֶ֣סֶד ה֔וּא וְנִ֨כְרְת֔וּ לְעֵינֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י עַמָּ֑ם עֶרְוַ֧ת אֲחֹת֛וֹ גִּלָּ֖ה עֲוֺנ֥וֹ יִשָּֽׂא׃ Leviticus 20:17 (17) If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, so that he sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace; they shall be excommunicated in the sight of their kinsfolk. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister, he shall bear his guilt. רש"י על ויקרא כ׳:י״ז:א׳ חסד הוא. לְשׁוֹן אֲרַמִּי חֶרְפָּה חִסּוּדָא; וּמִדְרָשׁוֹ אִם תֹּאמַר קַיִן נָשָׂא אֲחוֹתוֹ חֶסֶד עָשָׂה הַמָּקוֹם, לִבְנוֹת עוֹלָמוֹ מִמֶּנּוּ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (תהילים פ"ט), עוֹלָם חֶסֶד יִבָּנֶה (ספרא; סנהדרין נ"ח): Rashi on Leviticus 20:17:1 חסד הוא IT IS A WICKED THING — It is an Aramaic expression, the Hebrew חרפה (disgrace) being in that language חסודא (cf. Onkelos on Genesis 34:14). A Midrashic explanation of it (of חסד הוא) is; If you should say, "But Cain married his sister!" then I reply, Cain's case was an exceptional one; an act of kindness (חסד) was done by the Omnipresent in order that His world might be built up through him (i. e. He made the propagation of the human race possible through this union), as it is said (Psalms 89:3) "The world was built up through חסד, loving-kindness" (Sifra, Kedoshim, Chapter 11 11; Sanhedrin 58b). The biblical premise remains… inbreeding is a rejection of God and a rejection of God’s role as man’s only ruler. Royalty wants to mix and re-mix it’s blood to protect their superior “blue” blood and to justify the subjugation of the commoner and stranger. God wants us, wherever possible, to leave our father and mother and create our bloodline with our fellow human commoners. ויקרא י״ח:כ״ב (כב) וְאֶ֨ת־זָכָ֔ר לֹ֥א תִשְׁכַּ֖ב מִשְׁכְּבֵ֣י אִשָּׁ֑ה תּוֹעֵבָ֖ה הִֽוא׃ Leviticus 18:22 (22) Do not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is an abhorrence. To claim that one can have a child, without the need of the other sex, is to claim divinity…. and therefore an abomination.
Dansk litteratur oversvømmes i denne tid af romaner om store kunstnere, og i denne udgave af Skønlitteratur på P1 kan du møde malerne Kristian Zahrtmann (1843- 1917) og Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916). De optræder i henholdsvis, 'Adam i paradis' af Rakel Haslund-Gjerrild og 'Kvinde set fra ryggen' af Jesper Wung-Sung. Selvom Zahrtmann og Hammershøi var næsten samtidige, kunne man næppe finde to større modsætninger i dansk kunsthistorie. Zahrtmann elskede stærke farver og erotiske nøgne mandemodeller, mens Hammershøi holdt sig til de grå nuancer, når han malede sin kone, Ida - altid i en ærbar og ofte bortvendt position, og mens Zahrtmann var en festløve af rang, afskyede Hammershøi det sociale liv i sjælden grad. I udsendelsen fortæller de to forfattere om at skildre de kendte kunstnere og deres modeller, og vi får smagsprøver på begge romaner. Lytterne får også et portræt af den epoke, de to malere levede og skabte i; nemlig begyndelsen af 1900-tallet, hvor der var kamp om både kunst, seksualitet, videnskab og teknologiske fremskridt. "Le péché en nous n'intéresse pas Dieu : ce qui l'intéresse, c'est nous." Anne Lécu est médecin en milieu pénitentiaire. Dans son ouvrage "Tu as couvert ma honte" (éd. Cerf), elle explore notamment la métaphore de l'habit qui revient très souvent dans la Bible. Le vêtement que l'on porte pour cacher sa honte, la tunique avec laquelle Dieu recouvre l'homme de sa miséricorde... Autant d'images qui, d'Adam et Ève au Christ, jalonnent l'Ancien et le Nouveau Testament. "Notre innocence est notre identité la plus profonde" La honte et la culpabilité Au début du livre de la Genèse, l’homme et la femme se trouvent libres et sans honte devant Dieu qui les a créés à son image. Il a suffit de la parole d’un serpent pour que ce couple tombe dans la honte et la culpabilité. Alors