So, we've finally bowed to all that pressure. We've sold out for Christmas and we've done what is arguably the most famous Christmas movie of all time. Die Hard. Also Mike drops a bombshell. Before Gus Fring from Breaking Bad signed on, before you were doing some first-person platforming up a tower, and before your map was filled with icons, this series had you mowing down some angry monkeys, angry men, and angry monkey men. We're going back almost 20 years, to 2004, to look at a first-person shooter that spawned many sequels. We're talking Far Cry.On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we look at how X-Isle got the attention of Nvidia, many years before the dinosaur island became Far Cry. We also discuss how Crytek were always looking to mix action and stealth in the game, as well as some dream casting for the Uwe Boll film.In our review, you'll hear some chat on how to pronounce the name of the game, how you're noisier when dragging your belly on the ground, the excellent sight and hearing of every enemy, BIG ZOOM ENERGY, the stealth-o-meter, tagging guys via your binoculars, thermal goggles that make the Splinter Cell (and X-Files) noise, the MP5, the Trigens that can leap up into the air, the Trigens that can go invisible, the Trigens that are called fat boys, gun perviness, incredible headshots, punching PC monitors, overpowered baddies, bad stamina, a good-looking jungle, hang glider vs helicopter, poor pacing, the second half of Crytek games, and unintentional Duke Nukem. After all that, the lads take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then they give their final verdicts on whether Far Cry is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those that would like to play along at home, we'll be reviewing Batman: Arkham Asylum on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS

[This blog will always be free to read, but it's also how I pay my bills. So, if you like what you read, please consider a paid subscription. And yes, I do speaking engagements.]You may have missed it in all the Trump indictment hoopla, but late last night, Kid Rock, aka Robert James Ritchie, posted a 35 sec. video on Twitter in which he fired an MP5 submachine gun in the direction of several cases of Bud Light resting on a table next to a lake. I say in the direction of several cases because he seemed to struggle in taking them out.No, I'm not kidding. I'll post it here for your convenience.Mr. Ritchie was apparently upset that Bud Light—whose parent company is Anheuser-Busch—hired Dylan Mulvaney, a massively popular TikTok star, as one of their new brand ambassadors. She's a nice lady and deserves her success. She also happens to be a trans woman, thus the bellyaching from social conservatives.Normally, I'd be worried over Mr. Ritchie's violent gun message concerning the inclusion of trans people — if he were capable of aiming correctly. Alas, he doesn't appear to be much of a threat with firearms. It turns out that worrying about Kid Rock shooting you is kinda like worrying about losing a spelling bee to Donald Trump. It ain't worth the trouble.Because I am a benevolent queen, I've decided to offer some feedback to Mr. Ritchie on how to fire his weapon. You see, despite being a star-spangled patriot, he never actually served in the military even though he was an able-bodied young man eligible to enlist during the Persian Gulf War and the War on Terrorism. So, you could forgive him for not knowing the basics.Of course, it's harder to forgive him for claiming to care about the troops but wearing a hat that honors a five-time draft dodger who called service members that died in combat “losers” and “suckers.”But I did serve in the Army, in the infantry, and I was actually raised in the South around firearms, and as a woman who has fired plenty of assault rifles and machine guns in my lifetime, I'm happy to offer Mr. Ritchie some guidance. As you can see in the video, Mr. Ritchie, no more than 20 yards away from his targets, practically point-blank range with that kinda weapon, struggles mightily to take down the cases of Bud Light. In fact, after his tantrum, two of the cases are still completely upright, barely even touched.Sorry, that's a tad inaccurate because it wasn't just him firing. Although Mr. Ritchie implies in the video that he's the only one shooting, one of his buddies is actually off-camera, just to the right of the frame, firing what appears to be a shotgun — given away by three blasts that nick the left side of the table and land in the lake behind it.So, between the two of them combined, from 20 yards away, well… let's just say these two gentleman should stick to their day jobs.Okay, Mr. Ritchie, some tips:First, always wear eye protection. You never know when the weapon may malfunction, nor guarantee where a bullet casing or excess gun powder or other debris might fly.Ear protection is a good idea, too — especially for a musician who has been known to struggle with pitch. Just looking out for ya.Let's talk about your firing stance. It's garbage. It needs work.Your frame should be facing toward the target, not from the side. Feet shoulder width apart, right foot slightly behind the left (since you're right-handed) about six inches. At the