That chest pain you can't explain, that anger that fires before you can think, that heart you've quietly sealed off since someone broke it. There might be a reason it's still there. Dr. Bradley Nelson spent 18 years as a chiropractor, and what kept showing up led him to a wild realization: about 90% of the physical pain he saw traced back to emotions his patients never fully processed. Anger, grief, and guilt don't just disappear when we bury them, he says. They get trapped in the body, distort its energy, and quietly run the show. About a decade in, he started building a method around what he was seeing: The Emotion Code — and has spent the last 20 years certifying more than 17,000 practitioners in 108 countries. He talks about the “heart wall,” an invisible barrier that around 93% of people build without knowing it, and how taking it down has helped people fall in love, heal from depression, and let go of pain they'd carried for decades. Lewis shares his own story too, a years-long ache in his chest that finally released in a single, almost electric moment during deep therapy work. This one will make you rethink every “unexplainable” symptom, every instant overreaction, every wall you've built without realizing it. You'll walk away wondering what you might be storing, and what could shift the moment you finally let it go.Watch The Emotion Code in Action FREE The Heart Code: The Breakthrough Method to Open Your Heart and Transform Your Life The Body Code: Unlocking your body's ability to heal itself Emotion Code: How to Release Your Trapped Emotions for Abundant Health, Love and Happiness Watch The Emotion Code in Action Free Healing Course Discover Healing Website Dr. Bradley's Instagram Dr. Bradley's Facebook In this episode you will: Uncover why 90% of chronic physical pain traces back to trapped emotional baggage rather than the body itself Identify a Heart-Wall, the invisible barrier 93% of people carry that blocks love, health, and abundance without their knowledge Learn the Emotion Code and Body Code frameworks for locating and releasing inherited and personal trapped emotions Dismantle the belief in unworthiness that quietly sabotages relationships, success, and self-expression Discover how muscle testing taps into the subconscious mind to reveal hidden emotional causes behind pain and behavior Recognize real cases of instant healing, from vanishing rage to eliminated chronic pain, once trapped emotions are cleared For more information go to https://lewishowes.com/1974 More SOG episodes we think you'll love! Romancing The Scams With A Fake 49ers Star

    The Rizzuto Show

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 31, 2026 39:14

Today we're diving into an absolutely wild romance scam involving a man accused of pretending to be a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver—or, depending on the day, an ultra-wealthy Swiss real estate mogul. Authorities say the four-year scheme targeted at least 26 women and brought in roughly $1.3 million. Apparently dating apps weren't stressful enough already. The details only get crazier. The alleged scam included social media accounts packed with 49ers gear, luxury cars and images designed to make the whole thing look legitimate. According to the story discussed on the show, some of the online material was AI-generated, and the fake identity became established enough online that search engines and AI tools reportedly started treating the guy like an actual football player. Then comes the fake wealth. Screenshots supposedly showed bank and investment accounts containing millions of dollars, and once relationships were established, an alleged accomplice would enter the picture as the “wealth manager.” Three-way calls, fake investment returns and promises of high-yield opportunities followed. When victims ran out of money or started asking questions? Suddenly their extremely successful NFL boyfriend became extremely unavailable. It launches the crew into a bigger conversation about romance scams, our weird relationship with wealth and just how easy it has become to manufacture an impressive-looking life online. Rafe points out that you barely need a real podcast anymore—you can film yourself in front of a microphone, dispense some motivational nonsense and convince the internet you've appeared on 400 episodes of something called The Alpha Wealth Mindset Experience.Okay, we made that title up. But you've absolutely seen that guy.Listeners pile on with stories of fake celebrities allegedly trying to scam people, including