Was anyone expecting this cultural drama to actually have a complete thrilling sports scene in the middle of it? And does that shower scene mean there is footage out there of Damon and Fraser dong? Those films should ring bells for you and for good reasons. They're fantastic. Wind River being 10/10 easy if not more. Cut to Those Who Wish Me Dead. A Slow burn in a 99 minute shell. A man and his family become targeted for assassination and when they are attacked on the open road, his son escapes into the forest only to run into a woman on fire watch while still being chased by two government trained assassins. Good cast and solid performances by people who do well in their respective rolls. Angelina isn't a show stopper but pretty good. Aidan Gillen and Nicholas Hoult and Jon Bernthall are also great with Finn Little as a newcomer also holding his own. A solid movie. Available theatrically or HBOMax. (5.5/10) Spiral 2004. Saw started a absolute legacy of horror turn torcher gore films to come. Two really great ones and five below average ones with a rogue "Jigsaw" movie and the more recent "Spiral" movies. That said, Jigsaw is dead and was only alive for 3 of the original 7 films, yet made an appearance in all of them. Jigsaw (Saw 2004) was brilliant. As Saw went on, Jigsaw became less so, forced and spoon-fed as exposition. Spiral is a step in the right direction for a Saw revival franchise. Much of the original atmosphere is kept intact along with much of what made Saw, Saw. The voice is not the same, nor is the mascot but both effective and menacing when put together. If you're a Saw fan, Spiral is for you. (4,10),(6/10) Hosted, produced and mixed by Grayson Maxwell and Roger Stillion. Guest appearance by Chris Bourghan. Music by Chad Wall. Host of INTRODUCING...THE FIRST APPEARANCE PODCAST Mark Henely joins us in studio (!) this week. If you don't remember 1991's GOLDEN YEARS, that's not weird. Besides the David Bowie theme song of same name, there's really not much to latch onto in this seven-part miniseries. The main character is weirdly named Harlan Williams, Felicity Huffman does a proto-Scully, and Ed Lauter's face takes up his whole head. That's it. Also in this episode: week two of a Talking Heads parody intro, the formal establishment of a segment where we gripe about how Slimer (and Lady Slimer) aren't in the movie, and the triumphant return of a certain rugged Spaniard.
