On Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast this week, hosts Geordie & Michelle look at classic porn star Annie Sprinkle and the wellness-slash-sexy cult OneTaste... There was a time when porn was made in a studio. Porn stars had their own kind of Hollywood and you could become a household name. We're talking the 70s and 80s here - and one of the big names in porn at the time was Annie Sprinkle. This week Geordie looks at the self-confessed porn feminist and discovers her philosophies (questionable), her workshops (vulva circle, anyone?) and her new movement, the Eco Sexual where you can shag a tree and stroke some bark all in the name of Lover Nature. Michelle then dives into the wellness brand - read sex cult - that is OneTaste. When Nicole Daedone met a monk at a party and discovered OM, a brand new Orgasmic Meditation sex technique, she founded a small group called OneTaste to empower women and make them more confident in every aspect of their lives. Except it's alleged they were basically a cult that preyed on sexually dysfunctional women to make a buck. Listen now to hear what OneTaste is all about and why the FBI have had them in court... So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week's episode, plus chat about what dirt is made up of, Gulliver's Travels, a chat with Jen and more, only on Eavesdroppin' podcast. A Tribute to Candida Royalle & the Sexual Revolution with Veronica Vera   Diana Wiley and Veronica Vera were each longtime, close friends of Candida Royalle, a pioneer in producing female-friendly pornographic films. Both women were interviewed by Jane Kamensky, former professor of history at Havard and director of the Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America, for her recently released biography: Candida Royalle & the Sexual Revolution – A History from Below.   The book is a sympathetic, clear-eyed profile of a woman who made female pleasure her business by starting her own production company, Femme Productions, in 1984.  Royalle (Candice Vadala, 1950-2015) prioritized women's pleasure and orgasm in her films, while featuring a variety of sensual and sexual play.  She wasn't interested in making the same, old, typical, boring, (male-focused) pornography.     Veronica Vera (www.veronicaverawrites.com) wrote the column “Veronica Vera's New York” that ran from 1985-1993. Veronica chronicled the sex world of which Candice was a star player. Veronica also founded CLUB 90, the first porn star support group with Candida Royalle, Veronica Hart, Gloria Leonard, and Annie Sprinkle. Fast forward to 2015, Veronica was the executor for Candice's estate, and was instrumental in getting her archive of diaries, journals, and photos to Dr. Kamensky. Veronica knew Candice for about 35 years and loved her dearly.   Diana knew Candice for 28 years and also loved her deeply. They met at a sexology conference. Diana's first impression was that of a radiant woman with a smile that said, “I love life, live it to the fullest, and adore adventures!” Yes, both women were open to adventures! They recognized that immediately as well as their sexual openness. Diana confessed, “My favorite thing is to go where I've never been. There is a scintillating thrill in new adventures!” She thought of herself as a girl of sparkle, shimmer, and shine – at least one in progress. That attitude played out when she worked as a showgirl in Miami Beach in the 70s (this job followed teaching school in Honolulu).   Chapter 25 of the book, “Sex in the 90s,” opens with a photo of Candice and Diana (page 351), who were about to go on the Jenny Jones TV talk show.  The topic: Candida's explicit erotic films for couples to watch and how Diana used them in her therapeutic practice. Later, they envisioned “Case Studies: An Educational Line for Femme Films.”  They proposed a first volume on sex and aging, a research specialty of Wiley's and a huge potential market.   One fan, a woman whose marriage benefited from watching Candida's films, called her the Grace Kelly of Porn – a sophisticated and beautiful woman of incredible integrity, big enough to allow others to shine.   Candice's quest for self-understanding as the center of a life well lived is evident in a 2013 journal: “Still trying to unlock the key to myself.”   Tune in for a fascinating podcast! And buy Jane Kamensky's book … you'll find yourself rooting for Candice Vadala!