Martina McBride and Mark Harmon impersonators. If Mark Harmon suddenly slides into Mom's Facebook messages and needs $700 in gift cards, maybe call somebody. That's the kind of public service you only get from a funny podcast with absolutely no qualifications to provide public services. The show also tackles the old belief that celebrity deaths happen in threes and why our brains are so desperate to find patterns in random events. From there, we discover Goodwill is getting into the record-store business with a media-focused concept called Rewind. Vinyl, CDs, cassettes, VHS tapes, vintage audio gear and whatever forgotten three-disc CD changer somebody's mom finally convinced Dad to get out of the basement. It might be heaven. It might smell like somebody else's basement. Either way, we're interested. Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, where things get wonderfully messy. The crew gets into music and entertainment news, including Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks. That naturally becomes a debate over “Landslide,” including Lern's discovery that apparently nothing evacuates a Colorado bar faster than putting it on the jukebox. There's also Scott Weiland material headed for release, more Korn vinyl reissues, Limp Bizkit joining Spotify's billion-stream club and the continuing realization that the music of our youth is now getting 30th-anniversary editions. Awesome. Love having time itself personally attack us.Elsewhere, an 85-year-old Donna Mills is reportedly making serious money on OnlyFans without full nudity, which sends Rafe into an impromptu financial analysis of the subscription business model. This is technically economics if nobody from an accredited university is listening. The entertainment chaos continues with Coyote vs. Acme, a creepy movie called Buddy that basically asks what would happen if a beloved children's mascot completely snapped, and news of Tom Cruise returning as Cole Trickle for a Days of Thunder sequel alongside Anne Hathaway. The crew also discovers a movie about the creation of Hooters is in development, accidentally invents an entirely different restaurant concept during the conversation, and immediately starts yelling “trademark” because apparently that's how intellectual property law works now. Finally, we get famous musicians trashing other famous musicians. Jack White versus The Black Keys. Madonna versus Lady Gaga. Elton John versus Madonna. Kurt Cobain versus seemingly everybody. Courtney Love versus Taylor Swift. Nick Cave versus the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And Usher telling T-Pain that Auto-Tune messed up music.Nothing brings people together quite like extremely successful artists explaining why other extremely successful artists are terrible.Fake NFL stars. AI-generated lifestyles. Romance scams. KISS Army business. Celebrity impostors. Vinyl nostalgia. Music feuds. OnlyFans economics. Tom Cruise going racing again. And an alarming amount of discussion about Hooters. It's another funny podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where we examine the important stories of our time and then immediately ruin any chance of being taken seriously.Listen now, subscribe, and come back for more celebrity news, weird stories, pop culture commentary, St. Louis humor and daily chaos from Rizz and the gang.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Houman Z. Emami, a native of Iran (ancient Persia), has a bright academic career in Philosophy and Religion, Holism and Consciousness, with earlier careers in Computer Science, Telecommunications, and a number of educational-institute startups. He has completed undergraduate studies in the above fields, within and without standard academic training, and he continues in his graduate and Ph.D. thesis, “On Intuition, the Heart Faculty, and Theophanies”.Before reaching his eleventh year, Houman had lived through the Iranian revolution of 1979, the Iran and Iraq war of 1981, and the inner-city bombings and atrocities of war. “And that was just the beginning,” he tells us. Miraculous events began as a direct result of these earlier years of awakening and grew in proportion to his yearning. In this way, the dark side of war, and the lesser-known light side of war were made manifest from age five onwards. After several relocations and maturing in both eastern and western cultures before his thirtieth year, Houman had taken part in a relatively successful lifestyle, returned to academia and various spiritual practices thrice, finally