moment, your stance looks like you're golfing, which is a bit ironic given that your shooting skills are… subpar. You wanna keep your weight equally balanced on both feet and flex your knees a bit, something which I would think you'd be eager to do since you haven't flexed a big chart hit in almost 15 years.Your hand placement is alright, but for some strange reason, you got bad chicken wing going on. That's when your firing elbow sticks all the way up and out, making it harder to stabilize the weapon. Bring it into your side. This'll make it easier to aim, especially with the recoil. And oh lord, that aim. Instead of sweeping your line-of-fire across the target, back-and-forth, and hoping something sticks, try holding your firing sight—that metal thingie popping up out of the top of the barrel—at the midsection of the target. Now, fire a controlled burst—that's several rounds—and once you've hit it, move to the next one.Not only will you be more accurate and faster in engaging targets, but you'll save ammo — and whatever fish had the misfortune of being in that lake behind your target where most of you and your buddy's rounds went.Okay, let's talk about the beer. You wasted a good $75—$100 of Bud Light. Now, where I come from, that's a lot of money. You see, actual blue collar families can't just drop a hundred bucks' worth of beer for s***s and giggles. That's a waste. I'm trying to be patient with you on this because I understand you're the furthest thing from blue collar. You grew up on a palatial estate, apple picking and raising horses, because your daddy owned several car dealerships. Your family has wealth: six acres and a mansion with a tennis court, five-car garage, and guest house in lily-white Romeo, Michigan. You're about as southern and blue collar as Mitt Romney.I was raised in trailer parks in Central Texas by actual rednecks, so I hope you'll forgive me for being amused by seeing you struggle to cosplay one of my folks. I promise you it wasn't especially romantic. We had what we had and tried to make the most of it. We couldn't call daddy up and ask for a bridge loan.If you feel I've reduced you to a caricature based on a few things in your bio, maybe it's a sign you should get to know trans folks like myself and Ms. Mulvaney before you reduce us to caricatures based on your own assumptions.Try being a straight shooter for once, Mr. Ritchie.Charlotte's Web Thoughts is a reader-supported publication. Our topic is the firearm silencer (a.k.a.; suppressor, sound moderator, can and muffler). Lefty's special guest is the "Scientist of Silencers" John Hollister, National Commercial Sales Trainer for Sig Sauer. John "Leaducates" us on the history of the firearm silencer in America and the roll Hiram Percy Maxim and the Maxim family played in it's modern day creation. We then get into the actual science that goes into the functionality of silencers, we discuss designs, materials, maintenance, the federal tax stamp and we bust some silencer myths. Riding Shotgun With Charlie#152Alex SansoneThe Suited Shootist At the NRAAM in Houston this year, I got to co-emcee the Concealed Carry Fashion show presented by RealizeFAC with Amanda Sufffecool. She and I have hosted these all around the country. We use models who are influencers, instructors, and activists in the firearm community. One of the models at NRAAM was Alex Sansone, The Suited Shootist. Amanda said I needed to have him on the show, so after a quick intro back and forth, he said he would be able to make it happen while we were in Houston. We filmed the show on a Sunday morning and there were barely any protesters! Alex grew up in the DC area with a ‘gun agnostic' family, which only had a shotgun for trap shooting. He did do some .22 rifle shooting during summer camp, but it wasn't a regular thing his family did. September 11, 2001 changed things for his family and his father became interested in firearms for self defense and personal protection. David Yamane calls these folks, myself included, called Gun Culture 2.0. Alex always had an interest in firearms going back to watching Air Force One on VHS and seeing an MP5 sliding across the floor. During his college years, he became more interested in personal protection, after he noticed that many students didn't have situational awareness. Later he moved to Texas and started working at a gun store and started some training. After a few years of ‘turning ammunition into expensive noise', some friends turned him onto some of the well known trainers, including Massad Ayoob (RSWC #045). Currently, he's got about 400 hours of training under his belt. After meeting the woman who became his wife, he realized that he needed to start dressing better. He admits that he was the guy you'd see who had an attractive wife and you'd wonder why she was with him.. Alex was ‘that guy' and realized that reflected poorly on his wife. So he made some changes in the way he dressed. After doing some YouTube research, he found Tanner Guzy who runs Masculine Style. Guzy says there's 3 style archetypes: rugged, refined, and rakish. And at some level, every man is a little of each. While working a white collar job and wearing only dark suits, he still wanted to carry. Alex discovered that he needed