The notorious Bermuda Triangle in the North Atlantic Ocean makes people, ships, and airplanes vanish into thin air. Some experts blame bad weather conditions. Others are sure the reason is heavy traffic in the area and human error. Many people believe in conspiracy theories: aliens, the lost city of Atlantis, or even a massive meteorite lying on the ocean floor. There are also those who deny there's anything unusual about the Triangle. And still, the mystery remains. But few people know that the South Atlantic Ocean has an enigma of its own. Well, not the ocean itself, but a patch of space above this area. It's dubbed "the Bermuda Triangle of space" or "the South Atlantic Anomaly.” There, Earth's protection against solar radiation is much weaker than anywhere else. When spacecraft get into this region, all kinds of serious problems occur to them. When NASA was launching its $2.5 billion Perseverance rover in July 2020, the space agency planners had to do their best to avoid the space Bermuda Triangle. Learn more about your ad choices. How often have you looked at your bank accounts and thought to yourself, “where did all my money go?”, or how many times have you felt buyers' remorse after purchasing something? The truth is that it's way too easy to spend without noticing how much money is actually slipping away. In this episode, we'll talk about 7 common habits that cause people to waste money and share some tips on how to correct them. Links: Check out Triangle's competitive Personal Loan and Auto Loan refinance rates to start saving money Check out TCU University for financial education tips and resources! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Learn more about Triangle Credit Union Transcript: Welcome to Money Tip Tuesday from the Making Money Personal podcast. Many people believe they don't have enough money because they don't earn enough, but often the real issue is spending too much. Most of us don't spot wasteful spending right away. It can build up for different reasons and turn into a habit. If your habits aren't helping, they could be hurting. To make the most of your money, it helps to know where you might be wasting it. Here's a list of a few wasteful habits that tend to drain our money. The first one is throwing away food. Have you ever filled your fridge, only to toss out a lot of it a week later? This is a major way people waste money. If you want to cut waste, start here. Fix this habit by making a food plan. Choose recipes for each meal, list the ingredients you need, and buy only those. Planning ahead keeps you organized and helps you use everything you buy rather than waste it. Habit number two is spending too much on dining out. After a long day, it's tempting to order takeout or eat out if you haven't planned a meal. But eating out often adds up fast. With food, drinks, tip, and tax, you might spend more on one meal than it would cost to make several at home. What can you do? Plan your at-home meals in advance and set a budget for dining out. This way, you'll have money set aside to spend on dining and can enjoy eating out without guilt. Habit number three is impulse buying. Impulse buying often happens for emotional reasons. If you buy more than you planned, that's an impulse purchase. This can waste a lot of money, especially if you didn't budget for it. To change this, try shopping in person with cash and bring a list—only buy what's on it. If you shop online, use a debit card instead of a credit card. You'll have to pay close attention to your spending because you're limited by that account balance. Habit number four is buying brand-name items when generic products work just as well. People often spend more on brand names without noticing. Brand-name products can cost 20% to 30% more, even when generics work fine. Look at the items you usually buy and see if the price difference is worth it. Many generic products, especially food products, contain the same ingredients. Do your research and choose what makes sense. Habit number five is stocking up on too many things you don't need. The Internet is full of people showing off their hauls—candles, body scrubs, food, sneakers, clothes, and more. Many of us like to collect things, but there's a fine line between collecting and overbuying. Content creators, ads, and online messages often tempt us to buy things we think we'll use but don't really need. This can be wasteful, especially since some items, like cosmetics and beauty products, expire. If you stock too much, they may go bad before you get to use them. Avoid this habit by sticking to a budget to help avoid overspending on things you don't need. If you're considering items that have a shelf life, be intentional to use up what you have before buying more. Habit number six is paying unnoticed fees or subscriptions you don't need. How many subscriptions do you have? Can you keep track of them all? Have any gone up in price in the last six months or year? If you don't keep track, you might end up paying more than you planned. Avoid wasting money on fees and subscriptions by checking them regularly. Cancel the ones you don't use or downgrade the plan if necessary. When it comes to late fees, check your account history for any missed payments. Companies will charge a fee when a payment isn't made on time, so the best way to avoid these fees is to stay organized. Mark up a calendar or set alerts on your phone to stay on top of all payments and use auto pay tools to ensure the payment is made on time. Wasteful habit number seven is paying high interest on loans. If you think you're paying too much interest each month, you might be right. Interest rates change over time, and your rate could be higher than necessary. To avoid this, consider refinancing your loans to get a lower interest rate. This can lower your monthly payments and free up a little cash. Check out Triangle Credit Union for the best refinance rates on auto loans, mortgages, home equity loans, personal loans, and more. Hi fellow co-creators! In this episode of Feminine Power Time, we pause together to set ourselves up for the cycle ahead — not just the linear calendar year, but