taking early retirement in his late twenties, leaving all behind and spending a decade as an independent world-traveler, contemporary monk and spiritual pilgrim. These later awakenings in solitude and on the pilgrim's walk integrated those of his early childhood. At last, returning to worldly life in his late thirties, he continues to impact the world he left behind. Loved ones and relations lovingly refer to him as “scribe,” “pilgrim,” and “scholar.” A “scribe” is one who decodes and deciphers the teachings of the ancient scrolls, which are symbolic representations of transcendent realms made immanent within a simple framework of understanding. A “pilgrim” is one who leaves the mind behind (is a passerby), leads from the heart, “connects the dots,” is a bridge-builder, and a peacemaker. And a “scholar,” from scolere, is one who lives at ease as a student of life, truth, and wisdom. In this respect, he has written:Let the truth of love be & become the love of truth, and the love of truth be & become the truth of love. That means, the soul genuinely desires love and truth, embraced by and swaying this way and that throughout life, in order to teach us that we must love unconditionally but when finding ourselves in the snares of selfish love, we must pursue truth; and we must pursue truth unconditionally but when we find truth become empty tradition and superstition, we must pursue love.In practice, Houman's spiritual invocation consciously began in his early teens, as a result of a near-death experience (NDE)—taking him back to his early childhood visions, and to his native ancestral teachings of the East, Near East, and the Orient. After his near-death experience and remembering his life's calling more fully from age five, Houman recalled all that proceeded from that age in the divine plan, walking them out and remembering them step by step.Years later, these remembrances and awakenings culminated into visionary experiences and embodiments—involving “theophanies,” meaning divine interventions or encounters. Twelve years of practice and integration turned him into an independent spiritual pilgrim in 2003, and he has been traveling the world since. His journey has been one of the most overwhelming stories one might hear. All there is, IS Love for Love IS…

Hello everyone, who knew and loved Bart,This is Renata Gregori, his wife. My beloved husband left this earth plane on July 27, 2026, due to pneumonia and infection - complications from conditions he was dealing with since the end of last year.He was the best man I've ever known. He was my teacher, my confidant, my best friend, the love of my life and my touchstone for all that is good and righteous. I could always count on him to put things in perspective for me and check me, when I was off base. We had a celebration of life at our house in Mexico yesterday and it was so beautiful. Music, laughter, tears and beautiful people. Bart has been laid out at our house for two days. As per his wishes, he will be cremated today. Please continue to contemplate his teachings, read his books and watch his videos. I send my Love to all who knew and loved him and all whose lives he touched. Bart Marshall described his spiritual path as “self-guided eclectic.” It began with a death experience in Vietnam in 1968 and ended in 2004 on an airplane at 30,000 feet over the Atlantic as he returned from a workshop with Douglas Harding. In those intervening years he “turned over every rock” in his quest for a final answer, but counts three teachers as the most influential: Richard Rose, Nisargadatta Maharaj, and Douglas Harding. He founded Self Inquiry Group (SIG) in Raleigh, North Carolina and for many years held weekly meetings before stepping back in 2013. Sometimes called “the reluctant guru” by those who know him, Bart nevertheless traveled widely to speak when asked, and teaches retreats and intensives with Deborah Westmoreland (Conscious TV interview) events that proved to be highly transformative for participants.Bart was the author of The Perennial Way: New English Versions of Yoga Sutras, Dhammapada, Heart Sutra, Ashtavakra Gita, Faith Mind Sutra, and Tao Te Ching, and Christ Sutras (Fall 2014), which contains the complete sayings of Jesus from all sources arranged as topical sermons. Imagine if the way we design learning could shift from just delivering content to genuinely connecting with learners on a personal level. That's the essence of our chat with Jackie Pelegrin, a passionate instructional designer who believes in the power of