2/5/26 - Election Integrity: Why Voter ID Matters to Americans

    Mark Levin Podcast

On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, WREC's Ben Ferguson fills in for Mark. Sen Chuck Schumer has labeled the SAVE Act—a bill requiring ID and proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections—as "Jim Crow 2.0," claiming it suppresses voters. This is racist – Schumer is implying that Black and Hispanic Americans cannot reasonably be expected to have or obtain an ID in 2026. Democrats support requiring ID for universal background checks when purchasing firearms but oppose it for voting. The only reason anyone would opposes voter ID is to exploit the system and cheat. The majority of Americans support voter ID. Later, President Trump realized that prescription drug prices have gotten too high. So, he launched Trump RX to lower these prices. This will save Americans billions of dollars. Also, Americans should closely follow the proposed merger between Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery, as it extends far beyond a corporate deal to impact American jobs, media control, and national security.  Culture, storytelling, and media serve as key weapons in the global battle of ideas, where foreign adversaries—particularly China—exploit weakened U.S. companies to spread authoritarian influence and propaganda. The merger would strengthen an American entity, preserve hundreds of thousands of middle-class jobs across multiple states, enable major U.S. investments like Netflix's new studio project, and help domestic streaming compete against Big Tech and state-backed foreign players.  Approval of the merger can bolster U.S. cultural leadership and protect against foreign dominance in the information war, aligning with Ronald Reagan's belief in safeguarding freedom through strong American influence. Renting vs. buying a house. Everyone has the debate completely wrong, and it's costing Americans their financial freedom. “Live in Los Angeles? Guess you have to rent. Live in the Midwest? Guess you should buy.” What if there was a way to grow your wealth no matter where you live, how much home prices are, or what's going on in the housing market? What if you could get richer while renting? What if your simple, affordable house could propel you toward financial freedom? What if you could make hundreds of thousands of dollars, tax-free, by buying the home everyone overlooks? Today, we're showing you how to do all of them. We'll give you three scenarios to buy, rent, or do a combination of both, and get wealthier in the process. Plus, Dave shares his “cheat code” investment strategy that gets him cheaper homes that he'll love living in and makes him substantially wealthier in the process. It's not buy vs. rent. It's about building your wealth no matter your choice.  In This Episode We Cover Renting vs. buying a house: The (not so obvious) answer nobody is talking about How to turn your home into future cash flow and what to look at before you buy The overlooked strategy Dave is using to make hundreds of thousands on his primary residence  Live in an expensive city? This is how to rent and invest, so you always grow your wealth  How just one house hack property can allow you to buy your dream home (Henry's strategy) And So Much More! “Terrorist”: How ICE Weaponized 9/11's Scarlet Letter

    Intercepted with Jeremy Scahill

The word “terrorist” wasn't coined on September 11, 2001, but the defining event of the early 21st century ushered it in as the United States' go-to term for demonizing outsiders and dissenters alike. The so-called “war on terror” transformed the way the U.S. wields power at home and abroad, enabling mass surveillance and a crackdown on the right to free speech. It became reflexive for the U.S. to disparage immigrants and protesters as supporters of terrorism.President Donald Trump has embraced this model and manipulated it for his own ends, as author Spencer Ackerman points out. The Trump administration often peddles spurious accusations of terrorism against the targets of its immigration raids.“There's nothing about any of their action that's remotely anything at all like terrorism,” Ackerman says. “But that is the fire in which ICE, CBP, and the Department of Homeland Security was forged. You are going to find this in its DNA.”This week on the Intercept Briefing, host Jordan Uhl speaks with Ackerman, a leading expert on the concept of terrorism and its weaponization by the state. Ackerman's 2021 book, “Reign of Terror, How the 9/11 Era Destabilized America and Produced Trump,” traces the legal and cultural evolution of the last 25 years, and how the boomerang has come back home.“Before 9/11, not only was there no ICE, there wasn't really much in the way of a robust internal mechanism for finding and deporting people who were in the country illegally. When it did exist, it was for people who were serious criminals, traffickers, and so on,” says Ackerman. Now, he says, the contemporary terrorism paradigm has transformed immigration enforcement into something “operating like a death squad.”