the deeper transition we're moving through as we rise into the next seasonal and lunar turn. This is an orientation conversation. A grounding conversation. One meant to help us stay centered, calm, and clear as the pace of the world continues to speed up. Every year at the start of a new yearly cycle - I tune in for wisdom, insight and focus for the path ahead, and then I wait until the guidance is clear. it's never on Jan 1 (for obvious reasons) ... but it's always before the lunar new year, and is so much richer because I didn't rush to follow the timeline the mainstream matrix is on. That's how we roll when guided by grace and wisdom :) As we explore what's ahead in this next cycle, I'll invite you to slow your system, tune your awareness, and work with a few practical (and powerful) ways to stay oriented — personally, relationally, and as conscious co-creators in the larger field. A few wisdom bites to listen for (and maybe write down) When the world speeds up, the wise ones slow down. Presence comes before productivity. Orientation is a practice — not a one-time insight. You don't need to do everything — you need to know your part. When you get "gooped," don't isolate — conversate. In this conversation, we explore Working with natural cycles (lunar + seasonal) to stabilize the nervous system this year Staying oriented when things feel fast, intense, or overwhelming Doom scrolling vs sanity scanning The Triangle of Sacred Transformation: release the past, stabilize in the now, create the way for the new A simple practice to clarify what you need, desire, and require for the cycle ahead

https://teachhoops.com/ Picking a defense is not about what you, as a coach, like to run; it is about what your current roster is physically and mentally capable of executing at a high level. A successful defensive identity begins with an honest "personnel audit" where you evaluate your team's lateral quickness, interior rim protection, and overall basketball IQ. If you have a roster full of long, rangy athletes but lack a traditional "big," a disruptive, switching Man-to-Man or a high-pressure 1-2-2 zone may be your best bet to force turnovers. Conversely, if you have a slower, more disciplined group, a "Pack Line" style or a 2-3 zone can help you wall off the paint and force opponents into low-percentage outside shots. By aligning your system with your players' natural strengths, you ensure they play with the confidence and aggression required to get stops. Beyond your own roster, selecting a defense for a specific game requires a deep dive into the opponent's "shot profile" and offensive tendencies. In the heart of conference play in January, you must be prepared to pivot your defensive strategy to neutralize an opponent's primary threat. If you are facing an elite scoring guard who thrives on ball screens, you might choose to "Hard Hedge" or "Blitz" those actions to get the ball out of their hands. If the opponent struggles with perimeter shooting but dominates the glass, a sagging zone that prioritizes rebounding positioning might be the tactical edge you need. The best coaches have a "base" defense that defines their culture, but they possess the flexibility to implement "junk defenses" like a Box-and-One or a Triangle-and-Two to disrupt the rhythm of an elite individual scorer. Finally, the defense you pick must be sustainable and scalable throughout the duration of a long season. It is better to be elite at one defensive system than mediocre at four different ones. Simplicity in your defensive rules allows your players to communicate more effectively and react instinctively rather than thinking their way through a possession. As you move toward the postseason, your defense should become your team's "safety net"—the one thing they can rely on when the shots aren't falling. By using member calls and film study to refine your rotations and "closeout contain" techniques, you build a defensive unit that is difficult to scout and even harder to score against. Ultimately, the right defense is the one that your players "own" and believe in with absolute conviction. On today's episode, we're doing a full deep dive into the Beckham family fallout, breaking down the tension between Victoria Beckham and David Beckham, and their son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz. We walk through the timeline of what went wrong, the reported media leaks from both sides, and the moments that quietly shifted the family dynamic. We also respond directly to Brooklyn's public statements about his parents and read verbatim quotes that shed light on where the relationship fractured, and why reconciliation seems increasingly complicated. And that's not all. We're back covering the Justin Baldoni vs. Blake Lively legal drama, and the Taylor Swift layer everyone keeps talking about. We unpack the texts between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, the language used about Baldoni including calling him a little b and clown, and the email Blake sent to Ben Affleck where she tells him the movie almost killed her. We also examine the public record around Taylor Swift's involvement and why some believe it went beyond what was initially presented. This episode is a fact-checked, timeline-driven breakdown of two headline-dominating controversies — separating what's confirmed, what's alleged, and what the media isn't saying out loud. If you've listened to me for a while or taken any of my classes or workshops, you know that I love finding the solutions to problems we harpists face and creating the step by step plans to take action to solve them. I've discovered over my years of teaching that it's not hard to define the problem, at least the surface problem. For instance, if your left hand can't play the notes in two specific measures of your piece, then that's the problem, and the solution is easy: drill the notes. Sometimes, however, the real issue lies a few layers down. Maybe the reason the left hand can't play those measures isn't the notes. Perhaps there is a technical issue, or maybe reading bass clef is the sticking point. It could be a counting issue or even not quite understanding