qu’ils se cachent, Dieu part à leur recherche pour couvrir leur dénuement, une forme de bénédiction pour un nouveau départ. Le Dieu de la Bible est bien un Dieu d’amour qui n’a de cesse de nous couvrir de sa miséricorde, depuis le jardin d’Éden jusqu’au jardin de la résurrection. Chemin faisant, les pièces orales composent un fascinant jeu d'écriture, en forme de rebus circulaire, autour du cycle des saisons. Parfois caresses, tantôt gifles, les mots que l'autrice donnent à entendre flattent autant qu'ils procurent des frissons à l'échine. Ariane Lessard n'a pas son pareil pour harmoniser les différents styles de parole d'une oeuvre chorale qui célèbre l'écologie, le féminisme et les savoirs occultes. Entre colère et violence, c'est la vie qui veut éclore dans ce couvent fermé comme un poing. Marie est fille d'Ève. Le contraste entre Ève et Marie, la femme de la chute et la femme du salut, Dame Folie et Dame Sagesse, est une manifestation de la miséricorde de Dieu. Lorsqu'Adam est passé à côté de la parole du pardon, Dieu n'a pas rejeté sa famille, mais il lui a préparé la joie qu'une de ses filles soit choisie pour la libération de tous. La Nativité de la Vierge Marie est jour de fête pour la famille d'Adam.
En 2015, le pape François a décrété une Journée mondiale de prière pour la sauvegarde de la création. Et, depuis l'an dernier on parle de la Saison de la Création, à laquelle RCF consacre une programmation spéciale. L'occasion de se plonger dans les récits de la création. Pourquoi la Bible en compte-t-elle deux ? Que nous apprennent-ils ? De quelle manière nous mènent-ils à Dieu ? Réponses du prêtre et théologien Philippe Abadie. Ainsi débute le premier chapitre de la Genèse. Un texte qui raconte comment Dieu a créé le monde en six jours et comment, au septième jour, il s'est reposé. C'est "un texte très liturgique", nous dit le Père Abadie, puisque ce rythme de sept jours s'achève par le shabbat, qui est une célébration. La répétition du refrain "Et Dieu vit que cela était bon" correspond également à cette volonté de louer la beauté et la bonté de la création. Ainsi, on n'est pas tant dans une description de la façon dont Dieu a créé le monde, que dans "une célébration de l'acte harmonieux qu'est la création". Le second récit de la création Au chapitre suivant de la Genèse, Dieu crée le jardin d'Éden et donne vie à l'humanité. "Le second récit n'est pas exactement un récit de création." Beaucoup moins lyrique, il retrace l'histoire d'Adam et Ève, et "pose la question de l'homme par rapport à la création et par rapport à Dieu". Pour le bibliste, "c'est bien la liberté de l'homme qui est mise en jeu dans le second récit". Deux textes conmplémentaires Écrits entre les VIe et Ve siècles avant notre ère, pendant l'exil à Babylone, "une époque où Israël se pose des questions sur sa nature", ces deux récits sont contemporains. "Ils ne sont pas opposés mais ils sont deux voies proposées différentes." Il existe même une troisième voie dans le second Livre des Maccabées (aussi appelé Livre des Martyrs d'Israël), où le récit du martyre des sept frères avec la mère, propose lui aussi une réflexion sur la création.

Le jeudi 13 Août 2020, nous avons eu notre culte d’intercession. L’orateur du jour, notre Berger, le Pasteur Nomaq Muzembe nous a exhorté sur le thème : Les types de prière que nous devons faire / Genèse 3 : 21. S'il y a un nom qui est le plus cité sur terre est le nom de "Jésus-Christ". L’efficacité du nom de Jésus-Christ dépend de l'intimité de la personne qui le prononce avec Jésus-Christ. Le nom de Jésus-Christ, en hébreu "grec" veut dire "Le Dieu qui sauve". Le texte de Genèse 3 nous dit qu'après le péché d'Adam et Eve, Dieu leur a confectionné de habits avec la peau d'un animal. Pour sauver l'homme, Dieu va poser un acte, il va tuer un animal. Il nous montre ainsi qu'il n'y a pas de pardon de péché sans effusion de sang.