empathy and intention in education. Instead of merely focusing on what students need to know, Jackie encourages us to think about how we can make them feel valued and empowered. It's a thought-provoking discussion that dives into the emotional aspects of learning, and trust me, it's a game changer for anyone involved in education. Jackie takes us through her journey of writing her book, 'Designing with Love,' which is steeped in her experiences and insights from years in instructional design. She highlights various models and theories that serve as the backbone of effective curriculum development, such as the well-known ADDIE model. But what sets her apart is her advocacy for blending different instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs. This isn't just theory—she provides practical examples of how to implement these ideas in real-world scenarios, making it accessible for educators at every level. As we wrap up, Jackie shares her thoughts on the importance of assessment and revision in curriculum design, emphasizing that education is a dynamic process that must evolve with the times. The conversation is peppered with light-hearted moments that keep things engaging while driving home the point that education should be about connection, growth, and purpose. If you're eager to rethink how you approach teaching or instructional design, this episode is packed with wisdom and warmth that'll inspire you to design learning with love.Takeaways:Transforming the way we design learning can deeply impact how people feel valued and capable.Great instruction isn't just about information; it's rooted in empathy, intention, and love.Jackie Pelegrin encourages educators to rethink learning experiences that foster genuine connections. The upcoming book, 'Designing with Love', emphasizes a human-centered approach to instructional design.Using cognitive load theory helps in creating clear, manageable learning experiences for students.Designing with intention means understanding that true learning goes beyond mere content delivery.Links referenced in this episode:designingwithloveblog.combuzzsprout.com

Moving beyond common myths, he explains why testosterone is often a red herring for erectile issues, how the physical habits of masturbation "train" the body to struggle with real intimacy, and provides a breakdown of pelvic floor and mental exercises that can clinically treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation without relying on medication. What to expect in this episode: The Testosterone Red Herring: Why a drop in testosterone isn't the primary driver of erectile issues, with clinical data showing that only about 5% of erectile dysfunction cases are actually caused by low testosterone. The Role of Obesity: How endocrine-active fat cells (adipocytes) actively convert testosterone into other hormones, making physical health and cardiovascular conditioning far more critical than artificial hormone boosters. Death Grip Syndrome: How years of masturbating with a tight, dry hand grip trains the penis to expect 100 to 130 PSI of pressure, making it physically impossible to stay aroused by a partner's body, which naturally only produces 5 to 30 PSI. "Don't Skip Dick Day" Exercises: A breakdown of a clinical trial where targeted pelvic floor exercises completely cured ED in 40% of men and significantly improved it in another 35%—a therapeutic impact directly comparable to Viagra. Separating Orgasm from Ejaculation: A lesson in the physiological mechanics of tantric sex, explaining how strengthening pelvic muscles allows men to control the urethral pathway to experience prolonged pleasure and delay ejaculation. The Theory-Crafting Hack: Why performing complex math or theory-crafting optimal video game rotations (like calculating warlock DPS meters in Molten Core) in your head during intercourse is a highly effective, clinical technique to slow down premature ejaculation. In this episode of The VIBE with Kelly Cardenas, we talk about nostalgia, sports, family, relationships, Proverbs 31, and the strange way we can spend so much time looking back at the good old days that we completely miss the good day we're standing in.My mama used to tell me, “I am praying for your wife. You need a Proverbs 31 woman in your life.”I didn't fully understand it then.Forty years later, I get it.She wasn't just praying for a result. She was praying that I would be prepared to recognize, appreciate, and honor the answer when it arrived. That got me thinking about everything we call a “throwback”—old