to find a way to be able to carry but not get bigger clothes as is often suggested to folks who carry. Claude Werner (RSWC #086) taught Alex that bigger clothes makes folks you see regularly take a closer look at what you're wearing and gets them thinking that maybe you aren't losing weight, which can also draw attention from them. At one point while Alex was carrying at work and against company policy and was at a job. He talks about how making the decision to be armed at work vs working and being unarmed isn't always an easy career choice because you still have to work and make money. All of this led him to being outspoken about this issue and starting a YouTube channel called The Suited Shootist. After a year of writing a blog and someone telling him more than 500 words should be a video, Alex had to learn about video and editing and YouTubing. On the channel, he gets into lots of topics about carrying and making your carry gear disappear and the pros and cons of several methods all while keeping it fashionable and looking good. I really enjoyed having Alex on the show. I appreciate that he was able to squeeze in a car ride with a stranger and that I'm able to expand my circle of friends. Favorite quotes: “The kids that are just leaving their valuable stuff out…seem to be the ones suffering these consequences.” “A lot of the style influencers were not delving too deeply into the why's and the how's.” “I've been in environments where going armed is somewhere between unusual and unacceptable.” “We're going to have to live with the gun a whole lot more than we're going to have to use the gun.” The Suited Shootist YouTube https://www.youtube.com/c/TheSuitedShootist The Suited Shootist Blog https://thesuitedshootist.home.blog/ The Suited Shootist Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thesuitedshootist/ The Suited Shootist Instagram https://www.instagram.com/the_suited_shootist Second Amendment Foundation http://saf.org/ Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms https://www.ccrkba.org/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters. कTठमTड#मT सTगत छ To efterskælv på hhv. 2. 3. Herlighedernes by Kathmandu er også kendt som Kantipur, der egentlig betyder ”Herlighedernes By” på dansk. Den rige omfattende kultur og de mange religioner gør den til The City of Glory. 4. 5.
WELCOME TO KATHMANDU Before going to Nepal, I'd been told that this country has some very friendly people – that show a genuine interest in who you are and where you're from. And that was the case already in the taxi on the way from the airport to the city. In the car with Basu Rimal, he asked a lot about where I was from and what it was like there. He told me that he had been to Scandinavia. “I've been to Norway and Finland, but not Denmark yet. Scandinavia is really nice, I really liked it but it's very cold.” Basu works in tourism and has a tour company called Nepalaya Treks And Expedition, where he does trekking in Himalaya. YOU DECIDED ON NEPAL In last week's episode, I asked you where we should go. And there was a big majority in the votes that said that we should go to Nepal. Thank you all for being so active in saying your opinion on The Radio Vagabond on Facebook. I'm here with a good friend from Denmark, and we're staying in a guest house called Ambassador Garden Home in a vibrant lively area called Thamel in the heart of Kathmandu. Thamel have the biggest tourist market in Nepal and the biggest business hub with a ton of guest houses, restaurants, shops, and bookstores. Obviously, I found Ambassador Garden Home on Hotels25.com. LANGUAGE IN NEPAL Nepal has 122 major languages. Nepali is the most common spoken by 78% of the population either as first or second language and has official language status. But the other 121 languages are all recognized national languages. PATAN DURBAR SQUARE Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of the city of Lalitpur, around 10 km from the city center of Kathmandu in Nepal. This square is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, which are all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Durbar Square is a marvel of Newar architecture. The square floor is tiled with red bricks. There are many temples in the area. There is also a bell beside the main temples. It's a stunning and lively area. NEPAL EARTHQUAKE In April 2015 the square was heavily damaged by the big Nepal Earthquake. The earthquake struck near the city of Kathmandu in central Nepal. About 9,000 people were killed, many thousands more were injured, and more than 600,000 structures in Kathmandu and other nearby towns were either damaged or destroyed. The initial shock registered a magnitude of 7.8, with the epicentre only around 77 km (48 miles) northwest of Kathmandu. And two large aftershocks, with magnitudes 6.6 and 6.7, shook the region within one day of the main quake. Here is a YouTube video shot right here when the earthquake hit. 7 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT KATHMANDU Big City in the Valley Kathmandu is the capital city and largest city of Nepal with a population of 1.5 million in the city, and 3 million in its wider urban areas across the Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu is the 17th highest