Pour l'année 2017, en France, on compte 228.000* mariages civils et 50.0657** mariages catholiques. Le mariage chez les catholiques en France a ceci de spécifique qu'il compte parmi les sept sacrements. Or, sur son site internet, l'Église catholique distingue les mariages dont les deux conjoints sont catholiques de ceux dont l'un des conjoints est catholique. Quelles sont donc les règles pour se marier à l'église ? Faut-il être pratiquant ? Pour quelles raisons se marie-t-on à l'église ? Marie-Ségolène Boiron, du cabinet Raphaël, évoque la profondeur et la spécificité du mariage chrétien. "Le mariage chrétien n'est pas une garantie de longévité, mais vivre ce sacrement de mariage au quotidien, beaucoup témoignent que c'est ça qui leur permet de durer" Le nombre de mariages en baissse À 3,6 pour 1.000 en 2015*, le taux de nuptialité ne cesse de baisser. Comme le souligne Marie-Ségolène Boiron, "les gens qui se marient représentent une minorité de la population, le mariage religieux c'est une toute petite minorité". On considère qu'environ 40% des mariages civils passent par l'Église, rappelle la conseillère conjugale. Beaucoup de mariages s'achèvent par un divorce : depuis 2014, le nombre a tendance à augmenter. "La rupture aujourd'hui de nombreux mariages amènent beaucoup de gens à dire finalement ce n'est pas la peine de se marier." Devant ce constat, le pape François invite au contraire les chrétiens à ne pas désespérer. Dans "Amoris laetitia", son exhortation apostolique sur l'amour dans la famille (2016) il explique que la réalité des séparations et des ruptures ne doit pas empêcher les chrétiens d'annoncer la bonne nouvelle du mariage chrétien. "Ce serait même un crime de renoncer à l'annoncer", soutient Marie-Ségolène Boiron. la vie commune perçue comme un test Autre tendance frappante, on se marie plus tard au-delà de 30 ans en moyenne. Et bien souvent, le choix de l'engagement dans le mariage intervient alors que l'on déjà bâti un foyer, voire construit une famille. "Aujourd'hui les jeunes n'arrivent plus de la même manière au mariage chrétien, constate Marie-Ségolène Boiron, le mariage vient valider une vie commune depuis quelques années." Deux ans, cinq ans, dix ans... Combien d'années de vie commune faut-il pour être sûr de son couple ? En effet, "il y a un désir de vérifier par la vie commune si le chemin du mariage est vraiment possible, chose qui ne se faisait pas avant". Et pour celle qui accompagne les couples, ce n'est pas dans le temps que l'on passe à vivre ensemble que l'on trouve la réponse à la question de savoir si on est destiné l'un à l'autre. Le sens du mariage chrétien "Le mariage chrétien n'est pas une garantie de longévité, mais vivre ce sacrement de mariage au quotidien, beaucoup témoignent que c'est ça qui leur permet de durer, et d'approfondir et de déployer leur amour." Pour les catholiques, et surtout depuis la théologie du corps de Jean Paul II, on considère le mariage comme le "sacrement primordial". Puisant dans la Genèse, le pape qui "a réhabilité le sacrement de mariage", a vu dans l'union d'Adam et Ève la première manifestation de l'alliance entre Dieu et les hommes. We have been speaking about moving from a barren desert to the field. The field is where we can cultivate, till the soil and work on it until we see the yield. But there is still something missing. Without the water, it is no good. Nothing will grow. We have mentioned a number of times that we need to put in the effort and then G-d responds. This is told to us at the beginning of Bereishis, where we see that water only came after humanity was in place - 'Adam was not there to work the ground'. And we explained that this refers also to prayer. If we pray, G-d responds. We will see how this is reflected - literally and metaphorically - on many levels. You know most of the time if someone genuinely likes you or not - one need not be a professional to sense the congruence between individuals in a room. We will see, as we have been discussing Korach, how the misplaced search for honour blinds a person. One can go down the wrong path, searching for the wrong goals. Cultivating weeds rather than crops. There is even a mysterious overlap between Korach and Haman in the fruitless search for unearned respect. Morever, we will encounter an incredible angle on water. Although it is life-giving and nourishing, it is also manifest in another form - where it becomes rigid and unyielding. This is ice - cold and unforgiving. It turns chesed to din in kabbalistic thought. Ice - kerach in Hebrew...I wonder if you've already noted the correlation - listen in to find out more...