“Although challenging, it is not impossible to be a feminist in the artificial environment of mainstream pornography. Nor is it impossible to disrupt the inauthenticity of this staged environment through acting upon one's feminist ethos. – Madison Young, 2014[47] Feminist pornography is less likely to be filmed due to a lack of audience demand since a majority of pornography viewers are male.[48] The scope of the adult entertainment industry depends on the preferences of the majority of their viewers, which creates the need for female actresses to be young and overtly sexualized.[49] The increase in this mainstream mass-produced media puts both actresses and producers of feminist pornography at a disadvantage.[50] Some misconceptions of feminist porn that add to their disadvantage are that it is only for queer women, 'vanilla', and 'man-hating'.[35] When working on feminist porn projects, Ingrid Ryberg, feminist porn producer, wanted to make sure to address these stereotypes, while also staying in the realm of feminist pornography.[51] Some producers, like Tristan Taormino, address this by staying away from stereotypical, mainstream tropes, like 'cum shots', while still respecting the expression of rougher sex.[51] The rise of on-screen appropriations, such as items like a strap-on dildo used by and for the pleasure of females during sexual intercourse, has allowed for more agency for women within the industry.[52] Annie Sprinkle is one example of a woman who chooses to partake in many forms of feminist pornography in order to counter-appropriate patriarchal mainstream pornography.[53] Films in which Sprinkle stars contain scenes of her having orgasms instead of her male on-screen partners.[53] According to Tristan Taormino, "Feminist porn both responds to dominant images with alternative ones and creates its own iconography."[54] What sets feminist porn from mainstream porn is its intentions.[55] Mainstream pornography is made for mass consumption, profit and arousal; feminist pornography is also made for arousal and profit, but also to create content that purposely shows agency, genuine pleasure, and challenges mainstream standards, like beauty and gender roles.[55] One way to conceptualize these differences is through defining sexual objectification and sexual agency.[55] Feminist pornography focuses on promoting sexual agency.[55] Some pornographic actresses such as Nina Hartley,[56] Ovidie,[57] and Madison Young are also self-described sex-positive feminists, and state that they do not see themselves as victims of sexism. They defend their decision to perform in pornography as freely chosen, and argue that much of what they do on camera is an expression of their sexuality. It has also been pointed out that in pornography, women generally earn more than their male counterparts.[58] Hartley is active in the sex workers' rights movement.[56]” -Wikipedia. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

“Feminist porn versus mainstream porn Porn can serve as the lodestar for consent—for representing safe, communicative sex. Instead, mainstream porn is often representing scenes that encourage violence. A 2010 study found that 88 percent of the most popular porn videos included physical aggression and 48 percent of the videos included verbal aggression. Erika Lust explained that, “Too many times in porn, you see the woman being used as just a prop, a passive object that is acted upon.” The study also discovered that in 94 percent of the scenes, most of the aggression was directed toward women. Moreover, young adults are exposed to erotica and porn as young as 10 years old—and many believe that what happens in porn is realistic. Feminist porn does not eradicate violent fantasy, aural play, and bondage. In fact, it celebrates and encourages individuals to radically traverse their fantasies and indulge in them, explore them, and legitimately defend them. Feminist porn does not dismantle fantasy. Actresses are hog-tied; they can be submissive. Annie Sprinkle, the author of Hardcore From the Heart: The Pleasures, Profits, and Politics of Sex in Performance, said, “Sex doesn't always look politically correct.” So, what makes feminist porn different from mainstream porn? The performers typically choose their scenes. It is important to note that mainstream porn is often non-unionized and without benefits, which creates ground for exploitation. Erika Lust explained that her production company provides an environmentally, emotionally, and physically safe space for everyone involved in production. She said, “Ethical porn is adult cinema that [is] guaranteed to have been made with the consent of all parties involved. In ethical porn, boundaries and personal limits are respected. This environment emphasizes safety and mutual respect.” Feminist films also “make sure women are behind the camera and get to make active decisions about how it is produced and presented.” Lust explained that feminist sex scenes represent, “female sexuality, pleasure, and desires.” Of course, feminists are not a monolith. The question of whether porn can even be feminist is still argued among differing groups of feminists. Anti-porn feminists, for example, believe that sex work and pornography is harmful, while pro-sex feminists see it as a person's right to choose. Meanwhile, many feminists, who largely agree that mainstream porn is problematic in production and direction, believe that there is a gray area in between. The subjective gray area of sexual fantasy—for example, rape fantasy—can even represent a feminist dilemma for the viewer. The Feminist Porn Book reminds us, “In the midst of this dilemma, I think it is important to point out that porn is still a form of entertainment.” -https://rewirenewsgroup.com/2017/12/07/feminist-porn-traversing-mainstream/. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