capital in the world Last week we were in La Paz, Bolivia – the highest capital in the world, and Kathmandu is also up there. Standing at approximately 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) above sea level it's number 17 on the list. City of Glory Kathmandu is known as Kantipur which means the city of glory. The rich ancient culture and diverse religion make this city as the city of glory. UNESCO Hot Spot Kathmandu valley is full of cultures and heritage sites. It has seven UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Kathmandu Valley itself was accorded the status of a World Heritage Site in 1979. The World's Biggest Mountain is Close Mt. Everest is 240 km away from Kathmandu and is seen from Kathmandu valley. Never a Colony Even though this country lies in between the two big countries India and China, which was ruled by the British, Nepal was never a colony and never ruled by any foreigners and other countries. Kingdom Nepal was a kingdom ruled by the Shah family 1768 to 2008. The beginning of the end for the kingdom was when the Crown Prince killed his father the king, his mother, brother, sister, and many other members of his family in 2001. ROYAL MASSACRE I'm visiting the place where it all happened. Narayanhiti Palace is now a museum, and used to be the royal palace. This is where most of the royal family got killed by the Crown Prince on the 1st of June 2001. Here's how the official story goes: The Royal family gathered on a Friday, as they usually did on Fridays for a family evening. The king, the queen, their kids and a few cousins and close friends. In total 24 people were invited. After dinner, the Crown Prince Dipendra was in the pool room playing pool alone while drinking whiskey and smoking a cigar containing a mixture of hashish … as he often did. When his brother Prince Niranjan and other family members noticed that he was starting to sway back and forth and had difficulty standing, they suggested that he went to bed. While he was in the bedroom, he made several phone calls to his girlfriend, Devyani Rana. She later said that she noticed that his voice sounded a little weak and very slurry, so she called his assistant and asked him to go and check on him to make sure he was okay. He and another assistant went into Dipendra's bedroom and found him lying on the floor. They helped him undress and then he went into the bathroom and started throwing up. He then turned to his assistants and asked them to leave the room and called his girlfriend one last time and said to her: “I'm going to bed. Goodnight, we'll talk tomorrow.” But he didn't go to bed. After this call, he put on an army uniform, and armed himself to the teeth with an MP5 machine gun, an M16 assault rifle, and a Glock pistol. And left the bedroom. He then started walking back to the pool room where the family and friends were chatting and having drinks. At this time, his father King Birendra, was sitting at the pool table, entertaining the guests with a story. Dipendra reached the pool room and stood at the door. First fired one shot from the machine gun toward the ceiling. Conversation stopped and they all looked towards the door in disbelief. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, SON? Dipendra then pointed the gun at his father, the King and shot and wounded him. Witnesses later told that the King just looked at him and said, “What are you doing, son?” – before he fell to the floor. Dipendra then opened fire again and killed half of his family in that one room. His mother and his brother managed to escape into the palace grounds. But Dipendra followed them and shot them dead too. In the massacre, he killed his father, his mother, his younger brother, his sister, and other close members of his family. In total nine members of the royal family was killed, and five others wounded. At the end, Dipendra turned the gun on himself. He didn't die intently and while coma at the hospital, he was crowned king – according to rules of succession. But died in hospital three days after the massacre without regaining consciousness. WHY DID HE DO IT? No one really knows why he did this. Some say that he wanted to depose his father and install himself as king – bringing the monarchy back to absolute rule. Others say that he was put up to this by his uncle, the king's younger brother, who wanted to be king himself. Some say that he was angry at his family because they wouldn't let him marry the woman that he loved – Devyani Rani who was a member of a riveling dynasty. And then… some say that he didn't pull the trigger. He was described as an always smiling gentleman and a modernist who would be for democracy in Nepal. Much controversy and conspiracies surround the circumstances of the massacre. Even today. Many questions remain unresolved. Questions like the apparent lack of security at the event; the absence of the Prince Gyanendra, Dipendra's uncle who succeeded him. Also, the fact that Dipendra's self-inflicted head-wound was located at his left temple, despite him being right-handed. And the fact that the investigation only lasted for two weeks and wasn't very thorough. It didn't involve any major forensic analysis – despite an offer by Scotland Yard to carry one out. But