sports, old music, old pictures, old memories, old versions of ourselves. Maybe we don't actually miss the past. Maybe we miss who we were. And maybe someday, we're going to look back at THIS exact moment and realize it was one of the best days of our lives. The future is okay, but it's uncertain. The past is finished. The magic is right here.So be good to people. Use your voice for good. Love the people in front of you. This week, Mars is in conflict with, and Jupiter makes a soothing aspect to, serious Saturn. Mental faculties and manual skills get a supercharged boost with the sextile between Mercury and Mars, and the Gemini Last Quarter Moon manages to express the ideas that the Virgo Sun has given a lot of detailed thought. We have a pretty busy week at the Big Sky HQ as April gets ready for a conference and the Podathon, which starts next week, so we will keep things relatively brief and put off a listener question until after the Podathon! Plus: Raising the bar, an invisible super power, and default crankiness! Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show?  Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Love the show? Make a donation! Timestamps [1:34] Jupiter trines Saturn (Aug. 31, 3:17 pm PDT) at 13°41' Leo and Aries. This is the first of three trines that they will make. The other two will come on Apr. 3 and Jul. 11, 2027. Jupiter's Sabian symbol is 14 Leo: The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression.  Saturn is on 14 Aries: A serpent coiling near a man and a woman.  This aspect balances Jupiter's expansive optimism with Saturn's realistic restraint. Ideal for goals requiring both ambition and discipline. [4:28] Mars squares Saturn (Sep. 1, 2:59 am PDT) at 13°39' Cancer and Aries.  Mars' Sabian symbol is 14 Cancer: A very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast.  Treat this transit as a lesson in how to impose more control and discipline over your temper, impulsiveness, and physical drives. [7:51]  Mercury sextiles Mars (Sep. 1, 6:21 am PDT) at 13°44' Virgo and Cancer.  Mercury is on the Sabian symbol 14 Virgo, A family tree.  Be mindful of your words.  Great transit for projects that require being good with your hands and having attention to detail. [9:43] Moon Report!  The Gemini Last Quarter Moon (Sep. 4, 12:51 am PDT) at 11°48' Gemini and Virgo. This Last Quarter wraps up that New Moon solar eclipse in Leo (Aug. 12, 2026).  Consider letting go of the sadness and regret that this eclipse season may have brought. [12:39] This is the Last Quarter phase (last action phase) in a lunar phase family cycle that began with a New Moon on Jun. 6, 2024 (16°17' Gemini). The First Quarter (first action phase) was on Mar. 6, 2025 (16°21' Gemini). The Full Moon (awareness point) occurred on Dec. 4, 2025 (13°3' Gemini). Mom Wife Career Life - Work Life Balance, Time Management, Healthy Habits, Positive Parenting, Working Mom, Routines, Mindse

Hi Mamas, ,  What if the goal isn't to get better at doing everything... but to make some of it easier?  As busy working moms, we become incredibly capable. We manage careers, kids, calendars, meals, appointments, school activities, relationships, homes—and about a million tiny details no one else seems to realize we're keeping track of.  And somewhere along the way, we can start believing that because we're capable of doing it all, we should do it all.  But this week's Monday Mindset is your reminder:  “Every task you simplify creates space for something that matters more.”  Because simplifying your life isn't just about saving time. It's about deciding what you want to do with the time you get back.  Maybe simplifying dinner gives you more time to sit with your family.  Maybe automating a task gives you time to take a walk.  Maybe delegating something gives you more patience with your kids.  Maybe finding a faster way to handle something at work helps you close your laptop on time.  Or maybe that extra time gives you a few minutes to sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing—and yes, mama, that counts too.  In today's Monday Mindset, we're talking about why being capable doesn't mean you have to do everything yourself, why productivity shouldn't simply mean squeezing more into your day, and how simplifying the small things can help reduce your mental load and create more work-life balance.  Because the goal isn't to become more efficient so you can do more.  The goal is to become more efficient so you have more room for the people, priorities and moments that matter most.