The Arabic word 'Muslim' literally means someone in submission to the will and law of God. The Message of Islam has always been universal and meant for all people. Anyone who accepts this Message becomes a Muslim. One out of four persons on this Earth is a Muslim. There are 1.8 billion followers which equate to about 24% of the global population. While Islam is the world's second-largest religion, after Christianity, Islam is the fastest growing religion. Muslims are projected to surpass Christians around 2070 as the largest religious group in the world. While much may associate the religion of Islam with countries in the Middle East, only 18% of Muslims are Arabs & 82% of Muslims are non-Arabs. Muslims represent the majority population in fifty-six countries. The Muslim population is a diverse community of believers spanning the globe. There are many Muslims who live in Europe, South East Asia, & in the West. Islam is not limited to one ethnicity or group of people. Muslims are made up of people from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, races, cultures, and national origins. Whereas there are more Christians than Muslims, the religion that has the most followers practicing their faith and its rituals is Islam. There is a higher percentage of Muslims practicing Islam than Christians practicing Christianity. A Muslim is a person who submits his or her will to Almighty God, as he acknowledges that God knows what's best for him; so, he follows God's commandments for his own best interest. A Muslim is someone who lives to attain a higher purpose in life. A Muslim lives to better himself and the things around him. A Muslim lives following God's commandments so he can live a peaceful and happy life in this world, and so he can prepare himself for eternal joy in the next world. In Islam, worshipping God comprises every act, belief, statement, or sentiment of the heart which God approves and loves. Anything that brings a person closer to His Creator would be considered an act of worship. It includes physical and external forms of worship like the daily ritual prayers that Muslims are prescribed to do, fasting, and charity. It also contains internal worship such as faith in the Angels, God’s Books, and His Prophets. Acts of worship also include the loving of God, gratitude, reverence, and reliance on God. God is worthy and entitled to worship by the body, soul, heart & mind. In Islam, a Muslim is not someone who just knows the truth; a Muslim is someone that submits to the fact. A Muslim is someone that believes in God and Follow God's commands. Islam stresses belief does not just mean believing in one's heart, but also acting on the belief. Mere faith counts for nothing if not carried into practice. The purpose of Islam is not merely knowledge, it is the submission, and no belief or knowledge by itself can bring salvation. Even Satan believes in God as he has spoken to God. The Quran records a dialog between Satan and his Lord: "He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected. [ Allah ] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved. Until the Day of the time well-known." [Satan] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on Earth, and I will mislead them all Except, among them, Your chosen servants" (Quran 15:36-40) However, Satan disobeyed his Lord and refused, stubbornly and arrogantly to prostrate when his Lord commanded him to which showed a severe nature of arrogance, self-admiration, and pride. The fact that Satan believed in the existence of God without rightful action, did not benefit him. Satan became amongst the disbelievers because his belief was canceled out by his pride, arrogance, stubbornness, and his poor behavior before his Lord. Belief in God and action complement each other and are intertwined. Love manifests itself in action and belief in the heart results in good actions. If a man truly loves God, he would show it in his obedience to God's commandments to earn God's pleasure. Islam states that both inner beliefs, and outward actions, make up what is known in Islam as ‘Iman’ which translates to faith. When Muslims obey God's commandments, it does not deny them pleasures of this world. God made humans the successors of this Earth, God states in the Quran: "And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the Earth a successive authority..." (Quran 2:30) Islam states humans have been put here on Earth by God and they are to use the material means to build a positive life in this temporary world which will eventually lead them to a positive eternal life in the Hereafter. God states: "But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done well to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters" (Quran 28-77) Islam does not take the ability and the right to live well in this world. Instead, Islam teaches every experience one has in this world should be more than just that feeding moment. This world is much more than just living to entertain oneself and to accumulate material goods. A Muslim lives for a more superior and compelling reason. A Muslim lives to find purpose in his life and that purpose is to discover who created him, determine how his Creator wants him to live, and to build a relationship with him. The opposite of a Muslim is a ‘Kafir.’ The Quran warns one against being a kafir. The word kafir occurs over 150 times in the Holy Quran. The word kafir refers to something that is covered up or concealed. For instance, a farmer is also called kafir in the Arabic language–because a farmer covers seeds in the earth. The Qu ran uses the word kafir to describe a disbeliever because a kafir is one that is insincere in their life; deliberately rejecting the truth which they covered despite knowing its truth. A kafir is also someone that refuses to question the beliefs taught to them during their childhood. They blindly follow their forefathers without thinking, reflecting and pondering over their beliefs. They do not search for the truth. The word kafir in the west is usually translated to an infidel which is not the proper definition. The word infidel means someone who does not believe in God, whereas a kafir is someone that denies, conceals, or refuses the truth. A kafir is someone that rejects the truth or knows the truth but refuses to act upon it. A disbeliever is also someone that is ungrateful; who lives, hide, or cover in the darkness of ignorance. Islam does not teach to hate non-Muslims. Islam came to bring dignity to all human beings. The Quran explicitly states that the children of Adam are honored. God has given respect to all sons of Adam which would include every human. If God gives them respect, we certainly need to respect them. God States: "And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference" (Quran 17:70) The term 'Children of Adam' which God uses to refer to humanity, excludes any discrimination based on race, color, or gender. Human dignity is universal since all human beings are descendants of Adam. God also commanded His Angels to prostrate themselves in humility before Prophet Adam peace be upon him, the father of humanity, when he was created to elevate the status and honor of humanity. Also, God mentions in the Quran how He has honored the sons of Adams and made them noble by creating them in the best fashion and most perfect forms. "We have certainly created man in the best of stature" (Quran 95:4) God is very explicit in the Quran about treating non-Muslims poorly that even if one's parents are idol worshippers and forcing them to worship false gods, one should not worship those gods but should treat their parents with the utmost respect and love. During the time of our Prophet, Prophet Muhamad peace be upon him was sitting with his companions when a funeral service passed in front of them. Prophet Muhammad stood up. Then, one of his companions ask him, 'why are you standing? This is the funeral service of a Jew' Prophet Muhammad replied, 'Was it not a soul?’ He was teaching his companions that all humans are valuable. Islam teaches that the only real criterion by which one surpasses another is that of piety, God-consciousness in actions, and righteousness. "O mankind, indeed, We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted" (Quran 49:13) A Muslim is someone that doesn't make wealth, health and power his or her ultimate aims of in life. Whereas Muslims use these to live; it's not their aim or goal. Muslims have a much bigger aim in life than the gathering of perishable material goods. Since the life of Prophet Muhammad is filled with countless examples that show his status as a role model for humanity for all, including societies and individuals, one can find truths in Prophet Muhammad's life that make up an example for them to follow. His life was full of good manners, superior morality, generously, good habits, politeness, respect, gentleness, noble feelings and wisdom from God, all of which help mankind live a better, peaceful, and more comfortable life full of good. Emulating the Prophet would also help one from falling into error or sin. Prophet Muhammad is the sacred model for humanity to emulate and follow his footsteps as he was sent by God the All-Generous as an example of how one should live his life to the best of his ability. Thus, Muslims study the Biography of the Prophet Muhamad which they call Seerah. Muslims believe the most accessible road to goodness, moral excellence, and success in this life and the afterlife comes through an emulation of the Prophet. Muslims emulate Muhammad's faith, behavior, attitude, manners, patience, compassion, piety, and even daily tasks like the way he ate, drank, slept, interacted with others, etc. The teachings of Prophet Muhamad acts as a mercy and a healing for all of humanity. A Muslim is someone that continually tries to improve him or herself and tries to perfect his manners. Islam stresses the importance of ethical behavior. A Muslim is one that treats his parents, spouse, children, and family kindly. Islam forbids Muslims from mistreating and being unjust to their parents or family and made it compulsory for one to treat them with all goodness and mercy. "And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word" (Quran 17:23) Islam incorporates a basic set of rules designed to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals and communities. The Islamic concepts of freedom, human rights, and the ability for one to live in a secure community are embedded in and granted by Islamic law called the Sharia. One of the greatest sins