according to a government-appointed inquiry team the Crown Prince Dipendra was named as perpetrator of the massacre. I've put a link to a video from Journeyman Pictures where surviving family members tell their eyewitness accounts of what happened. NARAYANHITI PALACE MUSEUM The visit to the Narayanhiti Palace Museum was absolutely fascinating! It feels like walking through the history of Shah dynasty of Nepal. Everything inside the palace makes you seem royal. Larger than life pictures and paintings of Royals of Nepal, and lots and lots of mirrors can be found on every place you look. You will get a lot of steps walking through each and every part of the museum and I encourage you to do so if you want the best experience. Entrance fee was 500 Nepalese Rupee (bit more than 4 USD, bit less than 4 Euro). You must hand in cameras and phones as photography is strictly prohibited. So, I don't have any pictures from the visit. They also told me that I couldn't bring my microphone – even though it was clearly not a camera. So, since I don't have any pictures from the visit, you'll have to go yourself when you're in Kathmandu, and don't forget to look for the bullet holes! WEATHER IN NEPAL What about the weather in Kathmandu? Well, the wet season is warm, muggy, and partly cloudy and the dry season is comfortable and mostly clear. I'm here in December – in what is called “The cool season” and normally lasts for two months, from early December. And I could feel it was a bit chilly when I arrived. In Nepal, there are different climates according to altitude: the sub-tropical climate with a rainy season in the southern flat strip, the temperate climate in the low mountains, and finally, the cold mountain climate in the peaks of the Himalayas. In the summer monsoon from June to early October they get a lot of rain. SWAYAMBHUNATH STUPA – MONKEY TEMPLE The Swayambhunath Stupa (also called Monkey Temple) is one of most interesting places in the Kathmandu Valley, when it comes to architecture. And when they call it The Monkey Temple, there's a reason for that. Hundreds, if not thousands of monkeys run around here. And they are not shy. As you can see in the main photo of this episode, a monkey walked past me and pushed me a bit as I was doing some recordings while leaning against a wall. The Stupa itself is a perfectly proportioned monument in the middle that rises through a whitewashed dome to a gilded spire, from where four iconic faces of the Buddha look out across the valley in different directions. Above the stupa are thousands of prayer flags, with mantras, which are said to be carried to heaven by the Wind Horse. The site was also shaken severely by the 2015 earthquake, but the main stupa only got superficial damage. I'LL BE BACK My three-day visit to Kathmandu was coming to an end. Sitting in the airport I knew one thing: I'm doing an “Arnold” when I say that I'll be back. And this is not something, I say every time I leave a place (but often). In this case it's something, I know for sure. And when I do, I want to find a nice little quiet place in the mountains and stay longer. I want to be able to wake up and have my morning coffee with a stunning view. And spend some time getting close to the wonderful people of this country. And get some quality time with the people I already met, like Basu, and most of all someone, you didn't hear speak in this episode: Ajay. He appears briefly in the interview episode, I made here with another traveller, Robin when I was here. Robin is this young German backpacker, who met Ajay on a previous trip. Ajay was his tuk-tuk driver, he invited Robin home to meet his family and this time Robin was back. Ajay lives a bit away from Kathmandu and took time off from work to show us around his capital city. Since then, I've been in regular contact with Ajay, and he is one of the reasons, I really want to come back here. My name is Palle Bo, and I gotta keep moving. See you.

The Tennessee Assembly has passed a constitutional carry bill and sent it to Governor Lee who has publicly endorsed it and will sign it into law. We congratulate and applaud Tennessee and welcome them to the club. During our Brownells Bullet Points segment we will consider the new AP5 9mm pistols from Century Arms. We will also discuss the numerous parts and upgrades that are available for this MP5 clone. For our SOTG Homeroom from CrossBreed Holsters, we are extremely disappointed and angry to find that the 9th Circuit Court has once more failed the people and sided with the totalitarian state. Do you believe that 14th Century British Law applies to the United States in 2021? Thanks for being a part of SOTG! We hope you find value in the message we share. Terminator 2: Judgment DayWritten, directed and produced by James CameronStarring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, and Edward Furlong.Released July 3, 1991Budget: $98mBox office: $520.9mGross: $422.9mPlot:Intro: LA 2029 Humans battling the machines. Voiceover 3 billion lives lost on April 29, 1997 - Judgement day.S: all practical effects, no CGI-the music!