Groep 3 van de Gereformeerde Basisschool De Wierde in het Groningse Winsum stuurde mij envelop 22/250 terug. Daarin zat een A4tje met foto's van hun school, een lokaal met een fotocamera, en voorop staan de woorden 'Say cheese!'.Chris vroeg een professionele fotograaf om van alle kinderen een portret te maken. En ze dan de dag na het portret te interviewen. Chris gaat op pad met een ansichtkaart op zoek naar Frits, aan wie de kaart ooit verstuurd werd. Onderweg belandt hij bij Jac Madou, de huidige bewoner, die zijn eigen rariteitenkabinet heeft gemaakt. Daarnaast hoor je de bijzondere levensgeschiedenis van Reverend Pedro die op de ansichtkaart staat. Wanneer Chris Frits eenmaal gevonden heeft vertelt die waarom hij ooit besloot om zich eventueel voor altijd in Amerika te vestigen. Die krant staat vol met nieuws over de maanlanding die twee dagen daarvoor plaats vond. Maar op de voorpagina staat nog een ander bericht: over een veertienjarig zweefvliegertje dat belaagd werd door acht straaljagers. Aangezien de meeste presidenten in de mid-term elections, die volgend jaar zijn, wat stemmen verliezen, moet hij nu doorpakken als hij zijn plannen wil realiseren. Nu heeft hij nog een meerderheid in het Huis en de Senaat, straks wellicht niet meer. Al zijn overheidsbestedingen niet altijd even efficiënt, ze zijn wel goed voor de economie. En dat is weer goed voor bedrijven en hun winsten. Het is dan ook een van de positieve factoren in deze aandelenmarkt. De financiering niet, maar het geld moet ergens vandaan komen. Daarom wil Biden de bedrijfsbelastingen van 21 procent naar 28 procent verhogen. Dan is de helft van Trumps belastingverlaging weer ongedaan gemaakt. Dat had toen nauwelijks impact op de economie, maar op de bedrijfswinsten des te meer. Uitstekend idee Destijds zorgde het voor een extra winststijging van ongeveer 14 procent. Met een natte duim kun je uitrekenen dat Bidens belastingplan een negatief effect van 7 procent op de winsten heeft. Een onderbelicht aspect van zijn plan is het minimumtarief van 15 procent. Dat lijkt mij een uitstekend idee. Daarmee voorkom je veel belastingontwijking, zeker als je bedenkt dat het effectieve percentage dat bedrijven nu betalen slechts 14,9 procent is. Luister terug | Corné van Zeijl | Financiële Domino-D-Day Dat is tegelijkertijd ook het moeilijkste deel van het plan. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld een extra belastingaftrek invoeren om groene energie te stimuleren, maar vervolgens moeten die bedrijven toch weer extra belastingen gaan betalen om aan die minimum van 15 procent te voldoen. Zoals altijd is een belastingplan verzinnen erg makkelijk. Een belastingplan uitvoeren is heel wat moeilijker. De Amerikaanse overheid komt overigens nog wel wat tekort. De belastingverhoging levert volgens Tax Policy Center ongeveer 1 biljoen dollar op in de komende tien jaar. Dit plan kost 2,2 biljoen dollar. De rijkere Amerikanen zijn een volgend doelwit. En terecht: deze groep heeft in de afgelopen decennia een bovenmatig deel van de economische koek gekregen. Schrikmomentje Bidens plan is goed voor de economie en daar zijn beleggers blij mee. Maar deze beleggers houden er nog geen rekening mee dat zij ook een flink deel van de rekening zullen moeten betalen. Misschien komt dat nog. Voor de meeste mensen is zon blauwe envelop toch altijd een schrikmomentje. So we have said goodbye to 2020 and all of the insanity that came with it, but there is something we haven’t said goodbye to: working from home. Many companies have pledged to work from home well into 2021, leaving us sitting in  our sweatpants, computer monitors and weird makeshift home offices with reluctant acceptance. Abstract: The ZIKA virus has caused a heavy concern everywhere the globe because of its high infectivity and mortality rate. Still, there's no specific drug or preventive medication to treat ZIKA infection despite comprehensive analysis by the researchers. This study was designed to demonstrate the efficacy of some plant derived bioactive compounds against ZIKV by using both structure and ligand based virtual screening methods. A number of 35 plant metabolites were screened against ZIKA NS2B-NS3 protease (5LC0), Envelop protein (5JHM), Capsid protein (5YGH) and NS5 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase protein (5U04) employing molecular docking approach. Results showed that there have been four metabolites, i.e. Chicoric acid, Luteone, Reserpine and Rosmarinic acid provide highest binding affinity to targeted ZIKV proteins. Crucial binding sites and drug surface hotspots are unraveled for every targeted viral protein. The ADME study showed that neither of the candidate compounds had side effects that would reduce their drug-like properties. As compared, the toxicity pattern analysis has unmasked the non-toxic essence of top drug candidates. The RMSD values of ligand-macromolecule complexes were 2 Angstrom apart from Envelop protein- Chicoric Acid, although the RMSF values showed normal atomic fluctuations within the molecular dynamics analysis, with the exception of Envelop protein- Chicoric Acid. The expected majority of the target class the highest drug candidates is enzyme classes (e.g. protease, hydrolase, phosphatase). In addition, the drug similarity prediction revealed several structural analogs from drugbank such as Isoformononetin (DB04202), Deserpidine (DB01089) and Rescinnamine (DB01180) etc. and these analogs could even be an option for the treatment of ZIKV infections. The study can pave the way for the creation of effective ZIKV medications and preventive measures. We highly recommend further in vivo trials for the experimental validation of our findings.