what the meaning of the music is at that moment. So when I'm working with my Gold Circle students, we often spend some time digging a little deeper to see where the real issue is. Then we can define the proper steps to address it. I'm mentioning this, not because we're going to talk about solving problems today, at least not exactly. What I want to point out is that music study isn't as linear as we would like it to be. It would be terrific if we could practice a piece, put extra time on the hard spots, polish it up and play it, but we all know that it doesn't always work that way. That's because when we play music, we are using a very complex set of skills that involves much more than just playing with our best technique or learning the notes. This is the skill set that comes under the heading "musicianship." In today's podcast episode, I want to talk about the specific musicianship skills we use everyday in our playing and how to keep them growing and developing. These skills are truly key to your growth as a harpist. I'll help you understand how they connect to each other and to your playing, and we'll talk about how to integrate more intentional musicianship skill development into your daily practice. And we'll do that using a concept I developed called the Sensory Triangle. Send us a textIs the Oklahoma City Thunder a budding dynasty or a team that hasn't met its "Detroit Pistons" yet?In this deep dive, we explore the evolution of Michael Jordan from a statistically explosive rookie to a disciplined champion, and how that transformation serves as a warning for the modern-day OKC Thunder. 1. The Importance of Communication: During our discussion, we emphasize how critical it is for manufacturers to communicate recalls effectively. One listener from Kirksville, Missouri, shared their story about discovering a recall on their Triangle Tube Challenger, which they were never informed of. This raises concerns about the accountability of manufacturers in ensuring their customers are aware of potential hazards.2. Understanding the Triangle Tube Challenger: We delve into the specifics of the Triangle Tube Challenger and the issues that can arise with its hybrid heat exchanger design. Eric and Andy reflect on their own experiences with the unit, illustrating how a lack of awareness about recalls can lead to costly repairs and safety concerns for homeowners. The listener's $900 repair bill for parts due to a malfunctioning heat exchanger highlights the real financial implications of these issues.3. Navigating Warranty Issues: A significant part of the conversation centers around how contractors should handle warranty claims. Andy shares his approach of bypassing local sales chains when dealing with warranty issues, opting instead to communicate directly with manufacturers. This strategy can increase the chances of getting parts covered under warranty, a crucial tip for contractors managing similar situations.4. Checking for Recalls: As we discuss the process of checking for recalls, both Eric and Andy admit that they often rely on quick Google searches to find information. They acknowledge the importance of integrating recall checks into their regular service routines. Eric suggests creating a checklist for boiler servicing that includes a step for checking recalls, making it a standard part of their workflow.5. The Role of Manufacturers: The episode also touches on the role of manufacturers in ensuring product safety. We discuss how recalls can be categorized into voluntary and mandatory recalls and the importance of consumer safety organizations in monitoring these recalls. Understanding the government's role in product safety adds another layer to the conversation about consumer rights. Conclusion: In summary, staying informed about boiler recalls is essential for both contractors and homeowners. The story shared by our listener serves as a reminder of the potential dangers and financial burdens that can arise from overlooked safety notifications. By fostering better communication between manufacturers and consumers and incorporating recall checks into regular service routines, we can enhance safety in our homes. Key takeaways include the importance of being proactive about recalls, understanding warranty processes, and the responsibility manufacturers have in keeping their customers informed.Send us a textSend us your feedback or topic ideas over on our social channels!Eric Aune @mechanicalhub Andy Mickelson @mick_plumbNewsletter sign up: https://bit.ly/MH_email

After coming to port for the holidays, the SS Sparks and Rec is off to sea once more! While many a sailor has been lost to the Bermuda Triangle, only slightly fewer have been swirled away by discussions of the Triangle Framework introduced in today's episode. The discussion seeks to lay out the fundamental roles of all the classes and where they lie on a triangle in relation to one another. The three points are Aggro, Combo, and Control. Welcome back to Home Design Chat with Nancy—the podcast where we talk about smart, functional, and beautiful design for your home.Today is January 12th. Last week, my guest was Kirk Bianchi, a landscape design expert. He'll be joining me again in a few weeks to answer your backyard design questions, so feel free to send those in.Today's topic is one that continues to spark debate in the design world: the kitchen work triangle. Some designers are quick to say that the work triangle is outdated and no longer relevant for 2026 and beyond. This conversation has been ongoing for years, and it's one I've been part of for a long time as kitchens—and the way we use them—have evolved. Before talking about what may replace the work triangle, I want to step back and talk about where it came from. Most people I speak with have heard of the kitchen work triangle, but few know when, why, and how it originated. That curiosity sent me down a bit of a research rabbit hole.In this episode, you'll learn when and where the kitchen work triangle began, whose idea it was, and why it became such a foundational concept in kitchen design—as well as how it's being reinterpreted today.During the podcast, I