-And then the Terminator coming through the flames at the end of the intro epic In 1995, John Connor is living in Los Angeles with his foster parents. Hismother, Sarah Connor, had been preparing him throughout his childhood for hisfuture role as the human resistance leader against Skynet, the artificialintelligence that will be given control of the United States' nuclear missiles andinitiate a nuclear holocaust on August 29, 1997, known thereafter as "JudgmentDay". However, Sarah was arrested and imprisoned at a mental hospital afterattempting to bomb a computer factory. In 2029, Skynet sends a newTerminator, designated as T-1000, back in time to kill John. The T-1000 is anadvanced prototype made out of liquid metal (referred to as "mimetic polyalloy")that gives it the ability to take on the shape and appearance of almost anything ittouches, and to transform its arms into blades and other shapes at will. TheT-1000 arrives, kills a policeman, and assumes his identity; he also uses thepolice computer to track down John. Meanwhile, the future John Connor hassent back a reprogrammed Model 101 Terminator to protect his younger self. S: T101 entrance badass, little spoiled by “Bad to the Bone”-T1000 intro very mincing. We also don't know what kind of Terminator he is, yet-Early 90's point: foster dad smoking inside. Weird.-John Conners friend is Danny Cooksey, who also played Bobby Budnick on Nickelodeon's show Salute Your Shorts from 91-93. The Terminator and the T-1000 converge on John in a shopping mall, and achase ensues after which John and the Terminator escape together on amotorcycle. Fearing that the T-1000 will kill Sarah in order to get to him, Johnorders the Terminator to help free her, after discovering that the Terminator mustfollow his orders. They encounter Sarah as she is escaping from the hospital, although she is initially reluctant to trust the Model 101. After the trio escapefrom the T-1000 in a police car, the Terminator informs John and Sarah aboutSkynet's history.[a] Sarah learns that the man most directly responsible forSkynet's creation is Miles Bennett Dyson, a Cyberdyne Systems engineerworking on a revolutionary new microprocessor that will form the basis forSkynet. S:-Sarah Conner is 29-Note when T1000 is questioning foster parents, dogs barking in background.-I like how both terminators are stalking/pursing John. We're not sure of their intention, yet.-brilliant how they used corporate coverup to eliminate any plot holes from the previous film.*MALL:*-The Afterburner video game (which was an awesome game) John is playing says “The End” as the terminators zero in.-when the terminator pulls the shotgun from the flowers why does he have to cock it? Why isn't it already loaded?-I love the sound design of the liquid metal terminator-The music, pacing, acting, and editing, make this first fight between the terminators perfect. Zero emotion.*CHASE:*-TOW TRUCK OFF THE BRIDGE!!-Is it normal for all the broken down/abandoned cars in the drainage things?-T101 doing the swing reload on the motorcycle = AWESOME.-How does a heavy tow truck bumping a 10-12 year old on a dirt bike not knock him over?!-Biggest complaint about the whole section: sometimes you can tell it's stunt actors.-Also, T1000 walking through flames = epic.GETTING AWAY:-followed by a LOT of exposition.-foster parents on phone, dogs barking again.-Sarah plays it REALLY smart when being questioned.-90's lingo: “Did you call MUWAH a dipshit?”SARAH ESCAPE:-I tried picking locks with paper clips bc of this movie. Never worked.-T1000 coming off the floor, awesome.-Guard has a full house, 2 aces and 3 diamonds.-Sound design, how the footsteps change when T1000 changes from guard to original form.*MENTAL HOSPITAL ESCAPE*-Iconic line: “I swear I will not kill anybody” then shoots the guard, “He'll live”-Sarah's fear seeing the T101 = excellent-T1000 going through the bars 10 years BEFORE The Rock and his CGI scorpion king in the Mummy Returns. James Cameron ahead of his time.-When did John get all the ammo?-like most sound design, but T1000 sounds like he's got a silencer, and shooting a shotgun and 45 in an elevator, they'd be deaf.-Lots of exposition, Dyson, sky net and cyberdyne. Sarah gathers weapons from an old friend and plans to flee with John to Mexico, but after having a nightmare about Judgment Day, she instead sets out to killDyson in order to prevent Judgment Day from occurring. Finding him at hishome, she wounds him but finds herself unable to kill him in front of his family.John and the Terminator arrive and inform Dyson of the future consequences ofhis work. They learn that much of his research has been reverse engineeredfrom the damaged CPU and the right arm of the previous Terminator whoattacked Sarah back in 1984. Convincing him that these items and his designsmust be destroyed, they break into the Cyberdyne building, retrieve the CPUand the arm, and set explosives to destroy Dyson's lab. The police arrive andDyson is fatally shot, but he rigs an improvised dead man's switch thatdetonates the explosives when he dies. The T-1000 relentlessly pursues thesurviving trio, eventually cornering them in a steel mill. S:MEXICO:-in the car, lots of exposition, 90's slang galore: no problemo, chill out dickwad.-Background and building Sarah Conner as more than helpless waitress from T1-Sarah realizes T101 is the best father John could have.