“What we are seeing on the streets of Minneapolis is what ICE has done to the undocumented for a very long time,” he says. “And now we're seeing this happen to white people on the streets of Minneapolis for little more than filming ICE.” With the recent killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, “I worry that a tremendous amount of our political system is geared toward either, on the Republican side, rationalizing it, justifying it, or on the Democratic side, pretending as if this is some kind of abuse that can be exceptionalized, rather than something that has to do with this 25-year history of coalescing immigration enforcement in the context of counterterrorism.”As Democrats in Congress struggle to leverage DHS funding for changes to ICE policy — like a ban on face masks for ICE agents, an idea on which they've already softened — Ackerman says the parallels with the early 2000s are clear.“We can't move in reformist directions when the thing talked about being reformed laughs at killing Americans,” advises Ackerman. “Reformist politics under two Democratic administrations got us to where we are now. These are accommodationist politics, and the thing being accommodated wants to kill you.”Listen to the full conversation of The Intercept Briefing on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. We all recall when Dan Bongino, after joining the FBI, reversed his past stance on the Epstein case, declaring that Epstein had killed himself, case closed. Now critics are pointing out to Bongino that he used to sell accountability rhetoric and then retreated into institutional secrecy once given power. And he's not happy about it! In a striking video, Bongino makes repeated claims about being entrusted with "custody of information," which Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger label as the kind of deep-state language typically used to justify withholding truth from the public while demanding trust.  The two argue that Bongino's emotional outbursts, attacks on critics like Dave Smith, and appeals to classified briefings expose hypocrisy and a lack of self-awareness. Ultimately, the piece portrays Bongino as another figure who promised justice, protected the system instead, and now lashes out at voters for asking the very questions he once encouraged. Plus segments on Trump's jaw-dropping response to the latest Epstein files release, Joe Rogan's surprising appearance in the files, evidence suggesting that Jeffrey Epstein was removed from prison the night before he allegedly committed suicide and Thomas Massie's description of how the public will know if the Epstein files' release had the proper effect. Jackson for a long-form conversation about Martin Luther King Jr. and why his legacy still provokes such strong emotional and political reactions. Chad is an independent filmmaker and researcher whose work returns to primary sources and overlooked voices, and that lens shapes everything we talk about here.He recently participated in an MLK debate that ran for hours, creating space for historical context instead of sound bites and patience instead of performative rebuttals. That debate opens the door into a much larger conversation about history, memory, and how certain narratives become culturally untouchable. We dig into how the Civil Rights Movement is taught, celebrated, and reinforced from an early age, often without room for deeper examination. Chad draws from archival research, period publications, and primary documents, showing how interpretation influences public memory just as much as the facts themselves. This episode is for listeners who value critical thinking and aren't afraid to sit with uncomfortable questions. You'll Learn:[00:00] Introduction[08:52] What triggered Chad to investigate the MLK narrative[17:13] Challenging northern propaganda about slavery[27:40]  Life for black Americans prior to the Civil Rights Movement[44:45] King's upbringing: born into wealthy black elite family, Daddy King's social gospel, and rejecting Christ's divinity by age 12[01:03:13] Why both the FBI and communists wanted the civil rights movement [01:09:38] The aftermath of the Civil Rights Movement [01:17:03] The MLK docuseries structure[01:34:42] The century-long project to separate blacks from Western civilization[01:49:41] Why classism is just another victimization trap[02:08:55] How hip hop culture has negatively impacted the black community[02:22:40] Malcom X and the Civil Rights Movement[02:42:02] The notion that fascism is a reaction to hyper liberalismResources Mentioned:Hatred and Profits: Getting Under the Hood of the Ku Klux Klan by Fryer G. Paul is joined by the venerable Chuck Todd—host of the Chuck Toddcast and former moderator of NBC's Meet the Press and more— for a raw, candid, often funny kitchen-table conversation America needs right now that takes you behind the curtain on media, news and politics. They break down ICE agents leaving “death cards” with white supremacist history, detaining citizens, and now, local cops; Jeff Bezos's gutting of the Washington Post and layoffs hitting reporters in war zones; and how billionaire power—from Bezos and Musk to Trump—is hollowing out the Fourth Estate and putting our democracy, national security, and truth itself up for sale. They also unpack the TV show Fallout's dystopian world of bunkered elites and abandoned wastelands, and what it reveals about America's rapidly-growing anti-corporate mood cutting across all political lines.  