*The first "Seacoast Stories" LIVE podcast is Thurs. 1/9 at The Press Room in Portsmouth! Snag your tickets here to guarantee a seat.* For small businesses on the Seacoast, a strong social media presence is a non-negotiable. However, staying relevant in a content-saturated world is becoming increasingly difficult. Furthermore, the social media platforms constantly change the rules. What worked last year doesn't work this year, and what works this year won't work next year. To help small Seacoast businesses navigate the tricky social media waters, I've called upon a trusted former colleague to set the record straight on how small businesses and content creators can best utilize social media to capture attention, build their brand, and drive revenue in 2025. From the comforts of our cozy home studios over the holidays, my old friend and I discuss: Live podcast details (00:00) The evolution of media in 2024 (01:00) TikTok tips for success (09:40) Gen Z's love of Snapchat (21:52) Instagram tips for success (23:44) How to capture attention in 2025 (29:05) Biggest mistakes on Instagram (35:22) Is X worth your time? How can you use negotiation to create the conditions to get more of what you want? In this episode with Susie Tomenchok we talk about: -Being intentional about using negotiation in your day to day and the strategy around it -Practical techniques to start honing your negotiation skills -Being prepared to go into any conversation and the types of questions you should be asking -Being clear on the outcomes you want in order to better influence your results -A new way to look at the word ‘No'... Susie Tomenchok is an entrepreneur, author, and executive coach helping her clients unleash their inner negotiators. Before discovering her passion for executive coaching, Susie held a range of senior positions in the Telecommunications industry in a career that spanned over 20 years. While working at Comcast, Susie honed her negotiation skills by overseeing a client portfolio valued at over $80M annually. Susie worked with and closed deals for some of the biggest names in corporate America, including ESPN/Disney, Boeing, Gallup, Discovery, Viacom, NBC, and A&E. Susie's talent for coaching and passing on her skills became apparent after she realized her three daughters were using her own negotiation tactics against her to get what they wanted. She'd clearly taught them too well. This was the sign she needed to leave her corporate life and embark on a new career as a consultant and executive coach. Susie now works with startups, large organizations, and individuals, helping her clients discover their negotiation superpowers, advocate for themselves, and stop being the path of least resistance. She even found time to write her first book, The Art of Everyday Negotiation without Manipulation, and now enjoys watching her (now grown) daughters blaze their own trail. www.negotiationlove.com

Debüt in Miami - viele Unbekannte! We have a stable of good topics as we lead off with Steve reading the tea leaves for a Washington Football Team name in federal trademark filings. Next we marvel at the ratings rebound of the NFL and begrudgingly admit that the Cowboys being good is part of that. Have you ever been to the horse race track, because that is the stadium experience you can begin to expect in your NFL stadium experience over the next few years. We close updating a story we have tracked for years now and that is the inevitable sale of The Athletic. It turns out the buyer is the New York Times, do they have ESPN/Disney in their sights? Ask Adam Schefter.

OK, you have learned about how to stream live TV content (Episode 1) and the equipment you need to do so (Episode 1.1)…but what about accessing additional content? In the second of three “deep dives” into the topic of Streaming Online Television, the Brothers discuss movie/content (non-live) services. Media players discussed: Netflix: Huge library of movies/shows (maybe too many?), really good original content. $8-15/month Amazon Prime: Decent library of movies/shows, some original content, clunky interface. ~$10/month (paid yearly…and many of you are already paying for it with Prime!). Hulu: Some original content, but mostly focused on network shows (which you may not need if you have a streaming TV service with DVR capabilities). ~$6/month (but can be combined ESPN+/Disney+ for $13). Apple TV+: Limited (ONLY original content…mostly shows), but good quality. ~$5/month, but free for a year with a purchase of phone/Apple TV. Disney+: Great movie content (Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, etc!), some original content, $7/month (but can be combined with Hulu and ESPN+ for $13). HBO Now: Solid movie/show database, known for original content. Expensive: $15/month (but can be offered as perk for AT&T customers). Brothers’ recommendation: Amazon Prime is a no-brainer addition to a streaming TV service (e.g., YouTube TV), as you already have it if you are a Prime delivery subscriber! Want a second movie service to complement Amazon Prime? Netflix & Apple TV+ can provide some great original content. Have any feedback for the Brothers regarding this topic (or future topics)?