-Sarah's dream sequence was amazing. All practical effects. So well done. (Movie Magic show)DYSON HOUSE:-Why couldn't she kill Dyson? No fate quote? Not taking the boys father away? She knows someone else will make skynet happen anyway?-lots more exposition.CYBERDYNE:-A child can use a backpack computer to “hack” a computer engineering company lock? Ok.-Why does the T1000 need a helmet?-T101 WITH A MINI GUN!!-Mp5, iconic 90's cop/bad guy gun.-T101 hallway walk, mixture of real and fake. (Movie magic show)CHASE:-Impressive helicopter pilot skills-Love this is all full sized, real vehicles, not CGI/green screen. All practical.-Awes9me progression of T1000 freezing and breaking.-Hasta la vista, baby. The T-1000 and Model 101 fight and the more advanced model seriouslydamages and shuts down the Model 101. However, unbeknownst to the T-1000,the Model 101 brings itself back online using an alternate power source. TheT-1000 nearly kills John and Sarah but the Model 101 takes it by surprise andblasts it into a crucible of molten steel with a grenade launcher, dissolving anddestroying it. John tosses the arm and CPU of the original Terminator into thevat as well. As Sarah expresses relief that the ordeal is over, the Terminatorexplains that to ensure that it is not used for reverse engineering it must itself bedestroyed too. It asks Sarah to assist in lowering it into the vat of molten steel, since it is unable to "self-terminate". Although John begs and eventually ordersthe Terminator to reconsider, it makes the decision to defy him, bids themfarewell and hugs a tearful John before it is lowered into the vat, giving a finalthumbs-up as it disappears into the vat. John and Sarah drive down a highwayand Sarah says in a voice over, “The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it forthe first time with a sense of hope. Because if a machine, a Terminator, canlearn the value of human life, maybe we can, too." S:-Love all the little details with the T1000 during the fight. Morphing, silver shimmer when he crushes the T101s arm.-amazing fight choreography-Again, shotgun isn't loaded?! Why is Sarah just now loading it?-When The T1000 crushes T101 face, how awesome and real it looked.-John being a dumbass and falling for the T1000 impersonating his mom?-Sarah shoots T1000 to the edge and runs out. Why not run and drop kick him over the fucking edge?-T101 being more “human” “I need a vacation” and “Terminated”-The thumbs up and computer shut down… classic and a dad move.-Heartstring ending. Epic theme music. -For a “happy” ending, they forget Sarah is an escaped criminal, they blew up cyberdyne, sure they MAY HAVE saved the future (which, future movies show us they didn't) but they're still wanted criminals. K., Xu, S., Hayatshahi, H. S. Abstract: The COVID-19 pathogen, SARS-CoV-2, requires its main protease (SC2MPro) to digest two of its translated polypeptides to form a number of mature proteins that are essential for viral replication and pathogenesis. Inhibition of this vital proteolytic process is effective in preventing the virus from replication in infected cells and therefore provides a potential COVID-19 treatment option. Guided by previous medicinal chemistry studies about SARS-CoV-1 main protease (SC1MPro), we have designed and synthesized a series of SC2MPro inhibitors that contain beta-(S-2-oxopyrrolidin-3-yl)-alaninal (Opal) for the formation of a reversible covalent bond with the SC2MPro active site cysteine C145. All inhibitors display high potency with IC50 values at or below 100 nM. The most potent compound MPI3 has as an IC50 value as 8.5 nM. Crystallographic analyses of SC2MPro bound to 7 inhibitors indicated both formation of a covalent bond with C145 and structural rearrangement from the apoenzyme to accommodate the inhibitors. Virus inhibition assays revealed that several inhibitors have high potency in inhibiting the SARS-CoV-2-induced cytopathogenic effect in both Vero E6 and A549 cells. Two inhibitors MP5 and MPI8 completely prevented the SARS-CoV-2-induced cytopathogenic effect in Vero E6 cells at 2.5-5 uM and A549 cells at 0.16-0.31 uM. Their virus inhibition potency is much higher than some existing molecules that are under preclinical and clinical investigations for the treatment of COVID-19. Our study indicates that there is a large chemical space that needs to be explored for the development of SC2MPro inhibitors with extreme potency. Due to the urgent matter of the COVID-19 pandemic, MPI5 and MPI8 may be quickly advanced to preclinical and clinical tests for COVID-19. Copy rights belong to original authors. After a week-long hiatus, The Last Row Podcast cooks up a new episode and gets back on track with a unique take on Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. Seagal topics include: Louisiana accents, face fatness, ego fatness, and his fake restaurant, Casey’s Dockside Bistro. Non-Seagal topics include: how a rookie would shoot an MP5, the myth that is Dark Territory, high school history teachers as effective evil geniuses, and tips on the correct way to insult a woman before you throw her off of a train. Additionally, the guys have some big recast ideas for the supporting characters and throw all structure to the curb while ranting on the movie’s nonstop absurdity.