In this episode of The Oldest Profession Podcast, host Kaytlin Bailey explores the significance of December 17th, which is the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. This day has been observed by sex worker advocates and allies worldwide since December 17, 2003. Originally conceived as a memorial for the victims of the Green River serial killer in Seattle, this event reignited the sex worker rights movement and has kept the movement alive for the last twenty years.  In this episode, Kaytlin Bailey highlights the challenges faced by the sex worker rights movement in the 1990s and early 2000s, including violence, an increase in law and order policing, and the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. She pays tribute to Annie Sprinkle, an accomplished performance artist and sex worker rights advocate and Robin Few, one of the founders of SWOP USA, who both played a pivotal role in organizing the first International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. This annual ritual hosted around the world on December 17th allows sex workers and their allies to gather, share their stories, and commemorate those who have lost their lives to violence. These events serve as a powerful reminder that sex workers are real people and deserve dignity, respect, and safety. We at Old Pros encourage listeners to attend or host a December 17th event to support the sex worker rights movement and create awareness about the violence faced by sex workers worldwide. Tune in for a very Taurus episode with Taurus rising represented by Micheal J. Morris and myself. We explore eco-sexuality, eco-sensuality, the erotica in natures forms and how we respond if we allow ourselves to—a topic close to Micheals heart, on which they have lectured extensively and focused their academic dissertation on. Micheal talks about their involvement with performance activist Annie Sprinkle and her partner Beth Stephans, and their take on nature as Mother and lover, as a way of calling back respect and care for our environment in their Love Art Laboratory. The Love Art Laboratory's Green Wedding chart referenced is set for May 17, 2008. 3pm. Santa Cruz. We dive into eco-feminism, a topic I'm particularly fascinated with, ‘queerness, the parts of ourselves that exceed systems of categorisation, domination, and control', then move through Taurus in Uranus, post humanism and trans-humanism and why its adherents are chasing a delusion. Michael's impressive background as a Dr. of Dance with a PhD in Dance Studies, BFA in Dance, traditional astrologer, yoga instructor, writer, educator, facilitator, tarot reader, and witch, makes them a well-rounded and fascinating guest. They bring a depth of knowledge and sensitivity to our conversation that will leave you informed and inspired to go out and smell the roses. Join us for this thought-provoking conversation with founder Beth Stephens to learn more about ecosexuality for EARTH DAY. Ecosexuality is a person that finds nature romantic, sensual and sexy. It is a new sexual identity, much like you might think of pansexual as a newer sexual identity. An ecosexual is a person who imagines the earth as their lover, and it's a term used in dating that describes a person interested in environmentalism. For Beth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle, they have used this term ecosexuality within performance art to blur the boundaries between life and art. Their great love and relationship is something we discuss in this podcast and talking about a new way to queer the environmental movement. I hope you enjoy. Beth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle founded the ecosexual art movement from their weddings to each other and the earth starting in 2008. Since, then they have written a book, Assuming the Ecosexual Position (University of Minnesota, 2022), and produced two films about their work, Goodbye Gauly Mountain and Water Makes Us Wet, with one on the way, Playing With Fire. BIO Elizabeth M. Stephens is a filmmaker, artist, and professor in the Art Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Stephens grew up in the heart of rural West Virginia's coalfields where she forged deep bonds with the Appalachian Mountains, as well as with miners, labor activists, environmentalists, and other mountaineers. Stephens earned a PhD in Performance Studies from UC Davis in 2015, systemic settler colonial practices, racism and poverty are deeply intertwined with environmental justice. She developed and gained administrative approval for a new MFA in Environmental Art and Social Practice. Her first film was Goodbye Gauley Mountain with Annie Sprinkle. The second was Water Makes Us Wet. Stephens and Sprinkle have screened at Documenta 14 in Kassel, Germany and then went on to screen at MoMA, the British Film Institute and the Berlin