mentioned that I would share a link about Lillian Gilbreth, whose work had a profound influence on modern kitchen design. I was truly impressed by her accomplishments and her life, which is why I spent some time discussing her contributions. I also revisit zone-based kitchen layouts. I've talked about kitchen zones in previous episodes, but these concepts are worth repeating, especially as they continue to shape how we design kitchens today.I hope you enjoyed today's podcast. If you did, please subscribe on your preferred listening platform so you never miss an episode.I currently have availability in February for kitchen and bathroom design projects. You can email me anytime at Nancy@NancyHugo.com—I'd love to hear from you.And finally, visit DesignersCircleHQ.com, a website I started 18 years ago. Though the Holiday season has just wound down and we've celebrated the arrival of a new year, this time of year is still peak season for cybercriminals and identity thieves. Links: Explore sites Charity Navigator and Give.org to find trusted charity organizations Learn more about the benefits of a Better Checking account Check out TCU University for financial education tips and resources! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Learn more about Triangle Credit Union Transcript: Welcome to Money Tip Tuesday from the Making Money Personal podcast. With online shopping, traveling, and increased sharing of personal information, the risk of identity theft can rise dramatically this time of year. Follow these tips to help keep your identity safe and, in turn, keep this season, and your new year, stress-free. Safeguard Your Personal information Whether you're still shopping in-store or online or traveling to visit friends and family, limit the information that you share. Avoid oversharing and only provide the details necessary for a purchase or transaction. Shred any sensitive documents, since discarded holiday offers, receipts, and financial statements can be goldmines for thieves. Finally, stay vigilant of potential phishing scams. Ignore unsolicited emails or messages asking for personal details for payment information. Strengthen Your Digital Security Cybercriminals ramp up their activities before and after the holidays. Keep your accounts secure and help protect your personal information by enhancing the security of your accounts and your devices. You can stay secure by keeping software up to date. Regular updates help patch vulnerabilities in your devices and the applications that you use. Additionally, when you enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access to your account by validating your identity through more than one authentication method. And remember to use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts. Watch Out for Charity Scams While the season inspires generosity, it's also exploited by scammers. Before you donate, take time to verify the charity's legitimacy. Trusted sites like Charity Navigator and Give.org can help you identify and evaluate charity ratings and donor resources. Avoid donating through email or social media links and go directly to the charity's official website. Secure Your Mail and Travel Plans During this time of year, your mail and travel habits can expose you to risks. Hold your mail if you are traveling or ask a trusted neighbor to collect it. Beware of package theft, too. If you are unavailable to bring deliveries inside right away, consider using secure delivery options or pick-up lockers to keep your parcels safe. Additionally, if you're traveling in the near future, be mindful about what you share. Advertising your absence or accidentally revealing sensitive data in photos, such as full name and date of birth, could increase your risk of identity theft and fraud. At Triangle Credit Union, your security is our top priority. By following these tips now and throughout the year, you can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of identity theft. Stay vigilant and proactive in looking after your personal and financial information. If you suspect identity theft for any reason, contact us - even if it's not related to your account at Triangle. If you have a Triangle Better Checking account, you have access to a professional, certified Identity Theft Recovery Advocate who can work with you one-on-one to identify and resolve identity theft or fraud and return your identity and your accounts to pre-event status. If there are any other tips or topics you would like us to cover, let us know at tcupodcast@trianglecu.org. “Burnout is when you reach a point where there is no mystery in the music making anymore and you're just redoing what you've always done. You're reheating it. Self-exploration should be the goal of every musician. The idea of staying connected to sound through listening and really fantasizing is essential. You have to believe there's magic in the room, and then magic happens. What a gift it is to share music with other people in that room at that time.”GRAMMY-nominated conductor James Jordan is recognized and praised throughout the musical world as one of America's pre-eminent conductors, writers and innovators in choral music. Tonight's guest is Poly, calling from Israel, but her experiences began in Bogotá, Colombia in the early 1980s, when she experienced a black triangle with three lights. Time froze, sound vanished, and streams of green numbers filled her mind, giving her a sudden understanding that the craft was not human. Years later in Israel, Poly underwent surgery where doctors discovered what appeared to be a tiny metallic cube inside a ruptured pituitary cyst. Around the same period, she began dreaming of waking in a red desert landscape environment, guided by a black-eyed child toward a simple canvas tent that opened into a large craft. Inside were human women in labour, hybrid infants, and a tall mantis-like figure directing the activity.More information on this episode on the podcast website:https://ufochroniclespodcast.com/ep-365-desert-light/Hidden Cults (Promo)It is a documentary-style podcast that digs deep into the world's most extreme, elusive, and explosive fringe groups.