Together, Paul and Chuck go hard at the rise of independent voters and candidates, the promise of open primaries and mayors, and the pivotal role veterans and independent leaders will play in the next political realignment. They talk Jesse Ventura, Ross Perot, Bill McRaven, The Rock, Mark Cuban, Matthew McConaughey, Dan Osborne, Todd Achilles, and the real possibility that a celebrity or billionaire like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos could hijack—or turbocharge—the independent movement. William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, has been a central player in the US Jewish communities' responses to October 7 and the subsequent two years of war. He lays out his explanation for the spike in antisemitism in the US, and argues that with domestic focus on ICE, Israel has an opening to restart reconnecting with Democrats and young Americans. He recounts his conversations with the Biden Administration at the start of the war, and explains why the relationship with Netanyahu became so strained. Turning to the White House, Daroff offers insights into Trump's relationships with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatar. He argues that one should take Trump's threats seriously, both against Hamas if they don't disarm and Iran if they don't concede to US demands. Lazar Focus can be found on all podcast platforms. Ep. 224: Why Farmers Are Fed Up- John Deere, Celebrity Elites, and the Real Cost of Survival

    Talk Dirt to Me

In this episode of Talk Dirt To Me, we discuss one of the things, for better or worse, that separates us from a lot of the voices in ag influence. We are willing to say things out loud that may not always be popular or sponsor-friendly. We dive into frustrations many farmers have with John Deere, including right to repair and the growing disconnect between corporate ag and life on the farm. We also talk about Bobby Lee's highly applauded comment on one of Deere's Instagram posts, a moment that probably did not help our chances of landing a sponsorship but struck a nerve with farmers across the country. From there, we shift to celebrity virtue signaling and why it rings hollow for working Americans. Billie Eilish and other celebrities come up as examples as we discuss how disconnected elite celebrity culture has become from real life, rural America, and economic pressure. We then get into the numbers farmers are actually facing. With the USDA projecting farm income to drop again in 2026, we break down what that means on the ground, why farmers are becoming more reliant on government payments just to survive, and why understanding true equipment cost per acre is no longer optional. We also challenge the long-held idea that running equipment too long is always a bad decision, and why in today's high-interest, high-depreciation environment, holding onto iron longer may actually be the smarter move. We wrap the episode with our Made in USA highlight featuring Dobbins Lures, a North Carolina-based company producing American-made animal lures for trappers who still value craftsmanship, effectiveness, and products built by people who understand the outdoors. *Go Vote for us on the Tipton County Farm Bureau Women in Ag's poll: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfHbLDGeM06rLZG42WW_ps2CrgS0ktjILFeP3bSaQFdQOeQFQ/viewform Go check out Agzaga! It is the ultimate online farm store. It's Friday, February 6th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 21 of 22 churches destroyed in Christian town in Myanmar since coup On January 30, the Burma Research Institute released a scathing report detailing destructive attacks, murders, and harassment of Christians and churches since the military coup in 2021 that forcefully took control of Myanmar, reports International Christian Concern. Some of the key findings include: 21 out of 22 churches in Thantlang Town, a majority-Christian town, have been destroyed and the town's population displaced since 2021. More than 340 churches and Christian buildings have been destroyed. 149 Christians murdered and 218 imprisoned from 2022 to 2025. One unnamed church leader, who is still living inside Myanmar, testified powerfully that the faithful are now scattered across jungles, remote areas, and informal shelters, struggling to preserve their faith and communal life under constant threat and insecurity. Pastor in India forced to eat cow dung After accusing a pastor in Odisha, India of forcefully converting Hindus to Christianity, a group of Hindu nationalists forced him to eat cow dung and drink sewer water, reports International Christian Concern. The incident occurred on January 4th, but only became widely known in recent days, prompting nationwide outrage and criticism. A mob of 40 people, reportedly affiliated with the Bajrang Dal — the militant wing of the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh — stormed a home during a prayer meeting in Parjang village, and accused the pastor of conducting “forced religious conversions.” Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik was dragged from the house and beaten with sticks. His face was smeared with red vermilion. Sandals were hung around his neck. He was then paraded through the village for nearly two hours. Pastor Naik was eventually taken to a local Hindu temple, where his hands were tied to a metal rod, and he was forced to consume cow dung and drink water from a sewer. They also tried to force the pastor to chant Hindu slogans, but he refused to do so. In a statement on X, Pinarayi Vijayan, the chief minister of Kerala, wrote, “Forcing a human being to eat cow dung is a deeply inhuman act, emboldened by the silence and complicity of BJP-led governments.” Landslide in Congo kills 200 miners A landslide last week collapsed several tunnels at a major coltan mine in eastern Congo, leaving at least 200 people dead in the rebel-controlled site, reports the Associated Press. The collapse occurred  Wednesday at the Rubaya mines, controlled by the Rwanda-backed M23 rebels, after heavy rains caused several hand-dug tunnels in the unregulated mine to cave. The M23 rebels and the Congolese government traded accusations over responsibility as reports from the remote region began to emerge. The collapse is one of the deadliest disasters in years in an area already facing a humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict. Trump announced prayer gathering to rededicate America to God Appearing at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Donald Trump explained that the Department of Education will protect the right of public school students to pray. TRUMP: “Today, I'm also pleased to announce that the Department of Education is officially issuing its new guidance to protect the right to prayer in our public schools. That's a big deal.” (applause) President Trump also announced that Americans are invited to attend a special prayer event on the 250th birthday of America in our nation's capital. TRUMP: “In the last 12 months, young Americans attended church at nearly twice the rate as they did four years ago to support this exciting renewal. This morning, I'm pleased to announce that on May 17, we're inviting Americans from all across the country to come together on our National Mall to pray. We're going to rededicate America as one nation under God.” (applause) Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.” NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie addresses kidnappers of her mother In a tearful video posted Wednesday on Instagram, “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie — flanked by her sister, Annie Guthrie, and her brother, Camron Guthrie, pleaded for more information from the possible kidnapper of her 84-year-old mother, saying her family is “ready to talk,” reports NBC News. GUTHRIE: “Our mom is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you. And we are ready to listen.” In the Instagram video, Savannah thanked the public for “the prayers for our beloved mom,” Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen Saturday night in her home outside Tucson, Arizona. She was reported missing after she did not show up for church.  Nancy had no cognitive issues, and her disappearance was not linked to dementia. Blood was found on the front porch of Guthrie's house. DNA analysis has confirmed the blood belongs to Nancy Guthrie. A doorbell camera to her home was disconnected and removed at 1:47 local time and at 2:28, Guthrie's pacemaker was disconnected from her phone, an app shows. Fox10 TV reports that investigators are taking seriously a ransom note sent to a handful of media outlets connected to her disappearance. Heith Janke, the FBI chief in Phoenix, announced that they have arrested Derrick Callella in Hawthorne, California. Shocking lessons taught on college campuses today And finally, according to Students for Life's January newsletter, college students are being taught shocking lessons – often paid for by our tax dollars. * Harvard University has a class called, "Come hammered. Get Nailed: Safe Sex Under the Influence.” * Ohio State University features a class entitled, "Fighting Abortion Stigma with Planned Parenthood." * And Grand Valley State University has one called “Breaking Up with Purity Culture.” If that's not enough, they'll be encouraged to write Valentine's Day “thank you” cards to abortionists! The truth is many colleges have turned into little more than recruitment centers for Planned Parenthood's bloody business by first encouraging students to experiment sexually and then funneling vulnerable young women to abortionists to “take care of” or murder the natural consequences of sex – precious little babies. Campus missionaries with Students for Life are confronting the Culture of Death with three outreaches. First, setting up Cemetery of Innocents displays that visually expose the gruesome reality of abortion featuring 1,102 bright pink crosses commemorating the preborn