Festspiele. In 2021 Stephens was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship with Annie Sprinkle for their new film, Playing with Fire. Their book is Assuming the Ecosexual Position: The Earth as Lover published by the University of Minnesota Press (2022). Do you want more than to get married and have babies with a ‘Holler Adonis'? Professor & co-founder of the Ecosexual Movement Beth Stephens receives a mid-doggie teenage marriage proposal in a river in West Virginia, and instantly knows she needs to run. From a big city art school to discovering lesbian sex and drugs to a 3-day sex-a-thon (cum couples therapy session) with her wife Annie Sprinkle, Beth's love affair with nature never waivers, it only grows - and the Earth has the final word. #OriginStory #Appalachia #Hillbilly #Feminist #Leather #PunkRockDyke #ClimateChange #Queer #LoveYourMother   Song: 'Treefucker' (Jefferson Bergey)   About our Storyteller:   ❤ A Founder of the Ecosex movement, Beth Stephens (in Artistic collaboration with her wife, Annie Sprinkle) believes that Saving the Planet is Sexy. Beth has spent many years creating art around her passion for the environment and In 2008, Beth and Annie began marrying the Earth in performance art weddings which set them on the path to explore the realm of ecosexuality, taking the Earth as their lover and making their mutual pleasure an embodied expression of passion for the Earth. Ever since, they have been not just pushing but obliterating the boundaries circumscribing biology and ecology, creating ecosexual art in their performances of an environmentalism that is feminist, queer, sensual, sexual, post-human, materialist, and steeped in humor. Beth and Annie have a nearly 20-year collaboration in producing EcoSexual performances, exhibitions, events and theory, and they travel the planet performing, lecturing, holding walking tours, offering free sidewalk sex clinics, mounting visual art exhibitions, writing books, and premiering their films. Warning: Explicit Conversations About Politics, Culture, & Sexuality It's the birth of a new year, but also the death of a good friend, Capt'n Max's former partner in revolutionary publishing, radio, art and adventure, Willem de Ridder. Willem just passed away (we hear from Covid), so we say farewell to this great artist, storyteller, publisher, radio and TV producer, FLUXUS art movement leader, and founder of SUCK, the first European erotic magazine, featuring luminaries such as Germaine Greer, a copy of which found its way around the world and into the hands of another young publisher named Maximillian R. Lobkowicz, aka Mickey Leblovic.  When Willem met Mickey, the two began a great friendship and collaboration, publishing some of the most innovative sex magazines, Love, Hate, Finger, God, Annie Sprinkle's Hot Sh*t, The Sprinkle Report, The Ladies Room, the LA Star and more. On this show, we talk about their life and work together, the history of underground publishing in LA, as well as their “pirate” radio shows in Italy and work with many great artists and adult stars like Annie Sprinkle who was Willem's lover for a time. Together, they traveled through Europe and America, making art, getting busted (22 times!) and publishing “reader-written” magazines that changed the world.  Yes, changed the world. Now, with social media, 90% of what most of us read is “reader-written,” but back in the Swinging ‘70s, it was unusual if not blasphemous to publish the prose, photos and art of readers—not professionals—with virtually no editing or judgment. An amazing, if unheralded accomplishment for our Max and the late great #WillemDeRidder.  Though most of this show is one wild De Ridder story after another, we manage to squeeze in shoutouts to our beloved SUZY award winners; Louisiana demanding ID to view erotica; Prince Harry getting spanked by a cougar; Julian Assange, still tragically imprisoned for practicing journalism;  Ron Jeremy declared “incompetent” to stand trial due to dementia; and to the MAGAts in Congress creating the political chaos they are paid by their oligarchical sponsors to create. #GoBonobos in 2023! Warning: Explicit Conversations About Politics, Culture, & Sexuality Ken Starr passed away last week, so I'm re-releasing this comic, erotic and very historic, turn-of-the-21st century Dr. Susan Block Show throwback, taking you onstage at the World Pornography Conference where I presented the 1998 Boobie Award for “Best National Pornography Production” to Kenneth W. Starr, the notorious neo-Puritanical Independent Counsel who spearheaded a ruthless witch hunt, power grab and smear campaign against then-President Bill Clinton, climaxing with the release of The Starr Report—like a hot money shot that lands in your eye or perhaps up your nose. “Never has a piece of common porn so captured the hearts, minds and gonads of so many Americans, even those of us who really don't care who swallows the presidential semen.” I proclaimed to my audience of professors, porn stars, lawyers and reporters hosted by Annie Sprinkle and Candida Royalle. “Never has the mainstream American media proven itself to be such a fantastic public relations machine for a single porn production, broadcasting every rumor and innuendo in this sperm-swirling storm of gossip, intrigue and sanctimonious outrage.” If you lived through it, you know how it dominated the news, and #KenStarr was the instigator, chief voyeur and Grand Inquisitor.  