George was sitting alone at the team table in the canteen, catching up with two weeks worth of paperwork, when half of the Relief piled in for refs. They greeted him in the usual boisterous round of "welcome back" and "how was the holiday?" A couple of his colleagues noted that he hadn't been his usual chirpy self since he'd got back and wondered if everything was all right.George put down his pen and pushed his papers and files aside as he looked around the familiar faces of his Relief, mostly tucking into their breakfasts but almost all had their eyes on him. As he paused a moment before continuing, a hush actually fell over the gathering, then he said "Spain was okay, apart from getting nicked that is."Suddenly there was uproar. His team threw a torrent of questions at him about what had happened while a couple of others howled with laughter, one poor soul slipped sideways and fell off his chair, taking a bowl of cornflakes with him that ended up over his uniform. Gradually order returned and the flood of questions subsided enough for George to be heard and, as one cornflake and milk covered officer reclaimed his seat while brushing his uniform futilely, he began to tell them the events of his holiday.George and his family had gone to Spain for two weeks of sun, sand and sangria, the flight was fine, the hotel was comfortable and the unwinding had been going well. A week into the holiday and everyone was in high spirits and enjoying themselves relaxing doing pretty much nothing more strenuous than moving from the poolside to the bar and back again. George suggested they hire a car for a couple of days and explore some of the local area and perhaps visit a few of the tourist attractions. The family agreed it was a good idea and the next day they collected an unremarkable saloon car from the local car hire office. Carefully at first but with growing confidence, George became accustomed with driving on the wrong side of the road, in other words on the right hand side. One car in particular caught his attention, an open top Jeep behind them, occupied by four or five excited youths that seemed more interested in standing on their seats dancing than the road and other cars.Sure enough, despite giving it extra room and time for braking, the Jeep tail-ended the Saint family car to the accompaniment of squealing and smoking tyres, as George came to a stop at a set of red lights. George checked his family were safe and unhurt before he got out and walked slowly back to the Jeep that was now embedded in the back of his rental car. Actually the damage wasn't so bad and it didn't take long for George, using a mixture of broken English and Spanish, to do the necessary exchange of details with the other driver. Both vehicles then continued their journeys in different directions and George's family enjoyed a day among vineyards and small market towns before returning to the hotel in the evening. When George told the man in the car rental office what had happened he didn't seem unduly concerned, especially since no one had been hurt. He only asked that George fill out an accident form with a sketch of the accident scene. George decided he would include photographs of the accident site as well, so the next morning he drove back to the junction alone with a camera. He had managed to take shots of the approach to the junction, the junction itself and the skid-marks on the road surface left by the Jeep, when he was suddenly joined by a marked car complete with flashing lights and sirens. George had time to notice the words 'Guarda Civil' painted on the side of the car as four burly, uniformed and armed officers burst out of the car. He didn't even have time to think to himself "that's odd" before he found himself face down on the road surface with an MP5 muzzle at the back of his neck.Very slowly George reached for his warrant card and pulled it from his back right pocket, a booted foot pinned his wrist to the tarmac as the warrant card was snatched from his grip. Almost immediately he was hauled to his feet and dusted down by his captors, one of whom handed him back his warrant card with a smile and an apology in perfect English. The Spanish officer continued to explain that they had been called because a suspicious man had been seen taking photographs there. George looked confused until the officer pointed out that the building they were stood beside was a bank, the bank staff were sure that George was doing the preparation work for an armed robbery there.'Right Click' and 'Save as' to download the audio version
Buon ascolto.