babies aborted by Planned Parenthood every day. Second, hosting table events that spark one-on-one conversations with pro-abortion college students. And third, screening the pro-life movie Unplanned which tells the incredible conversion story of Abby Johnson, who was a Planned Parenthood director-turned-staunch-pro-life-activist, after she witnessed a preborn child squirming for its life away from an abortionist's tools during an abortion. Mathias was a Deadline Awards finalist for feature writing. He lives in New York and goes by @LetsGoMathias on BlueSky and X. A searing, provocative investigation into the rise of white nationalist and neo-Nazi movements in the United States, centered on the anti-fascist groups working to expose and stop these hateful factions. Demonized as "extremist" by conservatives and liberals alike, "antifa" became a bogeyman during Donald Trump's first term. But few Americans understood the dangerous work antifa was doing to disrupt and unmask a new generation of white supremacists or listened when antifa sounded the alarm about these white supremacists taking positions of power. Now this underground network of militant anti-fascists is determined to stop the rising tide of fascism in America. No matter the cost. In the tradition of in-the-room investigative classics such as The Smartest Guys in the Room and Bad Blood, To Catch a Fascist follows different factions of antifascists as they work to unmask hateful extremists before they commit devastating acts of violence. With searing detail and exclusive reporting, To Catch a Fascist paints a vivid picture of the stakes in this ongoing, often unseen war between opposite ends of the political spectrum, highlighting the scrappy resourcefulness and resilience of anti-fascist movements against their increasingly violent adversaries. Utilizing razor-sharp storytelling and eye-opening insight, this timely and necessary book reveals the human cost, moral dilemmas, and unwavering determination involved in fighting white supremacy. The Chicago Council on Global Affairs has been tracking American views on foreign policy since the end of the Vietnam War. Last week, it released its 2025 survey—and the results point to a widening partisan divide on some of the most fundamental questions about America's role in the world. That was not always the case. For most of the past 50 years, Democrats, Republicans, and independents largely agreed on the proper role of the United States in the world. There were always differences, of course, but they tended to exist at the margins. On big-picture questions—such as alliances and working cooperatively with other countries—there was broad consensus. That consensus began to shift in 2015 with Donald Trump's entry into the American political scene. Now, ten years later, this latest survey shows partisan divides that are deeper than ever. America's domestic polarization has finally caught up with its foreign policy. To discuss these survey results, I'm joined by Jordan Tama, a professor at American University in Washington, DC, who specializes in the intersection of American public opinion and foreign policy. We begin by discussing the historical sources of bipartisan foreign policy consensus, before turning to a longer conversation about how and why that consensus has fractured—and what this shift suggests about the future of American foreign policy. As Fox News featured footage of jackbooted masked federal agents terrorizing a Northern Midwestern city the network told its viewers to ignore any reports that showed Americans were unhappy with Trump's mass deportation efforts. The soccer moms and angel faced five-year-olds fleeing clouds of tear gas in quaint tree-lined residential streets were covert socialist sleeper cells financed by the Chinese communist party and radical Islamists determined to overthrow the U.S. government. The true victims of the chaos in Minnesota were the valiant members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents. They were brave men and women who had to cover their faces to avoid being doxed by crazed capitalist hating agitators.Things got truly surreal as several Fox News hosts showcased the mugshots of various undocumented immigrants convicted of heinous crimes while they downplayed the latest release of documents related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The Epstein files revealed close personal relationships with several high-ranking officials in the Trump administration as well as the president himself. When the network wasn't promoting outlandish conspiracy theories about nonexistent socialist uprisings and downplaying Trump's once close relationship to a sadistic sexual predator it was heavily promoting the First Lady's insipid documentary and making light of Trump's plan to openly rob the U.S. treasury of $10 billion. It was an especially crazy week at Fox.Meanwhile Fox News polling came out with terrible numbers for Trump across several categories which Fox News personalities mostly ignored. The network also failed to tell its viewers about layoffs at Amazon and UPS or of a huge spike in the trade deficit. This