I also take you into my broadcast bed for an intimate after-party at the Villa Piacere where Capt'n Max and I explore the juicy details of the #StarrReport with such luminaries as Dr. Betty Dodson, Richard Pacheco, Kat Sunlove, Jack Hafferkamp, LaSara, KISS and Tod Hunter. Also at the Pornucopia: Dr. Vern Bullough, Dr. Carol Queen, Al Goldstein, Roy Karch and Veronica Vera. This special episode captures a truly historic moment, including footage from the day a coerced and terrorized Monica Lewinsky testified before a Grand Jury, and reactions to the Starr Report and Boobie Award, including live interviews with KTLA5 and KNBC4. At a time when most Americans were becoming more open, tolerant and sex-positive, Ken Starr and his team of reactionary young ninjas (including a fledgling Brett Kavanaugh and Ann Coulter) didn't succeed in their intended coup d'état (or as Joe Conason called it, "Coup de Twat"), but they did turn the clock back on sexual freedom, and now we have QAnon and a powerful majority on the Supreme Court (including Kavanaugh!) literally forcing their extreme #NeoPuritanical ways on the rest of us.  This video first aired uncensored in 1998 on public access TV stations around America.  Of course, this version is censored for Youtube (we don't want our account shut down). It was a special treat to have Rebel Rhyder with us because she was all the way over in Prague working on a project and took time from that to be with us on Jizz Talking for our 6/5/2022 show! We had a fun time talking about her experiences at Exxxotica in Chicago and filming with the Tadpole crew in the booth that was next to ours. She has a LOT of energy and she is just so hot that she will have a nice career in the industry! Helping us out was Sean Elliot and Richard Pacheco who talked about how it used to be, BUT, used Rebel as an example in several of their stories. Our friend Charles updated us on his latest adventures of going to the re-showing of Kamikazie Hearts that featured Sharon Mitchell and Annie Sprinkle at the showing in San Francisco. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jizztalking/support

"In addition to mainstream porn, I was exposed to images of some of the scions of feminist pornography including Annie Sprinkle and Nina Hartley. I watched Nina Hartley's films and felt admiration for her clear and frank way of talking about sex. I loved that she was completely present and aware of herself and her presentation. The films Nina, Annie, and others made represented a sexuality that was open, honest, and without shame; they showcased sex that was fun and consensual. They had a sexual agency that I found arousing. It was the first time that I saw sex that resonated with me and that I wanted to emulate. Even with these films though, I still had issues with the bodies: the differences between theirs and mine. I couldn't relate to the curvaceous body type of Nina Hartley or Annie Sprinkle. At 5'10" and 145 pounds, I have been athletic and sinewy for most of my adult life. My breasts are small A cups, and my look is often more androgynous than girly. Like many women, I experienced the simultaneous intrigue and revulsion that can accompany pornographic film watching [3]: of being simultaneously captivated and repulsed by the performers as they embody stereotypical female "beauty" and "perfection." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support

Lyz Parayzo, a Brazilian-born artist currently studying in the Beaux-Arts de Paris talks about her art, inspired by her personal experiences, and which focuses on the body, gender identity, and fluidity. Lyz Parayzo, a Brazilian artist who works sculptures, live performances and audiovisual pieces, is with us on the show recorded from the gallery Espace L in Geneva, where there's an exhibition called “PornoChic”. It was inspired by one of the tale of the book of the “Erotic Tales” by the Brazilian writer Hilda Hilst. In this episode, we talk about the feminine performative, gender, its fluidity and its place in the art world that sometimes remains conservative. Through her work, like sharply cut sculptures representing ‘jewelry as self defense', she aims to create the aforementioned debate, raising questions on desire and violence and its relation to the feminine performative. She shares how her personal experiences have heavily influenced her art, along with external inspiration through writers, artists and thinkers such as Lygia Clark, Hilda Hilst, Hudinilson Junior, Kubra Khademi, Paul Preciado and Annie Sprinkle. Her work is provocative, and affronting to some. Some of it has once been censored. But her art, as her body - which she draws from for her creations - takes a political stance, as the LGBT community still suffers from hate crimes, phobia and rejection. Conversation Highlights: Lyz' “Guerilla Plans”: claiming art spaces for her art Her series: “Bellic Prosthesis”, sculptures of ‘jewelries for self-defense' Desire and violence, gender and identity To learn more about Lyz and this episode, visit our website rawradical.com This podcast is supported by Pro Helvetia The swiss arts council, The Republic and Canton of Geneva, and the City of Lancy in Switzerland. So what is inspiration? Can inspiration go both ways? The right