one can commit to Islam is intentionally taking One's life unless it's for a just cause. A Muslim is one that gives charity, helps the needy, the poor, and orphans. Giving to the needy is not just recommended by Islam; it is required of every financially stable Muslim. Zakat (alms-giving) is an obligation for those who have been blessed with wealth from God to respond to those members of the community in need. A Muslim is one that lives with humility and does not live with pride or arrogance. Nor is a Muslim boastful or vainglorious. Islam condemns pride and self-righteousness. "And do not walk upon the Earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the Earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height" (Quran 17:37) Islam teaches Muslims the best way to greet his fellow brother or sister is with the Islamic greeting of 'As-Salam Alaykum' which translates to 'peace be upon you' which grants the other for protection, safety, security, and mercy from evils and faults. The name 'Al-Salam' is one of the names of God in Arabic, so it also means 'May the blessing of His Name (God) descend upon you.' No matter what nationality, ethnicity or color a Muslim brother or sister may be, it is an obligation for one to greet his fellow brother or sister as a family since all Muslims share the belief in One God and the last and final Prophet and Messenger Muhamad. Muslims are obligated to spread the word of Islam to others which is called Da’wah in Arabic. Da’wah translates to mean, ‘to call or to invite’. In the Islamic context, the word refers to calling, conveying, inviting people towards the Message of Islam, towards God, towards the Truth, towards the right path prescribed by the Almighty for all of mankind. The call of Da’wah invites, inclines, and encourages people to voluntarily submit to the Will of Allah, by worshipping Him alone and following His commandments. "Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in the best manner possible…" (Quran 16:125) Whereas Islam states guidance only comes from God, and no one can embrace Islam except with the permission and will of the Almighty, Muslims are still obligated to convey the message of Islam according to their capacity and circumstance. Muslims also remind, re-educate, and motivate current non-practicing to become better Muslims. According to Allah the Glorious, no one has a better speech than those who engage in calling upon others to his religion and way of life of Islam. The Quran says: "And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims" (Quran 41:33) There is no one whose speech is better than that of a person who calls people to the truth, for he is their guide to their Creator and Lord who removes people from their darkness of misguidance into the light of faith.
In these verses, St Paul contrasts life 'in Christ' with life 'in Adam', and challenges his readers to commit to the former. The contrast is spelt out as two kinds of 'slavery', two life stories, and two destinations. He warns the Christians at Rome against compromising their commitment to Christ.

D'une main aux ongles sans fin, il présentait un petit flacon sculpté contenant de l'huile et, de l'autre, une serviette plus ou moins propre. Ses petits yeux plissés étaient une invitation, pour son nouveau client, à s'installer sur une natte de son choix. On allait devoir agir : le temps s'écoulait et l'équipe d'intervention attendait un signal pour attaquer. La dernière étape se passerait donc en force. “Devant les deux types, il y a une place libre. Je m'occupe de celui de gauche.” souffla Stuffy. Désignant quelques ustensiles divers sur un présentoir, Ralato éloigna l'hôtesse tout en suivant docilement le petit vieux. Devant la natte vide, il enleva sa veste et fit mine de la tendre négligemment au garde de droite. Un peu ahuri, celui-ci regarda, ne comprenant pas. “Maintenant!” Un scan actif, l'onde la plus puissante possible pour un Mental, fusa droit sur le garde de droite, qui poussa un cri déchirant en se prenant la tête entre les mains ! Son collègue sursauta, offrant sa gorge à l'avant-bras Ralato qui lui écrasa la pomme d'Adam d'un coup sec. Alors que celui-ci s'effondrait en cherchant de l'air, Ralato sentit un danger dans son dos : il plongea au sol, évitant de justesse la main tendue aux ongles effilés du vieux, visiblement bien plus en forme qu'il ne le laissait croire. “Fais vite, je ne vais pas pouvoir tenir l'autre très longtemps ! ” Stuffy envoyait une onde d'attaque, la seule capable de percer les défenses d'un individu sous Boramol, mais cela demandait une énergie considérable : finissons-en donc vite ! Il accompagna le coup suivant du petit vieux en lui enroulant la main dans sa veste, comme pour se protéger d'un serpent, et, le déstabilisant, il le propulsa contre le second garde, lui plongeant la seconde main, aux ongles probablement empoisonnés, dans le torse ! Le temps que le vieux comprenne où il en était, Ralato lui brisait la nuque d'un claquement sec. Ne venait-il pas de sentir une sorte de jubilation du combat dans son esprit ? Cela ne venait pas de lui, donc Stuffy aimait la bagarre ? Normalement, même les derniers assistants devraient aider les vieux chefs à se sauver, mais ici non, ils semblent juste nous laisser un peu de champ libre.