is a public episode. Drawing from current nutrition science and academic discussion at the University of Utah, they explore both the strengths of the update and the practical challenges of applying it. Key takeaways for climbers and athletes include prioritizing adequate protein, limiting ultra-processed foods, choosing whole-food carbohydrate sources, and matching carbohydrate intake to activity level. The episode concludes by emphasizing individualized nutrition, performance context, and consistency over perfection. Jonathan also provides some breakfast and dinner tips for climbers looking to optimize energy availability, performance, and recovery. Full Text of Readings The Saint of the day is Saint Paul Miki and Companions Saint Paul Miki and Companions' Story Nagasaki, Japan, is familiar to Americans as the city on which the second atomic bomb was dropped, immediately killing over 37,000 people. Three and a half centuries before, 26 martyrs of Japan were crucified on a hill, now known as the Holy Mountain, overlooking Nagasaki. Among them were priests, brothers, and laymen, Franciscans, Jesuits, and members of the Secular Franciscan Order; there were catechists, doctors, simple artisans, and servants, old men and innocent children—all united in a common faith and love for Jesus and his Church. Brother Paul Miki, a Jesuit and a native of Japan, has become the best known among the martyrs of Japan. While hanging upon a cross, Paul Miki preached to the people gathered for the execution: “The sentence of judgment says these men came to Japan from the Philippines, but I did not come from any other country. I am a true Japanese. The only reason for my being killed is that I have taught the doctrine of Christ. I certainly did teach the doctrine of Christ. I thank God it is for this reason I die. I believe that I am telling only the truth before I die. I know you believe me and I want to say to you all once again: Ask Christ to help you to become happy. I obey Christ. After Christ's example I forgive my persecutors. I do not hate them. I ask God to have pity on all, and I hope my blood will fall on my fellow men as a fruitful rain.” When missionaries returned to Japan in the 1860s, at first they found no trace of Christianity. But after establishing themselves they found that thousands of Christians lived around Nagasaki and that they had secretly preserved the faith. Beatified in 1627, the martyrs of Japan were finally canonized in 1862. Reflection Today, a new era has come for the Church in Japan. Although the number of Catholics is not large, the Church is respected and has total religious freedom. The spread of Christianity in the Far East is slow and difficult. Faith such as that of the 26 martyrs is needed today as much as in 1597.Saint of the Day, Copyright Franciscan Media

Broadcast from KSQD, Santa Cruz on 3-05-2026: >ul> Dr. Dawn presents a whimsical "theme park tour" of the upper gastrointestinal tract, from saliva production triggered by sight and smell of food, through the esophageal sphincter's iris-like opening, into the stomach's pH-1 acid bath where parietal cells produce 3,000 mg of hydrochloric acid per meal. She explains protective mechanisms including the bicarbonate layer beneath stomach mucus, H. pylori's role in ulcers, and how H2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors work—cautioning about long-term PPI effects on B12 and calcium absorption. The tour continues through the pylorus into the duodenum where pancreatic enzymes and bile converge, then along the 23-foot small intestine with its tennis-court surface area of villi absorbing nutrients, iron in the duodenum, most nutrients in the jejunum, and B12 requiring intrinsic factor in the ileum. Dr. Dawn explains why pancreatic cancer—projected to become the second leading cause of cancer death by 2030—is so deadly, using a medieval castle metaphor. The tumor microenvironment acts as an impenetrable moat of desmoplastic stroma made of fibroblasts, collagen, and hyaluronic acid that blocks drugs and immune cells. Over 90% of cases have K-RAS mutations acting as growth accelerators that also thicken this protective barrier and increase CD47 "don't eat me" signals. She discusses emerging treatments including K-RAS inhibitors, PARP inhibitors for BRCA mutations, and combination immunotherapies showing 67% response rates, while noting that CAR T-cell therapy and checkpoint inhibitors alone fail because they cannot penetrate the stroma. Dr. Dawn summarizes Duke researcher Herman Ponzer's work using doubly-labeled water to measure total energy expenditure, revealing that humans burn 20-60% more calories than other great apes when adjusted for body mass. His surprising finding: Hadza hunter-gatherers walking 8-14 kilometers daily burn the same calories as sedentary Americans—the body compensates by reducing energy spent on inflammation and stress responses. This "constrained energy expenditure" model explains why exercise alone doesn't cause weight loss, though it remains crucial for preventing weight gain, reducing disease risk, and potentially tamping down harmful stress responses.