inspiration for the right time - could change your life forever! And so it did - when Leona & Tommy first met Annie Sprinkle on the "Her story of porn" event she did in Oslo, Norway 2003. We had to fight ourselves past angry anti porn activists and a show promoter who was believing we were part of the ANTI porn resistance! We were there to learn, and we did. This show helped us a lot - to create the early ideas about fuck for forest, eco porn AND EcoSexuality. Since then, somehow inspired by FFF - Annie started her own Eco Sexual movement together with her beautiful partner Beth Stephens - who is a doctor in art, and also a activist and artist. Annie is a doctor in human sexuality and also a performance artist and activist. So what is Eco Sexuality? And why did fuck for forest never get to be a real part of this growing movement? To childish, dirty and uncommercial driven? Or just stupid young people - who did not know how to get better organized and connect to their real family? So many questions - and some will get answered, when we finally get Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens in our Bipolar circle studio - to talk about Eco Sexuality. performance art and life in general. In Part Two of our conversation with Pavini Moray, we continue to trace the river of eros, sensation, and spirit that flows through our ancestral lineages and portals of the everyday. Turning inwards, we ask what must be animated within the self to show up for the places and beings we love? Beyond this, what intuitive sensibilities and knowledges yearn to be reawakened in order to receive? At the heart of this episode’s inquiry into relationship and reciprocity lie emergent lessons for resilience, healing, and strength in this time of earthly crisis and collapse. Dr. Pavini Moray (pronoun: Pe) is a somatic sex therapist and ancestral lineage healing practitioner in private practice in San Francisco. Pavini works with individuals and couples who wish to resolve the past, inhabit their bodies and their pleasure and speak their desires. Pavini is also the founder of Wellcelium, an online sexuality and intimacy school committed to personal and planetary liberation. Pavini hosts a podcast called “Bespoken Bones: Ancestors at the crossroads of sex, magick, and science.” The podcast is released every new and full moon and addresses topics of transgenerational trauma, erotic wellness, and ancestral support. As a queer trans witch, Pavini walks the glitter path of dancing bones, ridiculous delight and old magick. Listen in to Part Two of this intimate conversation as Ayana and Pavini share their reflections on the forest as a teacher of wild love, the field of eros within and beyond the realm of sex, the cyclical nature of death as communion, and strategies for connecting with ancestors of blood and heart. We hope these timely and timeless words activate listeners to journey into the depths of our capacity to care for one another and our beyond-human kin. ♫ Music by Itasca + TAKE ACTION & LEARN MORE + To learn more about Pavini’s work and personal practice visit: https://www.pavinimoray.com, https://www.transcestralhealing.com, https://www.emancipating-sexuality.com, and https://www.wellcelium.org. Then Pitney brings up the insane and splattery idea of enema-themed performance art, which reminds Amelia of the time Annie Sprinkle toured the country inviting audiences to view her cervix. You already know Pitney's dad is a creep. But now you get to hear an especially creepy story about him. It's so gross, you guys. You'll never think of cheesecake the same way again. You know what else is gross? Sharing porn with your friends. Don't do that. Eww. (Oh, and that song we were talking about? You really need to hear it. Pop You in the Pooper by Jeff Stryker) Boy oh boy, a lot of women really REALLY loved Fabio back in the day. We fantasize about a cruise ship filled with Fabio fans. And do you remember the Topaz Man? Amelia does! Pitney loves Paris Hilton's album. A lot. In this first episode we meet Michael J Morris, who was visiting Australia for the PSI conference. This wide-ranging discussion took place in a corridor at Melbourne University where we discussed ecosexuality, dance research, gender and all in between. Morris’ dance practices and interests are broad from Butoh to Burlesque, often concerned with destabilising normative gender and sexuality categories. Their experience in dance reveals there are multiple pathways to making a career in dance. As Morris explained “there are people who are fed from the experience on stage and others find it draining.” Morris’ PhD explored ecosexuality based partially on interviews with activists/artists Elizabeth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle. Morris is currently an Associate Professor of Dance at Denison University, where they teach Queer, Women’s and Gender Studies. Morris has an amazing blog full of musings and writing, which you should check out; you can also follow them on twitter If you have enjoyed this discussion share it with a friend. Stay tuned for another stimulating episode. We will be hitting the web in two weeks time as we continue to explore the world of dance, with interviews from Deborah Jowett, Gideon Obarzanek, Stephanie Lake, Rafael Bonachela and many more. “Even our most mundane sexual practices have an ecological impact”