I share why so many married couples ruin desire by treating sex like a performance, then show how a playful mindset brings freedom back. We trade judgment for curiosity, build safety with boundaries, and start creating a sex life that fits us instead of chasing someone else's standard. • why pressure turns sex into scorekeeping and shuts down desire • how “play” changes the goal from performing to exploring together • why sexual chemistry is built and rebuilt across seasons of marriage • replacing judgmental questions with curiosity that invites honesty • taking turns leading connection and intimacy to create variety • why boundaries and an easy “no” make experimentation possible • talking about sex when nothing is expected to happen • the weekly mission question that sparks playful change • how the Hotter Together challenge turns insight into action • a preview of next week's topic on entitlement versus responsibility If you want some help making your connection more playful, go to: https://monicatanner.com/hotter and join the Hotter Together 14-day couples challenge. If this conversation encouraged you, would you do me a favor and share it with someone you love? There's a subtle moment in dating when everything can start to change. At first, you're paying attention to them. Do I like this person? Do I feel good around them? Are they kind? Interesting? Emotionally available? Do I want to see them again? Then you start to really like them, and suddenly the focus flips. Do they like me? Now you're checking your phone. Analyzing texts. Wondering why they took three hours to respond. Replaying the date and looking for clues. And without even realizing it, you've stopped deciding whether you want them and started trying to figure out how to make sure they want you. That shift matters. Because once being chosen becomes the goal, it's incredibly easy to abandon your own experience. You can overlook how anxious you feel around someone, make excuses for behavior you don't actually like, or become so focused on whether you're enough for them that you forget to ask whether they're enough for you. And this doesn't only happen while we're dating. It's one of the reasons rejection and breakups can hurt so much. Sometimes we're grieving the person. But sometimes we're also grieving the fact that they didn't choose us, and those are two very different wounds. In this Language of Love Bite, I'm talking about why we can become so consumed with being wanted, what attachment and old relationship wounds have to do with it, and the question I often ask people after a breakup that can completely change the way they see what they've lost. Because yes, you deserve to be chosen. But you're doing some choosing, too. In this episode, you'll learn: How to recognize when you've shifted from getting to know someone to auditioning for their approval Why uncertainty can make you obsess over texts, conversations, and tiny changes in someone's behavior The difference between actually wanting someone and wanting the validation of being wanted by them Why rejection can hurt even when the relationship itself wasn't right for you The question I ask after a breakup that can change the story you're telling yourself How to notice what your own experience is telling you about a relationship How to date without abandoning yourself in the process Whether you have experienced dating anxiety yourself or love someone who has, this episode will help you understand what is really happening beneath the surface and offer practical, compassionate tools to move forward with confidence. You Don't Need to Push Harder: Creating Capacity in Your Business with Lissy DonovanWhat if the thing holding your business back isn't your strategy? What if you simply don't have the capacity to implement it?Think about how many business owners start their day: wake up, grab the phone, check the email, answer the DMs, scroll for a minute, solve a problem, and we're working before our feet even hit the floor. Then the actual day begins.Clients need us. Employees need us. There are decisions to make, fires to put out, services to deliver—and somewhere in there, we're also supposed to find the time and energy to actually grow the business. In this episode of The Visibility Podcast, I'm joined by Lissy Donovan, business strategist, ICF PCC coach, and Certified Pumpkin Plan Strategist who specializes in working with therapists, physical therapists, medical practice owners, and other service-based business owners.Lissy has spent 16 years working with small business owners and eight years coaching around burnout recovery and capacity building. She's helped business owners grow 3–10x while creating businesses that don't require them to remain the single point of failure. And today, we're talking about capacity. Not another productivity hack. Not “drink more water.”Not “just hire someone.”We're talking about what it actually takes to create enough space—in your life AND your business—to think, make better decisions, implement the strategy, and build something that doesn't require every ounce of you.In this episode, we talk about:How your capacity as a human directly affects your capacity as a business ownerWhy constantly operating in reactive mode makes it difficult to growThe hidden cost of starting your day immediately responding to everyone elseWhat rest actually looks like for an entrepreneurWhy creating more capacity requires intentional actionThe uncomfortable truth that creating capacity may take MORE time and effort upfrontWhy waiting for business to “calm down” usually doesn't workHow to start creating space to work on your business instead of constantly working in itWhat happens when the owner becomes the single point of failureHow better capacity can lead to better strategy, better decisions, and ultimately a stronger businessHere's the truth:You probably aren't going to wake up one morning and magically have more time.Your inbox isn't going to empty itself. Your clients aren't going to stop needing you. And your calendar isn't suddenly going to hand you three uninterrupted hours to figure out the future of your business. At some point, we have to intentionally create that space. And Lissy gives us some fantastic places to start.https://www.lissydonovan.com/Join the newsletterYouTubeInstagramWant to strengthen your local visibility with LESS of your capacity?Grab my FREE Google Business Profile workshop. Her students know her as Ceci. She is part of a team that delivers near peer prevention in local middle and high schools, teaching from lived experience rather than from a textbook, and she builds her presentations around quotes and stories that teens recognize from their own lives. She entered an abusive relationship at fourteen with an older partner and stayed in it for ten years, a decade she now uses to show students how control can arrive disguised as protection. She left at twenty-four, when her oldest daughter was two months old. Today she is raising three daughters, and she talks with students about la tóxica, love bombing, the silent treatment, and the rights every young person has: to feel safe at home, to be a kid, and to be loved in a healthy way.Key Points• Control often arrives in the language of protection, which is why it survives the first look. Ceci's partner came to her soccer practices to walk her home safely, and that became the reason she should stop playing.• The silent treatment is the first flag most teens miss. Someone who cares will have the conversation about what went wrong; withholding it is a punishment, and it shows up long before anything physical does.• An apology that arrives as a gift is one more turn of the cycle. He broke her phone whenever he got angry and replaced it within hours with one her parents could not have afforded, which made the next break easier to absorb.• Time in the wrong relationship is the cost that compounds. Ceci tells students, "If you get on the wrong bus, make sure you get off on the first stop," because she stayed on from fourteen to twenty-four.• Blame does its damage by moving the rules off the record. Once she was reading his face for permission he never had to forbid anything out loud, and she started deciding for herself not to see her friends.• A teen's playlist is a way in, and calling it bad music closes the door. Ceci wanted her mother to ask why she loved the sad, heartbroken songs she played loud enough to get told to turn them down.• Home sets the first model of love, so prevention starts before any relationship does. Ceci grew up without a picture of what affection looks like and assembled one from television, the same gap she now watches teens fill with Euphoria.• Teens act on rights before they act on warning signs. Ceci says the first two skills would have been lost on her at fourteen, but "Hey, Ceci, you have rights" would have landed: the right to feel safe at home, to be a kid, and to be loved in a healthy way.Resources• Higher Ground Youth & Family Services• Higher Ground's Human Trafficking Prevention Program (HTPP)• Global Center for Women and Justice• Safe Communities, Safe Kids (GCWJ, Samueli Foundation grant)• Lil Wayne, "How to Love" (official music video)

Do you feel as though you've reached an emotional cul-de-sac in midlife? In this uplifting conversation, Lynne talks with Tina Bernard, founder of The Badass Arts™, about rebuilding self-trust, interrupting old patterns, and recognizing that midlife isn't the end of the adventure. It may be the beginning of your most honest and fulfilling chapter yet.                                                                              _________________ Have you ever looked at the life you've built and quietly wondered, Is this really all there is? You may have spent decades building a career, nurturing relationships, raising a family, and meeting everyone else's needs. Then midlife arrives, bringing changes in your body, family, relationships, career, or identity—and suddenly, you're no longer sure where you fit. In this episode of Living Life Naturally, Lynne talks with Tina Bernard, founder of The Badass Arts™, about what happens when women reach what Tina calls an "emotional cul-de-sac." Rather than seeing midlife as a plateau, Tina encourages women to view it as an opportunity to question the patterns they've inherited, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and create a life that feels more honest and aligned. Tina shares the personal experiences behind The Badass Arts™, including her journey through an unhealthy marriage, single motherhood, financial hardship, rebuilding her life, finding love again, and leaving her corporate career to create a movement for women in their middle years. Together, Lynne and Tina explore how women can move beyond regret, quiet their "doubt goblins," and make small but meaningful changes that strengthen self-trust. Tina also shares four simple expressions of purpose available to every woman: love, laugh, labor, and learn. Purpose doesn't always need to involve an enormous mission or dramatic reinvention. It can be found in how we love others, make room for joy, contribute to the world, and remain curious about life. This conversation is a warm and refreshing reminder that you are not your patterns—and it's never too late to choose a different response. In This Episode, You'll Discover Why midlife can feel like an emotional cul-de-sac The difference between living authentically and living according to expectations How major transitions can weaken—or awaken—your sense of identity A powerful question to ask when life presents a challenge Why a simple morning ritual can set the emotional tone for your day Tina's four universal expressions of purpose Why love is something we practice, not simply something we feel How curiosity helps keep us emotionally engaged with life Why regret and joyful appreciation struggle to coexist How old patterns develop—and why they don't define you The surprising power of making very small behavioral shifts How midlife can become a season of freedom, possibility, and reinvention Guest Introduction Today, I'm joined by Tina Bernard, founder of The Badass Arts™, a movement designed to help women in midlife move beyond old patterns and create lives filled with more soul, substance, and sass. Drawing from her professional experience, education, personal hardships, and lifelong fascination with the human condition, Tina helps women bridge the gap between what they know and how they actually live. Her work explores self-trust, emotional intelligence, meaningful change, and the tiny shifts that can transform a woman's relationship with herself and her future. Welcome, Tina. I'm delighted to have you with us today. Key Takeaways Look for the gift or opportunity When life changes unexpectedly, Tina suggests asking: "What is the gift or opportunity within this challenge?" This isn't about pretending that something painful is positive. It's about remaining open to what the experience might teach you or make possible. Create a brief morning ritual Before getting out of bed or reaching for your phone, pause long enough to decide how you want to enter the day. Even 30 seconds of intention can help you move out of autopilot. Reconsider what purpose means Tina believes we share four fundamental expressions of purpose: Love: Act with care, compassion, and kindness. Laugh: Make room for playfulness, pleasure, and spontaneous joy. Labor: Contribute something meaningful and help make the world better. Learn: Stay curious about yourself, other people, and life. Remember that you're not your patterns Your automatic responses may have developed through past experiences, but they aren't your identity. With awareness, commitment, and small changes, those patterns can be interrupted. Memorable Quotes "You are not your patterns." "Between the mess we experience and the miracles we desire, there has to be a bridge." "What's the gift or opportunity within this challenge?" "Love is a verb." "The moment we stop learning and our curiosity dulls, that's when life begins to feel over." "If you're living in regret, it's difficult to live in joyful appreciation." "Tiny shifts may feel as though they're taking longer, but when they finally land, your life is different." In Days 195–196 of Orchot Tzaddikim, The Ways of the Righteous, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues the Gate of Fear of Heaven by developing the idea that the human being is a microcosm of the entire world. Just as creation contains trees, herbs, fruits, waters, rivers, stones, mountains, winds, and countless other systems, the human body contains parallel structures and functions. The author uses these comparisons to awaken awe at the complexity and wisdom Hashem embedded within us.The lesson moves through a series of physical parallels: the digestive system is compared to the depths of the earth, arteries to rivers, bones to the foundations of the world, kidneys and bodily ducts to waterways, and the various fluids of the body to the different waters found throughout creation. The message is not merely anatomical. It is that the human body itself reflects a larger Divine pattern and should inspire a deeper appreciation of the Creator.Day 196 expands the comparison further. The Orchot Tzaddikim parallels hot and cold winds with human breath, thunder with the human voice, lightning with the brightness of the face, mountains with the body's joints and structures, stones with teeth and bones, soil with flesh and skin, vegetation with human hair, and even the zodiac with the spinal column and its attached structures. The author also describes ancient forms of wisdom through which sages were said to discern future events from natural signs, bodily features, vegetation, and other aspects of creation.Rabbi Wolbe concludes by emphasizing the wonder of the human body. The same wisdom Hashem placed throughout the cosmos is, in miniature, embedded within each person. The point is not to become distracted by speculative worlds beyond us, but to recognize the extraordinary miracle already present within our own bodies. The more carefully we contemplate ourselves, the more opportunities we have to develop Yirat Shamayim—awareness, reverence, and awe of Hashem._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on March 23, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on August 31, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism.
